Space crash landing anyone?

Once again, I like it all. Do you have input for the type of terraforming done by either/both species? I'm going to begin by googling alien terrain images to get a start. Can you give me some specific terrains, plants, and/or animals you would like to have implemented? Also anything related to continent positions, including the destruction of old ones and creation of new ones, and climate. If there are parts you'd like to do yourself or parts you don't care about at all, mention those so we can divide up the effort accordingly. c:

Btw, I'm hoping you'll take care of most of the technology and species biology bits since you are more science fiction-y than I, though I can definitely add input where you want.

Of course. No the terraforming was done mainly by the robots by the saurian species. That means most of the terrain is dense jungles or wide open plains. Animals are more dinosaur like with some avian species. The flora has a vast variety of color and tinting.

The other alien's terraforming is limited to around the city, mostly just rocky ground covered in a thin layer of some species of moss. The animals are mostly squat and ugly looking. Their are no trees or other such plants.

I'll leave how the continents change up to you, but I have to say I like the idea you have in the other post.

Technology wise, the saurian aliens are much more advanced than we are in terms of robots and engineering, but their current tribal state has them without those advantages. The other species technology is far behind ours in most aspects. They rely on crude and dirty machinery to get work done, as the designers didn't care about any health hazards they might cause to the people.

Also, what should we name the aliens?

Just got home from work; I'm going to relax a bit and then finish this. c:

I'm working with a map of the world to recreate the continental structure and as I was going along I realized that I'm basically just crushing everything in on itself (much easier than having to recreate brand new borders). Do you think it plausible that part of the alien terraforming process could include some sort of magnetization (or something) that would pull the land masses together in order to create one solid continent-ish thing?

Another factor in this would be a loss of land mass in general, the cause of which I don't really have any ideas for. You got any?

The aliens robots are highly advanced and probably injected stuff into the Earth and manipulated gravity and lava flow to move the land masses into place. Since the Earth is now much warmer thanks to the aliens thriving in a tropical climate, sea levels have risen. Also, parts of the land mass could have gone into making millions of small islands dotting the oceans.

As for the alien species, how about the reptilian ones be called the Zaurios and the others the Kuchol.

Sounds good to me. I think we should also note that as the continents collapsed in on themselves it would have turned a lot of areas into mountainous, rocky area.

I like the second name but not sure about the first. Erm....Vhaul? Valha? Tirgaul...Neghaul. Zalios, Xalios. xD

So how's this? Map

Have you put any thought towards communication with the aliens?

Nope, the North Pole is at the top. I went back and looked and it sorta looked that way though, didn't it? But no, I think that too much land would be tundra if that were the North Pole.

Well, I have had an idea, but it kinda has to do with your character. Now, at first we would t understand anything their saying, but eventually we come across a broken down robot, or some other form of alien machinery. Since your character deals with stolen technology, she probably knows how to hack it. She connects her tablet, holo watch, other futuristic type thing to it, and before you even begin to try to access its data, it sends a translator matrix across. The reason for this is that the Tirg' Xal put this in place in case one of the planets they ever came across had sufficiently advanced sentient life to communicate with it.

Nice! Once I have some basic climate set up, are you ready to work on characters and get started? Or is there any other ground laying you want to do?

I think it should be a broken down robot that she manages to get partially functional again.

Okay, but what I was saying was what did she use to connect with it? She does pilfer tech, and a lot of that would have to be hacked to get rid of certain security software.

Okay, how about it's one of her most recent prizes that she decided to keep for herself instead of sell. It's literally meant for hacking into various types of technology.

Hey look at this. It's sort of a climate map, showing where we'd be more likely to find jungle/forest, open plains, tundra, and wasteland. It's pretty self explanatory. I'm thinking the Kochul city could be on that sandy colored part jutting into the sea in the middle. We need a name for that sea.

By prize I mean stolen tech

Oops and I forgot the map. Here

Wasteland

Just so you know, it's easy enough for us to change any of this at any time during the role play so we don't have to be restricted by the climate map. It's just to give us an idea of what it might look like to begin with.

Ah! Maybe that's also where the land smashed up, creating some volcanic regions?

Before we decide where the Kochul live, where should we crash land? I'm thinking right here, in the forest. The Kochul's city and surrounding area would be the small black area there.<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_09/image.jpg.b2e525f5ea19f4771ec1ffc8d0f8f167.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="72588" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_09/image.jpg.b2e525f5ea19f4771ec1ffc8d0f8f167.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

That works. I might make the map more awesome looking with a key and important locations someday when I'm feeling more creative. For now, do you want to go ahead and create a thread? We can compile all our information more neatly there and then get to work on our characters.
