You are encouraged to create more than one character as obviously death is possible in this setting and having a few characters die would add to the storyline's realism. That being said, I am limiting you to a maximum of two main characters, and one side/zombie fodder character at the beginning. Mabel's parents were divorced in the blink of an eye and she was put into some serious therapy.

Mabel and her father lived in the lower-income area of their town; her father was a mechanic at a local car shop. They didn't have a lot of money {and Mabel would always give her dad a hard time about taking school seriously} but it was enough to get by. Mabel was always good at making sure to take care of the house and cook dinner for him whenever he had to work late hours {which was often}. They were just living a normal life, with Mabel just about to head out the door for school, when the zombies showed up; biting Mabel's dad and forcing her to go on the run.

Winslow is honestly just tired. Life feels very fast for him, and especially with the situation at hand, his anxiety and exasperation are forefront. He has a strong head on him, though: he is incredibly loyal and truly wants to be friends - or just liked - by everyone. He will hold on to friendships and keep secrets with his entire life. He is a peacekeeper when it comes to arguments, always choosing the centrist route. He is just like a dad friend, always there for whoever needs a shoulder or some less-than-quality advice. He's an incredibly hard worker, but sometimes, feels like life just isn't giving him a damn break. He tends to swear a lot because of this stress.
