Baosihr groaned as he felt someone nudge his side. He'd been having such a pleasant dream. He slid the magazine off his face to glare and whoever had disturbed him. However, instead his eye widened and he say up, the magazine falling to the ground with a soft flop. "E-Eli, I wasn't expecting you," the man said with a nervous chuckle. Eli frowned down at him, clearly unamused at Baosihr slacking off. "You are supposed to be in the training facility to evaluate the agents, not snore so loudly the top floor can hear you!" Eli hissed out angrily, not raising his voice, but the tone or anger was there.

"Yeah yeah, I'm going," Baosihr grunted as he got up, picking up the magazine, though Eli snatch it out of his grasp. Baosihr just laughed and walked away, leaving the administration building and making his way over to the newly reconstructed training center. The previous building had been damaged heavily when an rookie had accidentally blown it up. Not a pretty story, a few causalities and many injuries, it had been almost a year since the incident.

He casually entered the large open gym where he was supposed to meet the agents for evaluation... over an hour ago.
He pulled out a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket, reading over it, not really looking at any of the agents in the room. He stopped a few feet short of the center, "Flounder? You're up for evaluation eh? Go figure!" he said, referring to Mara with a nickname he'd given to her due to her 'aquatic problems.' "How's the view from that cubicle?" he asked, though didn't care for an answer as he quickly carried on speaking.

"Some of you may be rookies, others may think they fall on the side of being veteran agents. Knock that shit idea out of your head right now. As of today, you're all the same rank. You're being evaluated today, which means I'll be bossing you around. Should you disagree or not want to do as ordered, you'll get sent to where Flounder is usually, at a desk dealing with paperwork. I'm supposed to see your skills myself and determine which teams you'll be a part of. If you aren't a team player, you better learn how to be one. Mara! We're going to start with you, get over here."

Mara Poecilia
Mascot Agent
Merfolk
Hit: 10
Mara didn’t want to be here.

She had tried almost everything to get out of this damn evaluation but no, she was stuck. If last year was any comparison, it was going to suck just as badly. That entire morning she had sat at her desk with a bitter scowl on her face, some of the interns she worked near rather confused (and not to mention intimidated) by the woman’s mood. This was only made worse as she grabbed a towel of all things and stormed out of the building to the new training facility. It was considerably nicer than the previous, although the rookie that caused the explosion had quite the rough time afterwards.

She had taken her time getting to the gym-esc building, lingering there with a bunch of the other agents her rank, above, or below. She knew a some of them, as you tend to want to know who’s paperwork you’re doing, others were rookies, which made this all the more embarrassing. Why was she even here if they wouldn’t let her go out into the field?

Her first day, Mara couldn’t be more excited as she was gathered with the other batch of rookies to get their first assignments. Names were called, files were handed out….

“Jenkins, Don, Seever, you’re on Alpha with these cold cases. Try not to screw it up like the last idiots did. Smith, Deka, Bashford, on Bravo. Its your lucky day, they have a murder to investigate.” Once they cleared out, all it left was her a bit confused but still not bothering to comment. “Ah yes, Poecilla.” The man couldn’t hide a small smile. “You’re on Charlie.” Team charlie? That didn’t make sense.

“With all due respect, sir, there wasn’t a team Charlie.”

He nodded. “Exactly.” And gestured to a nearby cubicle. “I’ll have you shown how to use the system sometime today.”

Her face fell, a desk job?

“Sorry kid.” He shrugged. “You’re too liable with that water problem of yours to put out in the field.”

Blinking a few times, Mara’s frown deepened as she gave her head a brief shake to try and clear the remains of the memory from her mind. That had been 8 years ago but she still wasn’t able to shed the disappointment she had felt that day. Many had tried to console her, tell her it was temporary, but at this point it didn’t look as if it was.

So why didn’t she leave?

The idea was foolish. There wasn’t any other place for her to go. With the existence of supernatural creatures now revealed, getting any form of employment when competing against humans, especially at her age with her species, she’d be out on the streets in no time.

At least, that’s what she would tell most people. Truthfully, part of her was still hopeful that she might one day be a real agent and not a laughing stock of a mascot despite how unlikely that was.

Mara was torn from her stewing as the door finally opened, her favorite person entered the room. Baosihr. The demon that couldn’t resist making her out to be quite the joke. Annoyance set on her face as she was called out by one of her many nicknames before being asked how her view from the cubicle was. Using quite a bit of self control not to respond immediately, she huffed when he said she was up first.

“Nice to see you too, Baosihr.” She mumbled, walking out of the group of people. “Did you leave the water at home this time or are you going to be kind enough to share my “problem” with the class yet again?” Her violet eyes tore into the man, she clearly not enjoying this.

Then again, who would?

Rank: Agent || Hits: 10

Janus did not reflect the general attitude of those around him.

Although he never really did. He had been one of the first to arrive, surprising the few that were already present with a spontaneous portal that literally materialised from thin air before them. Of course, he had glanced in through a nearby window, so it was hardly an impressive feat to travel a mere few feet in such a manner. Janus wasn't even entirely sure why he had chosen to display his power upon his entrance like that, certainly not for any notions of vanity. Perhaps he just felt that he needed to make an impression?

It was training day today, after all, and all agents, old and new, would be tested to determine where they would be working this year. Janus didn't particularly care how he placed or whether he got a good 'score' as such. Even if he was deemed somehow unfit for field work, just his magic alone was enough to warrant bringing him on almost any important mission. Instant travel to and from a safe distance close to the mission site was indisputably an incredibly valuable advantage that only he could provide so far. If not to take part in the mission itself, Janus usually remained at the exit portal, standing by for when the team came back for an evac away from the fighting. However, unlike his strange magic, his capability in the field had never been questioned. Very few knew of his past, but most had seen- or rather heard of his mission record. His kill count was impressive. Worryingly so.

Janus blinked as he realised he had been staring at one of the new recruits for a while, deep in thought. The poor agent had a very concerned look on their face and had even taken on the shakes. Did he do that? Janus glanced away, dismissing it as he searched for a familiar face. And so he found one: Mara Poecillia, the resident Merfolk woman who, in polar opposition to Janus, never seemed to get sent into the field ever. Janus did not envy nor pity her; if she could be as effective in her work from a desk to the same degree that he could in the field, then there really was very little difference between their roles. Every agent was a cog in the SMITED machine, and one part out of place could break the whole thing altogether.

Janus did not go over to her, however. He didn't particularly know her that well, having spent little-no time with her on missions and... well, he was usually alone when off hours anyway. He preferred it that way. Breathing in deeply, Janus sighed out and squeezed his eyes shut, then open. He hadn't slept incredibly well last night, on account of his routine late night training sessions, and so the sleep deprivation was beginning to catch up on him. Generally, he tried to balance it out to ensure it didn't affect his mental faculties but he had really pushed himself yesterday. Really tested his limits. He needed to know if he was indeed field-ready, although he may have just proved himself otherwise if he couldn't act efficiently as a result.

Brushing a speck of dust from his shoulder, Janus leaned against a nearby wall and closed his eyes. He would be overlooked, probably ignored or forgotten for the most part. His dark black suit kept him looking low-profile, ambiguous, inconspicuous, and his nondescript face, simple straight, black hair and general lack of expression proved him to be fairly unidentifiable anyway. Truly, the only interesting features of worth was the strange hilt that hung at his hip and the two pistols strapped to his thighs, of which likely only the keenest eye would have spotted given how well they blend with the rest of his outfit. Janus liked to blend away with everything; it made his job easier for the most part. Hide before your weaknesses are exploited. Hide before dealing a killing blow. Hide before revealing your true murderous intent.

Janus opened his eyes suddenly and looked up as there was a commotion. It appeared their training instructor had finally arrived, roughly an hour late nonetheless. Janus didn't care. He was patient, and it wasn't like he had anything better to be doing. He checked his watch. Well, the man was here now so it was probably best to get involved finally. Stepping forward, still way off to the side from everyone else, Janus approached and waited impassively for the instructor to deliver some kind of order or inform them of a development or update.

Team player...?

The thought swirled about in his head for a moment. A joint exercise then? Whatever it was, he would do his best to succeed at it. That was all that had ever been asked of him in his life and it was all he had ever delivered.

Stirred just slightly by the sound of her alarm, Xaira’s hand automatically went for that snooze button again. There was a joke spreading around HQ that when Xaira slept, she hibernated like a bear every time. She was chronically late to anywhere she had to be before 11 AM, and was likely still here mostly because of her talents and abilities. Her dragon form was very handy for if a small team needed to be transported by air. Not to mention, it could take the heat and literally deal it back to most foes ten-fold in the form of scorching-hot fire. However, many missions required more… finesse than that, which she had enough of, more often than not. Even in her humanoid form, she was able to glide if need be, and had natural weapons in the form of claws that she knew quite well by now how to use. Couple that with her impressive height and body strength and you had a formidable offensive force. She wasn’t the best at stealth, if such was needed, however. Dragons were never known for their sneaking skills.

When she realized that she had to be at the training room in about 12 minutes upon sleepily glancing over at the clock, she was instantly far more awake than before, all but jumping out of bed due to the panic that was overtaking her. ‘Shit, I can NOT be late for this.” Thankfully, she’d taken a shower the night before just because she knew this would happen on such an important day, so she rushed, still half-asleep, through the rest of her morning routine. Looking at the clock once she’d straightened up her uniform and tamed her wild red hair so that it fell neatly over her shoulders. Then, she glanced at her watch and cursed under her breath. She was going to be late. Unless…

As was her claim to fame, she then acted without thinking it through anymore at all. She bounded up the stairs to the roof of the building, running at her top speed all the way to the other side, and leapt off the roof, using her wings to glide, steering herself carefully towards the new building.

Inside, about a minute before she was supposed to be standing around with the other recruits, she could be seen from the window, coming to a landing a few feet from the door and then bursting inside, breathing heavily and acting as natural as she possibly could. “Morning~!” She jovially called out, looking over everyone with a smile, before looking down at her smartwatch again. “Oh thank god, right on time.” She then straightened her posture, looking around at the other recruits. Among them, she recognized Mara (she’d always felt sorry for that girl; she couldn’t help that she was stuck at a desk job. Maybe today would be her lucky break?), as well as the notoriously quiet Janus. The guy was a little intimidating to her, truth be told, but she did a good job of acting like he didn’t, or at least she thought she did.

She then breathed out a sigh of relief of she realized that Baosihr wasn’t there yet, laughing a little and shaking her head. “Huh, the guy who’s supposed to evaluate us is late. Guess I didn’t need to bust my ass getting here but, needed the exercise anyway. Good warm-up.”

After saying hi to Mara and Janus, and then doing much more waiting around than she ever thought she’d have to do this morning, Baosihr finally arrived. She fought back a snarky comment with all her willpower, this proving rather difficult as she straightened her posture to listen to him As the man clearly took out a document he likely should’ve memorized already and then looked at Mara, calling her by one of her nicknames, Xaira’s neutral expression became a frown. She cast Mara an apologetic glance. ‘That sure was uncalled for…” she muttered under her breath, hopefully quiet enough for Baosihr not to hear. “You’ve got this, Mara, ignore him,” Xaira whispered as the merwoman passed by on her way to her dreaded evalutation. Xaira crossed her arms to watch, hoping Baosihr didn’t rig the hell out of this test and gave Mara only things she’d physically be unable to do. It seemed to Xaira like he’d do such a thing, considering how he treated her. Xaira hated people who treated their comrades like that, especially singling individuals out for no good reason, just like this. She couldn’t wait until it was her turn; she’d put Baosihr in his place, she was sure of it.

Tarrin Selanlar
Agent
Hit: 10
Tugging nervously at the sleeve of his uniform, Tarrin’s heart leapt as the door opened, only to reveal a last minute arrival. He gave a quiet snort at her evaluation of a lack of an instructor. The following hour long delay, while clearly bothersome for some of the agents gathered in the gym, had little effect on Tarrin’s mood. The Elf couldn’t have been more excited if he tried. He doubted even a visit from his own parents – however unlikely, given the travel costs alone – could lighten his mood. He had been called for evaluation, he was finally going to be considered for field work.

Tarrin was so focused on the entrance, awaiting the arrival of whomever was tasked with evaluating the group, that he barely registered those around him. Of course, he noticed a few familiar faces around the room, then spotted some more from races he had never come across before. SMITED held new things every day for him it seemed. Though, living a sheltered life in a desert would do that. Even now, he was still adjusting to things as simple as the stark difference in climate.

Finally, Baosihr arrived, gave his brief (but to the point) introduction, and called forth his first victim. The woman seemed less than impressed with Baosihr’s presence, sparking Tarrin’s curiosity. He wondered how well the pair must know each other, especially given their tone towards one another. Nevertheless, the Elf watched closely, intrigued as to what was going to happen next.

Rosalia Liotta
Agent
Vampire
Hit: 10

Being the professional that she was, Rosalia did not mess around. She arrived to the specified training bright and early, just like the time specified. When she entered the building, she assumed she would be the first one to arrive. After all, as a vampire she had already been up and active throughout the entire night. But this was not the case. Right when she pulled back the door to enter the new facility, a strange portal appeared directly in front and she immediately jolted back a few feet. From out of this portal sprung a man, who was completely calm in spite of just materializing out of thin air.

For a brief moment, Rose just stared blankly in a confused manner. What was that...? Once she saw his face, she came to the realization as to who that man was, and it all made sense. That man was known as Janus, and he was a portal making magician. She let out a sigh of relief, and pulled back the door once again to enter the room. Once inside she quickly passed Janus and toward the center of the room, with a look of annoyance on her face. Rose didn't know a whole lot about him, but that little stunt didn't make the best impression considering he probably could have just used the god damn door like a normal person. But then again, who in this room was normal?

The wait for everyone else to show up was long. Baosihr took his sweet time getting there and Rose just stood there, in the center of the room with her arms crossed waiting patiently for what felt like hours. Just where was the instructor? Beneath her red-tinted sunglasess Rose's eyes traveled across the room and looked around at her surroundings. There were a few other agents here, but she immediately noticed one in particular: Tarrin. He was an elf, and elves just happened to have the finest tasting blood in her opinion. His presence alone made it hard to focus on anything else, but luckily she wasn't thirsty...yet. Not even the entertaining entrances of the Dragon Lady Xaira or the presence of one of the mysterious mer-folk could get his scent out of her nose. Right now it wasn't a problem, it was just an annoying urge.

Finally Baosihr arrived, and gave them their info, though it was to much of Rose's disdain.

"An evaluation?" Rose questioned, with small hints of her Italian accent still in her voice. "I've been in this organization from the moment it was rebranded and I'm being evaluated? This seems unnecessary."

It was true, Rose had been here from the get-go, through the revelation, and all. Over that time period she had made very valuable contributions through her experience in medicine on the supernatural, and through multiple field missions. If anything she thought her name was out there as a reliable and experienced veteran of the program....she thought anyway. As mad as she was, at least she didn't have it as bad as Mara did. Baoshir seemed to take exception in calling her out and treating her rudely.

Baosihr grinned widely as Mara stepped out from the group of agents, which only increased at her comments. "You really hold a grudge don'cha Flounder? I had asked if I could set up a water obstacle course, but was sadly rejected. No, my dear Mara, I have a different plan in store for you." He waited until she was closer to him than the group, stepping aside to approach Rosalia, a grin on his face until he was standing right before her. "I'm sorry, did you have a complaint? Do you think you're a special little snowflake that doesn't have to be evaluated time to time? If you would prefer a nice view of a glass cubicle I can easily arrange that. No? If you want to get into the field work, you have to go through this like everyone else."

He grinned at her again before walking away to rejoin Mara, turning to look back at the group. "You've been, shall I say... randomly selected to be placed into teams, to work together and deal with complicated missions that cannot be achieved by a single agent. That is why there are veteran agents and rookies here, the experienced and the inexperienced. You may have been selected by fate for this, but you sure as hell aren't going to be teamed together in that manner. Now then, Agent Mara," Baosihr said, turning towards the merwoman.

"You've been an agent for over 8 years, stuck behind a desk. So, we're going to test your fitness and reflexes. Your fellow agents are going to grab a small water pistol. Their goal will be to saturate you, and yours will be to evade. However, because I think there needs to be another challenge, Janus here will be assisting you in your escape. Janus is not allowed to decide where to go, you will direct him in assisting you. The rules of this engagement are simple, an agent who runs out of water in their pistol can no longer pursue. Janus, you cannot portal her out of this gym. If Mara managed to stay dry enough to not change by the time every agent runs out of water, the game ends. It starts now, agents grab your pistols, Mara, flee."

Teams? Fieldwork? Was this a sick joke or was she actually making some type of progress here. Regardless, Mara simply listened to the demon, her expression remaining unfazed as he announced what he had in store.

“Fuck me.” She hissed, tossing her towel to the side and giving all of those in the room a sharp glare as she then began to run, hoping Jaunus actually cared enough to assist her. It wasn’t going to take that much water for her to unceremoniously land on her face, but it wasn’t a secret she wasn’t the most athletic person in the world, especially considering all she did was sit at a damned desk all day.

Lets just hope they all had terrible aim.

Calliea had been training since the sun rose. She had evaluation today, well she's been an agent for 2 years now. Nothing really big. Just desk jobs really. She hasn't had the experience she really wants. She checks the time and sees it's about time for she to go. She puts on her uniform on and walks to the evaluation room. She also took her beautiful staff.

When she walked in, people were already in. Annoying little Elf boy, she saw. Not that he knew her. Calliea doesn't associate herself with her kind. Due to the fact, she kinda fights with them alot. So she just walked to the back. Watching as people came in. Mara, the resident desk girl was here as well. She knew her well since she was given desk duty as well and if you wanted to do desk duty right. You talk to Mara.

Calliea jumped as Janus the magician came in through a portal. She could never get used to him. Since he travels through portals and never wanted to warn people when he does. She dislikes the magician due to be surprised by his portals once and having her staff out about to hurt someone. When there was no one to attack she realized, she was embarrassed.

She and the others waited for an hour till the instructor came. He seemed rude, and very...how would she say it? Rushed and brash. Calliea just sighed and leaned back against the wall. She didn't want to get into a fight and be given desk duty again. So she followed her father's advice and shut the big hole she called her mouth and just listened.

"At least he's here. A no-show would have been way worse. Way worse." Calliea whispers to herself. It seemed that Mara and the instructor had some bad blood between them and cause of this. And now, they were glaring at each other. Baosihr seemed smiley and she knew why when he opened his mouth.

She sighed and knew that an order was an order. Calliea hated these type of games, so she glares at Baosihr and carefully aims at Mara as she grabbed the water pistol, and shoots. She then added softly to Baosihr

"Well, I didn't know this was game grown-ups did. I've only seen children play it."

Rillianthil was, well to say she was irritated would have been a serious understatement. She had been instructed to present herself for evaluation and had done so. However, it appeared that the evaluator couldn't be bothered to show up to do his job. She had arrived slightly early, placing her bow and quiver up against the wall where they wouldn't get in anyone's way, then knelt and waited, and waited, and waited.

The appointed time had come and gone, and the only thing happening to mark the passage of time had been the appearance of other agents, presumably also here for evaluation. The dark haired woman seemed nearly as irritated as Rill felt, though there was an undercurrent of, something. Before she could puzzle out what was going on, something happened to the air near the door, and a man stepped through some kind of, opening.

"Mages and their tricks," Rill thought derisively. "What would it have hurt for him to use a door?"

The opening, portal, whatever it was, had appeared directly in front of a brown haired woman wearing odd sunglasses, causing her to startle back. She seemed to take it all in stride though, moving into the room. Rill followed her motion, then frowned. When had another elf entered? Rill didn't know him, but something about him said 'navaar'. Rill was distracted by the appearance of a woman with shockingly red hair, scattered greenish patches on her skin, and a tail?

"What kind of evaluation is this going to be?" Rill thought, trying to make sense of the odd gathering. "This is not standard."

Rather than devote any more time to trying to figure out what was going on, Rill settled in to watch those around her, until their training officer appeared. It was all she could do not to let her distaste for the demon show. When he addressed the dark haired woman as 'flounder' Rill could feel her temper rising. Taking a deep breath to center herself, Rill rose smoothly to her feet as the demon, Baosihr according to his ID, delivered his rather insulting comments. He couldn't even be bothered to be on time, how could he be trusted to evaluate...

"Calmly," Rill told herself. "He ranks you. He must be both fair and competent, otherwise he would not be here."

When he spoke again, responding to comments by the sunglasses wearing woman, and making what to Rill's mind were unnecessarily personal comments to the black haired woman, she was forced to revise her thoughts in a downward direction.

Orders were orders, and despite her absolute hatred for anything remotely resembling a firearm, Rill grabbed a water gun. Examining the water filled device, Rill gave the trigger an experimental squeeze, not noticing that the pistol was pointing directly at Baosihr.

The Moment of Truth
lZwQr1l.png

The gym was locked by the wee hour Zeke arrived, it was a long drive from his home territory. The alpine climate he loved was something he hoped for at base. His hands attempted to open the door one last time before he wandered off hungry. His eye peeled open as he looks for some woods. To his luck, there was not too terribly far away. Zeke snapped into focus.

"Shit, I'm supposed to meet him." Zeke turned around and started to snoop around the base to find none other than Riley, his elder brother. Riley had been working for SMITED for a year now, and he'd been mostly away from home.

"So you said you would leave out some Mynai to lead me to you." Zeke transformed, his wolf ran quickly down the avenue. A sparkling crimson coat of righteous fur sprinting as a ghost, the blur as Zeke passed by. The smell! His nose jumped up into the air, coating his nose with his packs special scent concoction. To less smell-sensitive beings, this would smell like funny garlic. To all surprises, Zeke's clothes transformed with him, fitting snuggly against his alternate form. A small but expensive enchantment, quite fitting for him as he changes forms back and forth a great deal. A gift from his cousin when Mattew passed away. Zeke continued to sniff quietly, going up to a building on the north side. The roof was shiny blue, reflecting moonlight as a still lake. After a glorious moment of pawing the door and a brief beep, the door slid open. Zeke walked inside, following the scent until an open door on the left side of the hallway stuck out. Zeke returned to his human form.

"Riley? You in here?" Zeke looked around, entering the room. He jumped as his hands collided with another pair. Another pair of eyes stalked the shadows. Zeke sighed, slowly smiling.

"You're getting better, if they don't tell you today, always check your corners. Though, you may already now." A black haired, green-eyed, and sharper looking image of Zeke stepped out of the corner. Tugging Zeke into the room, "Come on, you be hungry. Let's hunt, got a good place ey?"

"Lead the way, I'm sure we'll find something. The fearful always lend themselves to the open fields of death!"

Riley chuckled, "Let's go."

----
The sun began to rise, burning the fog around base as Riley and Zeke returned with both of their snouts bloody. Rabbit blood to be precise. Returning to his room, Riley laid out on the floor with Zeke sitting on the bed in human form.

"Full?"

"One with the rabbit, ate so much. Kills are good here."

Riley smiled, "You better get over to the gym. It should be open now. I'll be around for a day or two before I go out on a mission." Zeke nodded.

"Be careful out there."

"Always litte bro, have fun."

"Oh, I will..." Zeke grumbled, walking out softly. He transformed again, jogging into the gym about sixty-five minutes before the instructor arrived. He quickly passed the other agents and laid up against the wall for the remaining time, mostly licking his snout so the rabbit blood wouldn't be there. As the instructor walked in, Zeke silently laughed. 'Oh boy this guy.' He walked out onto the center of the gym, still in wolf form.

Zeke turned his head to the side, he ran to the guns knocking one out of the container with his head before transforming into himself. He picks up the gun and inspects it as the other agents go forward. He thens starts to run with the little water gun on his belt. Transforming back into his wolf form, he starts to chase Mara. Once he catches up and dashes in front of her with some wiggle room for her brief movements, he transforms back in his human form, gripping the gun and going full auto. He didn't want to hit her. She seemed somewhat of a good person, and Zeke silently wished he could just dump the gun out.

Celena was awake the entire night before the evaluation preparing herself in her room for the fight to come, you see when she was notified of the evaluation the paper hand out said it was going to be an evaluation of her skills and seeing as they probably don't want to see her avid knowledge of the different wildlife they would probably want to see her fighting prowess, something she was entirely fine as it didn't include having to operate any of the wizardry used by the people who helped settle in when she first arrived at the base. And obviously, the only way to test that would be to have a gladiatorial fight to the death to determine who would become an "agent".

After finishing putting the hoplite armor she carried with her from the forest she stepped out from her room and started making her way to the training facility and she would have almost entered in if only an agent who happened to be walking around found her, she then had to listen to a lecture about how in human society they don't kill people because it's "unethical" and about how wearing armour and carrying weaponry on you without a license could lead to people being "badly hurt", therefore she was forced to go back to her room and put away all of the armor and put on some more appropiate clothes for the occasion.

And after 30 minutes of going through the arduous process of figuring how and why she was meant to cover the horse part of her body, she managed to put on a shirt and a veil that acted like a skirt to cover the lower part of her body. Speaking of the reason why, through hard deliberation, she decided that humans hid away most of their bodies with cloths because of the fact that they wanted to hide their true strength, something very ingenious by her standards which helped with getting motivation for putting the clothes on.

As she entered the facility she saw, other than the scaly dragon lady, she assumed humans but after closer deliberation, she saw that it was more than meets the eye, literally in this case as she smelled how differently everyone was smelling from an average human. Well for most of them expects the curious girl who had two pieces of red glass on her face, Celena couldn't quite put her finger on it but she felt an unsettling feeling from her like that girl was a lot older than what the perfume and her appearance were showing, but she shrugged it off as it was probably the meals she was being fed and laid her down resting horse part of her body with her arms in front of her as she waited for the instructor.

As the horned man entered the facility and gave the basic information she was required to know she couldn't help but feel like he was unnecessarily rude to the kin of Thessalonike; "I mean they do make the Aegean sea rumble when you answer their question wrongly but by this point, the answer is so common knowledge that even the Persians should know the answer by this point."

After that, the man handed out weird looking versions of the "guns" she saw other agents, always wondering how these were meant to work she points it towards her face to look at the barrel of the gun and presses the trigger releasing a jet of water in her face, which she responded to by sighing and then wiping the water from her face; "What a Αχθος αρούρης.... So I am meant to hit the girl? Wouldn't that make her retort back to her old form, well if testing the ability to dodge by using water "guns" with the chance to incapacitate I can't wait what are we going to do when we get a were". As she points the barrel of the rifle at the girl and presses the trigger.

Baosihr laughed as Mara swore before making a run for it. She held the advantage, he could have just given the agents the water pistols first and then told her to run. Instead they were having to grab it and then go after her. Janus' wasn't quick enough as two agents managed successfully squirt Mara. He wondered how long she would last in these conditions. It was her limitations that landed her at a desk, she was too risky and could herself become a hazard to a mission. She needed to display something to prove that she could and would do whatever it would take to avoid being labelled a liability.

"Some things transcend age, but would you rather we use rubber bullets? Water is fairly harmless and gives Mara cause for concern that she has to overcome," he replied to Calliea.

One of the Elven agents squeezed the trigger of a water pistol, aiming in his general direction. Baosihr stepped back just enough to avoid getting wet, his eyes sliding over to the woman with a grin, though his eyes were clearly showing a lack of amusement. "You don't get points for hitting the trainer," he commented, before turning his attention back to Mara. "Keep running! Even if your lungs burn, your sides ache, and you want to surrender, you just keep pushing yourself Mara. Show that you will do whatever it takes, whatever you can to survive. After eight years, you still want to work as a field agent? Fucking prove it!"

He was trying to push Mara. Sure, he gave her shit constantly, but if she couldn't overcome that and try to fight against what everyone thought of her, then she'd always be stuck at a desk. Though... he just couldn't resist having a bit of fun while doing this exercise. He also did this to see who would find such an activity beneath them, and there were quite a few. Talk about sticks in the mud.

Adriel Smith
Agent
Nephilim
Hit: 10
Interacting: Fable Fable
Adriel was sleeping soundly when the warning sounded. It was like that of an alarm clock, only significantly louder. Perking her head up and opening her eyes, she was greeted to the sight of a cargo hold of an Airbus A400 Atlas. Around her were several other clear military personnel also in seats like herself.

It took her a second to remember her circumstances before it came back to her. The Chamber had called her a few days ago with another mission. It used to be in the olden days they sent an agent directly to your house with all the information, but in the modern world a phone call was quicker and more efficient. One quick conversation in the SMITED admin building and before she knew it, Adriel was in a train headed for France to rendezvous with her assigned team and in the air headed down to Africa. A routine operation later, thankfully with no injuries, the mission was done, and Adriel was back in the air headed for SMITED.

The cargo chief, a man who appeared to be physically in his late 30s, walked over to her. “We’ll be over SMITED in five minutes. Get yourself ready to drop.” Adriel responded with a thumbs up and began to check her equipment to ensure she was ready. She checked the time, noticing that it was already past time for the yearly evaluation. Adriel hated being late, but at least she had outstanding circumstances.

Normally, the Airbus would have landed at SMITED. After all, they had capabilities to handle aircraft of all sizes. Since this was a Chamber Airbus, however, landing for one passenger was unnecessary. After all, Nephilim could fly, and that’s how Adriel would be departing.

A few moments later, the man sitting next to her, the op’s CO, tapped her on the shoulder and offered his hand. “Pleasure as always, Adriel.” Gabriel had been the lead on more than a few assignments over the years that Adriel was a part of. He was a smooth operator, loyal to his team, and collected in combat. The man lived for the Chamber, and the rumors for the past few years had been he could be seeing some promotion in the near future. As Adriel returned the handshake, Gabriel added, “Next time you’re in Paris, drinks are on me.”

“I’ll hold you to that one, sir,” Adriel replied with a small laugh.

Unbuckling herself, Adriel stood up and moved to the center of the cargo hold, giving herself one last check over to make sure nothing was going to fall off during the flight. The cargo chief walked over to the side, pressing the red button to lower the cargo entrance as red lights began to circulate through the hold. He pressed his hand to his ear, listening to the comms for the call over the sounds of the wind coming from the open door. Watching him, Adriel could tell when the call came through as his hand left the side of his head.

“You’re clear: GO GO GO,” the man shouted, moving his arm in a circle towards the exit like a baseball pitcher preps his swing. Adriel needed no further encouragement. She ran, full sprint, for the exit, jumping into the clear morning sky, falling downwards as the plane continued on.

Freefalling right above the campus, Adriel took in the view. It had been a while since she had the opportunity to really linger her sight on it from above. It was incredibly how much it had changed, and how much it had grown, in the twenty-seven years she had been a part of the organization. It had been smaller in those days and a little looser. The rebranding and official reveal of supernaturals had pumped more money into the organization than Adriel could have ever expected complete with new facilities, equipment, the works.

When Adriel had fallen for about fifteen seconds, it was time to open her wings. The beautiful, white-feathered wings shot out behind her, spread wide, instantly catching the passing air and slowing her descent. It was always an adrenaline rush to do that, and it was personally Adriel’s favorite part of jumping. Using her wings, she reorganized her positioning, ensuring she was going to come down on the open field in front of the admin building. A minute later, Adriel gracefully landed in the field.

Heading to the admin building first, Adriel popped her head inside, going up to the secretary on duty, a new face that Adriel didn’t recognize. Grabbing a piece of paper and a pen on the counter, Adriel scribbled down a brief message and folded it, slipping in an official piece of paper from the Chamber confirming her words about being back and handed it to the secretary. “If you could make sure that Officer Torqen sees this, that’d be great. Thanks!” Adriel flashed the secretary a smile before turning away and leaving the admin building.

Walking over to the training building, Adriel entered to find some antics involving water guns already going. It seemed to be some sort of team sport with Mara and someone she didn’t recognize trying to avoid getting sprayed by the others with water guns. Poor Mara. Baosihr always was pushing her hard. It took her a minute to spot the training officer, Baoshir, on the side, looking as amused as ever with the training.

“Sorry I’m late, Officer Duadoch,” Adriel said as she walked up next to him. Others might refer to Baosihr in a more casual tone when on-duty, but Adriel was not such a person. Although he was a demon, Adriel held his work in high regards. He might be a bit of a sloth sometimes, but he was the reason that SMITED continued to have good field agents. “The Chamber called, and things were a bit delayed getting wheels up on the trip home.” She handed him a copy of the paperwork she had sent back to Taionia to verify.

“So what’s the challenge this year, sir? Wet the mermaid?” Adriel asked the demon. Unlike other agents who complained about the training, Adriel rather enjoyed the activities. It provided a good opportunity for her to meet the new arrivals for the first time and to see what kind of stuff they were made of.

Mara Poecilia
Mascot Agent
Merfolk
Hit: 10
Mara had figured this wasn’t going to go well, and by the looks of things she was right. The first stream of water had barely landed on her, soaking her shirt. While this was more than an annoyance than a concern, it soon began to become a concern when another agent managed to rush up in front of her. He managed to nearly empty the entire water gun point-blank, her face and hair now considerably damp from the limited spray.

To put it in perspective, it was similar to trying to hold back an extremely powerful sneeze. You wanted to give in and rid the horrid sensation from your nose. Simply multiply the entire sensation by 15 and have it cause your entire lower body to go numb.

The woman still heard what Baosihr, it causing her to clench her jaw even tighter as she tried to focus on avoiding the rest of the water. Having some help, however, would be wonderful. “Janus.” She would’ve snapped, although not breaking her stride while doing so. “Is it really that difficult to keep them away from me?”

"You don't get points for hitting the trainer."

"Rest assured Trainer Duadoch," Rill said icily. "If I do strike you with this, device." Rill waved the water pistol for emphasis, accidentally letting loose another short stream of water. "Blast and damnation! It shall be entirely accidental. It shall also be entirely your misfortune. After all, when one is presented with a weapon which one has no familiarity with, one can hardly be blamed for the results."

Rill carefully pointed the pistol away from Baosihr before firing it a third time, noting the distance the stream of water carried.

"Of course," she continued, speaking to no one in particular. "It might be too much to be hoped that one's trainer could possibly know information that certainly resides in training records, despite the extra time taken prior to the commencement of an exercise. One might almost think someone would take more pleasure in simply failing their charges, rather than to provide constructive assistance to those attempting to better themselves."

Rill paused to judge the movements of her fleeing target, then took off in an attempt to intercept the woman's path.

"But it is too much to hope that some can overcome the misfortunes of their, origins." she whispered as she ran past Baosihr, trying to close on her target.

Rosalia Liotta
Agent
Vampire
Hit: 10

"Yes sir..." Rosalia replied grudgingly to the demon standing before her. She was annoyed at this, but this was better than being stuck in a glass cubicle like Baosihr threatened. Once he went into further detail on just why they were doing this, it did ease her frustration slightly. So this is a new team?

Rosalia took another moment to look around. So far, there looked to be a desk-jockey Merfolk, a quiet Magician, a peppy Dragon-thing (She did not know the proper title), three very delicious yet pitiful looking Elves, a reckless disgusting and foul Werewolf Shifter, a clueless Bestial Centaur (at least she thought that's what it was), and a Nephilim by the name of Adriel who just walked in. Adriel was one of the few that Rosalia actually knew pretty well. They'd been on several missions before, and she definitely had Rosalia's respect. Still, looking at the rest, if this didn't scream a dysfunctional unit, hell would freeze over. For starters, Rosalia herself, a Vampire with somewhat common Vampire beliefs, did not fancy Bestials, despised Elves in spite of their taste, and absolutely hated Shifters. The only exception to common vampire belief were the Nephilim, somewhat. Overtime, having worked with Adriel over the years, she'd grown to be more neutral toward them then most vampires.

Having been on this Earth for 160 years she knew very well that she wasn't the only one with prejudice. Merfolk, for starters, normally don't fancy Vampires. She didn't know why, they just do, and most other races shared this same thought for some reason. Elves generally disliked Demons, and hate Vampires. Both of those things just so happen to be on the team right now. Shifters dislike Bestials, Elves, Nephilim, and like the foul beasts they are, hate Vampires. Surprise surprise, all of these happened to be on the team right now! Bestials, much like Shifters, don't like Elves, Nephilim, Shifters, or Vampires for that matter. Nephilim, generally hated Demons, and don't tend to care for Vampires much either. Though with Adriel that probably wouldn't be the case. The common theme of this being an unfortunate dislike for Vampires.

Now they were supposed to act like a team, and shoot Mara with a water gun, but that was already falling apart. The Werewolf already charged in guns blazing. Typical Shifter. Rather than communicating with the team, the bestial already started firing as well. New instructions were also added, with Janus to try and help defend Mara. Then, before she knew, now one of the damn elves was rushing in! Rather than just charge in, Rosalia was going to actually try and work out a plan with the remaining team mates. Walking over, she picked up the water pistol and took a good look at it. This thing held what, maybe five shots at most, maybe six? Not enough to just charge in and fire as fast as you can.

She then turned and faced her team mates that weren't busy firing at will like fools. As much as she inherently disliked most of them, she'd have to work with them. This was slightly annoying, but she'd worked with beings like this in the past...just not in such a large quantity.

"Alright..." She said, walking close enough to each individual to be out of the earshot of Janus, with the exception of the werewolf as she was did not have the patience to deal with him today.

"It would probably be best if we made a plan." Underneath her red tinted glasses, she made an extra effort to look each individual in the eyes in spite of her biases. "I'm a not commanding officer, so you certainly don't have to if you wouldn't like...." She was trying her best not to convey her racial beliefs on each person, though it was probably coming off as somewhat forced.

"That man over there, Janus, he's a magician. He hasn't done anything yet, but he makes portals and will make our task very difficult if we don't coordinate. Please come in closer so he can't hear us..."

In a very in-obvious fashion, Rose peered over her shoulder quickly to make sure Janus was not listening in. "It would be best if we probably each took a section of the gymnasium rather than blindly pursuing someone who could be anywhere else in an instance."

"I'll take the back-end. I'm quick enough to cover that area, and hopefully I can get there unnoticed. Uh..."

She paused, thinking more. The scent of the elves was extremely distracting to her right now.

"I don't know what the rest of you should do, or want to do." Rose then turned to Adriel, and her inner tension eased slightly at the sight of the familiar face. "However, it would make sense for you Adriel, with your wings to be in constant pursuit so that our prey-..." She paused suddenly. There had to be a better word than that. "Pardon me, objective, can't think and will wander into our traps."

"Like my plan or not, I know what I'm doing..."

Rose then turned, and fired a shot a Mara. This was not really intended to hit, but more to distract. The gym would be hard to sneak around in, but if Mara was distracted it would make it easier.

Roll
Screen Shot 2017-12-04 at 1.22.23 PM.png

With Mara hopefully distracted, along with the others hopefully being on board, Rosalia used her skills in stealth to quickly weave behind the crowd and head to the back end of the gym. There was no way she could actually hide. Afterall, it was an open gym. However, that didn't mean she couldn't go unnoticed. If Mara wasn't paying attention to her there was no way she could have seen her move to where she was now, so at least there may be some element of surprise.

Everyone had that litte voice in their head that spoke to them in times of weakness.
"Just one more piece of chocolate."

"Just one more episode."

"Just five more minutes."

But nobody she knew had such a vile little demon haunting their thoughts, like the one that Laura had the displeasure of sharing the same mind with.
And this morning the devilish creature's soothing whispers were more than enough to ruin her day before it even started...

Dark eyes shooting wide open the moment the sun's gentle light came to reach into the blinds of her scarcely furnished room, the woman's lanky frame jolted up from her bed.
"Fuck! I'm going to be so bloody late!" Laura groaned as she swiftly hurried out of her bed, almost tumbling over the pile of clothes laying on the floor as the woman got into her bathroom.

The sound of running water filling the small chamber as she felt the cool liquid run through her long fingers, splashing her face with the accumulated water and shuddering at the stinging sensation.
"Either scorching or freezing, no in-between, huh?" Laura mumbled, adjusting the cabinet's mirror as sunken eyes wandered over her gaunt features.

"Don't you dare, buddy." The woman hissed from behind gritted teeth as she started to fumble with her hair, trying to tame the wild mess of black bangs that adorned her head.
"No time for that." Laura remarked, putting the toothbrush back on the sink and hurrying back into her bedroom.

Slipping into a set of black jeans and a turtleneck of the same color as she balanced her lanky frame while trying to put on her boots while making her way to the door.
Snatching her keys, phone and wallet from the small cupboard before putting on her jacket and hurrying out of her apartment.

"Shit, shit, shit. What a way to make a first impression." The young woman would curse as she started to pick up her pace, long legs carrying her over cold asphalt, thankful for the lack of frost or else she'd be skiing to work this day.

The image of frosty streets making her flinch as a sharp pain surged through her head, making her exhale sharply as something inside her mind stirred.
"Not now..." Laura's cold breath unable to send misty clouds into the cool autumn air as the creature resting among her darkest memories started extending its curved claws into the realm of her thoughts.
"Yes, breakfast, I get it, now bugger off and let me get to work." The woman wrestled with the desire to simply stay home and avoid human interaction for the day, but raising herself off the ground and taking a deep breath, she decided otherwise.

----------------------------------

Finally arriving at the SMITED gymn, knowing very well that she'd be greeted by at least one set of raised eyebrows, Laura pushed the doors open.
Breathing heavily as she tried catching her breath, having ran as fast as she could to at least make it before the first few tests, Laura stepped inside.
"I...I am SO sorry, Officer Duadoch! I, uh, overslept!" Laura spoke with labored breaths as she rose to her full height and saluted, still unfamiliar with the many inner workings of SMITED.

Being a rookie didn't seem to bad, being a rookie who had to carry a Wendigo inside her brain wasn't.
Especially not seeing that the organisation she now belonged to wasn't all too fond of those who gave into the creature's influence and became horrible monstrosities.
A fate she hoped to avert by working closely together with those people who knew how to handle such supernatural threats.
"So, what did I miss?" Laura finally asked awkwardly, rubbing the back of her head as her stomach growled in response, the organ belonging just as much to her as it did to the creature that hungered for flesh.
"And, uh, you wouldn't know if there's some way to snag myself some breakfast?"

Celena Agrios
Agent
Bestial
Hit: 10
Ignoring the suspense the wild dodging of the mer in front of her, Celena was still perplexed by the way the water gun worked and how it propels water, at that point she figured a basis for aiming with the thing and then she started listening to the overall conversation and planning of everybody else. The first thing she picked up on was the horned man who was meant to instruct her to give Mara encouragement and told her to push herself, as she heard that her back hairs began to tingle and her tail to waggle at the prospect of pushing yourself to achieve better heights, of course, she wanted the mer to improve herself and she is more than happy to help with that, showing that willingness to help by charging in... only stopped by the comment of the weird girl.
"Mhmm, you are right... just charging at her blindly wouldn't result in a strong enough incentive for the girl to push herself..." as she looked around to see what she could possibly do in order to create the biggest opportunity of hitting the mermaid, or at least try to corner in order for other people to hit her. From looking around the arena, what she saw she wasn't the most avid admirer of teammates, to which at that point she spotted Xaira, another bestial, someone she was clearly happy to see due to the wide mischievous grin.
She raised her hand in the air and then addressed the girl "Hey you! You have scales on your body and wings meaning you must be the kin to the drákons, which already makes you a more competent fighter then most here already in my eyes, if you really care for the girl you would want her to do her best and as our trainer said help her "push herself" and therefore proving herself.Say... it looks kind of difficult to maneuver around with those wings in this enclosed space.... ever rode a horse?" she says continuing to say with that wide grin on her face.
She galloped next to the girl and then laid on the ground to make it so it was easier to be get up on, and soon as she did she said to Xaira "So are you now going to help your friend by making her do her best now or are you going to go easy on her and deal with what will happen when she gets hurt on the battlefield?"

"Oh no, oh no!" Sol whispered between gasps. Her first interaction at the SMITED HQ and she was more than an hour late. She had left her room plenty early to make it to her destination, but here she was, sprinting towards the SMITED gym like a fool. What had she been doing to be so behind? She recalled greeting and stopping to speak with every agent she crossed paths with as she made her way towards the gym. Most conversations lasted about one to three minutes, but there was one paticular lady that had a lot to say about her soon-to-be ex boyfriend. Yikes. Sol cringed at the memory of the woman's rage. Poor guy was going to have a rough day.

When she reached the gym doors Sol less than gracefully attempted to fling them open by first missing the door handle and running straight into the closed doors. Her second attempt was much more successful as she actually managed to open the doors. She barely opened it wide enough, however, and ended up clipping her arm against the closing door, earning a pained hiss from the fiery girl. She sent the door a quick glare before turning towards the center of the gym, an excuse already rolling off of her tongue before the chaotic scene taking place within the concrete walls of the gym silenced her. In most cases Sol would have been more than eager to join in on the fun, especially since the majority of the agents in this room Sol had never spoken to, but for the first time in a long time Sol wanted no part of this game. A poor woman seemed to be sprinting around the room, fleeing from the pack of people chasing her with water guns, which was the equivilent of them chasing her with real guns in Sol's eyes.

With a nervous chuckle and a small apologetic wave to Officer Duadoch, Sol shuffled towards the emptiest corner of the gym, praying silently that the fleeing woman would run anywhere but there and rooting for her to dodge better than, well, better than whatever she was doing now.

Tarrin Selanlar
Agent
Naavar Elf
Hit: 10

So much information was being thrown around the room that Tarrin barely even had time to register that he didn’t even like vampires before he was nodding along to Rosalia’s plan. Wolf-boy was throwing himself in willy-nilly, Janus would probably start throwing portals around soon, and poor Mara was dodging as if her life depended on it. If he had noticed who was trying to lead them, he probably wouldn’t have cared much given the circumstances – he would much prefer to follow a vampire’s plan than look like an idiot on his own. He didn’t exactly have the worlds greatest aim either, so the more pistols the better, as far as he was concerned.

Still, he hesitated ever so slightly as he lifted one of the water pistols, unsure how much help he’d be. At least he wasn’t being asked to actually attack the woman, he hated fighting. Tarrin watched, observing the others, noting where each individual took up position before taking his own off to one side of the gym, waiting for an opportunity to squirt Mara, should she appear near him.

As he waited, the doors burst open and in strolled an agent unlucky enough to be even more late than their instructor. Did no one care about punctuality anymore? And why was she asking about breakfast? Couldn’t she see they were a little busy right now? Distractions seemed to be appearing in numbers this evening, as yet another late comer arrived, who seemed to immediately notice the danger these particular pistols held towards herself and retreated to the farthest corner.

Tarrin made a note that, while this was an opportunity to prove himself, all it seemed to be proving was that he didn’t do too well under pressure and he hated tardiness.

Janus
"God of Doorways"
4ccb118961f0a104fa6fe31015086cae.jpg

Zzz...

Janus blinked and suddenly looked up blearily. What happened? Had he... been asleep? That was bad. His lack of sleep had indeed started affecting him, more severely than he had expected. What was he supposed to be doing? Janus had caught the last sentiment their instructor had given out and took a few moments to turn them over in his head, still slightly groggy from fatigue. A training exercise? He was supposed to aid Mara in not getting wet, for some reason. Janus frowned, it wasn't the most exciting task he had ever been given, but it was a task nonetheless.

(Defend roll: 22)
Glancing over to where Mara roughly was fleeing, likely in panic, Janus willed 6 portals into existence. They were about the size of dinner plates and revolved haphazardly at a relative distance around Mara, although they were barely a defence as not much of the body was covered. It was then that Janus realised that he wasn't really supposed to act with the Merfolk's command. It was a strange exercise, but he didn't particularly mind. This was less an assessment of his judgement and skills than his ability to actually follow orders. He was very aware of his own... tendencies, and the records in SMITED ensured that the higher ups probably knew as well. Still, the main objective was, at a guess, to instill some level of teamwork in the candidates and to test Mara herself physically and mentally. If Janus was merely there to ensure she actually had a chance doing just that, who was he to deny her it?

It was then that Mara gave him a semi-instruction, quite irritatedly calling on him to defend her. While it didn't offend Janus in the slightest, it definitely made him aware again that he was being uncharacteristically slow. Sleep was essential to stay functional, and he was nothing if not highly functional. Sighing and getting up from the wall he had once again been leaning against, Janus glanced around the entire room for a brief moment. That was enough.

(Attack roll: 98)
Instantly, a person-sized portal (relative to the size of each person) appeared above everyone with a water pistol and all those currently gathering in that little 'planning group' that had formed not too far away. The portal would then, supposing the individual was not fast enough to dodge, descend quickly down on said people, swallowing them up into the purple swirling energy until they had completely disappeared. Upon exiting the portal, each individual would find themselves outside of the gym, a good distance away from the main door. Janus reasoned that they couldn't soak Mara if they were nowhere near her, and Baosihr had not forbidden him from teleporting anyone else outside of the gym.

Additionally, not everyone had taken a water pistol yet. Another two portals appeared, one directly in front of Mara, her momentum hopefully meaning she fell into it, and one over the water pistols themselves. Both would find themselves directly next to Janus, supposing his efforts succeeded. The magician promptly picked up a water pistol.

"Order me to-" He stopped himself, flicking his eyes to the side to quickly glance at their trainer. Janus wasn't allowed to call the shots with Mara in anyway, so he couldn't simply get her to order him to do anything. Shame. He looked back at the Merfolk woman and nodded at the water pistols he had procured. Hopefully, she would figure out that he wanted to shoot them all, wasting all the shots left and limiting the others to those they had on them. If not then... Janus wasn't sure what he COULD do in that case. He couldn't act on his own, nor could he make Mara know exactly what to do given their current situation. Hell, he couldn't even advise her unless she asked him to. It was quite a predicament.

(Fatigue Roll: 45)
Resigned to having his hands metaphorically tied, Janus leaned against the wall again and slid down it to the floor, exhausted. That little stunt had proved to be more than he could handle after all, especially in his state. For a moment he even blacked out, holding his hands on the floor to prevent himself faceplanting. They could also barricade the main door somehow and delay the arrival of the others. He kept an eye out in case anyone had managed to evade his portals, ready to somehow defend Mara should they choose to attack immediately. She still had the 6 small portals slowly revolving around her body, but they provided very little defence indeed. Still, Janus had no reason or energy to alter them just yet. Already, he was beginning to feel the toll of all those portals he'd created, bringing him to the verge of unconsciousness. If he had been tired before, his fatigue had probably doubled now. His focus kept slipping and things got blurry if he looked elsewhere too quickly. This was going to seriously hinder his ability to use his powers, or anything really. He could only hope Mara had some plan in mind, or at the very least the same plan he did.

Baosihr Duadoch
Training Officer
Demon
Hit: ??
Baosihr took the paper from Adriel, shoving into his back pocket without even glancing at it, " Not shocked to hear of a delay. The uptick in events these past five years makes one wonder if the announcement was the best idea. Too late now to regret that decision though. And yes, Mara is yet again the target, if she doesn't make it this year, rumor mill has it that she'll be pretty much just promoted to a better office job. I had to pull a few strings this year to get her name in the hat for the new team formations."

He directed his attention back to the elf who had nearly gotten him with the water gun, "Oh, you think I don't know your skills or who you are? If you prefer an easy job without having to adapt to the tools made available, then perhaps field work isn't for you. You're looking at everything only surface deep." He left it at that as the elf moved forward to engage finally. So many of them were so focused on the oddity of the assignment that they were missing the point. At least Rosalia was getting it, taking the initiative to try and form a team rather than charge in color, water guns blazing. She had come over to them and tried to formulate a plan, "Ah Rosalia, taking charge?
Good to see."

He glanced over at the doors opened to another late agent, Laura. Her. His eye narrowed slightly as he had brought up some objections to her being put on a team, but he couldn't argue that she'd be better controlled with a team. A human host, it was a strange thing to read on. "I would prefer if you ate first and came late afterwards, considering the risk. There is a vending machine in the hallway, get something and get your ass back here, but to not join the game. You're missing out on this round of fun."

Baosihr sighed and shook his head at a few other developments, the Centaur trying to get the Dragonkin to ride on her. It wasn't the worst idea, but it wasn't ideal. The amount of those late made him start to lose his patience. He himself had been an hour late, and as much as he couldn't fault them for tardiness, to come later then him irked him. "Sol!" he shouted out, "Don't think I didn't notice you! If you think you're gonna be able to hide over there, you are mistaken."

Janus did something smart and yet stupid at the same time. He tried to remove all the threats to Mara, but by doing so had pushed himself too far. He kept quiet, he wanted to see how this was going to play out. Janus didn't seem the self-sacrificing type, but to go all out like this made Baosihr wonder if there was hope for the cocky jerk yet. He raised a had to his chin and his eyes narrowed, "Very interesting."

Celena Agrios
Agent
Bestial
Hit: 10
As Celena was salivating laying down awaiting Xaira's response daydreaming about the combat she is going to change into and claim her fame when suddenly a weird looking disk covered her and her water gun and suddenly she was outside of the training facility laid on the ground in the same position she was on inside of the training facility, surprised by this Celena either taught it was an illusion, a thought quickly dismissed by the fact of seeing everyone else's expressions and actions to the environment, meaning that the only thing tha couldve happened is that they were transported outside.

And then she stood up sighing at the same time from the fact that they were all caught off guard most likely because they were bickering, she dusted her front two legs and then stretched by leaning her horse part forward and stretching her shoulders. She then proceeded to turn to the rest of the people who were gathering themselves. "Right, I do assume that you guys know we got tricked worse than poor king Odysseus, Artemis why did you have to send him on a voyage after the troy war..." as her rambling got stopped by a cough" As I was saying we should probably try and work together from now on, now if you would excuse me, we still have work to do don't we?" As she turns around towards the training facility cracking her knuckles to get ready to gallop for the door. And as she says that she squints her eyes taking in the distance of how far away they are from the actual training facility and lets out a sigh again, looking once more back at her comrades and realizing that they probably won't be able to make it there fast enough in order to assist.
She lays down and then tells the people behind her once more;
"Ok now on a second thought you might require assistance to get there, so I'll let two of you ride with me once you are ready then I will go, but get a good grip on."

After waiting enough she began galloping really fast towards the training facility and once near enough to the door she charges and breaks one of the doors with a shoulder barge propelled by the speed she was running at, once in she looks around to see Janus gasping for air on the ground after his little trick and then she says; "You'd be the guy who transported us outside of the training facility weren't you? Well after all the outside world keeps surprising me, but I see you got quite tired so please rest and allow us to continue, thank you."

She then turned her head towards Mara and again sporting the grin of a person who was having fun, of course not the fun you would usually have when playing with water guns, no the type of grin you make when you see something that you want, and Celena wanted Mara. "Well miss, I was rather surprised but I see that your associate is out of breath meaning that you don't have any more tricks up your sleeve, do you? Well then unless the trainer said it's over, which from his look I can't tell he doesn't want this to end quickly, I suggest you get ready to run"As she let's out a massive gasp for air" As soon as I get m-my breaath back" As she waits for a bit.

Zeke re-holstered the water pistol into his belt with the final shot inside. It was a small victory to him, he landed a shot on her. Not enough to make her turn into her aquatic form, but he contributed more than the "planners". His wolf could hear their entire conversation. Their plan seemed reasonable and to the inexperienced hunter, it made sense. The looks, the glaring emotions on their faces, and maybe even some comments, it was all shit he received from the few people he would meet outside of his pack. One part of him wanted to rub it in that vampire's face just how stupid she was. Another honestly didn't care, he watched her wiggle her way down the gym thinking Mara wasn't going to notice her. She would, but the vampire would look so unthreatening that it would work. That or Mara would focus on people who were actually shooting her, not shooting the instructor or themselves. So her actual plan crutched on Janus not doing something and Mara not noticing. Especially since he held his head up because he was actually chasing her, tiring her out and learning her movements. He already had stopped and watched how she traveled the gym. She moved quite quickly and for a woman of her fitness, to him, she was fully capable of handling herself. Would he throw her out really hard, Nah. He would start her slow, she seemed to know what she's doing.

Zeke rolled his eyes at the planners, he picked off his headphones from his belt, put them on and returned to his wolf form. They were very small on his human head, fitting decently but it wasn't their intention. On his wolf head, their small size fits nicer and showed how they were bigger on his wolf head than others. However, the crimson fur had a clear tug on them. A crimson, shiny wolf with blueish headphones at the opposite side of the gym jamming out as he watched Mara with intense focus. He started to move to the vampire, wall running behind her in wolf form. He looked at Mara again before stepping to the side of the vampire and moved his paws to satire her communicating her plan briefly before running out towards Mara briefly. He started to dash side to side again, moving towards the centaur and kin to help them. He quickly morphed in his human form as he turned back around to monitor Mara's status.

"Okay, follow me. If this works, you should have a shot." Zeke said in his human form, "I'll block her line of sight for a moment, once I am out of the way. Shoot. I should end up in front of her either way." He noticed that they were gone before he could finish. He transformed into his wolf form, pawing the gym floor for a second while he smiled back at them. He for a second paused, shedding a tear. 'Matthew...' After shaking himself, he returned to the wall to bounce off of it into the air where he corkscrewed then front flipped. He was heading for straight in front of Mara, moving has he intended with his little plan. Then the sensation in his ears came up, a nice little portal. Zeke howled as he went through, shooting out of the other end a fair distance as he passed through. Landing on his feet, he rolls around observing his surroundings.

'Well shit, that magician got me. Should have known from the disappearance. Oh well, it doesn't matter. Makes my job of pretending to shoot her a hell of a lot easier.' Zeke sat on the ground for a moment checking his gear, everything seemed in order. Zeke rolled his eyes back before he walked a couple steps forward. He was mostly delaying time while the instructor couldn't see him. Slowly he let the others go first before he sprinted to the door, nodding to the centaur he caught up to. He waited a few moments. He jumped again where he coordinated his last shot to come from where Mara would likely dodge, not really aiming for her at all, with a nice corkscrew in human form. He whimpered softly, slightly hoping it missed. Then as the other agents entered the building, he conveniently stopped where [he hoped] Mara would dodge after that, [with a hope that] she would either trip over him or risk getting shot assuming that he was even remotely right.

He started to "blush" a bit. She seemed nice, why were people so hard on a capable person? Maybe people just didn't have the amazing sight he had. Zeke's thoughts exactly. Either way, he started to jam and jump around the room, working on some of his "tricks" which usually include flips, corkscrews, and other cool acrobatic movements as a warmup for the next game.
