Kiyoko Tomoe

The Donut Goddess
It started as a mere speck; a small, infignificant particle floating through the air, fated to go unnoticed for all of eternity. A quiet, hard-working boy, silently chopping away in the forest to keep the fireplace warm during the winter; A young girl, patiently and persistently weaving baskets so that her siblings don't starve. An old man, carefully harvesting the wheat field, so that he may provide sustenance to those around him. Sometimes, that one speck of dust is able to tip the scales, changing the course of history in ways not even the most omnipotent could ever imagine. The axe, cutting deeper than words, turning cold that which it was meant to provide warmth; A needle, sharper than any truth, splitting open the flesh it was meant to protect from harm; A sickle, biting harder than the winter breeze, burying the life it was meant to nurture.

You, much like them, have lived a life of singular purpose. You remain largely unnoticed by society at large, a mere pebble in the pond, living in your little corner of the world. Something changed one day, however. Something may have been said that caused you to snap; perhaps someone important to you passed away. Maybe, you simply couldn't endure the isolated and thankless life you've led. Just as you were about to do the unthinkable, it all came to a halt. Several trails of light stretched out from your feet in various directions, and your head filled with the thoughts and feelings of that path's future. As you take a deep breath, you begin to walk along your chosen path, with only partial certainty in the future you have chosen.
