Squad A IC

The masked figure stood still keeping as she was. It's nondescript figure made it difficult to truly tell what her reactions were, only her voice able to portray her reaction. As Ayumu attempted to do a show of his techniques, the figure's head tilted to the side. Her voice remained silent almost as if in some sort of amazement by the sight at hand. Suddenly she began to laugh, the figure leaning forward, placing its gloved hand upon the mask as if in some hysterical laughing fit.  The figure slowly straightened itself out standing tall.

"Genjutsu... I am well beyond such little tricks... you shinobi using such an incomplete form of power. No... what I do..."

The voice paused briefly as suddenly the masked person suddenly broke apart in several pieces of paper once again just as the clones came in to attack. It broke into the tags from earlier blowing partially away as if she had never been there in the first place.  The thrown knives shot through the air, disrupting the motions of some of the pieces of paper. A tag ten feet from the real Ayumu suddenly glowed as a black portal formed extending out nearly 2 feet in diameter. Its front side shifted through quickly holding a piece of paper as if it was fully solid like a paper card, not bending.

"...goes far beyond what your little mind can comprehend." The voice spoke suddenly throwing the paper as if it was a shuriken. The paper flew towards Ayumu as a light mist began to flow from the paper, using the same ability as before although directly controlling the paper to be much quicker in its trajectory.  The masked figure pulled itself from the portal, finding her grip upon the diagonal steel beam above.  She lifted her arm in what was meant to show a yawn despite it being impossible with her being masked.

As Ayumu's clones danced out and started their barrage, the masked figure seemed completely amused by the display. She broke down into a mad fit of laughter before dodging the thrown blades. Her focus on the real Gennin the entire time even as she moved across the battlefield.

That was a mistake.

If the trio of Gennin were to recall Kazuo's earlier lesson, they'd remember him stressing the fact a shinobi should never focus on a single opponent. The masked opponent continued to  focus solely on the real Ayumu as she mocked him, paying no mind to the dance of the clones throughout the area. Chances are not even the Gennin that created the clones would notice there was one extra. Really no one would pay it much mind until it drove a black bladed katana through the woman's back.

The clone said nothing even as it changed back into Tsubaki. There was no time for mocking words, no savoring the surprise attack, just a harsh glare as her blade ignited into flames. To lose focus for even the slightest moment could spell death. That was something all shinobi knew. Should the woman try to split into paper to travel, a few swings of Tsubaki's flaming blade would take care of the tags. Not to mention the rest of the tags in the area were already gathered in Ryu's water jutsu.

Ryu shook his head when he realized what had happened. "You have no need to apologize. Frankly I'm just glad I didn't need to find out the hard way what that thing would have done.. I owe you one." He muttered, surveying the scene from their higher vantage point. By now, his water jets had made it all the way to the base of the main pillar, and they were quite filled with tags. Given what that last one did, he wasn't sure he wanted to keep these tags when the mission was over...

He made his hand signs once more, the water pooling together and consolidating the tags in one pool of water as another stream launched towards the main beam. While Ayumu and the Jonin had focused on their attacker, it had left him free to focus on dealing with the tags. Sure, it wasn't exactly a glamorous job, and he would love to get a chance to fight now that he had the Serpent's Strike in his arsenal, but the mission came first, and that meant removing the tags....

As with the others, he let his water seep under the tags before his Jutsu launched them off the pillar, making sure to use extra water for the tags just in case. With them safely removed he consolidated all the tags in his water, moving it away from the beam so that an untimely detonation wouldn't accidentally undo all of his hard work.

He had to hand it to Ayumu. Of the squad, it was rather shocking that the pure Genjutsu specialist was the most likely to be the loose cannon in a situation. Yet in squad A, Ayumu was most definitely the unpredictable wild card. It was by sheer fortune, it seemed, the pompous peacock had been paired with two other Gennin that seemed rather adept at adapting to his out-of-left field antics. Even if he lacked stamina, Ayumu was shaping up to be an excellent diversion, Ryu noticed, and sometimes a good diversion was exactly what a team needed to complete a mission. After all, it was thanks to Ayumu's diversion that Ryu was able to gather up the tags...

Kazou, still here.

The tag flying towards Ayumu was thrown almost like a kunai, however it could not beat a true one in a contest of... well... anything, save for what the tag was meant for. the tags were holding a jutsu, hell viewing? possible, he'd like to get his hands on one of them to look it over carefully, it was a interesting art... And he wasn't to bad at Caligraphy, shouldn't be to hard to reverse engineer. After the battle he shall attempt to sneak one, if he could of course. Back to his thoughts on Kunai and tags, his meaning was such, while a tag, it couldn't beat a kunai, which is what he planned to show off right at this moment.

With a blur of movements his hand grasped a number of kunai, 4 in his left to be exact, and threw an interception kunai against the card, pinning it elsewhere(and ultimately ruining the card). "hmmm... Seems things are going accordingly.... I wonder when the surprising twist shall appear? Perhaps that will be a clone, the real one snickering far above or below. It is never so simple... never can be..." the man mused to himself as he continued to manage his overwatch, replacing the tossed kunai with but another flick of an arm. "In truth... i get the feeling of inevitability. The paper witch plays while the true plot slowly comes forth. Perhaps...."

A sudden thought appears in his mind...Perhaps they should get this done as quickly as possible... It was a interesting scene to come across, best they get this business done and report it as soon as possible.

Lest Kemuri take blame.

But then again... when haven't they been in a place that might cause trouble back home?

Can't pull the "ninja carpentry guild" lie this time Seiji.

His right hand flashed another sign of sorts, nothing truly specific but it ended with a small point towards Ryu, and then he moved forwards a few feet to get into a smaller distance from the tag lady/Tsubaki.

"We should hurry."

The attack was intercepted as more of the tags burned from Tsubaki's attack working to singe many of them. The figure suddenly disappeared from the portal burning away. Silence filled the area as it seemed as if things had been taken care of. It didn't last long as a deranged laughter echoed through the area. "Well... you are right... you should of hurried..." She spoke out, her disembodied voice filling the area.

The tags that had been washed over suddenly started to disintegrate. A single tag was left alone, seeming hidden away etched with a strange marking unfamiliar to any of their eyes. The tag looked to be wet, however black water slowly trickled down from it as the etchings was left untarnished on the rusted pillar. The water began to run more rapidly continuing to drip the black liquid before bursting. The pillar suddenly creaked as the rust had extended far beyond what it was, the water seemingly having eaten away quickly upon the metal, the droplets left over partially corroding away at the concrete before seemingly evaporating away with the tag itself completely gone. The sound of the structure creaking loudly could be heard as the very pillars holding the ground up seemed to slowly start giving away, buckling away under the weight being unable to support it with a large chunk of the pillar gone.

"I would get out of here quickly if I were you... else you will die like all those people above... but who am I kidding, you came here to destroy the pillar and take so many lives all for the sake of who hired you to save money and squelch descent, it makes it easier to simply rid of a large block well known for voicing out against the wealthy families after all."

The structure began to start crumbling as the ground above shifted, slanting over. Supports began to give way, finding a grove to rest upon before buckling and breaking under the new weight as the ground quickly began to fall sending the massive section of the uplifted structure quickly tilting down and falling towards the ground.

Kazou

"How drole... like a shitty novel. Regardless, move!" Kazou barked as he flash stepped towards the exit, lifting up the two idiot kids who damn well didn't leave the god goddamn area yet like he damn well told them to long ago. (You did not mention them Hana, and I'm not letting you pull a "What happened to the kids" moment on a professional's watch.) he looked to the others and motioned them to move once more. "Tsubaki! grab Ayumu! Ryo Yuuki get your asses moving now!" the normally proper man giving a tongue lashing was rare, but he was not in the mood to be polite anymore.

It took a few jumps but he managed to get to a safe area, planting the children down before awaiting his own students, ready to use his healing palm should a wound be evident... "Damn it...." he muttered softly to himself, he couldn't face the kids, not after this... Bloody bullshit...

They were already set up when they got there, Ryo had taken the tags off the damn pillar but still, still it was destroyed. Some first mission.... The boys would need some time to recover after this... Or some strict training, so this would never, never, happen again. Fledgelings if anything and here they are.... This almost makes him want to uproot and move to another land... Where shit Isn't always being flung in their faces... Maybe bring the boys if they'd come, teach them on the road, travel the world....

Wouldn't that be nice...

Maybe go to his mother's homeland, soak in a hot bath for awhile... Forget about kemuri... forget about a boss that does nothing but lay upon him insult...

Forget this fruitless task....

....

It was times like these he wished he smoked again...

Tsubaki Mifune

Yuuki Mifune

Tsubaki's eyes narrowed as her mark's body feel apart into more of those blasted tags. Though it only took a few swings of her flaming sword to reduce them to ash. Best to not give the nuisance any more ammo to play with. Though it seemed there was no stopping their plans to bring the chunk of the city down . . .

"Disgusting," Tsubaki muttered as she sheathed her sword. With a short nod to Kazuo she snagged Ayumu, slinging the Gennin over her shoulder as she got out of range of the debris. Chances are you could see the dust and smoke from Kemuri. Stopping beside her fellow Jounin, she set Ayumu down. Her face was emotionless as she looked out at the destruction. She couldn't have saved any of them. To have tried would have been suicide.

Still, the chances of any of the children understanding that were slim at best.

Yuuki could only stare at the collapsing structure. They failed . . . hundreds if not thousands were dying in that collapse and there wasn't a gods damned thing they could do. It was the same thing all over again . . . he was stuck only able to watch the collapse while someone (Or in this case tons of someones) died.

Honestly had it not been for Ryu jerking at his sleeve Yuuki likely wouldn't have thought to retreat. The Gennin just rooted to the spot, unable to look away. Luckily his teammate was able to snap him back to reality before he got himself killed. Though it was just his luck debris turned shrapnel struck the back of his shoulder.

As soon as they reached Kazuo and the others, Yuuki spun around to watch the dust and smoke rising into the sky. "Dammit!" He growled, clenching his fist. They took out the attacker, gathered what should have been all the tags, yet all those people still died. "What the fuck did we do wrong!?" He yelled at no one in particular.

"Yuuki . . ." Tsubaki sighed, "There was nothing that could be done."

"So what, we're just going to stand here and do nothing!?" Yuuki snapped at his sister, his eyes stung. "No, there has to be something-"

He hadn't even taken a step before Tsubaki caught him in the chest with a hammer fist strike. "Nothing there's stable," Tsubaki's voice remained calm, even as she watched Yuuki drop to his knees from the wind being knocked out of him. "Even if the structure's stabilized, there's a chance that more traps have been set for rescue teams. Going back would be suicide."

Yuuki coughed, struggling to catch his breath once more. "D-dammit!" His fist struck the ground, the trembling Gennin ignoring the burning in his shoulder. The back right of his shirt turning crimson.

Ayumu Susumu

Everything after rushing the paper lady was a blur. Ayumu didn't know how, but Tsubaki struck out of nowhere. More accurately, she'd turned into one of his clones, and he hadn't even noticed. His attack, of course did absolutely nothing. Then sensei saved Ayumu from the counterattack as Tsubaki shredded the woman....'s paper clone. Of course. A visible snarl erupted across his face. Ayumu knew he was outclassed, he couldn't do much, but nothing? To have to be babied by two jonin as he tried to fit in. It was beyond embarrassing.

Ayumu angrily grabbed several knives as the real woman appeared, a coughing fit however stopping him. He'd used to many clones today, between these, the ones in the sewers, and the hell viewing jutsu he'd cast on Urchin girl earlier, coupled with all the running of the day had him a little bit tired. Ayumu shambled forward when he heard Sensei's orders. Ayumu barked back, but whatever he said was lost over the groaning structure, and Tsubaki's follow through.

The dandy's face turned scarlet in an odd combination of embarrassment and anger. He was a bloody ninja! Not some child.

The sound of crashing metal near deafened him behind, and the dust again dirtied his clothing, only setting more fuel on the fire. He snatched his headband off, which he had embroided onto his sash, the fabric ripping along with much of Ayumu's sanity. He hardly felt like a ninja anyways. The dust had probably made his sash worthless anyways. The dust seemed to make everything useless around here, people included. Ayumu, barely audible, mumbled to the team.

"We might want our headbands off lest anyone thinks we just did that...."

Ayumu didn't generally get frustrated, he always hid behind his smirk, but this time, even he was gone. They'd all scrambled against the woman. Their formation was perfect, and the they had 2 jonin with them, against one woman who didn't seem to be that strong. Ryu had gotten the tags, hadn't he? Tsubaki's snake should have discovered the real one before the fight even began, right? So how had this just happened? Ayumu turned  sullenly to Kazou, looking for... he didn't know. Hope? Orders? Trying to figure out what the hell just happened?

"Sensei, orders...?"

Ryunosuke Mizuchi

What had possibly gone wrong? They had attacked as a team, they had two Jonin, one of whom specialized in assassinations present, and he had made sure to get every last fuck-mothering tag off of that fuck-mothering structure, and yet somehow, someway, a tag had appeared after he had cleared it and brought the structure down. There was no logic to this. There was no rhyme or reason. It was like some unseen deity had simply decided that no matter what course of action they took, they were destined to fail. No matter what they did, no matter how careful they planned, or how flawlessly they executed the plan, there was never any chance of success. The powers that be had clearly decided from the beginning that this was a mission doomed to fail.

Ryu clenched his fists, the water he had collected starting to swirl around him ominously. His frustration and anger were evident. After all of his training, after all of his hard work he had been robbed of his first real shot at success. Countless mornings spent training, afternoons and evenings spent working to earn enough to keep from starving to death and here he was, back to square fucking one.

"Kazou-Sensei... I know it's not our mission..." There was clear venom dripping from every word he spoke. "But at this point... It wouldn't sit right to leave and let those rogue shinobi make a complete and utter mockery of us and everything we do... We tried the stealth approach and it didn't work... Maybe now it's just time to take the fight to these dickless cowards and show them exactly what happens when they fuck with us..." The water around him seemed to be swirling faster, almost as if his chakra itself was showing the signs of his growing rage that his voice barely managed to hide.

"They say no man knows for certain how the End will come... Some say it will come by an inferno, others a great flood... I can't say I know how the End will come for me... But if I have my way... These gutless bastards will meet their end when the Storm they have created in their selfish arrogance crashes down upon them and rends their flesh to tatters, scattering what little remains to the Four Winds to be forgotten along with everything they held dear..." When he turned around to face the group, even his eyes were glowing blue, a trait of the Mizuchi clan... Only there was something different, almost imperceptible: small crackles of electricity.

In the Mizuchi clan, they were taught from a young age what it was like to kill. It started with animals, to deaden any sense of remorse. In some cases, they would execute family members that had been deemed to weak to carry on the family name.. Ryu himself had been forced to execute one of his Uncles... The only reason he was still alive is because he was deemed too weak to be even worth the effort.... If it came down to a fight, Ryu wouldn't hesitate to kill the rouge shinobi responsible for this...

@Orikanyo @KageYuuki @Ganryu @Hanarei

"Ryunosuke, be silent."

Kazou's words, for the first time they had met him, whipped forth like the blade on his hip. "We have no more business with this situation.... Our actions any further will only cause issue. The enemy would expect us, and as your master I shall not allow you to waltz into your death... I do not know how that tag was still there, Nor their ultimate reasons for sparking this riot." he shook his head, his face that of a stone statue, nary a trace of anger graced it... his eyes closed for but a moment before opening again to continue.

"But it is out of our hands now... We shall return the child home, and return back to kemuri... I must report this to Lady Renai as soon as possible." he took a slight moment to begin thinking on what to say to the woman... this was valuable information... And no doubt she was already getting calls for help. "This isn't the last we shall see of this group, but you all don't have the power to exact vengeance this day... This day we suffered a defeat... Remember the tactics you saw used today, think on how best to counter them. Train, better yourself... that is the path you must take... succumbing to rage shall yield naught but weakness, a weakness..."

His eyes glanced to the two Yuuki and Ryu, a biting glare that would make the devil flinch. Ryo.... Yuuki.... Rage permeates them...

"...that I will not allow to spread."

He paused for roughly 4 seconds before looking towards Tsubaki, she shall no doubt be reporting with him... She saw the woman up close... perhaps she might have a different view on this then he... Their mission was a success regardless of the fact, kazou only hoped the child's mother wasn't caught in the destruction. The girl... What to be done with her.... Likely there would be more lost souls like her this day... And that mother... she wouldn't be able to handle another... Think on it after they bring the child to his home.

"We must move. We shall return Kaiden home and make certain his mother is safe. Linn I shall return you home afterwards... if you choose so." he regarded the children once again before picking them up like to bags of rice and lifting off once more.

"Come!"

[let us bring this to an end, if hana wishes to skip ahead kazou shall bring the child home, collect payment and bring Linn home if she wishes to stay in Koseki and doesn't have a home prior, he will offer her a actual place to stay if she has none. Regardless what she says, they will head back]

A Rush Through Time

The rubble had settled finally leaving the rubble that had been several homes stacking several stories high in pieces. The river itself was partially blocked up, the water thinning out as it slowly built up, small streams seeping through the rubble. Even from the faintest glance it was a haunting sight to behind. It wasn't something short of a miracle that anyone would walk out from such a disaster. People from above ventured out of their homes. A sense of panic and unease filled the crowd. For them, neglect had played its part in causing such a disaster...

Kaiden went home willingly, the boy seeming quite shaken and upset by what happened. While it didn't seem as if their plan had carried through in full, it was evident the seeds they had wanted to plant were more then in place. His mother tearfully embraced him, scolding him with her so soft spoken voice with the boy trying his best to ease his mother. With the reunion finished, she handed an envelop, the material and way it was done appearing very business like, not hard to tell it wasn't paid for by the mother but by a third party.

Linn had originally been hesitant about going with Kazou, but she was ultimately nudged into it with some resistance by Kaiden. The girl had arrived with him seeming almost perplexed by the notion of having a home to sleep in. It wasn't hard to tell she had grown accustom to living on the streets, and while she had help from others and Kaiden, she seemed quite independent on her own knowing what to do.

((Sorry not fancier but figured I'd do a brief little snip it of what went on since i was hasseled! *cries in misery over being forced into such a post by such a cruel cruel person*. ))

Maaaaaaaaakeover!

After the mission ended, Ayumu had acted strange. He was still noticiably shaken by the mission, but as Lynn had accepted Kazou's offer, Ayumu's face immediately lit up, and his gloominess seemed to run away.

"My, my, if you are going to be living somewhere much nicer, it'd be rude to go like that. Time for a makeover!"

Ayumu had abducted the girl before anyone could say anything, or even comprehend what he had said, and had headed to a clothing store on a comparitively richer part of town, dragging Lynn inside.

The girl still wasn't certain about the notion, only urged on by Kaiden. The idea of living at some person's home was so strange to her. She had grown use to living on the streets, making it by day by day. Her head was lowered somewhat in thought a little nervous. It only really sunk in now what she would be doing from now on. She wasn't going to....

Her own thoughts were cut short as she was tugged away. The young girl blinked looking completely lost as she was dragged away. Her eyes opened wide like a stray puppy being taken away from her mother having a mixture of confusion and fear in her.

"Where are ya taking me? M... make over? Wha.... are you talking about?" She spoke in her light voice putting on her seemingly defensive expression of innocence about her as she was pulled away by Ayumu, a look of dread in her face not even knowing what he was talking about yet instinctively dreading the very word.

Ayumu took a second to take a good look at Lynn.

"If you are to going to be living under the wing of someone as beautiful as Kazou-sensei, it wouldn't do to be there in rags. Clothing afterall is an expression as much as your face. Your face says a little about determination, now doesn't it? Wanting to help out against a bunch of ninja.

Tell me this, now you've seen a ninja in action, even if it was us who failed, what do you think? Would you ever hope to get in a ninja's way again? Considering how absurdly powerful you've seen one to be. Even if it was to protect someone?"

As Ayumu spoke, he was already floating through the dress aisle. He seemed not to have any shame at being in the women's department. Infact, his fingers danced between the line of clothes, before settling on a dress for a second. A second later, it was moved as he shot through the rest of the dresses, unsatisfied.

Lynn looked forward hearing Ayumu speak. The girl was rather lost by his words. Beauty? Clothing? It seemed so foreign to her of concepts. She was smarter then most girls her age but she never had to deal with the notion of 'looking good' nor did it seem to really do anything useful at all. She scratched her chin perplexed by it all.

"I... I just wanted to help... I don't care who they are if they are going to hurt people. I wasn't going to fight them or anything..." She spoke softly, her voice almost a low whine seeming to be uncertain in her own response. In part she just never really thought of the idea they might end up attacking her. She very much followed Kaiden's lead, but she did it fully of her own free will. She didn't like seeing people hurt by others.

Her eyes lingered over to Ayumu as he strangely started touching the clothing. She was a bit puzzled by it all. Was that how you went shoping for cloths, touching it all when you looked? All the dresses seemed needlessly complex, it didn't make much sense for the girl who thought clothing was just for covering up and keeping warm.

Ayumu's eyes settled on one as soon as she finished speaking, pulling out a blue dress. Blue was a calming, supporting color, associated with loyalty, with calmness, and intellect.

"I see. You do know they could kill you in an instant? That kunoichi probably could have killed me in an instant too. It's hard to help people when your dead. Do you feel it was worth risking your life for?"

As Ayumu spoke more and more to the girl, he seemed to have an easier time picking out piece after piece for her. She'd likely get a heart attack looking at the price tags. Ayumu however, did not come from the poor side of life. This was just his normal spending money.

Lynn looked at Ayumu as he did his 'shopping' not quite getting what he was even doing when it came to 'picking' outfits, looking strange to her with the entire process. She looked at him hearing him speak up more, seeming a little uncertain.

"I guess..." She spoke softly, the girl not seeming too certain hearing him speak. Truthfully the whole concept of death wasn't something she perhaps fully grasped, though she knew enough about it to be uneasy. She could still recall seeing her mother laying on the floor, not 'waking' from her sleep. She frowned a bit keeping her eyes darted down to the floor.

"Would you do it again?"

"I... I don't know..." She spoke seeming uneasy in her response. She didn't want to say no but at the same time yes didn't seem to be the answer. A part of her couldn't stand just sitting back and not doing anything, even with that fear. She wasn't nuance enough to really find an answer to it.

"Such uncertainty. You do know I said I could've been killed in an instant too right? I think I would have done it without a single question. I've got a nindo, a ninju way of life, I don't question it. That said, having a jutsu or two for distraction certainly helps, I'm less likely to get killed than a street urchin whose never seen a ninja before."

As Ayumu said that, a scroll would appear out of his sleeves, pointed at the girl.

Genjutsu: Haze Clones

"If you fancy doing something so woefully foolish, perhaps it'd be good to learn a trick or two. This is my Nindo: 'Always a trick up my sleeve, always a way forward'. I do think you a rather brave, so don't worry so much.

This is my little secret, I could hardly give this with sensei watching, you aren't actually a ninja, and we tend to control these.

Now, let's go try on these clothes! I'm dying to see what you look like in these!"

Ayumu might have had the shopping as a cover story... but that didn't mean he couldn't have fun with it. He had lots and lots of shopping planned. Lynn wouldn't even look like the same person coming back (and after an afternoon with Ayumu, probably wouldn't feel like the same one either...)

Lynn looked on quietly hearing him speak. She looked at the scroll abit confused. She heard his voice reaching out hesitantly before taking it. Her eyes darted at the scrolls a bit curiously. She looked back to him hearing him speak. She nodded lightly in response, not saying anything in return.

She blinked as he spoke up about the clothing. She looked at the outfit a bit weird by how it looked, seeming to have so many pointless elements to it. "Okay..." She spoke seeming even less certain about the dress then she did her choice risking her life. She took the dress, shuffling offf looking a little confused by the dress before entering into the changing room to try the dress on.
