"Oooh, scary~" Alvin cooed in a rather playful manner at the sailors' attempt to intimidate the tourists. Seems like their antics got him in a weird way. But still, seeing everyone else sending out their Pokemon for a battle, he decided to join in the fray. "And now..." Alvin fished out a classic Pokeball from his belt, then summoned an Amped Toxtricity from it with a chant: "Playtime, Rockman!" The Toxtricity enthusiastically strummed his protrusion upon seeing all the Pokemon challenging the tourists. "Innovator ♪ Killer machine ♪" Alvin sang quietly yet just enough to reach Rockman's earshot. "There's no fate ♪ Take control ♪ Brain power ♪" knowing what to do at this point, Rockman dashed closer to the Masquerain. And then...

"Let the bass kick, O-oooooooooo ♪"

As if on cue, Rockman played his "electric guitar" like a mad lad with the singing itself serving as a command for said Overdrive. The Toxtricity also made sure that he did the sudden karaoke session (?) too close for the Masquerain's liking. Like, what do they call it again? Point blank?

This is the song in question (Alvin sang it from 0:58 to end) :

Mike
A black-haired boy walked down from a docked ferry, his hands in his pockets. He had four pokeballs clipped to his belt. He took a deep breath of the air before continuing to walk. There he noticed a small crowd had formed at the docks. He saw about six to seven trainers(guessing by the pokeballs they had) being confronted by four mean-looking sailors. Mike just simply shrugged before going to stand near the sea where the ships were not docked. He wanted to stay there for a while to enjoy the sea air before he went looking for some colosseums. His gaze fell on the commotion happening and decided to just watch what was going to happen. The small argument soon broke out into a battle when one of the sailors sent out a Gyrados to attack. Mike wanted to interfere but didn't, seeing the trainers had the advantage for now. He continued to watch the battle from the back.

Cobalt
A Staraptor could be seen in the sky above the docks. But the Staraptor was not wild. But the Staraptor was not wild, its trainer, Cobalt was on it. He had black hair and brown eyes."Alright, Staraptor we are closing in on the Orre region, let's see if we can find a place to land, " He said. The giant bird pokemon chirped before diving down to land. Cobalt jumped down and looked around to see people's eyes on him. "We should have landed somewhere more secluded, " he sweatdropped. He returned his Staraptor to rest, ignoring the gazes on him. He walked towards the docks to see a battle already happening there. 'I am not even here and a battle already has started?' He thought. He wanted to join but decided not to as it will be overkill, and decided to just watch the battle.

Lorcan Greer

“Hitting someone is assault, are you crazy?!”
Lorcan snapped, giving a bewildered look to the pink-haired girl. Where the hell is she from that it's fine to attack someone just because you’re annoyed with them? He growled to himself in his head. The blonde’s jaw actually dropped as he watched the girl start to roll up her sleeves—a sure sign she wanted to fight; each other!! The fact that he was taller didn’t seem to deter her at all, and Lorcan had a sudden bewildering vision of himself having to fend off a full-on fistfight from the pinkette. But, fortunately, Gavy put an end to that quickly, and the renewed focus on the thugs fully recentered the attention into a more appropriate target. Call my Charizard ugly, Lorcan grumbled to himself. What’s the deal with that when you’ve got a doubley ugly bird? His blue eyes watched as the Decidueye engaged with the enemy Pokémon while Alphonse quickly took to the air with one strong wingbeat, avoiding the Hydro Pump of his own accord. While Lorcan refocued on what to do next, he suddenly found that his leg felt... light? And better? Surprised, he glanced over to see a weird-looking Rapidash channeling a Heal Pulse towards him, soothing the bruise on his shin. The blonde noticed the horse-Pokemon seemed to belong to the red-haired girl. Why had she helped him He didn't know, but, "Hey, thanks!" he called to her with a grin.
Beside him, he felt a surge of pride in his chest as he watched Laken and Dove going straight after their Gyarados, and unbeknownst to him, a dopey grin came over his features. Even after all this time, he still felt like the luckiest guy in the world. But, no way was he going to let Laken and Dove have all of the fun against these guys!
“Let’s focus on the Machamp!” he called out to Alphonse. I feel like the Malamar might actually be the most dangerous here, but better to let Iris tackle that one. Tilda might have a hard time against a Machamp, he thought. “Go with Dragon Pulse!” Lorcan called. Alphonse roared in agreement, then soared through the air into a better striking range. The orange dragon’s maw glowed for a half heartbeat before a purple, orange, and blue beam—vaguely resembling a dragon—launched directly at the Machamp. The type matchup may not have been the most ideal, but with Alphonse’s breath abilities, a full Dragon Pulse to the face would still hurt.

Iris can den Voss

Angry though she may have been at the pinkette’s blatant disregard for Lorcan’s comfort and personal space, Iris knew that there was another, more pressing situation to focus on. The brunette watched as several of her fellow trainers jumped into action, seeming to focus in mostly on the Gyarados. Machamp isn’t an ideal match for Tilda, but she can definitely go a few rounds! Iris thought in determination, knowing the black, fox-like Pokémon was much more durable than she appeared at first glance. In fact, Tilda was standing firm, battle-ready, but had her head and ears slightly angled backwards—waiting for instruction from her trainer. Iris looked at the leering Malamar, feeling a bit nervous. She’d had a run in with a Pokémon like it once, and that hadn’t exactly been a fond memory. But, she’d been a newer trainer at the time, and then she didn’t have an Umbreon.
“Tilda, open with Snarl!” Iris called. The Umbreon immediately darted forwards, like she'd been expecting this order, towards the opposing Pokémon, positioning herself still clearly in front of her trainer, and let out a rolling combination of a roar and a growl. It wasn’t a very powerful move in terms of damage, and would only do a little, but the Pokémon affected by it would be thrown for a sort of loop, and might find their special attacks weakened. “Now wait for a Payback on the Malamar!” Iris said, throwing an arm out in a sweeping gesture. That move was much more powerful after Tilda had already received a hit—it meant the Umbreon had to be damaged a bit, but she was more than capable of withstanding it. If it looked really dangerous, Tilda could always lunge in first!

Vincent positively reveled in the temporary confusion that his Zoroark's reveal had brought upon one of the thuggish sailors. "There's more to my act than mere parlor tricks, you philistine. Though you claim to have seen worse horrors, the mere fact that you nevertheless expressed any amount of shock... that is what matters to me. Kehehehehe..." He watched as one of the other sailors' Pokémon, a Gyarados, unleashed a Hydro Pump towards team. "And so, the mighty serpent unleashes its torrent of water... Zach, evade it!" With a quick nod, Zach pushed off the ground and leaped straight into the air to avoid the attack. Vincent eyed the other enemy Pokémon, a Masquerain, a Dhelmise, a Malamar, and a Machamp. Of those four, the Dhelmise caught his interest the most. Part of being a Gym Leader, in his eyes, was being aware of type advantages. Zach, as a Dark-type Pokémon, was weak to Bug, Fighting, and Fairy moves, and it seemed as if the sailors' choice of Pokémon fulfilled at least two of those criteria. However, it was the Dhelmise that appeared to be a weakness in their defenses, and Vincent planned to take advantage of this.

Glaring towards the Sea Creeper Pokémon, as the Dex would call a Dhelmise, Vincent scoffed. "And, you would send forth a revenant spirit of the seas? How outrageously heinous. The dead are to be granted rest and respected. Have you no shame among those muscles of yours?" He pointed towards the Dhelmise with absolute fervor. "Zach, join forces with that Decidueye and banish that wretched phantom back to Davy Jones' Locker! Use Shadow Ball!" Vincent commanded Zach, recognizing that another ally Trainer's Pokémon had also taken aim at the Dhelmise. In response, Zach, still airborne, gathered a ball of ghostly energy between his forepaws and hurled it towards the enemy Dhelmise in conjunction with the Decidueye's Spirit Shackle.

Now that the blonde guy got better, Alicorn stopped his Heal Pulse on his own accord. He turned to Marissa whose already-wide grin in relief got even wider upon hearing the oh-so-familiar tune from her brother and his Toxtricity. A full-blown Brain Power, eh? Not bad bro, not bad, the sister thought.

And then a rather naughty plan came to her mind. She hopped on her trusty Rapidash, much to his surprise, then asked him, "Say, Ali, wanna do the Charles' plan?" A mischievous grin came out from Alicorn as he was fully aware about the plan Marissa talked about. He immediately executed it -- by ramming a Dazzling Gleam on the Malamar while his trainer was riding on his back.

“Dodge their attacks, Gyarados!” The thug yelled out. The serpentine Pokémon took to the air, twisting its long body out of the way of several razor-sharp leaves sent towards it by the Decidueye. It hissed at the owl Pokémon, rearing back to send another Hydro Pump towards it, but the Gyarados was interrupted abruptly, being electrocuted by a powerful attack for the Raichu. It roared, slightly steaming a moment later, and looked weakened but still very much in the fight. “Use Aqua Tail on that stupid rat!” The scarred sailor yelled. The blue Pokémon roared in rage, swooping down from the air and swinging its massive tail inside of a wave at the Raichu.

“Dhelmise, watch--!” the tattooed sailor was cut off as the anchor-like Pokémon was slammed and chained with shadowy energy from that pink-haired girl’s Decidueye. The Pokémon briefly dropped to the ground, still without a sound besides a clanging noise, before floating back up again. The anchor swung eerily, but the Dhelmise didn’t seem mad. “Quick, use Anchor Shot!” the tattooed sailor yelled, throwing his hand forwards. “On that weird Pokémon!” Originally, It seemed like the Dhelmise would aim at the Decidueye, but at the last minute, it switched its target. The ghost Pokemon glowed with a silvery color, its anchor briefly looking brand new and a chain appearing. It hurled itself through the air, straight at the Zoroark, the steel move sure to hurt due to the Pokemon’s ability enhancing it. If it made contact with the Zoroark, that was. As it flew in the air towards its target, the Zoroark's Shadow Ball struck it head on. The Dhelmise kept coming, but shadowy energy surrounded it, and the Pokemon emitted a sound a bit like grinding gears as it flew to attack.

That tattooed sailor’s other Pokémon, the Malamar, found itself face to face against an Umbreon. The squid-like Pokémon winced slightly after being affected by the Umbreon’s Snarl, and the trainer noticed his Dhelmise shudder ever so slightly as well. “It doesn’t matter!” the sailor yelled. “Counter with Thunderbolt!” The Malamar shrieked in glee, its body sparking for a moment before it exploded in yellow sparks, launching a bolt straight at the Umbreon. The strange Pokemon seemed to start laughing, and its trainer was distracted dealing with Dhelmise, so neither of them noticed the girl on the weird unicorn Pokemon. Malamar was struck by Dazzling Gleam and sent flying, shrieking as it went. But when it landed, it landed upright and looked angrier than ever. One of its tentacles became coated in eerie dark energy and then snapped forward, right towards the Rapidash’s neck. It was using Throat Chop of its own accord.

Meanwhile, the scarfed sailor was doing quite well! Although he’d never seen the purple lizard-like Pokémon before, his Masquerain was fast, and easily fluttered straight into the air, aware from the assault of the creature. “Alright,” the scarfed sailor called, sounding slightly uncertain. He had no idea what type that Pokémon might be, so he was just going to do his best in choosing a strong move. “Amelia, use Ice Beam!” The Masquerain trilled in response, looking serious as snowflakes flurried around its wings, and then a beam of ice was shot directly towards the Toxitricity.

The old sailor with the pipe watched how the Charizard move carefully, and his Machamp was doing the same. In fact, the four-armed Pokemon didn’t even attempt to dodge until the very last second before the Dragon Pulse would strike. Then, it just sidestepped out of the way! The old sailor chuckled. “Nice try, boy, but I’ve been a trainer longer than you’ve been alive! Goro, get close and use Thunder Punch!” The Machamp nodded in affirmation, and then launched itself into the air, straight towards the Charizard with a mighty leap. As it flew, lightning gathered around one of its fists and it pulled its arm back, readying itself to strike at the orange Pokemon.

Ryker
~
Ryker watched from across the plaza as the tourists fought back against the sailors. It wasn’t surprising or anything, but wasn’t totally expected either. He’d personally seen newcomers to the region turn tail and run when faced with the average dock thug that hung around these parts. And, he’d also seen tourists trounce them before too. Either way, Ryker stood, eyeing the battle with an unimpressed look on his face. The sailors around Gateon weren’t experienced trainers for the most part. He could tell that some of the tourists did have experience instead, but it wasn’t anything that even remotely caught his eye. He watched as a Zoroark and a Decidueye both landed direct hits onto the Dhelmise, and then a Raichu’s electric move onto the Gyarados, but that wasn’t much of a show of skill. Any idiot could exploit a type weakness. In fact, if you couldn’t, you definitely weren’t anywhere close to good in the first place. Then there was the loud blonde guy and his Charizard. He’d opted for a strong move against a Pokémon he lacked an obvious advantage against, but it didn’t take much brain power to choose something with a heavy hit. Ryker rolled his eyes as he watched the Masquerain dodge an obvious assault from the Toxitricty. Didn’t that loser trainer know how fast airborn Pokémon could be? If he did, why bother wasting time with an attack like that? In fact, what was a little surprising to Ryker, was that he found the brunette girl the most intriguing to watch. Originally, he’d decided her Umbreon was likely the weakest Pokémon present (it was hard to stack up on paper next to the likes of a Decidueye, or a Charizard). But rather than go for an all-out attack like everyone else, she’d employed the use of a Snarl to weaken the whole lot first, and then chosen to strike at the Malamar. Because of the typing, it wouldn’t be a devastating strike, but as Ryker watched the sleek, black Pokémon maneuver itself around the field, he thought maybe the Umbreon was specifically trained as something like a tank. That was interesting to him, since that was a similar way to how he trained his own Pokémon, with specific roles on the team in mind. Did she do the same? Either way, her Umbreon was clearly well-cared for, and he was further interested in the presence of an Eevee standing protectively in front of the girl. Was she training another of its evolutions?

Keegan
~
“Oh, that’s...” Keegan mumbled, having turned around from where he stood when the commotion started. It wasn’t uncommon to see the sailors around here harassing tourists but still. Keegan couldn’t help but think... “I’ve gotta find Ryker! We have to help those cuties!” he said aloud to himself, noticing how many pretty girls were present. Of course, five seconds later he also noticed they seemed to have exactly zero trouble kicking ass against the dock guys, and that their Pokémon were super cool too. “Well, good for them!” he cheered loudly, his warm brown eyes sparkling happily. He thought it was pretty awesome that the group was going toe to toe with those guys, and their Pokémon were pretty awesome too! The weird-looking green owl, and the transforming fox-thing, were most interesting to him. “I really should find Ryker, though...” Keegan murmured to himself. He liked watching a cool battle and smack-down as much as the next guy, but this tour around Gateon wasn’t exactly a leisure trip. He and Ryker had a mission, and they should really be getting back to it. Clearly, the port wasn’t turning up any leads about their missing ship, so they should just move on to Ryker’s original plan and head for The Under.
He was jarred out of his thoughts when he felt someone abruptly bump into him. Keegan turned to find a pink-haired girl had walked right into him, dressed in rough-looking clothes. She said his name and he blinked once. She knew him? Twice. Had they dated or something? Three times. It clicked. Although he hadn’t seen her in many years, the shade of her face and the soft tint of her pink hair jarred him into immediate recognition. “Sakura?” he asked, uncertainty in his voice at first, until he registered the Typhlosion. Then, “Sakura!” he cheered loudly, lunging forward and squishing her into a tight but brief hug. “Are you for real right now?” he laughed loudly, his eyes sparkling. “Wow, I can’t believe it’s you! You’re still shorter than me though. But it’s you! You look so different. What’s with the clothes, are you undercover or something?” he asked with a grin. “And Bonbon!” he yelled in glee, bounding forward to squish the Typhlosion in a hug, too, before scratching around the Pokémon's ears. “He’s gotten huge!” Keegan balked, grinning happily at Sakura as he played with the fire Pokémon.

“You might have experience, but you can’t match our spirit!” Lorcan yelled at the thug he was facing, grinning like crazy. Even though this wasn’t an official match, or even a friendly battle, going head to head against a strong opponent—there was nothing else like it for Lorcan! In this world, there was nothing he loved more than the thrill of a good battle. And Alphonse seemed to feel the same way! When the Machamp so abruptly sidestepped such a powerful strike, Alphonse seemed surprised at first—and then the Charizard’s tail flame exploded with more fiery intensity than before. Come on Alphonse! Lorcan cheered in his head. It seemed, too, almost as if Alphonse was thinking the same thing. Let’s show this old man what the next world champions look like!
Biting back a worried growl as the Machamp took to the air with an amazing leap, Lorcan called, “Dodge it!” throwing his hand widely to emphasize—as if Alphonse didn’t already know that. The Charizard gave a beat of his mighty wings and managed to launch himself higher into the sky with a burst of energy, dodging the dangerous Thunder Punch by a hair. Damn, so it knows Thunder Punch. And it can reach Alphonse in the air. That sucks, but okay. We’ve gone up against way tougher opponents than this guy! the blonde thought to himself, the face of a certain Elite Four member immediately crossing the forefront of his mind. “Keep your speed up, Alphonse! Don’t let them get you with that Thunder Punch!” His Charizard roared in confirmation, looking at Lorcan with total trust in his sapphire eyes. “Alright, see if you can get a hit in with Air Slash!” Something about Lorcan was that he was a very physical battler—he moved his own body, gestured, cheered—right along with his Pokémon, and now was no exception! Alphonse swooped up in a vertical loop, then repositioned himself for a good attack. Angling his wings, he flapped them with a beat even stronger than the rest so far, aiming a slicing curve of wind straight for the Machamp.

“You can do it, Tilda!” Iris cheered, her hands clenched tightly into fists in front of her as she jumped slightly, watching the Thunderbolt arc towards her Umbreon. Ordinarily, a trainer would want to do everything in their power to keep their Pokémon from being hit directly. She even felt that way herself, most of the time, wanting to encourage Tilda to dodge out of the way—even knowing that the Umbreon herself would likely stand steadfast anyway. But there was nothing to worry about. Tilda might surprise a few people! Iris thought as the Umbreon’s body was suddenly consumed by electricity. The black, fox-like Pokémon stood tensed among the glow, but didn’t really show any signs of damage. When the electricity fizzled out, Tilda opened her eyes, fixing a glare straight on the Malamar. It was like she hadn’t even been hit with the Thunderbolt at all. “Tilda, amazing!” Iris called out, smiling widely and proudly. The Umbreon glanced over her shoulder and returned a smile to her trainer, calling an, “Umbri! Umbreon!” as a cheer of her own.
“Hit it with Payback!” Iris called, feeling confident. While Tilda had absorbed the Thunderbolt, the red-haired girl had charged straight in riding on her Rapidash, almost like some kind of valkyrie! Even with a direct Dazzling Gleam strike, Iris felt a little worried to see the Malamar get back up, angrier than ever. She was about to tell Tilda not to hesitate and to attack ad follow-up, but before she could, her Dark type was charging straight for the menacing squid Pokémon. You’re amazing as always, Tilda, Iris thought to herself fondly, smiling warmly as she watched her Umbreon be surrounded by a purple glow, then throw her body with all the force she could towards the Malamar; a move that took the power of a previous attack and body slammed the opponent with it—Payback.

Zach landed on the ground after having used his attack on the Dhelmise, but it was not long before the Ghost-type Pokémon unleashed an attack of its own as it summoned what appeared to be a chain of some sort to strike Zach. The Anchor Shot did connect, and Zach bared his teeth in pain as he was hit by the attack (which was amplified thanks to the Dhelmise's Ability). "Ah, a worthy adversary at last! How absolutely splendid! And yet... you are sorely mistaken if you believe you can drag us down to the netherworld!"

It was then that Zach glared intensely at the Dhelmise, a glint appearing in his eyes. "
Your Pokémon is quite strong, to be sure... but observe as I transform that strength into a weakness! Zach, use Foul Play! Show this sea dog the meaning of terror and leave them shivering in their boots!" Vincent bellowed. With another nod, Zach's eyes began to completely glow blue as his powers of Illusion activated. Where there was once a single Zoroark, there were now five as Zach created four illusory duplicates of himself. Zach and his clones coated themselves in dark energy and charged at the Dhelmise. In an effort to overwhelm the enemy Pokémon's senses, the five Zoroarks split up and ran towards the Dhelmise from different directions. If the Foul Play connected, the Dhelmise would only be physically struck by the real Zach and not his clones, for a Zoroark's illusions, as realistic as they looked, were actually completely harmless.

Allie smirked slightly, the man's response confirming to her that he wasn't the one she'd been waiting for. Still, his somewhat flustered reaction was rather novel. She found it endearing, since many she delt with didn't make a point to try to be polite. It was a refreshing change, and it amused her that the man didn't seem to be at all familiar with the situation.

"It's just a drink. You don't need to fuss about it too much," Allie teased with a small chuckle. "It's not uncommon to offer a free drink to someone who catches my attention. I'd say it's an ice breaker of sorts. You don't need to drink it is it doesn't suit your taste."

Allie smiled sweetly, her Skitty's ears perking up a bit in curiosity but making no other move to shift from the cozy position in the trainer's lap.

"You don't seem to be all that used to dives like this. Or maybe you're the sort to keep to themselves," Allie mused, leaning against the counter as she continued to focus her gaze on the man. "Surely I'm not the first person to make a move like this."

Just when the Malamar was about to strike with a Throat Chop, an Umbreon's Payback halted it big time. This allowed both Marissa and Alicorn to look around. Judging by the look of things, the Dhelmise got in trouble with the Decidueye and Zoroark... wait, I thought it was a Wingull? Ah well, whatever. Anyway, the Machamp and the Charizard seemed like they were having their own duel. The Gyarados looked really mad with that Raichu over there. And then there's the Masquerain fluttering in the sky, trying to dodge Rockman's Overdrive. "Uh, sis, what now?" Alicorn asked via telepathy, to which Marissa replied, "Charles' plan. Again." With that as their only directive (though admittedly rather unclear to the onlookers), the redhead girl directed her steed back to the clashing Umbreon and Malamar. The Unique Horn Pokemon then kicked his foe upward as soon as the Umbreon ally got out from his way and followed it up with another ram of Dazzling Gleam in an attempt to fling the Overturning Pokemon straight to the airborne Masquerain.

"Dodge that Air Slash!" the old sailor yelled, looking between his Machamp and the Charizard. He'd actually been a fairly skilled trainer in his youth, before his sailing days, and even he had to admit that this Charizard did seem pretty strong. Machamp braced itself, watching the acrobatics the Charizard was doing, trying to anticipate when a strike would occur. There was the hint and then the slightest change int he way the other Pokemon flicked its wings, and then Machamp hastily jumped straight upwards, the ground where it had been standing being torn up by wind. Stones flew everywhere as the powerful air blast subsided. "Thunder Punch!" yelled the sailor with the pipe. Machamp prepared to leap again, and then was soaring once again directly towards the Charizard in the air, one mighty hand full of electricity.

The Malamar shrieked as it was tackled by the Umbreon, flying backwards across the plaza. It slammed into the ground a little ways away, buckling and crumblinb before it rose up again, looking furious. It raised one tentacle to aim a Throat Chop at the Umbreon, but before it could, it was slammed once again by the same Rapidash from before. This time, the squid-like Pokemon flew straight into the air, soaring upwards until it directly hit the allied Masquerain. It shrieked, glaring hatefully downwards as it began to fall, but before any other moves could be made, both the Masquerain and the Malamar were zapped by the ending sparks of the Toxitricty's Overdrive! Both Pokemon fell tot he ground, slightly smoking. The Malamar stirred a little, but then a moment later didn't move at all. Neither Pokemon showed signs of getting back up. "Amelia, no!" the scarf sailor yelled, running forward and hastily scooping up his fainted bug Pokemon in his arms, cradling it close.

For the first time since being released from its Pokeball, the Dhelmise showed some emotion: surprise. The floating anchor Pokemon let out a startled, ghostly hiss as suddenly the Zoroark became not one but five. "Huh?? What? Double team?!?" The tattooed sailor cried out, looking frantically between the copies. "Dodge, er--! Watch out!" The sailor yelled, not knowing what to tell his Pokemon. The Dhelmise was floating erratically, as if trying to determine which one to avoid, but then, the Foul Play connected. The anchor Pokemon flew across the plaza, remnants of dark energy dissipating from the anchor as it laid on the ground. Not getting up to float anymore, the Pokemon was clearly knocked out.

Damn, dodged again? Lorcan thought to himself, gritting his teeth. He watched as Alphonse made a tilt turn through the air, managing to dodge the Thunder Punch once again ("Thank Arceus, because that would've been bad!"). Still, Alphonse couldn't dodge forever--they were only getting so lucky because Alphonse was particularly skilled in aerial combat, and Machamp obviously lacked wings. But, with the way things were going, neither of their Pokemon were making any progress in the battle. That wouldn't normally be an issue, but these guys weren't exactly the friendly sort. Besides, what if Iris needed some extra help? He hadn't been able to glance over from his own battle so far, the split-second, edge-of-your-seat moments making it difficult to do so. We need to try something else. That Machamp had to watch for a long time before it could dodge the Air Slash, I bet if we went a little tricker, we could confuse it and score a hit!
"Alphonse, aerial acrobatics! Use all the fancy maneuvers!"
Lorcan called with a grin. The Charizard didn't seem confused with the sudden mixed-up suggestion, because he launched right into looping and whirling through the air, putting on an aerial show even a more stream-lined flying type Pokemon would be jealous of. "Alright, use Air Slash when you're feeling good!" Alphonse roared loudly in response, taking a huge swooping detour out over the water. Then, the Charizard flew back in, like a bullet, then straight into the air. It seemed like Alphonse would dip down and dive bomb, but instead his wings snapped open, suspending him in the air; then, one mighty wing beat and an Air Slash was flying directly at the Machamp. "Nice Alphonse!" Lorcan yelled in glee, feeling giddy and good about the display his Charizard had just pulled off.

Iris van den Voss

"Yes, amazing!" Iris cheered as Tilda scored a direct hit against the Malamar, stopping it from attacking one of her ally Pokemon. The Umbreon landed squarely on the ground, still tensed in a battle crouch and prepared to strike again. A growl rumbled in her throat, and it was obvious the dark type was totally focused on the situation and protecting her trainer. "Okay, let's try a--" Iris was interrupted as the Rapidash and its trainer came through to strike at the Malamar again. Oh! Well that works too! Iris thought, seemingly slightly awed as she watched the Malamar go flying through the air and eventually meeting the end of its rope via the other red-head present. Some tension left her shoulders as she sighed in relief--at least now, she'd defeated the immediate threat to her own self. Now, they would just need to check-in and see how everyone else was doing. Tilda, for her part, remained tensed and focused, staring at the fallen Malamar for her crimson eyes for almost a whole minute before her body relaxed--as if she were double-checking that the Pokemon posed no threat anymore. Then, the Umbreon turned and ran back to Iris. "Thank you for looking after us, Tilda!" Iris said happily, opening her arms lovingly. Tilda launched herself upwards into Iris' chest and nuzzled lovingly into her neck. Iris laughed and hugged the Umbreon tightly, and then Stella jumped up too to join the cuddle fest.
Hugging her Pokemon, Iris turned to look and see how her friends were doing. It seemed that boy with the Wingull was doing fine... with his Zoroark! The dark type was using its illusions to generate four more of itself, and the trick worked perfectly against the Dhelmise.
That reminds me of Ghezan! Iris thought, picturing her brother Nash's Zoroark who was similar in color pattern to this one, but much, much larger. So, she wasn't particularly surprised by the use of illusion, even though she couldn't help but think how real they looked--Ghezan had fooled her with his silly tricks on more than one occasion, so that sailor, who might've never seen a Zoroark, falling for one was no surprise. She watched the Dhelmise fall to the ground. That's three knocked out! Iris thought in excitement. Her gaze drifted to Lorcan and Alphonse, facing off against that Machamp. It didn't look injured at all, but Alphonse looked totally fine, too. Maybe they are in a dead lock? Should I jump in to help? Iris wondered. Lorcan could more than handle his own in a battle, but she didn't want to just stand by! The brunette's gaze flicked over to Laken and her Raichu, facing off against the Gyarados. Maybe they could use some help instead?

Chase Wilder
Defamed Scientist

Chase's face slowly became more red as the woman teased him. As she spoke his hands fidgeted with the small glass before him and his gaze slowly drifted back down to it. She seemed harmless enough she was in fact the first to have made a move like this toward him. The gesture of buying one a drink was not something Chase had been on the other side of and rarely been on the giving side, only in his earliest years as a young adult.
"I um-" he started before pausing, wanting to be free from either this situation or at least from his anxiety, he took the shot. While it certainly wasn't something he'd have ordered on his own he wasn't one to complain much about alcohol. His finger traced the rim of the shot glass a moment as he thought over his response. "I'm more used to sticking to myself and well... I've never had a wom- anyone be the one to buy me a drink before."
Maybe it was the alcohol or the fact she didn't seem to recognize his, maybe it was a mix of both but Chase did feel less anxious that he usually was in social interactions. "Wanna do so a few shots together?"

  • "Ah! What a move! Can't believe we did it," Alvin sighed in relief upon seeing the Masquerain and Malamar falling down... wait, Malamar? As far as Alvin and Rockman were aware of, the Masquerain was their only foe, so how could a Malamar be sent flying there out of the blue? That question alone made him look around to see any possible directions of the Malamar's sudden arrival. And as for Rockman, his gaze were focused on a random (?) Umbreon checking on the fallen Malamar before going back to their trainer. The Amped Toxtricity immediately followed them, much to Alvin's surprise. "Just where in the world did it- HEY! ROCKMAN, WAIT!!!" the redhead guy yelped right before following his Toxtricity.

It took the duo quite a bit of running to realize that the Umbreon belonged to that brunette lady from before. The two, along with her Eevee, looked so dang happy with their win. Not far from them was Marissa riding on Alicorn's back, seemingly focused on that Machamp vs Charizard battle over there. Was that Malamar really Alicorn's doing tho? Alvin thought. Judging from the sizes of all Pokemon involved, there's no way an Umbreon could deliver such a powerful kick that could fling someone of that size, thus leaving the pastel-colored Rapidash as the possible culprit in this case.

"Well, wanna help that Chari- huh?" Alvin was about to ask Rockman only to find the latter gone. Turned out that the Amped Toxtricity went ahead and spewed a hearty amount of Venoshock on the old sailor -- the Machamp's trainer. What the... Alvin widened his eyes in disbelief before screaming out of frustration, "ROCKMAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!"

Vincent Jameson

As both the sailor thug and their Dhelmise were utterly bewildered by Vincent's Zoroark and their Illusion-based trickery, Vincent was positively eating it up and enjoying every metaphorical bite. "Oh, how your combined confusion is a feast for our eyes and ears! What a show, indeed!"

Zach kicked off of the Dhelmise once his attack had struck them and his Illusion clones dissipated. With a backflip through the air, the Zoroark landed on all fours right in front of Vincent, right where he had started. Both Zach and Vincent surveyed the remaining enemy Pokémon-- a Machamp and a Gyarados, before they planned their next move. The Machamp, being a Fighting-type Pokémon, was arguably the bigger threat in terms of type advantages, and it seemed like the Gyarados already had enough opponents as it stood, namely, a Raichu and the Decidueye that had assisted in taking down the Dhelmise. As such, Vincent opted for Zach to go after the Machamp. "With the ghost laid to rest, turn your attention to the Machamp! Its muscles may be large, but pure strength is not everything! Assist that Charizard with a Focus Blast!" With a quick nod, Zach built up an orb of bluish energy between his forepaws and chucked it towards the Machamp.

There was also the matter of the Machamp's Trainer being attacked by a Venoshock from one of the twins' Pokémon, which Vincent could only shake his head at. While the Venoshock would probably disrupt the Machamp from receiving any instructions, the idea of a Pokémon directly attacking an enemy Trainer in a battle was definitely embarrassing.

Allie smiled at the suggestion, pleased to see that her charming attitude was going over well, even if this wasn't the man she was waiting to meet. Never one to turn down a good time, Allie nodded, waving the bartender over.

"I'd love to," she replied cheerfully. "I've always found that drinks taste better with a bit of company."

She gave the bartender her order for an ordinary tequila shot to kick things off, looking back over at Chase.

"My name is Allie, by the way," Allie said, petting her skitty's head. "This Skitty is my travelling partner Mau."
