Time has come for iluvia to get its next great king. All previous Kings were selected from their Harvest and remained kings for the rest of their life. The term King is gender neutral here because iluvia there is no royal family or body that possesses the right of dominion. Kings can establish their own family's but the right lies not in blood but in chance. After a king dies new children are born powers that give them superiority over ordinary men. There is a high council which is formed after king's death made up of scholars given by a popular vote taken by the citizens of iluvia.
Those who have been chosen in the harvest by God himself are then given tests and education from the high council and finally the king is chosen. Many people have often wondered what makes the kings of iluvia so great. There was never a bad King. Some assumed it was the work of God. Others, more educated, remained skeptical of this answer ,however, they could deny richness of their country's greatness.
Imagine a pangea-like continent ruled by a single city-state. The previous King,Olaf, ruled it all with no advisor save his wife. Olaf had the ability to see people's naked unconscious in his dreams. To Olaf everyone had been naked and no one dared lie in his presence. He could have used this ability to destroy rather than mend the broken like he did. To Olaf everyone was vulnerable yet this did not make him feared but admired. It has been said that each kings's life thus far has been a testament to God's love for his people and none more so than Olaf's.
Officially, iluvia has no government religion and is legally secular. This due in part to the first king Samantha's warnings of the dangers of establishing such an institution. There are no churches or any type of religious paraphernalia one could connect to some type of organized religion. People just couldn't understand how things worked so they offered explanations ranging from crazy to super crazy but it was just simple jest.
