When Kai heard of a trip being chartered to Rhand Isl. she knew that this was a once in a life time opportunity to discover new species and gather information on already known species. She was asked specifically to monitor the others impact on local marine species and island species.

Personality:
Kai is definitely a workaholic, she prides herself on her work. That being said it does not mean she is stuck up. She loves to let Loose around her coworker and enjoy their time together. After falling into a deep alcohol driven depression after her divorce she nearly lost her job and almost ruined her reputation as one of the best marine biologist on the west coast.
Her face tends to steer people way as she does hold herself with a confidence that can be intimidating. She knows what she wants and by any way necessary she will have it. Underneath her workaholic attitude she is a very goofy person and wants to enjoy life to the fullest.
Men tend to overlook her because of her smaller stature . Standing only at 5’6 she does tend to get satisfaction from showing ‘the boys’ what she is capable of. Men that remind her of her ex husbands abusive, Overbearing nature make her skin crawl with utter hatred and she isn’t afraid of sharing her views on men of that nature.
Kai isn’t one for Gloating or speaking above the crowd, but that doesn’t mean she’ll follow anyones command. she’s not going to ask “how high” when the first person says “jump”. She will reason every option out and follow through with what she believes is right after examining every side. Maybe that’s her trust issues speaking, but it hasn’t failed her Yet.

personality:
As mentioned before remi is quite intimidating upon first glance, but like most burley men he puts the needs of others before his own and has a big heart for helping others. Remi is quite a mysterious character to most because of how few people he genuinely initiates meaningful conversation with.
Remi was a wonderful soldier, as well as soldiers can be. How do you determine what makes a great solider you may ask, loyalist and trust in the command system. Remi was let down by his command system, his superior led him astray putting not only remis’ life in danger but his whole units. 3 men were killed that day and from then on those deaths have been viewed as remis fault.
He hums to himself when he is alone, it reminds him of his now separated wife and absent daughter. After being discharged remi suffered from PTSD, his marriage suffered greatly leading to divorce and him loosing his toddler daughter.
Remi values his morals and the structure he creates in his life and isnt afraid to make a stand for what he values as right and wrong. He gets emotionally invested easily and can
Sometimes let that get in the way of his judgement in the moment.
In his hay day he was the man who ordered you to “jump” but as he has found a new passion remi has allowed for a more passive view on life...for now????

Name: Dmitrii Nikolaevich Aksyonov

Brief Description:

Dmitrii's first foray into marine surveying began in 2002 with the Prestige Project. The Prestige sunk off the coast of Spain, spilling over 20 million gallons of petroleum into the ocean. Dmitrii was contracted out by Repsol to investigate the wreckage. His performance during investigations led to more lucrative opportunities, eventually opening doors into heavy hitter Gazprom's venture projects. With lucrative proceeds from his time in "Big Oil", he was able to resign in 2020 and pursue independent research endeavors. The Rhand Islands expedition presented an interesting challenge, so Dmitrii signed on to help map the area.

  Perhaps one thing about Dmitrii is that he dislikes being told what he can't do. He has no use for red tape, which is partly why he left mining years ago. This free-spiritedness comes at a price, though. Trouble often finds him (or vice versa) and with the amount of near misses throughout his career, it's a wonder how Dmitrii is still alive. "I like to kiss death, but that does not mean I'm spending the night," he occasionally says. Despite his daring nature, he has his limits like any other man. Stressful situations cause him to swipe a hand over his bald head repeatedly. This is a subtle tell that he is aggravated or uneasy.
