Caught in a storm
One year ago

Anthony had been unsure about becoming a teacher at Sunny High, his newly deceased wife seemed to really enjoy teaching these kids. He wanted more than anything to be as heroic as she was. But he knew she always went abit too easy on people because of how worried she was for them. He wanted to show others he could be a true hero who smiled and encouraged others but at the same time he didn't want to let people make the same mistakes he had made.

Going through her desk, countless papers. It was flurry of a mess and it honestly put him to peace for a moment. However one specific piece of paper had bothered him when he noticed it.
It was her schedule. She wasn't supposed to have gone with the rescue team today. She was supposed to be recovering from an injury. One that she had neglected to tell him about.
What did this mean?

Today
News Report, @7AM Beverly Hills News

As we all know it has been one week since the number 1 hero of California and 10 time Grammy award winning movie star Johnny Starknox was found dead in an alleyway after fighting a member of the newly risen supervillain organization "The Hollywood Parade" who claims to be responsible for his death.

We also have for the first time, a first hand account of the mysterious Royal Academy in England. Here is an official quote from a young woman known as Charlotte Weissman, who happened to be the daughter of the Royal Navy's Commander

Things aren't looking great. I want to stay strong and hope for the future of this country but I know more than anything we're on the verge of a huge civil war.
A group of radicals had attacked the school and we were forced to shut it down. I've since been trying to get myself into the military. I think I need to protect our country.
I can only hope every one of my classmates made it out alive.

Well there you have it! It seems that the school was attacked by a mysterious group of strangers

Sunny High Exam
maze.jpg

Examinees had gathered to a specialized location. A series of mazes had been built within a sort of garden. Most of the teachers from Sunny High were going to monitor the event.
Anthony Stone had been at the front of the entrance to the maze. Castle like structures and mazes could be seen through the thickening of bushes
Hidden Cameras were placed all throughout the event allowing the teachers to view the event.
A digital scoreboard was placed on a high billboard up in the air. It had the names of every student on it and a zero next to it.

"Welcome to the Sunny High Entrance Exam! This forest is where you'll be heading into to take the entrance exam! If you recognize the castle, then yes, it is indeed a replica of an old English Castle from the medieval ages. One of our investors is a huge fan of the whole King Arthur mythos.

You'll fight a few different types of giant robots in the maze. Inside you'll differing paths and you'll encounter knights within them. These knights are heavily armored and will use traditional weapons such as swords or axes. They are about 15 feet tall and weigh 5 tons so you probably will be able to beat them with low to mid difficulty.

When you get closer to the Castle you'll find the Cavalry. These aren't as easy to deal with. Much like the knights they are heavy and covered in armor, however they ride on horses which increase their mobility, and unlike the Knights they use Spears and Lances.

When you get inside the castle, there is a dragon in the throne room. This metallic beast is over 30 feet tall and breathes fire, it's also incredibly durable. You'll likely have to work together to beat it however the room will lock itself once 3 people have entered. Once it's defeated the people in the room will be moved to a new room and the old one will reopen with a new dragon in it.

But once you beat him you will find a bunch of mannequins in dresses. These represent a princess. Grab one of them and bring him back to this very location where we started at and you'll have finished the exam. From that point you can then see this billboard and you'll see how fast you completed this compared to the others.

From there me and the other teachers will discuss your performance. And you'll be given a pass or a failure."

He then pressed a button on a watch on his arm and the maze opened to a gateway.
"Well then, what are you waiting for?"

Angel fiddled with her hair as she listened to the instructor's rundown of the examination course, weaving it into a sturdy braid. So, they would be facing off against robots. Typical. It was a good thing she had spent the summer sharpening and strengthening her claws, because they were going to get a lot of use today. Unfortunately that meant the coat of paint she had just put on them last night would be ruined, but that didn't matter now. This was her chance to get into the top hero school in California, just like her mom. She was not about to screw this up.

As he came to the part about the "dragon" Angel began to look around at her fellow examinees, trying to gauge who would be most useful in a group battle. There were a few who looked like they could hold their own fairly easily, while others gave the impression that they would only slow her down. She made up her mind then to keep an eye on the stronger ones and try to team up with them at the first opportunity. Not that she needed to rely on others, but if she wanted to get a good score and make it on to the next phase then finding good teammates would be key.

As soon as the gates opened, she was off, running on all fours for greater speed. The first phase of this test was about individual performance, and like her mother before her, she was determined to show what she could do. As she rounded a corner she spotted the first wave of robots. She increased her speed, charging directly at them. As soon as she was within fifteen feet she tensed her leg muscles and launched herself upward, arcing through the air.
As she came down she latched onto one of the "knights" heads and used her momentum and body weight to rip it from its shoulders. Then she moved on to the next, lashing out with razor sharp claws. She managed to take out the small group in only a few short minutes and with that finished she continued on, deeper into the maze.

James fiddles with the straps on the holsters for his guns as he waits for the exam to start, listening closely to what the man had to say. Wow! What an interesting test! He was very excited at this point as he listened, Knights, Calvary, Dragons?! By golly, this sounded like had had popped right out of some fairy tail! And this all sounded very important so he took lots of mental notes. James smiles, he was determined to show them what he was made of! He didn't want to leave this city just yet, he had finally gotten here, and he was determined to become a great hero! His father may have only been a sidekick, but he knew he could do more!

Once the gates were open, he ran ahead, excitement coursing through his veins, he could do this! He knew he could! His quirk may not be useful as some of those other's here, but it had it's advantages! Whenever he would push off the ground with his feet, using his ability to float combined with his, he hurled himself further, faster then her could run, and past many of the other applicants. He quickly found his way towards the front of the group, the group thinning at others chose different paths to go down. As he came upon a robot himself, he quickly upholsterer his guns and shot at them with lightning fast accuracy. Then again he only shot it at it twice, and failed to kill it. but he did take out and arm, and leave a very nice hole. with another shot he got it's head though before it could get close to him. Awesome! Just like he always said. if you don't finish the job right away, keep trying until you do! He glanced around from here he 'stood' over the bot. Yup! He should get moving. after all there was a test to complete!

Carmine was at the back of the examinees, listening intently to how all this would work, as she stretched her arms and legs. Yep, robots just as she thought it would be. "OK this should be easy for me, simple bots that I can easily take down and the dragon I just need to be careful of the actual body" Carmine thought to herself as jumped up and down shaking out her nervousness

She looked around, quietly trying to identify what everyone else's Quirks were not that it mattered, given what her Quirk was by the time she was at the dragon people would flock to her given her near invincibility when it comes to fire. As the teacher was finishing up their explanation, she closed her eyes and cocked her arms as she did, her hair turned into a mixture of black and orange, her arms went from thin to large black claws stopping at her shoulders and as she opened her eyes they were now a bright orange

She was then on the move as the gates opened, she went in the direction with least amount of students, at first she thought about burning her way through the maze but then decided against it since she would probably burn the whole maze down as well as others and after she decided on that she ran into a group of three knights, which caused Carmine to simply smirk, as she summoned a fiery one handed axe in her left hand and charged at the three of them. As she and the three knight bots clashed weapons her fiery axe, starting to melt the bots weapons. As she came back from the clash, she swung hard once again at all three of them and as they prepared to block, the flaming axe utterly decimated their weapons breaking them with the heat of that second swing and their previous clash. She then unsummoned her axe and swung her claws cleaving through the armour leaving large claw marks on two of them before she grabbed the third one, ripped off it's head and managed to throw the main body of the bot to the entrance of the maze, clear over the hedges "Time to move on" she said simply as she had to run Naruto style due to her claws being too big to run normally with

While the robots were something Danny had been expecting, their weight was an issue for him. There was gonna be no way for him to blow them down or anything. Of course he had a few ideas but one of them would work if the maze's floor was made of loose dirt and the robots didn't have infra red vision or anything. He saw some of the other students just barge straight in and knew he couldn't waste too much time if he wanted to pass. On the other hand his current plan would have the best odds of working if no one copied his idea.

So while doing his best to remember where he was in direction to the castle he looked for a path that seemed empty of both robots and students and until he found he focused primarily on avoiding the knights. It took him a while but eventually he found what he was looking for and decided to try it. Hoping the hedges weren't grown covering a fence or something Danny tried to just go through them using his Quirk only to move some particulary annoying branches if they were in his way.

Kia remains sat throughout the presentation, having somehow procured a steaming teacup and taking small sips while pierced upon a collapsible stool, a faint smile upon her features as she listens to the planned entertainment they had arranged for the days testing, purely a formality but the novel approach was certainly appreciated. Turning her eyes away for a second she blinks at the display of the maze as she wonders just how they would be enforcing the intended use? Hmm oh, metal frames between the foliage! how quaint! Then what would be in place for those who tried to scale? Archers perhaps? That would definitely fit the theme through an electrified grid would be far more effective and just claim a wizard did it. Nodding to herself periodically she then moves onto the combative part of the test, the knights, of course, would have the usual flaws even before taking into account the size...and the misplacement of cavalry? well that would be simpler than the knights though requiring slightly more precision. The final part would be the robotic dragon, several potential weaknesses depending on how they chose to construct it though which to exploit?...taking a look towards her sleeve for a moment she gives a soft sigh, well she did ensure to bring a change though if she had known ahead of time they would have changed to something other than silk...it does not handle flames well and leaves such a dreadful scent.

Noticing the presentation coming to a close the girl gracefully stands after draining the last of her cup and takes the handle of her seat, the object's legs folding away into a compact briefcase before a long hilt like handle protrudes from one end, straightening out the folds of her outfit she turns to the door and begins to walk, well time to begin, picking up to a quick sprint. It would be most unbecoming to tackle the maze in any way other than intended, after all, they must have put an awful lot of work into it so best to appreciate the design as she travels. As Kia comes upon the towering knights she does not slow her speed, instead of skipping to the side as a large blade breaks the ground and a flash of something with a clang can be heard from the case as her hand is now upon the protruding handle, sliding it back slowly before it clicks and both of the knees appear to have been pierced between the joints of the plates.

Well, she could perhaps have chosen to fight more of them but really only those in the way mattered, the same scene seeming to repeat itself with differing results on each subsequent obstacle, the wrist pierced and the sword dropped, the sparking of limbs in parts before they go limp, the effects did seem to be isolated to the lower half of the Knight, though then again there really was little reason to leap when a simple parry or side steps would suffice. Another several turns and the castle was growing larger above the tree line, along with the clopping of a canter speeding to a gallop indicating the cavalry was close though still, they continued on as the first came into view...oh well the description was accurate then again hitting a smaller target with a spear was really ill-advised for it, perhaps a halberd would have been better for greater sweeps but what's done is done she supposes. Several more flashes and the cavalry is tumbling and crashing behind her, the knight crumpled under his own weight and that of the fallen horse now sporting sparking legs as it looks upon the vanishing form of the girl carrying ever onwards.

Upon the monitors it was becoming extremely clear the girl was showing naught but pure efficency in her methods, dispatching only those that would bar her path and only with what was needed to cripple their movements to prevent them following, slowing down the footage however did reveal just how she was doing the damage she was. Almost as if dancing a longsword like a weapon was being ejected from the case with a button on the holding hand, before being grasped mid-flight and swung at the key joints of each, subtle movements avoiding the blows but ever when the blades at one point seemed to come inches from their face they had yet to even blink...either through a wreckless absence of fear or pure confidence in avoiding injury remained to be seen.

Now, this certainly was fun, while training with the instructors was one thing, the automation provided far more haptic feedback and reminded her of those medieval times shows, she could maybe borrow a horse? no far to large and unwieldy and a metal saddle? heavens forbid...Perhaps she should start getting into the spirit of it though? Well, it wouldn't be the most dignified...then again neither would showing no appreciation for the work put in, no no that would not do, very well...what would work best?..how did they go again?. Taking out another Cavalry as she heads onwards Kia clears her throat and finally opens her mouth to speak when the next approaches.

"Methinks agents more deeply versed in martial combat would, for a certainty have imparted great import upon the aversion to one's size to be overcome by lower forces less they be laid low by blades brought to bear!" placing a free hand upon her chest as she speaks and another crashes to its side "Yet regardless, the players gather to assume their marks on a stage wreathed in flame, where battle with the lady is to gift thee a glimpse into the fortress of inscrutability. So bow to inevitability, and prepare oneself for what will undoubtedly turn into another blistering trial!" eyes closed for a second with a wide smile, oh these really were a joy, this must be the draw that brought thespian actors to their craft, perhaps she should ask father to secure tickets to one of the next shows? a flight to New York for the latest would be a good treat for admission to the school....oh perhaps they could visit that adorable Budapest cafe with the apple foie gras?.

Philip had gotten the gist of the rundown. Defeat knights in a maze, horsemen and work together to fight a dragon, right? Simple. Now then, what truly caught his attention was the exam course. It was to be admired. He must capture this sight in his art after this. It was truly something to behold. So much effort must have been put into constructing this entire place! That investor has a good eye. Fitting for an exam which determines future heroes. It must be.

And their opponents! Robot knights, horses and even a dragon! He can't wait to see them. They certainly have gone all out for this. It must be incredibly expensive to have built all of these things. The school must have an incredible sum of money to have decided to build these things just for an entrance exam. Simply amazing. This deserves to be preserved in his art. Though as much as he wishes to admire all of these things further, he must focus. A hero who gets distracted easily is useless.

Taking a deep breath, Philip broke into a sprint. In the maze, he took in his surroundings. This is definitely going in one of his paintings. The best way for him to navigate this maze was to keep following a wall. Only thing was, he could not afford the time. Once encountering two knights, he does not slow down. Adrenaline flows through his body, his blood flows like a torrent and he immediately feels the rush.

The robot swings it's blade and he jumps, landing on it's back. "Magnificent." Philip rips it's head off and jumps down as the axe of the second one tears straight through the first one. Panting, he looks around and dashes for the sword. More adrenaline rushes through his body and he leaps to pierce it. It struggles. "Not dead yet?" He forces the sword downwards, sparks flying as he does so with ferocity. It's body falls with a loud thud. Philip stops to breathe and steam rises from his body.

He knows he must move forward so he tries to rush. Looking at the two weapons, he decides to opt for the axe before he navigates again. "I apologize for having defiled you," he says as he stands over the two robots. Destroying such works of art are necessary however. Axe in hand, he takes off into another sprint. Time is of the essence. This is a test after all.

Raine was not super impressed by the test it was just machines and a maze. Raine had nothing to fear from machines weild swords and anything else and the maze would easily solved as it didnt look like it was solid. Raine almost wondered if she should ask them to make the test harder for her as nothing really would be a challenge as it was presented. In the end Raine didnt bother to mention it and just picked a path. Raine didn't go down the path like normal instead she walked to the maze walls and into the hedge.

Unlike others Raine was not solid she was a liquid and could force herself through the gaps of the beaches moving like water through them. This meant that Raine could just go in a straight line to the end of the maze and that was her plan. The knights she barely thought of as they wielding only physical weapons would be of no threat to somone that was like her.

Raine while moving through the maze in her straight line would come upon two of the knights. She almost yawned at seeing them not scared or excited and she would have walked past them if they allowed her to. The knights of course would not they were machines they didn't think for themselves. Machines had predictable methods of attack and defence that somone could use. Raine didn't she had another way as the machines moved around once they detected her.

Raine only sighed as they moved both striking at her and while another might move Raine stood there. The two slashed both being side slashes passed through raine her body healing moments after the blades passed. The two blade losing no momentum would slam into the other bot. The two lights hit each other taking out one leg each causing them to fall over. They werent fully taken out but both bots couldnt stand or seing anymore.

" Really machines are so dumb they should have used teachers Raine said with a bored sigh befire heading back on her path through the bushes leaving the robots to crawl around after her or just around in general.

Cassie immediately began walking into the maze once it was opened, brainstorming as she went. All of the enemies were too heavy as they generally were when she trained so that wouldn't work. The easiest things she could use was the dirt and leaves and twigs from the hedges. A storm of leaves and twigs slowly began forming around her as she telekinetically began stripping leaves off the hedges of the maze.

Cassie approached her first robot-knight. With a few thoughts the storm of leaves and twigs attacked the robot like a swarm of wasps. The leaves and twigs began to shove themselves into every chink in the robot's armor, jamming joints and even some doing the level best to mess up any wiring it could reach.

The robot-knight fell to the ground without even swinging at Cassie. She smiled as it fell with a satisfying thunk and continued on through the maze.

Evelynn Rosethorn:
Evelynn listened carefully to the information given by the instructor, he mentioned how there would be multiple armoured robots waiting to test the potential candidates from behind the large doors leading to the maze in front of them. Assuming he wasn’t omitting any key details, there would be three types, each with increasing difficulty, regular soldiers, then more difficult cavalry bots, and then finally a dragon which sounded like it’d be the final boss, requiring a team to actually take it down.

When the man finally opened the doors, the other candidates didn’t waste any time and rushed straight in. However, Evelynn decided to enter the maze last, she thought about how they were all told the dragon at the end would require teamwork, thus, she decided to drop back a little so she could assess the quirks of the others and identify the best two quirks that would be most compatible with her own. This wasn’t as simple as siding with quirks that had raw power, she knew the teachers would rather look at how well they work together than see one person carry the team.

Once everyone else had entered, the pale blue haired girl took a deep and clenched her fists at her side.

“Mr Fiddle, are you ready?” she asked, focusing on the entrance to the maze in front of her. Suddenly, a floating, masked spectre with long silver hair materialized out of thin air behind Evelynn and let out an audible screech. “Good, then let’s proceed. Start the threads from here, that way we’ll be able to keep track of which routes we’ve taken, in other words, we should be able to reach the castle relatively quickly.”

The spectre obeyed, immediately releasing his threads from his index finger while following Evelynn, who’d started walking into the maze. She didn’t bother deciding on a route to take, knowing that with Mr Fiddle’s threads tracing her steps she’d inevitably arrive at the castle in no time.
7456f1ff82817229e58b2bb62b2bd2b3cebf3458r1-540-300_hq.gif
It wasn’t long before the first wave of robots obstructed their path. These appeared to be the knights wielding swords and axes, just as the instructor had told them. She was surrounded by three bots, which all charged at her from three different angles.

“I don’t intend to waste much time here, so let's dispatch them quickly,” Evelynn said pointing at the robot in front of her. Mr Fiddle created threads between his hands before moving them both to either side of his body. With one hand, Mr Fiddle slashed diagonally downwards, extending the length of the threads and making them sharp enough to slice through the body of the knight on the right of them. The second knight managed to get into close proximity of Evelynn and swung at her with his axe, but the weapon was halted midway through the attack. His arm was being restrained by threads, the spectre darted towards the robot looking at it menacingly with his demonic red eyes, he then shook his head in tauntingly before flying back to Evelynn, tightening the strings so that is tore off the arm of the machine. The explosion caused by the attack was enough to disrupt the robot’s circuits and resulted in its destruction. When the third knight, which was stood furthest away, finally reached Evelynn, Mr Fiddle had already set a trap for the unfortunate machine. He was surrounded by four threads which intersected at points creating a square around the knight’s neck. Mr Fiddle’s arms were held in an x-shape across his chest. When his master ordered him, he pulled on the perfectly aligned strings which decapitated the robot.

“Thankfully these weren’t difficult to defeat, just as the man said. But I should still be wary, as I feel the real challenge will be the dragon. My quirk does poorly against fire, so I need to make sure I find others who will be useful allies.” Evelynn reminded herself as she looked pitifully at the defeated robots on the ground.

Chloe immediately rushed into the maze. This was definitely a well designed maze. And the whole medieval aesthetic was super interesting.
It seemed she didn't get far before she had ran into a knight. These things were huge! They were basically giants. It had noticed her and started moving towards her swinging it's sword at her. She narrowed avoiding it by moving out of the way before activating her aura. A white aura began to glow encompassing Chloe's body. With her increased strength she punched a hole in the knight's chest before kicking it over.

The knight had fallen over destroyed unable to get up. Sparks flew from the hole, which revealed internal wires which had been damaged. It seems the circuitry had been shorted from the attack.
The Knights didn't seem too strong. Perhaps the Cavalry would be tougher. To avoid using any unnecessary aura she had deactivated her aura. Her power needed to be saved rather than used too freely.

Heading further into the maze she had kept making turns and the whole thing seemed to blend in. She felt like she was beginning to get lost and she didn't know where she is.
"I could've sworn I was here before..." She said. She had made it to what seemed like a cross path with a left path and a right path.

She couldn't see past the tall hedges and it had been awhile and she hadn't run into any of the other examinees.
Deciding to take a left path she had continued to move before bumping into something.
She fell to her feet and got up before realizing she had run into a girl. "Oh hello! Do you know where we're supposed to go?" She had asked the girl.
The girl looked strange with her claws and dual colored hair. It was a very interesting looking quirk.

Amber sat in her office supping on a cup of tea as she looked over at the television. She let out a sad sigh as she listened to the news report. The report of the death of a well known hero was still an occurrence on the news as the new villian group made her feel uneasy. The report soon changed to the accounts of Royal Academy, a school overseas. It seems they were having hard times, she hoped those poor students were safe.

Placing her mug down she stood up from her chair and turned off the television. Picking up a small satchel she made her way out of the office and over to the area were the school would be having their examinations for the new students.

Soon the tall woman made her way to where most of the teachers were gathering to view the examinations. Taking her seat she looked up towards the monitors, it seemed that the exam had just started. She wished best of luck to all the children trying out for a spot within the school. Although she was not here to help judge and pick the students entering Sunny High, she did enjoy watching the students have the chance to show off their quirks. Amber was as well there incase if any of the examanies needed any medical attention.

Aquamari stood among the sea of students ready to take the exam for their chance to attend Sunny High. The blue haired girl was a bit nervous as she listened to the instructor went over the instructions of the exam. She let out a small breath as she gently patted one of her tentacles that laid over her shoulder, as she gathered her thoughts preparing herself for the exam to begin.

Aqua smiled and gasped, excited to see the castle and the dragon especially. The theme of the exam sounded so exciting, something out of one of her fantasy books she loved to read. Although still a bit nervous, she was going to give it all her best. After all she could not let her grandfather down, he had been helping her prepare for the entrance exam all summer.

The doors finally opened and the students rushed into the maze, to which Aqua followed. The short girl made sure to stay to her left, as she had heard once that staying to the left would help her find her way out of a maze. Thus if that fact was right she soon would reach the castle and get to see the dragon.

Just around the first corner she turn too, the blue haired girl was faced with her first two opponents. They were two knights, very large ones, but to Aquamari most everything was tall as she only stood at 5’3. They were very impressive looking robots, one was wielding an axe while the second one held a very large looking sword.

Aqua smiled as her tentacles spread out all around her, opening her mouth she spits out a stream of ink, aiming towards the two knights feet. Taking off running towards the two knights she slid herself right in the middle of them. As she slid between them, her tentacles reached out towards the knights and wrapped themselves around their heads. Both knights had lifted their weapons up in the air as she made her way towards them, causing them to become a bit top heavy. That along with the slippery ink and her momentum caused the robotic knights come crashing down to the ground in a loud crash. Although Aquamari continued to slide a few more feet, pulling the robots heads along with her, only to stop when she crashed into the hedge. “Well...that went as planned...somewhat..” she said to herself as she giggled crawling out of the hedge.

The short blue haired giggled as she stood up and dust herself off. Wiping the bit of ink of her mouth she took off running getting a bit deeper into the maze.

While Danny wasn't too surprised it was somewhat disappointing to find that there was indeed a fence inside of the hedges. This would make things a lot harder for him but he wasn't gonna give up. He crawled back out of the hedge hoping his orientation was correct took the path he believed would take the castle the fastest. Not one minute he had to turn around thanks to a dead end.

Wanting to avoid the robots he picked a different path that seemed to lead in what he believed to be the right direction and had a destroyed knight lying on the ground. With some effort he wormed past it and kept moving on. He hoped that whoever he was following was heading the same way as that would make things a lot easier.

Of course he turned out be wrong again as he spotted a knight in the distance which quickly spotted him as well. Luckily the machine wasn't that fast when it came to moving and Danny has enough time to prepare. He took a deep breath, his lungs filling up the point that they pushed his ribcage aside and made his chest look like a balloon is implied by the name of his Quirk.

When the knight was a lot closer but still far away enough that he was out of range of its sword he released all of the air he had inhaled. Aiming at the floor he hoped that the dust cloud would obscure him long enough to sques past the knight and get enough of a head start that it wouldn't be able to catch up.A single gust of wand wasn't enough to create a huge sandstorm but it was barely enough to prevent the knight from seeing him. He did give up on the idea of squeezing past and instead hid himself in the hedge something the knight apparently wasn't programmed to deal with and got past that way. Unfortunately it somehow detected Danny the second he got out of the hedge and did start chasing him, fortunately he was a lot faster and hoped to get out of whatever area it was programmed to protect before needing to take a break.

Bartholomew 'Onyx King' Walker
Location: Sunny High, Beginning of the Maze
Interaction Status: Open

A castle. A maze. Knights.

And a dragon.

Blowing hot air from his nostrils, Bartholomew folded his arms and glared out at the foreboding hedges. 'Fantasy. What a shitty genre. No one wins awards for performing in those pieces.' Yet here he was, future hit movie star and future #1 American hero, forced to play the part of reluctant knight to save from fictional kingdom. A low growl erupted from his throat at the notion, and Walker paced anxiously, the Sun's heat practically cooking him in his rather unique choice of attire. The son of the magazine editor had picked his hero costume carefully, not wanting for a second to be confronted and accused of lack-of-class, Barry seemed better suited to attend an award ceremony than battling mechanical monsters. Other heroes would pick practical costumes, those that best matched their quirks, but Walker couldn't accommodate his transformation with clothing alone. What other options did he have than to dress to perfection? 'A burden, but one I will gladly wear.' The blond managed a sharp smirk, before he refocused on the proctor's words. 'So not only must we fight through a maze, team up to defeat a dragon. . .' Even just repeating those words in his head, Walker rolled his heads and gave a resigned sigh. 'We have to save a princess.'

To his mind, what needed to happen immediately after the dragon was bested was clear. 'Best time wins, right? Betray your teammates right after you win.' Not a particularly heroic thought, but in this film, Bartholomew wasn't an aspiring hero, but a noble knight who would not allow his efforts to be outdone by rivals.

The declaration to start was sudden, the stampede of quirk-abusing West-Coasters even more so as they took themselves into the many splitting passages of the maze. For himself, Barry remained stagnant, still, his blue eyes narrowing as he counted heads as they disappeared around bends. Few others were willing to keep themselves back more than a handful of seconds, and he took note of the others who found a moment's pause to consider their path. 'Might be useful allies, or those I need to be wary of.' Already, the sounds of metal bending, tearing, or clashing filled the air. Triumphant shouts and battle cries from victorious youths caused Walker's blood to stir with equal excitement, loathed he may be to admit it. 'The star must go on.' He told himself, taking a daring step forward.

'Can't use my quirk preemptively.' Not that the maze suited his Tyrant King form. The temptation to barrel through the hedges was prominent, but the notion of supporting the other students by giving them a clear path to the castle gave him great pause. 'I'll need that form for the dragon, anyways. . Meaning, I need to bypass the maze and the cavalry without my quirk.' His lips dipped into a forlorn frown as his nose scrunched, another step towards the maze taken as the noises grew distant.

It was an immediate decision, and the tuxedo wearing youth bolted into the maze, following the sounds of most popular path. Right or wrong, he'd have a better chance of getting through following the mob of mad students. Fortunately, the large number would assure him that the existing knights to challenge him would be appropriately minimized. 'Fighting a five ton, fifteen foot tall robot is not my idea of an easy challenge.' He recalled the proctor's words, now sounding taunting as he passed the wreckage of one such being. His feet pounded on the ground, carrying him further into the maze as he eyed any potential allies, those simply to carry him to the castle, before any agreement expired.

Aquamari quickly walked throughout the maze, she did not want to run ahead as to not tire herself out to soon. So walking at a quick pace seemed like the best method to her. As she made her way deeper though the maze she did not run into many other robots, well functioning ones that is. She did stumble into one more holding on to an axe and then two others that had already been taken down, as well as a dead end before making her way to a clearing. Looking around the first thing she noticed was the fountain in the middle of the clearing, which brought a huge smile to her face to see it working.

But before she ran over to the fountain, she decided to mark the path she had come from. After all there were three other paths and she did not want to return down the path she had come from. With her path marked she happily smiled and skipped over to the fountain. Taking a seat at the fountain she took off her shoes, with a quick spin around she faced the fountain and placed her feet in the water. Walking around the fountain she splashed water around herself making sure her head and hair/tentacles got wet.

To who ever came out of the maze and on to the clearing, along with the teachers observing them, would think the short girl was playing around in the fountain. Although she was having a bit of fun splashing in the water, it was at the same time helping her stay hydrated. As she could not bring a backpack full of water bottles this was the next best thing and she was indeed lucky to have stumbled on to the fountain. Aquamari needed to remember not to stay in the fountain for to long as she was taking an exam of course. Just a few minutes would be good enough, maybe about three.

Evelynn Rosethorn:
Evelynn continued to traverse the maze swiftly, fighting off any machines that obstructed her path. Through trial and error, using her threads as reassurance, she was able to better locate the route she needed to take to arrive at the castle entrance. It'd been a little more than ten minutes since she entered the complex network of paths, but she was already getting the sense that she was close. Her suspicions were supposedly proven true upon spotting two cavalry type knights in the distance. A smile of relief was planted on her visage, she must be near the castle doors. After all, she could only presume that they'd situate the more difficult machines nearer to the castle.

"Looks like we're almost there," Evelynn remarked, looking ahead the two knights at the end of the path. "I don't hear much commotion around here, we must either be the first to arrive here or someone has already been far past this point...no, nevermind that, if someone had been here already then the chances are they would've already dealt with the two in front of us."

Eventually, the two robots spotted Evelynn and began charging at her like a pair of raging bulls. They were each wielding a lance that extended their attack range significantly. It meant that they'd be able to strike from a further distance than the machines Evelynn had fought prior, but the shape of the weapon also meant that they were limited to performing stabbing attacks, which made them easier to telegraph.

"Let's try a simple attack first, Mr Fiddle," Evelynn ordered. The sentient being created several threads, from his fingers and lashed at the aggressors but to no avail. The knight was able to make a sharp manoeuvre and alter his course in an erratic motion. Surprising. Mr Fiddle narrowly missed but failing to land a decisive strike resulted in him suffering an injury from the second knight, it was a deep thrust into his left shoulder. The Spectre let out an eerie screech, that could quite likely have been heard throughout the maze. Quickly, he retreated back to Evelynn's side, avoiding the enemies' zone of attack while he awaited his master's next command.

Evelynn focused, evaluating what she'd just observed. She didn't expect the cavalry knights to possess such mobility, it certainly threw her off and her initial plan ended up poorly. Mr Fiddle had now sustained unnecessary damage, that could prove fatal when fighting the dragon. It's not like she had time to let him heal either as it was a race against time. She had to think on her feet, she couldn't afford to hesitate. Thankfully, Eve is a quick thinker, she was able to formulate a new plan that involved waiting for the enemy to come to her.

When one of the robots turned back around and charged towards Evelynn again, she noticed how the other slowed down but continued to move towards her. Despite how fast the machine was moving, building up enough momentum to possibly kill her, she didn't budge and remained perfectly still.

"Now!" She shouted when the time was right. As soon as she yelled her command, Mr Fiddle tightened a thread he'd placed across the width of the path between the two hedges. The razor-sharp thread sliced through the mechanical horse's feet causing him to crash onto the floor. Mr Fiddle seized the opportunity and tore off the knight's head with his large claws. One down, one to go.

Just as she'd expected, the second knight picked up speed as soon as the other knight was no longer in range. Mr Fiddle quickly used his threads to lift the lance of the fallen knight and then created another thread, which he reinforced with several others by allowing them to coil together, between his two palms. He then pulled the lance tightly across the thickened threads that he'd augmented to make more elastic and fired the lance with lethal force, like an archer firing an arrow from a great bow. The lance struck the knight with such force it knocked him off the horse's back and pierced through the centre of its chest, destroying the core of its electrical circuits.

"Alright! We did it!" Evelynn said cheerfully, clasping her hands together. "I knew that both robots would be unable to attack simultaneously, due to the narrowness of the path, they would end up dangerously close to one another and may have ended up damaging each other. Anyhow, Now that they're defeated, let's find the entrance shall we."

Carmine was running around the mazewith her claws facing the ground, as her golden fleece, although that wasn't working as well as she would have liked "Grrrrr, c'mon I know I've been here before" Carmine growled to herself before she felt someone bump into her from behind and her head snapped to see who bumped into her "HEY, WATCH WHERE YOUR GOING" She snapped before taking a deep breath in and then out "Sorry, I'm naturally a bit more angry in this form, sorry for snapping. I do have some idea of where to go..." Carmine trailed off before her eyes brightened "I've got a bright idea" Carmine said before realising how tall the bushes were "Oh well screw that noise, the bushes were taller than I realised anyway follow me, I've marked my trail with gigantic claws" She smiled holding up her claws

"Anyway, I've got to get going follow me if you want, don't care I just really want to fight the dragon" Carmine said a more sadistic smile creeping onto her face "I've got tricks up my sleeve for it, bye." Carmine said gleefully as she started running again, her chased scraping across the ground leaving the marks on the ground. As she moved on, she could hear the sound of water running and someone splashing in it and so started to follow the source of the sound before running into a clearing with a fountain in the middle and a girl splashing in the water with tentacles for hair "Ah an Octogal, should of guessed that" Carmine said to herself after turning off her quirk, causing her arms to go back to normal, lose quite a bit of height and get going to its mixture of pink "Hey, Octogal you wanna team up?" Carmine yelled as circled the edge of the clearing, making sure she was well out of splashing range, even a drop on her could be detrimental in the middle of the exam

Carrying on her brisk pace through the maze one thing was becoming increasingly obvious to those observing, somehow this girl had been making every correct turn for the most efficient path to the end of the maze, likely raising question to just what was going on. The longer the test went on the less chance such actions were pure luck with the odds of so many choices being made on point decreasing by the second, in combination with the knowing glint to the girl's eye and confident expression all but confirming the truth must be prior-knowledge somehow.

Several more turns and the castle itself was within view even with the towering hedges in the way with the final obstacle appearing to be a duo of mounted knights side by side taking up the majority of the path, starting their charge as soon as their first target was in sight and fully intent on either trampling it underfoot or striking true with their lances.

*Now how to handle this? hmm well, she could slide underneath...though on dirt? her trousers would get filthy and that simply wouldn't do, to the side was a similar issue with the twigs and leafs a good chance of snagging her outfit, what to do what to do*.

Keeping up the sprint she looked to the size of the weapons directed towards her and made her decision, extending out her free hand in front of her for a moment as the first thrust came downwards her and leaping up at the last moment, running down the length of the shaft and upwards again through the narrow gap between the heads of the automation, using the swing of her. As she was passing the head, however, the second lance was coming in close having tracked her and about to strike her dead on, however a quick-shifting of her weight and swinging the case around allowed her to adjust position mid-air leading to instead the lance passing by with a sparkling sound as it appeared to graze her though also heading straight into the other knight.

Landing on her feet at the other side she carries on the sprint until arriving at the large gate of what she assumes to be the dragons keep, well it was an interesting path but they did say it would take three at a time...so until that point she better take a seat and wait for the rest. Pulling out a small mirror from her pocket she looks over her face slightly before a small look of annoyance can be seen as she focuses in on a black smudge along with her chin, forcing her to quickly extract what appears to be a wet nap to clean the offending area, now a blemish like that really would not do.

The final scene upon the cameras now appears to be them once again upon the same collapsible stool with a new cup of tea in her hands just across the line for the dragon room awaiting two additional participants, likely raising even more questions within the control room.

Angel's eyes narrowed at the problem set before her. Two cavalry knights, both on horseback with lances pointed at her from opposite sides. They charged, mechanical hooves thundering loudly as they bore down on her, giving her little time to formulate a plan. She dodged, rolling out of the way just in time as the two lances scored the earth where she had been standing just moments ago. The horses turned, coming back for a second attempt. Angel would have to think fast if she wanted to beat them before they could do her any more damage. She touched her shoulder and winced, pulling her hand away to reveal a small amount of blood. She'd been too careless, running into the clearing without a thought, only to be taken by surprise by a cavalry knight patrolling the area. It charged her, slicing open her shoulder with its lance before she managed to jump out of the way. She'd managed to escape it by running and hiding inside the hedge, but she now had a nice big scratch which was still slowly oozing blood. No matter. She could still fight.

But that's when an idea suddenly came to her mind. Taking note of where the two knights were, she stood and began to run at the one closest. It didn't seem to realize what she was planning and lowered its lance to charge her once more. But this time, she was ready. Timing it just so, she waited until the knight was within ten feet of her, then, she dove forward, right between the horses legs. As it passed over her, she latched onto its tail and used it to haul herself up onto the metal beast's back. She was now riding right behind the knight. Grabbing it's head, she ripped it from the knight's shoulders. With no head to see, the knight began to swerve out of control. Angel then grabbed the reigns and steered them toward the second knight. Meanwhile, the second knight had spotted her and raised its lance to spear her. But Angel was prepared. As they thundered toward each other she grabbed the lance from her knight's hand and threw it as hard as she could. It sailed through the air and buried itself in the second knights chest, but the knight didn't stop. Finally, just moments before the two knights collided, Angel leapt from the back of her horse and hit the ground, rolling across the grass just as the two knights impaled each other. She could hear the buzzing and popping of circuitry as the two knights, skewered by each other's lances, stood motionless. After a couple minutes, once she was sure they were done for, she rose to her feet and dusted herself off, wincing as she touched her shoulder again. What a pain.

James English

As James ran through the maze, he spent most of his time avoiding all the knights. It was quite disastrous for him that he wasn't allowed to bring his guns. When he first heard this he was shocked, after all, what was he supposed to do without them? Actually, when he first arrived in this... state, he was shocked how many places guns weren't allowed. He had never heard of such a thing after all! James shook his head, he needed to focus on the now, not he yesterday. There would always be something he could do even if the situation seemed bleak. Like right now. For now what he could do is just run away from the robots. Running away was always aright! Especially if he ran them into each other.

After some time, aimlessly running about, and floating up to take a peek over the hedge walls, he found himself at the edge of a clearing. Within was the very cool girl who had been ahead of him at the beginning of the maze. He watched her easily take out the cavalry knights. His eyes widened. So cool. When she rose, dusting herself off he stepped forward, "Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit!" He begins as he trot-floats over, "It was quite exhilarating the way you blue penciled the heck out of the proofs of those knights!" Grinning, he extended his hand towards Angel, "How do you do? The name's James English!" He greets in a friendly way as he attempts to get a handshake out of her. "What might be the lady's name?" He asks with an honest smile.

Danny was in no danger of getting winded but he could quickly tell that keeping up his current tempo wouldn't be an option for long. So he had to do something about the knight chasing him. He knew his Quirk wasn't able to defeat it so that might he had to either somehow lose it or get someone or something else to take it down. In his rush he had stopped checking where he was in direction to the castle so if he wanted to find another student he would have to run into them by luck.

It seemed that he had ended up near a somewhat popular path, hoping that the wreckage of robots would prevent his
pursuer from taking it as well he ran into it. Using the hedge he managed to get past the wreckage easily. Part of him wondered what would happen if the touched the fence, or wall or whatever it was grown around but he doubted doing so would be pleasant.

When Danny had gotten far enough that he was sure he was past the wrecked knight he got out of the hedge and noticed some other student in the distance. In his opinion the guy was dressed rather strange but since he was apparently able to take out one of the knights it seemed like a good idea to join up with him. "Hey you, wait up."

Aquamari happily smiled, quite enjoying her little play time in the fountain. Though fun, the water having fully refreshed her and now she knew she at least would have just enough energy to get through a few more nights and hopefully defeat the dragon once she reached the castle and with the help of course.

The blue haired girl turn to the voice of someone calling out octogirl. Aqua walked over to the edge of the fountain and looked over to the girl which had hair that reminded her of a sunset. 'Wait! Did the girl just asked her if she wanted to team up?!' Aqua thought in her head as she got out of the fountain. "What?! Really?....um yea sure! I would love to team up!" She said with a huge smile really excited to be asked to team up with someone. "Just give me a sec let me put on my shoes…" she said as she did her best to quickly place on the shoes as she hoped about.

Once the shoes where back on the girls feet she ran over to Carmine, excited and eager to continue. "I'm Aquamari." She introduced herself as they started to continue into the maze, with a friendly smile.

The Claw girl had yelled at her before telling Chloe to follow along the trail she had marked with her claws. She had briefly mentioned an idea which had seemed to be going over the hedges but given how tall they were it was quickly dropped. Chloe realized the hedges were tall. Like really tall. Like 30 feet tall.
They were likely this tall to prevent people from doing such an idea. They had made their way to a fountain instead and ended up finding another examinee who had some sort of octopus quirk.
It seemed the girl with the claws and strange appearance wanted the blue haired girl to join them too.
The blue haired girl seemed to have been playing in the water. She didn't seemed to have noticed Chloe so Chloe spoke up.
"Hi I am Chloe! How close do you think we're getting to the castle?"
It was abit strange to see a water fountain just sitting in a maze although perhaps it wasn't strange considering this seemed to have been some kind of garden originally.
"What kind of quirk do you guys got? I can make myself stronger with an aura that also allows me to shoot energy blasts."
The girl with the claws had some sort of transformation quirk. And the other girl seemed to have some sort of Octopus or Squid Physiology.

Perhaps the three of them could take on the dragon when they got to it. She wondered how difficult the dragon would be.

"Carmine, Carmine Falcone, such a pleasure to meet such a unique person here even before we get past the entrance exam." Carmine said with a smile and shook her hand for a brief moment before letting go quickly and being glad that the girl she had previously yelled at come up behind them asking questions which Carmine was quietly grateful for "Well to answer your questions in order, given the water fountain was a landmark I'd say give or take about halfway, then again it might only be like a third of the way if we come across a second landmark before the actual castle" She said in an almost casual manner

"Hehe, that's a pretty cool Quirk, I must say, as for me I have a transformation Quirk, it's called Fire Demon. Watch this." She announces as she once again cocks her arms, growing taller now easily standing taller than either of the two girls near her, her arms going back to claws and her hair turning black and orange "Tada, it turns me into a demon like person, although this is only half of it, can't control it any higher currently. Anyway, I get sharp, very durable claws, the ability to make fire melee weapons and I'm a perfect shield against fire, since I just can heal from most other fire. So if the dragon just spits out fire just get behind me and I can protect ya" She said stifling a cackle at the end "Oh and I have a shorter temper the more demonic I go." Carmine finished explaining staying in her 1/2 demon form "So Ms. Mari, I'm assuming you do something with water and your tentacle hair." Carmine said before letting out a demonic cackle "Hahahahaha, sorry I just realized that if you are a Octopus or Squid person, our little team up has one of each basic Quirk type, I'm a transformation Quirk, Ms. Claire is our Emitter Quirk and you have a Mutation Quirk"

Aquamari had not noticed the other girl at first as the girl with the sunset hair had gathered her attention at first. She happily smiled and looked over towards Chloe who had introduced herself “nice to meet you Chloe and Carmine” she said excitedly as she looked up at the two girls who were much taller than herself. Aqua could not believe not one but two people wanted to team up with her. This was so so exciting and as well teaming up ment that taking down the dragon would be way easier than trying to do it on her own. “Um...yea maybe not too far?...if it's like what Carmine said the fountain might be about half way...it was more open than the rest of the maze..” she added as she jogged a bit in front of the two girls to catch up to them. Being shorter than the other two her steps were less wider.

Aqua rushed in front of the two and started to walk backwards as looked up at the two holding her hands behind her back as Chloe asked them about their quirks and told them what her own quirk was. “Wow you guys! You both have such cool quirks!” she said looking up at them with amazement. Her eyes big and filled with amazement as Carmine transformed into her ½ demon form. Now she was a bit unsure about her quick along with their quirks, her own quirk did not sound as powerful and cool.

Aquamari looked up towards Carmine as she asks her about her quirk.
“Yep, you are right Carmine,...my quirk is Cephalopod Physiology...or thats what my mom would call it…” she said looking up at them with a smile “well...I am basically like an octopus” she said with a chuckle “I even have tentacles” she said spinning around as her blue tentacles slightly stretched out. She now faces the same way as Carmine and Chloe as they turn the corner. “I am also very flexible, have ink...and a bit of water usage...although I still need to practice” she said with a chuckle as she rubbed the back of her head.
