SAMUEL HART

Location: Dorm ~ Mood: panicky ~ Tags: Jack; Kio.exe Kio.exe ~ Outfit: here

Sam was late for class. Normally this wouldn’t have concerned him, but this year, his Junior year, was different. It was a new school, with new people, in a new city. Seaview was the holy grail of schools on the east coast, and there was no chance in hell Sam would fit in.

Him even being here was hard to believe—a poor boy who lived with his single mother in Mississippi wasn’t very noteworthy, especially when most of the students at the school were the children of celebrities and politicians and important people. What did Sam have that they didn’t? Sure he could sing and was handy with a guitar and piano, but other than that?

Nothing. He had nothing.

That was why he couldn’t be late. His scholarship— and his chance to prove the whole world wrong—was on the line. Groaning, Sam slid out of bed, wincing at the absence of warmth that immediately bombarded him once outside the safety of his blankets.

On the other side of the room, his roommate Jack was still asleep, entangled in the absurd amount of blankets the older boy had brought with him. Sam was just glad he wasn’t the only one late, but he couldn’t very well leave him here. Striding across the room blearily, Sam flicked on the light and regretted it immediately as his eyes were flooded with bright white light.

“Psst, Jack,” Sam urged, face heating. The two hadn’t much of a chance to talk these last three days, since Sam had arrived, but he certainly seemed nice enough. “I...we’re late. You gotta get up,” he continued, looking desperately at the clock. 7:07.

“Seriously, Jackson,” Sam groaned, a hint of panic entering his voice. “We gotta go.”

Normally Samuel would have just left him here, but honestly? He had no clue where he was going and had been counting on Jack to show him around, or at least to his first class. After that the senior could ditch him, if he wanted.

Maybe coming here to New York was a mistake. Maybe he should have just sucked it up and gone to his crumbling old public highschool in his crumbling old town with no music department. Then at least he wouldn’t be late and quite frankly on the verge of a panic attack.

Man, this sucked.

Ellie Covalewich| A day before the start of the year | Somewhere in rural Virginia

Damn the Virginia countryside roads, Ellie thought to herself. Her mother's rackity ol' Ford F-150 from 1980 was not the best kind of thing to drive through those roads... though she was heading up to the highway to speed up her arrival. The Seaside Academy... the one place she was able to enjoy herself and expand upon her passion - swimming... though there were obviously other subjects she was interested in, that was her priority. And to get there, she had to go all the way from the small Kentucky town of West Liberty (god you just gotta love the American naming tradition). So that meant going through a few states...

New York - The unofficial capital of the United States. The place where you come to lead the business life, the place where tourists take mass photos of the Times Square, enjoy the local cuisine of McDonalds and other classical American fast food joints and where the many towers of many billionaires rise through the roof of clouds. The city of skyscrapers... the city of America, as they say

The Academy was placed somewhat close to Central Park as far as Ellie was aware, so she had to get through the busy town centre in order to park her car... but once she found the dorm... Oh lord, there'd be some unpacking to do.

Her truck politely parked itself in one of the few slots that was available, and the Polish American swiftly got out. The sun grazed her slightly red cheeks, illuminating her glasses. She picked out the clothing just perfectly - It was a bit chilly, but not so chilly that she'd have to don on some more warm attire.

A few hours later and she got most of her stuff out of the bed of the pickup, though there were a few items still left. No matter, she'd get herself packed out later... she had a roommate, she forgot... that was something Ellie would be stressing most about. Her last year was spent in a rented out apartment, but her mother explicitly stated that if she passed the first year, she would be getting a dorm and she didn't care with who. In exchange she'd allow the blondie to use her pickup. There was not much going on and there actually was a small bus line going through the town, so she'd be able to reach the provincial capital of Prestonsburg for groceries and whatnot.

6:45; The first day | Dorms of the Seaside Academy, New York City

Not much happened on the first day. Ellie woke up in her dorm room, still wearing her usual clothes as she fell asleep while reading some kind of novel on her Nokia... though she was quick to note it was 6:45 A.M. So she had to prepare.
The girl rushed to get herself changed, swiftly getting into her dark green t-shirt as well as donning on a knee-long white skirt. Her choice of coatwear didn't change, she was addicted to her jeans jacket. She did swap out the glasses for the contact lenses and, after getting her bag prepared, sat down to eat the sandwiches she prepared for herself the night before. The time was 7:15 A.M when she was done with her transformation. The building wasn't that far from here, she could just take a walk.

Raven wasn't normally up early, they were normally the sleep-through-every-alarm-until-you're-late-type, not that you can blame someone who thinks an appropriate bedtime is 1 am, but today was different. Today, hours before she would even have to leave for school, Raven was in the bathroom applying and re-applying make-up, hands shaky and her second monster sat on the counter beside the mess of make-up supplies around her. She had ended up in a black tank top and her loose pajama pants, her outfit waiting for her in her room. Raven's eyes darted every 10 minutes to her phone, checking the time over and over, fear that she'd end up late encasing her brain, clouding the reality that it was still dark out. She brushed the soft make-up brush against her eyelids, her eyes traced dark with eyeliner and lashes thick and droopy, crusted with mascara. She carefully drew in her eyebrow lines, desperately trying to steady her hand and focus on the music blasting through her headphones, loud enough to be heard by others but she didn't quite care. She let out a heavy sigh, wiping her brow and starting again, body buzzing aggressively and face stiff after the 4 failed make-up looks that had been done and wiped off before. She looked over her face, picking out every little mistake and trying to keep herself from correcting, chanting in her head that she looked fine, not even noticing that she had begun to mutter it out loud and quickly closing her mouth tight, face red, lips pressed hard.
She gathered her things into her bag and slipped back into her room, watching the time on her phone creep slowly closer to time for her to go. Her side of her room was already a mess, her bed messed and blankets half on the floor, her desk chair pushed randomly away from her desk and crumbled papers in her trash bin and tossed haphazardly across her desk. She cringed at the full view, though at least she had managed to keep it to her side, she felt horribly bad for her roommate, hoping he hadn't been disturbed by her anxiety fueled energy spikes over the night, obviously she hadn't slept a wink, stretching the whole night into a mess of songwriting, doodling, trying to sleep with headphones plugged deep into her ears, though that only ended in her tossing and turning, wide awake, her only rest a half-hour period of her laying with her eyes closed cuddled into Saturn, though she hadn't been able to fall asleep even then, luckily she was able to hide her heavy eye bags under piles of foundation and concealer. An outfit, yes she had tried on about 10 different outfits through the night, was laid gently along her bed. She snapped the cloths up, avoiding looking at her roommate in fear of awkward eye contact, and slipped to the bathroom again, stripping from her warm pjs and hooking a black lace bra around her before pulling on her white cropped tank top with a smaller black graphic on it that hugged her breasts and from under peaked her pierced bellybutton. She tugged on loose black cargo pants that hung on her hips, tugging them up and clipping the belt to keep them from showing too much. She pulled a spiked collar tight around her neck and clipped it shut before pulling her brush once again through her bright green hair, pulling it straight and covering her saved sides, gently tucking a black headband in the soft hair just behind her bangs. She clipped in her skeleton earrings and gave herself a few look overs in the mirror, picking out every little mistake and shaking her head, taking deep breaths trying not to panic, trying to accept that she looked perfectly fine, and slipped back to her room, peaking at her roommate before giving her shoe rack a lookover and pulling out a pair of 4-inch black leather platforms, chains jingling from them as she walked.
Raven tried to steady her breathing and cracked open the third monster from the minifridge under her desk, pacific punch, and let out a soft sigh after a long gulp. She set the can aside and carefully opened the cage that sat next to the window, refilling the rodents' food and water, and softly petting the two creatures. "Wish me luck today guys, I'll see you later okay? Don't worry I'll be back before you know it." She muttered softly to the two before latching the cage door again, watching the two scurry to the door bowl and consume the food hungrily, casting a ghost smile on the green-haired girl's face, not enough to shake the anxiety though. She moved her attention to her young pitbull, Saturn was sat on her bed now, watching her patiently. She smiled at the dog moving to her side and scratching her ear. "Are you ready girl?" She spoke shakily, grabbing the dog's black vest from the hooks and wrapping it around her, proud at how helpful and patient the pup was being, considering they hadn't gone out much yet. She clipped a chain leash to the vest and let out a whistle as she moved back towards her desk, the dog perking up in attention and jumping from the bed, and coming to stand beside her.
"Good girl," Raev whispered, giving the dog a small scratch on her head before grabbing her leather backpack and throwing it over her shoulder. She grabbed her skateboard, black and covered in stickers that curled at the edges and were covered with a layer of dust, cast one more look back at the shared room, still too anxious to regard her roommate and slipping out the door, closing it softly behind her, and looked down the corridor, still early as she wanted plenty of time to reacquaint herself with the school and finding her new classrooms, Saturns leash and her monster in one hand and her skateboard tucked under the opposite arm.

Dinah

OUTFIT: Vibes.
INTERACTIONS: Open
MENTIONS: Bex

There was no sound more miserable to Dinah than that of her alarm going off. While she's not typically what one would call an early bird, during few days of school she managers to get up a fair bit earlier to try and get back into the swing of things. That being said, the first day is always the worse. The three-hour time difference between home and school made it so that she had an impossible time trying to get to bed, and an even worse time getting up.

Eyes still shut, Dinah fumbled around her blankets, feeling for her phone to turn off the arm. She burrowed further into her bed, mentally flipping a coin if she should just say that she's sick and can't make it to class. "Bex, I'll give you a million dollars to call the school and tell them I've died..." There was a beat of silence. "Bex?" Dinah mumbled as she sat up and looked bleary-eyed across the room to her Bex's side. Much to her surprise, her roommate wasn't in the room. 'Maybe everyone's getting an early start today...'

Dinah stood up from her bed and did a big stretch, seemingly making every joint in her body pop. It was a loud, and a bit of a gruesome affair but it was the first thing she did every morning. She grabbed her phone for a time check, she really had to get moving on her day. Getting ready always took Dinah longer than she would ever admit to, but hey, it takes a lot of effort to look effortless. She tore through her boxes trying to find the right outfit, swearing at her past self for not unpacking when she arrived the day prior.

Once she got moving, she was able to keep up her momentum and get her act together in a timely manner. Well, timely for Dinah. Shuffling through boxes to find her clothes was more than a little annoying but was she going to do anything about it? Absolutely not! It would be at least a week before she got aggravated enough to unpack. It was the same every year, and that was the beauty of returning to school. It was like riding a bike, everything just sort of clicks into place once you get going.

Through the thin walls of the dorms, she could hear the quiet clicks of doors and the soft shuffling of other students who were making their way out for the morning. Dinah shuffled through her bag to make sure she had what she needed for the day, checked herself out in the mirror one final time, and then she was off. She was making fantastic time, just as she intended. She had left herself with just enough time to stop for a coffee and scroll on her phone before she'd have to actually make her way to her first class.

Rowan McNally
Good Morning
Mood: Stressed.
Location: Dorm.
Outfit: Simple, just how I like it.
Tags: None.

————————————————————————————————

The summer, to put it lightly, had sucked. Not because of lack of events, or missing school. No. It had sucked, simply because Rowan hadn’t had a single moment to relax, to spend time at the water hole like everyone else in her hometown,in Johnson, Rhode Isalnd. Instead, she’d spent the past three months zipping around the town at the beck and call of whichever friend needed her most at the moment. In between she had to take care of her mother, her father and her three, needy younger siblings, on top of working double shifts at the diner.

Normally she wouldn’t have minded it—Rowan loved her friends, and family, as well as her job—but she was running thin. She just wanted one day—one—to sit back and relax. To sleep. It was wishful thinking, she knew, but wishful thinking was all that she was running on at the moment.

Now, already back in New York after the three month break, Rowan couldn’t help but to miss it. Miss her mother, and Oakley, Magnolia and Ivy, her three younger siblings. She missed her dad, as hopeless as he was, and the little diner that served hundreds of customers in a day. But at least she could relax, right?

Wrong.

Her alarm had gone off far too early, and she was exhausted, but...at least she had time to get ready. It was the first day of senior year, she was going to look her best. And hopefully pick up some breakfast and coffee for herself before school. Ro had already taken a shower—thankfully taming her head of messy blonde curls—and now she sat on her bed, towel wrapped around her as she contemplated the outfits choices she’d laid out the night before.

Normally she would have just called Toby, and he would’ve been more than happy to help her pick, that adorable grin of his lighting up his face. He’d been her best friend long before they’d ever dated, and she missed him. Everyday since the accident. The kick off to the most truly awful summer of her life.

It was selfish, moping around like this, especially after three months. Sighing, she grabbed the outfit closest to her: a black short sleeved shirt and a pair of jean shorts. Simple but cute enough. Besides, no matter what she wore, heads had never truly turned in her direction. Not with all the gorgeous men and women striding confidently through the halls of Seaview. Her friends were all beautiful, inside and out. Rowan couldn’t have been more proud of the people they’ve become these last few years.

When she was dressed and satisfied with the way she looked, she grabbed her keys, bag—which was chock full of snacks, a first aid kit, extra clothes and you name it—and looked towards where her roommate was still sleeping. She didn’t know Sage well, but from what she could tell the younger girl was nice. Whether it was in the fake sort of way that most people were nice in New York remained to be seen, but Rowan could make no assumptions.

Ellie Covalewich| The first day | New York City, Seaview Academy Dorms
Mood: Relaxed, slightlly annoyed and a bit tired
It seemed okay to go out, Ellie argued to herself, the blonde rummaging through her purse. The notes? Yep, those were there - her old notepad and her recent purchase - A Galaxy Tab tablet she got on sale from the Internet. The thing was built quite a bit ago, but the reviews sounded enticing enough. So the gal had that front covered... let's see, clothes? Yep, her spare bra and panties were in, she was heading to the pool after all to get to know the place again. The facility was large, so she usually hung around the place for quite some time. Her goggles were worn quite a lot, with the rubber being grey and the glass getting fogged up quite easily. She had to get herself a new pair, but for now it had to do..

Heading out, the sun blasted the white skin of the Pole, who had to squint as she made her way to the car. Her beater was waiting obediently and thankfully there were no scratches. She remembered the incident last week when she was starting to scout out a place to park and left to get some tomatoes - a drunk idiot tore off her rear bumper along with the tow hitch and happily sped off whilst she was gone. The girl was happy enough to find a replacement, but it cost her dearly...

She was about to turn the ignition when she thought about it... why would she drive... what was she even doing. she told herself yesterday that she would take a hike. So with a groan, she leaned back in her seat with an annoyed look plastered on her face and took the keys out, before getting out. Now she just had to pray to Lord no one was going to stuff their car into hers... It was not even hers to begin with. Ellie then moved to head along the sidewalk. She had maybe ten minutes of fast walking to do, but she opted to just take a peaceful stroll, admiring the Empire State's landmark city. The park adjacent to the dorms looked enticing enough, but... no, she had to get to the classes, her curriculum was strict enough.

The first day | New York City, Seaview Academy, Front of the building twenty minutes later
MOOD: Excited, though anxious

And there it was... the representative of the utmost disciplined high schools everywhere. The pinnacle of education in the Western United States - Seaview Academy. The building itself was standing out greatly among the residential blocks surrounding it, and Ellie found it not at all difficult to reach it. Entering it, she began to make her way towards the administration to redeem her locker key - She was assigned a new locker, that was the school policy as far as she was aware. With the new key to add to her keychain, the blonde soon arrived near the locker number 172 - One she would spend every morning and afternoon at, picking up and leaving her stuff in. She started to rummage through it, ignoring the various students that were walking around her, trying to seem natural... gosh, she didn't like to really talk to anyone, the gal was always reclusive and never strived for much contact. The girl always liked to talk to her parents alone and her local community, the big city always frightened her. Because of the Academy, however, she had to adapt to it... and it wasn't going to be easy by any stretch of the imagination
