Fantasy Saving The Dragon Race

The year is 2020 the world is futuristic but also still full of small towns with huts and rural settings, mythical creatures were introduced to the human race in the year 2006. An alien spaceship crash landed in New York city causing mayhem at first, but was quickly accepted into the population with little resistance by the humans, there were a multitude of races but one race was on the brink of annihilation the Dragon Race. Large powerful creatures as told of the old tales, some beautiful, some horrifying. All were unique and none the same, there were only 20 left, but the hitch with dragons is they can't repopulate with their own species they must find a symbiotic partner to bare the children for them, the issue being that none such creature could bare the burden, until now. One fateful night it was discovered that the humans could bare the children for the Dragon race, but the thing that was found that only one human could do it, each dragon had only ONE partner for them. There was only one such special person in the world that could bare only that dragons child and so the dragons began to search far an wide there only clues of flashes in there dreams, and a tattoo marked on there right hand, for the human it was on there upper right shoulder. Humans would be marked for their partner at the age of 18 to mark their maturity, showing there body was ready to bare the weight of the child. Humans though, were not very lucky, for once the child was born the human would cease to exist because the soul and body of the human would return to the egg for which the child is born, but inside every egg is two hatchlings. One dragon and one human, the two were not partners, but they would help one another to understand dragons and understand the humans, so once they would separate to find there partners it was easier to integrate together and live on. Soon enough, marriages were commonly what it was known for once the dragon found it partner, but Dragons were not immortal, once the human spouse died after birth, the dragon lived on until the children were ready to leave home to find there spouse and the dragon would return to the earth to see there loved mate in the afterlife. Dragons have two forms, there dragon where they are most powerful, and they have the human form to help raise the children and to be with their lovers and blend in among the people.

The story starts off with the character Candice, who's freshly 18 and finally marked with her tattoo to find her mate out in the vast world and begins her journey. Equipped with her books of the magical arts, clothes, and money to get by she starts off beginning in a small village named Tetra making it there after two days journey she gets a room in a Inn then explores the town.
