Person A is a playwright from Chicago in the early 1980’s, finding themselves at an old grand hotel where a portrait hangs of a young actress/actor (Person B) who once lived in the hotel when it first opened in the late 1800’s. Completely captivated by this young actress/actor in the portrait, Person A uses hypnosis to travel back in time in order to meet Person B.
Falling madly in love with Person B but finding it more and more difficult to stay under hypnosis, going days without real nutrition, Person A has to make the difficult choice of going under hypnosis one last time - which will end up with their death - or to leave everything they have with Person B and give up on the one true love they have ever known.
