Fandom Star Wars: Cold War

l2liHsx.jpg

The year is 3647 BBY on the Jedi home world of Tython.

It has been 6 years since the Treaty of Coruscant was signed. A peace agreement that brought an end to the Great Galactic War in 3653 BBY.

The Galactic Republic was strongarmed into the treaty following the twenty-eight year conflict with the Sith Empire that saw the galactic government crumble under the pressures of war and economic struggles. The concept of a cessation of hostilities between the Republic and Empire was first proposed by the Sith Dark Council, under the leadership of the Sith Emperor. Although wary of possible ulterior motives, the Republic's Galactic Senate accepted the offer out of desperation. The two governments organized a summit to take place on the Core World of Alderaan, where delegations from both factions would meet to deliberate the terms of peace.

While representatives of the Empire and the Republic conferred, the Sith launched an unexpected assault on the Republic capital world of Coruscant. The Sacking of Coruscant placed the Republic's capital firmly under the control of the Sith Empire, and gave the Imperial delegation on Alderaan the leverage they needed in order to demand the Republic's surrender of the war. The leader of the Imperial delegation—the Sith Lord Darth Baras—authored the Treaty of Coruscant and presented it to the representatives of the Senate and the Jedi Order for their signatures. They signed the document, ending the Great Galactic War and declaring the Sith Empire as the victor.

The treaty divided the galaxy in two and demanded that all Republic forces and Jedi withdraw from open conflict with the Empire and that the Senate cede a number of outlying worlds to the Sith. The agreement was heavily opposed by certain interests within the Republic, including Jedi Master Dar'Nala, General Elin Garza of the Republic Military, and the Royal House of Alderaan. Such opposition to the treaty has led to the initiation of a galactic Cold War.

Covert operations and boarder skirmishes continue... bringing with them the constant threat of reigniting a catastrophic war.

COLD WAR
i4c7cPg.jpg

The Cold War was an intense eleven-year standoff between the Sith Empireand the Galactic Republic after 3653 BBY. The Treaty of Coruscant ended the Great Galactic War, sealing the Sith Empire's victory. Peace was gained, but tensions between the Empire and the Republic remained high. In the ten years after the War, fear and uncertainty gripped the galaxy. Border skirmishes and proxy wars between the Empire and Republic erupted and the uneasy truce between the two foes appeared to be on the verge of collapse.

The terms of the punitive Treaty of Coruscant called for an immediate ceasefire and the withdrawal of all Republic and Jedi forces from battlefields across the galaxy. As the Treaty went into effect, worlds once allied with the Republic were left defenseless, and were quickly absorbed by the Empire. Coruscant was also placed under the rule of the Sith Empire for a short time.

As the Jedi returned to their ruined temple on Coruscant, they were met by anger on the part of the Senate, who placed blame for the war at the feet of the Order. The Jedi, unable to stay on Coruscant, where public opinion had turned against them, relocated to the world of their origin, Tython. Although his Empire was stronger than ever, the Sith Emperor no longer seemed to desire total conquest. He handed over control of the Empire to the Dark Council, a body of twelve Sith Lords who would oversee the day-to-day affairs of state. The Dark Lord went on to pursue his own mysterious goals as the Sith consolidated their power.

Border skirmishes and proxy wars between the Empire and Republic erupted and the uneasy truce between the two foes appeared to be on the verge of collapse. The conflict included small battles in the Outer Rim and other conflicts fought by proxy. One such conflict was the Civil War on Ord Mantell between the corrupt planetary government that remained loyal to the Republic and a guerrilla force of separatists wishing to secede.

Although the situation could easily have erupted into another galactic conflict, neither side was ready to wage a full-scale war. During the Cold War, Kel Dor Jedi Master Gnost-Dural made a record of the events surrounding the treaty at the behest of the Jedi Council on Tython.

THE TREATY OF CORUSCANT
6xtAk4g.jpg

The Treaty of Coruscant officially ended open hostilities between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire in the Great Galactic War and divided the galaxy between the two superpowers. The treaty established deadlines by which Republic forces and members of the Jedi Order were required to withdraw from battles against the Sith. If these deadlines were not met, Imperial forces were authorized to engage those forces of the Republic which were in violation of the treaty. Harsh restrictions were even placed on Republic personnel who were acting in compliance with the treaty. For instance, all Republic vessels were required to announce their arrival to the airspace above a planet to Imperial authorities.

Furthermore, to ensure compliance with the various clauses of the document, the Empire included a provision that allowed them to assign protocol droids to shadow certain individuals within the Republic and remind them of the mandates of the Treaty of Coruscant.

The peace agreement also dictated that the Republic revoke the membership of a number of outlying worlds, thereby denying them the protection benefits that came with a seat in the Galactic Senate. Additionally, the Sith Dark Council also demanded that the Republic turn over seven star systems that were largely uninhabited and strategically unimportant. Other than the cessation of open warfare, the treaty only benefited the Republic in that it called for an end to the Empire's assault and occupation of Coruscant, the capital of the Galactic Republic. Although it was only a small delegation of diplomats that agreed to the Treaty, the agreement could only be overturned within the Republic by a vote in the Galactic Senate.

ALDERAAN PEACE CONFERENCE
MURmxB7.jpg

The Alderaan peace conference was a meeting between representatives from the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire to discuss an end to the Great Galactic War. The war began after the return of the Empire to known space in 3681 BBY and dragged on for the following three decades. By 3653 BBY, the Sith Emperor sought a quick end to the conflict and directed his Dark Council to extend an offer of peace to the Republic's senate. The Senate, desperate for a reprieve from the devastating war, accepted. Plans were made for a summit to be held on the Core World of Alderaan.

The Sith had no intention of allowing the war to come to a peaceful conclusion however, and so orchestrated the Sacking of Coruscant to take place in conjunction with the peace conference. While the Sith delegation, led by the Sith Lord Darth Baras, met with the Republic delegation led by Cerean Senator Paran Am-Ris, Darth Angral of the Sith Empire lead the attack on the Republic's capital world of Coruscant. The attack ended with Coruscant being held hostage by the Empire, giving Lord Baras the leverage to take control of the negotiations on Alderaan. The Republic delegation was forced to sign the Treaty of Coruscant, which brought an end to the war, but also forced the Republic to withdraw all its forces and rescind support from long-time allies.

SACKING OF CORUSCANT
3qlNWTQ.jpg

The Sacking of Coruscant, also known as the Battle of Coruscant, occurred at the end of the Great Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the resurgent Sith Empire. Centuries after the supposed destruction of the original Empire, a surviving faction of the Sith returned from the Unknown Regions and waged a massive war against the Republic. After decades of fighting, the Republic was overwhelmed and inundated both economically and militarily, while the Empire continued to gain ground.

At what seemed to be the height of their campaign, the Sith surprised the galaxyand extended an offer of peace to the Republic. Although cautious of the Empire's intentions, the Galactic Senate of the Republic accepted the much-needed reprieve. Unbeknownst to the Republic, the Sith had no intention of allowing the war to come to a peaceful conclusion.

While Republic and Imperial delegations convened on Alderaan for treaty negotiations, the Imperial-employed Mandalorian Shae Vizlatraveled to the Republic capital worldof Coruscant and deactivated the planet's defense grid. This allowed for the Sith Lord Darth Malgus to enter the Jedi Temple alongside a group of fifty Sith Warriors and lay siege to the ancient edifice.

The Warriors had a violent altercation with the Temple's Jedi defenders, led by Master Ven Zallow, but were victorious in their mission. With the Jedi defeated, a fleetof Sith warships under the command of the Lord Darth Angral descended upon the planet, bombarding the cityscapeand deploying Imperial soldiers and warriors to the surface. Although the surviving members of the Jedi Orderand the Republic Special Forces Division attempted to defend their capital, the Sith forces overwhelmed them. By the time the fighting had ended, the Jedi Temple had been reduced to rubble, six members of the Jedi High Council had been killed, and Lord Angral had assassinated the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic.

All communications into and out of Coruscant were locked down, leaving the rest of the galaxy to guess at the carnage that was unfolding on the surface.

For two days, the Empire blockadedCoruscant and occupied the world, ruling it under martial law. The Coruscanti people were prohibited from leaving the world, and travel across planet was heavily restricted. DarthAngral became the provisional governor of Coruscant, while his subordinate, Darth Malgus, oversaw the orbital security. During this time, the Sith looted the world, executed Republic senators, and kidnapped a number of locals. On the second day of the occupation, renegade Jedi Knight Aryn Leneer targeted Malgus for his hand in the destruction of the Jedi Temple. Her hunt led to a number of breaches in the security of the Sith quarantine force, but the Imperial hold over Coruscant remained. It was estimated by both Sith and Jedi that the death toll lay somewhere between the tens of thousands and one hundred thousand.

With the Republic's capital securely in their grip, the Empire was able to take command of the negotiations on Alderaan. After the two-day long occupation and the destruction of much of Galactic City, the Republic delegation was forced to sign the controversial Treaty of Coruscant. Although it brought an end to the Great Galactic War and returned the capital to its original occupants, the treaty's highly biased mandates set the stage for the Cold War and forced the Republic into a debilitating position of weakness within the galaxy.

As such, reconstruction of Coruscant was delayed and then drawn out for several years, with residents in the poorer areas of the planet being forced to make a living in the ruin left behind by the Sith. The planet's lower levels fell under gang control, and were largely ignored by the Republic government, which was headquartered on the very same world.

REDISCOVERING TYTHON
Bn8NjWQ.jpg

Soon after the Great Hunt ended, hyperlanes to the planet collapsed and the world was left abandoned for several centuries. Tython had not been forgotten, however; new hyperlanes into the Deep Core were paved in 3651 BBY by Jedi Knight Satele Shan in the wake of the Sacking of Coruscant by the resurgent Sith Empire.

Leading Jedi scouts to reclaim the world, Shan reestablished a Jedi presence on the world, making Tython the Order's fortress world during the Cold War between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic. In the same time period, a group of Twi'lek Pilgrims landed on the world and established a small settlement near to the Jedi headquarters. Constructing their Temple near the ruins of Kaleth, the Jedi kept their distance from the illegal Twi'lek settlement despite pleas from the Matriarch to assist in warding off Flesh Raiders.

SITH EMPIRE
ewEZae5.jpg

After capturing and securing much of the Outer Rim in the early stages of what would become known as the Great Galactic War, the Sith Emperor began preparing for the push towards the Republic's bastion in the Galactic Core. Despite several setbacks in its campaign towards the core, the Empire surged forward once more, crippling the Republic economy through an alliance with the Mandalorian warrior clans.

However the blockade was eventually broken by Hylo Visz, and reinforcements from the Republic which brought the war into another stalemate. After nearly 3 decades of fighting, the Empire surprised the galaxy when the Dark Council extended an offer of peace to the Republic. Desperate, the Republic senate accepted, but during peace talks on Alderaan, the Empire launched a sneak attack on the Republic capital of Coruscant. The attack was a rousing success for the Empire, allowing the Sith to force the Republic to sign their draft of the document that would end the war, the Treaty of Coruscant.

With the war at an end and the Empire stronger than ever, the Emperor retreated from the public view and passed responsibilities of the day-to-day maintenance of the Empire to the Dark Council. As a result of the Empire's co-existence with the Republic, an interstellar Cold War emerged in the immediate aftermath of the Great War, during which time the Empire engaged in proxy battles and small conflicts with the Republic and its allies.

BASIC RULES OF PLAY

Posting

I would like a 2-3 paragraph minimum on your posts. When you're outside of combat, you are welcome to interact and travel as you see fit. If you dream up any NPC's which are there solely to benefit your own descriptive writing, that is fine. If there are known NPC's from whom you would like responses, please tag them as such and I will happily post on their behalf.

Combat

When it comes to fighting, all attacks must be attempted and tagged appropriately. When you have made your post, use the RPNation Dice Roller to roll 1d20 (1 dice of 20 faces), and I will post the result of your attacks based on skill modifications, immediately after your posts.

#ranged attack

#melee attack

#force attack

For example:

Saru: Attempts lightsaber strike.

DM: Strike successful/unsuccessful.

Lurker: Attempts blaster shot.

DM: Strike successful/unsuccessful.

Kali: Attempts Battle Meditation to boost her allies and demotivated her enemies.

DM: Enemies successfully demotivated.

NPCs & Responses

If there any named NPCs (Pilots, Soldiers, Captured Enemies etc) that anyone would like a response from, just #tag it at the bottom of your post.

For example:

"Pressing his blaster to the soldiers temple, he threateningly asked where the prisoners were being held."

#response

That way, I will be able to reply as that NPC.

Skills

When it comes to utilising your chosen skills in your posts, just use the same attempt mechanic for the battle system. Attempt to unlock the door, and use the RPNation Dice Roller to roll 1d20. I will respond letting you all know whether it was successful or not. Simple.

You can also tag it just to make sure I notice.

#repair

#security

Rotation Mechanic

Posting will not be messy in any of my games. When people are constantly posting over each other, things get lost and generally untameable.

This is a story, and we all have to play our parts.

Whichever order everyone posts their introductions is the order that I would like to run with outside of combat. I understand that if conversations are taking place, or actions outside of combat... it's useless for people to post while their characters are doing nothing. That is fine, so long as it's cleared with everyone in the OOC Thread.

In general. Everyone takes their turn and waits until the order comes back around to post again. I will post as a response between each of you guys, when it is necessary.

I'll also post random encounters and any NPC dialogue that is needed.

History

I do not know your characters. I do not know what your characters are going to do. I do not know if your characters are going to survive.

So work hard on how you portray this Jedi, or Bounty Hunter, or Soldier or whatever. I like character development. And I like being able to weave it into the story I have in mind.

Good luck folks, and don't worry too much about getting everything right the first time around.

We all learn together!

KALIRA "KALI" TORWYN

This was the first time Kali had set foot on Tython, having been born and raised strictly on Coruscant. It was lucky she learned how to fly a ship back home, having stolen one of the Empire's small ones to escape the planet. The Force was protecting her that day, she had thought she would go down fighting and killing every last soldier, which to this day she called her "Great Shame." How would Master "Uncle" Cole feel if he'd seen her lose herself to the anger and hatred born in her heart that day when she lost everything? No, she knew damn well he would have been to ashamed to even look at her. But after six years, she wanted redemption from her mistake, but also, to find out what became of Master Cole and her family members back home. First things first though: she wanted to go to the Jedi Fortress in Tython.

The Jedi Knight wanted to seek out Jedi Knight Shan, the man who sort of revived the Fortress and made it the new Headquarters of the Jedi. She wanted to ask him if he has seen Master Cole, if there was any word on Coruscant and what the events were there. She also felt the strong need to tell him of her folly, but her shame-or pride?-would not allow such a thing. Trekking through the heavy greenery, she stayed low and alert for any oncoming danger. Supposedly there was a settlement here, less than friendly from what she heard. But she came all this way from her hideout in Tattooine, and she wasn't about to turn tail and back. She was going to be redeemed, and she would avenge her Master and her family if need be.

The bounty hunter stepped off his ship, taking a deep breath. He had been cramped up in that ship for far too long. This was finally his chance though. For the first time since he'd been tracking her, Mark knew without a doubt Kalira was on this planet. It's about time, I was getting tired of chasing her across the galaxy. It's too bad this place has so many Jedi crawling around it. They're just going to get in my way. I wonder where I should start. I guess the best course of action would be to go talk to the Twi'lek refugees. With that thought Mark's implant sprung into action. A display popped up with an arrow pointing the direction the camp was in. Sometimes Mark didn't know what he'd do without it. The man took one last look around before he started walking.

While walking, Mark decided to pull up the mission details. This text too scrolled down his eye as he read. He didn't need to read them, he had already done so a hundred times. Reading up on his target had just always helped him relax. Your target is the young jedi known as Kalira Torwyn. She was last seen stealing one of the empire's ships. Kalira murdered everyone on board, use extreme caution when capturing her. She shows great potential in joining the dark side. You are not to harm her. If any harm befalls her while under your watch your reward will be reduced by 75%. Mark sighed audibly at that last part. Yeah sure. I'll somehow capture someone that can use the force without hurting her. I'm good at what I do but even I have my limits. Damn sith, always underestimating Jedi. After the rest of the details flashed by there was a picture of Kali. It was from the security footage before she stole the ship. Mark's cybernetic eye began moving about, downloading the picture into a hologram projector he carried.

Once Mark saw the refugee camp, he went and looked for higher ground. Once he found a good vantage point, his eye zoomed in to scan the area. Hmm. Don't see any Jedi yet. That's a good sign. The cyborg continued scanning the area until he was sure there were no Jedi there. He made his way into the refugee camp, drawing a confused look from many of the Twi'lek. Mark shrugged it off, he was used to getting strange looks. He walked up to the nearest Twi'lek, pulling the hologram out of his pocket. He clicked it to life, the zoomed in image of Kali being displayed. The bounty hunter held it up for the Twi'lek to see it clearly before he asked his question."Have you seen this girl? There's credits in it for you if you can give me any information."

It was the first time Zeres had ever set foot on Tython. He had read about the planet in the archives on Coruscant. It was the home of the precursors to the Jedi; the Je'daii, and was incredibly rich in the Force. He looked to the sky, and watched as a Hook Hawk flew into the distance far overhead. The huge curved beak and razor sharp talons were glistening red with blood, as it carried off some sort of smaller scurrying creature. Zeres bid his protocol droid farewell, giving it strict instruction to remain with the ship until he had made contact with the Jedi Council, and he bounded off, heading up the broken stairs leading to the dilapidated structure, only recently reclaimed. The air was cool and a gentle wind gave Zeres chills, since he had spent the last year back home on Jakku, training his mind and his body for combating Dark Jedi.

Two years had passed since Master Ipsim died saving Zeres. Two years of grueling training ensued, the moment after Zeres took up the yellow crystal, and title of Sentinel. From then, he spent an entire year in and out of the Archives, learning anything and everything he could about the galaxy, the Force, and the Dark Side, in order to find some way to combat it at the source. Zeres wasn't a fool, and he could see it was a losing battle going head to head with the Sith. The Jedi had to find a way to bring the Dark into the Light, and bring back former allies, and new ones too, and win the war of attrition. After returning to Jakku, Zeres was embarssed to learn he spent almost an entire year meditating, and was unaware of the conflict going on between the Republic and Sith. It was because of this, ironically, Zeres learned of his abilities to use Morichro, and suspend his body for long periods of time.

Zeres reached the top of the staircase, and was met by two Jedi guarding the entrance to the Temple. He pulled down the hood of his cloak and smiled at the guards, and spoke.
"Good afternoon, gentlemen. Jedi Knight Zeres Celsis here to assist however I might."

Twi'lek Refugee

tumblr_inline_ncsc7tQKOg1sircyi.png

Shocked by the approach, one solitary Twi'lek turned to face the Bounty Hunter. Choking on the beginning of a sentence, he straightened himself to a more appropriate stature.

"Welcome, stranger. I am Oohubbeva."

Studying the holocron, his eyes flickered. The young girl was not familiar, and his mannerisms released that information to his detriment.

"It is possible I have seen the girl you seek, here on Tython. It was of course some time ago, and she may have moved on since. But perhaps an offer would refresh my memory?"

He feigned a smile, while swallowing.

These refugees may not have great need for credits in the current climate, but they could be put to good use in other ventures. There were those in the galaxy who still treated credits for what they were, and they were less friendly than most.

Jedi Temple

TythonJediTemple-TOR.jpeg

There were three cloaked figures that stood sentry to the temple. Two remained still as statues while the shorter among them stepped forward to greet the approaching Jedi.

"Greetings Master Zeres. Your help is of course welcome here on Tython."

Glancing briefly to the hooded figure on his right, the short man blinked and turned back to retain a solid stare on the alleged Jedi Sentinal. Incessant attempts at infiltrating this sector had sent the Republic on edge, and it was clear these Jedi had not gone unaffected.

"May I ask what brings you to our sanctuary? Have you those seeking asylum? News from the capital?"

"Please, please, no need to use any kind of title." He spoke very calmly, and gave the man a warm smile, holding out his hand. Zeres took the hand of the Jedi before him and shook it stiffly. It was strange, and it took Zeres until now to realize it, but the entire Force in this area was permeated with an air of discomfort and fear. It was exceedingly clear to Zeres that this area wasn't exactly beloved, and the fear of the Sith was taking the hearts and minds of the inhabitants by storm. A challenge fit for a Sentinel, if he did say so himself. He might be new at the whole peace-keeping Sentinel style, but he wasn't going to let that get him down. He knew his strengths, and he was going to use them to get a foothold into Tython, and use that as his jump point for helping to bring the Cold War to an end.

Zeres returned his attention to the conversation, using the Force to momentarily accelerate his thoughts, so that only a second had passed since he had shaken the hand, and made all of his observations.
"As I said before, I'm here to help with whatever I can. Perhaps regroup with a few of my old buddies who had fought in the war." He rubbed the back of his head after releasing the man from his handshake. "I kinda spent two years on Jakku, doing just about nothing while the war came to a close. I'd also like to see what records we have of the conflict so that I might start planning countermeasures for possible Sith attack, and so that I might start finding weakness in Sith tech." Zeres did and extremely well hidden motion with his hand, initiating a very small Mind Trick. "You will also take me on a tour of the facilities, ending with the Jedi Council's room. I request an audience with the Council." The Mind Trick held no malicious intent behind it, but Zeres knew he was taking a risk in initiating it. He simply wanted to expedite the process, and to test the mental fortitude of the Jedi guarding the entrance.

It was the late Caamasi jedi master Anwe who had taught Ki Fenn everything he knew about the force and played a role in his path in life as a Jedi. Master Anwe took a young Ki under her wing and he would become her padawan, she was a peaceful and powerful woman who was a capable combatant able to use the force with such power and skill that it was shocking to others.... She was a pacifist just as her people were known for and to be. But was in possesion of great knowledge about the force and had skills not many had or all used making her a surprising opponent for many unknowing of her ability and taking her race at face value instead of looking beyond. Anwe was a Jedi consular and seer who taught Ki about life, politics, the force and helped Ki select his path as a Jedi. She taught him about sense, sight and battle meditation with the use of the force and how to alter environments and conceal ones self, master Anwe taught him about power and how it came in more then one form and that even the most powerful being can be bested through patience, wit and durability. It did not require for you to best and overpower them but instead to merely survive and outlast, to outwit and class your foe.... Make them defeat you and waste the energy and strength to achieve the feat. Ki took her lessons to heart and so would he become a man of a specialized set of skills and focusing on lightsaber combat to the point of placing a great amount time and effort placed within his studies and practice in each of the forms. He knew he wasn't as powerful with the force as his master Anwe and he lacked many of her abilities with the force so far in his life, while also having a curiosity and want to learn more about Swordsmanship and footwork, finesse and a form of focus and detail that was different from using the force, it required not power but skill. Eventually when it came to that point for him to select his path, Ki took to meditation, study, contemplation and allowing a clearing as well as time to aid him in selecting his path. It wasn't easy for him to choose, he found himself relating to multiple paths and sub categories in each role for a Jedi to select. Eventually he selected the role of jedi guardian and more specifically as a Jedi instructor, a role that had a combination of consular and guardian within the role. Though he still considered himself not defined by soley being a Jedi guardian nor would he have if having selected jedi sentenial or jedi consular, but he found himself best fitting the role of instructor and allowed a opportunity to pursue one of his greatest goals in becoming the next battlemaster for the jedi order.

Presently now spending his time between missions, tasks and teaching young jedi about the seven forms of lightsaber combat while seeing and watching for their weaknesses and helping them avoid temptation of the dark side. master Ki Fenn has been relatively busy and has divided his attention to multiple roles and tasks, while meditating often to clear his mind and achieve a inner peace to retain his mood and maintain his level head without succumbing to stress of the situation and the war that yet loomed in his mind. A war that had claimed his master and many others since its start.

Walking the halls of the temple on Tython, Ki looked ahead seeing a few padawans cross the halls before him. While younger jedi in training headed for their respective destinations, wether it was rooms, outdoors to play or perhaps study. He continued on toward the library as each age of students went on their way, thoughts running through his mind and a calmness about him remaining as he did. Through it all and despite his concerns Ki Fenn kept himself collected and quiet, when he approached the library and walked into the great room of knowledge and vast number of records. Ki continued his steps and hearing them sound while down each aisle of records, looking up and side to side, then down seeming to have a particular record or book in mind.

"Hmm.... Ahh yes here it is," Ki thought and grabbed his choice of knowledge and history, proceeding toward a near table and sat himself down to quietly begin reading.

When Zeres had completed his response, making his intentions clear, one of the rear guards made movements toward the shorter of their group. Leaning in slowly, he whispered something.

The short man listened intently, before smiling to Zeres and opening his arms graciously.

"We are aware of your true intentions, and will of course provide any resources you require for your research."

Turning, he walked toward the temple entrance and through the remaining guards on either side. It was a grand hall, beautiful to behold and fitting of the order to whom it gave birth. The temple was far from bustling, but there were figures and voices in the distance. Slowing, the man turned to Zeres and removed his hood. He was human, old... and visibly balding. Despite his status, perhaps some pride remained, as his refusal to accept hair loss clearly proved.

"I am Jedi Master Gelrin, and I am pleased to welcome you to our temple."

Coming to a slow halt, he peered up at the young man with an earnest rosy cheeked smile and spoke.

"May the force guide you, Zeres... and where that fails, may I be at hand for support."

Smirking, a brief hand movement sent waves of power in a cyclone of wind toward the Sentinal. Air gathered around him, and whipped his robes gently.

Mark groaned inwardly. He could already tell as soon as this idiot opened his mouth to speak that he would have been no help. He changed his tactics instantly, clicking the button to make the hologram disappear. I mean really, who does this guy think he's talking to? I'm the one that invented that move. Oh well, I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Mark offered the Twi'lek the best smile he could fake. The cyborg had thought about threatening Oohubbeva but decided against it. They outnumber me by quite a few here. Would be best to avoid a shootout. Well let's see if we can give this guy some of the ol' Trueshot charm then.

While still flashing his pearly whites, Mark spoke. "Oohubbeva, you seem like a smart guy so I'll offer you a different deal. How about if you direct me to someone that knows where she is now, I'll give you five thousand credits after I retrieve the girl." It was a lie of course. mark would never hand over 'promised' credits. If you want something so badly you should get it beforehand. Oh well, let's hope this works. I really don't want to have to just wait for her to show up at the jedi temple. Tom waited patiently for the Twi'lek's reply to his generous offer.

The cruiser was quiet, and Naka'il liked it that way. The passengers were sound asleep and the crew was in the graveyard shift. Now was the only real time she had to sneak out of her hiding place and, liberate, some supplies. While she hated to steal, she justified it by the fact that she was actually providing security, something a refugee ship headed to Tython desperately needed. Besides, she had paid her fare, albeit through hiding a stash of credits that the crew would think forgotten. But now was not the time for moral debate. She had spent six years meditating on that. Now was the time for action. She walked like a ghost, hood up, hoping to be mistaken for a passenger if spotted. She snuck into the kitchen and allowed herself the luxury of sitting down, unslinging the long Ryyk blade from her back. While its weight was familiar and at times comforting, having in constantly strapped to her back, in her already uncomfortable hiding place had become a bit of a pain. Sighing and stretching with relief she pulled out a stale looking nutriloaf. Suddenly she missed spider meat. Thankfully she did still have one thing from Kashyyk, happily she pulled out A small bottle of red liquid and dabbed a drop of it on the loaf. Kallabow's special sauce. The wookie had insisted she at least take a bottle of his home brewed sauce if she would really accept no other help, after insisting she was a jedi and flavored food was an indulgence, she was called on her crap. So she took the bottle as a gift and boarded the first of many ships on her way to... wherever.

As she bit into the now deliciously spicy-sweet loaf, she meditated on what had brought her across the galaxy. At first she boarded ships at random, trying to do as the force directed her, following trails of coincidences. In her meditation, she found connections in even the smallest occurrences, a root here, a skeleton there. The smallest trails to the greatest trees. Sensing the force in the way a single drop of water fell in the dark forest. And now the trail of small, but strong coincidences had led her to this point. A ship to Tython of all places, but Nako'il felt significance in it. So she stowed away. She finished off the loaf eagerly then reclaimed her blade. They would be landing tomorrow, she needed to be ready.

Upon landing she waited until the ship was deserted then slipped out of the loading dock as the crew celebrated elsewhere. Stealthily she snuck to the edge of the refugee camp were she saw something odd. Someone who stood out. A cyborg. A heavily armed one at that. Talking to a twi'lek and bribing him for information? intresting. She drew close to them, hood up. Hoping the large blade on her back would keep her from being mistaken as a jedi.

It was well known that the refugees on Tython had not journeyed there by choice. Many Twi'lek were forced to seek asylum during the Great Galactic War, and their years on Tython, though safe, had not been prosperous.

"This many credits would do more for this community than you could possibly know."

He appeared honest with what he said, and for a moment ransacked his memory for anything with genuine use. His eyes portrayed a great desire for the knowledge Mark sought. Had he truly known the whereabouts of this young Jedi, he could put that money toward helping his people.

A noise from the nearby brush interrupted their conversation, and introduced the form of a young woman to their eyes. Perhaps in his desperation to help, or perhaps in fear of being seen as a liar, the Twi'lek made use of her approach.

"Ah! I have seen the young one you seek with this woman many times here on Tython. If you desire information, I would be inclined to ask her."

At least the gate guards weren't pushovers, and for that much Zeres was happy. He bid the balding man farewell, giving a dip of the head and took in the sights of the grand hall. A huge ceiling, Jedi bustling to a fro, making sure everything was in line and in order. Truly, it made Zeres happy to see that the Order was still in one piece and in good spirits after such a devastating war that claimed many lives, and the life of his Master too. Something he pushed deep into the depths of his soul for fueling his journey. Still, the air in this place was one of discomfort. The Jedi were hard at work and keeping themselves busy, which was helping, but an feeling of fear and distrust permeated the entire Temple. It was as if the Jedi here were waiting for some kind of attack, some kind of betrayal. It was almost as if they were begging for it, so that their fears could be validated, and they weren't waiting for something that would never come.

Zeres thanked his stars he had used his Morichro on Jakku for the past sixth months. He was really able to bring himself fully into the Light and make himself become one with the Force. In fact, Zeres could feel his calmness seeping into the room, like a drop of dye into a pool of water, and it made him happy. He headed up the stairs, and after asking a nearby Padawan, he was guided to the Council room, where he stood outside the doorway. Whether or not the council was there was yet to be soon, but he hoped they were there, so he knocked on the door.

KALIRA "KALI" TORWYN

At long last, she spotted the Great Fortress in the distance, along with the Twi'lek camp nearby. She would have to stay far from the camp and keep to the woods, and she did just that until the front gates caught her eye, seeing a Twi'lek speak what appeared to be a cyborg and with them, a woman. She felt the need to listen in on them, after all not many would just stroll up to a camp like this unless it was urgent. What could it be? News of some sort, had the empire done something now?! Damn them all!

Keeping low, she would take great caution and stealth so she would not be seen, and just in case she would use Alter image to make herself look like her old Master, Cole Ragnos, for he had not been seen in six years and to her knowledge had never been found. She always used this trick on herself, for she wasn't stupid and surely knew after her murdering many Imperial Soldiers and stealing their ship, they would stop at nothing until she was found. She would attempt Alter Image just before using Force Listening to find out what was going on.

Jedi Council Chambers

From within the chamber echoes one solitary voice. It is not recognisable at first, but merges softly into a mumbling phrase in Galactic Basic. The figure within wore a brown robe, with his hood drawn. On his face, some form of apparatus covered his face and eyes, seemingly fused to his coral coloured skin. A moment later, the figure turned to Zeres and bowed gently.

"If it is council you seek, then council you may have... though the nature of my work sees to my whereabouts. For now, I am here. What is it you wish from me?"

Onlookers to this approaching figure would see the shape of a man who had not been seen in 6 years.

Zeres stepped into the chamber, and returned his bow, taking in the room momentarily. It was dark, and the figure was seated behind a desk. Was this the legendary Knight Shan who had rediscovered this place? Zeres went forward assuming this, and spoke. "Knight Shan, I assume? It's a pleasure to meet you face to face." Without waiting for a reply, as not to waste the man's time, Zeres continued. "I'm simply here to get a grips on the whole situation. I've come out of a nearly year-long hibernation recently while honing my Morichro ability, and wanted to know the situation, and how I could help." Zeres was pacing the room as he said this, and began prodding some device on a shelf on the wall, hoping after he did so it wasn't explosive. He cleared his throat, and continued. "Whether or not you know me is unimportant." He whipped out his lightsaber and extended the blade out to his side, presenting it for the man to see. It gave off a gentle yellow glow, and hummed gracefully. Zeres snapped the button on the curved handle after a moment and it retracted, where he snapped it back onto his belt. "As you can see, I am a Sentinel, and I am now at your service." Zeres took a knee before the man, and lowered his head in reverence. "I am also trained as a Paladin, so fear not in sending me out to the battlefield if need be."

Avaro, a young Rodian Padawan, was travelling the vast isles of the Jedi archive with what appeared to be a rather flimsy excuse for a protocol droid. It cranked and buzzed with every strenuous action, serving as a rather poor companion for a quiet place of study.

Passing the seated Cerean male, the droid abruptly hissed and came to a halt. It would appear for all intents that his batteries had failed, and it would take little to believe this was not the first time.

Avaro stomped his foot childishly, and turned to inspect the clumsy machine, though grinning at its demise. "If you can make an entire cycle without malfunctioning, I promise to install that new hardware we talked about. Now how does that sound?"

The noise came as that of a struggling engine gasping for life, as the droids head rose and tilted. He spat a somewhat pleasant reply in Avaro's native Rodian tongue, before bowing his head in the most gracious fashion he could.

The Padawan turned to Ki, and bowed his own green cranium. "I apologise for interrupting your study, Master Jedi. I too find the enclave a most interesting place. There are many great stories here, and lessons to be learned. My name is Avaro, personal assistant to Gnost-Dural, the keeper of these archives. If I may be of any help to you, please do not hesitate to ask."

Peering to the text, Avaro, lingered and cleared his throat... as though to re announce his whereabouts. "May I enquire as to what you are studying, sir?"

It was then, that a small blue apparition appeared from the panel on Ki's table. It was a projection of Master Dural.

"Avaro, please come to the council quarters immediately, I have questions for our visitor that I would have you... oh. I see we are graced by more than one visitor today."

His form turned to the Cerean, and back to Avaro.

"Please ask Master Fenn to join you. I am sure he would be happy to oblige... and Avaro, please leave the droid."

Gnost-Dural

3942870-1521591832-37761.jpg

A deep chuckle rose from the rebreather that adorned his lower face, and with a smooth motion he lowered the great hood covering his bald pink-orange head.

"It is with great remorse that I must disappoint you, young Jedi. My name is Gnost-Dural, and I have been charged with remaining here on the enclave for the remainder of this moon's cycle. I am a member of this council, yes, but as the keeper of the archives it is my duty to record the events of our current standstill with the Empire."

He pressed a button on his table, and a small image of a Rodian Padawan appeared in blue.

"Avaro, please come to the council quarters immediately, I have questions for our visitor that I would have you... oh. I see we are graced by more than one visitor today."

He eyed the other figure that sat next to his assistant.

"Please ask Master Fenn to join you. I am sure he would be happy to oblige... and Avaro, please leave the droid."

Turning to Zeres, he shook his head woefully.

"Avaro is wonderful help.. but he keeps unfortunate company. I am sure you won't mind a few questions?"

Zeres watched as the man addressed the small figure on his desk, scratching his chin in thought. He could have sworn that the man before him would have been the one who had rediscovered this Temple. Huh. Strange. He pushed the thought out of his mind and refocused at the old Master addressed him. Master Dural. Zeres had heard of some of his exploits before, but was not intimate with any of the details in his life or what he was worth to the Council at large. He would have to look that up later.

Zeres chuckled gently when the man addressed him.
"Of course I won't mind any questions. I remember my time as a Padawan. The world seemed so vibrant then, with so much unknown." He bowed his head gently at his previous mistake. "Apologies, though, for the mistake. I was working off of the assumption that this Temple was run by the one who discovered it recently. Would Knight Shan still be present? I'd very much like to discuss his findings here, and what he thinks about installing new defensive structures." He paused briefly, and waited for the people Master Dural had paged to enter the room.

Ki was seemingly aware but also quite focused on his reading, he had since gathered a few different texts and records to the first of choice and reading. All were records of time past and masters long since passed and they're histories and findings recorded in the history and left here in the well kept and maintained archives at the temples archives. Master Ki Fenn had been studying they're history and going over the findings and different discoveries they had come to make and find, the experiences they had in their time. Not all were heroic legends of times past their were important figures throughout history, some having made important findings and discoveries, playing roles long since forgotten or left for history to retain memory of, all were of interest to Ki just as all of history and pieces of and facts of knowledge.

As Ki Fenn sat quietly reading and eying the room from time to time, while he sat in his chair and read Ki began to notice the presence of another.... A curious droid following along with a young rodian padawan who passed by him with the droid, a work of technology and machine that seemed rather poor compared to other droids, as it passed a hiss and halt of motion came about, 'batteries perhaps had failed.... Though probably not for the first time according to appearance.' Ki thought as he turned in his chair and looked toward the droid and inspected it, then to the young padawan who stomped his foot and spoke to his droid. A offering to please the droid and the protocol droid seemed pleased and responded in rodian tongue with a bow of his head, the young padawan then turned to Ki and bowed his own cranium. "Oh that is all without trouble young padawan." Ki responded in kind and raised his hand up toward the young rodian.

"Indeed the archive is the very sanctuary for minds of the curious and those of interested nature for history and knowlege." He continued and lowered his hand and gave a smile to the padawans shared opinion of the archive. " It would be of well meeting, Avaro." Ki spoke in reply to him and his introduction, "I am Ki Fenn, though I see your aware of my place and standing of being a jedi. You mentioned being a assistant to master Gnost-Dural, your knowledge must be quite well in knowing of the archives and all its records." Ki Fenn spoke in kind and recalled master Gnost-Dural. " A number of texts about masters of the order long passed, the discoveries and tales they have found and experienced in they're time. As well as the connection to one another or the connection I hope to find." Ki responded happily, it was refreshing to meet a young mind with a shared opinion and interests about such related topics as the archive and stories.

Upon answering the young rodian padawans enquiry, Ki turned to the small projection from the tables panel. He noticed the appearance of master Dural and came quiet, allowing him the silence to speak without interruption. He gave a bow of his head at the request from master dural and looked to Avaro and his droid, " Well it would come to our attention that Master Dural has need of our presence. Shall we leave at once Avaro?" He spoke to the lad and rose from his chair. "I shall see to these later and continue my study then. Greetings and fair parting droid," Ki spoke with a smile and looking to the droid before departing from his postion and heading for the council room with Avaro likely beside or back of him or catching up to take a leading postion before him on way toward the councils chambers.

Upon nearing the room and entering with a casual and respectful pace and volume. Master Ki noticed the previously mentioned visitor waiting for them in likelihood of what Ki Fenn gathered from his notice and previous learned information. He gave a bow of his head and looked about the room for just a moment before speaking. "Master Dural.... Greetings and greetings to you as well visitor." Ki spoke with calm and respectful tone while keeping his focus about the room as a whole. " I understand you have asked of young Avaro and myself to come to your quarters and see our visitor, perhaps and I recall a question mentioned as well?" Ki Fenn asked calmly and stood still with his arms folded before him and hands tucked into each sleeve of his robes while his hood remained down.

Mark turned around to see who the woman the Twi'lek referring to was. he arched an eyebrow when he saw her. Where did you come from? I scanned this area pretty thoroughly. That's suspicious. Mark first gave a short thanks over his shoulder to the Twi'lek that had helped him before addressing the woman. "Ah, hello there madam. The name is Mark Trueshot. I'm looking for my ah...Friend. Her name is Kaliira Torwyn. My good friend Oohubbeva here tells me you might know where she is." After he finished speaking the bounty hunter reached back into his pocket, pulling out the holocron. He clicked the image that showed Kalira to life, studying the girls face for any recognition.

As Mark was waiting for the girl's reply he noticed a man over her shoulder. The cybernetic eye instantly jolted into action, zooming in on the man. Who is this now? Where did these two come from? Oh well, if this girl doesn't know where Kalira is maybe he will. Those clothes though...Is that man a jedi? What is he doing all the way out here? Mark returned his attention back to the stranger. He still held the hologram of Kalira in plain view for anyone in the refuge to see, including Kali herself.

(I don't know if I can do an awareness/perception check to know if Naka'il is a jedi. If I can I'll do it in next post.)

Naka'Il rolled her eyes at the Twilek and pulled her hood down a little so the bounty hunter couldn't see her face. "I'm no Madam," she said wryly "but I'll take a look." She stared at the image intently. it was a girl, about ten years younger then her. She could vaguely remember a youngling named Kali back in the jedi temple, when she was just an apprentice. She had loved younglings, still did though it had been a decade since she last saw the scamps. And her master had never approved of her playing with them. Play made her weak. Naka'Il shook her head, both to shake the hate and bile thoughts of her master out and to indicate a negative. "Never seen her. I think you just got suckered out of 5000 credits." She said smoothly but as she shook her head, something caught her eye, Master Ragnos. But...not. Ragnos would never be caught, and would probably attack her on sight. It was someone disguising his or her self. Subtly she shifted her blade so it could be drawn a half-flinch faster. "Plenty of jedi at the temple though why not look there?"

KALIRA "KALI" TORWYN

It seemed she/he managed to get spotted. So much for her stealth, and her Force Hearing wasn't cooperating at all. At least she had Alter Image up now, of her old Master Cole, who was seen as a kind man with a great sense of humor back in the day, though he knew well when to joke and when to take a more serious approach. She knew her "uncle" Cole well enough to pass as him, she did it all the time back on-ironically his home planet-Tattooine.

Coming out of the jungle, "Cole", a man in his mid forties with dark greying hair just barely touching his shoulders, dark brown eyes and a beard the exact same colors as his hair. "He" approached the party with a kindly smile on his face, his eyes bright with humor behind them. "Greetings!" He looked to the woman first,. "Are you on your way to the fortress by any chance?"

He then looked down at the Bounty Hunter's image of herself, and her blood ran cold. Of all the damned planets to go to, the Empire's lackey hunter comes here. Great, what were the chances! "That's..." "His" eyes narrowed in question to the Bounty Hunter, "What is it you want with this girl?" If need be, she was ready to use Mind Trick on this bounty hunter to get him onto another planet. The Empire wasn't going to get her, not now, not ever.

Bowing his head to both Avaro and Ki Fenn, Master Dural raised his right hand in a gesture with which the young assistant was all to familiar. The Rodian immediately stepped forward to removed a small data pad from a drawer section in the wall, and turned to face both Ki and Zeres.

Master Dural to both the men, as one, and allowed Avaro to record their answers.

"I would like to ask what brought each of you to our sanctuary on this day. There has been a tangible shift in the Force, and you may understand my concern."

Leaning back in his chair, Master Dural linked his fingers, and sighed.

"We fear this world is being watched, even now."

The Regnant

Harrower.png

"Commander Sirinek, a message from the Admiral."

Sirinek turned from the command centre aboard the Harrower-Class Dreadnought REGNANT, and eyed the officer coldly.

"I will take it in my quarters."

Turning sharply on his heel, the cleanly cut bald man exited the bridge and walked directly toward his private quarters. Sealing the door, he stood stiffly in the rooms centre, awaiting the message.

A blue figure rose largely from the midst of Sirinek's table, and spoke down to the captain.

"Time is pressing Commander, and our friend is not as patient as I. He requires an immediate progress update from Tython. This mission remains one of absolute importance and secrecy. If our agent is discovered on the Jedi home world by anyone other than your men, his contract will be erased and denied by the Empire, is that clear?"

Sirinek swallowed, and nodded his head in submission. "Yes Admiral. I will have a senior officer contact him at once."

Tython

latest

Trueshot would not have wanted the following transmission to be known, but as a cyborg, that is not something he had to worry about.

His implant reacted to the incoming message, and projected an image of an imperial officer, though it was someone he didn't recognise.

It was a recorded message, he knew, and it would do no good responding.

"A message from the Regnant, Bounty Hunter. We are in orbit on a nearby moon, and the Admiral requires a progress update from Tython immediately. Time is pressing, and your alliance with the Empire is to be short lived if you are discovered by anyone other than OUR MEN, do you understand? If you are captured by Imperial or Sith troops, the Navy will deny all knowledge of your existence or the contract."

There was silence.

"Bring us the girl. Unharmed. Or the next contract will be for your head."

Zeres narrowed his eyes at the Cerean who had entered. When Master Dural mentioned his name, Master Fenn, he immediately was able to place who the man was and what he was worth. Master Fenn was a powerful and wise Jedi who had worked with the council for quite some time, and being in his early thirties, impressed many for being such a wise Master. In fact, Master Ipsim had mentioned Master Fenn by name a few times in Zeres' presences, using his example as a sort of motivational boon. Seeing the man before him for the first time, was, well, underwhelming to as the least, but he could see by looking at the Cerean Master that he was the real deal, just by the powerful aura he emitted.

Zeres spoke up first.
"As I said before, Master Dural, I'm simply here because I want to help however I might." He cleared his throat. "Whatever that might be. I've finally purged myself of any and all influences of the Dark Side pushed against me after I was captured, and after my dear Master was murdered. All I wish is to continue on as he would have wanted me to. I'm willing to go out on missions, I'm willing to defend the front here, I'm wiling to fight on the front out there. Whatever is needed of me, I shall do. For it is my duty as a Jedi to do so." He gave a bow of his head. It was true, that Zeres felt some fluctuations in the Force. His ability to use any kind of Force Sense was extremely weak, but the abundance of Force this planet seemed to hold gave Zeres that ability, in a more limited fashion. But enough that he could understand Master Dural's anxieties.

Ki Fenn stood still and looked at Master Gnost-Dural's gesture with his hand then toward young Avaro who quickly responded in knowing of its meaning. The young padawan pulled from a drawer in the wall, a small data pad.... To which Avaro turned to both himself and Zeres. While Master Dural to both with intent to ask them a question it would seem, Ki responded through silence as Master Dural spoke to them and asked of they're reason for being on the planet of Tython as there were concerns with a shift in the force. Ki could feel the shift in the force and the understand Master Dural concerns in relation to that realization and feeling.

Ki Fenn then looked toward Zeres as the younger jedi spoke of his reason for being here on Tython and at the jedi sanctuary. He gave a nod of his head and had seen a similar cause for his presence on the planet and within he sanctuary. After listening to his response to Master Dural and giving a bow of his head. Noticing now that it was his turn to speak and share of his own reason for being at the sanctuary, Ki opened his eyes and cleared his mind of past thoughts and studies, the sense of the shift in the force and all else that was stored in his mind and actively processing everything in divided categories and thinking them over or providing more focus upon them. " My cause for visiting the sanctuary of our order is quite fair and common, I have served the council for years and would not see it end now." Ki spoke in a collected and calm tone with remaining stance and folded arms, seemingly he had yet to move a inch since entering the room and taking his stance. " I would offer my service in continued flow to the council and our order, with your approval I shall resume my role as instructor to the young and extend my ability into other needed roles where my service can be further more of help and of value." He continued before providing a brief pause and allowing the silence in the room to provide a opportunity to consider his words and him a chance to gather a focus into multiple topics of related note, reaching into memory and recalling those he had served with and met during his years prior to this moment and the young padawans and younglings he had mentored and taught as a jedi instructor.

" It was also to take advantage of your records and archives, Master Dural. I have been curious of potential links between past jedi masters and they're respective findings and experiences, while delving further into they're history to perhaps find a link not yet discovered.... Simply for the enjoyment it brings to learn of and read such records of history and knowledge. It may not turn up anything, but it's a way to occupy ones self."

Master Ki Fenn would then look toward Zeres and recalled his mention of the dark side and the purging of its influence within himself and the capture of himself by the dark sides forces and the murder of his dear master. " A loss of one of our own to the dark side in any form, is tragic and unfortunate." He began having known the feeling himself of losing a master and the dark sides hand in it. " If I may ask, who was your master? Perhaps I know of them or have met them at one point in time or another."
