The One and Only
Life. Without it? Everything that has been achieved on this planet of the last few billion years simply wouldn't have happened. It is the one thing that separates Earth from the billions upon billions of other rocks simply floating through space. Though life isn't just limited to Earth, it is eternal, all encompassing, universal. Alongside it's inevitable counter part, death. One can't exist without the other and both are vital.
Life and Death are much more than just words, they are forces, though by themselves they are bodiless. Which is why they choose couriers, messengers and servants to carry out their bidding. Sentient beings are chosen at birth, chosen to do what needs to be done. Life chooses it's missionaries to heal the broken, give hope where all is lost. Whilst the agents of Death go where they must, doing what must be done to appease the universe.
This story will follow six or so teenagers/young adults as destiny runs it's course. They are summoned though mysterious means to an isolated castle in rural England, all receiving a strange letter which they felt compelled to obey. Upon arriving they learn that they must attend an academy, and learn how to control their new abilities. The academy is over seen by a counsel, composed of Grim, Celestials and Mediums alike
In this tale you can chose to play either a Celestial, an Missionary of life, a Grim, an agent of death, or a medium, humans capable of seeing great things. Celestials are gifted by brilliant white, warm reds or brown wings and light related abilities, able to heal others and use hard light weapons. Grim are given wings of green, grey and black and are blessed with the ability to manipulate disease, plagues and the very shadows themselves. While a Celestial or Grims wings are invisible to the normal human eye, Mediums are humans who can see into the complex world of life and death, often branded witches or warlocks throughout history. They can see things that otherwise would pass unnoticed and are attracted to the supernatural. They have a sharp mind and when training is complete they are often capable of telekinesis and telepathy, some even achieve flight.
A thing to bear in mind about this RP is that Celestials aren't angels, Grim aren't demons and Mediums aren't an "inbetween". There can be sadistic Celestials, Righteous Grim and completely all over the place Mediums. There is no black and white and there is no good and bad, they aren't pitted against each other and ultimately all except the Mediums serve the universe itself.
