Oh! Sure!

For starters, my boy North is really nice and stuff. Though he's got a competitive bone in his body, he likes to get familiar with his rivals first! What's your character like? She's the ex-Atlas soldier, right?

She’s a daughter of an ex-atlas soldier. She’s witnessed a lot of problems due to having grown up witnessing the lower and less flattering side of Vale society and having a tough and unstable father.
I’d say she’s got a rather bleak outlook of the world and is quite closed off.

Aw man, then North and her have contrasting personalities. North is more of an optimist because he's lived in the forest for most of his life and didn't experience much of society and its norms. His parents wanted to raise the most powerful kids they could, but to do it they sent all of their children into the middle of nowhere in a forest filled with Grimm and left them there to fend for themselves. A lot of his siblings died in there. Only four came out, including him. He's really bitter about his parents. I mean, anyone would be, right? He doesn't have anything against other people he meets, though. Unless you're like his parents, doing bad things to prove that you or someone else is strong enough instead of treating them like people..

Well they atleast have bad parents in common. Her father isnt great either. Korin would probably see him as either lucky or stupid to be able to be so optimistic in the field of hunters/huntresses, probably both. I’m going through his CS and excerpt and I think if you haven’t read Korin’s CS and excerpt yet then it might help to get an idea of her personality

Oh, yes yes, I read her profile just now! For him, he probably thinks he's super lucky as well. To be one of the survivors of a terrible practice can make you think that you only got out alive because of luck. But he doesn't let that get him down! Sometimes you just need a bit of luck. Besides, he knows the horror of the Grimm and what they can do, and he's lost good family to them for a stupid reason. He doesn't want anyone to love who they love to anything like that. He doesn't know if he can make the world better, but he can still try to solve the smaller things. Eventually that's what will grow.

Also, where's her excerpt? I'm having trouble finding it

*edit*
Nevermind! Found it!

I think he's a healthy replacement for Geist's old partner. A little competition couldn't hurt, and optimism and luck are oftentimes the best things a sellsword could ask for in trying times.

Geist is in a weird place when it comes to being a person. She's an effective team player (when she isn't irritated by bumblings), and is always on the lookout for moments where she can help out in combat or missions. Outside of it, though, she's stiff, tense, and a little awkward. Usually it was Yurei who did the talking for both of them while she just stood at one side trying to parse small talk as if they were actual conversational topics. She ends up being a good listener, but not really a good talker. If you just need someone to 'uh huh' 'yeah' and 'seems like it' through your rants, she's your gal. Furthermore, getting closer to her might actually elicit more snarky or lengthier responses.

Man, flexing your parents? Some of us didn't have the luxury!

Good parents just don't exist here. Bad or dead parents only!

I wonder how many talkative characters there are in comparison to the non-talkative ones. It'd be nice to get characters to develop and become more outgoing, but it's gonna be real awkward at first.

I don't even know what to count Geist's foster parents as. They were generally all pretty good people, just that they were also mercenaries who will kill for money, and, you know, used child soldiers.

If anything, Geist and North can bond over survival stories and how lucky they both are.

Also, talking weapons and battle stuff with Geist is one way to get her to open up. She spergs out over weapons. Despite using a generic and uninteresting weapon, she is a weapon geek herself, and would like to check out the designs and mechanisms of others' weapons.

North ain't really a weapons geek. His weapons are just two knife looking things stuck together with a strong magnet that somehow lets him take it apart. He didn't put that much thought into it honestly (*sweats*) I should make his siblings and stuff, but that's so much work.

Somewhat unrelated, but I did have an idea for Geist's sister/partner's appearance and abilities.

This is Yurei. She uses the extreme version of Geist's own weapon, with a heavier, more powerful axe-head that has no spear-point, and a revolving rifle, and combines into a huge battle-axe. Likewise, while she is of a smaller frame than Geist, Yurei specialises in using her Aura for power swings as compared to Geist's 'middle of the line' non-specialisation. Unlike Geist, however, she code-switches much better, being able to handle people much better than Geist (though that isn't very difficult to do).

Naming convention-wise, both of them are named after non-specific ghosts, befitting their original 'use'- two ghosts that no one will miss or remember, ironically.

Their last names are also fairly generic, though they are very fitting of both sisters. Aoshima ('Blue Island') was the base of the Yurei-Geist team, being able to tank and dish out big damage, but lacks the mobility to move around fast. She, in Geist's backstory, also decides to stay in one place and build her own business.

On the other hand, Grauwolke ('Grey Cloud') doesn't stay in one place, and relies on her mobility to out-manouevre picks and targets, and typically drifts around the 'island' so to speak, as part of their strategy. In her backstory, she also does this, staying with Yurei for a while, then becomes a drifter, still trying to find a place for her in her life.

huh, kinda makes me think of Syaoran and Watanuki

I assume that's referring to Tsubasa Chronicles. I've heard of it in passing, but never really got into it.
yep, that’s the one, but the reason for it is a spoiler so

Watanuki and Syaoran defeat the big bad together, ending Tsubasa Chronicle and xxxHolic at the same time but have to pay a price for their paradoxical existence. Watanuki was an existence born from the void in the world’s memory because of Syaoran’s wish, and for them to keep existing together, Syaoran travels the different worlds so his existence doesn’t get tied into one place too long while Watanuki stays in and inherits Yuko’s shop which exists in its own pocket dimension so he doesn’t cause a paradox.

tl;dr Syaoran can’t stay in one place while Watanuki stays put in a shop so they can both keep existing
