Character Rules!

1. The reason for non-acceptance from Beacon Academy or the likes cannot be too extreme. No convicted criminal or things that would make your character be in jail. (If you have questions or want a reason that skirts to line, ask Silently or Myself)

2. Semblance power is not locked in. There is a chance that if you find your semblance unsatisfactory, over time it can develop and become more powerful. Not to say you can't start with a powerful semblance.

3. Make your Semblance match the character, and make sense for them. Nothing gory for the girl who hates blood, etc etc.

4. Make your character have a reason to stay around. Not that I don't want you to have fun! But why would our group keep around someone they dislike. Keep this in mind. (However, it would be good character development having a character people don't like trying to fix himself and or make himself likeable.)

Name: Oxblood Jay

Age: 17

Oxblood's attire consists of three layers for his upper half. The first is a simple white teeshirt, the second is a black and grey striped jacket and the final layer is an overcoat or cloak that doesn't cover his back but instead only covers his arms and around his neck area he has a fur collar. His bottoms are simple grey pants. On his head, he has a hat that is exposed at the back letting his har out. The hat itself is green and black and has cat ears. Finally, he has some green shades.

Weapon Description:

Virtuoso- is similar to weapons such as Oobleck's thermos because it contains one everyday use form and two weapon form. In boombox form, dust can be inserted into the boombox and then a cassette can be inserted and depending on the music depends on the amount of dust that shoots out of the speakers the louder and fast the music the bigger and faster the dust shoots out of the weapon in the form of sounds waves. The transformation is triggered by a bottom on the back of the boombox towards the bottom. Essentially, Oxblood would tap the button with his foot which would extend the handle and then grab it off the ground and go to town on whatever badies need slaying. Of course, the button could be pressed by other means, but they would be inferior in coolness. While the hammer itself is a powerful melee weapon, the real power comes from the speakers on both ends of the weapon. Pressing the trigger will allow both speakers to "fire" of a beat of intensely devastating soundwaves. This gives the hammer both driving force (the soundwave thrust the hammer forward) and additional crushing force (the sound waves push against whatever the hammer is coming down upon). The driving soundwaves emit greater than the crushing soundwaves in order to avoid the awkwardness of the hammer having two equal driving forces on both sides of the hammer.

Semblance:

Soundwave Emission- Oxblood's semblance allows him to create an extremely loud sound wave generated from his mouth. The sound waves can push people and Grimm back as well as be used to give Oxblood so more mobility allowing him to be launched slightly into the air. The semblance can be enhanced with dust by chewing on a dust crystal and then blowing out the partials and part of the dust. Overuse of this ability can cause him to get a sore throat, temporarily lose his voice or if he does major overuse he can rip the corner of his mouth.

Reason For Declinement:

Connection to a wanted criminal and possible mental instability.

Backstory:

Oxblood grew up on the streets of Vacuo, he never knew his real parents and was raised by a man who called himself a huntsman who took in strays and taught them to defend themselves. The man was a Faunus, however, he never discriminated against humans nor was affected by the racism that affected many Faunus. Oxblood was raised alongside seven others four females and three males and all were raised by the single Faunus who never gave his real name and instead insisted on being called House. House taught the children each in different things some he trained into huntsmen and women others into various other jobs Oxblood was someone he didn't know what to do, most he couldn't just tell outright what should be done with them but Oxblood was the odd one out, his personality made him more suited for a non-huntsmen job, however, his body was one made for a huntsmen so House decided to let him pick, him being him he just laughed and flipped a coin it landed on heads landing him a huntsmen.

The overall training went for 10 years for the first 6 he did not have a weapon nor did anyone until the age of ten once he reached ten he started making his weapon and finished it within the next three years, the day he finished his weapon was also the day he discovered his semblance creating a perfect combo. Now at aged sixteen something unexpected happened, while training one day the Vacuo police force broke into the place where the children where being training and arrested everyone.

It turned out that House wasn't who he said he was, he was not huntsmen but a man who kidnapped young children trained them, manipulated them and then selling them to the highest bidder. Most of the children where let go however a select few had to stay Oxblood being one of them. The police did a full mental and physical workup and found some mental oddities they could tell that House's methods had affected Oxblood but not to the extent that it had done on most. The police left a not on his police file before letting him know.

Since Oxblood only knew a few things mostly how to fight and how to play music he knew what he wanted to do. He began applying to all the hunter schools, his plan becomes the first DJ hunter. However, he was shocked when all the school declined him not one wanted him. The last one he applied to was Atlas Academy which sent him a letter back. Most of it was unimportant however it did state why he was declined. The main two reason were that he had no formal training but mostly it was the note on his police report warning that he may be mentally unstable and highlighted that he was raised by a wanted criminal.

Feeling dejected Oxblood began training himself for the next year mostly using the same way House taught him. It wasn't until he was seventeen that something changed. A woman called Rose interrupted Oxblood's and offered to train him. Oxblood looked her up and down before out of nowhere swinging at her, he was instantly disarmed with a slight smile Oxblood accepted.

Name: Heilig Gartner

Age: 15

Physical Description: Heilig is a short 5'0 wolf Faunus from Menagerie. She rather tan, and her Faunus traits appear in the signs of how she acts like a playful dog, and her wolflike ears. She has a very slender bodytype, and she wears mostly white clothes.

Picture:
5fc64f641eafca283ffe8f5e3654491066ba157a.jpg

Aura Color: Pure White

Weapon Picture:

290

Five-seveN_Rotators_2-1800x1275.jpg

Weapon Description: Heilig uses a quarterstaff that she made herself. It is wide and around seven feet long. The staff collapses and breaks in the middle into two smaller pistols. Both the pistols and the staff are dust powered, and will strike dealing elemental damage depending on what dust is loaded.

Semblance: Heilig can attach her aura to another person’s aura that is a reasonable, (less than 500 ft away) distance away. When she does so, she can help strengthen the others aura, and heal any wounds they have. This is even to the point that she can restore someone’s aura that has been broken, letting them to continue to fight with renewed vigor. However, this ability is directly tied to her own special energy pool. She cannot just sit in the back and continuously heal. Eventually the speed will go down and then the person she is attached to will gain no benefits. To keep this ‘energy’ up, she has to fight, and damage enemies.

This semblance can slowly develop over time, and become more powerful, and allow for new abilities to unlock.

Reason For Declinement: “Ms. Gartner was denied for her atrocious grades in her fighting class. While she was applicable in every other regard, a hunter must fight. If a hunter cannot, then they shouldn’t be a hunter. It may be harsh, yes, but it is the life of a hunter. If she can significantly improve her grades in this class, then perhaps she should reapply.”

Backstory: Heilig was born in Menagerie, among the tribal community that exists there. Her mother was a wolf Faunus and a local doctor. Her father was human hunter who moved there to be with her mom. She was born a Wolf Faunus, like her mom, and had a rather deep interest in being a doctor. She loved how her mom helped people. From a young age, she wanted to be just like her. However, fate would have it that she was blessed with an aura. It happened randomly, and not even Heilig really knows what triggered it, but her father caught onto it instantly. When Heilig realized it, she knew what she wanted to do. She liked to help people? Who helps people more than hunters and huntresses. With her insistence, the family moved to Vale when she came of age, to join one of the many academies for young, aspiring huntresses. She was determined to be the best there was, while still helping people…

But her pacifistic nature brought her to her knees on the path towards higher education.

Misc/Etc Info: Heilig has a really motherly outlook on life. She wants to help everyone she possibly can, and looks out for her team like they were her family. Anyone can talk to her and spill their heart to her. She’s there to help.

Elliot Mauve

Name:
Elliot Mauve

Age:
16

Physical Description:
A young boy who’s most notable features immediately give away that he is a faunus. Two white/creme-ish cat ears blend into his messy hair that’s irregularly cut, causing it to reach further down on the right than it does on the left. Dark brown spots/stripes can be found on both his ears and tail, and there’s even a small dark brown stripe hiding in his hair.

Elliot stands at a whopping 5’6” that, together with his skinny build, don’t exactly make his appearance quite menacing or dangerous at all. His resting face makes him look like he’s in an almost permanent state of confusion and his eyes are both a lighter shade of pink/purple, adding up to the innocent look Elliot currently has.

Picture:
4eiR8oK.png

Aura Color:
Elliot owns a simple aura that shows itself as a lighter version of his last name’s corresponding colour. In other words, it’s a variant of purple.

Weapon Picture:
5lK4Cb9.png

Weapon Description:
A weapon that embraces simplicity and functionality, not so much caring about looks as perhaps noticed from the dull colour scheme and less mechanically complicated changes. Elliot wields an unnamed sniper rifle that utilizes both regular and dust-based bullets. The sniper rifle is accompanied by a scope capable of being zoomed in/out depending on the situation, as well as a simple attached bi-pod in case more stability is required. The rifle’s ammunition comes in packs of 8.

The weapon's alternative mode reveals itself as a blade hidden within the stock of the Rifle. This blade will fold outwards and manifest a scythe-like structure. The sharp blade can make another 90-degree spin to temporarily change the weapon into a spear, the form Elliot personally prefers. Additionally, a smaller blade will fold outwards on the opposite side of the stock that can obviously also be used in battle. Currently the short-range options added to the rifle are seen as a last resort, thus they're not being actively used. This is mainly because Elliot is awful at close-range combat, preferring to keep a bit of distance between him and his enemies.

The dust-based bullets/functions used by the weapon are as follows

Electric dust ammunition: Ammo that releases a shock upon impact, powerful enough to briefly disrupt a grimm’s movement, preventing one from moving for a slight amount of time. Generally doesn’t have much of an impact on bigger grimm, though it can still be very annoying.

Alternative fire: An ability active in both forms, alternative fire is a simple yet essential part of the weapon. It utilizes a separate dust container that only functions when filled by wind dust. In rifle form, Alternative fire is activated by the flick of a button and quite significantly increases the speed of fired bullets at the cost of a more powerful recoil. When in melee mode, alternative fire simply releases a powerful gust of wind capable of firing the weapon (and anyone that holds it) into a certain direction everytime the special button is pressed. The released gust can also knock back smaller targets, though it generally doesn’t affect bigger Grimm. much like the ammunition, Alternative fire has 8 uses before having to be replaced.

Elliot’s weapon has a compact form in which the barrel is shortened and all additions are folded in, allowing for it to be carried around somewhat more easily.

Semblance: Pathway
Pathway is the embodiment of Elliot’s everlasting determination and resilience. He chooses his own way of going through life, and will stick to it until the very end without caring much about the opinions of others.

Through properly using his aura, Elliot can activate Pathway to create two portals that are roughly 2 meters in height and 1 meter in width. These portals look like ovals completely shaded a lighter purple that gets darker the closer it gets to the middle. The portals can be created at maximally 10 meters away from Elliot, though the portals themselves cannot be farther away from each other than 5 meters. Upon moving through the portal, the user will immediately appear coming out of the other. Both portals act as both an entrance and an exit.

These portals are a one time use, meaning one person can completely move through before it closes (though an individual can still move through along with anything/one he is holding). Additionally, the portals only last for 10 seconds thus are required to be used within that timespan. The portals generated through Pathway can only be moved through by Elliot, the exception being that he can also take people through by somehow staying in touch as they move through the portal.

Pathway’s portals sadly aren’t invincible and can be destroyed by the mere touch of a projectile/object that isn’t accompanied by a living being. Destroying one portal automatically. Due to Elliot’s lack of training it still is extremely hard to even properly activate the semblance. It also takes quite a bit of energy, which is why he tends to only use these when deemed necessary.

The use of this semblance is mostly used as a way of positioning himself correctly on the battlefield. However, it can also be used extremely offensively when engaged in close range combat.

Reason For Declinement:
Elliot, though not the best fighter, would most likely have been capable of getting into a huntsman academy. However, he never was given the chance to apply. His parents completely forbid it and thus preventing him from chasing his dream.

Backstory:
Elliot was born to a small middle-class family in Vale, brought to life as the first and last son of his parents. Due to currently being active as a hunter Elliot’s father was barely home, leading to his mother almost permanently taking care of him while also maintaining her current job as a florist. Needless to say, the woman had it quite hard and luckily was aided by her own mother that often took care of little Elliot, a baby that had become notoriously known for being extremely whiny.

Now, Elliot didn’t really have anything to cry about back then. He had two loving parents with whom he both had a good connection, even with his father who was gone most of the time. Though loving his mother immensely, Elliot saw his father as his hero and always dreamed of becoming a hunter like him.

His dream was something he held onto tightly, refusing to even consider other careers. Elliot was and still is an incredibly stubborn child that didn’t really think about the consequences and dangers hiding behind the profession he wanted to pursue. Nevertheless, Elliot’s parents didn’t really mind his wish to become a hunter, thinking it was a brave and honorable choice.

As he grew older, Elliot proudly enrolled into combat school where he excelled at long ranged combat but showed to be quite awful when it came to close range situations. Despite doing his best, Elliot never came much farther than being considered average. He had little to no problem with this, as he knew that more practice would eventually lead him to become better.

Roughly half a year before graduating combat school, Elliot and his family were greeted by the return of his father, this time not in the most healthy shape. He had been heavily injured in battle up to the point where even atlesian technology would struggle with bringing him back into shape again. This little conflict with the painful reality lead to the decision that his father would no longer be active as a hunter. Elliot’s father was completely in shock, and that was not because of what happened to him. His 3 other teammates hadn’t been as lucky as him, having each been greeted by death.

This event caused his parents’ perception of hunters to completely change. His father started speaking extremely negatively, claiming it was a battle that they could not win in the way they currently were fighting it. No longer was he supportive of his son’s choice, afraid that he would meet the same fate as his former teammates had.

Elliot’s life changed. He was pulled out of combat school and prevented from even trying to enroll into a huntsman academy. “It’s for your own good” was the excuse used to ruin his days, and it didn’t change Elliot’s mind. He was going to become a hunter, no matter how.

And so, he waited patiently as the days passed by, hoping that one day he’d get the chance to finally become a huntsman.

Name: Cyrus Volito

Age: 16

Physical Description: Cyrus has an ego, so he wears a lot of flashy clothes. He wears a purple trench coat, yellow vest, and he carries a cane of no actual use. Roughly 5' 9" and 160 lbs. rwby_oc___team_coal___ace_spaid_by_mangarainbow-d9gd82d.jpg
Aura Color: Purple. It's about as regal you can get without being an egotistical maniac.

Weapon:pink_lightning__rwby_oc_weapon__by_jackbryanreynard-d7pput4.png
Weapon Description: Cyrus’ choice of weapons are Virtue and Glory, twin dust pistols, which when connected at the handle creates a taser-like weapon. They can shock separately, but it won't deliver much damage.

Semblance: Blinking. Cyrus can teleport a maximum of 6 feet in the blink of an eye.

Reason for Declinement: Cyrus’ prior school informed Beacon that his semblance and weapons are... dysfunctional, which could endanger the staff, students, and Cyrus himself. For the safety of the school, they had to turn him away.

Backstory: Cyrus grew up in Vale, with his dad and older brother. Being the youngest in the family, he was always trying his best to keep up. As he grew, he found himself feeling more and more hopeless in this race to be the best. His inferiority complex began to crush him. He tried a different change of pace. He put on a mask of pride and confidence and applied for the best school in the kingdom. When they didn't accept him, he felt devastated. But he couldn't just drop the act; it was part of him, with the “real Cyrus" festering inside, never to be revealed again.

Misc/Etc Info: Cyrus has Atelophobia, which is a huge drawback for him. He's constantly comparing himself to others, and if his brother shows up anywhere in the story, expect Cyrus to act irrationally.

His weapons will occasionally short-circuit and shock something Cyrus doesn't want them to. Keep a safe distance away during battle, in case he blinks toward you. Not to mention what could happen if he blinked inside of a teammate.

Name: Russet "Rusty" Aubergine
Age
: 17
Physical Description: Rusty is short. There's no getting around that. At a mere 5"3', she's easily one of Summer's shortest "students." Her rather unique hairstyle, complete with choppy bangs and a somehow upward-pointing short ponytail, only adds about an inch. Her face is nearly permanently stuck in a smug, somewhat stuck-up expression, with a gleam of confidence in her yellow eyes (which hint at her Semblance ability).
She's rather... heavily set up there, if you get my meaning.
Picture: Image For Reference
Aura Color: Red
Weapon Picture: Image For Reference
Weapon Description: The Grateful Dragon is a combination revolver and katana. In revolver mode, it is capable of firing high-impact explosive rounds at a rate of 18 per second. In katana mode, it remains capable of firing rounds; the kickback can be harnessed and used to amplify the katana mode's swings. Transformation is achieved by quickly flicking the revolver mode over the shoulder, releasing the spring that extends the katana mode's blade.
Semblance: Night Vision- Rusty's Semblance allows her to see in the dark. It triggers unconsciously whenever the light level of her surroundings reaches a certain point.
Reason For Declinement: "We regret to inform you that Russet Aubergine has been denied entrance to this Academy on the following grounds:
  • Applicant has displayed inadequacy in the arts of accurate shooting and proper sword technique.
  • Applicant has come into possession of a weapon through unlawful, immoral circumstances.
  • Applicant has demonstrated insufficient ability to control temper.
  • Applicant has shown inability to follow directions."
Backstory: Born in Vacuo to parents Brick and Peach Aubergine, Russet aspired from her earliest years to become a Huntress. Her parents, however, safety-cautious folks that they were, refused to allow her near any weapons, or any place that condoned weapons. So the combat Academies of Remnant were 100% off-limits. That didn't stop Russet; in her spare time, she took to playing around with random objects, pretending that they were full-grade Huntress weapons behind her parents' backs.
And then that phase started.
Before her parents knew it, she had gone from Russet, a sweet, caring little girl, to "Rusty," a rebellious, choker-wearing young woman. The values of her and her parents continued to clash, with Rusty wanting to be a Huntress more than ever now, but for the wrong reasons. (Her sometimes-boyfriend got accepted into Shade Academy.) Tensions came to a head when Brick found that she had outright stolen a weapon of her own, in blatant violation of her parents' no weapons policy. In a huff, Rusty decided to run away and apply for Shade.
Unfortunately, in her haste, she forgot that playing around with random objects does not make you proficient with Huntress weapons.
All the Academies she applied to told her this.
They also told her that she couldn't enroll with a stolen weapon.
And that she was too angry.
And didn't follow instructions.
Misc/Etc Info: Don't make Rusty mad. E V E R. One surefire way to do this is to call her short.

  • Unwanted.jpgName: Eisen
    Age: 16
Physical Description: At 5'11", the young man could be considered relatively tall among his peers. His clothes are well-worn and seem to only be held together by some minute needlework. His gaze seems to be one of constant contempt and disgust for what could be a myriad of reasons. His slender build, unsteady movement, and the ever-present surgical mask he wears all seem to point towards a sickly disposition. This frailness belies the iron walls he has erected around him, however.

    Aura Color: N/A

Name: Acier Annule
Age: 17

Physical Description:
Acier is unassuming and blunt, and it shows in his style and appearance. He wears duller, less bright colors. His clothes are loose-fitting, but keep him warm.
A suspicious glare and deadpan expression are ever-present to those he hasn't aquainted with yet.
Picture:
573b7c178d2f302f7083cec4f4506ec4--masked-anime-boy-levi-anime.jpg

Aura Color: Steel-Grey

Weapon Picture:
IMG_20171227_163027.jpg
Weapon Description:
His Axes, Justice and Sentence, are designed to fit together by the ends of their handles to form Punishment, an easily 7-foot double-edged axe that he can swing with enough might to stagger a building.

Semblance:
Negation; the ability to render either the semblance or aura specifically on a single target useless. Extremely helpful in combat against humanoid foes, absolutely useless against Grimm.

Reason For Declinement:
"Mr. Annule demonstrates a certain level of apathy and hopelessness when it comes to hunting the creatures of Grimm that suggests that it won't be The Darkness he'll be hunting when he graduates. His peculiar semblance backs that hypothesis up to a great extent. Why would any respectable huntsman use his abilities to attack his fellow man?
Further research on his background revealed that his home village rejected help from any huntsman around a decade ago, rendering any help from the four kingdoms or it's surrounding territories illegal. They must be coming to regret their decision to turn away help.
Such a terrible waste."

Backstory:
The village that Acier lived in was located on the rim of the border between Vale and Vacuo. Unfortunately, land is difficult to maintain, and villages around the one he lived in started to fall to the creatures of Grimm. Fearing that the territory was lost, Vale and Vacuo both withdrew their forces and set up their defenses elsewhere, leaving the rest of the villages still standing to burn.
Refusing to just wait to die, the villages joined forces, and together, fought off the creatures of Grimm. Many lives were lost, and much blood was she'd that day. Acier was seven years old at the time. Once the dust- both from the ground and from the weapons- settled, the kingdoms returned to congratulate the survivors, and moved to retake the territory after they had just waited for the villagers to die not two days before.
Outraged at the kingdom's audacity and confident in their abilities, the villages denounced the kingdoms and declared their independence, declaring their new string of warriors as Surva. Vale and Vacuo reluctantly left the villages to their own business. The Kingdoms wouldn't get involved in their business, but they also wouldn't lend any help if Surva came to regret it's decision.
Over the next decade, Surva became more and more desperate for fighters. They didn't have the assets that the kingdoms had, and they had to frequently scavenge for supplies. Eventually any child that was born was raised to be proficient in a weapon by the age of ten. They would become hunters by fifteen, and they would depart from Surva to learn to hunt Grimm by seventeen.
Unfortunately, Acier was a bit too suspicious in his behavior while he tried to sneak into Beacon, and was immediately turned down when the staff did some poking around in his files.

Misc/Etc Info:
Acier and his entire village find the kingdoms to be hypocritical and selfish, and he himself finds any act of betrayal to be absolutely unforgivable without any exception.

Name:
Beryll Buckshot

Age:
17

Physical Description:
Tall, muscular girl standing at 187 cm. She has metal silver hair and hazel eyes. Her usual outfit is a grey t-shirt, dark brown fingerless gloves, jeans, a belt, a dark green coat, and a pair of grey boots.

Picture(includes weapon/emblem):
2B87BD01-3C07-4BC2-A259-6951744BDC66.jpeg

Aura Color:
silver, with sparks of emerald green

Weapon Description:
Metallic Monster
A pair of knuckles connected to wires that can be used to assist in ranged combat. The knuckles can fire dust out of the rectangular spikes. The knuckles need dust clips loaded to fire dust. The tips of the spikes(the grey part in the emerald frames) change color to the respective dust loaded.
The wires connected to the knuckles are rolled up on simply designed bracers, which can also be used for defense.

Semblance:
Bulletproof Energetic Lady
Using a small portion of her aura, Beryll is able to cover herself in a field of concentrated aura for a short time span, rendering herself nearly invincible. The duration and strength depends on the status of her spirit and the remaining aura. Her whole body glows rapidly with her aura color for the duration.

Reason For Declinement:
Her parents were missing for the time when she was to apply.
Suspected for being involved in some minor offenses with other ‘misbehaving minors’, though she wasn’t arrested due to lack of evidence.

Backstory:
Beryll was born to a hunter father and a businesswoman mother. Her father was usually out on missions, and her mother was the type who could concentrate on her work for days without caring about anyone else. This made her spend most of her time with her uncle and his team as a baby, which made her family relationship awkward later on. When she reached 5, her father decided that she needed more care-as her uncle was a huntsman too, he couldn’t care for her 24/7- and quit his job for a while to care for her. The two somehow made things work out, and when Beryll confessed her dream of being a huntress(inspired by her uncle’s team), her father, with slight hesitation, agreed on helping her. However, things changed when she was 13. Her mother ran away with her father’s savings, and they had to get help from her uncle again. Her father, shocked, left her and disappeared, though she later found out that he went on missions like mad. There she was, her father’s brother and his friends being the only adults in charge of her(and in her point of her view, her uncle and his partner was the only mature ones). Her father rarely talked to her ever since, and she went stray until her uncle finally had a long talk with her enough to snap her back to persuing her dreams.

Misc/Etc Info:
Beryll tends to fight with her coat on, and takes it off when she gets serious.
She hates talking about her family, especially her mother.
Beryll prefers a ‘colorful’ and ‘cool’ style(in usual life and fights) which often includes explosions(in fights, of course).

Can she be, like, the big sister of the group?

  • 6th-anniversary-04-moriyama-daisuke.png
    Name: Sienna (Fiye) Roma.
    Age: 16.
Physical Description: The younger of the two sisters, Sienna Roma. is a lithely built precision hunter standing at a cumulative height of 5'6", or 167cm. She, like her elder, has a deeply saturated magenta hair colour though differentiated as Sienna's is cut into a blunt bang style. Sienna's combat attire is known for being rather odd as she wears a lengthy, thick, blue jacket reaching the back of her knees covered in odd numerical sequences along the sleeves: 750, 3rd, 6, 12, 303. Atop the jacket, she wears a hood marked with etchings of a Beowolf tapestry.

Oddly, there seems to be a semi-permanent placement of crushed asphalt along her palms.

    Aura Color: Deep Maroon.

- A sword and buckler; both of which have a very plain design. The sword belonged to her father, an officer in a ceremonial sect of the Atlas military, many years prior to Vatra's birth. The sword was crafted partially by machine and partially by hand, and the engravings along the blade are unique. The Atlesian craftsmanship means that the blade is effective, durable and light. It's length is relatively short when compared to other common swords, but is still longer than a typical dagger. The buckler, on the other hand, is a little less plain. The central hump on the miniature shield is able to be launched via a button on the handle, although it remains connected to the shield by a lengthy cord which is made to withstand heavy abuse. From there on, the buckler acts as a grappling device. The projectile launched from the buckler's center digs into whatever surface it meets and begins pulling with insane speed instantly. The center piece can be disengaged at any time. While dangerous, Vatra has mastered its use safely.

- For all the simpletons: a buckler is just a really tiny shield. It's held by a hand grip on the inside, like a normal shield, but only extends about five or six inches out; giving it a diameter of about a foot. It's mainly used for parrying attacks.

Semblance :

- Puffy Pal Paula's Phantom
- Puffy Pal Paula is a name given to Vat's childhood best friend; a white stuffed bear that she carried with her until late into her childhood. Her semblance manifested around the time that she inevitably lost the loyal friend, and the experience had a very obvious impact on the resulting power. Vatra's semblance consists of her being able to summon two spectral arms, thick and ending in bear-like paws. They're featureless and smooth, contrasting the rough fur you would expect. Her semblance is something she is embarrassed of and keeps hidden, but it's not uncommon that her emotions take control and she triggers the manifestation of the arms on accident.
- The paws aren't usually tangible, and Vatra has no way to make them tangible on command. They can only hit their target and block attacks, and are otherwise untouchable.
- They manifest when Vatra is feeling strong emotion; not on command.
- In times of sadness, the paws embrace or hide the face of Vatra.

Fighting Style :
- Vatra's fighting style is quick, consisting mainly of rapid attacks with her short sword. Her buckler helps keep the tempo of her battles up, and helps keep things interesting and new.

Backstory :
- Vatra was born to a large family in Mistral. She was one of many daughters, and, in her opinion, the better looking twin of a set. Fighting was never necessarily in her blood, but every child in their family had a defining trait and before long it was clear that fighting was hers. As a child Vatra was very upbeat and active, though that began to fade around the time she lost her beloved stuffed animal friend Paula. Her attitude became more reclusive, though she never lost respect for those around her and tried to stay as polite as possible at all times. Nonetheless, she came to be known as the 'bitch-child' of her family.

- Vatra chose seclusion over rebellion as a teen, though eventually she was driven from home after an argument with one of her neighbors. She never went back, never saw her family again, and never stopped looking forward. She saw an opportunity to apply for enrollment in Beacon academy and booked it to Vale over the course of a year, keeping to herself throughout the trip.

Reason for Declinement:
- 'Student Vatra, although initially accepted into the Academy, fell short morally during the initiation. A student witnessed her attempting to light a tree ablaze with admitted malicious intent. Although this seemed uncharacteristic, her actions were deemed unacceptable and she was removed from school grounds immediately.'
