She smiled in what she hoped was something that was reassuring to Lizzy, she had got this funny look in her eyes as she answered her question. “Yeah. An Uber would be nice.” She felt unsaid that it was probably the safest bet for both of them. Unless the driver in question was a sicko, she didn’t want to impose herself on her friends. It would seem strange and weird that Lizzy just picked up a random stranger out of the store. As a matter of fact the entire offer was strange and weird. Yet, oddly, Kristine trusted Lizzy, even though they just met. She was well into this thought when she realized her hand had made a beeline to the pocket again, and Lizzy’s eyes seemed weirded out by it. Her drinking was so ingrained by habit that it took very ounce of will not to take that pure nerve-numbing sip, even though her mouth literally begged for a single drop. This time, instead of forcing her hand to the scar on her neck, she forced it into a folded position. The itch screamed at her even as she did that. She looked to Lizzy, trying to keep the smile on her face, then dropped it when she saw the look on her face. “An Uber driver would be best,” she said after what was undoubtably a few minutes, “there would be a lot of questions otherwise.”
