The sound of a hunting horn cuts through the crisp morning air, ringing across the countryside of west Wales.
Everywhere it seems wars are breaking out, fights over land and faith as men become more like rabid animals. The ground shakes beneath them and smoke curls into the sky in thick clouds from the hills, blocking out the sun.
“The Völvas are warning us that Ragnarok will soon be upon us.” The Chieftain’s voice was gravelly and weary. He threw another log on the fire and looked up at the figure leaning back in their chair next to him, with their long, braided red hair, tattoos on nearly every inch of skin.
“Grim thing, the end of the world.” They spoke, green eyes fixed on him, “What do you propose we do?”
“We keep living, Vanja, fight til the very end. Just as we always do… we start preparing for the long winter.”
This roleplay is set primarily on the western coast of Wales (Pembroke coast area or so) and follows a community of Norse folks as they brace for Fimbulwinter and the chaos of Ragnarok while also dealing with tension from a nearby welsh city and other Vikings taking advantage of the unrest.
This will focus on the story and follow the events of ragnarok and the aftermath, but might also be a bit sandboxy.
Rather than Ragnarok being one big world ending event im focusing more on this being a cycle, a sort of reset.
I’d love to expand on it more, maybe the characters try to stop it and put an end to the cycle or maybe they’ll just try and survive it!
