Welcome to the epic 4 player Morrowind Project! It's always been a dream of mine to play this amazing game with three other people; and now it's possible. With detailed to the bone descriptions on surroundings, and even pictures, this is an RPers dream. It's not going to be easy, but nothing worth doing ever is. Morrowind is an incredibly detailed game developed by Bethesda way back in the day for the PC, and made fans love the game series as it is today.

I'm not being elitist when I say that I'm only asking for only the most hardcore of fans to take part in this RP, because of the detail, anyone else would be completely lost. To deduct any confusion or imagination defaulting, most things in the game will be strictly cannon; except the fact that instead of only one main character, there's 4. They would all leave the prison boat together to discover their place in this vast world. Levels and stats will remain as well; since the character building was more than half of the fun of this universe to begin with. As of right now; I'm here for feedback, and ideas for ways to make this RP even more interesting to take part in.

Concerned with forgetting town names? Or how long or far locations are from each other? Another RPers problem will be resolved with this high-speed grid'd map! Now people actually have a reference on where they are; and how far they are from where they want/need to be. This also helps the visual reference when speaking to NPC's, since they will often ask for help in different places.

Now my other query... Should this be a completely open RP that takes place after the original storyline? Allowing RP'ers to create their characters however they pleased? Or should it be strictly cannon, and follow the original main quest line and guild quests? Both would be remarkable options, but that's why I made this thread; it's only fun if everyone puts in their two cents!

In regards to the story line, I'd say that Rpers should tackle a separate, non-canon story, or be allowed to roam and create their own story as they see fit. I reckon that following the main and guild quests again would kill some of the suspense when we already know where they would end up.

But whatever decision you come to, I'd definitely be interested in this! The idea of a stats and leveling system sounds especially intriguing...

I was thinking that also. Even though there are like 500 total quests in the original game, people would be able to just read GameFaq's and cruise through them. It would be pretty hard not to Godmod doing it cannon also :/ any idea's what the overall setting would be? I wanted it to sort of be 'in the air' but I'm afraid of causing to much confusion that way haha.

You could have the general premise being some sort of war between the Great Houses which starts after the Nerevarine departs on his journey to Akavir. The 'main-story' as it were could revolve around the RPers trying to bring an end to the war; maybe they get involved with things after being recruited by a house to act as mercenaries?

Clever... I like it. I'm gonna have to figure out if I want the RPer's to start at level 1 or just let them choose. Both options work to an extent, but leveling does take a lot of time in the actual game, maybe if I were to allow it to go a tad bit faster? Allowing the RPer's to join a guild on the side has also crossed my mind.

Yeah, the leveling will need some thought. My instinct would be to start people off at level 10 or something, so that they have some power to begin that they can play with and feel powerful, but leaving plenty of headroom for people to grow from there. Level increases could then be assigned at the end of each story segment (either a standard system where each power goes up by 1 level and can assign their own points, or a more complicated system based on what their characters did in the previous segment.

As for guilds they'd be a good thing to introduce, but could be hard to manage in addition to the main-story, especially if only some players join a guild while others don't. Maybe between story quests you could offer a choice of sidequests for people to choose between as a party, and have guild missions thrown in among those?

It's going to need some OOC management, but that idea is doable! I like it. I would personally want to start at level 10 if I made a sandbox character also... It would kind of let me from my play style a little. I'm gonna have to still give the level system some thought though.
