    [div class=tag]body type[/div] Areum is petite. She has a thin frame that has small curves. It isn't that she totally lacks feminine curves that other girls have, she just doesn't have very much. It's hard a first glance to know her body proportions. She had longer legs than she does torso. Areum's legs are very thin, a bit on the 'unnatural' side of thinness. They don't get used, so it's been easy for them to slightly wither.
    [div class=tag]hair[/div] Areum naturally has very dark hair. It it pin straight and she often leaves it as such. Though recently she has dyed it a reddish brown color. She really likes it and plans on keeping the tone. The length of her hair stops at her upper back. She normally wears it down, sometimes she curls it, it just depends on the day really.

Because Areum's wheelchair is self-propelled, as well as her heavy reliance on her upper body for living, her arms have a bit of meat to them. She'd probably surprise a lot of people by beating them in arm wrestling.

Bright colors, fun patterns, weird bags, whatever it may be, she likes the eccentric look. Her idea is that she'd like to give someone something to stare at other than her set of wheels. Plus, looking cute always makes her feel good. She tends to stay more on the sweet cutesy side than anything when picking out an outfit.

    Oh ho boy, Areum is one heck of a personality. Loud and excitable, she has this intense love for life that often shocks people due to her physical condition. The girl is extremely friendly and wants to be besties with practically anyone. She is kind hearted and will do anything to make others smile. A lot of people assume she's a ditz because of her stupid jokes and dumb comments. In all actuality, Areum is very smart. She has always excelled in school and loves to think deeply about the world around her. She has a strong pull towards anything creative. She really enjoys poetry and writing herself. While she can't draw a stick figure, she also appreciates art in all forms. If you get her talking, don't expect her to stop. She is a chatter box that will yack your ear off. Sometimes it's something that doesn't make sense or really random, other times it's philosophical and intelligent. But no matter the topic it's a fast paced rambly grable that's full of run on sentences and unfinished thoughts.

    While she is bubbly, she is also so nosy. She wants to know everybody's business and be involved. While some people like this about her (because she a one stop shop for gossip), if you are a subject of her nosy ways, it can be off putting. She is a terrible liar and is pretty bad at keeping secrets. It's not that she doesn't want to keep it in, often times she just forgets that it was a secret to begin with and just let's it slip. Areum is scatterbrained. She can't keep focused on one thing for an long time, making it difficult for her to get her work done or keep her word. She tries her best, but things easily slip her mind when it's running at a million miles an hour. A people pleaser in the purest sense of the word, Areum wants to be liked by everybody. If you don't like her, oh it's her personal challenge to make you like her. This can cause her self-esteem to fluctuate and make her a bit moody sometimes. The girl is also incredibly clingy and will be all over her friends (to the best of her ability). She's often called needy and will bug everyone until someone hangs out with her.

She's also a hopeless romantic and a serial crusher, so she probably has made over half the boys she's even met love alarm ring. She's never really done anything about it. Though she doesn't admit it, Areum believes she high maintenance so she doesn't want to burden someone by dating her. Her love life is really her last little hurdle for her to get over when it comes to her disability.

She tries her best to get along with everyone in every group. Not wanting to stay in one place for very long, she will often spend time with more than one clique in a day.

    [div class=tag]history[/div] Areum was the second child born to MooYoung and SongYi two years after her older brother WooJae. She was welcomed with open arms and warm hearts. Her older brother, even if he was only a toddler, wanted to do everything to help their Eomma take care of baby Areum. Her early childhood was normal, easy even. Silver spoon awarded to her at birth, Areum's father is a successful lawyer who makes good money and her mother a well known news anchor. Their family never really struggled much in that area. She, herself, was a bit spoiled, being the baby and all, but Areum wasn't a brat like some other rich kids. She always liked to get along with everyone.

    From elementary to middle school, WooJae and Areum got very close. The pair were inseparable. They did just about everything together. He was one of her closest friends. They spent lazy days watching movies, playing board games and card games, and just doing random stupid things. WooJae had a huge influence on his younger sister. Whatever he did, Areum wanted to do too. When WooJae hit high school, things changed a bit. He was at the age where he didn't really want to hang out with his 14 year old sister, but instead chose his friends a lot. At first it hurt her, but then she realized that she couldn't be selfish. Her brother had every right to hang out with his friends. He still loved her and the time they did spend together was always good.

    What Areum didn't realize until she hit high school was that WooJae's friends weren't exactly the best crowd. They partied a lot. And her brother was no different. Apparently right under their parents noses he was sneaking out and going to crazy parties. But the thing was, Areum didn't think it was wrong. She thought it was cool and she wanted in. She started tagging along. By day she was a good student who played volleyball and ran track. A well thought of student and upright in all she did. By night she was a known party girl. Almost every weekend she was at someone's house party. She, and her brother, were quite popular both inside and outside of school. The only thing Areum wasn't okay with was drinking alcohol. Being underage, she didn't exactly want to get busted and get in bigger trouble. If she was just there to dance and hang out, what was the problem? That didn't stop WooJae from drinking, in fact, he loved to drink. And that's what ultimately got them into trouble.

    Areum wasn't exactly a fan that her brother was drunk this particular night just after turning 16. I mean, she didn't like he got drunk at all, but it was his life and he was a few weeks she of being legally able to drink anyways, so she normally kept her mouth shut. Not only was WooJae drunk, but so were his friends who they were with. And one of them offered to drive them home. Areum knew it was a terrible idea. Drunk driving was incredibly dangerous, but WooJae convinced her it would be fine. It was only like ten minutes away anyways, what was the worst that could happen? Well, the worst did happen. The roads were slick due to the rain that had recently slowed as they drove. On their way, the driver went left of center. While they didn't crash into the other car that was coming the other direction, her brother's friend swerved violently to avoid it. This put the car into a dangerous hydroplane that threw them off the road. Their car flipped twice, crashing into a tree.

    If one were to look at pictures of the crash, they'd be amazed anyone survived. Out of the five in the car, Areum, her brother and one other boy were the only three to survive the initial crash. While all three were recovered from the crash, WooJae unfortunately died on the table from his injuries. She had barely made it through her first round of surgeries herself. Areum's world came crashing down around her. Her health would never be the same. She was in a coma for two weeks. They had been afraid that she'd never wake up, or if she did, she could have suffered brain damage that only worsened. She did eventually wake up, only to hear that she had suffered a spinal cord injury that left her paralyzed from the waist down as well as that her brother didn't make it.

    Areum was devastated for a long time. She was angry. Angry at her brother. Angry at the driver. But mostly angry at herself. During her long recovery, she was a completely different person. Before she was loud, fun, and bright. Now she was reserved, temperamental, and depressed. For almost a whole year, she wasn't herself. But she didn't want to love with anger and resentment for her whole entire life. She was going to be paralyzed, yes, Areum couldn't change that fact. But she viewed that as punishment enough for what had happened. She had made a mistake, one that cost the girl her health, but she wouldn't let it take her happiness too. She wouldn't let her disability destroy her life like other people did.

    Her first step was forgiving her brother. Just as she had paid her price by loosing the ability to walk, he paid his with his life. She didn't want to hate him any more. She didn't want to let WooJae's one bad decision decide how she remembered him. Next was acceptance of her new found disability. Her life became more difficult, so it took her a lot longer than she thought to find peace with it. She couldn't change what her limitations were, but she could change how her limitations affected her. She was inspired by other people who went through a similar injury. People who did, and still do, incredible things despite it being hard. She wanted to be one of those people. Areum wouldn't let her injury define her, no matter how great it was she could only be herself.

    Kang MooYoung|Appa (48): Areum and her Appa have always had a special relationship. Maybe it's the father daughter thing, but she's always looked up to him. He's very bold but also loving and passionate. He's a hard worker and does his very best. After the accident, while he was disappointed in his children for lying to them for all this time, he didn't let it show. He only showed her love and support. MooYoung doesn't speak of WooJae. She isn't sure if it's because he is still angry at him or if it just hurts too much. When he died, her father was still warm but he lost a lot of his tenacity. She wonders if he'll every fully recover for the loss of his son.

    Kang SongYi|Eomma (45): The girl is very close with her Eomma. SongYi is a very soft spoken and reserved person, she used to be quite the opposite before the accident. She often worries, but she is so self sacrificing. Areum knows she blames herself for what happened. Her Eomma thinks that if she had only paid better attention then her son would still be alive and her daughter able to walk. When Areum needed more care, especially at the beginning, SongYi did quit her job and took care of her full time. The girl will always be thankful for her. She wouldn't be where she was today without her Eomma. The only thing that annoys Areum is she is a bit of a helicopter, looking over her shoulder and peeping into her business all the time.

    Kang WooJae|Oppa (died at age 18): If you would have asked Areum how she felt about her brother a year ago, you would have gotten a very different answer from now. They were two peas in a pod before he died. He was her protector and her confidant. So she trusted him completely. After what happened, she resented her brother. She felt that her trust had been misplaced and she should have never listened to him. At one point she wished they would have hated each other when he was alive so nothing could have happened. But now her attitude has softened. WooJae was only human. She didn't want one action to completely erase the intense love she had for him. Areum has since forgiven him for getting into the car and convincing her to do the same. She realized after than just how much she misses him. The girl still hasn't completely delt with his loss since she avoided even thinking about him for so long. She never really grieved over him, leaving her still emotionally scared by his passing.

    Min-Joon was welcomed to the Oh family on the 25th of August in Seoul, South Korea. His parents, Jin-Hye and Beom-Seok, had always hoped for a large family. Min-Joon was child number five and the youngest of the family which was made up of his parents and four older brothers. His four older brothers, Shi-Won, Young-Su, Jae-Hui and Sung-Jin, were all adored their new baby brother. Shi-Won was the oldest, having been thirteen when Min-Joon was born. Young-Su was ten, Jae-Hui was eight and Sung-Jin was six. Therefore, all the boys knew that they had to do their best to protect their little baby brother at all costs. They took turns to help their Umma and Appa to care for Min-Joon as they helped to change his nappy, feed him his meals and bottles, clothed him, bathe him and even put him to sleep. As Shin-Won was the oldest, he took it upon himself to encourage his parents to allow him to babysit Min-Joon and the others so they could spend more time together.

    [div class=tag1]3 years to 8 years[/div]​

    It was around the time that Min-Joon was six that Beom-Seok and Jin-Hye realised that their son was different from their others. He was so easily overwhelmed by high levels of stimulation, sudden changes and even the emotional distress of others. Sometimes he was like an old man, asking deep, thought-provoking questions, being bothered by noisy places and wanting to go and play quietly by himself, and using rather large words for his age. He was sensitive to the smallest of pain and took his time to investigate to ensure things were safe before using them. The neighbourhood children would often tease him, calling him a crybaby as he seemed to tear up over the smallest things. His parents were so concerned that they even brought him to a child psychologist. After a couple of visits, the doctor came to the conclusion that there was nothing wrong with Min-Joon, but that he was an emotionally sensitive child.

    This meant having to change their approach to discipline around him. They accepted Min-Joonโ€™s sensitivity, provided a great deal of downtime for him while also setting limits, verbally praised him for his efforts and taught him how to describe how he was feeling. They provided him with rewards whenever he verbally communicated to them his thoughts and emotions rather than bottling it all up and crying in his room like he would have normally done. To help with his cognitive thinking skills and logical processing skills, Beom-Seok decided to start teaching Min-Joon how to play the guitar. It seemed like something just clicked in Min-Joonโ€™s brain the moment he held that guitar. He felt like he was at home and he could now express himself not just with words, but through a creative force.

    [div class=tag1]9 to 15 years[/div]​

    Throughout his puberty, Min-Joon tried to take no (or at least, very little) interest in girls. His brothers were always trying to help him find a girlfriend or to get him to have his first kiss, but Min-Joon was always too scared to follow through. Every time he thought about going up to a girl he liked, he felt like his stomach was being twisted into knots and he would eventually end up vomiting all over the girlโ€™s face. So, instead, he just kept his head down and would immerse himself in schoolwork. It was around this time that he began to get bullied at school for his features. The bullies would often pick on how bland he looked and how his teeth were crooked. He pleaded with his parents to get braces or surgery to fix his teeth, but they told him that there just wasnโ€™t enough money to buy those things.

    Instead, with their blessings, he decided to get his first job at the age of fifteen. He started to work at a nearby shopping centre after school for three hours a day and full time on the weekends as a stock boy. His goal was to raise the money by himself and to get those damn braces.

    [div class=tag1]15 years to present[/div]​

    So much stuff has happened in the last few years of Min-Joonโ€™s life. For starters, he raised the money for his braces and ended up getting them around his birthday. As a present from his brothers, they took him to get his first pierced ear. Soon after that, Beom-Seok was diagnosed with stomach cancer and given months left to live. Thankfully, those months turned into a full year before his Appa passed away. With his Appa gone, he felt an overwhelming sense of responsibility on his shoulders to help his Umma. All his other brothers were now out of the house, either doing their military services or living with their significant others. So, it was up to him to help his Umma out.

    He decided to pick up a job at a local cafรฉ, Cloud Nine, and decided he would work when he wasnโ€™t at the school or studying. He had big plans to study music in university and to continue on with the dreams that his Appa had helped him to grow. However, he shortly discovered that every time he practised his guitar or piano, he would find his Umma in tears. Hearing music in the house reminded her of Appa and it tore her apart. Therefore, with a broken heart, he decided that maybe music wasnโ€™t his path or destiny anymore. He instead decided to aim to enrol in Biological Sciences, knowing that his Umma and Appa would be proud of him as most of the university research was used to prevent and treat cancer. And so, for now, he had to focus on the things in life that would make his Umma happy as she had spent her whole life ensuring everyone else was. Even if that meant giving up the one thing in life that made him truly happy himself.     [div class=tag1]Oh Beom-Seok - Deceased - Appa[/div] His Appa was the one that invited him into the wonderful world of music. Beom-Seok had been the main guitarist for a band in his early young adult years. When Jin-Hye came into his life and fell pregnant with Shi-Won, he decided it was time to trade in his guitar position for a job to provide for his family. He had had many jobs over the years, but nothing could beat working at Everland and working with the animals in the Safari Zone. Min-Joon was sixteen when his Appa was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He was told that he only had a couple of months left to live but ended up staying on this beautiful Earth for another year. A couple of months before Min-Joonโ€™s seventeenth birthday, he peacefully passed away in their family home, surrounded by his wife and wonderful sons.

    [div class=tag1]Oh Jin-Hye - Umma[/div] Jin-Hye had always been a stay at home wife. She had been halfway through her university studies to become a lawyer when she fell pregnant with Shi-Won, so decided to place her studies on hold. However, she never managed to get back into her studies as their family continued to grow. It wasnโ€™t until Min-Joon was thirteen that she decided to get back into the workforce. However, due to her lack of education, she was only able to pick up mundane jobs such as a waitress in a Korean BBQ restaurant or working at the closest 7/11 shop. When Beom-Seok became ill, she quit her jobs and decided to become her husbandโ€™s full-time carer. She lost her best friend and the love of her life as he was slowly taken away by cancer. It took her another ten months before she had the courage and strength to start looking back into the workforce, having spent the last two years living off of loans. She works hard to try and pay off the loans and often feels bad that Min-Joon and her other sons offer her money to pay for bills.

    [div class=tag1]Oh Shi-Won - The eldest brother[/div] At the age of 32, the eldest Oh sibling is married with two children, working as a primary school teacher. Shi-Won was like Min-Joonโ€™s second mom growing up. Whenever the other children in the neighbourhood used to tease him, Shi-Won would run over and smack those boys like rice bags in a supermarket. Sure, he got into a fair amount of trouble for hitting children who were younger than him. But he couldnโ€™t bear to see his little brother so upset and self-conscious about his own body. He has a caring, extroverted personality which is perfect for him as he cares for children.

    [div class=tag1]Oh Young-Su - The second brother[/div] Young-Su is 29 years old and living with his boyfriend of four years, with plans on getting married at the end of the year. The second brother of the Oh family only came out to everyone two years ago after his boyfriend was beginning to get upset that he was being kept a secret for so long. The pair of them wanted to move in together for so long, but Young-Su was afraid that his family wouldnโ€™t be accepting of his lifestyle (especially Jae-Hi who had always made homophobic remarks). However, he decided that he needed to do it before his father died. Afterwards, he had questioned himself to why he didnโ€™t tell them sooner as they were all accepting of him and his boyfriend โ€“ even Jae-Hi.

    [div class=tag1]Oh Jae-Hui - The third brother[/div] 27 years of age and Jae-Hui is currently going through his mandatory military service with four months left. Before going onto his service, Jae-Hui was working as a pastry chef in a five-star restaurant. He is currently engaged to his university sweetheart, and expecting their first child in five months time. In the military, he is stationed as a kitchen hand and cook, where he had the opportunity to feed hundreds of men every day. As a child, Jae-Hui found comfort in creating different meals and food combinations, and would often test these combinations on Min-Joon who would eat anything you place in front of him.

    [div class=tag1]Oh Sung-Jin - The fourth brother[/div] Sung-Jin is 25 years old and is preparing for his own mandatory military service induction. This brother had just finished his time in training to become a police officer and has decided to start the process of his military services to get it out of the way. He knows that his biological clock is ticking, and wants to finish his training before he meets the one and falls in love. Sung-Jin is a hopeless romantic and when he falls in love, he falls hard. Often, this leads to him having his heartbroken and vowing women off. That is, until he sees someone who could be the one and goes back into that routine again [/div][/div][/div][/div]

    Even if no one compares Rin to her older sister Hyun-Ae, she still feels as if she is expected to be as successful as her. Hyun-Ae is an idol who debuted in the well-known group STARBRIGHT. However, Hyun-Ae fits her role of older sister better than anyone. She pays close attention to her sister's varying behaviors and is as headstrong as her mother in trying to get Rin to therapy. Though, she does not get to visit her sister as much due to the responsibilities of being an idol. Nonetheless, Rin does make sure to go to some concerts and meet-ups in order to root her sister on.

    Rin was born the morning of June 18th to two loving and doting parents. Rin was a very happy baby and always man aged to laugh at anything set in front of her. Her sister, Hyun-Ae, would make good fun of trying (well, not exactly) to make her little sister life and succeeded every single time. Once Rin was of age, her parents agreed to place her into the acting industry and soon enough she was snatched up by some companies and turned into a child actress. She became a couple's child, a main character's little sister, and an orphan in the span of a few years into grade school. Being as young as she was, she did not exactly understand the significance of acting until she was 5 years old. It was then when she developed her love for acting and being the "star" of the show. When she began entering a more tiring phase of her minature acting career, Rin's high grades were dwindling and she became increasingly tired with every passing day. Her parents, upon observing this, decided to take her out of the company and ignored any protests from the company or Rin.

    Once she entered middle school, she renewed her love for theatre through her theatre class along with any friends who also loved the same drama shows. They would fangirl (and fanboy, for the few guy friends she had) about a variety of shows, all of them knowing each actor and actress extensively. Rin missed the excitement that being on set brought and therefore had a mission to persuade her parents to allow her back into the industry. The process was tedious, and her parents were especially stubborn in granting their daughter's wish in fear that her academic life would suffer. Yet, Rin made good points and how could the two loving parents deprive their daughter of what she truly desired? Once she was able to beg her parents to let her back into the acting industry, she was almost immediately approached by multiple recruiters.

    Throughout her middle school, she was balancing both schoolwork and acting all at once. At times, filming would last until the early mornings of the next day, leading to Rin getting barely any sleep for school that same day. It is still a miracle how she was able to keep up her grades with such a poor sleeping schedule. However, this is also when she began to develop her other bad habits.

    The company she chooses to join had specific requirement for their actresses and being under a certain weight was one of them. To then, Rin was overweight (though she was still pretty skinny for a person her age) and hence started the cycle of hell Rin is still trapped in today. Every time she would check into the set, she was immediately criticized for how "fat" she was, and that she was not trying hard enough to lose weight. They even threatened to have her kicked out of the company, which only worsened Rin's self-confidence and diet. She was able to reach that weight goal set by the company, but she was still scarred by the trauma and therefore carried on with her eating disorder (oblivious to the long-term effects it would have).

    Rin was able to participate in 2 major rom-coms, one of them she became the main actress (hence earning her a decent handful of fans and love alarms). She had to drop out of one (a show where she was more of a background character than anything) in order to properly balance high school and her love for acting.

    During her last year of middle school, Rin had gone through yet another horrible experience: heartbreak. In the midst of youthful ignorance, Rin soon developed a crush on one of her co-actresses, but would only refer to it as childish adoration. It was when she would feel the disgusting sinking of her stomach (she later determined as jealousy) when her crush would be lurking around the handsome male actors that she realized her crush was definitely not just admiration. Unfortunately, with how unaccepting South Korea was of those who were not heterosexual, she made an effort at keeping her crush a secret. Though, as soon as the co-actress began to date one of the co-actors, Rinโ€™s adoration for her immediately fell apart. After that, she became desperate to feel loved, maybe in order to feel the void in her heart that the co-actress had previously inhabited. With every fleeting glance and kiss the co-actress would give to her newfound boyfriend, Rin's mood would worsen. Perhaps it would be better if she tried to date males rather than females, that way she would not only avoid being kicked out of the company for hr sexuality, but also feel less horrible about watching "what could have been" with a heavy heart. yet, she only felt attraction to a few males, and even then she dared not own up to her feelings. She still felt heartbroken and swore to never let herself fall for anyone that quick anymore (yet the possibility of that statement happening was very unlikely).

    When the Love Alarm app began to take off, the company then required all actors and actresses to download the app, using it as a measurement to see how good their performances are according to those who watch the show religiously. Thankfully, Rin was able to have enough people who seemingly love her to stay within the company and that she was able to resolve the crush she had on her co-star before the upcoming of this dreadful app. But who knows how long that will last...

    persona: Mina is a very friendly person and is always willing to branch out to building new friendships. While she may seem like a shut in and introvert to the naked eye she makes a huge effort to make nice with those around her. She can handle herself very well in stressful situations whether they be verbal or physical. She's a sensitive bean and takes care when dealing with others so as to not come off as mean spirited towards anyone. She's a huge foodie an somewhat of a chef and loves eating more than anything. Giving her food is always an easy way to get on Mina's good side.     relationships: Mina is very close to her family and always keeps in contact with her brother whenever she can. Mina is also very close to her mothers She's closer to Hyunae than Seyeon, yet she still loves them. She has a very interesting relationship with Soobin who started out as her math tutor and funny enough she had a fondness that drew herself to him, he was friendly and patient with her despite the fact that she took a while to understand a lot of concepts. The two would go back and forth about their dreams and what they did and eventually they started hanging out together.

    background: Mina was put up for adoption when she was two not knowing who her original family was and never meeting them. She was adopted by two married women who been together for ten years at the time, Hyunae and Seyeon. They had a son name Jisung who was born from a donor father who became a very close friend to the family. Growing up, Mina was born with deficiencies like really bad hay fever and year round asthma. Her sickness usually kept her out of doing sports which was something she really wanted to do, most notably soccer which was something she was really good at. But she couldn't play in Spring and Summer which is when her asthma like to act up. In elementary school she had a rough time making new friends, her hair was always messy, she didn't have any dress sense, and classmates would make fun of her mothers marriage which gave her depression early in life.

    She wasn't good at school either which lead to her mother, Seyeon being really rough with her, pressuring her to get the best grades she could get. But the pressure just made things worse for her and she couldn't find any sort of counsel from her problems. Her other mother, Hyunae always treated Mina like an angel. She understood how rough things were for Mina, she could tell in the way she acted and looked everyday coming from school. Jisung on the other hand always kept himself isolated from his family considering he was the only male in the house and was older than Mina by four years. Mina did her best to find some common ground with Jisung and the one thing they both ended up liking in common was video games. They would play cooperatively on their playstation 2 and other game consoles they would get as time passed, developing a close bond between the two.

    Eventually when Mina was entering high school, she became a lot more independent when Jisung went off to college and her parents spent more time away from home working. So Mina would spend a lot of time learning how to cook her own meals. Her moms would leave her recipes she could easily make on her own whenever she came home from school or needed to prepare her own lunch for school. Eventually this opened Mina up to being an amateur cooks and exploring a lot of new recipes. In high school, Mina had an easier time making friends especially considering gaming a common interest amongst most students. When she got a laptop for her 16th birthday she did a lot of online gaming, mostly MOBAs and did a lot of club tournaments, making a lot of new friends.

    When love alarm released, Mina was very skeptical of the apps existence but caved in to the mob mentality and downloaded it. This eventually caused her to lose many friends in her gaming circle, especially in the gaming club when a lot of guys caught feelings for her. She didn't like the attention, especially when they were begging her to go out with them and gave her shit for not giving into their advances. She was berated by her old club members for so long that she eventually left the club. She still has a few friends from the club who still talk to her but that whole experience gave her a wave of depression and she wanted to delete Love Alarm if it costed her her friends. But she kept it anyway when she met a couple nice people from school and dated a few people from time to time which did give her a semblance of happiness but they lasted a couple months and Mina was close to dropping out the dating scene but she still keeps it, not too obsessed with it but keen on seeing if she could find someone she could love who would be worth spending eternity with.

    Soobin is an upper-middle class kid who grew up with parents he never really saw eye to eye with. He's very engaged with politics and socioeconomics and is very passionate about advocacy and standing up against injustice. He cares a lot about things his parents don't know too well about, where they are social and fiscal conservatives, Soobin considers himself a marxist and a socialist. While Soobin shows unconditional love for his parents, their divergence in values makes it hard for them to get involved with things outside of their normal family life. His sister on the other hand has somewhat of a best friend relationship with Soobin and they do a lot of things like shopping and eating together. At most times he feels alone and can't really find anyone who sees the world in a way similar to him. He hates Love Alarm and is disgusted of its very existence. How someone can collect data based on someones emotions for another person and the condescending stigma it has against those who will never have love reciprocated back to them.

    Soobin takes his actives seriously. He takes part in a lot of community volunteering that involve a lot of cultural events, especially pro lgbtq+ events and proving himself to be an ally of sexual minorities. He takes part in a lot of volunteer work for local unions and supporting the working people of his community whenever he can. This makes Soobin a social butterfly since he's always out and about dealing with people. He shows compassion and kindness to people and is aggressive against anyone who stands against him and what he stands for. Besides that he's also a very skilled academic who hates studying but understands the importance of education. He is very knowledgable in math, English, Korean composition, and history and finds a lot of satisfaction when learning in his desired subjects. Soobin is passionate about education and is excited to go to university to learn the things he has a passion for and find new subjects to learn.

    While Soobin is a social butterfly he's somewhat of an outcast in school and normally doesn't hang out with people from school as much because he dedicates himself to learning and improving his academics.     background: Born to a very well off family, Soobin grew up with an easy life with a loving family and things were pretty normal for him. He had friends come and go, got really good grades, and loved to read and write. Things changed for him when Soobin got into middle school though. He faced a lot of problems that involved his fellow classmates, one being that his close friend was gay and he hid it from Soobin because he was bullied and harassed for it yet Soobin didn't know until he committed suicide. The concept of homosexuality was puzzling to the adolescent Soobin but for someone to be driven to kill themselves cause of it was a heartbreaking thing. Soon had tried to get justice for his friend and the faculty wouldn't do anything about it, so he took matters into his own hands and ambushed the group of kids with all his rage, he used his uniform belt to beat the kids. But because he was outnumbered he was beaten pretty easily, though he did put up a good fight. But school staff caught them and they were all suspended which made Soobin's parents angry with him for a while. The next instance involved his science lab partner, she was a girl and things seemed a bit off for her. For the first couple of weeks the two worked together she was very bright and cheery but something happened and she wasn't that cheerful. Soobin tried to ask if she was ill but she dodged his questions. Weeks later it was confirmed that she was impregnated by a guy from another school and she went to get an illegal abortion, she was expelled and never heard from again. Soobin's anger started to build as he started to hate everything about how things worked against people who were clearly being wronged.

    In his first year of high school, Soobin was alone and had a lot of trouble keeping friends. No one really liked to talk to him for whatever reason, so he spent a lot of time on line chatting platforms where he could find new people to talk to. He met a lot of people online, not just other Koreans but foreigners as well. He wanted to learn English because it was spoken in a lot of circles that weren't open to Koreans. Little by little he picked up buts and pieces until he can speak conversationally and this gave him the chance to talk to other people from all over the world. He met not only people of different nationalities, but color, orientation, gender, and class. He met a lot of people less fortunate than he was and their problems. He learned a lot about the world when spending time online talking to other people. He found himself in a lot of progressive online circles and learned a lot about inequality and injustice and realized how much of it was when South Korea. This lead Soobin down a path of finding answers as to why things were so bad and came across the theoretical frameworks of Marxism and uplifting the oppressed. He learned a lot about lgbtq+ related issues and how to be an ally, which in turn made him a very passionate person. He dedicated a lot of time to community volunteering to improve the lives of those less fortunate than he was and started to take his studies seriously since he knew for a fact that he had to do well to be taken seriously by anyone so he could make his voice heard.

    persona: Toy is a fairly shy person when around lots of people. This is mainly due to the fact that he spent his childhood moving around a lot. He only settled in Korea in his early teens and he ended up in a middle school where everyone already knew each other. He struggled to connect to people when he was younger due to all the moving around and it took his entire childhood before he made any real friends. But he's very determined and well known for his intelligence now. He is well liked and has a lot of people he can go to for anything now. He's also a talented drummer and avid overwatch player which makes him more likeable. In his group of friends he works as a supportive friend who thinks in a positive way. Others think he's a bit idealistic though but those people don't realise that he is just trying to make the most out of a negative situation. He's spent too much time being sad to focus on the negative. He keeps an open mind to his friends' opinions and tries to operate in a way that is beneficial for many. This makes him quite reserved.

    He also has low self esteem and self image. He doesn't think he's handsome and so he subconsciously tries to be better at other things instead. He's kind of awkward and says the wrong things at the wrong times but he's trying and that counts for something. He has been trying to break out of his reserved nature for the last three to four years and he's happy with his efforts. He could have done a better job earlier on but his rejection of the truth tends to get the better of him. He doesn't like being insulted and is quite sensitive. Toy is a good kid who needs to learn to stand up for himself and what he believes in more but he's quite private and secretive of his childhood and family situation. He's mainly ashamed that he didn't have a stable life like many of his friends.

    When it comes to what he values in others, Toy loves with his full heart and is hurt easily which is why he stopped following his mother around the world. He hated seeing these people care for him and disappear without so much of a thought of how it would affect Toy. He sees the best in people which is quite dangerous when it comes to the wrong people. That's why he tries to stay on everyone's good side and he tends not to pick sides in a difficult situation. He tries to encourage others to do the morally right thing in any given scenario which can lead to conflict that Toy is never ready for. He just wants to do what's right and if that comes back around to bite him then so be it.

    Current Friends - Toy is in a band with a lead singer who plays piano with care (Kyungsoo), a kickass guitarist with a flair for the dramatic (Yejun) and a chill bassist who also happens to be one of his closest friends (Gunwoo). Toy and Gunwoo play Overwatch together in a squad of six. There's Minji and her twin sister Jihyo who were tanks, Hyunmin was their main DPR player, Gunwoo played support and their strategist Hongseok played anything with a gun. Toy attended a few study groups in his time and met a variety of people that he sees on a semi-regular basis. He gets a few random people wanting to be close with him but this makes him quite uncomfortable. Being in a band as a drummer normally means less attention but that didn't seem to be the case in this high school.
    Old Friends - Toy didn't really have friends growing up. He was always just the foreign kid with an accent who looked like he really didn't want to be there. He ended up being home schooled by tutors mainly and taken care of by nannies or babysitters. Even then the connection he thought he had with these people was tainted by the fact that they were receiving large sums of cash just to look after him and pretend they actually love him.

    background: Toy was born in Thailand, an only child to two very busy parents. He moved around a lot as a kid due to his mother's work and his father was too busy being a lawyer to take care of the only child they had. Instead of staying in an empty apartment in Bangkok, his mother wanted her only child close by incase anything bad happened and so Toy lived his live with various maids, assistants and tutors taking care of him whilst his mother treated him more like an accessory than a son. Thus he was very shy and didn't socialise much with people his own age. Toy felt like he wasn't really wanted and he soon realised that all his nannies, babysitters and tutors didn't really care for him and just wanted the money that came from an important business woman. He lived in various US states, London, Madrid, Mexico City and Berlin over the course of twelve years. He learned to speak English and Spanish due to living abroad with various nannies during his childhood along with Thai as that was what his parents spoke in. His parents divorced and his mother's money got a lawyer better than Toy's dad to dig up dirt and determine that the mother was a better parent for Toy and she got full custody over the boy.

    Eventually they found themselves in Seoul for his preteen years and Toy was sick of moving around so much. He knew his Uncle lived in Seoul so he asked both his parents and uncle if he could live in Seoul from now on. They all said yes and his life was instantly better as he had stability however he didn't speak Korean and was sent to a Korean middle school, not an international school in order to improve his Korean. To make matters worse, he joined the school during the middle of a school year when everyone already had their own groups of friends and everything sucked ass. However, Toy was determined to do well in Seoul as he didn't want to be with his mother when his Uncle Song was a better parent than anyone he'd ever had. For the remainder of middle school he got better at Korean and his grades improved. He was very intelligent despite the travelling he did as a child which could have squashed his brain cells. He was a language genius despite his meekness and a math whizz who could answer long form equations as if they were nothing.

    Going into high school, he was determined to keep his head down and focus on his studies however he found a new love, music. He joined the music club in high school and gravitated towards the drums. Once again he was like a fish in water. He could adapt to any new challenge he faced and he soon ended up befriending the musicians at his high school along with the gamers who would often break into the music room to hang out. He unexpectedly began to gain some fans. Without his knowledge, his instagram account name was spread and he began to gain a following despite his shy nerdy look. He didn't understand it. Was it the gaming? No. He mained Widowmaker but that was really it. Was it the music? He wasn't sure. The guitarists and singers had more talent and were very attractive. He wasn't hot enough for any of that. Or was it just because he was thai and that was interesting for some reason. That had to be it.

    Life went on for Toy. He gets good grades in all his classes and he even busks with his indie band (Glow) on Fridays and Saturdays. He has a part time job trying to save money for university because he's not taking his parents' money no matter how much they offer. He wants to be a music producer as well as be in a band. He's got it all figured out. Well, everything apart from dating. He has no clue when someone actually likes him romantically. The one time he thought he figured it out it ended up being just a girl from the music club at school being friendly. He's pretty aware that he can find literally anyone attractive in their own ways but apart from that a deep emotional connection is difficult to make. Toy is unsure what he wants in life but at least he can try and find new things. One thing's for sure, he's not going to download that Love Alarm app just to have to break a bunch of people's hearts. Whether he agreed with them or likes it, he doesn't deny that he is well liked in Hongdae and his own High School

He likes a few close friends as apposed to a large circle of kinda friends. But now, since he moved, he has yet to make any new friends. To be honest he likes it that way. He likes to keep to himself and just disappear into the crowd. Hyun is very hard-working. He isn't the smartest or the best, but he tries his absolute hardest. He gets good grades and behaves himself. He has big goals and ambitions. He has strong will and determination. While he may be quiet, Hyun is no spineless wimp. If challenged or in conflict, he will defend himself. He is very patient, so he is very calm and cool during trying situations. He tries his best to be brave for others.

    Hyun has a lot of difficulty with expressing his feelings. It makes it hard for him to properly deal with big changes in his life. He's become even more reserved in the past few months because of this. When his patients wears thin, he can easily snap, becoming more argumentative. He can be a bit insensitive at times with direct honesty about others. Hyun also has a strong moral compass and the tendency to judge those outside of it. To him, something that is wrong is wrong no matter what. Though, recently, that certainty has been challenged, making him conflicted.

    Befriending Hyun isn't too difficult if you take the initiative. You can trust he will be a loyal friend and a good companion. He tries hard to help his friends remain on the straightened arrow.

When HyunWoo was born, the family believed they were completed. There were a little under four years between him and his older sister. His parents didn't plan on having any more children. But SangEun came as a surprise when Hyun was seven years old. He was half excited to be a big brother and half nervous. He was never super close with his older sister. They never hated each other and got along just as you'd expect, but they were two very different people from the get go. Hyun has always been quiet, but his sister was always loud and opinionated. It sometimes caused some squabbling in the house. The family never had a lot in the ways of money. His Appa worked in construction while his Eomma worked for a local restaurant. They never went without thought. They always had just enough.

    Hyun enjoyed school. He mostly kept to himself, having a few close friends. He was fairly well liked by his class. He was one of the best baseball players on the team. His Appa could never murder someone. After a few days his Eomma explained to him that his father was being put on trial for the murder of a middle age woman and her daughter. He was convinced that his Appa didn't do anything wrong. He was so sure that he didn't worry about him going to prison at first. The fact that SangWoo claimed he was completely innocent made it even more clear that something was wrong. Soon the news broke out at school. Hyun became the subject of gossip. His name on everyone's lips. It seemed no one else had the same opinion that he did. They all thought that Hyun was the child of a murderer. He knew that eventually his Appa's name would be cleared and everything would go back to normal.

    When the trial began, and everything started coming to light, HyunWoo started to loose his conviction. As each piece of evidence came out it looked more and more suspicious. He didn't know who to believe. SangWoo who he had known his whole life to be a hard working quiet man who couldn't even spank his own children, or the finger prints, the money transfers, the dna evidence that screamed his Appa actually killed someone. No, not just one person but two. It horrified him the more he sat in that court room. With each new statement the whole image that he had of his own father was soiled.

    After two months of going back and forth, it was finally decided that his father would be sentenced to life in prison. HyunWoo was crushed. Now everyone believed he was the child of a murderer. Nothing would be the same. His family got so much hate from the community. He lost all his friends and his reputation. But he still couldn't decide who was right. Part of Hyun still believes his Appa, he wants to believe him. He wants to believe that he could never do such an awful, horrible thing. That he was framed or something was wrong.

    The family tried to stay where they were, tried to endure the hateful talk, the vandalism, and the judgemental glances. His Eomma just couldn't do it any more. Plus with all the court costs and lawyer fees, their family was in a lot of debt. His grandparents on his mother's side lived in Seoul, where his Eomma was originally from. So Hyun, his younger sister, and his mother all moved in with his grandparents. After the moved he wanted nothing to do with his old life. He didn't want to give any clues to anyone about where he was from or why he moved. He just wants to be ignored and disappear. Though he wants to make good grades so that he can become a police officer or a lawyer. Maybe if he did he could find out the real truth. And if it was the ugliest answer, if he served other people maybe he could make up for the monsterous thing his father did.

    [div class=tag]family[/div] Park MinJung|Eomma (44)- Hyun wants nothing more than to comfort and help his Eomma. She is so strong and brave. She puts on a happy face for her children, especially SangEun. He knows she isn't happy. Not in the slightest. Because he can hear her cry to herself in her bedroom. He couldn't imagine her pain. He hurt himself, but MinJung has spent years with SangWoo. Hyun knows she turned her back on his Appa. She believes all of what the police have said. He doesn't blame her for making up her mind, but sometimes they get into arguments because Hyun still has hope. She calls it foolishness.

    Park SangWoo|Appa (46)- He honestly doesn't know how to feel about his Appa. Hyun looked up to him for so many years. He was a generous hard working person. In his mind, SangWoo could have never hurt anyone. Though he can't argue away all the facts. The boy is just in denial, it happened too recently for him to have delt with it. Hyun is so conflicted, particularly in whether or not to keep in contact with him. Should he want to send letters and call him if he really did kill those people? Would he want SangWoo to have any part in his life if he was a murderer? It's something that bothers him constantly. But if anyone one asks about his Appa, he's quick to say that he died in a work accident with the added excuse of "I don't want to talk about it."

    Park MinJi|Noona (21)- MinJi lmoved abroad to study two years ago. She currently lives in Canada. They aren't super close. Hyun likes his sister, sure, but they barely talk. Part of him is a little upset that she didn't come home when things got bad. He wished that she could have helped her family, specifically their Eomma. But he can't say he blames her for staying away. MinJi never liked living at home and now that she's a free bird, he doesn't see her coming back.

    Park SangEun|Dongsang (10)- Hyun feels a huge sense of protection and responsibility for his younger sister. SangEun is a very sweet girl. She's quiet like he was (and still is). He wants to keep her safe from hatred. She doesn't know the whole truth about their father. Hyun doesn't exactly agree with his mother's decision to keep her completely in the dark, but he also doesn't want to be the one to tell her. He wants her to have a happy childhood. SangEun has already been through enough. The pair get along well. He likes to take her to the park or the library. He doesn't have any friends to hang out with so he chooses to spend time with her instead.

    As a teenager, Dong-hyun blossomed into a handsome young man. This fact, paired with his good grades and general friendliness, made him fairly popular at school. When Love Alarm first came out, he and his brother got it out of curiosity. Dong-hyun got a fair few rings, more than he'd expected. Saying that he didn't have time for relationships, he was initially ready to delete it. But in the end, he decided to just keep it muted, the idea of experiencing his first love lurking in the back of his head.

    Dong-hyun is a good kid at heart, although the 'kid' part of that statement is often ignored. Essentially being a replacement parent for his younger siblings, he was forced to grow up faster than most people his age. Because of this, he's used to putting others before himself. He's willing to sacrifice his own well-being in favour of helping others. While this is a good trait in a lot of circumstances, it also means that Dong-hyun tends to neglect his own emotional needs. There are very few people that he can fully confide in. Most of the time, he puts up a front and pretends that he's fine because he knows that there are people relying on him. His parental outlook also means that sometimes he can butt into other people's business and offer unsolicited advice because he's so used to thinking he knows better.

    At school, Dong-hyun is really only considered a popular kid because he's, well, popular. He's on friendly terms with many other students, as well as with the teachers. He's an overachiever in school who works hard because he doesn't want to let anyone down. If he was honest with himself, he would realise that he doesn't even care that much about his grades or about sports. His real passion is art. He can usually be found drawing or painting in his free time, and his notes for class are filled with doodles. He wants to study fine arts at SNU, but his dad wants him to pursue a more stable career. Not wanting to disappoint his dad, he's devoted himself to his studies, but can't help but be drawn towards the arts.

    Dong-hyun is a friendly and personable guy who gets along well with everyone, but finds it difficult to form real connections. Perhaps it's because he only shows the most put-together, cheerful side of himself to the world, when in reality he's a bit gloomy and a pessimist. When good things happen to him, he can't help but feel he doesn't deserve it. He compensates for these feelings by making himself as useful to others as possible. Things like doing errands for teachers, taking care of his siblings when his dad is busy with work, and listening to other people's problems. Doing these things for others lets him prove to himself that he's valuable. As a result, his self-worth stems from validation from other people, and so when others treat him badly he often blames himself for being too selfish.

    Deep down, Dong-hyun can't help but feel jealous of his peers. While others party and hang out with their friends, he's tucking his little siblings into bed. While other kids experience their first loves, he's out getting groceries to make dinner. To an extent he feels like he's been robbed of his childhood because he always had to be the responsible one. Although he tells himself that he's content with what he has, he longs to have a wild adventure like the ones in the movies.

Most had thought that he would be the couple's first and only child, with both of them having busy jobs as well as being older parents: they were both 35 when Dong-hyun was born. He enjoyed two good years of being the only subject of his parents' attention, until his younger brother Jae-hyun was born. Thus began a bitter rivalry between the pair for their parents' attention. The two used to fight constantly, being complete opposites in personality. Dong-hyun was the golden child who ate his vegetables, did his homework, and spoke politely to his elders. Jae-hyun, on the other hand, ate exclusively chicken nuggets and was constantly running around getting himself into trouble. Although, Dong-hyun wasn't the perfect child either: he had a penchant for drawing on walls.

    Dong-hyun was nine when his two twin sisters, Soo-ah and Soo-yeon, joined the family. Being the eldest, babysitting duties naturally fell to him. Jae-hyun, being a bit of a troublemaker, was arguably the most in need of babysitting. It was around this age that Dong-hyun started to help around the house: simple things like washing dishes, folding laundry, and putting the babies to sleep. He knew his parents already had their hands full and tried his best to not be a burden on them.

    As he got older, his mother's health began to decline. When Dong-hyun was twelve, Hwa-young gave birth to the final member of the Yoon family: a little boy named Tae-hyun. A week later, she had a postpartum haemorrhage and passed away.

    Ever since then, Dong-hyun essentially became a replacement parent for his siblings. His dad did his best, but being a busy man, a lot of the responsibility fell to the eldest child. He started dropping and picking up his sisters from school, preparing breakfast and lunch for Tae-hyun and the twins, and generally taking care of baby Tae-hyun. Jae-hyun could manage himself just fine, although he was barely home. For the past five years, Dong-hyun has been struggling to juggle schoolwork, clubs, and his responsibilities at home. Although he seems to be dealing with it well on the surface, every person has their limits and he is nearing his.
