The Announcement

Everyone remembers the day there was a new thread posted by Ghostcrawler on the forums. Greetings summoners! Everyone at Riot is proud to announce the Wildcard initiative. We feel that the professional League of Legends scene has stagnated recently. It's always the same teams and we thought it needed to be revitalized. With that being said, let me go into detail what the Wildcard initiative actually is!


We have randomly selected challenger level players from the Americas for each role. Some of them you may know, some you may never have heard of before. These five people who have never met before are going to be put onto a team! The team will be sponsored by Riot and will all be flown to a gaming house. Team Wildcard, or TWC, will be participating in the LCS! This means they will only have a couple weeks to practice before they start. Our hope here at Riot is that TWC will be able to bond and become as strong a team as the LCS has ever seen.


The rumors began flying on the forums almost immediately. People began combing through every challenger ranked player, making their own guesses on who the team would be. Arguments started almost immediately over whether this was a good idea or not on Riot's part. How can they compete!? They don't even know each other and they'll only have a few weeks to train together!

The Beginning

The five lucky, or unlucky depending on how you look at it, Summoners received their invitation in their inboxes. Congratulations lucky Summoner! You have been selected to be a part of Team Wildcard. If you choose to accept please call the number below. Travel arrangements have already been made. We will send a truck by that will gather any personal belongings you wish to take with you. Bedding, computers and food will be provided in house. Upon landing you will be escorted to the house where you will meet your coach and new team. Welcome to Team Wild Card!


And so it was on that day that the five summoners boarded their flight to start their new life. Would friendships and rivalries be made? Would the team last in the LCS?

The OOC

I don't necessarily have any roles planned out. Obviously we'll need to figure out who's going what lane. Top is reserved by me. I'm much more worried about the character than the lane choice. However, that being said, this is not first come first serve. I don't want to exclude anyone but I have to give everyone a chance that's interested. I hate waiting to be accepted just as much as you do. I would prefer if we had 3 guys and 3 girls, meaning someone would roleplay the coach. If no one's interested we can just have the coach be an npc though.


What I need from you : A basic knowledge of League. I'm not going to get on you if you don't know every single detail about the game but you should know enough to at least have a conversation about it IC.


Activeness. I plan to have a post order. I think it gets too unruly way too fast when people are posting whenever they want. That being said, I would like it if everyone could at least post once per day.


Last thing: While League is obviously a large part of the roleplay I'm more worried about the experience of being a professional gamer. I have come up with three ways to handle the games that we'll play.


Short: Fade to black and we can decide if we win/lose.


Long: Actually roleplay out the game. If we do this i don't want to spend more than a day or two on one game though.


Play: A fun little idea I had. If everyone is on board we could all actually play a game of LoL and briefly summarize it in one post.


Don't know if this is the place for information like that but I want people to know what they're getting in to. Don't want people to be interested then get turned off by a post order or anything like that.
