Succubi and Incubi - Descendants of Lillith - Adam's first wife. They are ruling demons of the Abyssal Plains as well as the middle class citizens. Most nobles are of this race except for very rare exceptions of a few Brute Demons taking over minor houses which was frowned upon in society. Succubi and Incubi are sex demons which feed on sexual energy. They are masters of seduction and manipulation, which makes them out to be persuasive and cunning leaders. Succubi and Incubi can master a number of skills and each have a special ability unique to them aside from their basic magic of mind manipulation. (As of right now, this is the only playable race, I might reconsider this later.)
Brute Demon - The warriors of the Abyssal Plains. They are strong and fierce warriors who are masters of weaponry, but lack the ability to cast magic. You can find a Brute Demon anywhere but they mainly hail from Sanguis Terram - House Casila's territory.

House Imperium - They are the ruling family of the Abyssal Plains and it has been that way for many centuries. Their ancestors were believed to be the perfect balance between intelligence and strength. But like any demon... they do have their flaws and weaknesses. Members of House Imperium usually have pitch black horns, unless they are married into the family. House Imperium owns the heart or the middle of the Abyssal Plains known as Centrum, which has beautiful forests, rivers, and a lake that's rumored to have enchanted properties.
House Casila - Members of House Casila are strong and have been known to be very powerful warlords. They aren't very skilled in magic, but they are amazing tacticians. Members of House Casila have blood red colored horns unless they were married into the family. House Casila owns a province called Sanguis Terram, which.. while it has many coal mines and farms, isn't a very beautiful place and looks like a land with only red dirt and sand. Sanguise Terram also borders the entrance to the Abyssal Plains, which has been a battlefield against devil and demon for the past few years.
House Litera - Among the rest of the noble houses, House Litera is known to be the most potent in magic and the most intelligent. Members of House Litera are geniuses who enjoy studying an array of subjects. Though physical strength isn't their strong suit and tend to be smaller built. Members of House Litera have void blue horns unless they were married into the family. Terra Lux, House Litera's land has forests and mountains with areas that are enchanted and sacred to magic users. Terra Lux also has an amazing library built into a mountainside. It's known as the biggest library in all of the Abyssal Plains.
House Amos - Members of House Amos are cunning businessmen and women as well as hedonists. They are lovers of good food, wine, comfort, and most of all - passion and sex. They tend to be dreamers who are very romantic. They make the best succubi and incubi among the other houses since they seem to enjoy the pleasures and passions of the flesh the most. House Amos owns Ignis Terram, which is known for it's gem and gold mines. Ignis Terram is known as the land of luxury. House Amos easily is the most wealthy noble house aside from House Imperium.

Horn color of a succubus or incubus shows your ranking or if you have any noble blood. Horn color is purely genetic.

Intro
When the king or queen marries their mate, their mate must go through what's called the Blackening Ritual. The Blackening Ritual changes the color of a person's horns and tail to black. Black horns and tails represent royalty and high status, and they must absolutely do this if they marry into the royal family. Depending on who the king or queen is, they may offer to have family members of their mate also go through the Blackening Ritual. Unlike the one who's getting married, the family members have a choice in the matter. Some family members decide to go through with the ritual because they want the higher status, but others prefer not to if they wish to remain loyal to their house. The heir or the patriarch/matriarch of the family may not want to go through with the ritual for example.
The Process

Only the alchemists and a few members of House Imperium know what's in the mixture. Once the ceremony is done, there is a huge party to celebrate the new family members with delicious food, drink, dancing and shenanigans!

House Greycloak
This house has their manor in Centrum and they are called House Greycloak due to the grey cloaks they wear and the fact that every member, including the servants and knights they have all have grey horns. They are commoners who made their own fortune and rose up in rank. House Greycloak are very modest and tend to wear very simple clothing. No one really knows what their intentions are, but rumor has it that they're trying to form a rebellion against the other noble houses with colored horns to give justice to the small commonfolk who were treated poorly by their leaders. However, the lord of House Greycoak - Liam Greycloak denies these allegations and says that he supports the royal family. Liam's daughter Rosalyn is also heavy with child, about eight months along.

House Penderghast is a new house that recently rose into power. The lord of the house - Jasper Penderghast is a goblin who made his own fortune working his way up from being a jewel miner, to eventually owning his own network of gem and gold mines. House Penderghast is located in Ignus Terram. No one's really sure what his intentions are, but rumor has it that he is hoping to become the richest man in Ignus Terram and to liberate his goblin brothers to fight against House Amos. Lord Penderghast likes to show off his wealth by wearing fancy and guady clothing with tons of bling.

House Brutalis is a family of brute demons from Sanguis Terram. They are strong warriors who earned their rank and fortune through heroic deeds on the battle field. They are often seen as allies to House Casila and trade with them often. Rumor has it though that House Brutalis is responsible in the renegades and gangs of brute demons uprising against House Casila. Rumor also has it that they're responsible for the death of Lord Ragni, Mikealus's father.

The Fey Kingdom is a kingdom buried underground in the depths of the mountains of Lux Terram. They are ruled by fey, which are tiny winged creatures who are potent and skilled at magic. Rumor has it that the Fey Kingdom know spells that Incubi and Succubi do not, such as spells for raising the dead, getting someone to fall in love with you, and even giving eternal life. The Fey Kingdom rarely contact anyone outside of their territory and tend to be independent and want to be left alone.

They lived near the top of the mountain ranges in Lux Terra where it would often get cold and snow but haven't been seen in nearly five hundred years. Aside from their impressive sizes, members of the Frostfire Clan were skilled at enchanting and runeweaving. They were also known for their mystical and wise shamans who would often help House Litera with predictions and fortunes. But one day they mysteriously disappeared from existence. Now the giants are of legend and are considered cryptids in the Abyssal Plains.

Q. What is the basic history of the Abyssal Plains?
A. I haven't thought much into it, but basically a long time ago when the world was made, Lillith disliked how things were being run and she didn't love Adam, her husband. Lillith left him and earth to create her own world - the Abyssal Plains. She created the world and it's inhabitants. At first, the demons lived as cavemen, sort of like the humans on earth, but Lillith gave them knowledge and the demons started growing their own civilizations. From there, four cities grew, Imperius, Casila, Litera, and Amosa. The four civilizations got along for awhile and created an alliance. They agreed that there needed to be a leader of this Alliance, and the ruling families all wanted to be leader, so they fought it out in the First Demon War. Imperius came out on top, which made House Imperium the leading family and House Casila, Litera, and Amos as the three families right behind it in power. Fast forward several hundred years later, they have the Second Demon War - the Goblins had a civilization of their own in Lux Ignis and wanted House Amos and it's civilization out of their territory. The noble houses and the royal family banded together and the goblins lost... horribly. So much so that they became slaves to the Succubi, Incubi and Brute Demons. Fast forward to the present day, we now have what appears to be the Third Demon War, but this time it's with the devils who want to come in from Hell and invade the territory.
Q. Can other races aside from Succubi and Incubi gain power?
A. Yes, there are minor noble houses in Sanguis Terram that are run by Brute Demon families. They are not as respected as a typical succubus/incubus family but House Casila tolerates and accepts them, often making trade deals with them. Faes are also very powerful and skilled in magic, but they have their own civilization underground, away from everyone else.
Q. Are there other ways Succubi and Incubi can get energy aside from sexually?
A. Yes, they can eat food and sleep.
Q. Do the noble houses operate differently or are they fairly similar to eachother?
A. They are fairly similar to each other with minor differences. House Litera values magic and knowledge over anything else, so when deciding who to appoint for high ranking position, they tend to pick those who are the most skilled in magic or are the most intelligent. House Casila values skilled fighters and strength, which has made them a little bit sexist, with a belief system incubi are stronger physically than succubi. Because of this, there is rarely a matriarch leading House Casila. House Amos doesn't value neither intelligence or strength, but wealth. So they appoint powerful positions to the most wealthy. It's stuff like that.
Q. Can you make a map of the Abyssal Plains?
A. I want to, but I don't know how to do it. If someone could teach me, I would love that. I can describe where everything is though. I should also note that each territory is a land mass on it's own. It's like.. four giant land masses floating in a strange nether space. The only way I can explain it is like... Outlands from World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade. House Casila's castle and Sanguis Terram are on the southern end of the Abyssal Plains, along with the gate, which is the exit and entrance to the realm. If I were to describe what Sanguis Terram looked like, it would be a combination of Arizona and Hellfire Peninsula from WoW. Centrum is obviously in the center. Centrum is connected to the other three landmasses by ancient bridges. If you fall off those bridges, you are fucked and lost forever to space and time. Lux Terram is on the north east end of the Abyssal Plains. If I were to describe it... the land is a lot like the Rocky Mountains, lots of beautiful forests and mountains. And finally on the north west end is Ignis Terram. I haven't really thought much into what Ignis Terram looks like, I just know that a lot of luxurious things come from there.
Q. What is the life expectancy of Succubi and Incubi?
A. 200 years. They are fully grown at 18 years. There are some rumors that some powerful magic users have lived up to 600 years, but that has yet to be confirmed.
Q. Is there incest in the Abyssal Plains?
A. Since succubi and incubi need sexual energy to stay alive, yes incest is not uncommon. They can get sexual energy just by getting touched, but some take it much farther than just a hug or a kiss. Some regular citizens even get married to their sibling or cousin but in nobility marriage between family members rarely happens since a lot want to spread their genes and influence to gain more power.
Q. Do demons have sexuality?
A. No they do not. As long as they are getting what they want and need from a mate, they don't usually have a preference in gender.
