In 3175, Earth had become too polluted and damaged for the human race to safely live there any more. Over the next few years, the remaining survivors were sent to colonies in the Toriga System. They explored the nearby worlds and discovered four habitable planets with a variety of strange humanoids already living on them. Now, human technology is being slowly integrated into the lives of these races to improve their lives.

Although there are rumours circulating that the humans have an agenda of their own.

Spaceship transport is very expensive, only the rich can travel via spaceship. Portals are a much easier option.

Transport is via portals is controlled by, and almost exclusively owned by the Adventurer's

The Adventurer's Guild

J1uP52Y.png

Yin and Bolin Taesen'anea founded the Adventurer's Guild 12 years ago, when they were 20. Originally the guild was just a bar, and their jobs only came in slowly. Over the years, their renown had grown and the Adventurer's Guild had grown in size, expanding to bars across the System. The main Headquarters of course is on Cetis in the Outcast city, Vilsyrka.

They work with the local Governments and both train and manage members and potential members in and out of combat, in both large and small tasks. When help is required on a Planet or Colony, the Adventurer's Guild is called upon. They also travel to Earth once in a while with groups to search the ruined landscape for trinkets and treasures to sell or trade.

The current year is 4497. 1,322 years since Earth was abandoned.

Technology Availability

Humans: They have the highest amount of technology available to them. Aside from the technology on the colonies, they have plasma based weapons. From rifles to swords, they are used in the military and by adventurers, criminals and the law.

Ialdor: Traditionally, the Ialdor like classy weaponry like swords and pistols. Some also use crossbows as well as bows and daggers.

Cavr: The Cavr tend to avoid conflict, taking their roles on the backlines and healing and shielding the injured. They can use staves to help channel their powers, these have to be hand carved for the best connection with the wielder.

Eurium: The elves of the snowy lands use crafted wands equipped with gems to help channel their Snowmagic. They also use bows and long, thin, elegantly curved swords.

Taur: The Taur are adept with longbows, quarterstaffs and spears. They also rely on their brute strength to overpower their enemy.

Ny'iss: Aside from using their terraforming powers, the Ny'iss are diverse warrior-hunters who are good with spears, axes, bows, crossbows, fist weapons and the smaller Ny'iss like the rabbit and mice, use sickles.

Planets, denizens and flora/fauna of note.

  • One of the most inhospitable places in the the universe, Cetis is by far the driest and most desert-ridden planet in the Toriga System. The only species willing to inhabit such a dry, desolate world are the noble Ialdor; a feline race whose homeworld wasted away long ago. (Pronouced: Ee-al-door.)

Despite the planets harsh weather and infertile soil, the Ialdor created a city around the largest body of water on Cetis. the Oasis Sea. While there are many outlying clusters of banished and 'unworthy' people who live in the harsh climate, there were none that came remotely close to the mighty city of Asildra. (A-sill-dra)

The city itself is build into the side of the mountain that lays on the western side of the Oasis Sea. Hundreds of prideful purebred Ialdor live there. They are a judgemental people and are quick to cast out the unworthy or any half-breeds, leaving them to fend for their lives on the burning sands. A lot perish. The looks of Ialdor can range from lynxes (mostly found in males) to sand cats. Their children are called cubs, and are born furred and blue-eyed like domestic cats. Ialdor can reach around 150 years old. Their fur normally comes in whites, creams, browns and beige. Although grey and ginger are not uncommon, they are seem as 'low class' colours, whereas white is seen as 'high class'.

Those who have been cast out of the city, the half-breeds, those who are deemed unworthy; or those who have broken laws travel the desert-ridden planet in search of smaller bodies of water. The smallest, temporary water sources are drained and filtered for drinking. The more permanent ones are home to small communities of outcasts, often dug into the earth for the cooler climate away from the sun.

The Ialdorian people are well-known for known for their amazing golden horses that are fleet of foot and fiery of temper. They are not cheap to purchase.

  • One of the smaller planets in the Toriga system, this planet consists of mostly marshlands and a wide violet-coloured sea. The sky here reflects the colour of the sea and gives the world a violet-tinge during the day time.

Villages here are built on thick legs above the water. A few hunters will kill the large, docile turtles here, selling the meat and the shell. The capital is Feland, a huge city built on thick stilts above the marshy waters and is accessed by raised wooden walkways which snake across the planet to connect farms and villages.

The Cavr (Ka-vir) are hardworking and strong from traversing the marshes day in and day out. They're an amphibious race, resembling humanoids that often have plant-like features. The Cetae (Seh-tay) leads these people and is said to communicate with the giant leviathans that float through the skies, and has flowers that bloom in her vine-like hair. Their skin is generally shades of browns or greens and they tend to wear darker clothes, dyed from Darkivy berries. Their young are hatched from eggs like frogs, and at first look like tadpoles (and are called tadpoles). As they grow, they gain more Cavr features. They can live to be 90.

  • A lush planet that has thick forests, rolling hills, and packs of large two-tailed black wolves roam the land at night. Hunters not only protect travellers and villagers from them, but they sell the pelts and meats for a tidy profit. Most villages here are protected by high walls build around the capital and smaller outposts. The capital is The Silver Fort, the largest village with Silverstone walls, built from the Silverstone from the snowy planet Kelepsie.

The Ny'iss are the bipedal animal-human hybrids that live on this planet. Some are rumoured to have been outcasts from other planets, long since forgotten. Their looks can vary from the purebred to those who look almost human save for several features. They're also known for not wearing shoes. Their young are called by whatever type of animal hybrid they are. They can live for 120 years.

(Feline Ny'iss don't exist. Feline humanoids are always Ialdor.)

  • This harsh icy planet never sees a day without snow. Mountain goats roam here freely and they are hunted for their hide and wool, as well as their horns and meat. The capital is The Icy Reach located in the face of the largest mountain on the planet. There is a large sea, but it remains permanently frozen.

Stocky and muscular, the Eurium are rugged and tough to match their habitat. Their hair comes in any shade, although their eyes are generally shades of violet. They wear heavy furs and thick hides to shield themselves from the snows. They have long, upright ears and skin in shades of blue or white/black. Deep in the massive snowy forests live clans of Taur who live off the land and work with the Eurium in the mines and farms. They are mostly equine and canine Taur, some are more adventurous and will travel the system; although it’s a bit awkward as most places don’t cater for Taur. Young Taur, like Ny'iss are referred to whatever hybrid they are. The Eurium have the longest life spans of the mortal races and can live for up for two thousand years.

  • The largest spacebourne colony in the Toriga system, Colony E-5009 boasts artificially generated plant-life, as well as an artificial lake in the centre of the Colony. It homes the richer members of the human population after their home planet, Earth, was left a dying planet due to their misuse. They are constantly on the hunt for a new, habitable planet to claim (or overthrow). Countries no longer exist, and the colony has a zero-tolerance policy for violence.

There are other, smaller colonies throughout the system; but none as impressive as E-5009.

It was the human race who introduced the other planets in the system to their technologies, and Inter-System-Communications (ISC) are now in place that allow contact from planet to planet, and to the human space colonies. Human technology is slowly being implemented with care into each planet to assist the denizens in having ‘better’ living conditions. Currently, the remaining human population is estimated at around 500 thousand. Their life span is longer than it used to be, and they can now reach 140 years of age.

Their food is cloned and sourced from F-3500, the farming colony. Although trading also happens between the humans and planets for real food, which is highly sought after. Water is extracted from the air and purified for consumption.

There are rumours that the humans have a hidden agenda.

  • Once home to the highly populous human-race, this planet degenerated over time due to heavy pollution, war and over use of the planet's natural resources. The ocean is almost completely dried up; and it rarely rains here any more. Any rain is acidic and needs to be avoided. The ground here is dry and cracked, and the air is thick with smog and requires one to wear an oxygen supply should you wish to explore the dying planet. The animal life here is scarce, and mostly consists of large cockroaches and other hardy creatures.

In 3175, it was decided that earth was no longer habitable by humans and Colony E-5009, and the lesser colonies were revealed, the projects having been in the works for many years secretly. Those with the most wealth were the first to leave, being homed in modern apartment-style buildings inside E-5009. The middle and lower classes were shipped to the lesser colonies (E-2009 and E-1009).

A few brave souls visit earth between acidic rain storms and search the ruins and wreckage for anything salvageable. It’s a high risk job which claims many lives, but can be quite lucrative.

Gods and Deities

  • Before the Ialdor came to Cetis, they lived on a now dead and long-forgotten planet in a nearby system. The planet found itself under near constant assault from asteroids, to the point where the Ialdorian deity tore open a wormhole to Cetis for her people to travel through and survive.

Once on this new dry, hot, desolate planet, the Ialdor searched for signs of their deity but never found any. They settled on the planet and no longer worship, as they have no-one -to- worship.

  • One of the many planets in the Toriga system is not actually a planet, but rather a moon of the uninhabited gas giant Liluri. Thousands of years ago Liluri had a number of red moons in its orbit, each with its own primitive life form. Several of these moons - them being Valentia I through V - were very close to each other; almost orbiting on another themselves really.

After much time each planet slowly came into its own, persevering through their “Planets” harsh environments. They developed weapons and technology of their own and, one by one, discovered that their neighbors also had sentient creatures of their own. Valentia III and V were the first to make contact with one another, but their agreed upon alliance only lasted several months... Before Valentia IV intervened and conquered Valentia III.

Liluri's 5th moon followed quickly, and Valentia I and II soon after. All five of these moons seemed evenly matched at first glance. That is, until you look a bit deeper into the militant core of Valentia IV. Since the gaseous giant could not sustain any major species of its own, the resident god took it upon herself to spread her seed among her moons; chief among them being the five sisters planets that orbit so close to one another. After an eternity of waiting she was finally able to see what her had given birth to on her many moons, and she particularly liked the violent, destructive race of Valentia IV. With her aid, as their commanding general, Valentia IVs power was unstoppable.

All of the red moons are a harsh, brutal place to live. Covered in active volcanoes, the air is ash-filled and the ground is completely volcanic and always warm. The sound of erupting volcanoes are often heard across the planets on a daily basis.

Decades later, Valentia IV is still feared; but by planets much further away then its now* ruined sister moons. Valentia herself is pictured below.

“Yin? Yiiin? HEY! YIN!”

The halfbreed's eyes snapped open and he sat bolt upright, clutching the bed sheets as his legs flailed and almost spilled his covers to the floor. “What is it? What's wrong?!”

The answer to his question came in the form of a chortle, which mutated into a chuckle and ended with a loud guffaw

from his twin brother who was rocking back on his heels. “You... your face!” He slapped his thigh and wiped some tears of mirth from his eyes. “Amazing!”

Yin's eyes snapped to narrow slits. “Bolin! You... You!” He snatched up the pillow from behind him before hurling it at his sibling. “Stop doing that!”

The pillow sailed across the small room and bounced off the other halfbreed's upper arm, then fell to the floor with a soft thwup. Bolin was still grinning like an utter loon as Yin let himself flop backwards onto the bed with a laughing sigh. He tugged his sheet up over himself as his twin's laughter died down.

"No, no, no, no. You have to get out of bed." Bolin chided, padding across the room to his hidden sibling. "We have posters to post across the System. C'mon. They won't post themselves."

"Oh." Yin lowered the blanket so it covered his own. "That's today?"

"That's today." Bolin nodded. "So, once I know you're awake, I'll take my half and do Dorox and Kelepsie and the rest of the places out here. You take the rest."

With that, the darker-furred Ialdor grinned once more, then turned and left his brother to get himself out of bed, which he did. Yin rolled himself out of bed and picked his clothes up from where he'd left them the night before. Apparently, the lovely lady he had come home with last night had left sometime early this morning. What a shame, she would have been a lovely sight to look up to. At least, he thinks she would have been. What was her name again?

Never mind, he might see her again, he might not. Once he was dressed, Yin left his bedroom, deciding to get breakfast elsewhere. He grabbed the rucksack of posters from the counter where Bolin had left them and he headed out through the passageways that led to the Bleached Bones Bar. This bar was the headquarters to the Adventurer's Guild and was no stranger to mercenaries, guild members, wanderers, travellers and all manner of folk. Except of course, the Ialdor who stayed within their precious city walls. Walking around the bar, he nodded to the ginger Ialdor who tended the Bleached Bones for them when they went out.

He made his way through the arch on the right side of the main bar room that led to the portals. His first stop would be the human Colonies, the main Colony didn't take kindly to his posters, so he'd avoid that and go to E-2009, the middle colony first. Stepping through the portal, the world swirled before him and in almost an instant he was at the portal room of E-2009. People of all species wandered too and fro, some visiting, some here to work, and some here for who knew what? Leaving the portal room, Yin made his way along the corridor, stopping every now and then to post up the posters in his rucksack.

The Adventurer's Guild is seeking interested and skilled people for our upcoming expedition to Earth. Adventure, danger and possible riches await you. Must be able to work in a group, troublemakers will be jettisoned or left on Earth. Supply your own weapons and personal safety equipment. Food, tents and water will be supplied.

Interested parties should come to the Bleached Bones Bar on Cetis and sign their name.

Fee is a tradeable item of worth.

Ask for Yin or Bolin.

Rahani was walking down the hall of the colony when he saw someone posting posters. He had just come back from a weapons deal and had nothing to do since he wasn't required back at the base for another 2 months and had nothing better to do. He went to read the Poster and it said

Interested parties should come to the Bleached Bones Bar on Cetis and sign their name.

Fee is a tradeable item of worth.

This looks interesting, time for me to head for the Bleached bones bar. Rahani walked to the teleporters and ended up on Ceit. He walked for a little bit and ended up at the Bleached bones bar. Hi, I just came because of this neat little flier that someone that looked like you hung up these posters. He pulled up the poster and sat at the bar.

The Ialdor behind the bar shook his head. "Wasn't me posting those up. That's the two guys that run this place, the Taesen'anea brothers, Yin and Bolin. They're out right now, but they should be back shortly." The man smiled. "But, if you're interested I have the information and the sign up sheet here."

Alcina was at the heart of Feland, running. From who? Let's just say, she's a wanted girl right now, being hunted by men— and not in a good way. Her long white hair flowing behind her, she tried tying it up, much to her own chagrin.

"There she is!" Yelled one of the men. "Hurry up! Catch the tramp!" Cried out another. There was around five of them at the least, running amok in the already busy streets of Feland. "You'll never get away from us!" Yelled the stout, porky fellow in the group, who, to Alcina's surprise, managed to keep up.

She turned around and threw over a barrel filled with fruit, which helped her as a obstacle for the people and men chasing her in the busy streets. The men, obviously, were falling over the fruit, tripping and slipping. She tried not to laugh, as the men tried standing up, yet failed and fell again. At last she couldn't hold it in and fell on the floor, laughing till her stomach hurt.

Eventually, she managed to stop laughing. "Ahh, that was a hearty laugh. I haven't laughed like that in a while." She said to herself and stood up, dusting off her garments. "Buh-bye" she said, as she waved to the men and started running again. Turning a sharp corner, she was stopped short when she hit something— or someone, and fell to her bum, a piece of paper in her face. "Oow!" She cried out.

Bolin was humming to himself, his tail swishing to the beat of the tune that had been stuck in his head since he woke up this morning. The faint sounds of the marshlife was only nice sounding for a short time, before it got irritating. The humming helped drown that out. This was his last poster on Dorox before he would move on, and just as he pressed the red paper to the wall to stick it... Something slammed into him, knocking him sideways. The half Eurium picked himself, and his rucksack up from the ground and turned his gaze to the... she looked Eurium, but not... The woman on the ground.

"Are you okay?" He canted his head slightly, reading down to offer her a hand. "You reaaaaaaally should watch where you're running too. You might run into people." A grin curled his lips.

"Yes, I'm fine." Alcina looked up, yet she remember the paper stuck to her face. She carefully peeled it off, not wanting to leave a scar on her beautiful face. She looked at what seemed to be a poster for an Adventurer's Guild. She was cut off reading the paper when a voice called out to her again.

"You reaaaaaally should watch where you're running too. You might run into people." The voice said. She finally looked up and saw an Eurium..? He didn't look like one. Although what caught her attention the most was that grin on his lips, apparently happy with his comment.

"Well aren't you a smart ass?" She said to the male. She accepted his hand managed to pull herself up, and for the second time today, brushed off the dust on her clothes, poster still in hand. She looked at the poster and looked back to the man infront of him. "You a part o'this guild?" She asked him.

Last edited by a moderator:
"I try." He replied, his grin widening slightly for a moment. "I am a part of it, sure. I'm the Bolin mentioned at the bottom, and one of the Founders of the biggest and best Guild in the System." He was so modest. "So, out for a jog?"

"Aren't you just a ball of modesty." She said, arching her brow. "And no. I'm actually walking. Do I look like I'm taking a jog?" She asked him, slightly annoyed. She has to admit he was cute, just slightly arrogant. Ok scratch that. He was just plain arrogant. "Well," she said looking at the poster, "You accepting hybrids into the guild? Sounds interesting."

Bolin chuckled. "We accept anyone and everyone as long as they don't cause troubles. We're recruiting for a week long expedition to Earth, that human planet that they ruined." He poked his chest with his thumb. "My brother and I are hybrid, if we kept them out, we'd be the biggest hypocrites in the System. We want people that won't be dead weight, Earth isn't the safest of places."

"So you're a hybrid too huh?" She said, eyeing him up and down. "I can tell you're part Eurium." She stated. "And you have a brother? I hope he's just as modest as you are then." She told him, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

She turned back to the corner and saw that the five men that were running after her had gotten up. "Shit." She muttered under her breath. She grabbed Bolin's arm and dragged him along, why? She doesn't even know herself. "C'mon! You could be of some use while we're still here!" She yelled at him, bringing him inside a dark alleyway. "Now be quiet for a minute."

Before he had a chance to reply, he was being tugged along behind the woman. Apparently she was being chased. He was pulled into a dark alleyway and made sure to block their view of her should they look down here. His ears swiveled backwards, listening for any sound of conversation between the people chasing her.

Waiting for a few minutes, they heard no sign of the men. Alcina heaved a sigh of relief, only to notice the tight space they were in. She also noticed how close their bodies were and that both her arms were unknowingly wrapped around Bolin's muscular torso.

"I-isn't this position.. A-a little.." She trailed off, obviously flustered by the situation, much to Bolin's obvious enjoyment. "I-it's a little tight in here.." She muttered, face flushed.

Last edited by a moderator:
"I've been in tighter." Bolin replied with a smirk before shuffling backwards and out of the alleyway. "So... who were those guys and what did you do to invoke their rage? Or was it just one of those 'we don't like you because you're different', groups?"

Heaving another sigh, she got out of the alley aswell, following Bolin out. "Let's just say.. I have something they want." She says with a sly grin, holding up a pouch, jiggling the pouch which was filled with coins. "And before you say anything, this is mine. They stole it from me. I just took it back." She added.

She hated how others judged her. Just because she was a mercenary, didn't mean she was a bad person herself. "So.. The guild?" She asked Bolin.

Bolin raised his hands in mock defense. "I wasn't going to accuse you of anything. I know what some people can be like, I've had groups try and mug me in the past, a few even succeeded when I was younger. And yes, the guild. Have you heard of the Bleached Bones Bar on Cetis? You need to go there and sign up, there's a direct portal from every Portroom. Perks of running the Guild."

"Atleast you know my pain." She muttered under her breath. "Well, the nearest Portroom is only a 5 minute walk from here. I guess I'll take a gander at this guild of yours." She said, looking around, hoping those men wouldn't come back this way.

She started walking ahead of Bolin. "Alcina." She called out to him as she was walking away, and gave him a little wink.

"I guess I'll wait here then. Can I get something that is not watered down. I usually get that at bars I don't know of. I imagine that other "adventurers" will be showing up soon so I just want to be surprised at what I see and need be it, have a little fun with it."

"Feel free to hang around, Yin and I will be back once we're done with these posters." Bolin informed her before she started walking away. A grin curled his lips as she called back her name and winked. She was quiet spunky, he liked spunky. The hybrid waited a few moments before he turned and headed back to where he had been before to continue posting up the rest of the posters.
The bartender nodded and grabbed a glass from the rack that hung from the ceiling over the bar top, he filled it with a rich, thick, dark amber coloured liquid that held a slight shimmer to it. "First drink is on the house."

Alcina reached the Portroom and found her way into the arch which lead to the portals. Stepping into one of the portals, she closed her eyes, since the transsision of changing planets made her want to puke.

The next thing she knew, she was inside the Bleached Bones, just where Bolin told her to be. Good. She stepped out and walked to the barman behind the counter. "Hey, Bolin sent me. He said the Adventurer's Guild sign up would be here." She told the man.

Last edited by a moderator:
The man looked her up and down before nodding. "Of course." He motioned to the clipboard on the end of the bar. "Both of you will need to fill out one of these forms and sign it, make sure you read through it first. If you would like a drink, miss, first one is on the house."

She eyed the clipboard at the end of the bar, and noticed someone else near it. She let him take his turn and turned to the barman. "Anything strong. Weak ones feel watered down to me." She told him, looking over the assortment of bottles behind him.

With a nod, the bartender pulled a clean class down from the rack and filled it with the same stuff he had poured before. Thick, deep amber with a slight shimmer. "'Basilisk Blood' is the strongest we've got."

Alcina downs it in one gulp. "Aah! That felt refreshing! Thank you." She said to the barman, and turned her back on him. She was looking around the whole bar, creatures of every shape and size was here, yet only two people who were joining the guild were present. She looked to the other man, joining the guild. He was a Ny'iss. Black fur, red markings and quite tall. Huh.

She turned back, facing the barman. "That idolt Bolin sure does take his sweet time." She muttered under her breath, resting her chin on her hand.

Yin had finished his advertising spree in the human Colonies and had gone back to the Portroom, he took the portal out to Rhion to post in The Silver Fort. This was his last stop before he would go back to the bar. He always liked Rhion, the air was fresh and cool, not hot and biting like the winds of Cetis. The Fort itself was impressive, the silverstone shining in the sunlight. He stepped from the Portroom and headed out to the main advertising board of the Fort, there were half a dozen of them in the Silver Fort, but this was the most important one. Everyone saw this one, it was almost the first thing one saw as they left the Portroom. He strode across to it and found a blank spot, tacking the red flyer onto the board.
