APPEARANCE

In the past and likely even in the present, many agree that Reille’s positive traits seemed to have focused on fixing themselves on a superficial level. With his straight posture, a fair height, and a visage of fine proportions, it’s clear that his sister’s commentary that he’d be rather well-liked if he’d just stay quiet isn’t quite groundless. Instead, his appearance in conjunction with his poor social aptitude provokes accusations of his successes being attributed solely to having “a pretty face”.

Yet in strict contrast to said handsome features, just about everything else about him bears evidence of a lack of care for how he appears in the eyes of others. Courtesy of his sister Mera, he sports an asymmetrical hairstyle with chestnut brown locks clipped at his chin on the right while left to trail down his neck on the left, and his attire is formal wear generally donned in an inappropriately casual manner, not to mention the black choker (also courtesy of Mera) almost always being present on his neck. Despite his wearing the Edelweiss uniform like any other member of the project, the blazer is typically seen loosely draped around his shoulders—if he’s even wearing it at all—and his shirt is always left untucked, much to the chagrin of superiors. To his credit, his clothes are at least kept ironed neatly.

PERSONALITY

“Do you have nothing better to do than to blame someone else’s successes for your own failures? Pathetic.”

It takes few words spoken for one to ascertain that Reille is a tragic waste of a pretty face. A genius who fully recognizes his own brilliance, he speaks of phrases that show sophistication yet not without the company of crude remarks. Compliments come as rare as red diamonds, and even if friendship manages to bloom past his antagonizing, he still wouldn’t be saved from being told that his relationships would be less rocky if he’d just keep his mouth shut for ten seconds. However, his brutality stems not from sheer arrogance but a lack of observation towards common social etiquette.

As he grew up a subject of pity by his adoptive parents while revered as a prodigy by his peers, Reille lived his life pampered and seldom scolded, resulting in a bit of a spoiled personality. Though he doesn’t squander his attention on materialism, his moral compass, at times, appears to be skewed, and he has little aptitude for reading the mood. In a nutshell, a lack of proper childhood discipline led to the development of a complex of sorts, one where he believes that only his methods are “the right” choice. He is, after all, a genius, and there are few and far between capable of refuting his claims. Other than his sister that is. Even then, he isn’t quite so readily receptive of her chidings, frequently questioning her motives such as why he should “make an effort to be nicer”, all dictated in a matter-of-factly manner. Consequently, Reille’s own shortcomings are riddled with excuses. A self-proclaimed man of science, he knows not the harshness of the wilderness and is quick to dismiss the art of war as barbaric and a skill that he does not need, further isolating himself from those from different eras.

At the same time, that aloof demeanor is a resultant of a persona that is as jaded as it is spoiled: Optimism is not his strong point, especially in regards to a subject called people.

Reille himself is fully aware that his biting words and nasty personality are as effective as the world's best bug repellant. With nerves beaten black and blue by insults and slander, he returns others’ spite with a cold gaze, and his dismissive behavior is as if he’s allergic to humanity itself. He bears a hidden refusal to be betrayed and rejects any displays of affection, because life itself is fleeting, and bonds are just as evanescent. For humanity exists only to leave others behind. However, this natural suspicion towards others also makes dealing with the intensely earnest types as well as following their example his weakness. Like an angry cat, perhaps.

THE WORLD

Hailing from a land where magic is found only in tales of falsehood and grandeur, Reille’s accounts of fantastic beasts leave much to be desired. His world—or what he remembers as “Mimosa”—instead lived out its fantasies through the advancement of technology, with Reille having been raised within its very core. If all roads lead to Rome, then all paths of the Alchemists and Engineers eventually find their way to the world’s heart, Sangria, and he was no different.

Sangria was the home and birthplace of crafts of all designs. In the era that Reille originated from, everything from teleportation gates and airships to cybernetics and artificial intelligence were realities far from being just pipe dreams. It can easily be said that though the world lacked magic, this lack is what allowed for the surfacing of a highly advanced civilization.

Within this age of technology, Reille can distinctly recall that psychic powers did exist to some minor extent. Whether it be a result of tragic human experimentation or a natural mutation in their genes, this unknown factor was suddenly thrust into the midst of humanity four decades ago. Fortunately, these abilities all strictly stemmed from either the biological and psychological unlike the abstract concept of magic, making them fairly easy to figure out the workings of and suppress if necessary.

However, that isn’t to say that it hadn’t sparked brief hysteria and even a war...

MEMORIES

Even within the jumbled haze of his resurrected memories, he distinctly recalls that he had never known his parents’ faces. Born during the final years of the Abnormal War sparked by the government’s attempts to weaponize ability holders, Reille had either been orphaned or abandoned, though he holds no memories of the days prior to being adopted by the Boulevardiers.

His introduction into the family was one typical of that of war orphans. As an “unfortunate” child, Reille had, in a sense, been pampered by his adoptive parents. Though he was well aware that they saw him as one of their own, the way they treated him like fragile glass gave him a certain sense of estrangement, and the label of “genius” didn’t make that weight any lighter. It was as if they believed that he wished to dwell on past events that didn’t even exist in his memories. As for those who did not, their gazes full of contempt—oftentimes even jealousy—were a reminder of their disdain towards his overindulgence.

Mera Boulevardier was the sole person who spoke with absolute disregard for his past or his talents. Though she initially seemed a bit peeved at the special attention that her parents gave her new younger brother, it wasn’t long until she moved on to dragging him around on her many crazy—and at times life threatening—excursions. Most importantly, the two of them had shared a secret for a time: they were both ability holders.

With the war having only just ended, the general public remained wary of ability holders, regardless of whether or not they were harmless. Thus, the free lifestyle that the two lived rather than living under strict government surveillance was essentially illegal. Reille didn’t know what was going through his sister’s head, but a promise—or perhaps a proposition—was made that day. “Let’s save the world!” was the nonsense that she had spouted with an outstretched hand, and like any other sensible person...he took it.

It was a childish dream but not one that was left forgotten. After the passage of a rough decade, the two resolved themselves to join Project Edelweiss, an organization subsidized by the government to resolve the situation with the ability holders. Though they were the youngest of the personnel, the two quickly became the top researchers as well as the pair to invent Regulators, a device capable of suppressing abilities in a safe and humane manner. With their success, it only took a few more steps to renew the laws binding the ability holders. A certain amount of prejudice did still exist, but the ability holders were free to live as they pleased, and Mimosa was well on its way to achieving peace once again.

But then…

Then what?

Faces were blurred and conversations were left unheard. Even the memories which he did recall were imperfect. What of the events that seemingly vanished into the air? His sister? The world didn’t come in perfect twos and threes—there was no way that the final chapter was such an ideal ending. But any efforts left those blanks as barren as they were before, save for the sickening suspicion of treachery.

ABILITIES

OVERCLOCK Rumor has it that the father of ability regulatory devices founded the technology on the motivation of suppressing his own dangerous ability. The truth is rather disappointing to some, being that Reille merely possesses a stable, Rank D ability. However, simple and stable is often the best way to go, and though it isn’t very useful for anything else, Reille often refers to it as a cheat skill of sorts in terms of his trade.

Overclocking is like what its name suggests: it increases the rate at which Reille can process information by severalfold. While he can’t force his body to move as fast as his mind is, it does give the leverage of cutting down on the time taken to organize and process data. Even a full-length novel can be finished in mere minutes. However, overuse can lead to a severe migraine that lasts for days, so he tends not to abuse it unless he happens to be short on time.

IRON STOMACH Though it’s more of a resistance built due to a series of unfortunate events rather than an ability, Reille is capable of eating and keeping down just about anything. The cause? Mera’s cooking often gave him food poisoning. Ironically, Reille himself is actually a good cook.

EXTRAS

FACT 01 This code looks best on rpn default or color me. Dark theme users beware. :’D

FACT 02 Boulevardier, Mimosa, and Sangria are all names of cocktails. Reille is pronounced like the word “rail” but is not intended to have any particular meaning.

FACT 03 Though his poor eyesight was reverted upon arriving in Renaia, Reille plans on obtaining a pair with false lenses due to his habit of adjusting his non-existent glasses which always results in him unfortunately stabbing his eyes.

FACT 04 As explained in memories, Reille and Mera worked together to create regulatory devices. Reille was in charge of the research on the biology of ability holders and actual method of suppression while Mera worked on the mechanical portions of the device.

FACT 05 The Regulators given to ability holders who are ordinary civilians actually have levels of suppression. This function was designed to help those with unstable abilities learn to control them in a safe way. They were also later crafted as various accessories, since Reille and Mera believed that “collars” were a bit demeaning as well as uncomfortable.

FACT 06 Since his ability was classified as a Rank D ability and stable, Reille actually was not required to wear a regulatory device and only did so out of courtesy. His Regulator was specially created and given to him by Mera and vice versa. Mera was given an earring while Reille was given one in the form of a choker due to his sister’s stubbornness on giving him the very first one that she created aka the prototype…

FACT 07 Reille describes his sister to be “someone who can spout all sorts of crap with a smile on her face”. Though he’ll never admit it, it’s plainly clear that he has a slight phobia of Mera, and the reason why he has trouble saying no to any of her requests has less to do with being soft on her and more to do with the fact that she has a bit of a sadistic streak.

FACT 08 Despite his disregard for Project Edelweiss’ dress code, he does at least wear suits and the like properly during business meetings, the reason being that he’s conscious of the difference in giving himself a bad image versus sullying the image of the entire organization.

1518726387996.png (although, at the start of the RP, he'd be wearing a traditional white labcoat with standard clothes underneath.) Verne is quite a tall, skinny fellow with striking features and brown hair. He has a secret tattoo on his arm - from his youth - that depicts a wolf, but other than that he has no blemishes or scars on his body.

Name: Verne Micajah Kingsford - Verne, to most people. He also goes by the nickname 'Artificer'.

Gender: Male.

Age: 23.

Personality: Verne is your typical scientist. He aims to have everything perfect, and can get very irritated and angry if it isn't - especially if it is from his end. He can often be seen as cold and robotic, but that is simply because it is his job to be. He even admits it himself - at work he is incredibly harsh and tiring to work with, but at home he is a different person altogether. At work, or when he is working, he seems to prefer logic and reason over luck and hope and isn't satisfied until everything is worked out. Everything that could possibly to wrong, everything that will go right, and everything that will come because of what he is working on - he plans it all. At home, however, or in his off time he becomes a lot friendlier. He has vowed to himself that he will never bring work home, even if it is important, or involve any of his friends or family (as few as they are) with it. In truth, a lot of his friends and family don't even know what it is that he does, since he keeps quiet about it.

In short, a man of two minds - a friendly, charismatic fellow with a heart of gold, and a logical, calculating robot. It's where he is that determines who you are speaking to.

Original World: Verne comes from a world set far into the future, where aliens are common neighbours and spaceships that travel beyond the speed of light are about as common as Ford pick-up trucks. Verne is a well respected, well paid head scientist/CEO of a company that aims to catapult humanity into the next age. Despite his young age, rival companies are often put out of business, or become part of his company, as his super genius seems to know no bounds. However, despite his wealth, incredible intelligence and his success, he has never found a 'Mrs Kingsford'.

Memories: The memories he retains are mostly good, except for one. Most of his memories involve him designing and building great machines to do a myriad of things - ranging from power reactors, to particle accelerators to even FTL drives for spaceships. However, since the main memory he was left with was disintegrating someone with a laser rifle of some kind, he has made it quite clear he does not wish to know any more.

Powers: While, in his world, he had no magic or other powers he did have something far greater - his mind. His intelligence was considered super genius in his world, which beckons the question - if he is a genius in a futuristic world, what does that make him in a medieval one? He knows a myriad of engineering and physics based science, and knows a fair amount about most other sciences. The only thing he isn't good at is biochemistry, but even then could probably work it out fast if need be.

So, while that is impressive on its own, when Verne discovers that he could potentially learn magic, he would leap at the chance - what scientist wouldn't? His vast knowledge, and his great intellect, would make it easy for him to learn magic - strong minds make great wizards, in most cases. The magic he seems most compatible with are sound, telekinesis and enchantments.

The red squares in the table of contents take you to the labelled section and the red boxes with "00" take you back to the table of contents. o/ So you don't have to bother with clicking "back" over five times to go back to a certain slide. Sorry this is...impossible to view on mobile. >->;;; yell at google not me And sorry that this CS is so long because honestly I just added to it as thoughts came to me during whenever. Bless nano for telling me the do’s and don’ts ahead of time so I was actually able to finish this without crying over my lack of free time. Without spoiling me of what will happen in the rp anyway. Because nano’s mean to me or morally good and won’t let me cheat but perspective. :c

Also I realize design-wise this cs is a mess but I’m honestly I’m too lazy to scrap it and start anew (the content is more important anyway! ...I say to convince myself) l-lol

nostalgia. a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations; from Greek nostos ‘return home’ + algos ‘pain’

forsberg.
name Iefan “Evan” Forsberg
age 26
gender male
height 6’ 2” | 188 cm

appearance An intimidating young man who tends to tower over his peers with a frown or impassive look to his face without meaning to. Unfortunately for Evan, he only looks scarier when he tries to force a smile so he has to deal with his natural “resting bitch face”. He tries to make do with nondescript clothing or flat out quirky and ugly vests and christmas sweaters to seem more approachable when he’s out in public and not working.

It seems to be working. Kinda. With kids anyway. Many adults still seem to be too scared to comment on his more interest wardrobe choices...

personality.
likes apple pie | animals | taking care of things | new food | quiet company | exploring | discovering new things | when people get along
dislikes scaring people with his face | losing sleep | messes | being unproductive

description Despite often giving off the feeling of being unapproachable and intimidating, Evan is like your scary looking but friendly (and curious?) neighborhood older brother who doesn’t mind being bothered. He’s not always the most talkative but he does have a habit of nosing into problems when he thinks there’s something wrong. Sometimes it’s subtle sometimes it’s blatant. It really depends on the type of person it concerns, how well he knows them and how urgent it is.

Evan rarely gets angry but he does often find himself leveling others with a disappointed stare when he catches them doing something they were not supposed to do. The expression works extremely well on rowdy children but like many of his facial expressions it’s mostly unintentional...

kansla.
world kansla - (kinda) parallel universe of earth
hometown blooms
era futuristic

setting In Kansla, it’s futuristic in a sense that humans use technology to make their presence in nature as non-invasive as possible. In a sense, you can say that the world seems primitive at first glance. Without some digging around or investigating it would almost seem as if the world is uninhabited by humans.

The majority of human civilization is either hidden underwater or disguised as forests or hills. Cities located underwater are more metropolis-like than cities and towns of other locations while land-based cities and towns are settlements that are more research oriented.

The underwater metropolis cities are fairly controlled environments that are ecologically isolated from their surrounding environments. The pressure, weather and even “day” and “night” of these cities are controlled by specially programmed nanobots. Of course, the weather and “time” of these cities aren’t controlled all willy nilly. The weather and daylight follow natural patterns and are often recalibrated by specifically assigned staff on a regular basis to avoid any catastrophic errors.

Travel between settlements is primarily done via warp gate services that each city or town provides (therefore it’s illegal for children under the age of seven to travel as they’re more prone to nausea). Transport to more remote research facilities are done via plane.

humans The humans of Kansla are definitely smaller in population size compared to humans of Earth (though this seems to be more due to cultural difference). However, they are hardier and healthier on average. Zoologists in particular are required to have high physical strength and endurance because they’re not allowed to bring any technology on their “field trips” other than data recording instruments.
Other than that, the biggest difference between the humans of Kansla and Earth is that people of Kansla are all born Empaths. [See “culture” and “powers” for more detail.]

economy credits

culture The culture, like any other world, varies from settlement to settlement. For example, in Evan’s hometown Blooms, the population is fairly big for an artificial forest due to the fact that they mimicked giant sequoia forests. Each Tree (apartment) resident is at least familiar with the other residents and it’s not uncommon for the resident children to grow up together as neighbors would.

However, the one cultural thing in common that all settlements have in common no matter where you go in Kansla is that...if you’re not wearing gloves while in public you’re basically streaking. As the only way to use Empathy is by hand contact. The only time it’s considered proper to be not wearing gloves is when you’re in private, with family, or working with animals.
[See “powers” to read how Empathy works in Kansla.]

nostalgia.
where memories sleep When he first got dumped in Renaia, Evan didn’t really realize that he had holes in his memory. Instead, he immediately got distracted by the unfamiliar flora and fauna. When he stops to think about his first day, Evan can only blame his distraction on habit and his curiosity.

It was only when he enthusiastically turned around to call for a name he couldn’t even remember to share his findings that the bizarreness of his situation actually hit him. And when he sat down and thought over what he did and didn’t remember, he came to the realization he could remember everything from what kind of school he attended to what foods his people ate for winter solstice festivals to the various animals he had met and befriended as an Empath zoologist. ...But he barely remember anything about his friends and family. It was like reaching out only to grasp empty air. Knowing and expecting something to be there...only for there to be nothing.

It was lonely. Definitely. But...Evan can accept his losses. Some part of him realizes that he will probably never meet his loved ones again and is fine with moving on. He’s sure that whoever they are they’d never accept him wallowing in self pity.

(bulletpoints for clarification here)
01 Evan remembers that during his childhood he was often accompanied by children around his age. However, he can’t remember if they were his siblings or his neighbors.
02 He remembers almost all of his world’s history and culture that he personally learned but not much detail about the people in his own life. This makes him feel rather lonely.
03 He knows that he was a zoologist and the whole information package that comes with it but trying to remember faces and names of his colleagues and friends is like trying to look through muddy water. However, all the animals he worked with and nicknamed are rather clear in his memory.
04 His apartment. His bed was very nice and comfortable. He also had a large collection of books on his digital reader library.
05 Due to being a frequent traveler he stop keeping pets once he moved out of his childhood home.
06 Has a hard time pinning down a linear timeline of his life with the memories that he has.
07 His birthday is February 16th but doesn’t know what year it was. Strangely enough, he does remember his age.
08 More will be added as story goes on.

powers.
01 Empathy. In Kansla Empathy can only be used when you touch someone with your hands as long as there’s skin contact. It forms an emotional link between two people and is most commonly used to read and share emotion rather than influence. Empathic influence is a learned skill and is mainly used by researchers or animal tamers in Kansla. However, this forged emotional link is a double-edged sword as it works both ways. Carelessness can lead to a negative emotional feedback loop that can lead to psychological damage. tl;dr karma is a bitch
02 Endurance and Strength. As a zoologist, Evan was required to pass multiple physicals before being allowed even an inch into the field. He might not be able to lift a car but he distinctly remembers ambushing a wild boar to get its blood sample in the past...
03 Observant. He has an eye for detail and noticing little things out of place (especially when it comes to health). Evan is also an efficient and fast sketcher and notetaker.
04 Survival Skills. Honestly, he can live in the wild no problem. Might come out smelling nasty (because no soap :c ) but he’d be alive and relatively healthy.

extras.
01 Kansla people who live in forest-based cities do not live in tree huts. Don’t assume. >:c
02 His hair is natural...
03 On flowers on the cover page are forget-me-nots and the flowers on the table of contents page are sunflowers. The irony is not lost on me and it’s mostly on purpose.
04 He understands that “Iefan” is hard to pronounce so he just asks others to call him “Evan”.
05 Evan is trying to buy back his memories of the people in his world but he’s only doing it out of respect of who they probably were to him rather than his own need.

When you've given up on making a decent code.

Profile

712d6d62f03483280ad259f893e7bd07.jpg

Name
Zekunn

Age
24

Gender
Male

Height
5"7'/174cm

Appearance
Zekunn’s physical appearance is rather pleasing to the eyes, but years of living on the streets has left him unaware of the importance of presentation. His attire is typically just shy of being rags. While he values cleanliness as much as the next guy, the presence of tears and rips in his clothes seem to fly right past his head. Several years of neglect has his ash blonde hair just a few inches short of reaching his mid-back, and he pulls it back into a messy ponytail to prevent any haphazard incidents on the job.

Personality
“Dubious” would be Zekunn’s default setting during social interactions. His childhood has taught him that there are plenty of heinous people out there. Trust could always be repaid with a knife in the back, and a dagger could be hidden behind the kindest of smiles. Perhaps this is why most find his temperament to be rather peculiar, to say the least. Zekunn could be as sweet as can be during first meetings. Yet in the blink of an eye, he could become aloof and even downright rude. But just like a fickle housecat, he could be back and seeking for attention at a moment’s notice. His invidious persona stems primarily from his distrustful nature, and while he understands that building a relationship is a two-way street, he is rarely on the initiating side of things. After all, friendship is a frivolous concept in the eyes of an assassin such as himself. The less attachment that he holds, the better.

Yet in the end, he has also learned that good people exist in the world. When Zekunn works as an assassin, he dons a mask to conceal his face, and at the same time, his capriciousness melts away to reveal a more genuine and easygoing man. With his face hidden and no strings attached, Zekunn finds it much easier to display affection towards the people that he has taken a liking to. And perhaps due to his own encounter with a Good Person, he often extends a helping hand towards those who need it. What for? To become a Good Person as well? Zekunn doesn’t know the answer himself. But at some point he'd managed to convince himself that those are spur-of-the-moment acts without any meaning behind them. So long as the sniveling people aren't his targets, Zekunn finds no harm in balancing out his karma with some good deeds here and there.

One trait of Zekunn’s that seems to stick, mask-on or mask-off, is his cluelessness. His harsh life has taught him plenty of things, but social etiquette is something that he has yet to master. Zekunn will never for the life of him understand why people need a dozen forks and spoons for a single meal, nor why gifts and fancy dinners are needed in a romantic relationship. And though he may act intractable to keep people at arm’s length, he doesn’t quite understand what actions count as annoyances, and what count as being hurtful. His only saving grace is that he realizes his faults and attempts (in vain) to think in someone else’s shoes.

Background

Original World
For Zekunn, setting foot into Renaia feels no different than walking into yet another town of his homeland. The only difference is that the kingdom he lived in was plagued by endless war and corruption. Soldiers frequently roamed the streets and terrorized the common people, and poverty was of the norm. The war had led to numerous riots among the citizens, and some have even plotted to overthrow the government. By the time Zekunn passed on, he was fairly sure that the kingdom was already one foot into an anarchy.

Memories
Looking back at his memories - or what’s left of it, anyway - Zekunn wishes that the altar or whatever could have just done thorough job and taken it all away. His childhood was a mess. He could distinctly remember an abusive mother and an alcoholic, good-for-nothing father. He was nothing more than skins and bones, barely getting by with whatever scraps of food that his parents tossed at him. Sleeping on the floors without a blanket or pillows was the norm for him. It was bearable in the summer, but he came close to freezing to death every winter. He didn’t have the escape of school, either. His family was too poor to get him a proper education - not that his parents would have even if they did have the money. At some point, Zekunn lost his poor excuse of parents to a fire, but “lost” isn’t really the right word to use. At that time, he felt liberated.

Anyway, nothing special there. A typical sob story for an assassin-to-be, really.

After his parents’ death, he wounded up in the streets, stealing and begging for food and money. For a long time - Zekunn never bothered to count the months, or perhaps, years - he endured beatings and jeers from the cruelest of people. He was used to looking like a walking skeleton, used to eating people’s leftovers out of their garbage, used to wondering if he will even wake up as he slips into slumber... But at some point, all of that stopped. Someone… A kind person took him in. Zekunn could just vaguely remember delicious meals and a warm bed, but not the name or face of the person that provided them. The only thing he could muster from that period of time was the abstract feeling of joy and unconditional love.

Zekunn chuckles darkly at the gap in his memories. Of course he could perfectly recall the shitty times in his life but lose the happy moments. As Zekunn lets out a mournful sigh, he quietly notes the missing pieces of how he eventually left his new, loving family to become an assassin. Well, if he for some reason resorted to a career of bloodshed… Perhaps it’s better that he doesn’t remember those happy times after all.

Powers
Magic: Unlike in Renaia, only people with inborn talent could even learn magic in Zekunn’s original world. These kinds people certainly are not rare, and Zekunn just happened to be one of them. Unfortunately, he never received lessons to utilize the gift that he has as a child. After becoming an assassin, he could no longer channel his magic effectively as a means of offense. Instead, he learned to use his magic to increase his strength and agility.

Dagger Proficiency: Zekunn’s main choice of weapon is a dagger. While he only learned to fight with one a few years ago, he has quickly become adept in wielding them.

Extras

* Zekunn has no idea how to save money. While not materialistic, he has no real concept of how money works and gets swindled easily when shopping. Even when taking on jobs, he just accepts whatever value is offered to him.

* On top of not being picky with food, Zekunn also hates wasting them. Even if a meal presented to him is an utter failure, he’d eat everything.

* Even as an adult, Zekunn still gets fascinated by “rich people stuff”, like tablecloth that are softer than the clothes he wears.

* His mask is just a piece of black cloth that he wraps around his head and the bottom of his face.

Name
Jay, ( Jay Johan but he doesn’t know his last name)
Gender
Male
Age
Twenty six
Appearance
8CCBFB5C-533E-463A-B3D1-500881BAEBF1.jpeg
Jay is a man standing just below six foot. Somewhat handsome with his large green eyes and brown reddish dreaded mess of hair, Physique wise jay is like a pirate Batman.. if only jay was a tad taller. His body covered covered in scars and burns from his brutal childhood life, the only scar on his face however is a number that was burned on him in a foreign language. (Basically number one in Chinese)

Personality.
Jay Johan is a funny man, easy to feel anything quickly, be it happiness, rage, lust, confusion.. and he is often confused. The man takes things literally, almost to the point one would think he is constantly joking or has a mental problem.
His twin brother usually doing the planning and thinking.

Original World
Seivor, a world in the golden age of piracy, with magic and monsters, artefacts and prophecy..
Memories
Jay remembers a bit of his old life, his wife, his son, his brother..
His staff. That magical voice in his ear. He remembers growing up under the pirate captain Xiao, the blue dragon.. being taught how to fight and use his talent, being whipped and burnt when he did something wrong.
He assumed it made him stronger. He had no idea he was a slave, he thought he was Xiao’s son until his wife told him how blood relations work.

Powers
Jay is able to control smoke, air, and fire. Creating smoke of various kinds in his body, and being able to manipulate any he sees in the air freely. He has the same talent for fire, almost as scary as his brother.
They are called the demon twins for good reason.
Jay has the potential to become a master of air magic, just as he is smoke, however he can’t comprehend controlling something he cannot see, so any impressive air magic he has performed is usually accidental.

Jay is one of the most talented hand to hand fighters you could ever meet.

Jay’s weapons proficient in swords and knives, bows and arrows, throwing discs, boomerangs, throwing knives.. anything you could throw to hit a piece of fruit jay can usually hit his mark. It was how he was able to eat for a majority of his life. “Only eat what you have caught/hit in the air”
Then Xiao would throw a apple, a fish, a grape.

Jay can fight well with a staff, however his was magic and would return to him when thrown. Without his magic staff of knowledge he probably wouldn’t be able to deflect bullets and such. He would just be swinging a stick in a way that would hurt if hit you.

(Lol I feel I should have made a girl, but my girl characters are usually side characters with the only traits being OP rhymers who get on people’s nerves aha) Flowiestfire.

anabel lee

Name
anabel lee

Gender
female

Age
seventeen

Appearance
anabel has naturally pink hair, about shoulder length. though, as part of a type of glamor magic she picked up, she can usually change her hair to a less eye-catching color. her eyes are also a natural shade of pink, and she can usually be seen wearing a dark leather jacket and jeans.

Personality
anabel has a highly agreeable personality. despite growing up in a darker world, the girl is found to be very light-hearted and joking. the tone of her voice can range from highly sadistic to barely concealed sarcasm to openly fun poking at another individual. sometimes, anabel is thought to be somewhat dramatic and deceitful, mostly because of her very willingly to lie for what she wants.

Original World
it's a world much like our own, but far darker. anabel comes from a place called rengest, a place where nightmares come to life. rengest is a small world, compared to other worlds on the spectrum, and many of it's inhabitants possess darkness within themselves. the place has short days and elongated nights, allowing the nightmares more freedom to roam (as they can not travel in the sunlight).

Memories
anabel vaguely remembers what seems to be her mother, singing a song to a younger version of herself; and her father chasing a younger boy she assumes is her little brother. she can also remember a group of other kids she used to play with in the town she lived in. she thinks she died by drowning in a lake during a school break, or it may have been a school approved trip. . .

Powers
anabel has only a few of the basic powers unlocked; those being shadow-traveling, and darkness perception (good eyesight in the dark). not yet unlocked are the ability to possess another's shadow, steal another's shadow, and summon shadow weapons.

Extra
anabel doesn't like to talk about her past much
anabel is very skilled with a gun, and throwing knives.
anabel is lowkey based off edgar allen poe stories because i'm total trash.
anabel is actually a very sweet person but she covers it up with insane sarcasm.

She stands around 5 feet and has a very petite frame. She prefers male clothes and is often seen in a black outer coat and trousers outdoors, while she finds a simple male yukata more than enough to sleep and laze around in. Probably the only feminine feature is her cute face and long hair. Her posture and mannerisms seem to mimic males as she doesn't speak or move like a dainty flower. Don't let her hear you comment about her size or gender or she'll show you how much those traits actually matter in a punch to the gut. Shizu remembers having black hair before she awoke in Altar, but her long locks turned silver and looks blue under some lights. She would usually tie her hair up during her training in school and her part-time job as a waitress in a tavern.

[/div] [div class=textTitle]personality[/div] [div class=textContainer]Shizu is a ball of endless energy, almost as if to make up for her size. She puts in hard work in the things she does due to the mentality of 'you reap what you sow'. However, once she sets her mind on something, she must see it done. It doesn't matter if is seen as perfectionism or stubbornness. To her, she simply does not like seeing things unfinished. Shizu likes to keep herself busy, and finds meaning in constantly doing or learning things.

Shizu is sociable and you'll find her in high spirits most of the time, which was what gave her a job in the busy tavern in the first place. She greets anyone and truthfully wishes the best for others, but she's not had a close relationship with anyone in Renaia. She doesn't waste time thinking about her past life as she sees no reason to dwell on it any more. Like any other person, she does get angry and stressed and this is when people should beware. Like a flicker of a switch, she'll start cursing like a sailor in her kansai dialect and if something really ticks her off, she won't be afraid to use her familiars against those who angered or disrespected her.[/div] [div class=textTitle]preferences[/div] [div class=textContainer] [div class=detailText][div class=labelName]likes[/div] food-- all sorts of food. Shizu likes exploring different cultures and traditions and that involves food most of the time. You won't hear her turning down any kind of cuisine unless the dish involves dogs. With that, she considers herself a dog person, she finds cats and the feline family too fickle-minded and most likely because she has two fox demons as familiars. [/div] [div class=detailText][div class=labelName]dislikes[/div] The one thing that irks Shizu the most is gender discrimination. She also dislikes being bored, as she associates it with being unproductive and laziness. Because she came from a time without technology, she shies away from machines and electrical devices in Renaia. She's only managed to handle simple appliances that has one switch which turns on and off. [/div] [/div] [/div] [div style="display:none" class="cadenzaPages pageTwo"] [div class=textTitle]original world[/div] [div class=textContainer] [div class=detailText][div class=labelName]world[/div] Earth[/div] [div class=detailText][div class=labelName]hometown[/div] Kyoto, Japan[/div] [div class=detailText][div class=labelName]era[/div] Edo Period[/div]
In a time where Tokugawa Ieyasu had just risen to power, and samurais were made the top of societal hierarchy in Japan. Priests, shamans, and fortune-tellers alike have decreased in popularity in the economy. Pushed aside to simple shrine works across the country, Kyoto was no different. Kyoto was known for its' exorcists, where males young and old practiced in chants and spells to expel demons that roamed the streets and haunts people. Centuries past, and exorcism work has dwindled, many strong clans had shifted their line of work to keep up with the times, but not the Onaga Clan. Dating back to the Heian Period, The Onaga Clan is known to have strong spiritual powers and summoned familiars to fight demons. Similar to the samurai, the clan only had male exorcists and they fight to die an honourable death in battle against evil spirits. The females are left to do chores and bear children. [/div] [div class=textTitle]memories[/div] [div class=textContainer]Despite her clan's tradition of having the sons train as exorcists and the daughters serve the house and shrine, Shizu was taught and trained in the ways of exorcisms with familiars by her older brother. She remembers that she loved and respected her brother, and she's sure that she had a mother and father but can't recall any of their faces or names. Members of the public, the lords and samurais, even the peasants called them names and accused the clan of witchcraft and avoided them like the plague. They were only sought for their divine abilities when a misfortunate event occurs, but even then the ones who pleaded the clan for help are quick to turn their backs on them after it's solved.

Shizu would follow her brother on these jobs, without their father knowing, and may get the chance to use her abilities on small demons. Her memory get's scattered as she grew older, with many pieces missing. She does get flashes of one particular memory- of her brother shouting at her, blood splattering, and cackles and growls of demons. And then... nothing. She chooses not to find out more and leaves her past behind her as whenever she tried to remember more, her mind always came up blank and she would cry.[/div] [/div] [div style="display:none" class="cadenzaPages pageThree"] [div class=textTitle]abilities[/div] [div class=textContainer]With her spiritual powers, she has the ability to summon 2 familiars- fox demons called Aki and Hiki. A magic circle needs to be drawn on a surface be it the ground or paper, for each familiar. A drop of blood is then used as an offering to call forth the spirits before chanting, "I humbly call upon the gods of wind, hear my prayer and fulfil my wishes!"

[div class=detailText][div class=labelName]01[/div] A strong will is needed to control them[/div] [div class=detailText][div class=labelName]02[/div] As they are blessed with the powers of the wind, they can move fast enough to create a vortex to trap and hurt targets. Though this is limited to only create one big enough to trap one person.[/div] [div class=detailText][div class=labelName]03[/div] They are strong enough to lift objects twice the size of them and have the strength to bite through bone.[/div] [div class=detailText][div class=labelName]04[/div] The longer Shizu uses them, the more it will drain her spiritual powers and stamina. Resulting her to be vulnerable to the demons turning against her. [/div] [div class=detailText][div class=labelName]05[/div] To send them away, the magic circle just needs to be destroyed. I.e. if on the ground, a small portion needs to be rubbed away or if on paper, it needs to be torn in half.[/div] [/div] [/div] [div style="display:none" class="cadenzaPages pageFour"] [div class=textTitle]relationships[/div] [div class=textContainer] [div class=detailText][div class=labelName]Marius, Tavern Owner[/div] A middle aged man she often refers to as 'Oyaji' or 'Shacho'. In return, he nicknamed her 'Spitfire', because of how little can anger the girl. He does understand her anger when others insult her or piss her off in some way, and wouldn't stop her if she threatens or punches a customer if he said something wrong. He also treasures her as she works the hardest and is 'hella efficient' in his books. He has a daughter of his own and agrees that no one should discriminate someone because of their physical appearance or gender. He would knock her on the head if she goes too far or start a full on brawl in the bar. Furniture don't come cheap! The extra job gives her more gems too[/div] [div class=detailText][div class=labelName]04[/div] Her familiars; Aki and Hiki are brothers and been with her since she made a contract with them when she first summoned them.[/div] [div class=detailText][div class=labelName]05[/div] Aki is friendlier and worries unnecessarily about Shizu's lifestyle, while Hiki is stricter, is a lot colder to strangers and is not afraid to show how sharp his teeth is to protect Aki and Shizu.[/div] [div class=detailText][div class=labelName]06[/div] Since she is a 'caster' she's pretty much defenceless if an attack gets passed Aki and Hiki, which is why she takes combat classes in the academy and will not go on more dangerous quests/adventures unless she joins a party.[/div] [div class=detailText][div class=labelName]07[/div] It's her brother dying in her memories, not her.[/div] [/div] [div class=textTitle]theme[/div] [div class=textContainer][/div] [/div][/div] [div class=largeImageContainer]
