Twist

Going round it to be honest
Pepper stood at the Academy gates, the golden Avengers emblem upon it glistening in the sun. She had been sent in the Director's steed as he and Madame Hydra were busy questioning one of the super villains who had so recently attacked the school. The fighting had caused quite a bit of destruction, even scaring away some of the students as a result, which had been rather disheartening but with the Academy now repaired and most of the remaining students enjoying breakfast, none the worse, Pepper felt like her usual cheery self. She felt thankful that they had someone like Dr Pym around to help out, even with all his eccentricities, as his Pym Particles made the clean up such much easier.

She went over her brand new tablet, one of many she had kept neatly organised in her room as she waited, going over all the new students that had chosen to enrol here. This was in part, the attentive administrator thought, due to their triumph over the shadowy group that had ambushed the school which had gained them some much appreciated recognition. The thought made the resolute redhead smile but looking down her list at some of the more questionable students she knew that some of them undoubtedly joined to see some action against one of the other villainous factions out there. And there were a good number; Hydra School, A.I.M Academy, the Oscorp Scientific Institution to name a few.

But at least most of these students had chosen to enrol here where they would be safe and could learn what was needed to be an Avenger using their top notch facilities like Pym's Lab or the Robo Dojo, another use their resident genius had found for some of his many robots. Even the All Father himself Odin had brought parts of Asgard itself here to help teach the students, including the Bifrost which would allow students to go anywhere in the Nine Realms.

Pepper heard a bit of commotion behind her and turned to see Ares menacing a few of the S.H.I.E.L.D recruits who were on exercise, as they too were being taught here. It was nice that even among all the superpowers and magic that there were still honest people wanting to make a difference. Of course they didn't deserve what Ares was putting them through but he had been in a foul mood ever since Director Fury refused to allow him to use one of the super villains in a demonstration for the students. There was no talking to him like this so Pepper turned her attention back to the gate and waited for the new students.

Anya couldn't stay still on her seat on her father's car, looking around the sights of the city and boucing slightly in place, as she looked towards him "Are we there yet?" She asked, for what should be the tenth time since they entered this place alone. Gilberto let out a small sigh, slightly annoyed by the constant questioning, but still happy his daughter was so excited to finally enrol at the Avengers' Academy "Not yet, mi querida. Just a few more minutes, alright?" He asked, as she gave him a small nod, looking outside through the window and supporting her cheek on her hand. She started to press the small button that made the thing go down and then up again, clearly bored by what seemed like an endless journey, turned even longer by her excitement and anxiety to finally arrive. She kept on playing with the window until her father glared at her, clearing his throat, making her promptly stop what she was doing and sit upright, with a small sigh.

She pulled out her phone, sadly out of juice, and stared at it with a clearly sour face. In the rush to get ready to go, she had forgotten to charge it up, and the battery ran out of power about an hour into the road trip, leaving her with nothing to do but stare at the roadside and make small talk with her dad. Since they mostly disagreed on music styles, and there was even a small fight over who got to control the radio, they decided to keep it turned off, but at least that consumed the great part of three minutes of the trip. Not much, but it was something. She had trying everything to cope with boredom during this trip: Sleeping, imagining a little man running alongside the car, imagining she was somewhere else, even reading, but none of that helped her out, and only made her more nervous and expectant to arrive.

She pocketed the thing back up when her father shook her shoulder slightly, pointing towards the great tower in the distance, making her jaw fall on the ground when she caught a glimpse of it. She had to hold herself down not to climb on the car's dashboard, as she bit on her lower lip "We're here! I can't believe we're finally here!" She said, clearly excited. Gilberto himself seemed more than impressed by the architecture of the structure that stood in front of them "Well, we're close now, tesoro." He said, with a small smile. She hugged him tightly, which almost made him set the car into collision course with another one, but he quickly regained control of it "Careful there, niña, don't want to get into an accident and lose your first day here, do you?" He asked, with a warm chuckle, as his right hand ruffled her long ponytail.

The car came to a swift stop as near the gates as it could have "Well, guess we're here." Her father said, with a sad undertone in his voice "I guess so." She said, looking down, and fiddling with her hands "Good luck there, Aña. And have fun, will you? I'm sure you'll make your old man proud. And I'm sure your mother is proud of you." He said, pulling her into a tight hug, planting a kiss on her forehead, and letting go of her. She smiled "I'll miss you, dad!" She said, as she wiped and held a few tears back, opening the door of the car, stepping outside. She walked over to the trunk, grabbed her bags and set over towards the front gates, adjusting her jacket and looking towards the facilities that hid behind the walls of the academy.

Bucky stretched as he got out of the bed and heard his muscles click in his spine and his shoulders. He didn't like these beds very much, he always sunk into it and he didn't know why it bothered him, but he just wasn't used to it. A younger part of him wondered why they bounced so much but he knew the world had evolved. Maybe if he moved it to the floor tonight. He shook off the last of the sleep. Bucky's gaze landed on the small book on his stand and picked it up carefully. He'd been up a few hours after he'd fallen asleep and he went to the marker he'd left so he could go through the new addition to the page.

It was less gibberish last night, but he wished it weren't. The fight must have drug these memories forward, or perhaps the state he'd fallen into during it. Just as he'd suspected, they weren't pleasent to receive. He thought through the hazy memories of a man who had handled him between missions... there were... two... two prominent ones. He couldn't exactly be sure, but he supposed there would be many over the decades. At least he remembered that the memories of the cold were from being taken out of the ice.

Eventually he got tired of looking over the facts and adding the few that filtered through. He put the notebook away with a heavy sigh and got showered and dressed for the day.

Bucky needed to focus on the now, and he knew he did. If he was going to be successful here at this school, or just keep his head above the influx of the Winter Soldier's memories alone, without Steve here, he needed to make his best effort to do that. Thankfully the guy from yesterday, Logan was still here and that was a good distraction. There had been a knock on his dormitory door and he tensed as he let his hand lower to brush against the knife hidden under his shirt.

An overreaction, clearly, as he opened the door and simply found a note. There was to be a orientation breakfast in Club A for those who wished to join in before classes started. That was another thing he ought to do, stop in later and find Miss Potts to figure out that schedule for himself. Steve had handled all that before...

No time like the present, Bucky decided. "Hungry?" He asked Logan and passed him the invitation. @slachance6

Bucky looked around the campus, rather amazed that any evidence of the fight from yesterday was completely gone. Fury had his resources, at least. The clubhouse was also completely restored from whatever party had happened there. He honestly hadn't paid it or the rooms occupants any attention on his quick march down to the bottom floor to find Chase and Molly.

He missed them a little, but he moved past it as he took a seat. He left for Logan at the table in case he wanted to sit there, and hesitantly left his bag on his seat to go up to the buffet that had been set up in front of the bar.  A few people were already there and he walked up behind them. A picked up a plate and walked up along the right side of a girl there.

She was a damn pretty dame, he thought. She wasn't all spiffed up, but her red curls seemed to fall around her figure just right. He stepped up on her right and was amused with himself at such a random line of thought over a complete stranger. Sure, normal enough for Bucky... according to Steve, but honestly he usually felt like too much of a mess to pay any attention to women. But he did feel energized being near this one for some reason. So odd... but she was gorgeous girl. That surely made sense, right? Not that he did anything with it, he didn't even glance in her direction. Bucky just reached forward with his gloved hand to scoop from the container of eggs that were mostly in front of her, onto his plate. The gloves were too small for him, though, and the metal peaked out between the glove and his long sleeve a bit.

He pulled his arm back and got a bit of sausage that was in front of him. @Jessy753

Logan rolled out of bed at seven-thirty in the morning. He didn't generally need much sleep; his healing factor helped keep him functioning much longer than most people. Last night, though, he had just drained his energy and was genuinely tired. Still, he was able to awaken quickly since he'd gotten a decent amount of rest. After changing out of his ruined clothes into his only spare set, he opened his door to find Bucky already awake. He told him about the note saying that there was going to be an orientation breakfast before classes. Seemed alright; Logan still hadn't gotten really met anyone besides Joe and Bucky, who he was either fighting or planning on fighting.

"Hungry?" Bucky asked.

"You bet," Logan replied. He was ravenous, in fact; he always grew hungry every time he needed to regenerate, and he probably regrew a decent fraction of his body in that fight last night.

He followed Bucky to Club A and found a seat next to him. He quickly rushed to the buffet and helped himself to a massive plate of eggs, bacon, sausage, toast and potatoes that dwarfed everyone else's. Still not far from Bucky, he decided he should probably apologize for the whole incident last night.

"Sorry I almost killed you last night," said Logan awkwardly. "I swear I was being controlled by something, but I'm not sure who or what it was."

@FarFlungDreamer

Sersi had gone to bed soon after she returned to the dorm and woke up somewhat early, since Eternals can generally get by with less sleep than humans. She looked around her new home: a decent little room all to herself, but certainly not as fancy as her place in Asgard. She would spice it up later, but not now. For now she saw a note saying that there would be an orientation breakfast before classes, and there wasn't really any reason not to go. There were certainly some students that she hadn't met yet. She knew that she would be early, but decided to teleport into Club A.

She was correct, there were only a few students and a couple teachers there. The place was remarkably cleaned up from the attack last night. Sersi realized that she could have made the job a whole lot easier with her powers, but decided not to tell anyone. One thing that she didn't want to be known as was a teacher's pet.

After getting a plate of eggs, bacon and fruit, Sersi decided to look for any of the guys she met at Asgard, but they were nowhere to be found. She decided to sit at an empty table and see if any of the new kids would want to check her out, which was expected.

Natasha Romanoff

The first thing Natasha had done before going to bed was pulling the mattress of the bed. She slept slatted frame of the bed with blanket and pillow. It was by far more comfortable than those way too soft mattresses the Americans placed on their beds. It cause her to wake up with a hurting back but at least she had fallen asleep. Otherwise she would've turned from side to side, awake all night by the feeling of continuously sinking into the soft mattress. Thus enjoying sleeping like that.

Like every morning the redhead awoke early. She started off by jogging around the campus and taking a shower. By the time she was ready for her first (forced) lecture, she noted an invitation to some sort of breakfast on her door. She rolled her eyes as she preferred being on her own but went anyway. She walked to the  bar to fill her plate with some fruits and a yogurt. She minded her own business until a familiar dark haired person appeared on her right. She seemed to be casual about it but in truth she was watching his left arm. He wore a glove and still she knew what was underneath it. She had touched the metal a million times. Even spared with the man and felt the fingers wrap around her wrists and neck.

Was he warning her? Did a small part of the Winter Soldier remember her? She had no answers but relieve washed over her as he turned around to walk back to the table. Her heart was pounding fast against her ribcage. She was sure that Russia had sent him to kill her. They definitely weren't pleased with her leaving. So this was her last torture before stopping her. To see if she would fight her old teacher and...and who would win in a fight. @FarFlungDreamer

Tony Stark

Tony arrived at the Club for the breakfast looking like he hadn't slept all night. His hair was a total mess and he had bags under his eyes. Like most nights he had spent the whole night tinkering on some kind of invention instead of sleeping. But unlike his usual schedule, he wasn't able to sleep in the morning to the early afternoon. In fact he needed to somehow figure out to stay awake for a few days straight. Perhaps that could be his next invention. A machine that kept people awake without crazy side effects.

Somehow he made it to the coffee machine without bumping into anyone and already poured himself two cups of black coffee. He walked over to the two boys at the table and sat down to the only two guys. His gaze shortly moved to the pig lady from yesterday before he focused back to Logan and James. Even though he had no idea who they were. "The campus is strangely cleaned up, isn't it?", he spoke to them wondering for a moment if Rictor would appear. He noted how Tony hadn't seen the Mexican since parting ways to fight the bad guys. He sipped on his hot coffee - desperately hoping that the hot liquid would wake him.

Wade rolled over, snoring loudly. He placed the horn of his stuffed unicorn between his lips and gently nibbled it in his slumber. This was a rare moment of peace in his usual erratic and insane way. In truth, she rather liked him better this way. Peaceful. Unmoving. Still. "As the grave." She thought, running a black fingernail along his jawline. Sleep was the compromise between her domain and the other side. The space between life and death. Wade oftened joked that sleep was just death with benefits. He was funny. He laughed at death. No, WITH death. Nobody ever laughed when she showed up. They all were the same. Denial. Anger. Bargaining. Depression. Acceptance. Sometimes fleeing, if they were really dumb. She looked over at the other bed in the dorm. The cold corpse of the young man lying there made her grimace. He had walked in half asleep from some party and spotted her watching Wade from the window. She had to take him. She sighed and looked back at the sleeping form of Wade. He had no idea of her feelings. How she wanted to keep him. He always visited her. But somehow he kept crossing back. She sighed and headed to the window. The garden box outside of it was blackened and withered. A nasty tell of her comings. She looked back at her beloved one last time. Biting her lip, she admired his perfect butt one more time before shouting.

"DEADPOOL."

Wade shot up in the bed, ramming it against the top bunk. "AH @&$?!" He cried out, holding his forehead, "Stupid...top bunk...doesn't even follow previous room layout continuity." Wade grumbled. He sat up and looked over at the bed across from his and noted the dead body.

"Huh. Dead guy. Did I...?" Wade questioned. He looked over at his swords resting by the closet door. He crossed the room and unsheathed one. "Nope. All clean. No blood. Not my fault!" Wade spoke aloud to himself. He looked at the dresser and picked up the phone, dialing. It rang once before the voicemail activated. "Screening, eh? Logan, you sly boy." Wade thought.

"L, it's Wade. I need you to get to my dorm. I got a body here and for once, it wasn't my fault! I'm not lying this time. So get over here with some trash bags, lime, a shovel and maybe a nice omelette pocket. Oh and campus security or something." Wade hung up and sniffed.

"Huh. Should probably Febreeze or something. After I get dressed." Wade decided.

@slachance6

Nova floated through space, weightless and in orbit. She had decided to take a nap off workd having no need to breath and the means to withstand the harshness of space as if were a calm pool its silence was calming. Still this was not the kind of thing she wanted to do,  she had come to renew her humanity so to say. She had chosen to leave earth to become what she was but she had not agreed to become inhuman. In truth being inhuman would make her job easier. She was the hearld of Galactus the eater of worlds one of the god like etenals. She found him worlds to devour but not just lifeless rocks, no she had to find worlds with life and the more life the better for her master. Still even a herald vould get time off and so she did though the time would come when her master hungered, but that was a ways off.

Waking up in orbit is not as bad as one might think, assuming you can survive the cold vacuum and rafation from the star. Nova almost being a star herself could survive everything space threw at her in fact it was rather comfratable like the sift bed she shoulg have been in. Nova woke to see the earth below in all its blue green glory, so fee got to see this abd yet to Nova it did not compare to the many worlds she had seen their pristine beauty eclipsing earths yet this was home.

She quickly got reorientated abd porpoled herself downwards into the atmosphere, her reentry making her look like an exceptionaly bright and fast meteor. Like a rock from space she flew downwards faster and faster the heat not bothering her just like the cold. She needed to hurry as today she had classes.

It might be weird to take a vacation to a school but it was as normal as it could get. Yeah it was for super heros as only around them could she fit in but it was still a school and brought with it normalcy which she wanted. It was a vain desire but still a few months of simply being a teen in school would do her good before her master put her back to work.

Nova plumited through clouds heading at super sonic speeds for the ground. Yet inches before her head would have hit the earth or rather pavement she came to a full stop twisting the laws of momentum completly to not crash. Though a crash would not have hurt much it was sometimes a good way to mark a world.Nova quickly changed postion so the she was floating inches above the ground before finally landing on her feet.

He grabbed a piece of toast and some fruit. Oranges and plums (because they were a remedy for bad memory) and so he decided to take one of those. He turned then and Bucky's eyes immediately searched for his bag, but he saw it hadn't been touched. He let the paranoia go and went back up to Logan and took his own seat.

A loose chuckle left him as he looked at Logan's plate. Well, after yesterday's fight who wouldn't be hungry? He glanced at his own, he likely should eat more... but the small portions seemed to be what he felt he should do. Maybe it was his days in the army, maybe somewhere on the darker side of things. Bucky didn't give a damn, right now, he just sat to eat

He forked some of the sausage into his mouth and chewed thoughtfully as Logan suddenly decided to apologize. That seemed a little ironic somehow.

"I'm the last person you'd need to apologize about that sort of thing Logan, trust me," He said and tried to pull up a smile, but his lips only tightened and raised some. It wasn't a happy subject, but it seemed to him like Logan would get it. "I understand," He said, though, so he wouldn't feel upset over it. His back hurt this morning but the pain wasn't intolerable to him and Bucky was rather convinced he deserved much worse than a few deep cuts. "It was likely the Runaways parents, they have many powers." He explained with a shrug and dug into his eggs.

Someone came and sat with them, and Bucky felt he had inadequate information for all this. Steve was supposed to be the one here doing all the introducing and keeping the focus off him. But Bucky realized he couldn't blame anyone but himself for Steve's absence. He'd had to deal with the consequences.

"Fury certainly has his limitless resources," Bucky voiced his earlier thoughts, towards the new man. He didn't exactly trust Fury, he knew Steve did... but Steve's trust wasn't hard to gain. But it might just be Fury's position he didn't trust. He looked the guy over before trying to decide what Steve would do. "I'm Bucky," He said and set his fork down and put out his left right hand to shake the other guy's hand.

Joe (Club A)

Joe was in a rather foul mood as he headed towards Club A. His bed was cramped and uncomfortable compared to the one he was used to in his suite at the Colosseum Casino back in Las Vegas and the fact that he practically missed all the action from last nights events still preoccupied his thoughts. He did however have his open challenge at the Arena of War today to look forward too which helped soften his mood somewhat. He planned to get some practice in at the Robo Dojo before the big event but decided he might as well take advantage of the free breakfast on offer whilst he could. A physique as perfect as his required the proper nourishment.

Once he had arrived at the Club, Joe headed straight for the buffet table.

"Bzzt!... Welcom..." The robot was cut off as Joe placed his hand over it's face and pushed it backwards away from the table. Grabbing two trays, he placed as much food on them as possible before heading towards his fellow students. Sitting down next to Logan, Joe started shovelling food into his mouth.

"You guys better enjoy this whilst you can." Joe said to the group, still piling food into his mouth as he spoke. "You'll be eating through straw's soon enough. You know if any of you are man enough to take me up on my challenge." Joe mocked, before letting out a bellowing laugh.

Natasha sat down away from the Winter Soldier and that other guy. Soon Stark simply planted himself next to them and she sat tensed. The redhead mixed her fruits with the yoghurt as she kept on watching the man from the corner of her eyes. She seemed comfortable sitting on her own. She was used to being alone. The only thing that kept her on the edge was the new guy who appeared on the campus sometime the day before. In fact all she wanted to do was exit the Club as soon as possible and keep as much space as possible between him and her. @FarFlungDreamer

She dipped her spoon into the yoghurt and was about to place it inside her mouth as she watched the other students quietly. But her main focus stayed on the man sitting near her. She tried her best to seem occupied with her breakfast instead of a complete maniac for creeping on a allegedly stranger.

Tony Stark

Tony sipped on his coffee and crinkled his mouth over the taste. It was cheap coffee. Obviously. One would think that Fury would be able to at least purchase some decent coffee. The billionaire basically lived on the hot liquid so he definitely needed Jarvis to organize some good coffee for the campus. Still given the fact that the coffee was the only thing that managed to actually wake him up, he kept on drinking. He glanced at the newbie over the rim of the cup as the guy talked about Fury. He had no idea what he was talking about but Tony listened to it anyone. "Fury doesn't have limitless ressources. He only acts that way. It would take me only minutes to hack his system and get all of his dirty little secrets.", Tony spoke sure of himself and continued "I'm more interested on why he chose to build this school? Of course the guy is only selfless and wants to help." The last part was dripping with sarcasm.

He glanced at the guy's hand as soon as he extended his hand to introduce himself. He rose his eyebrow and was almost offended by the fact the guy didn't seem to recognize him. But yet many people seemed to have lived behind a rock before Fury picked them up to attend this ridiculous academy. "Tony Stark.", he nodded towards the guy and looked at his hand. He seemed to hesitate but then extended his hand as well and shook Bucky's hand having his AI's voice in mind to behave properly during the first few days. He pulled his hand quickly away again and cleaned his hand with a napkin almost instantly. @FarFlungDreamer

"And you will be choking on all that food soon enough, if you keep on cramming it into your mouth.", Tony spoke disgusted to the guy who had chosen to sit down to them. He watched disgusted as it seemed like the guy spoke without even swallowing his breakfast. He continued drinking his first cup of coffee and emptied the mug with three or four big gulps. He placed it down and eyed his second cup, which he had brought along. @Scatterbrain

He nodded politely and then stopped mid-nod. "Are you related to Howard Stark?" He blurted without thinking. He'd known Howard. The memory sprang up quickly. Yeah... he'd met him a few times during his time as a Howling Commando when he'd visit them. He and that dame Steve was head over heels for, Peggy, grouped with them sometimes when there was a new weapon or gadget that Stark had created for the army, or specifically Steve. He'd been one of the guys to turn Steve into a super soldier, from what Steve had let on about the subject to Bucky. Bucky had never been overly fond of him, but Steve, as usual, got along with everyone. But he had valued Howard's friendship and that had meant Bucky valued it to a degree too.

Strange to get thrown back that far... he wondered how old Howard would even be... if he were even alive. The thoughts prompted him to frown, but Tony wiping his hand off like he'd stuck it in the mud had Bucky snorting instead. @Jessy753

Someone else approached the table, but with two trays and it was the behemoth that had protected his... this, group earlier yesterday when he'd come in thinking he needed to save the runaways.

He raised an eyebrow at the threat, or supposed threat. He laughed so it didn't seem disarming, but then again, that could be the whole point to it. "Challenge?" He asked suspiciously, he didn't want any part of it. But he should know about any potential threats. He glanced at Stark... well he certainly talked like Howard. @Scatterbrain

Joe (Club A)

"A guy's got to eat you know...." Joe replied, not letting the kid's comment stop him from enjoying his meal. "..and don't try and change the subject." Joe looked over the kid. He was scrawny and probably had never been in a fight his entire life. "You're just scared because you know you wouldn't last five seconds in a fight with me." Joe let out another bellowing laugh before the kid from last nights event's spoke up. Finally someone who was interested. Joe was beginning to worry that no one had the guts to face him and he really needed to let off some steam. "Yeah. I'm holding an open challenge at the Arena of War later today. Just a one on one no holds barred fight with yours truly. I'm taking on all comers.." Joe turned to look at the lady who was also eating breakfast. "Ladies are welcome too. I'm an fair and equal kinda guy that way." He said, winking at her before turning back to the guys. "You're welcome to have a go even though I'm surprised Fury let you stay considering that fiasco you and your friends caused." He said, taking a big slurp off his milkshake.

Oh. A spar. That was no threat, then. Bucky didn't know if a spar was a good idea, but he did know if he were going up against anyone it would be safest against Logan or this guy. The man turned and made a comment towards the redhead from earlier and another girl. He looked between them both steadily before his gaze snapped back to the grey behemoth who was talking to him again.

"We worked it out," He said cooly, although Fury hadn't said much to him. Bucky didn't feel like correcting anyone that he'd been here before and left. Then he'd need to get into those sorts of details and he wasn't comfortable sharing any of those. "What's the purpose of your fight?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.  @Scatterbrain

Natasha Romanoff

The red head turned to the boy who seemed to desperately try and get people to spar with him. "Darling, you don't want to spar with me.", she simply said and continued "Where I'm from - the winner has to kill the loser once the sparring round is over. I believe you want to keep your pretty head on your shoulders, don't you?" She sounded bored but had no need to actually fight for exercise. She preferred dancing ballet and wanted people to underestimate her ability to fight. @Scatterbrain (Joe)

Tony Stark

Almost instantly Tony rolled his eyes. Why was the first thing people asked him if he was related to him? It got on his nerves a lot. He tried to make a name for himself even in MIT but apparently that was for nothing. He scowled at the memory of the guy who had killed his mom but nodded "Yeah, he was my father." He drank some more and dwelled over what had happened as his facial expression turned darker at that thought. @FarFlungDreamer

"Actually I'm not scared. Just some people prefer to use their brain instead of muscles.", he spoke sipping some more of his second cup of coffee and emptying with a few gulps. "I really need Jarvis to get new coffee machines...", he muttered under his breath and looked into the empty mug with a frown on his forehead. Tony looked back at the grey guy and wondered if his suit was able to take him on. Perhaps with a few modifications? He should defenitely work on some upgrades. Just for the fun of it and potential threads. @Scatterbrain (Joe)

"Let him know Barnes said hello," Bucky suddenly snorted at his own words and shook his head. Thankfully his hair was tied back and didn't get in his face. Yeah right, he imaged the man's response would be a who? Maybe if he'd said he was Steve's friend, or 'Caps' friend. He'd always hated that everyone only called Steve that. It was like they ignored the man under the red, white, and blue. But Howard might remember if he thought on it long enough.

The thought suddenly pulled him down. That was a mistake to say... his more calculating side realized. A mistake of someone thinking of himself before the complications of being the Winter Soldier. In his defense those were just starting to filter in... his time as Russia's assassin. But that was something he didn't want Howard's nose in, it was better if he didn't even realize he was alive. With that thought, Bucky realized that everyone from that time must have believed he was dead. He wondered what Becca had thought...

He redirected his thoughts to damage control and chewed on his breakfast as he mentioned. "Scratch that, no offense, but he probably wouldn't remember me."

Hopefully this kid wouldn't think to mention it. They might even be estranged seeing as he had said it rather sourly. That would be for the best, he didn't need any questions asked. @Jessy753

Pepper noticed the car pulling in and a young girl get out. She recognised her as Anya but flicked through her tablet to make sure as she didn't want to give a bad first impression on the new students first day. She was of course correct, as she looked over the file. Looking up, Pepper saw the young Anya carry over her hefty luggage towards her. The always attentive administrator offered to help but was waved off, the freshman putting her bags down as Pepper introduced herself.

"Hi, I'm Pepper the student liason and welcome to Avengers Academy. I've prepared a folder for you, telling you everything you need to know about the academy. It should also have information on where your room is and your classes. Also some of the students have already gathered in the Club so feel free to head over there if you get the chance."

Anya looked in the direction that Pepper pointed, seeing Club A nearby. The reliable redhead noticed another girl coming towards them, fire surrounding her golden skin. She didn't need to check her tablet as it was obvious it was one of their more powerful new students, Nova. Pepper turned her attention back to Anya just in case she needed anymore help before introducing herself to the other fresh face.

Anya nodded at the redhead as she picked the folder from her "Thank you!" She said, with an excited smile as she made her way towards the Club, carrying her bag with her and reading through the file to know what she would be doing around here. When she was far enough from miss Pepper, she covered her mouth with her hands and giggled to herself, happy and excited from finally being here. She bit on her lower lip as she read through her schedule, and a bit about the school itself, focusing on important staff members if she needed any help, and then looking at which dorm she would be staying at. She hoped she would have the place to herself, mostly because she was rather messy, and didn't want to have someone be angry at her for it.

She felt her stomach grumble, remembering she hadn't anything to eat in the past few hours, and the fact she didn't eat anything before coming over, since she had been too nervous to get anything down the hatch, she really needed to stop overlooking this sort of stuff. She popped her lips and placed the folder in one of her bags, before slumping it over her shoulder and continuing her trek to the Club, where the promise of food awaited her, and most likely the other students, too. She bit her lip and gulped nervously, straightening her jacket and shirt, as well and tidying her ponytail up, after all, she had to make a good impression on her future classmates! Or at least not embarrass herself on her first ten minutes in school grounds. She cleared her throat and put on her best friendly smile as she entered the boundaries of the place.

Anya felt her heart hammering against her chest when she saw the other students around, and her smile quickly melted into an expression of nervousness and insecurity. She cleared her throat and shook her head slightly "Keep your cool, Aña. Keep your cool." She thought, as she managed to calm herself slightly, at least enough not to freeze in place. She looked around, trying to spot the place where one could get food around here, letting out a sigh of relief when she saw she was not too late for it at all. She made her way over towards the food, and picked up a small plate, serving herself a generous amount of scrambled eggs, a few strips of bacon, and some toasts in all their heart-stopping glory, before grabbing a mug and filling it with milk. She sought a place among the table and sat herself down, not really paying much attention to those around her as much as she was focusing on her food, which she promptly dug in on with a ravenous appetite.

Julio woke up hanging half way off of his bed. While his body felt rested, no longer weak from the overexertion of his powers from Pym's lab tests, he personally was feeling worse for ware. As far as powers went, his hadn't seemed all too useful up to this point. From his first disastrous release to having been too drained to even help in the fight the night before, he felt pretty useless.

He'd ended up slinking away from the action and for the first time since meeting Cable he had been more scared of the power he was seeing in the other's than of his own. Which on some level was sobering, and a little comforting, if not more than a little disheartening. Though it seemed for him not many things weren't disheartening for some reason.

Julio sat up flexing his arms surprised to find them sore, a similar feeling running down his legs. He hadn't started any formal training yet, and classes would begin today which meant he shouldn't be so hard on himself. This is what school was for to improve yourself and yet he couldn't shake a niggling voice in his head that was telling him to run away.

He jumped out of bed and into the shower to try and clear his mind. This Academy was the best thing to have happened to him. He HAD to believe that.

Julio's wet hair stuck to his face and wetting the back of his shirt as he rushed to the leave the dark room - the blinds shuttered against the morning sun. Going out the door he stepped on a piece of paper, an invitation to an Orientation breakfast. His appetite was already lacking this morning, probably due to his foul mood, and the idea of pushing some eggs around a plate while hearing about last night from his peers was enough to turn him off the entire thing completely.

Instead he struck out across the quad. Before he'd really realized where his feet were taking him, Julio found himself near the gates of the academy. He'd had the intent to wander aimlessly and yet his feet were casting their vote to leave all together. He harrumphed loudly and sat petulantly on the nearest bench, arms crossed as waited for the first bell. He had between now and then to wallow in his self inflicted drama.

Julio was surprised to see Pepper at the gate and wondered if students were still arriving. A girl with all the trappings of a new student and a comet shaped girl landing from the sky was enough to answer his question. Life would go on, all he had to do was actually participate and yet all he could seem to muster was sitting here like a child. He forced himself to stand and approach the new students. The one with luggage quickly headed for club A so he steered his butt towards the Comet girl.

"Pretty impressive, Miss Comet. Are you also going to be a student here?" He asked, with a wave to catch her attention. @Karcen

Nova had been thinking about what to do as she didn't actually eat anymore, she barely slept as often she had to travel  for days to find a good enough planet for her master. That did leave her out of the whole share breakfast with some friends thing that the other students were doing. Well to share anything with friends you first needed to have friends and given who she worked for and that she had been gone for quiet some time she could not say she had any friends in the school. Still she could easily have gone in and tried to make small talk, but what to talk about she was not exactly caught up in the latest worldly gossip. She could have always asked about hydra, as no matter how many times you killed them they always came back.  It seemed int he end that such thought had been pointless as someone had decided to approach her while  she  thought about what exactly to do.  His question was obviously just an ice breaker as if she was not a student what would she be doing here, well she could be a teacher if she  tapped into the knowledge Galactus gave her through the power cosmic she could likely revolutionize a field of science or two.

" My name is Nova and yes i will be a student for at least a short time till i need to go back to work" she explained using her  superhero or herald name instead fo her normal name " And i assume the same is mostly true of you, though your likely to stay longer than me" she half asked and half stated.

@myvalentina

Nova's manner of speaking was very straight forward and Julio bristled a little, not sure what he had expected from the young woman.

"I mean I don't think I've been in the game long enough to qualify for any kind of job so..." He shrugged. Picturing himself in some kind of super hero uniform was too strange so he shook the image away. "Are you uh... are you an alien?" He asked, figuring she'd come from outer space, but not entirely sure since she wasn't like a weird skin color or had any extra appendages. @Karcen

Nova laughed she guessed she did look rather alien, but this was the one world where she was not a alien.  It might be a bit odd to explain but there was little reason to hide what she did and why she looked the way she did.

" No I am human, I was born and raised on earth. My current look is because I am the herald of Galactus" she said not trying to sugar coat who she worked for and what that meant " So as a benefit of the job I get the power comic it made me a golden living star in human form" she said casually.

Normally admitting such a  thing cause mass panic that the world eater woudl soon visit the world and it would be no more, but Galactus had promised not to devour earth; though he was often tempted.  This  might scare the kid ff as she had very little faith in peoples courage when faced with the active and willing herald of Galactus as before they had only spoken to his reluctant herald.

" But I lead him to a few worlds so i have some down time, thought i woudl come home for awhile" She said with a smile to hopefully put the boy at ease.

Julio wasn't well versed in super heroes, and could probably only refer to some of the more prominent ones hanging about. The x-men came to mind, but even then he'd lived a pretty sheltered life in some sense to not have had to think about super heroes or villains until he developed his powers. That being the case he just nodded as Nova explained herself, a little blank faced at her mention of Galactus. All he could tell was that he sounded important.

"That is some perk! You get dental too?" He joked. A 'herald' seemed very vague, but sounded angelic, which immediately brought to mind white feathery wings and halos more than fiery stars. So he asked, "Do you like your job?"

@Karcen

Did she like her job, now there was a good question. She did enjoy the freedom, the exploration, and of course she did enjoy the powers. She didnt enjoy picking the races and workd that died, only ever saving a few before her master arrived. To most the answer would have been obvious, but she jad learned much after losing his gormer herald Galactus had been fairly forthcoming in why he ate worlds. So she knew his reasobs and feelings and hated it a little less it was required.

" Yeah I would have to say in the end I like it, like any job parts suck but finding worlds and annoucing Glactucus' coming is decent enough. But hey he won't be coming here so it is all fine She explained throwing the last bit in just in case yhe guy got scared. " You know i just realized i forgit to ask your name i just went on about myself sge half said half asked

Her answer was fair, and he imagined it probably was quite the same feeling as when he'd worked for his family. Though it had culminated in death and disaster those parts hadn't been able to erase the good about those years.

He steered away from that line of thinking though, chuckling as he introduced himself to Nova.

"Rictor." He said, not bothering with his full name, for similar reasons as why he'd had to stop himself from thinking about his past. A new place meant a new name and Rictor was good enough. "And don't worry about it. I have nothing interesting to share just yet. Wait until classes start though, I'm sure I'll have more to talk about then." Dismissing himself was second nature.

"Which speaking of classes, they can't come quickly enough. I want to get started." He said impatiently.

Natalia looked at the new girl as she entered the Club. She was almost finished with her yoghurt as she watched her. The girl sat down near her and she tilted her head to the side. Glad that the newcomer gave her a reason to stay and officially fix her attention on her instead of the man. But at the same time she was able to keep an eye on the Winter Soldier. @FarFlungDreamer @Battle-Sister May

"So you're new here, aren't you?", Natalia spoke and looked at the girl. She was sure that she hadn't seen her around so far. So that meant that she hadn't been here the day before. It was unlike her to not at least know who had attended the school. She might not have talked to everyone but at least she knew who went her. In case someone would get dangerous or knew about her past. Fury had advised to keep her link to the KGB for herself for now. Being a Russian assassin and spy mostly didn't go well with other people. @FarFlungDreamer

Tony Stark

Tony glanced at the guy next to him as soon as he mentioned to say 'hi' to his father. His mood almost dropped instantly. But not because of the reminder of the death but because someone had the nerve to talk to him about his father. The man who had sent him off to boarding school and always had bad mood if he visited the family over the holidays or Christmas. Tony only remembered his father either drunk or talking about the "oh so great" Captain America.

"How about you go and tell him?!", he hissed and looked pissed at the man as he continued "If he was such a great friend of yours. How come you don't even know that he died? What kind of shitty person doesn't even know his friend died!?" He shook his head and emptied the second cup before rising to his feet to get a third. It was more of an excuse to get away from that guy. @FarFlungDreamer

Died? Oh. Crap. Of course, Tony was old, and his son... that meant Howard must be an old man. So of course it was reasonable he died, too. Why his brain couldn't have pieced all that together like it ought to before it became a scene, Bucky wasn't sure. Bucky found Tony's choice in words ironic. Just died? What kind of shitty person shot his best friend and tried to break his neck before waking up and realizing he was trying to murder his best friend.

"I, uh, only knew him through a friend, vaguely," He said hastily. How did he come up with a reasonable explanation that didn't go down a path where he obviously couldn't have known a young Howard Stark in WWII and still maintain some sort of cover. Where he didn't need to explain he didn't know he died because he'd been to busy as Russia's mindless assassin?

On instinct, his eyes darted around desperately for Steve... who would have the right answer for this situation. Who he could trust to come up with a smooth, non-lie and would get Bucky out of the confusing trap he'd walked himself into. He'd wash right over the situation and assure Bucky it was normal to mix up time, or people's ages, when they two been displaced in one way or another. But Steve wasn't there, Bucky had led him away. It was his own fault he had no one to lean on in this situation. His eyes paused to land on that red head thoughtlessly. @Jessy753

He glanced back at Tony, and decided he was going to have to get himself out of this one. No one else was going to after all.

"So I guess I'm only half as shitty, then," He called sarcastically. Well, that was the best he could do. Steve would have done it much better, he knew that... but that was all Bucky had. "Listen, I was just trying to act like I knew someone you did," He lied, and hoped that would ease the situation, or that when he stalked off Tony wouldn't mention it again. That he wouldn't think on it and see obvious holes in Bucky's conversation with him. @Jessy753
