The weather is just starting to cool, and the royals and bodyguards

after arriving in the [made-up] country of Astaria.
Now they've been left in the ballroom to "get to know each other"

Anita.( _amaranth_ _amaranth_ )
What the hell was going on here? That was the only thought swirling around in Kira's mind as she'd waltzed out of the meeting room. Her first instinct had been to march right out of the palace, find her own way home and just say fuck it. But at the last second, she'd turned and headed for the ballroom, realizing she didn't want to be alone. In the meeting, she'd been unable to talk with the other royals, her best friend Anita that she hadn't seen in years included. Seeing her friends face sitting at that table had been a shock to Kira, but it was nothing compared to the news that the two of them, along with two other royals, were being sent on a quest with four bodyguards. Four strangers that they didn't even know, who were likely in one this for their own personal gain. This whole thing was fucked!

Kira felt uneasy for a multitude of reasons. Not only was someone going to be assigned to her that she didn't even know, but she and the others were going on this journey to find these artifacts that no one even really knew about. They had a list and descriptions of the artifacts, along with clues to their last locations and where they might be today, but that was a big might in Kira's opinion. The Russian princess knew that her father was still angry that she was pretty much a bastard child, and alongside that he was the only heir left since her brother and sister's death. Their deaths still weighed heavily on all of their hearts, and Kira knew this, but in her mind that didn't excuse the way she'd been treated ever since her childhood.

Scoffing at the direction her thoughts had gone, Kira turned away from the window just in time to see one of the bodyguards enter the room. Crossing her arms over her chest, she watched him for a moment. Their eyes met but neither one said anything to the other. He was Russian, too. A man of few words, or at least he had been in the meeting. But she'd heard his accent the one time he did speak and naturally she recognized it. But currently, the blonde wasn't in any mood to talk, so she just moved to one of the nearby chairs and collapsed into it. The bodyguard paid her little mind as he stood by one of the windows on the other side of the room, but for lack of anything better to do, Kira kept watching him.

Movement from the doorway caught her eye and Kira turned her attention that way, breathing a sharp sigh of relief when she recognized Anita coming in through the door. "Thank god." Kira muttered, pushing herself to a standing position, crossing the room quickly. Her heels clicked along the polished floors as she opened her arms, wrapping them around her Spanish friend and pulling her close. "I've missed you." She breathed into Ani's ear, holding her tight for a minute before she pulled back, a wide grin on her face. "You've definitely grown, my spanish sestra [sister]." She winked at Ani before she let her go completely, tugging her away from the door. "Did you know about this? Any of this?"

All Andrei could ask himself was why the hell he'd agreed to do this. Sure, when he was approached, getting the hell out of prison and getting all of his charges practically erased sounded wonderful. But now that he was here, out of Russia and in the country of Astaria, he couldn't help but wonder if he'd made a mistake. In prison, at least the food-- though it was awful-- was almost guaranteed. Most of the time. He had a roof over his head, exercise equipment, books to read if he got bored enough... But of course, there was also the constant having to watch his back, because getting shanked in prison was not high on his to-do list. Maybe he'd been a little too willing to give all that up.

But either way, he was out and here now, and there was no turning back. He'd sat around that table in the meeting room with all the others, listening carefully to the words of the King as he made the annoucement, telling everyone what the plan was. He'd assigned the bodyguards to the royals, and Andrei had carefully studied his new charge. He wasn't quite sure what to make of her, or the others. But to be fair, everyone had been fairly silent. At first. The princess from his home country had been the first to speak up afterwards, complaining in very colorful language about how this wasn't fair to any of them. Not that Andrei thought she cared that much about his own kind, honestly.

After she'd been shut down she spun on her heel and left the room, and a few others had followed. Andrei stayed until they were dismissed and only then did he stand, making his way from the room. They'd been instructed to make their way to the ballroom where they could congregate until the finishing touches were made. Still a little unsure about how all this was supposed to work, Andrei just sighed and did as he was told. Even though blindly following orders went against everything he knew and believed in, he knew that now he had no choice. Or at least not a good one. Scowling, he made his way into the ballroom, only finding the blonde Russian there. They met each others gaze but said nothing.

Turning to the window, Andrei remained still until he heard someone else enter the room. He turned enough to see the Spanish princess enter. The blonde rose to greet her quickly, then tugged her away from the door. He found it interesting that they seemed to know each other, but definitely not impossible. He watched them out of the corner of his eye until someone else entered, and he turned to see who it was. He knew he wasn't the last to leave the room, so he'd wondered where everyone else had gone if they hadn't come straight here. Would any of them try to run? What would happen if they did? Honestly, the thought had crossed Andrei's mind as well, but should he be caught again... well, let's just say for now, following orders was the safer option.

Anita Villareal

with: Kira ( Goldieloxx Goldieloxx ) | location: Main Ballroom | outfit: click!

“Is everything to your satisfaction, Your Highness?” An annoying sleazy voice pierced Anita’s ears, while she was rocking her head in the palm of her hand and watching the clouds outside. No, nothing was to her satisfaction. She desperately needed a glass of bourbon, preferably Michter’s Celebration Sour Mash. But daddy dearest made sure that the plane of Spanish Air Force got rid of everything and there was not a single drop of alcohol on board. As if she was some notorious drinker. And then, he knew very well she hated flying and one glass would simply calm her nerves. Or did he?

It would be no surprise if his Majesty King Cristiano II had no idea about his daughter’s habits and fears. The Spanish Royal Family was picture perfect. But only in those pictures. Other than that, nannies and tutors knew more about the Princess than her own parents. They only saw what the tabloids offered and for some reason, they refused to look past that. And no amount of good behavior and charity work would show them that Anita was not such a big troublemaker as the press described. And then there was the damn photo…

“Yeah, sure…” she growled back at the attendant and he left her to her thoughts. No wonder her parents thought she was a problem child. She has always been cautious, many times, she even masked herself for an ordinary girl. But one time she tries to snort. One fucking time. And they take a picture. There is press in a private room. And there is no better time to reveal it than during the official dinner. Great. Just peachy.

“We are going to land in a while, Your Highness. Please, put on a seatbelt.” the attendant told her and with a deep sigh, Anita did as told. One of those very few times. It really didn’t take long and the plane landed on the small private airport in Astaria. And from there, she was escorted right to the black SUV which would drive her to the place where she was going to spent the following month alongside some other “naughty” royals. Well, at least Kira was going to be there…

The car drive was very similar to her flight. Only there were buildings swishing by the window, not clouds. She didn’t talk to the driver, there was no need. And what would she even tell him? Oh, please. She needed her drink and…damn, she would give anything for a nice blunt right now but no, she was a Princess. The Princess of Spain. ‘I’m warning you, Anita, I hear about one misstep. Just one…’ The voice of her father sounded in her head and the fact that he didn’t even finish the sentence was terrifying so she had to make do with what she had.

As expected, the was a load of press in front of the building so Anita put on her best smile on those red lips and got out, waving, posing for a few pics and got inside where she finally could loosen the smile and walked to the main ballroom. Her heels clicked on the marble floor and she snatched a flute of champagne on her way which she finished by the time she entered the room. She was immediately greeted and enveloped in a hug and her hands automatically went around Kira. “Years have been good to you, hermanita.” Ani returned the praise and the girls exchanged a few small sentences. “I had no idea. Father simply said I was going to learn my lesson so here I am. What’s even happening here anyway?” she asked and looked around. “And where the hell is everyone else? You can’t tell me we are the only naughty royals out there.”

Ooh ha ha
Lucy Weasley.jpgThe Crowed Princess of Ukraine, Alina Aleksandria Volk had not said one word since landing in the country of Asteria. A part of her was fuming, after all, her parents hadn't so much as told her why she was being sent away much less where too. That was all something she had to find out along the way. The other part however, was anxious. Why where they doing this? Had she done something wrong? For years, Alina had been nothing but perfect for her family. She'd always attended her lessons, was always well-behaved, always perfect.

Sure, she'd snuck out a few times... and sometimes slept in way later than she was supposed too. And maybe she was a little too clumsy for her own good. But what she lacked in grace and time management she always made up for and they knew that. Had they known about her adventures outside the palace walls after all? Had Marie told them? No. Alina knew she'd never do that. Marie had been the one to suggest it. "It's not fair that you have to be locked away from your own country." Is what she had said. And she was right. How did her parents expect her to inherit the throne if she had never so much as stepped foot off the property.

Another royal in the room, The Princess of Russia, Alina noted, had spoken up but was ultimately turned away. She had a point though. Why were they being asked to do this? The artifacts might be where the clues say. If not? Were they just going to have to take a guess? Not to mention the royals were being assigned bodyguards to protect them. Alina had given the man assigned to her a quick once over before directing her attention elsewhere. She wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea of a stranger protecting her. Heck, what if he changed his mind and decided to go home after the meeting. Or worse, what if he somehow found out- what if anyone in this room found out the secret. Alina had stopped going on television with her parents after she had turned twenty, the last anyone had even seen her was her eighteenth birthday. She had been tired of answering the same questions of what was expected of her and what she planned to do after she inherited the throne.

Alina pushed the negative thoughts away, no use thinking those things right now. Not when there were bigger issues to worry about. The princess rose from her seat, hesitating for only a moment before following everyone out of the room. She stood outside the ballroom doors as she collected her thoughts.

"No frowning," her mother would say, "...no one wants a cold leader."

"Remember Lina," her fathers voice echoed, "...be careful."

If only he had meant that about her well-being and not accidently revealing who she was.

Alina's frown morphed into a warm smile. She held herself as a princess would, her eyes facing directly in front of her. She couldn't look scared, couldn't look lost and, most importantly, couldn't trip. Though that was easier said than done. Only when she was sure she had marked everything on her mental checklist off did she actually enter the ballroom.

As of now, only three people had shown up. Two of the royals, and the bodyguard Alina had been assigned too. She weighed the options in front of her carefully. On one hand, she could introduce herself to the two royals and maybe befriend them? Although, they appeared to be in the middle of a discussion and she wasn't sure if interrupting them would be right. Alina glanced once again to the man in charge of her life. He appeared to be annoyed, and he had every right to be annoyed given their predicament. Plus, it's only fair she introduce herself so he knows who he's protecting.

Her mind finally made up, Alina marched across the room towards the man.

"Hello, I'm Alina, " Alina avoided looking at him directly, instead opting to look just off to the side. She held her hand out for him to shake, "It's nice to meet you sir."

The initial meeting droned on and on about the expectations and rules the supposed ‘bodyguards’ and their respective royals were supposed to follow. Why the hell he was chosen for this mission was beyond him. Maybe he was chosen for the type of work he did in the military? Or maybe his government knew he didn’t steal all those millions of dollars, on purpose anyway, and wanted to give him an out while still having someone to blame for the heist of the century? Either way, he was thankful for the opportunity to cut his sentence short, and tried his best to pay attention before his eyes began to get heavy, accidentally dozing off through the closing summary.

Sleep wasn’t the easiest to come by when you were known as a thief and a military defect in prison, but the plush chairs were so comfortable compared to the concrete floor his cell guard forced him to sleep on the last few weeks leading up to his departure, having had his bed removed from the cell entirely. The security in the prison were mostly die hard military men and women who had a hard on for him; being the only dishonorable discharge had its ‘perks’, he guessed. A hard thud to the back of his head awoke him suddenly, his eyes meeting with those around him beginning to stand before he realized the briefing was over. “Thank, god.” His words seeped through a sleepy yawn and an attempt to stretch before standing to follow the others out. He couldn’t help but to take in the scenery from beyond the tree line he spotted outside of a far window, the pale blue sky and fluffy white clouds offering him a sense of comfort in an otherwise disagreeable situation. He didn’t care what this weird mission turned itself into, he just couldn’t wait to be outside without a pair of cuffs confining him.

A sigh of relief left his lips as the tight shackles were finally removed near the door of the next Astarian conference room, the metal clanking with an echo onto the beautiful flooring beneath him, offering one last attempt at embarrassment from his keeper as the others shuffled past him into the room. He could feel a few pairs of eyes watching the exchange as he rubbed the red marks left on his wrists, the guard then leading him by his bicep down the long hallway. “Now be a good little soldier or I’ll make sure you never see the light of day again, in solitary.” The all too familiar threatening condescension rang in his ears as a harsh push to his back sent him through the doors of the next room, where they were all advised to wait for further instruction. With a silent roll of his eyes, Cal straightened himself out - smoothing down his jacket quickly as he cleared his throat. “Dick.” He muttered under his breath as he started toward the seat furthest from the entryway, finally free.

Max McPherson

with: everyone in there | location: Main Ballroom | outfit: click!

The air was cold and damp, this strange feeling like death was hanging in the air and the whole atmosphere was rather grim and unwelcoming. Loud clangs against metal sounded all over the place and the bangs were one of those that tore you out of your sound sleep, causing goosebumps spring all over your skin. If you even slept. If you were brave enough to close your eyes and let the dreams take you away from the cruel reality in which this kind of courage could mean you were dead. Finally and permanently dead with a makeshift shiv sticking from your bleeding throat.

Max blinked a few times to get that image away from his mind and tried to focus on the scenery outside of the window. The car rushed across the country, offering views of the most beautiful nature Maxwell had ever seen and yet, he could not stop thinking about his time in hell. Cops were not welcome in prison. Whether loyal or crooked, they were cops. And the crooked ones? They were despised as they were believed not to have a shred of loyalty in them. When Max entered the gen pop in the New Arc Penitentiary, he was greeted with so much anger and hatred he was sure he would not last the night. Thankfully, it was his brain that got him out of the precarious situation and loyal to his old habits, he started working for the resident boss, being the best adviser he could be.

When the opportunity was presented to him, Max jumped for it. He would have been dumb as fuck not to accept. This was a rather sweet deal. All he had to do was keep some royal ass safe during some sort of journey. He could do that. He was smarter than any of the fuckers there, confident beyond belief and his training made him a powerful weapon. There was nothing that could go wrong here and Max was sure. One princess couldn’t give him way too much trouble. After all, there was no need to even interact, what for? He would just be there to supervise. Kind of a babysitting job if you asked him but Max could definitely do it.

The car finally stopped in front of some sort of luxurious overdone building. Max got out and waited for the officer to join his side. Only then the two walked inside. The place was larger than Max’s home and he looked around, whistling quietly when his gaze fell upon the rich decoration, paintings which were most definitely originals and all kinds of that rich people bullshit around. It made Max scoff softly over that. “Now listen, McPherson. You gotta remember one thing. You’re nothing but a worthless piece of shit now and your ass is mine. One misstep. Just one. And you’re gonna rot in solitary until you’re nothing but a rat-bitten dirty corpse, you got me?” the officer hissed, looking slightly up at the tall man by his side. “Sir, yes, Sir.” Max replied with a gentle smirk tugging on his lips. There was no point in provoking the U.S. Marshall. Not now when his freedom was so close.

With a rough shove, Max fell inside the room, muttering curses. Looking around, he saw a few people already there and judging by their looks, he assumed the three girls were the princesses. One of them was already talking to some tattooed dude over there and considering his ward was the Russian girlie, he assumed it was not the olive-skinned dark-haired beauty over there but rather her blonde friend. There was another guy sitting alone and Max sighed. There seemed to be no one to tell them what to do and for now, there were not even all participants of this trip. Walking to the back, the to-be-bodyguard plopped in one seat, regretting not having a pack of smokes on him. “Does anyone know when does this bullshit begins?” he asked out loud, no one in particular. Not the best icebreaker out there but it should get him even more attention than the disapproving look from the Spanish heir to the throne.

horrorshow

black magic and cigarettes
The conference had ended, leaving Etienne with more questions than answers.

Things had been tumultuous, to say the least, concerning Etienne's relationship with his parents for the last several years. Still, this particular instruction had come as a total surprise. While his life was not comparable to that of a common person with common pursuits, he had never expected something so extravagant. His general distrust of his parents intentions had him on edge, but what choice did he have besides to comply?

Traveling itself wasn't the issue, traveling as Etienne was the issue. The constant watchful eyes and lack of any personal time or space was exhausting. He had no truly negative thoughts toward the entourage of protective figures that surrounded him from day to day, but there was no arguing he was an introvert. This entire situation went directly against the creature comforts of the lifestyle he had thus far tried to cultivate for himself.

However, it did not prove to be all bad. While traveling to Astaria had been filled with moments of relative annoyance, from his parents critiquing the chosen wardrobe he'd packed, to the flight being entirely devoid of any good wine (his taste was far more expensive than the rest of the royal household, sometimes he felt he was the only true Frenchman in the family), there was some intrigue upon arrival. Etienne couldn't even pretend he wasn't a nosey guy, and being informed of what felt, at least to a degree, like classified information had filled him with excitement at first.

The moments following directly after the conference had hit him with a bitter taste of reality. Once the commotion was over, the questions set in. His parents told him often that he was far too quick to conspire and be untrusting, but none of this was making any sense.

It did not strike him as particularly odd that he had been assigned a personal bodyguard. That he'd never heard of her, or been told anything about any of this ahead of time, however, was the concern. He regretted, as he exited the conference room, that he had been as quiet as he had been. He had thought it more respectable to remain silent and appear as though he was taking in the information in as much detail as possible. He wanted to appear collected and informed. However, there was a creeping anxiety that he might have conducted himself with a little more participation than he had initially offered.

He recognized the other royalty, not because he had any relationship with them on a personal level, but because it was important to know and identify other world leaders- the only one he had known on any real level was the Spanish princess and seeing her had brought him at least a small comfort during the uncertainty of the conference.

Now, the prince realized, he was going to be entirely out of his element- even though he had spent a lifetime pretending to enjoy social events. He hoped his entry into the ballroom would go mostly unnoticed, but the vast expanse of the room itself made it very obvious how few people there actually were involved in this strange event.

My parents really were hoping to punish me for something. He supposed, They know I hate getting to know people.

Hoping to remain relatively unnoticed, unless he had the opportunity to speak to the only other royalty he recognized, Etienne placed himself close to a window. There he tried to look out and take in as much as he could of his surroundings. To his knowledge, he had never been to Astaria, and he was sad he wasn't getting to know the country better while he was here. Maybe that would change, but he knew it probably wouldn't.

It was obvious, from the way her feet dragged against the polished marble, a guard at her back, that she was not here of her own volition.

They had only pulled the cuffs off once she had been taken to a conference room within the handsomely crafted building, though they served no purpose but to put on the show of prisoner and guard. The air was stale, the air conditioning circulating old air within the windowless room. There her purpose, or the purpose they seemed to have found for her was finally explained and Kwan only watched the thick-lips of the presenter flap, the words falling from them lost to her. Long fingers picked at the loose thread on her cuff, the soft, worn cotton of the sweatshirt cocooning her in warmth.

She worries over her siblings, cringing at the thought that her mother’s found the box of cash under her bed and has spent it all on crack and booze. But the speaker manages to finish just as the image of her mother, bony and thin, passed out on the couch passes from her mind and she’s tugged up from her chair, pushed into a spacious ballroom.

It is only then that she realizes how alone she is.

The room is bright. It highlights the intricate stonework, the high ceilings, the expensive material of designer clothes. Her own clothes, worn with a rip at the back of her knee, feel dirty and impure in this pristine environment and she unconsciously crosses her legs, covering the ragged hole. The only korean, the only activist, the only person who’s here simply because the authorities don’t want to have another reason for the media to highlight the protests and riots that have seemed to swallow the attention of the entire world. Instead they drop her off here, in Astaria, with the vague promise of protecting her family and the lie that she's on a government provided trip to soothe the hunger of the media.

She desperately needs her jacket, needs the white letters to act as armor, but instead she pushes further in, fingers digging into the pockets of her hoodie.

As his fingers fidgeted with a loose thread he'd pulled from the sleeve of his jacket, Cal took an occasional look up at the others in the room in an attempt to assess the royalty and guards he'd be working beside. His eyes first met with the Spanish brunette he'd been informed that he was assigned to in the initial meeting. She was speaking with the blonde Russian who seemed to be an acquaintance, if not a friend. He wondered if he should introduce himself, or if she would even care if he did, but he didn't want to interrupt their conversation.

After quickly making the internal decision that it'd be the gentlemanly thing to do whether she minded or not, his gaze drifted through the rest of the room. Spotting the other Russian princess's introduction to her noticeably vexed guard, he watched for a short moment. Cal wasn't always the best at reading people, but he could tell the girl wasn't comfortable. It almost seemed as though she didn't belong. He pondered what she could have done to end up in this ballroom, nearly full with black sheep and convicts. Eyes finding the floor again, he sighed and stood from his seat as he finally ripped the thread from his sleeve and tucked it into his pocket.

His feet scuffed along the expensive flooring as he paced back and forth, listening in and out of the few conversations taking place around him - and taking note of those who chose to remain silent.

After some time, Cal crossed his arms and attempted eye contact with the Spanish princess once more. Realizing her conversation was slightly dulling, he stepped toward the duo and awaited another pause so as to not be entirely rude. "Sorry for the interruption." He stated this blankly as he glanced at the blonde, extending his hand to the other. "I just wanted to introduce myself before we get this show on the road… Cal."

The fact that Anita was here made Kira feel a little bit better, but honestly not much. It was absolutely incredible to see her long lost Spanish sister after all this time, but Kira had looked around at the meeting before this, trying to judge the others who were sitting at the table. They'd seemed to been explained the bare bones of the situation; they were going on some journey for some artifacts with a stranger watching their back. It would be a lie to say that Kira had never tried to get rid of her security detail before, but at least she'd known of them. The man who would be guarding her now was nothing more than a stranger, and not one who seemed interested in being anything more than a babysitter.

Ugh.

Kira turned her attention back to Anita as she pulled back from the hug, a bright smile on her lips at the Spanish princesses compliment. "Naughty royals?" Kira echoed the phrase, a smirk tugging at her lips. "I like the sound of that." She winked at Ani as others started filing into the room, one by one. Her attention drawn to them, Kira tilted her head slightly. "My guardian seems to be a little bit of a spitfire." She smirked again as she looked back at Ani, crossing her arms over her chest. Eventually, all eight of them were gathered in the room, though Ani's bodyguard was the first to approach the two of them. He met Kira's gaze with a hardly there apology, extending his hand to Ani.

"I'll let you two get acquainted." She winked at Ani before she slipped away from the two of them, looking around the room. Her eyes landed on Max, and she decided to approach him. "I see nobody answered your question." She started, stopping just a few feet away from him. "But that's probably because we're about as in the dark as your are." Shrugging one delicate shoulder, she looked around, gesturing to the others with her hand. "Look around, doll. Do any of us really know what's going on? They fed us bare bones, and now we're expected to put our trust in strangers." She turned back to Max, placing a hand on her hip as she gave him a onceover. "I'm Kiravera Morozov. But call me Kira. To say that Andrei wasn't interested in making friends would be an understatement, but he was also not foolish enough to think that he could do any of this on his own. He had to be able to put his trust in someone, though as of right now, he wasn't sure just who that someone would be. He didn't approach the Russian princess when he stepped into the room, but thankfully, she didn't approach him either. Another princess entered the room, Spanish if he had to guess. Hearing her greeting to the Russian confirmed his theory, but he made sure not to look at the two of them directly, focusing instead on seeing who entered the room.

Princess, bodyguard, bodyguard... Andrei wasn't looking directly at the door, but he could see when Alina approached him and he could hear her footsteps. His eyes slid over in her direction as she stopped in front of him, looking deep into her eyes before he dropped his gaze to her hand. For a moment, he considered not shaking it. He was her bodyguard, that much he knew from the meeting. But other than that, he didn't know a thing about her, other than her name now. "Alina." He repeated, his accent heavy. After another moment, he took her hand and gave it a firm shake before dropping it. "We both know nothing about this is nice. And don't... don't call me sir."

His eyes flicked up to the rest of the room where everyone else had seemed to gather now. One of the other guards snapped out loud, causing Andrei to want to roll his eyes. He resisted for now, heaving a small sigh instead as he looked back at Alina. She was beautiful, not that that mattered much. "You don't look much like a black sheep." He told her finally, lifting a brow as he gazed down at her. "Makes one wonder what you've done to end up here." He didn't ask, not directly, but if she were to share with him that would be her own decision. "Makes one wonder what anyone did to end up here." He muttered, this time mostly to himself as he straightened. "Are you good with any sort of weapon, princess?"

Seeing Kira was a true sight for sore eyes. Being sent to this conference was nothing like Anita wanted and she could also imagine a plenty of different punishments for her antics. First of all, she expected her father to speak to her, to let her explain what happened and let her defend herself. Instead, his royal assness Cristiano decided that she was a problem child and so she was shipped off to Astaria to roam around the woods and search for some trinkets that meant nothing to her. Seriously, what the hell? And top her whole humiliation off, she was getting a bodyguard. Not that she was not used to people guarding her but why couldn’t Federico go with her instead? No, she was getting a stranger to follow her ass all day. Wasn’t that absolutely peachy?

What she didn’t know was who else was going to be there. So when Kira came to hug her, Ani had never felt happier to see a friendly face. “Of course, were naughty. Why else would we be sent here? If this was a musical, we could be now singing Rotten to the Core or Ways to Be Wicked.” Anita laughed, measuring Kira head to toes. “You look great though, hermanita. Years have been good to you.” she winked, regretting deeply that she and Kira had not met earlier. Apparently, their parents felt it was better this way. What the hell they know?

When Kira pointed out her bodyguard, Ani turned her head to see and smirked. “But he also does look yummy so I say you go enjoy.” she purred, eyeing the man sitting on his own. “If you don’t, I might.” But before she managed to get into anything else, the girls were interrupted by a newcomer. He was lurking around them for a moment before speaking up but Ani decided not to be her true self and call him out immediately. Only when he spoke to her and Kira, she realized it was her guardian introducing himself.

Ani’s eyes scanned the handsome man in front of her and she almost didn’t hear Kira. Her small delicate hand slipped in Cal’s and her lips curled into a luscious smile. “Anita. My pleasure.” she spoke in a soft tone, offering his hand a gentle squeeze while her dark chocolate eyes never left his. “Wanna tell me what you did to be sent here? I promise not to tell anyone else.” A flirty glimmer appeared in her eyes, something that she sometimes did without her wanting to. Many people could tell stories. Not that the princess felt any remorse.

Max McPherson

with: Kira ( Goldieloxx Goldieloxx ) | location: Main Ballroom | outfit: click!

Seeing this whole setting with royals, old luxurious building, one chair more expensive than his whole apartment, Max wanted to laugh. This was apparently what was important on the other side of the society. And maybe he was just a hypocrite, right? Because he traded a lot to be comfortable in his own life. But granted, not even working for mafia was as beneficial as being born with a small pretty tiara on one’s head. Or a crown, in case of the only prince in the room. Max was only here so he would not have to return to prison because do you even have any idea what they do to cops in there? Especially to crooked ones?

The man took a seat and noticed there was no one around him. People seemed to be minding their own business at first and it was only understandable. Eight of them were forced together and being sent on some sort of wild goose chase. In case of Max and three others, not only they were about to stumble across some forest, they would also have to make sure nothing bad happened to the four pampered asses of the various royals. Peachy, if you asked him.

His question went unanswered which only elicited a soft scoff from his lips. Or maybe they just didn’t hear. Damn, he would give his left kidney for a cigarette now. How did it even work? Were they allowed to smoke here? Or at all? Because if someone told him he could not make the royal mouse make smell like an ashtray, he was ready to break their jaw. Damn, he was experiencing a cruel withdrawal from nicotine. And whiskey too, he would love a glass. Neat, please.

But the train of his thoughts was torn when a girl approached him. The blonde pretty little thing he was supposed to take care of like a precious egg. Max looked up, sporting his signature smirk as she talked and he nodded. “Doll? I see.” Max commented, focusing on the wrong part of her words. She went on and introduced herself to him to which Max stood up, towering over her. While the princess only stopped a few feet away from him, Max now erased that distance and stood almost touching her. “Pleased to meet you, Kiravera Anastasia Morozov of Russia. It bit long for my taste if you asked me. Not the only thing I know about you, doll.” he grinned, taking her hand in his, placing a soft kiss on top of it. It was more a theatrical than affectionate gesture though. “I did my homework, your highness. I’m Max. Detective Maxwell McPherson if you want. At your service for the whole trip.”

Ooh ha ha
Lucy Weasley.jpg"Well," Alina's hand dropped to her side, "What should I call you?" She looked at him expectantly before scanning the rest of the room. From what she could see, more people had entered, a couple more bodyguards and one other royal from the looks of it. The two princesses from earlier had parted ways, now introducing themselves to their respective guards, one of whom, Alina had heard ask a question seconds before. It wasn't like anyone could've answered it, they were all being left in the dark. She'd be surprised if anyone here actually had an idea.

Alina turned her attention back to her own guard. She'd never seen someone as... intimidating as him, and she'd met some scary royals in her twenty-three years of life. Was it the tattoos maybe? Her parents had always monitored who came and left the palace walls, if they didn't think the visitor would be worth Alina's time, they'd send them away. This guard would have definitely been sent away. Maybe this is what interested Alina, that her parents were okay with a such a person guarding their precious girl.

And then he said it. What could she have possibly done to end up here? Alina's eyes widened for only a moment before she composed herself once again. It was a normal question, he hadn't meant any harm from it. Just looking around the room Alina knew it was true. She'd heard stories about the Princess Kiravera and Anita, she was aware of their not so great streak. And, none of the guards looked like they had come from a good background exactly. Alina was fairly positive she had seen a couple arrive in handcuffs. She felt just as out of place as she had at home.

"I've got my suspicions." She shrugged, "How about you? Why did you agree to this?" Alina wasn't expecting a whole hearted answer or anything, but it was very clear the guards had a bit more to gain than the royals. After all, there was a reason they were chosen.

Alina raised an eyebrow at the guards question. "Weapons?" She paused, thinking over her words, "...no, I don't. However, if you ever want to learn ballet, I'm your Princess."

Cal Durand

His lips curled themselves into a genuine smile as Anita's eyes met his. He'd wanted to hold her gaze but the accent that rolled off her tongue was nothing, if not sultry. Cal caught a glimpse of something in her eye as she questioned his reasoning for being herded here with the rest of them. Is she flirting with me? His eyebrow cocked slightly when he noticed her hand lingering slightly, taking it upon himself to end the handshake as he opened the distance between them for the blonde to squeeze through. "Well, Anita.." He sighed internally, simultaneously taking a mental note of her name as he pondered the correct way to disclose his crime. How did everyone here know so little of each other, much less the job they were sent to do? Being a young royal and having to entrust your self in the hands of a stranger... He couldn't imagine the vulnerability some of them must be feeling. Truthful, and forthright was his decision with revealing his biggest mistake to date.

Cal's eyes flashed around the room once again, taking in the same people and their distances from him - an anxious tick resulting from his stay in the beautiful cement walls of a federal prison, one he was sure he wouldn't be able to shake any time soon. "I robbed a bank... Technically." He let out a soft, albeit nervous, laugh before attempting to explain further. The hand that shook hers subconsciously brought itself to rub the back of his neck in a sort of embarrassment. "I was deployed and given orders to protect the money, and then more orders from someone else to transfer the bills to a new location. Long story short, new orders were apparently not from the U.S. military." Another timid laugh left his lips, though it could have been confused with just a breath of air. He didn't know much about the princess herself, or any of the others if he was honest. His years spent doing the time didn't assist with keeping up on any social or political changes. But he was sure his story had to sound too crazy for anyone to believe. Wrong place, wrong time? Pfft. Yeah, right. Everyone and their mother had heard that one before.

He scratched his head a bit before plunging his hands into his pockets once again, a casual heir forever surrounding him. No amount of discipline or boot camp could have ever taken that from him. "You can tell whoever you want, princess." The nickname rolled off his tongue in an alluring tone, and his shoulders raised in a shrug as he brought himself only slightly closer, as if to reveal a hushed secret. He'd be lying to himself if he didn't admit that his was the most attractive royal in the room to him, and he'd intended to at least have some fun here while hunting for whatever buried treasure they were being sent for. Besides, he wasn't entirely sure that his government wasn't just lying to him to get him out into the field and do the job, just to send him back to his cell upon returning home. He'd hoped that wasn't the case, but the United States weren't always the most truthful in their endeavors... "It's public record anyway." Leaning back, he threw a wink her way, his smirk remaining clear.
