Allegiance: Tanako clan/ The Emeperor

Personality: Hisamune is usually a very laid back person that likes to take life easy yet he seems to have no desires of his own. He is fiercely loyal and protective of his master lady Honoko. he personally doesn't care about the war in the slightest only what he was raised to believe in, and that was his duty to protect and ensure that lady Honoko dream's come true.

Bio: Hisamune was born and raised for one purpose only, to protect the Tanako clan. His parents drilled this him into along with combat training and proper etiquette. Everyday it was the same thing over and over again, Hear about the greatness of the Tanako's, train with sword and spear, then learn how to treat others of higher status. Due to this annoying routine he began to hate the Tanako's, after all why should he exist only to help them. His mentality didn't begin to change until he met her.

The first time he met lady Honoko was when he was 10. She was still a young girl of age five and it was determined that he would begin acting as her bodyguard. It was of course for show at first, I mean really how could a 10 year old be a body guard for a five year old? Well the show continued and it slowly began to become reality.

Over the course of the next five years Hisamune's skill in spearmanship grew greatly as well as his friendship with the young Honoko. He began to hate the Tanako's less and less with every day he spent with Lady Honoko. He even began to help her train when she wanted to learn how to fight. It was all great until that one fateful day.

That day was the best and worst day of Hisamune's life. Early that morning he had been given the day off of bodyguard duty because his family needed him for something. Well it turned out his family needed to give him his new weapon, the 'Ransu" as it would be called. overjoyed he spent the day training with the weirdly shaped and heavy lance, the weapon was great and just felt so natural despite its weight. He wanted to show off to Lady Honoko a little bit so he went to find her and caught sight of her going into her parents room. Thinking nothing of it Hisamune turned to leave only to here her scream.

Bursting into the room Hisamune layed eyes on Lady Honoko frozen in fear as an assassin stood over her parents dead body. Roaring with rage Hisamune charged the assassin and engaged him in a quick melee. The assassin was wounded by a cut in the face and fled leaving Hisamune in the room trying to comfort his friend. On that day the image of Lady Honoko frozen in fear burned itself into his brain and he made a oath in secret, Hisamune would never allow that to happen again, he would stay by her side until the day he died and he would act as both her blade and shield.

After that incident Lady Honoko became the head of the Tanako's. Keeping true to his promise he stayed by her side and has been watching over her ever since.

Name: Unmei Segato, but is often called 'Segato the Undying' for reasons explained in the back story.

Age: 26

Gender: Male

Appearance:
samurai_7_for_issue_1_by_sekaianimezation.png

Family and power: He used to fight for the Unmei clan, a relatively minor clan, until he was banished. The Unmei clan are a clan that focus more around nature and stealth, tending to opt for bows and martial art pressure point fighting than sword fighting. They believe that sword fighting isn't how nature fights, as nature is tricksy and somewhat dishonourable, and their family motto is 'Destiny guides the arrow'.

Clan Emblem:
84-sengoku-3-6_MED.gif

Allegiance: He doesn't stand for anyone at the moment, as he is essentially a medieval hobo. He has been banished from his clan due to the war, and as a result has decided to stay away from it if need be. Destiny, however, guides Segato's arrow...sometimes back into battle.

Race: Human.

Personality: Segato is a very humbled man, often preferring to sleep outside in pouring rain than to disturb anyone in a village that he might come across. As a wandering adventurer, he tends to be quite distant about his past, since it brings him great shame, and finds peace in nature. He isn't a pacifist as such, since he will gladly defend his friends or the innocent if they are being harmed, but he doesn't look for trouble and stays as best as he can out of the war. In short, Segato is a peaceful man, only resorting to his combat prowess if need be.

Bio: Segato started life as a soldier. From birth, he was trained in the two arts that the Unmei family are famed for; archery and martial arts (specifically how to fight with pressure points). Like most boys born around his time, he had a relatively stressful childhood trying to balance soldier training with his education - still, he doesn't regret it now. Just about two decades later, however, the war he had been training for had started and he did not know what to do. Upon entering the battlefield, despite his training, he panicked and ran. Returning to his clan, however, he was mortified, but not too surprised, to discover he was banished. He was given a katana, as was samurai tradition, and was told to leave and never return. Realizing that he had brought himself great dishonour, the only way he could redeem himself in the eyes of the gods was to commit seppuku. He sat in the middle of a stream and plunged the sword into his chest after reading his own final rites, and fell 'dead' into the stream. To his great surprise, however, he woke up an indeterminate amount of time later with nothing but a nasty scar on his chest. He had been healed by someone, but he had no idea who. He took it as a sign of destiny, and swore to never dishonour himself again.

Weapons & Personal Belongings: While he does own a katana, nicknamed the 'Undying Blade', it isn't his favourite weapon. His most famed weapon is his yumi, a Japanese bow, that he has great skill with. He often fashions arrows out of sticks so he rarely runs out of arrows, and due to his training in nature he has become very stealthy and agile with it. He can fire it and disappear in the same second, if legends are to be true. He also carries two kubutan, which are metal rods designed for a clenched fist with a point on one end, that reinforces his punches and, paired with his knowledge of pressure points, can be very deadly in close combat. Other than that, his skills in martial arts and nature allow him to make medicine, hunt with great effectiveness, and become naturally stealthy and agile.

Name
: Ikko Arashi (Storm)

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Appearance: 1409943935184.jpg

Family and power: Ikko Ikki Ronin/monk. The Ikko Ikki once a formidable force on the battlefield weilding their naginatas in a combat. Feared beyond the normal samurai, they once had the power to make families bow to their demand at a simple word. However, they fell because of their religion. A few clans united against them before stirring up the Shinto passion against them and destroying their clan from the face of the earth. Now only a few of them remain as wandering samurai, yet not samurai. Currently Arashi stands as a simple warrior yet not so simple warrior, descendant from once the most powerful of the warriors in the Ikko, one of the few humans that can wield the legendary forces of Ki. Some consider him the hope of the Ikko with his formidable use of Ki.

Clan Emblem: download (1).jpg

Allegiance: Emperor

Race: Human

Personality: Despite being a sort of monk, Arashi, as his name says, is very turbulent. Easily angered and sullen, he is not the perfect samurai. However, he can control his anger and churn it into a slow burn rage which has its advantages. However he avoids people and never proselytizes contrary to his firm personal beliefs. He can be kind to those he chooses and has a loose loyalty to those he pledges to. His beliefs never permit him to stab someone in the back, but if he so chooses to he will walk up to you and cut you down.

Bio: Ah His hatred is great. Great against the Shogunate, the Oda, and the family that strove to drive their family from power. Even when he was born, it was instilled in him. Their family was robbed, plundered of what belonged to them, the respect of nations as the most feared of the fighting forces and defenders. Once a peaceful group that thought to mediated and act as mercenaries for which ever group they thought right, driven from power like dogs. Hence he harbored that hatred in him, as his father taught him the power of Ki melded with the legendary naginata, their weapon of choice. Soon, he was found to be a genius, terrifying at the way he manipulated his Ki and brought it out of him with massive reserves. His cold rage served him well fueling the fire that built in him. At the age of 18, he mastered all Ki techniques, Hardening of weapons and body, Ki attacks, and internal Ki. However, Ki techniques can only be used one at a time even hardening between body and weapons. Hence he must chose whether to increase his speed, harden his body or weapons, and so on.

However, his father sent him away one day to the market. When he returned home, he found his community burned down, and everyone dead. He flew into a rage, but there was nothing he could do. Arashi never learned who attacked that day, but he pursues that knowledge fiercely. Unknown ninja attacked him a day later, and he slaughtered them all. Even as he made his way through the land, his path was dogged by attack of all sorts, all with no identification on them. Eventually he made his way to the Emperor and pledged his sword to the Emperor in exchange for a promise to give him on of the old holdings of the Ikko Ikki when the Shogunate fell. Even so, he still wonders if he could make a better deal with someone more suited to the title of Emperor.

Weapons & Personal Belongings: He carried a massive naginata named the Zanoni, other wise Slay Demon. Even without his Ki hardening, it is a formidable weapon capable of cutting nearly anything, with ki hardening, capable of cutting any surface. His other weapon is Tenzan, sky slayer, a massive bow capable of shooting incredible distances not to mention when hardened and shot with ki.

Name: Otomo Eiichi

Age: 27

Gender: Male

Family and power: Eiichi is the second son in the venerable Otomo family. Currently one of the most powerful clans, dedicated to the Imperial force, his clan is one to be reckoned with. Unmatched on the seas, they have been trading for a very long time with the European powers, inviting missionaries into their territories and courting foreign power. Bringing in most of the good from Europe has exalted the Otomo to a very rich clan. Hence they have extended their influence and also have modernized their armies completely and absolutely model a European style grand army.

Clan Emblem: otomo.jpg

Allegiance: Emperor

Race: Human

Personality: Eiichi is rather prideful and sees most people as backward and ancient holding onto the past when the future is the way. Despite his arrogance, he is rather witty and open to most people, even if he is making fun of them underhandely. However despite this, he is a good diplomat from his prior work as one. Eiichi is very utilitarian using whatever means necessary to achieve victory. Not to mention, he is extremely ambitious as his family is. Even now, he is much to happy to plot with his father and brothers to take the place of the emperor.

Bio: Born in Europe as his father was touring Europe, Eiichi was left in Europe with a tutor to learn the European ways, from the sword to the gun. He absorbed these quickly becoming quite famous for his skill with the rapier in the many duels he fought to hone his skills. He particularly had an interest in modern weapons especially cannons. He learned how to use these cannons to great effect. Eiichi became quite close with his European comrades even coming close to marrying a Marquis's daughter until his father decide it was enough and called him back to Japan when he was twenty. From there, he went from a easier life to a very hard life, as his father forced him to completely modernize and retrain the Otomo armies.

In the following seven years, Eiichi became the supreme commander of the Otomo armies and a significant diplomant schmoozing with all the Europeans that came to visit Japan ensuring that they thought that the Otomo were much more powerful than they really were earning massive investments and equipment. By the end of those seven years, the Otomo army was equipped with the latest European muskets, cannons, war horse, superior armor, and sundry items. Once this was complete, his father set him to march on the Chosokabe, and he discovered their army moving for the mainland. Eiichi brilliantly manuevered his forces onto land and set them on a march to the Castle Fukashi to lay ambush for the Chosokabe while his navy destroyed the their navy in a surprise attack. Now he lays in wait with his army near Castle Fukashi.

Weapons & Personal Belongings: Generally dressed in European style, he always carries a rapier with him. During battle, he is dressed in expensive impenetrable European armor and uses a Halberd or longsword in combat.

Masaki was quick to give him a position as a samurai for his bravery and skill once the war was over. Although partially because he was trying to bolster his forces as quickly as possible and promoting a few peasants to positions of power made for good recruitment PR. Family and power: The Tsuchimikado themselves are a small clan but they command much power and several larger minor clans and small minor clan in addition to the fighting men of their territory that compose their army. What makes the Tsuchimikado such a powerful clan is the fact that it's also a clan of Onmyouji, those of the Tsuchimikado bloodline are practioners of the esoteric art of Onmyodo meant originally to combat beings such as demons, yokai, and spirits. During the times of demon wars many turned to and pledged their banners to the Tsuchimikado Clan in return for their aid. The small minor clan under the Tsuchimikado is actually a branch family responsible for using their Onmyodo for forging weapons and armor for the Tsuchimikado clan and for those under them who they deem worthy. This lead to the Tsuchimikado amassing much support and power.

This is a specific supernatural art that was born of several other supernatural arts that is practiced by the Onmyouji. It is a blend of yin-yang, wu xing, 8 trigrams, alchemy, ofuda, divination and similar supernatural arts, making Onmyodo something like a super art. The core of Onmyodo is the understanding and manipulation of the two opposing forces yin and yang. It’s original purpose was to be used against evil apparitions such a demons, yokai, and other such entities. When one becomes an Onmyouji they gain a spiritually awareness, a sort of sixth sense that allows them to sense supernatural things.

Sometimes referred to as Ofuda, Onmyouji can inscribe esoteric symbols or runes upon paper to create paper charms. These can cast simple elemental spells such a fiery explosions and solid rock walls. They are used to set up barriers and wards to keep unwanted entities away. Th are good for exorcising possessed beings and for sealing entities away. They can also be used as a form of long range communication depending on how skilled the user is with their extra sensory perception skills. The use of paper charms is common for lower class Onmyouji as middle and higher class Onmyouji can cast spells without them.

Middle class Onmyouji can cast magic using the Wu Xing elemental manipulation The Five Wu Xing elements are Fire, Earth, Water, Wood, and Metal each have an element they are superior to and elements they work well with. These five elements can be manipulated in their normal forms or combined in various combinations to make new elements such as magma and acid.

High class onmyouji can use the 64 commands of the hexagrams formed by the 8 trigrams. These 64 commands can be order and used in various sequences to cast various spells. The complexity of these spells outclass the complexity of the Wu Xing elements which is why an Onmyouji able to use the 64 commands is consider high class and generally a master of the art.

Onmyouji are known for being able to summon spirits known as shikigami. Shikigami have various levels of power and abilities but also require an onmyouji above or equal to their level to manage them. If an onmyouji cannot manage their Shikigami and lose control over it, the Shikigami can end up attacking its summoner.
Clan Emblem: None

Allegiance: Shogunate

Race: Human

Personality: Kensei is a rather charismatic and lead from the front kind of individual with a burning soul and passionate fighting spirit. Underneath his warrior persona, Kensei is also a very spiritual and philosophical individual. He is also weary of demons and the like because it's in his very nature as an Onmyouji to be at odds with such creatures. He wishes to preserve the way of the samurai and was willing to turn on the Imperial Family the people who once granted his clan permission to practice Onmyodo to do it. Losing the way of the Samurai would only make the people weak and defenseless, two things he cannot allow as long as he lives.

Bio: Kensei was raised is the very spiritual household of the Tsuchimikado as the next heir to the clan. As a child he was kept within the Tsuchimikado Temple for his own personal safety from things like demons. He began his instruction in the art of Onmyodo from a young age, he was taught by many different instructors of various level and specialties but mainly by his father. His samurai training was conducted by a samurai that was gifted an Onmyodo empowered blade by the Tsuchimikado Clan Blacksmiths. His training on both fronts as a samurai and Onmyouji served to carve him into a the formidable warrior he is today. Upon succeeding his father as Head of the Tsuchimikado he received the Tsuchimikado Honor Musket as proof of his position. Despite this, as an Onmyouji he still has a ways to go before being able to use the 64 Commands and Wu Xing Elements.

He was allowed to become head of the clan before becoming a true master of Onmyodo because of the outbreak of the civil war. He chose to side with the Shogunate despite being an Onmyouji because it was the lineage of the Shogunate who like the lineage of the Tsuchimikado played a role in saving the world from the Great Calamity, he also found the emperor's sudden call to end the Way of the Samurai a call to end the people of Japan's culture itself. The Tsuchimikado wish to maintain the way of life for the people who have been under their protection since the olden days. And so he threw in with the Shogunate raising their mighty army once more.

But he was ousted by his clan following their defeat at Fukashi Castle. He was stripped of his name and sent away while his clan and their subservient clans returned to the Imperial Forces. They were welcomed with open arms and a bounty exists on Kensei's head now. He had still continued to fight alongside the shogunate as a mercenary under the Katagami clan. He did however keep the clan musket.

Nishijima Sayuri

"Nishijima do not miss."

Age:
27

Gender:
Female

Appearance:
A plain, raven-haired lady who stands at about 5’5”. She is slight, but her clothes hide well-toned arms and thighs from her archery and horseback riding respectively.

Family and power:
The Nishijima was a major clan, particularly known for their horseback archers and snipers, with their current leader as a prime example of their skill. Many a time have they been credited for successful defenses, with their archers wasting little, and devastating many. Their oft repeated oath of ‘Nishijima do not miss’ rings, and strikes, true.

The recent death of their previous leader, Nishijima Sasuke, father of Nishijima Sayuri, a victim of the curse of mortal men, has left his daughter in charge of what is left of the Nishijima clan. Upon his death, many of their members defected, cutting ties with the family, leaving only the most loyal of companions to remain with Sayuri. The sudden drop of supporters led the Nishijima to lose relevance to the world at large.

In a bid to preserve that, she put forwards a plan to marry a head of a major clan, offering her clan’s cavalry and long-ranged might to their forces as the dowry. As of now, she seeks to deliver her proposal to the head of Katagami.

Clan Emblem:
Kuyo_Tomoe_(inverted).svg.png A fairly simple emblem featuring nine tomoe emblems, with a large one in the center, and the other eight flanking it on all sides. Fitting, for an clan of archers.

Allegiance:
Shogunate

Race:
Human

Personality:
Strategist, archer, lady.

Sayuri is a capable tactician, able to command, see, and shift, or at least nudge, a battle towards her favour. Her calm, unaffected surveyance of the pieces at hand and the battlefield has led to many a successful victory claimed by the Nishijima clan, though she is wont to say that this was due to the fact that her father was beside her during these exploits. It is rare to see her distracted by much- even during inactivity, she plays through possible scenarios, both political and combat, in her mind, so as to prepare for future conflicts. If need be, Sayuri is able to ride into a battle with her soldiers, armed with her bow. She does not shy away from combat, and is more than willing to rally her own soldiers under her banner herself than to let a commander do it.

As a person, Sayuri is a modest and polite lady, the image of a perfect Japanese woman. Her steady level headedness allows her to always maintain this same said image without issue, always keeping her voice low, be polite, even where the content of her words were meant to sting. She carries herself with the air of a competent leader and woman, but as evidenced by her willingness to offer herself up as a gambling chip to ensure her clan’s relevance and survival, she is more than ready to bite down on her own pride and swallow it.

Bio:
Nishijima Sayuri is the eldest and only daughter to the patriarch of the Nishijima Clan. For years, the Nishijima served the Shogun as an offshoot cavalry military might, their prowess and reputation serving as an effective deterrent, with both the elder Nishijima and his daughter, whom he raised to be just as effective of a warrior as he was, if not much more frightening, proving their worth.

She was raised by her father alone, with her mother having died early. He never took another woman for himself, deciding that it was far too much effort to love another. Instead, he left it in the hands of his retainers to teach her the ways of a woman, whilst he bestowed to her the gifts of a bowman and a leader. It was terribly effective, and while no one could say that Sayuri was a beautiful woman, many have professed that she was an exemplary model of a lady, polite and softspoken, outside of the battlefield and the war room. When it came to leading, she did not change much, either, remaining polite, but offering opinions and issuing strategies in the earnest.

After an archery competition in which she participated at the age of 23, alongside other archers, she left a mark that would go on to be whispered by others for time to come, after she had split her own arrows in twain consecutively with each following one, both on stationary and horseback competitions, shaming even renown archers from the military. The Shogun himself bestowed upon her the title of Unparalleled Under Heaven, a lofty praise that she refuses to laud about lest needed.

Her father was felled during a poorly planned expedition, ironically by an arrow through his chest. The tale tells that he plucked out the arrow from his wound and returned it to its owner by way of his own bow, though by the time he returned to the Nishijima estate, he was in no condition to verify it. For five days, he was tended to by doctors, while his daughter fletched her arrows beside him and made preparations for his funeral. There was no hope of survival, even with the doctors telling to be hopeful. She knew wounds. She had studied them. She also knew faces, and the doctors’ were of untruths, trying to appease her.

His time came, and he left no words for her, except a single farewell. There was no need for words. The Nishijima prided themselves on being concise, like their arrows. The clan fell to a disarray, with a majority of its affiliated clans refusing to follow the leadership of a woman, much less a fledgeling commander like her. She was inexperienced, a virgin to the battlefield. The Nishijima were destined to die off, was the consensus. They left, leaving the Nishijima with only a handful of allies. Nonetheless, Sayuri attempted to keep the name going, participating in several skirmishes of her own under the banner of the Shogun. Her force of archers and cavalry soon found themselves on the lips of many a soldier for both their ability and their excellent command of the field.

It was not enough, however. The Nishijima clan was dying a slow death. The defectors had spoken truths. Sayuri knew this. And so, as a last resort, after consulting her closest aides, she decided to offer her services to a lord that she figured would come up on top of the mess, in return for being able to stand at his side, and keep the Nishijima name alive. That lord, by her calculations, was Katagami.

Weapons & Personal Belongings:
●Yumi: Sayuri’s weapon of choice, next to her horseriding. While a demure and softspoken woman, her skill with the bow has been officially recognised by the Emperor as unparalleled beneath heaven itself. She has been credited for catching an arrow in mid-flight, twirled it around, nocked it onto her own bow, and fired it back with pinpoint accuracy at its original owner’s neck, and is known to regularly split arrows on target boards by striking them with another. All this achieved while on a moving horse.

View attachment 312895 A fairly simple emblem featuring nine tomoe emblems, with a large one in the center, and the other eight flanking it on all sides.

Goes without saying at this point but both are accepted.

Name: Fusanosuke, Gaido

Alias: The Graven Mist

Age: 39 - June 28th

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Appearance: Gaido is a middle-aged man of average height, standing at an even five-foot-ten and weighing a bulky one-eighty-five. Throughout the years of his training, he has built himself up in the muscular sense, chiseled and toned wherever your eyes may wander. Pale and clean-shaven, his body is covered in battle scars that each tell a story of their own. Some of them, not even Gaido is aware of. His hair, rough to the touch, is as black as the crescent symbol representing his clan, itself, while his eyes match the ocean on the sunniest of days. Aside from his usual getup, the one you can see in his descriptive photo to the left, Gaido typically wanders around shirtless, allowing the top-half of his shozoku to hang, tied firmly around his waist by the sleeves. During missions and other things of the sort, he'll properly equip his uniform. In addition, Gaido wears steel hand-guards and shin-guards, as well as carries with him his own Katana named after his deceased daughter, Aika. He holds his head high and shoulders back, walking with firm yet silent steps. To strangers, Gaido appears stern and without concern for much of what they have to say; though, to those who may know him, he is a wise and generous man, despite his ruthless personality during battle. Overall, one could say his looks don't match the number, and that he is quite the sight for sore eyes for someone who has seen and experienced so much. Might you also note that he can almost always be seen smoking a hand-rolled cigarette.

3.jpg

Family and Power: The Fusanosuke's were once a large and powerful shinobi clan, respected by most feudal lords for their loyalty and willingness to enact upon any given request. There wasn't a job they couldn't or wouldn't do as long as the respect they desired was given.Though they weren't all bound as brothers and sisters by blood, it was heart that tied the knot, and the name itself. Once someone promised under an oath and drew blood upon the family's crest, they, too, were then a Fusanosuke shinobi warrior. Throughout the years during which the clan was established, each leader of his or her generation would take in and train rogue ninjas or outcasts under their ways, turning them into disciplined heroes, and teaching them to bend over backwards for anyone without expecting a reward in return. It was more like a self-satisfaction ordeal. However, as all good things come, they go, and that's exactly what happened to this clan. You could say an inside war due to disagreement on morals tore the clan apart, leaving only the last one standing out of all the chaos. This survivor lives under the name Fusanosuke Gaido, previous leader of said shinobi group, as well as the last to carry the family's blood rather than just the name. He now follows under the Fujimoto clan with sworn loyalty to their young de facto leader until death decides otherwise. Alteras Alteras

Allegiance: Fusanosuke Gaido, the last man to bear the name of his clan, and not just that, but the blood itself, serves under the Fujimoto clan, well known for its vast cavalry and armed forces. With that being so, he, therefore, is allied with the Emperor.

Personality: Humble at all times, Gaido is without an immediate concern for his own well-being, usually putting any man nearby before himself, with women and children before them. Despite this, when talking to Gaido, it may often seem as though he is being sarcastic in a sense, or as though he doesn't actually care about the topic at hand, while in reality he is giving you his all-paid attention. Eye-contact just isn't something he favors. He believes that the eyes reveal things about a person that are often better left unknown. He is a calm and down-to-earth man who takes pride in his clan's name, and believes in bending over backwards for anyone deserving enough without anticipating a reward in return. However, if to save one man or an entire country, Gaido will choose the latter, even if it means sacrificing a dear loved one. This doesn't mean he won't hate himself, of course. You won't often see the man smile or hear him laugh, as opposed to his distant past. It's almost like he is void of emotions. Just as much as he is heroic and understanding, Gaido is a ruthless killer as long as the cause is presumed good. He will do anything if it means furthering him from his dark past, as I'm sure most people suffer from within the given day and age. Gaido believes that, due to killing his daughter, he is stuck in a loop, a consistent hell, where he must repent by avoiding the sweet release of death at all costs. He is quick to act and never hesitates, always on guard and equipped with even the smallest form of weaponry. Now, while he may seem like it, I wouldn't call him a quiet man. Gaido's voice can reach the heavens if he so pleases. His vocals are deep and roll off his tongue like melted butter, never stuttering a word or forgetting what he was going to say. Gaido also doesn't drink; though, he has taken to smoking sage since he was but a young boy. It provides him a better control over his spiritual ability to manipulate and become one with the mists of the land, hence his alias.

Ability:
Upon birth, Gaido was gifted with the abilities of mist-weaving, a gift only those who bear the true Fusanosuke blood can ever obtain. He can bend the Earth's dew and waters, and even the smoke of sage (a personal discovery by the man, himself), into a thick, impenetrable fog during combat, blanketing the surrounding area and allowing him to always know the location of his enemies (if, of course, they are within range of the mist). He can also hear whatever sounds travel through the mist. Gaido is capable of tricking his opponents into thinking there are more than one of him using an illusion technique with the mist, especially on rainy days, or he can completely envelop himself and remain hidden, or immediately reappear in another nearby location. Though, when hidden, Gaido is not unable to be detected. It just depends on what means you're using in order to sense him, such as a keen nose or god-like hearing abilities, or maybe even an eagle's eye. Not only can the mist create visual clones in the sense of illusion, but it can cause one to slowly lose consciousness after long periods of time when imbued with the smoke of sage. He also has no control over whether or not the ability effects allies.

Background: Gaido was born an only child, and the first of his generation, meaning he was the eldest of his cousins. Growing up in a secluded village hidden by a thick mist, he trained under his father, who trained under his own father, and so on, in order to uphold the title of Head of the Fusanosuke clan. He was an enthusiastic child, always smiling and cheering everyone on, motivating them to get better at something no matter what it might have been. He enjoyed seeing his brothers and sisters excel in the Fusanosuke ways, whether they were blood or not. It was the name that mattered. At the age of ten, Gaido mastered his mist-weaving abilities, and was from there on assigned to missions usually left up to the more aged and experienced members of the clan. As expected of the soon to be Head, though. He was an incredible fighter, willing to risk his life for anyone and never turning down a request if for a good cause. His morals were pure, and remain so to this day. Granted, having taken a man's life for the first time at eleven doesn't seem like the most heroic thing in the world, but it was something that needed to be done. Gaido was appointed to the clan's first lieutenant during the middle of his seventeenth age, in which he began training new members under his own techniques and wisdom. Then, when he turned nineteen, his father passed away, and he was, therefore, made Head of the clan. For many years, Gaido was highly respected. He became the heart of the village, and every member looked up to him, especially his daughter, Aika. She was a beautiful, strong, and intelligent girl. Everything she did, she was the best at. Aika spread joy throughout the village where it was needed. She was kind and caring, and always looked for ways to better herself in training. The girl was ready to become the clan's Head, herself, as a means to follow in her father's footsteps. However, Aika was not born the first of her generation. No, her cousin Sakura was heir to the title, master of mist-weaving and a dual-wielding beast. She could spar evenly with the Head, himself, where Aika could not. This made the girl envious; though, she never showed it. Instead, as time passed, she set out to take the ranking for herself by scheming in the shadows and discreetly working to turn members within the clan against each other. On group missions, Aika would sabotage her fellow brothers and sisters. She would switch people's words around to hide her own intentions, directing the anger that should have been towards herself to others. She took many innocent lives, and eventually people became suspicious. When Aika became cornered, not knowing what to do, she accused her father, telling the village that the lives that were lost came from his orders. She also claimed that Sakura, the heir to the Head of the clan, had been murdered in cold blood by her father because he hated the idea of not just a child, but a woman, taking over the village. Within time, the Fusanosuke clan crumbled. Those who sided with Gaido fought against those who supported Aika and her lies. Then, eventually there was no one left. Gaido stood in the center of the village with his nameless sword through the skull of his own and only child.

Belongings:
Aika - Gaido's katana, which was used to kill off his only daughter, and many other members of the clan who rebelled against the set morals of said clan.

Shuriken - Small throwing blades that Gaido most often has on hand, but they do run out.

Small Woven Pouch - Gaido keeps his sage leaves tied up in this. Often, he can be found scouting the lands to replenish his supply of the ancient herb. The pouch is usually tucked under his sash, which is always tied tightly around his waist.

Sulfur Matches - Of course, Gaido needs these in order to light his sage cigarettes, and yes, they existed in the 1500s.

Name: Yamashita Takuya

Race: Human

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Appearance: As a ninja, Takuya's main color will always be black. He has black medium hair and blue eyes. His sharp eyes indicate that he's a danger person.

Clan and position: Head of Yamashita Ninja Clan, one of the powerful ninja clan to the east.

Personality: Cunning and cruel ever since he's just a kid, he made sure people's feared and careful when dealing with him. As a man he believes that everyone need to be evil and cruel to be something great. Many fear him for his willingness to execute his enemy in cold blood and in the most dishonored way.
To the Shirobara, Takuya served them when he finds their lord Osamu interesting. He was impressed by the man's ambition and charisma.

Bio: The Yamashita was a ninja tribe up north of Hitachi. They set up territory outside of the castles of lord Katagami but yet did not oppose the lord of the province. The current head of the clan, Takuya, became the clan leader in the most ruthless way as he murdered his brother-in-law for the title.
In north of Hitachi and Ota Castle, there were 3 big tribes that separated from the land. The Yamashita Ninja, Aisu Mercenary and the Taga Bandit. All of them were independent from each other and from the daimyo of the clan and instead they have to contributed monthly to the daimyo. It was until the daimyo of Hitachi acknowledge of their existence, he was not happy about bandit and the outlaws that appear in his land and hurt his citizen. He ordered the Shirobara to eradicate all of the tribes.
Lord Osamu of Shirobara, toward this situation, didn't want to waste his army fight 3 forces at once, thought of a negotiate plan. He approached the Yamashita Ninja first and met with it's leader Takuya, he compromised a plan that impressed the ninja master and persuaded him to join the Shirobara side. What the ninja had to do was to sprayed rumor across the two other tribes, that the Bandit wanted to sell out the Mercenary to the daimyo and then he sent the reversed news to the other side. The plot was successful as the Bandit and the Mercenary weakened themselves for months by fighting themselves. In the end, the job for the Shirobara was easy as sent a small number of army along with the ninja of Yamashita to raid the two tribes and ended their existence. The operation took only a week long.
After that, the Yamashita shinobi sworn service to the Shirobara clan. Takuya became the knife under Osamu's sleeve, took care of his "behind the curtain" affairs, spying and assassinating.

- Kusarigama: Takuya weapon of choice, a chain and sickle weapon.

Name: Tokugawa Armin

Age: 18
Gender: Male

Appearance: archer.jpg

Family and power: Recently appointed, or rather self-appointed head of the Tokugawa

Clan Emblem: images.png

Allegiance: Shogunate

Race: Part demon

Personality: Armin is quiet and reserved, very introverted. However, when he does deign to speak his word are those of wisdom and guidance. He isn't extremely intellegint or a necessarily good leader, but when he does seek to be a leader, he can be very good at it, leading by example. He doesn't attract people quickly but rather slowly over time, they grow to like his demeanor and personality. As a part demon, people naturally avoid him, yet he can pull them to himself with relative ease.

Armin never has thought great position, rather it was thrust on him because of his extreme sense of loyalty. This loyalty is a double edged weapon. His people trust him because he is loyal to them, but he beyond loyal to them, willing to die for them easily. Even so, he is a terror to those who dare to threaten his people.

Bio: Armin was born to the Daimyo of the Tokugawa through a torrid love affair with a half demon retainer group that supported the Tokugawa on the conditions of being allowed to maintain a mountain city. However his existence was hidden, and he rarely saw his father except for when he came to have extended 'inspections' of their mountain city. His mother also spent little time with him as she often went down to provide 'logistical support'. He was well cared for by the clan of half demons though as they called him their 'Little Daimyo' and trained him as best they could. Everyone loved him; he loved them back equally.

He learned as best as anyone could the meagre arts the half demons retained from their demon ancestors, control of fire, be it somewhat weak. His red eyes and black hair grew alight whenever he called on his fire. However, their fire was infused into weapons, so he carried this out with his other favorite talent hobby, archer. No one outside his clan save a few know his talent with the bow. Some of the warriors who have traveled on the battlefield for many years, seeing all the new talent, call him the fastest bow in all of Japan. His talent is uncanny, with him being able to release 3 arrows in a second by the technique of holding three arrows in between the fingers. Not only that, he can infuse fire into each of these arrows as he launches them with perfect accuracy. They say that he has never had to catch an arrow because one he has set his sights on anyone, you will never able to complete your draw before he fells you. His demon enhanced muscle aren't particularly that much greater than a human's but enable him to do his feats. Not only that he uses a massive nodaci for close quarters combat.

He grew up into a fine warriors, at least was growing up to be a fine warrior when disaster struck. When he was sixteen, they received an urgent message on the dying body of Armin's mother. A revolution had taken place, and the Daimyo and his son all had been killed. His righteous fury arose him, and he called upon his friends to rise with him. A 150 half demons led by Armin, slipped down and into the capital in the cover of night viciously slaughtering all the rebels. The people of the Tokugawa hailed him their savior, however with his lack of real skills to be a Daimyo, a council formed and appointed him Daimyo, mainly as a symbol and a general introducing a balance of power. Currently, Armin is happy to let them deal with the day to day affairs as he marshals the armies to go to the Shogun's aid and prove his name.

Appearance:phpju2D4Z.png

Family and power: Oniware is a clan full of those who had nowhere else to go. Those who the world had neglected they are a mercenary group who will just about anything for the right amount of money. They all hold a deep hate for the emperor the very idea of the gods fill them with rage. Since most members of the clan are those who have been rejected by the world many act like the demons of old stories. Blood thirsty monsters who only know violence and terror, they find it helps with the job. To add to this theme they all use a very strange form of fighting.

Clan EmblemphpBHE5UQ.jpg

Allegiance: Shogunate

Race: Human

Personality: Tachibana like all other Oniware lives for battle and was an outcast with no where to turn. Aside from that Tachibana is a playful gal who can’t help but get under people’s skins. She seems to find great joy in teasing her fellow Oniware members. Her favorite targets being Shugachi and Mizuaki often calling herself and them the Demon Generals of Oniware. Everyone else in the clan along with her other so called Demon Generals think the name is dumb. She can’t help but find enjoyment in picking off enemies one by one from afar with her bow. Like one by one smashing a bunch of ants with her foot.

Bio: In a situation similar to Mizuaki her parents couldn't afford to feed her. Unlike Mizuaki though she was sold off already knowing how to fend for herself. Coming from a hunter clan she was a great shot with a bow. The bandits used her as a way of taking out those who were running away again the Oniware were tasked with taking these bandits out. Unlike Mizuaki once again when they had found the bandits base all the bandits were already dead. Tachibana stood around their bodies with a smile on her face. It was then Tachibana asked to be a member of the Oniware meeting Shugachi and Mizuaki who she quickly gained a love/hate relationship with.

Weapons & Personal Belongings: Gaze-a long bow Tachibana carries with her at all times.
Katana-Tachibana also carries a simple katana for when she has to deal with someone who has gotten close.
