You have all shown interest in the Western RP--while I start the thread for the RP proper, you can all start submitting your characters. I am going to shamelessly steal a character sheet I found on deviantart, since it seems to have a lot of detail! But I'm changing it a bit. Feel free to write up a little bio to explain things further.

Bio/Notes: His father, Kirby Smith, hid his birth hidden from his wife. His mother, the mistress of Kirby, was sent to a piece of Kirby’s property about 40 miles from the main house. There, he was raised with many blacks that worked along side whites. Times were tough and money was scarce, so everyone did their part. Levi grew close with a lot of the other workers. When he was 14, his dad started training him “just in case”. As it turns out, he was right to do so. With the skills to ride and gun alongside other men, he fought in different regiments, from Tennessee’s 1st Cavalry to Virginia’s 4th Cavalry.
Before the war was over, him and a few brothers-in-arms decided to track and rob Union bank caravans. The 5th job took its toll. Out of 7 men, only him and his friend from childhood, Abbot, survived. They gathered their bounties and rode off. From Louisiana to Tennessee, then back towards Texas, the pair wandered. That is, until they met one of the men they had robbed during the war. He killed Abbot and nearly killed Levi, too. Against all odds, he crawled towards a small cave and recuperated. There was a reason the other soldiers called him patches. He was like an old pair of pants; No matter the injury, he could be patched up and sent back to fight. Anyways, he now wanders the west in search of the man that killed his only friend.
By the way, Levi heard word he was in a town called Johansson.

Bio/Notes: Born Jenny Stewart to Joanna and Martin Stewart on April 2nd, 1851 in Fairfield Iowa. Her parents had immigrated to the newly appointed Iowa state from Pennsylvania in pursuit of new opportunities. Jenny’s father was a gunsmith and was primarily cleaning and repairing various firearms. Due to being so close to the wild west, he was able to get steady work in the infant town of Fairfield.

Jenny’s life was pretty normal and quite idealistic for a child her age. Her life seemed perfect until she was 10 years old and the war began. Her father was unfortunately drafted. The last memory she has of her father was him telling her that he’ll back and that’s she the man of the house now. He tried to keep in contact as much as possible with letters sent from the war. One day, the letters stopped. In 1864, she and her mother got word that Martin was killed in the battle of Pea Ridge. He was shot in the head by a Confederate soldier. This was just the beginning of the family’s misfortune.

With no gunsmith, the family had to shut up shop and move back East but Jenny didn’t want to leave. She was 14 and had no desire to leave the only place she knows. She told her mother that she plans to stay but her mother was having none of it, so she ran away from home. She left Fairfield and headed West towards the territories. With little experience and little money, she wanted to make something of herself. Months went by, she was cold, alone, starving and stealing here and there to be able just to survive. She misunderestimated the cruel beast of the West. One day, while she was sleeping in a barn in an abandoned ranch, a man found her. The man revealed himself to be from her father’s regiment. He went to find her after he discovered she ran away from home. He wanted to give her something from her late father. It was his Whitworth rifle. He wanted her to have it. She took the rifle and cried. Her father was still thinking of her. Seeing the girl’s situation, the man took it upon himself to teach her to survive before he went on his way, For 2 years, he taught her how to hunt, gather, fish, shoot, make camp; everything needed to know to live in the wild west.

Jenny started seeing the man as a father figure but the man revealed he already had a family. He was helping her out of respect for her father who saved his life in the war. He felt guilty that he couldn’t do the same for him. She was 16 when he left. She has never seen him since. Since then, she’s just been living and learning in the territories. She became the woman that she wanted to be.

Bio/Notes: Warren was born in the town of Clonakilty in west County Cork, Ireland. In 1846 at the age of 12, Warren's family fled the famine in Ireland, and arrived in the United States of America. Unlike most of the other Irish immigrants, Warren and his family found themselves in the South. They went to work in New Orleans, Louisiana first but quickly found a home with a community of fellow Catholic Irish in Tennessee, and with it they successfully opened/operated a shop for several years. During this time Warren learned woodworking and also how to play the fiddle, which he both used to make a buck or two on the side. While working in the shop he developed a habit for proactively doing little tasks, because his father could be demanding.

In mid 1861, Warren joined over 700 fellow Catholic Irishmen in forming the 10th Tennessee Infantry Regiment, the "Sons of Erin." They were one of only 2 Catholic Irish regiments in the CSA. They garrisoned at Fort Donnelson, TN. The US Army attacked in February 1862; after fighting for 3 days and losing many comrades, Warren was taken prisoner along with the survivors, destined for Illinois. He still dislikes and fears locks or the prospect of being locked in anywhere. However later that year they were exchanged and reformed, and fought on in numerous battles from Tennessee to Louisiana, Georgia, and the Carolinas. By the end of the war, Warren was among the luckiest men in the regiment--he was part of only about a 1/7th that survived, and his wounds were practically inconsequential. His left ring finger was shot off in one engagement, and in another he lost his right ear lobe--but not his head. The other various bruises have long gone away, as have the pangs of hunger, although he dislikes peanuts. Warren and the men had to eat a lot of peanuts.

The last Warren had heard, his family had moved back to New Orleans to escape US forces in Tennessee. Yet only a few months later, Union forces successfully seized New Orleans. Warren had no idea how they were, but found out after the war that both had perished. He woke up from a near-fatal drunken slumber in a church; the concerned priest had picked him up off the street. After getting to know Warren, the priest helped Warren reconnect with his faith and trained him. But the relationship didn't last forever--Warren fled west, desperately seeking a new life and escape. He has been living in Johannsson for years now.

Laura Addams is a spitfire daughter of western settlers, she works a waitress in the bar so she can hear the stories beyond her little town. She lives just outside of town with her Ma, a housewife, her Pa, who works in his fields and sells his goods, her older brother Clark, who is a general nuisance to his sisters, and her younger sister Polly, who adores and admires her older sister. Laura and her brother were born in Indiana, in 1859 and 1857 respectively, and her family moved west to Johansson when she was two years old. Her sister Polly was born there two years later.

Johansson being the only place Laura knows, she has very much adapted to their culture and cannot imagine life outside the town, as much as she tries. She once took an ill fated trip East when she was 17, but returned a year later, vowing never to leave her home town again.

Despite her love of her town and its people, Laura spends every spare moment on the prairie, no fear of the natives. The rumors of her families experience with natives fly. Something happened in her house when Laura was five... or was she six? All that's known was a native was seen in the area, and a passing stranger disappeared.

Laura is a tall woman with a young face, her voice and attitude is assertive and the moves with such purpose she often trips over the end of her dress. She is sought after by the men, but she has no use for the pleasures they offer, and only use them for her own means.

Many of troubles and adventures Laura gets into in this town are well known to all, save a few secrets she keeps close to her heart. For the time being anyway.
