FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE
Welcome to QUARANTINE, an over the top (yet not too much) anime themed zombie survival role play! QUARANTINE takes place in New Ruark, Georgia, a small city neighboring the larger city of Savannah. It is day two of the fall of society at the hands of the undead masses. Their origins remain unknown but their slaughter of humanity continues at a tremendous pace. Humanities only advantage is the light, which drives away the undead. But light only last for so long, dusk falls and the dead return ready to devour those who are unprepared. Survival will require the survivors of the initial onslaught to unify and protect each other from the not only the dead but maybe even each other.

The town of New Ruark is a smallish university town about an hour's travel east of Savannah. It's a small pocket of civilization cut from the thick forest around it. New Ruark, despite the name, happens to be one of the oldest cities in Georgia with secrets buried beneath her streets and the surrounding area. In the past, it was known only as Ruark, a booming mining town that met its fate when the great depression hit. The town died off slowly until suddenly it's last remnants of its population mysteriously disappeared.

The town was abandoned until, in the 50s, a private party invested in buying the land and built a college. Over the next 60 to 70 years New Ruark grew, the college bringing a sense of purpose to the area that buried the town's history and sprung up a bustling city in its remains.

The forest outside of New Ruark's city limits is dense and dark, hiding many a peril to those who dare wander it.

The distant sound of music echoed down the dark city streets, downtown the night was alive and the bass tone of the clubs reverberated through the packed streets. New Ruark's nightlife was alive and pulsing with energy, it was certain to be a night like no other. One club, in particular, was adorned with bright flashy lights and drew a crowd with a waiting line halfway around the building. Prawn attracted a larger audience than most of the clubs and had space inside to match it, making it easily the most populated club of the night.

For whatever reason your characters find themselves caught up in the club scene of Prawn. It's barely passing midnight when the first scream rings out. No one would have heard it from the bathroom though, but more soon rang out as the first victim came flying through the door with its attacker on her heels. Both bodies leaped into the crowd with gnashing teeth and flailing arms. And in a single moment, everything changed. The lights flipped on overhead and the music cut as the club erupted into terrifying screams. The disease and its carriers spread quickly, moving through the crowd frighteningly fast as terrified bodies tried to rush the exits. The chaos made it easy pickings for the rapidly growing infected.

Through the sounds of screaming and the odd snarling of the infected a gunshot rang out, followed by two more. A lone figure stood by the roof access hatch holding off the infected and waving through anyone who dared seek refuge on the roof. No matter the circumstance of your visit to Prawn, your prime directive was now survival. Move.

And remember, come the dusk, fear the night.

The last place Ren wanted to be was at a club. It just wasn't his thing. Instead of ravenous music that destroyed ear drums and filled the air with hormones, the twenty-eight year old doctor preferred silence and solitude--two things an emergency room managed to provide. He loved the hospital for multiple reasons, including those two. It was a place where he felt safe--where white walls protected him from the pollution outside. There was also the distinct smell that distinguished a medical room from any other work place. For Ren, it was the epitome of what cleanliness smelled like, which was far from what a night club could offer.

Night clubs only brought pleasure to one thing and that was alcohol. Ren was a notorious drinker, as were many surgeons. While he isn't an alcoholic he strongly appreciates alcohol and was never able to say no when asked to drink, especially when free. His colleagues had managed to rouse the sleeping demon from his slumber and convince him to go out with them. "It's to celebrate the end of our children's internship," they had said, referring to the interns as kids because that's what his strange hospital did. Of course they lied, however. His coworkers would do anything to get the prodigal surgeon out of the hospital. It wasn't as if Ren could blame him though. He practically lived there without a care in the world.

By the time they'd each had five shots, everyone was flat out drunk except Ren. The half-Japanese man was immune to anything below 70% and could have consumed an entire bottle while maintaining most of his sobriety. He may have appeared drunk to anyone who didn't know him, however. His long black hair was tied into a messy bun, breathing slow and head peacefully resting on his arms. Ren was simply the type of man to sleep any time and any where. Even though loud music were to blast into his ears, which was the case, he could still block it out and sleep. The only thing that was able to disrupt him then and there was a piercing scream from the dance floor.

The music abruptly ended, Ren's head shooting up and his team regaining consciousness. They all glanced at each other with worried expressions before one of the nurses stood on a stool to look around. She squinted her eyes as she forced her gaze through the rambling crowd and her eyes widened, hands covering her mouth in horror. "There's.. something horrible happe-" She choked before she was tackled behind the bar table, her cries adding to the panic-filled room. The three remaining hospital members jumped behind the table only to be greeted by something that was not human.

No.. he's definitely human. Ren thought as he stared at the cannibalistic figure in shock, eyes wandering on the nurse. Her neck was torn open and blood spattered everywhere, including into Ren's mouth. He quickly spat as his instincts kicked in, assuming there was some kind of viral infection going on that was controlling people. The other two nurses pulled at the feeder, one of them hitting its head with a bottle. It stopped gnawing at the now dead woman's neck only to jump at the male nurse that hit him. Ren quickly jumped in to help, his hands grabbing onto its shoulders and the free nurse knocking it to the ground. They checked the status of the attacker and their two companions, both shaking their heads in disbelief as they had just witnessed two of their friends die. It was then that the woman's hand moved before her head quickly jerked and bit the remaining nurses ankle.

The nurse screamed out in pain as he kicked her head against the table, which slowly stirred the other male nurse. He looked at Ren with fear in his eyes and yelled the word "Go!" Ren shook his head as he tried to grab his friend, still trying to convince himself that there was just some infection going around.

"We're both going, Franklin. This is just some kind of infection. I'm sure there's vaccine somewhere." Ren stated as he continued to pull. Franklin knocked Ren's hands away and with a serious voice said, "We both know this is nothing we've ever encountered. You need to go now. I'm already infected, look!"

Ren didn't want to look but he did. Franklin's veins were already turning a ghastly purple, the color around the bite becoming an ugly yellow. He didn't budge though. It wasn't until someone pulled him away from his friend and towards the roof access hatch.

Daniel tightened his grip on his guitar case. He was on his way home through downtown after a late night shooting with his cousin(he wanted to show Daniel his new handgun), and somehow ended up in a club, following the flow of a crowd that blocked his path. After some time of awkwardly standing in the corner, he decided to leave.
..which should've been his choice at least ten minutes ago. Something happened near the exit, with people screaming. Trying to peek over the chaotic crowd, he could see some bloody figures, some corpses, and more mad 'things' charging at people. One looked at Daniel dead in the eye and came charging.
"What in the-"
Daniel slammed his guitar case into its face, knocking it down. He opened it while constantly kicking the figure, pinning it down. From the case came out a pump action shotgun, and a small pack of buckshot rounds. Before the pack dropped, Daniel managed to take two shells. He threw the case away and loaded them. While the thing flailed its arms, trying to gnaw him, Daniel aimed for its mouth. 'Hope this won't put me in jail.' He thought as he pulled the trigger.
"Ugh."
Daniel grunted. His shirt, which was clean grey a few minutes ago, was now all bloody. Without even checking his cap, Daniel scooped up the shell pack, crammed it in his pocket, and looked around. Apparently someone else decided to find a safe shelter. The person was resisting the things with a handgun.
"What a day."
Daniel murmured, pumping his shotgun. An empty shell fell out of it and rolled next to the cold twice dead corpse. Daniel joined the people heading for the hatch. He loaded four more shells into his shotgun in the way.

Mirova F. Konstantinova
Location: Prawn.

Time ticked by, leaving its trace behind in everyone’s lives. No one was able to stop it, no one was able to defeat the menacing end that was waiting for them. Some took peace with it, accepting their faith of leaving this Earth and vanish into the depths of darkness. Others wanted to avoid it like the flue, desiring eternal life. Little did they know that this eternity would be more rotten than they could think of. Yet, it was eternal until something would be done against it. It was both a dream as a fear ironically enough.

Now Mirova was situated in a nightclub that attracted a lot of people of mostly the younger kind of age. Early twenties and thirties but older than that was rather rare. Well, it wasn’t that abnormal as older people preferred a little more silence on their days off. It just happened that Mirova felt like getting out of the house as she didn’t have a job the past few days, making her wait patiently for the next client to contact her. It was one of the things she just had to deal with in this line of work. Also, as she became more known with militaries and other facilities, they became more careful and doubted about contacting her. Though after a while they just went through with it. She wasn’t called one of the best for nothing.

She started to enjoy her little night out even though she was alone. The music was a bit too loud for her taste and repetitive but she got used to it after a while. A cold cocktail in her hand called “long island ice tea” was always a good drink for a night like this. Not feeling like she should be on guard as there seemed to be nothing wrong with things. Sideway glancing to the group of men on the other side of the counter, one in particular caught her eye. A man with long hair, tied into a loose bun. He drank quite a lot but his demeanour remained the same as from when he entered the building which was quite a sight. She could hold her liquor but not as good as him.

However things took a quick change for the worst as screams were suddenly coming from the entrance. Gunshots were fired and people ran over one another in order to get as fast as possible out of there. She took out her mini-gun as someone was attacked behind the counter, seeing the others wrestle off these creatures, only a few were able to get away, including the long haired man. But just as she was about to follow him towards the exit, well the entrance towards the roof, she was grabbed by this man that was alive not that long ago. Kicking the thing away from her before aiming her weapon towards its head. “Прошу прощения. (I’m sorry.” She said before pulling the trigger. Splatters of blood came on the bottom of her skirt.

With that, she noticed another man shooting his shotgun towards these things so she decided to help him out. It was always better to have two on the job than just one. It was not before long that she’d reach the rooftop.

This was an assignment that Kena was enjoying; maybe a little too much. She was supposed to be tailing someone, watching them while blending in. But when music was playing, she gets a little lost in it all. It wasn't until her partner grabbed her arm that she snapped out of her magical land of tempos and lyrics. She scowled at him when he scolded her for not paying attention to her mark. "Look, she's still here right? And we will look suspicious if we just stand here being all rigid. So," she said grabbing two shots off of a passing waitress. ", loosen up a bit, Kanos." Kena gave him a shot and downed hers. With hesitant eyes, Kanos took the shot which earned him a pat on the shoulder from the younger woman.

Their target was a woman named Nikita and she was an international arms dealer. Usually the ATF would handle something like that but they haven't been able to get close to her. Since Kena seemed to have skills to get people to listen to her, she was the man for the job. Except, no one really knew how she did it. In all honesty, all it took was a deal. But no one would never know how she operated; especially not now. As she was dancing, Kanos was keeping his eye on the target, distracting him from the commotion he was hearing off somewhere.

Then everything happened fast. A little too fast, if we're being honest. One second Kena was flirting with a guy, blowing off her assignment and the next she was pressing her hand against Kanos' throat. Someone- or rather something- bit him when he wasn't looking. Took out a chunk of his flesh, causing him to bleed out. Kena was a strong girl, so she wasn't cry even if she cared about him a lot. While she didn't know what was going on, he did and ordered her to shoot him in the head. Even though she was taken over with confusion, she didn't hesitate and did as he said. There wasn't time to sit and mourn his death, seeing as someone grabbed her and forced her to go up to the roof.

It was all happening too quickly. Ren's eyes couldn't keep up with the chaos that was occurring around him. Blood curdling cries rang in his ears like a never ending siren and while the screams for "help" activated his doctor instincts, he ultimately knew better.
As a medical professional he knew better than to approach something blindsided. That was the first mistake towards to one's downfall. Even if he did, the only logical thing to explain the situation was a mutation in a rabies gene. But what kind of mutation leads to man-eating humans? It couldn't have been drugs either. Regardless of the type or mixture, the chemical reactions would inevitably kill the user instead turning them into a crazed state. Nothing made reasonably sense anymore.

Ren and the man who pulled him towards the hatch were only a few meters away when a weight suddenly crashed on them both. One of the rabid beings had managed to lunge at them, more so the man than Ren. Unfortunately, his instincts were too slow in trying to push it away because the next thing his blue eyes saw was a deep gash in the victim's shoulder. The man's howl was enough for Ren to kick the thing in ahead, his mind hazy with the need to help. It was too late though. He could see it in the man's eyes. It was the same look he got when someone learned of their relatives table death. Nonetheless, the victim only smiled at Ren, which was incredibly shocking. Ren watched in horror as he crawled over to the nearby sitting area, stood up, and bashed his head against the sharpest corner of a table.

There was nothing more he could do than temporarily block his emotions off and enter the state of mind he used as a doctor. Getting up, he quietly jogged towards the hatch while noticing an bloodied older man doing the same. Shotgun and shells aside, Ren secretly scanned him for open wounds because he'd already gotten an idea of how this... infection was spread. With nothing in sight, he waited for the shotgun user and two females to climb the ladder before him. Turning around as he went up himself, he noticed a few stragglers making their way as well. Once at the top, he scanned the four figures before him. They all had guns and all appeared as bloodied as he.

"Are any of you wounded? Did any of those things injure you? A small scratch or has blood entered your mouth or eyes?" If any were to say yes, he would quickly scan and assure nothing ailed them. Afterwards, Ren would comment on whether they should close the hatch or not, optimism barely visible. "We should leave the hatch open. I saw some people coming."
