Slatnemele High

"Hmm, was it in one of those ogham books? For many people studying the dead language isn't going to hurt them," she thought of Lata but realized that while she was protected against the encroachment of the Fae in her mind, it would hurt her in a far different manner. "For someone who is sensitive to things like you are, it is best to learn about this stuff in a safe place, where you have ample room work. There's got to be a place on campus that's good for stuff like this. I'll ask the librarian later, I bet he will know. Do you want to learn to shield now or later?"

Umm, Jessica, you were going to leave so that's why I made you 'change school' but don't worry, if you want to stay in the rp then. But don't worry.

"Yeah. We can shield now but lemme just show you the thing I found." I slipped the cd out of my pocket and handed it to Aoibheann. "It was in one of the inside covers of the books. And if it was hidden it's bound to be important right?"I gestured 'one second' with my hand to Aoibheann and hopped towards my side-table. I picked my laptop up, pushing the book that was on top of it back onto the table, then hopped back to Aoibheann. "We can watch the cd on this."

The halls of the Earth Wardens always attracted Lata. It was a joy to rush through them, causing an almost howling roar as the currents whipped through the cavernous expanse. She had some class or other right now but it had little bearing on her to sit through forty minutes of idiots making little orbs and giggling at one another. She may not have liked to admit it, but being part Fae had advantages.

For the longest time, Lata had been able to do as she wished. Not because of influence or pull or anything like that, but people just tended to see her at places she wasn't or not see her at all. Lata barely went to class yet still had won awards for perfect attendance. She rarely studied, but even working with her opposite elements things just came naturally to her. At first this sickened her, she strived to make sure it was her ability and not the Fae blood enhancing things. This worked until she realized that people just assumed (if they knew) that it was her origin, not her actual skill that was the source of her talent. After this, Lata essentially gave up, not caring enough to prove to others that it was her ability.

Lately too, Lata had been seeing things. Especially after visiting her mother. Golden strands of sub reality floating through the world. Curiously, she investigated. It was what she thought. Gossamer. The stuff of dreams floating through. Lata had yet to experiment with it and for good reason. Nobody that interacted with the Fair Folk's domain remained the same.

Sliding into the Elemental Records room, Lata gave a brilliant smile to the receptionist and began going through the hundreds of thousands of drawers until she found what she needed. A lump of unshaped cold iron. It made her want to puke looking at it. Lata sighed. The things she did for Aoibheann...

Wrapping her hand up in a thick glove she had taken from a shop, she deposits the lump into a satchel and sneaks out. The school a blur, she speeds to the Dragon's room. Knocking with customary gusto.

There was an unexpected knock at the door. I pushed the laptop to the side, and got up, brushing my clothes. I also took the cd out of Aoibheann's hand. I opened the door to see Lata. Crystal gave a half-forced smile. "Lata! What brings you here?" I craftily slipped the cd back into my pocket, making sure Lata didn't realize. I ushered her in, and sat her next to Aoibheann.

Gonna make a new character, just random.

Name: Jed

Age:17.

Picture:

Personality: Jed is smart, confident, and compassionate. He loves music. He can play the keyboard, piano, trumpet, recorder, violin, drums, and the guitar. He writes songs sometimes, usually accompanied by the guitar.

Extra: -

Friends/best friends: He finds everyone is his best friend.

Surprised, Aoibheann looked up and smiled at Lata. "Someone's been sneaking again. What'd you nick this time?"

I sat back down and looked at Lata intently, realizing there was a big lump in her satchel which hadn't previously been there.

Jed sat on his bed in his dorm room, relaxing. His was lying down and even though his laptop was on his stomach, he wasn't using it much.

Lata gives an over elaborate bow to the Dragon as she enters.

"Sneaking is such a negative term love, I think remaining unnoticed works better. Don't you?" Lata smiles and dumps the contents from the satchel. A large chunk of cold iron clunking onto the desk. Already a rash could be spotted on her hands, right before she plants them on her hips, hiding the reddening palms.

"From the depths below, courtesy of the Earth Wardens. A chunk of cold iron. Ready for shaping into what have you." She grins "You are welcome for such a swift and pertinent action"

I giggled as Lata gave me an elaborate bow. "You don't have to do that." I winked at her as she continued into the room. I closed the door behind her, and sat back down again. I sighed, astonished as she dumped the cold iron onto the desk. "Oh my God, you already got it?" I smiled at her and picked the cold iron up, turning it around in my hands. "Thank you. That was so quick!" I smiled at her again, and placed the cold iron on my bed with a flourish. I thought of the cd. "Are you gonna stay?" I looked at her expectantly.

Jed got up, pushing the laptop to the side, and got his arithmetic book out of the side table drawer. It was arithmetic first thing tomorrow morning and he had just realized he needed to do his homework. He also took a pen out of the drawer, and then closed it. He sighed, as he started to answer the questions for his homework. He heard a knock on his door and a few girls giggling. He sighed again, annoyed. It wasn't the secret knock that he had told all the people that had permission to come to his dorm. Probably fan girls. He got up and slipped a piece of paper under the door, then got back to doing his homework. He heard the girls 'aah'-ing as they saw the paper. Wait for it... And then he heard the moans from the girls as they read what was in the paper. He smiled to himself. If he had opened the door, they would have all hoarded in and started swooning over him pathetically.

] Btw, Jed's a nature elemental.

:)

Jessica passed a bunch of girls outside of David's dorm room.

"What the hell are you guys doing?" She asked them.

-

Jed listened out but there were still girls outside his door. Irritated, he got another piece of paper and wrote:

I'm doing my homework guys. PLEASE go?

He slipped the paper under the door again and heard some disappointed moans as the girls started to leave. He sat back down and continued to answer his homework. He heard people talking in the dorm next to them but only faintly. As far as he knew, a new girl had arrived to slatnemele.

Finally back in his office, Alistair sat and listened to the coffee machine working its magic. He had found a particularly good one, with a built in grinder and bean storage, and now it was percolating the coffee and he could se the dark liquid filling the jug, even as the aroma of dark roasted Arabica filled the office. His little nostalgia trip of earlier that afternoon had galvanised him as much as it had exhausted him. He decided that after its long years of apparent misuse, he would see about updating the library; opening the study rooms again, perhaps getting computers in here that weren't steam-driven, adding wi-fi so students could use their laptops. A traditional library was as much as social location as a study location and Alistair remembered the groups of people that used to gather in the library specifically to study one subject or another.

He'd never actually been a part of any of those groups, he'd always felt awkward in socialising. But if he could draw people back to using the library as a resource, he could garner more funding for better facilities. He poured his coffee out and sat and planned.

Jessica giggled.

"Proabably David's fangirls." She said to herself as she went to the next dorm room and unlocked it with her key.

"Crystal! The guys told me you had came back to the dorm so I rushed over. I have got to tell you some-" Jessica stoped talking as she noticed everyone in their dorm room.

"Oh.....I didnt know people were here. Im so sorry."

I blushed as Jessica burst into the room, and sighed. "It's okay. Where did you disappear off to? And come out for a second I need to tell you something." I got up and walked out of the dorm room, and took Jessica with me.

"Look, if you could... I don't know. Me and Aoibheann are going to shield so it would be better if I was alone.. but Lata's here too. Could you ask her to... I don't know. Show you something in the school or something? I would like it if Aoibheann and I were alone."

Jed concentrated hard on his arithmetic question. He was on the harder section of questions. He was ace at Arithmetic, but the questions were bound to be hard if Jed was having difficulty with them. He took an inward breath, annoyed, as he heard people talking in the new girl's room. He was trying to concentrate, but it sounded there were more than 2 people in the room. He got up, making sure there was no one outside the door, then got out and locked the door behind him. He was about to open the new girls door and lean in, when his gaze hovered over two girls standing outside the door. One was a girl with pink hair- the new girl. She was pretty... then he looked at the girl talking to her. She was... slatnemele's angel. Yes, that was it. What was her name again? Jasmine... Jessie? They were both pretty but the 'angel' had something unique about herself... He sighed, and shook his head, shaking the thought away. "You guys in that room?" He vaguely gestured towards the new girl's room. "Could ya please keep the noise down? I'm trying to do some homework. Thanks." He shot a lopsided smile at the 'angel' and then returned to his homework.

Jessica blushed as Jed did his little lopsided smile. She turned back to Crystal

"No its cool, I can just go hang with Soul again. By the way. You were so right. I think Im in love with that boy." She giggled and waved to Crystal before going back to hang with Soul.

I giggled. "Seriously? I knew it! I so, told you!" I sighed... when was my love life going to start? I had helped Jessica to get her love life on track... I shook the thought away. Now was not the time. I waved to Jessica, then returned back to Aoibheann and Lata. "It's cool. She's gone to hang with Soul." I leaned in and whispered, "She's in love with him!" I giggled, then winked, and sat back down obediently.

Jed heard the new girl giggle about something in the next room. He shrugged to himself. She was probably giggling away to the angel. They were pretty, but not in that way. They were way too young for him. He sighed. They were cute in a small, adorable way, ya know?

Jessica skiped back into the room where Soul and the others were sitting.

"Hey guys! Sorry bout that but Im back~!" She sat down and smiled.

"Welcome back",Jung Hwa said smiling,"Soul went to go drop some paperwork off at the Water Class".Ai Min giggled,"He's overly obsessed with water".Tai smirked at Ai Min,"You shouldn't speak...you're obsessed with Jung Hwa".Ai Min blushed with Jung Hwa as they looked away at the same time

"Ooh, you found iron and you got a rash." She paused as Jessica showed up then left. She was further delayed when some boy came over to ask them to quiet down. "We're doing important stuff over here and the quiet hours are not yet in affect. If you want quiet so much then get yourself off to the library where it's always quiet hours but unless you're doing something half as important as us, you be quiet. And take those stupid, simpering and inane girls with you." She glared at the boy, angry that he'd barged into something that was none of his business, Jed, she thought his name might be.

She turned to Lata and Crystal. "Okay, so we have the iron, I can play with it later. For now, you need to learn to shield and we need a good place to do that." She pursed her lips and picked up the chunk of iron. "Let's go have a talk to the librarian, he might know of a good place for it. I heard there used to be a greenhouse on the premises. Coming Lata?"

"Perhaps. I'm sorely tempted to wind burn half the student body at this point." She glares angrily at each individual that came and went. Her entire dramatic reveal ruined by overly excited hormones and silly pop culture fads. If these students put half as much effort into their skills as they did their 'relationships' they'd be shaping continents.

"And why a greenhouse. Glass shatters far too often for my liking. But if I stay here I will no doubt be expelled for murdering the populace. Lead on love"

"Soon",Ai Min answered with a smile,"Oh and someone gave this to us to give to you",she said handing Jessica a rose,"It was that young man over there",she pointed at David

Jessica blushed and looked over at David. David blushed and looked away. Jessica sighed and got up and walked over to David, handing him the rose.

"David this was very kind of you, but I dont feel the same about you. So please...Leave me alone..." Jessica turned to leave but David grabed her wrist

"Jessica please. Just give me a chance." Jessica sighed and took her hand back, not looking at David

"Im sorry David." She walked back over to her friends and sat down looking at her lap.

Soul walked in and sat in his chair,he looked at Jessica noticing that she seemed a bit upset,"Are you okay,Jessica?",he questioned gently as he placed a hand on her shoulder
