Fantasy Talented

CloudyBlueDay

made up of opposites

You are talented. You are special.

Sure, you can play the piano, you can paint a picture, but can you truly unlock the talent inside of you?

These children can. They can make their talents so much more.

Much more than you realize.

Five children have talents; good at math, good at music, good at art, etc, etc, but their talents are more than that. They are magic. I'm looking for five or less ADVANCED [minimum 3+ paragraphs per post, at least] people that are interested in playing as a character with talents that unlock magic. I'm not reserving spots for talents at the moment. Here are some examples.

Art Talent - Whatever you draw comes to life

Music Talent - The music you play control's peoples emotions

Technology Talent - You can build most anything, it nearly never fails

Photography Talent - Any picture taken, if touched, can teleport you to that time and place.

Etc, etc. Anyone up for such a thing?

Oh! Well, okay, everybody if you can, send me writing examples. If 3+ people send me examples I'll get to work on the thread.

Example from a recent rp:

The forest surrounding the shrine seemed to come to life with the chirping of crickets as evening was transitioning into night. Trees towered all around, silent and somber. The sun was just starting to set, it's receding rays streaking the sky with dark oranges and pinks. Fireflies were starting to come out of hiding, lighting up the oncoming darkness with their pinpricks of yellow light.

Jupiter was aimlessly floating around just above the shrine, thinking. It was her favorite place to pass time. From her position, she could see far into the forest, and even the ocean that the forest was situated by. She made sure she didn't go too high, at the risk of being seen by the humans in Kamakura town. The ocean, which was bright with pastel colors just a few moments ago, was slowly turning a dark blue.

Jupiter could also see the town's lights far in the distance. It felt as if an entire sea separated them. "Well, that was the idea, wasn't it?" All the celestials had isolated themselves long ago to keep the humans safe. While that was good and all, isolation was quite boring. She had snuck out plenty of times, as she suspected others had done too, to learn and experience what the human world was like. She found it all to be very in interesting.

A firefly flew close to her, its body's luminesce flashing periodically. Reaching out, Jupiter quickly cupped her hands around it in hopes of catching it. The sudden momentum caused her to slowly somersault in the air. She ended up in a supine position, her back facing the shrine below. Now, all she could see was the sky. Her gaze finally met the aligning planets, looking at them for the first time that night.

She could see the Moon and Mars prominently, which brought a smile to her face. Then her eyes fell upon Jupiter. This brought a bout if nostalgia, as she remembered her home. Then she noticed Pluto, much smaller than the others, following Jupiter. The sight of the it sent waves of conflicting emotions coursing through her. She felt great sorrow as she was reminded of his demise. Mixed in with that was happiness at the memories they shared, at how close they had been. Then longing trickled in slowly, getting stronger and stronger till it started pouring in, and threatened to engulf her. Longing to go home. Longing to have her friends back. Longing to be a family again.

She turned away from the planets, choosing instead to look at the dim light coming from her cupped hands. She just sat there floating and staring down at the firefly until she had calmed down.

The alignment of the planets was something the humans were quite excited about, though they wouldn't even begin to understand what it would bring about. The Awakening. All the celestials had known for a year, and it had finally come down to it. The lost celestials would return again.

The thought got Jupiter excited once more, for she was reminded that they would all be reunited again. She had been assigned to locate and bring back Pluto by the Sun, an assignment she was more than happy with. Her search had been ongoing for a few days, with no luck. However, her spirits weren't dampened. She knew for sure that she would find him. She was getting close, she could feel it. Others weren't so optimistic. Neptune wasn't convinced of this whole ordeal, but he hadn't managed to change her mind yet.

"Speaking of Neptune..." Her ruby eyes glittered as she caught sight of the celestial just stepping out of the shrine, and taking a seat on the back steps. "I've been meaning to ask how their search went today." Before she went to talk to him, she gave one last look at the sky, settling on Pluto. "I'll see you soon, old friend." She sent the thought far out into the sky, willing it to reach him.

Jupiter then turned away, and angled herself towards Neptune. Manipulating the gravity around her, she measuredly increased the force on her until she landed softly on her feet beside him. Without asking, she plopped down on the step next to him and smiled. "So, Neptune, how are you doing this fine evening?"
