~Great minds think Differently~
While she knew that the usual role of student often meant that she would have to do things she didn't want to do this was one thing that she never really figured on having to do. What thing was that? The thing that she never figured she would have to do was move to a school that wasn't the one she was accustomed to, her having to move to another school due to family matters. The exact family matters however were not really serious but she was still a bit bummed that she would have to leave behind the friends that she had made through all of those years of schooling. Regardless she knew that this was necessary so she agreed on it and applied to a few schools, although only one came back willing to accept her application in the middle of the school year.

All of that in mind she now finds herself on a bus of sorts on her way to the school that she would call home for the foreseeable future. She wonders on the way there if she would make friends, her wondering if such a person can do so so far into the school year. It was a bit worrying and it didn't really matter regardless considering they had already accepted her and whether or not she liked it she was set to attend anyway. With a light sigh she looks out of the window and see a tunnel approaching and within a blink of an eye the bus goes through it and stops on the other side. "What in the," she simply states as the bus driver ushers her off of the bus and rides away into the distance.

She stands there with her luggage in her hands with a slight tilting of her head as she remarks on the happenings, "Not much for conversation I guess." With pursed lips she looks over at the pathway and starts to make her way to the school, her looking up at it as it comes into view. Within moments she passes through the field-that she was for some reason able to pass through-and steps through the gates of the school, her looking around for some indication as to where the dorms were so she could off load her stuff for now.

Noriko hugged her books to her chest, glancing from side to side nervously. School hadn't even begun yet and she was already freaking out. She hadn't been able to make any friends whatsoever during her schooling, save for a few kind teachers. It wasn't as if she was bullied, but more... blended into the background. Maybe she preferred it that way. Nori wasn't ever really able to tell.

She slipped into the hallway and frantically searched for the classroom as written on her sheet of paper. This wasn't the first time that it occurred to her that maybe it was this type of behavior that made it difficult to find friends.

She eventually found her way to the dorm and placed her things there, it apparent that this place would get a bit labor-some to get around if she didn't get use to where places were. Upon first glance it didn't seem like the place would be that big but boy was she wrong, she should have been paying attention when she was led to her room. Regardless she was told that after she had her things put away she was to report to her homeroom class, her apparently being given at least some leniency since she enrolled very late to the party. For that she was grateful and truthfully she didn't really know what to expect from this place when she first arrived but hopefully it wouldn't be so bad.

A bit later she made her way out of her room and walked down the hallways that strung through the school, her wondering where exactly this classroom was. There was a number assigned to it so she figured to just follow the room numbers until she came upon it, her seeing that they at least went in order which was a good thing seeing as how she didn't have a map to go by. "Lets see," she said looking down at the room number on the sheet of paper and then back over at the rooms that lined the walls as she walked, "Should be around here somewhere." She was subconsciously talking aloud to herself as she made her way down the corridors, her pursing her lips as she numbered the rooms off and eventually stopped in front of the one that was listed.

"Finally," she said simply and the cocked her head to the side as she stood at the closed door for a moment, her furrowing her brows as she stood there in thought. 'Should I just go in or should I knock?' She thought as she narrowed her eyes.

Weaving expertly around the onslaught of students, she finally approached what seemed to be the room she was looking for. In the doorway stood another student. Nori glanced up at the number just to make sure it was her room and indeed it was. Nori couldn't summon the courage to speak to the other, dark haired girl and so just stood there awkwardly as she waited for her to move either inside or out of the way.

As she stood there she was unaware that there was someone waiting for her to get out of the way, her at the moment wondering if she should knock or not. After a moment however she glanced behind her after getting a feeling that she was being watched and to her surprise there was indeed someone behind her. To that she double blinked and went wide-eyed as she realized that she was blocking her way into the room, her saying as she gave her a slight bow as she spoke, "Oh I apologize, I didn't realize I was blocking your way." With that said she then turned to the door again and opened it, her walking into the room after realizing that knocking was a rather silly notion. As she walked into the room she looked around and noticed that a number of students were already sitting in their seats, as well as the teacher awaiting the bell behind her desk at the forefront of the classroom.

Her eyes scanned them for a moment but she figured that she should get to a seat, but at that moment the bell rang and the teacher stood from her seat saying as she did so, "Alright class our new student arrived right on time." She paused and then added with a light nod of her head as she sat back down in her seat, "Why don't you introduce yourself to the class?"

Asa double blinked in response and then looked to the students that were awaiting her introduction, her wondering at that moment if they all had to do this at the start of the year. "Um, yeah okay," she simply said as she went to stand nest to the teachers desk, her then speaking again with a light smile on her lips, "My name is Tanaka Asa and I had to switch schools rather abruptly do to certain family matters." With that said she paused and then glanced over at the young woman who was behind her while she stood at the door rather absentmindedly, her then added with a light bow to the class, "Although I am kind of late I do hope to have a great year with all of you."

The class chattered amoungst themselves for a bit after that, obviously at the addition of someone knew to the place.

Miss Lia clapped at that moment and then said with a light nod of her head as she looked to an empty seat near the windows that lined the wall, "Very good, you can take the free seat over there." She paused and then looked over at Noriko, her adding as she did so, "Ask Noriko if you have any questions dear since she will be sitting next to you."

"Noriko?" Asa said in a hushed tone as she looked over at Noriko with a double blink, her nodding and making her way over to her newly assigned seat, "Okay, I'll keep that in mind miss."

"Miss Lia," the teacher said with a light raise of her brow as Asa took her seat and simply nodded in response.

Nori's face flushed when she came to realize that she was the center of attention. She shuffled slightly, looking down at her feet in embarrassment. Being the object of even one person attention was enough for her to shut down on herself, much less a group of people. Her heart pounded in her ears. Nori could practically feel all of the others judging her because she couldn't move or respond. All she wanted was to return to her seat without being noticed but she knew that was impossible now.

Nori began to tremble under the fierce gazes. Her breath started to come in gasps and she couldn't take the pressure. She couldn't hear what was going on around her, the blood in her ears was too loud. Her knees began to feel like jelly. The fact that she knew that she was acting strange only added to the weightless feeling but Nori couldn't stop it. Her gasps began to come more rapid. Her chest grew tight, like a weight was being put on it and she couldn't breathe or get enough air. She was getting lightheaded. Her numb legs failed her, quickly followed by the rest of her body as Nori collapsed to the ground.

Asa watched as the young woman seemingly froze in place, her seeming to be someone that isn't really known to be the center of attention. It wasn't like Asa has never seen someone who was a bit shy before, all schools had their kind but this one seemed a bit more shy than the rest she has met in her life. That in itself became apparent when Noriko collapsed to the floor out of what Asa figured was embarrassment or something similar. She double blinked as it was happening and for a moment thought on what she should do as no one seemed to be reacting to the scene that was playing before them all. Regardless of her being the new person to the school she sprung from her seat and went to the young woman who had collapsed on the ground, her lifting her head up as she did so.

As Asa was on the ground with the young woman Miss Lia spoke at that moment, her saying as she leaned over her desk to look down at the two of them, "Well I suppose you should take her to the nurse's office." She paused and then added with a light nod of her head as she leaned back into her chair, "You can stay in there with her as there won't really be anything important discussed for this block." Miss Lia made a few gestures with her hands as she explained where the office was for Asa, "Go left out of the room, take the hall all the way down, turn right down the hall, up the stairs on the left, and then last door on your right."

Asa sat there for a moment and wondered if this meant she was supposed to take the young woman by herself, but she figured it did seeing as how no one else seemed to be getting up. Regardless she didn't really seem like she would be that heavy so Asa figured she could manage. With that in mind she stood up and picked up the girl in her arms the best she could, her thankful that she wasn't that heavy or she wouldn't have been able to do so. As she left the room the classmates there started to talk amoungst themselves again, although most of it was simple idle chatter about the new girl none of it really even mentioning the young woman who had collapsed oddly enough. She glanced down at the young woman and pursed her lips in thought as thought to herself, her nearing the nurses office as she did so, 'Odd girl, wonder if she'll be okay?'

Moments later she arrived at the nurse's office and the nurse simply told her to place Noriko in once of the beds, her also adding that Asa could take the seat next to her when she wakes up. With that she sits in the chair overlooking the bed and lets her eyes close for a moment, her dozing off as she didn't really get that much sleep last night because she had to get on the bus so early. Within moments she dozes with her cheek lightly placed in her open palm, her arm resting on the arm of the chair. As she sat there her hair kind of made a draping motion over her exposed neck and kind of worked as a sort of make shift scarf.

When Nori finally came to, she realized that she was back in the nurse's office. She wondered who it was who took her this time as her panic attacks weren't exactly a new thing. Her bright eyes fluttered open, searching for something. Just to make sure that she was alone. Something she found wasn't true, seeing the new student by her side. With a small 'eep', Nori shot up, staring at the girl with wide eyes. Oh, she was asleep... Nori relaxed a little, holding her arms to her chest. She stared for a bit before tentatively asking, "Hello...?"

Asa faded out fairly quickly as the room was really quiet and peaceful, her having not gotten much sleep the previous day. In truth though she did want to be awake when the young woman woke up but she figured that just closing her eyes for a moment wouldn't be that bad, her however pretty much sleeping the rest of the school day away. After Noriko woke up and managed to eek out a small hello Asa let her eyes flutter open, her blinking a few times before she realized where she was and who spoke to her. As she realized who it was and where she just so happened to be she scratched the top of her head and then stretched a small bit, her then making eye contact with the young woman. "Oh!" She exclaimed and then added with a light laugh escaping her lips as she realized that she must have fallen asleep, "I'm sorry I must have fallen asleep."

She made a pout and then added as she rubbed her neck a small bit, "I should have got in a bed, that'll show me for falling asleep in a chair I guess." With that said she paused for a moment and then looked over at the young woman yet again, her letting a light smile come over her lips as she did so, "Noriko right? I'm glad that you're better now." After she said that she stood from the seat and then looked at the clock on the wall it approaching three in the afternoon, her making a perplexed look as she spoke again staring at the clock, "Well looks like I slept through my whole first day here." A light pause followed her words and then she looked back over at Noriko, her saying with a warm smile, "How about we walk out together? It's no fun walking back to the dorms by yourself after all."

Nori touched the sheets clutched in her grasp as she stared at the friendly girl. She seemed really nice but Nori's social skills were next to zero, as previously demonstrated. So the brunette didn't really know how to respond, other than she would seem awkward if she didn't. She was split between staying silent to save herself from embarrassment or to speak to save herself embarrassment. The only thing she could manage, in the predicament she was in, was a small nod. Her cheeks were alight with a bright blush and she felt dizzy from it.

Asa stood there for a moment simply looking at the young woman, her seeming to be quite the shy type beyond anything that she had ever seen before...although that in itself was kind of endearing in a way. After a bit of staring she cocked her head to the side as the young woman nodded in what she figured was agreement, her actually quite glad that she decided to tag along with her considering she had yet to make any real acquaintances seeing as how she pretty much missed the whole school day. With that in mind she enthusiastically took the young woman's hand in her own and started off with her out of the room, Asa quite obviously very happy that she had just made a new friend so quickly into her school year. She didn't say anything as she went off with the young woman but she eventually paused out in the court yard as she looked around at her surroundings, her at that moment realizing that she had no idea how to get to the dorms from here.

She looked over at Noriko and gave her a light smile again, but this time it was portraying a nit of a silly side of herself, "Um could you lead? I have no idea where I'm going..."

Nori's face was enveloped by redness when the new student ( she never really got her name XP) grasped onto her hand. She stumbled out of the bed and tried to not trip and fall as she followed the girl.

She tilted her head at her when she asked for Nori to lead her to the dorms. She glanced down at the ground shyly but ultimately nodded. That was definitely something she could do. "Th-This way," she urged quietly. Nori was too afraid to take her hand again, and so simply walked in the direction she knew the dorms would be. Once, she glanced back to make sure that the girl was following.

Asa let a light smile come over her lips as the young woman ushered her to follow her, her saying with a chipper tone as she stayed paced right behind Noriko, "Righty o Noriko." Her tone had a melodic tone to it as she followed the young woman, it rather apparent that she was having a good time with Noriko even if she wasn't that sociable. However on the way to the dorms she sort of veered off course becasue she got distracted by a butterfly and ended up running into one of the lamp posts that lined the walkway that led up to the dorms. With a thud she fell to the ground on her tush and then rubbed it with her hand, Asa exclaiming as she did so, "Oww that smarts." After she rubbed her butt for a moment she touched her shoulder, it seeming that she had bruised it a small bit in the collision with the post.

She pulls back her collar a small bit exposing her bra strap and looks at her shoulder, it red from where she hit the post a moment ago. She makes an unamused face and scowls at the lamp post as if it was it's fault for running into her. "Well that's going to bother me later," Asa said as she gets back to her feet, her then putting her light smile on her lips as she looks over at Noriko who looked back to see if she was following still, "Hold up Nori!" She called out in a rather upbeat tone for having just ran into a post, her catching back up to her and standing next to Noriko so she would show her to her room.

Having just met the young woman, it seems-for Asa at least-that she has found someone in this new school to call friend...although what that entails only the lamp post knows...

Nori looked startled at her injury. She immediately cried, "Are you alright?!" when she saw that the girl had run into a post. She didn't even really knew that it was possible for someone to hit something so obvious. But then, even Nori had so difficulties with objects from time to time. Nori met with her on a middle ground just as she was approaching her. She stared at her worriedly despite her happy look. She held her hands up as if moving to inspect her but refrained as Nori didn't know if she would be comfortable with her, a stranger for the most part, touching her.

"Is something wrong?" Asa asked with a hint of worry in her voice as the young woman seemed to be a bit flustered for some reason, her cocking her head to the side and then making an 'o' shape with her lips as she added, "Do you have a tummy ache? I get those and I just want to do nothing more than lay in bed all day!" After she said that she double blinked and then looked at where Noriko was looking, her then realizing that she was just worried about if Asa was okay or not. A light laugh escaped her lips as she stood there, her shaking her head and then saying as she reached over to take the young woman's hand yet again, "I'm fine this isn't the first time I ran into a post and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last." With that said she lifted the young woman's hand and paced partially on Asa's collar bone and should where the red mark was, her saying as she did so with a warm smile on her lips, "See it doesn't hurt."

Noriko wanted to jerk away for fear of hurting the girl but her grip kept her in place. She watched with wide eyes as she pressed her hand against the girl's collarbone which sported a red mark. "See? It doesn't hurt at all," she said cheerfully. Noriko guessed she had to believe her. Still, Nori swallowed heavily, afraid of what might happen.

Nori nodded, retracting her hand. Despite the movement indicating rejection, Nori smiled softly at the other girl. It seemed her upbeat attitude was infectious.

Asa finally saw the young woman smile which made her extraordinarily happy, considering that she seemed to be a really shy person so she figured such a thing wasn't a daily phenomena. With that in mind she stopped in the lobby area of the dorm room and cocked her head to the side, her then speaking yet again to Noriko, "Today was fun Noriko." She then paused for a moment and put her hands behind her back as she added with a light nod of her head, "I'm in room 5D if you want to stop by sometime and just talk or something." In truth this whole living in a school that had dorms wasn't something that Asa was use to so she was happy to have someone she could talk to already. So with all of that said she smiled lightly at the young woman and added with a light nod, "Could you show me to my room? I came here earlier today but I can't quite remember where it is...I'm supposed to have a roommate as well but she wasn't there when I dropped my stuff off earlier today."

Nori sucked in a sharp breath which the other girl didn't seem to hear when she mentioned room 5D. That was her room, wasn't it? She would have to check again, but Nori was pretty sure... Was this girl her roommate? It would be better than someone mean, but what if Nori disappointed her in some way? She didn't want that...

In any case, the brunette nodded and gestured towards where she knew the dorms were and began walking in that direction.

Asa watched as the young woman walked away toward what she figured to be the room she asked about, her wondering if she had something on her mind during the walk. It was pretty obvious that the young woman spent a lot of the time in her own thoughts, which was evident in just how little she talked. During the walk she pondered what it would be like to live in a place like this or the next half a year, her having enrolled half into the current year. That however wasn't the one thing she missed all through the school, that was that she had yet to realize that this school is for monsters...one of which she is not.

Regardless she absentmindedly went along behind the young woman, completely unaware that she was not a human person. As they approached the stairs that would lead them up to the correct floor she stepped up onto the first stair, her turning around to look at Noriko with a light smile on her face, "You don't have to talk when you're around me, I do enough of that already." With that said she put her hands behind her back and started up the stairs, her going at it slowly because she didn't recall where the room was exactly.

Nori glanced at her when she said that. She hadn't really said anything anyway, so she supposed it worked out. But Nori gazed at the other girl, taking in her dark hair and dark eyes, her friendly aura and demeanor. Out of all the people, Nori could definitely see this girl being her friend. "What was your name?" Nori asked, her curiosity finally over riding her shyness.

"My name," Asa mused aloud as she stopped at the top of the stairs, her pursing her lips as she did so. With her turning on her heel to look at the young woman she replied to her question with a warm smile on her lips, "Asa Tanaka but you can just call me Asa if you want!" Her personality was shining through rather splendidly now that the young woman finally asked her her name openly, her wondering if she would ever ask her something up until now. With that out of the way she looks down at the end of the hallway and sees the room marked 5D, her walking over to it with a slight skip in her step now that she had someone she could call friend at this school. "Here it is," she said proudly as if she had found it all by herself although she kind of did when she first got here so...yay?

Asa... That meant morning. What a befitting name for such a bright and cheery girl. Nori was glad that Asa wasn't upset that she hadn't remembered her name. Relief flowed through Nori, along with regret that she hadn't payed enough attention in the first place.

However, Nori didn't have much time to agonize over it as the sound of a female voice screeching came from down the hall. "You stole him from me, you b*tch!" Was heard before a thud of flesh violently hitting against flesh came from that same direction.

"It isn't my fault-- Did you really just hit me?! Me?! I'll get you for that!" A loud 'thuwap!' and the first girl, a small redhead was sent flying. Nori was startled by the sudden outbreak of a fight. Others poked their heads out of their rooms to investigate but did nothing to interfere.

The redhead glared at the approaching woman, her face hidden by her long dark, holding her injured stomach. Fire enclosed her form in her rage and a beak formed for her mouth. "You'll pay for this!" She screeched.

"See? Ugly creatures have no business reproducing anyway," the other girl scoffed.

The flame engulfed redhead laughed, an ironic sound. "Funny you should say that, Ohaguro bettari."

The 'Ohaguro bettari' gasped as if she had been physically wounded.

Asa watched as the young woman seemed to be a bit relived for some reason or another, although much like Noriko she didn't have much time to react. Noises and an apparent fight was going on in the vicinity, her wondering what it could be over considering she never has ever really been in one before. With that in mind she peeks around the corner to see two girls apparently fighting over a guy or something similar, her wondering which one started it. Although as the words escalated she was a bit surprised when one of them didn't look like a human anymore due to the beak now present where her mouth once was, her double blinking to be sure that she wasn't just seeing things and she obviously wasn't. With that out of the way the mention of an ohaguro bettari reverberated, her only vaguely even knowing the name of what it is.

She stood there for a moment but she felt that she should do something her at the moment looking past the obvious non-human people before her and just seeing two girls that are in-danger of losing their friendships. With that in mind she looked back to Noriko and says with a light smile on her lips, "I'll be right back Nori." After she said that she made her way over to the two of them, her walking up to them right after the gasp was given by the ohaguro bettari. "You shouldn't be fighting like this," she said with a light smile on her lips, her adding as she blinked a few times and looked at the both of them, "I'm sure the one you're fighting over wouldn't want to see the two of you like this." An increasingly warm smile was on her lips as she reached out a hand to the both of them her saying as she did so, "Shouldn't we all be enjoying out school year as friends instead?"

Asa wasn't one to just sit to the side and let someone get hurt or anything like that, she had to do something to help them...even if they just so happened to be very unlike her...

Nori reached out, realizing that Asa meant to interfere. She knew that they both were lower level yokai, but people didn't usually interfere in other's fights. Could Asa handle it? Or maybe she was a higher class yokai and she wanted to assert her dominance? But the true surprise was when she told them that they shouldn't fight. A statement that didn't go over so well with the two girls.

The redhead looked at Asa's hand with distaste while the ohaguro bettari's face continued to be covered by her hair and so her expression couldn't be seen. Something she made up for by her loud words. "Who and what are you? This is our fight! You have no right to come in here and butt in!"

The ohaguro screeched, her long black hair floating upwards in her rage. Noriko panicked, seeing that she was about to strike. Usually, Nori's shyness would lead her to hesitate but her instincts drove her forward. Just as she brought up an arm to backhand Asa, Nori jumped forward with a snarl, her form shifting into something more feline. Brown furred ears shot from her head and a long tail shot from the base of her spine. Nori bit down on the ohaguro's arm with her elongated fangs and glared at her with now golden eyes. The ohaguro screamed, trying to dislodge Nori's teeth by waving her arm up and down, which only exacerbated her injury.

It became prevalent that these two were not okay with the whole let's be friends angle, her wondering if most here would be the same way in some shape or form. It was obvious that they were not human so they could have some kind of honor basis when fighting or something as far as she knew. Regardless it was also obvious that she was in the line of fire but she didn't show any inclination in moving away from whatever may be coming her way. She was stalwart in her urge of making people friends rather than fight about inconsequential reasons, which this time just so happened to be about a guy for some reason or another. As she got ready to be hit by the young woman she stared her down and didn't blink away, her waiting for the strike to come.

When the hand came down it was stopped though, it seeming that Noriko had took hold of the young woman's arm in the ruckus. Asa double blinked as she looked at the young woman now feline in a few different ways, her never even suspecting that such a quite young woman would hide something such as this. Regardless she contemplated on what to do next, her then reaching over and putting a hand on both Noriko's head and another on the young woman's shoulder who was bitten. "Isn't that enough now?" She asked with pursed lips, her a bit perturbed at the whole needlessly fighting crap that was going on now.
