The child star

It was never a thing for Takumi to be interested in something such as baking. As a child, he was seen to be the "next child in line" to become the next big actor, at least seen in the entertainment industry because both of his parents are in the acting industry. To have both parents grow up to become so extroverted, it was interesting to see this child be so introverted, enough that he didn't socialize as much as the other children when there are events and gatherings.

Unlike his older sister, who possessed amazing skills of singing and dancing, Takumi never ventured in any of those because of the amount of expectation that people wanted from him. Thus, he did his best to stray far from the entertainment industry.

Love for Baking

Time went on and Takumi's constant questioning of, "will he be the next star?" was questioned often by his aunt and uncle, putting the pressure on. But maybe this was meant to be, but because of this, Takumi found great relief in baking with his grandparents. Whenever he was dropped off at his grandparents' home, his grandfather would often bake bread and his grandmother had a small bakery. This was where he could get away from all of the pressure of others, and little by little, his love for baking grew bigger and bigger.

The Choice

Takumi's parents began questioning whether or not they should send him to acting school, at least, they never knew that he had a love for baking. He never told his parents anything about his experiences at his grandparents' home, afraid that he wouldn't be able to go back there. The day his parents asked him to join an acting academy, that was when Takumi told them his plans: he wanted to become a patisserie. Of course, whether or not his parents agreed to it or not, he had already applied to the St Ines Academy and had the acceptance letter already, so with no regards with their support or not, he left off to the academy.

Biography: Kalista's father (a Korean dessert chef) and her mother (a Dutch breakfast cook) met at a culinary convention in Europe. Together, they moved to Japan and started a family. Kalista was mainly raised by her father, as her mother was often occupied with the bakery shop she started. From a young age, she was introduced to the world of cooking. At first, it was an enjoyable hobby that she did with her family. But then, her father was stricter on the results. She wasn't up to his standards, and kept her indoors to practice her technique. His method was to have her finish whatever food she made, saying that if it wasn't good enough to empty the plate, then she couldn't serve it to customers. Kalista was originally driven to create a dish that she could put into her family's bakery shop. But failure after failure soon caused her to burn out. She was constantly stuck in her home, recreating the same recipe, shoving it down her throat, and repeating. At one point, Kalista ended up with a huge appetite from continuously stuffing her face. To stay in shape, she adopted running as her main exercise. Unknowingly, her father gave Kalista complex that her cooking was never good enough as she was never able to put something in the bakery. Since middle school, she was aiming to make 붕어빵 (byeong-ppang) - her father's specialty. But she couldn't get the filling right, even til today. She ended up at St.Ines Academy in hopes of reaching the level that her father expects her to be. She is currently focusing on creating breads to practice for the outside layer of 붕어빵. Though she is now in her second year at school, she has only made it to 1 star, and fears that her cooking skills really just aren't as great as her parent's.

Personality: If you were to describe Chisuke's personality, it would be quiet. But the type of quiet that every could hear. Biography: Chisuke never knew his father, he ran out on his mother before he was born, but that didn't stop him having a loving home. His mother couldn't always be there for him, working two jobs to get by, or afford the most expensive items. But she always made sure to tell Chisuke that he was loved.

Growing up was still hard, many students bullying him for his lack of wealth or a father. For a while he stood up for himself, but soon found that it was easier to just ignore it. But, after puberty, his size and demeanour made ignoring the bullying obsolete. Most students stopped bullying him, most left him alone; as everyone else began rumours about him being a delinquent. Which was fine; better than bullying.

All during this, Chisuke found that he enjoyed baking. It was relatively cheap and distracted him from school. Soon he got really good. And someone seemed to notice as he got an invitation for st inès academy. He'd accepted immediately. Chisuke hoped this would help him get a high paying job in a field he loved; so his mother wouldn't have to work so hard any more.

Biography:
Born to a painter and a sweet confectioner in Tokyo in a modest confection shop, it was no surprise that Hako would develop her own artistic abilities. From a young age she'd been helping her mother make bean paste and joining in on her father's painting classes. Hako grew up knowing financial hardship, but never let it affect her positive outlook on life.

When she was nine, Hako decided that she would become a confectioner and inherit her mother's shop, she'd take Hanagasumi to the stars, make it a household name. When she was thirteen, she retconned it to take Hanagasumi to a place in as one of the 'Top Ten Places You Should Go To' in the world, which she narrowed down to Japan, and then Tokyo as she got older. Nonetheless it was clear that she had a lot of work to do in terms of her wagashi, she honed her skills for years with little reward without her determination faltering.

Her efforts bore fruit one day, when she came home to an acceptance letter from St. Inès. Her opportunity to take the shop to the stars.

Biography: Daughter of a renown industrialist and up-and-coming politician father, and an actress mother, she was not born out of any want for genuine family or expression of life. She was born to be a show piece, a political tool for both her parents' ambition, to prove credibility and an image of traditional values. Though her life was privileged, it was also strict as she was trained to fulfil the role she was set before her very birth: The dutiful and charismatic perfect daughter and heiress. Expectations were high and oppressive, and it was not long until she needed outlets.

Miho Hana came by accident, she was left alone after an interview, and she found herself playing around with a camera left behind, acting like she would not have otherwise. A supposed friend saw her and egged her on and secretly recorded and posted it online, hoping to cause controversy. The video was popular with people liking this let loose person, but ironically no one believed that it was Moriko acting this way with the friend lying to besmirch a celebrity figure. Moriko soon discovered it, of course, a friends' betrayal was crushing but saw the video's popularity and chance for her to be more herself, so she began to act online under the name of Miho Hana. Becoming an overnight sensation quickly, spending what little free time she had on it. (it was also a good way to make some unobserved or control money of her own).

Her love of cooking and baking came from her grandparents on her mother side. Her grandparents ran a restaurant in a rural village, with her grandfather baking and her grandmother cooking. It was a popular place, with people coming from surrounding villages, and was features in several shows as a hidden gem. In her younger years, she was often left in their care when she could not follow her parent, receiving genuine familial care and a general love of cooking and baking.

The combination of her family expectation and her Miho Hana persona becoming bigger than she could imagine eventually took their toll. She publicly collapsed from the pressure during one of her father events, she needed a change, and she thought pursuing cooking and baking as a good change. She applied to the St Ines Academy with her father's reluctant help.

Of course, within reason, there is no point wasting the time for a person who is shouting in your face but with people who are patient with you, it makes sense. This leads to the second thing David has learned. Treat others how you would want to be treated in life. Biography: David was born to a working-class household In Sheffield England. Not poor that they were just scraping by but not rich enough to have the everyday things that make life a little easier. His mother and father in order to keep it going have their house on the top floor where their business is located. Every day at 6-am when he was 6 he would walk downstairs and see his mother and father continuously working with their cakes and biscuits. Of course, he would help them with their work. After a time he eventually grew up into the man he is today still learning and experimenting with new things with his trade. His parents managed to save enough money for him to attend the academy but have him start of as a 0-star student due to his economic class as well as his entrance exam. David was all about the practicality of cooking not the exams or the technical side of things he preferred to let the food do the talking rather than someone who only took 1 small bite out of a muffin and hadn't even taken some of the fillings if you would get his meaning. His parents decided on the Japan branch rather than France being it so closed to England Is so he could see more of the world and learn from Asain Cruisine and Bakery. Not knowing Japanese however is a big difficulty and he will just have to cope with writing on a chalkboard given to him by the school. Another reason why he is a 0 star Student.

Friek Wurstfest grew up with an American father and a German mother. His early child hood was growing up in a small town in the states well known for its German culture involving cuisine which ultimately affected the small child. After his first German festival he immediately fell in love with the German cuisine. Quickly adapting into the cooking world and becoming a great chef, people in his hometown always wanted to eat his excellent dishes. Well until he had transferred into St. Ines academy where he had easily impressed everyone with his skills in cooking. It wasn’t long until he became a 3-Star chef and popular within the academy.

He was also well known for his different take in cooking, as some delicately use the blade for their meals, Friek uses a bigger blade and used a violent and messy style of the blade that at first disgusted the chefs who viewed and tasted his food for the first time. Though after the tasting went spectacular and impressed the teachers, they named him,’Zungenbrecher’ also know as the tongue breaker in English. Immediately becoming one of the best chefs in the school’s history, trying his best to improve his already talented skills and impress his mother he swore to be the best chef the school has ever produced, and be the best of the best.​

BACKGROUND: Amaia's parents were very young, both with their own dreams and aspirations and certainly not ready for a child. As such, Amaia was raised by her maternal grandparents, a pair of native museum curators in their home city of Dunedin. Her grandparents nurtured and supported her interests and, of course, became her entire world- especially after supporting her through a mute and sickly early childhood and the half dozen surgeries that followed.

Amaia's love of the culinary arts stems from having learned the ins and outs of cooking traditional Polynesian cuisine for museum events and various important holidays. Feeding people became one of her earliest methods of direct communication during the time it took her voice to heal and strengthen, and since, she's begun to make a name for herself by learning modern techniques and incorporating them into various traditional meals. This was actually a major reason she chose to leave New Zealand, hoping not to see either of them again for a while if she escaped the entire continent. Amaia is more than accustomed to travel, but her enrollment in St. Ines was the start of her first long-term stay in Japan.
