[Disclaimer: The Title is a bit suggestive ik, I'm bad at naming but let me just say that NO there will be no erotic RP in this...Just want to quickly put that out there just in case before you continue, so don't ban me please mods

Hello RPNation! I bring to you today a Dark fantasy RP i started on another site with a different idea but with similar lore. This version was the original idea for it but i went with another idea and started with that...it got a bit far but sadly started bleeding. I saw some flaws in the version i went with and some pros with this version so i wish to try out the prototype this time . Let me start out by explaining the lore of the story

[TL;DR AT BOTTOM]

LORE

Our little story takes place in a land known as "Alderia", a land ruled over by hundreds of Human and Elven Royal Houses who have waged war on one another for centuries, trapped forever in a never ending Stalemate, wasting resources and sending both the young and old ot their doom..For what you may ask? Pride, theses lords wanted nothing more than power and respect, fighting anyone they deemed weaker than them simply to rub their ego. Lords who showed even the little bit of compassion would be targeted by neighboring kingdoms and usually be wiped out, any sign of weakness is acted on to hopefully end this stalemate that has prevented any progress.

THis war was simply called "The Vanity war" and was only the first chapter in this chaos, the next chapter was only far more troubling than the first. You see, the Vanity war is what caused this; with all the resources beign drained at a futile cause a shortage in troops began with lords being unable to crate armies capable to take on a garrison and have enough troops to defend their territory at the same time. They began conscripting villages at a rate that began a uproar int he community, the lower class citizens have had enough of being forced into this foolish war of theirs and gain nothing but a dead son or father.

Due to this shortage of military power, bands of mercenaries comprised of mostly armed peasants trained by AWOL soldiers start appearing in the thousands across the realm from all races and cultures, this is infamously known as "The War of Fortune" due to every battle in this war being fought by mercenary groups.

The royalty of the realm only saw them as ungrateful peons trying to "move up" in this world rather than stay in their modest lifestyle..But they needed troops and if theses people are willing to kill themselves for a few coin, why not? So the nobility play along and even offers some groups their own land if they work for them, maybe even make them royal knights if they prove their worth. So they sent them to fight their vanity war and kept their actual troops inside their walls for their protection.

To say the least theses rulers never kept their promises and ended up slaughtering entire bands when they come to receive their reward, refusing to honor their agreement and pay up to some lowly peasants. Of course this does not end well and they realize the error of their ways and see that they are without a army again.

Then one of the more influence rulers of the realm, King Hale IV, a human ruler then called for a end to this chaos among each, to put a end to the slaughtering of their people that their foolish ancestors put them in. The various empires and kingdoms agree to this and wish to try for a era of peace.

But something goes horribly wrong...

You see during the "War of Fortune" the people of Alderia stepped on the toes of a giant. West of Alderia is a continent not as large as Alderia..But despite its size there us a long history on this piece of land. This continent is known as "Celdrin", the natives of this land were also caught up in their own war, but compared to the wars waging in Alderia, the wars in Celdrin were far "cleaner" and "Honorable" if there was ever such a thing.

five factions are native of this land, each bond by a code of honor that dictates their every action, failure to live up to the code can result in brutal punishments that can cost you either your freedom or your life. This code of honor is what

The people of both Celdrin and Alderia have known about each others existence for awhile but never really bothered with each other during the "Vanity War", the Celdrin did not see it as their war and that they should stay on their land and keep to their honorable warfare, but they did however do trade with some of the rulers of this land for food and sometimes even purchase prisoners to work on their fields as slaves.

However when the "War of fortune" comes around and see the need for mercenary bands as a "Invitation" to be apart of the war, the five factions of Celdrin see the need to band together to combine their epic trained forces as one massive army to take on the larger war happening in Celdrin.

They sent some of their best to Alderia to represent what true warriors look like, looking for honorable Combat and a fortune they make way to Alderia to take part int he epic battles they hear stories of that happened in Alderia. Sadly they did not get what they expected, they got battles but they fought against untrained peasants that used dishonorable tactics that sacked villages and are only doing this mercenary gig because they were mistreated by their former masters due to their corruption and their Vanity war.

They were also betrayed by their employers, nobility saw them as equal to the mercenary bands made of peasants, and thus treated the same, not getting their end of the agreement and disrespected by the "Mighty" Royal bloodlines of the land.

The forces of "The Celdrin Union" boil with disgust and anger at the of Alderia, labeling the royalty as "Dishonorable savages" that need to be put down, they plagued this land with their own selfish desires for far too long. A council meeting made of the leaders of the Five factions of the Celdrin Union to discuss a drastic move, to purge the land of Alderia of this "Royalty" and bring more "Civilized war" to Alderia. When they learn of tis call for peace in Alderia, the Union of Celdrin only want to destroy them more, seeing this as them trying to run away from their dishonorable actions for a few years before going back to their savage war.

The Union of Celdrin does not even see this as them declaring war on Alderia..More like a "Purging" it and building on the ashes a new future. With the armies of Alderia small and feeble, and the well trained and massive horde belonging to Celdrin;

Your role in this

You? You are nothing, You are worth less than the dirt you work on. Thats what the Union thinks of you at least

You are a Royal heir to whatever Royal house you come from, your hold has been razed, your army wiped out and your parents killed in front of you and you are taken far form the lands familiar to you to a foreign land you know nothing about, no longer in your comfy pampered lifestyle.

Now you are on the bottom of the social class you once lived ontop of, now you are a salve to a faction that has taken everything from you, you live under a brutal leadership now that can have you killed or severely punished for some of the most simplest mistakes.

To them, YOU are the savage.

TLDR:

In this RP you will take the role of a once proud Heir to a Royal house of Alderia, whatever it be a Human, Dwarf, Beastkin, Elven or Dark elven Royal house, you lived a wonderful life, waiting for the day you take your parent's place on the throne.

Except a faction from a foreign land known as Celdrin invade all of Alderia, burns your castle down, wipes out your feeble army and slaughters your parents for the "Dishonorable" crimes they are accused of and instead of taking their place on the thone you are branded and enslaved by this group and sent to their homeland to work as a slave for them.

The Celdrin Union

The Union of Celdrin is made up of five groups who for generations fought each other with respect and honor, believing that war is meant to test the discipline and skill of the opposing force.

The Yakens

The Yakens are oddly human in appearance and can easily be mistaken as one but their rough features, strength and ruthless aggression are what tells them apart from Humans

This faction is considered to be the main leadership of the Union despite each Group being apart of a council, its just the Yaken's current leader "Huan Irow" is seen as the most influential and respected member of the council

The Yaken soldiers are all bred for war, children are selected from families to be trained as a soldier once they become of age 8, both boys and girls are then put into a brutal training process that has in fact killed some children from intense physical training. It would be a understatement to say that Yakens are Well trained, theses kids are training until they are 18 and molded into perfect soldiers capable of fulfilling any role in the heat of the moment.

They are also the founder of Celdrin's "Code of honor" which acts as the laws of the lands for each group, this is probably why the Yaken's leader is the most influential among the five

Veranites

b97d8319294fd1c1146d002cdfedd5b2.jpg

The Veranites are a very spiritual group within the Union, they are almost cult-like in their belief to a their god named "Veran" who is a orc that is idolized as a spiritual warrior that has conquered many plains of existence by himself.

Veran's secret to his combat effectiveness is his balance between anger and his serenity, finding a balance to have him be ruthless in combat but have his mind clear of any rage that would cloud his mind and render him incapable of thinking straight in severe combat situations.

Theses Orcs follow in his ancient teachings and seek to find the balance he managed to achieve, sadly many soldiers of the army struggle to find that balance and still let their Oricsh aggression to show its face. But when one of their soldiers manages to achieve a balance they becomes some of the most dangerous people to fight. Theses Combat monks are the pinnacle of the Vernaite's army.

The Jikkions

Ff12-ba-gamnan-concept.jpg

The Jikkions are a reptile like tribe who hail from the south of Celdrin; They are the fourth largest faction in the union but dispute their size their soldiers are equal to 10 CoV warriors thanks to their very tough and thick skin combined with their skill in spears and shields makes them walking walls on the battlefield

Their skill is not only in combat, this tribe is also the main contributor to the Union's naval forces, half of the entire Union's naval is made up of Jikkion vessels. Theses vessels were not only used for war, but for trade! Yes, the Union actually was active the Alderia economy by mostly purchasing prisoners of lords to work as slaves in Union lands.

The Fol'a

Torgal_image.jpg

Reknowned for their Four arms, the Fol'a are masters of swordplay and close quarters combat, not favoring open combat the Fol'a are very good at taking on multiple opponents in tight spaces. They favor a defense over a offensive and are considered the most patient of all the other groups apart of the Union.

Alot of their culture was influenced by the Yaken's code of Honor and discipline. The only difference with their cultures is that the Fol'a does not devote all of its resources to war and actually leads in Philosophy and Mathematics, able to construct siege engines for the Union to use...Theses come in handy during the invasion you can tell.

The Ohrions

The Ohrions are shrouded in mystery as nobody from Alderia has any idea who or what they are. they are only listed as a member of the Union but outside of that no soldier has even been spotted from this race.

Only the people native from Celdrin have any idea if this group even exists, but they refuse to say anything about who they are or what they do for the Union. Rumors around Alderia start sparking up that they are the true rulers of the Union and stories to scare little children are made about how the Ohrions are hideous monsters that come to kill naughty boys and girls

Are there only humans and elves?
I want to keep it simple because i don't want 20 different playable races that would complicate things, and the Union already made up of five different races not native to Alderia. Which are Orcs, Reptilian tribe, race of four armed creatures and a mysterious race that i want to keep in the shadow at the start.

So the only playable race are elves and humans?

Alright So limiting though >.<

Id be willing to add more races if you have a suggestion but again i don't want to have that many playable races to complicate things otherwise we would have a gigantic mess. I wanna try and keep things neat

Thats however does not mean other races do not exist in Alderia.

Simple races then that don't need much explanation.

Humans - Well...I'm assuming none of us are oak trees so we might know what they are.

Elves - Tall, beautiful, proper, an in tune with nature. Simple.

Dark Elves - Ditto above yet with darker skin and less nature loving and more dark arts.

Dwarfs - Short an' sturdy and could down more ale that three human men without getting a buzz. These miners are more resilient than most though their height can be an issue.

Beastkin* - Made from an elven experiment gone wrong, they are a cross breed of select mammals with an elf. They used to resemble a large beast walking upon two legs those with interbreeding and the corse of evolution, they have been brought down to a more human-esc appearance with only one identifying trait, this usually being eyes, ears, or tail.

*Other limitations can be set upon them as well such as if magic is possible they cannot possibly learn it due to being a hybrid and can only be realistic animals(those not extinct and mythical.) They also would be highly sought after becuase if you were part bear, physical labor would be a breeze and most would be resilient to certain common diseases.

I can come up with others if you would like me too! ^^

i Keep thinking dark elves are pretty much in the same groupa s normal elves but i guess im wrong there...Dwarfs and Beastkin can make sense, alright i will allow them in too, thanks mate

Popori - What most of the other races call Poporis are actually several distinct peoples, each one having different appearances. Several things they all share in common, though:

-Anthropomorphic animals

-Despite resembling animals, they all stand on their hind legs

-Only resemble mammals

-They range from two feet tall to eight feet tall

Already covered this with Beastkin. ^^

Beastkin is more humans with a few animal aesthetics because it appears that they were brought down to looking almost human.

I did that because most roleplays allowing full anthro animals have no one else playing elves or humans. Plus you have to look at it from a logical point of view. If they were disliked because they were technically animals, wouldn't evolution do them a favor?

Scylla said:
Meh, I usually don't like playing as a kemonomimi.
That's the point! Trying to give an option with the necessary limitations so people would actually consider playing something else.

I feel like I'm being logical, though not many people understand my thought process. -shrug-

I was thinking that the Poporis could be accustomed to not being taken seriously, like the playable race of the same name in TERA I'm basing them off of. Oh well...

Alright, sounds interesting.

QUESTION! Is it OK if I play as an anthro? If not, I'll try to play as a beastkin.

Look above, it's already been stated that beastkin is the only available animalistic race.
