Introduction to Haven's Row

HcrM6yC.png

~

It's a hot day, but when isn't the sun scorching the inhabitants of Phoenix, Arizona. It beats down on those outside and breeches the confines of those inside through windows and doorways, glittering and bright. Despite the heat, the school still keeps the A/C low, so those who are not used to the heat can be seen sweating or waving their hands in front of their face despite to evade the high temperatures. Nobody looks very happy. Every smile is left incomplete, lacking some joy or another that cannot be found within the walls of Haven's Row. For every student there, there wasn't anything beyond the tall, metal gates bordering the property. The outside, the city skyline, could be a mirage for all they knew. Once they were put inside the cage, they were expected to abandon any hope of leaving it. In the center of the campus was the main building where the cafeteria, offices and library were all set in the shape of a triangle. In the east were the dorms, Co-Ed and patrolled regularly, one large block of a building, because why should they be bothered to build more than that. To the west were a collection of buildings, a spotting of portables where electives and clubs were held. To the north was the gym and various leisure activities. And to the south, a collection of buildings devoted to medical uses, where the doctors were for the kids who needed medicine. Chances are if you were here, you needed to be on some sort of prescription. Down there was also where solitary was, a form of punishment for the unruly kids. Essentially a step down from a padded room and a strait jacket. And, finally, tucked away in the northwest and southwest corners of the property were buildings abandoned, an old rickety church and an indoor pool without water.

In a few moments a bell would toll, signifying that half of the day was over. Students were expected to eat lunch now and were given a free period, given they even went to class in the first place. Rules were in place at Haven's Row but hardly followed and even less frequently enforced. Everyone who worked there, smelled of cigarette smoke and booze. Aside from the doctors anyway who seemed to look down on everyone else. 12:00 was the epitome of events at Haven's Row. If students planned to fight, it was at noon. Students took medicine at noon. Assemblies happened at noon. Students were released at noon, the lucky ones who had either finished their sentence or managed to acquire a good lawyer. And new students were brought in at noon, read off the rules and shoved into the mix, expected to adjust as quickly as if they were tossed in the ocean without any ability to swim.

For the staff, everyone was on high alert, trying to pick things up and crack down on students who were acting unruly. Uncharacteristic of them but with news of Dr. Davidoff, the school's overseer and principal making a visit in a few days, everyone wanted to make sure everything looked good and that nobody would lose their jobs. From what everyone had heard and experienced, the man was quite intimidating and beyond intelligent. He liked order and yet he was known to extend a gentle hand to those who needed it. Such a perfect man in other's eyes, nobody was really sure why he wasted his time with a place like this.

Belladonna Carter

Location: Cafeteria /Interactions: Anyone ig / Outfit

Belladonna would never get used to living in the oven that is Arizona. The merciless rays of sun raining down on the students, the insufferable humidity, and the blistering heat. The climate made her yearn for the summers back in New York. They were hot, yes, but paled in comparison to the Arizona weather. She had arrived to the school over a year ago, enough time for someone to get accustomed to the state, but Belladonna had a special hatred for the heat. It made her sweat, made her hair frizzy, and made her angry and irritable. The heat had been particularly harsher than usual as of late, which means a lot considering the weather is usually scorching hot. Thus, Belladonna found herself in an especially foul mood. Fanning herself with a fan she'd "borrowed" from her girlfriend, with a large bottle of water next to her as she scrolled her phone during the last few minutes of English class.

She cared about the subject. In fact, she'd always considered English to be her favorite class back in New York. But education in Haven's Row was nothing but a joke. The teachers didn't care if their students learned anything as long as the school got the funding it needed, so classes were usually spent slacking off and doing absolutely nothing while waiting for the bell to ring. Since there was nothing to learn, and the teachers weren't interested in even checking if the children were paying attention or not, Belladonna was more than happy to distract herself with her phone during class.

A few minutes later, the sound of the bell echoed throughout the school; signalling noon and the most interesting part of the day. As Belladonna and the other students in her class gathered their belongings, she noticed the teacher giving some students their phones back. An odd sight, to say the least. Even if they were caught using their phones or distracting themselves in any other way, students were rarely disciplined and the rules were never followed. So, why was the teacher implementing such an ignored rule? And why now? For Belladonna, it made no sense.

The English teacher wasn't the only member of staff acting suspiciously. As she walked towards the triangle-shaped building, she noticed the usual fights were starting to break out between two younger students. This was a common sight. Not wanting to miss the opportunity to see two underclassmen beating each other up, Belladonna began walking towards the students, until she noticed a member of the staff step in between them and order them to stop. After being ignored by the students, he grabbed them by their shirts and dragged them away. Even more confused than she was before, Belladonna turned around and resumed her walk towards the cafeteria, wondering what was so important that made the teachers actually start caring for once.

The food was horrible, some of the worst Belladonna had ever eaten, but she'd gotten used to it. She was even used to finding the occasional hair in her food and wasn't as disgusted as she was when she first arrived. After spending a year in Haven's Row, there was little that still managed to amaze her, and what would've scared her a year ago slowly became a part of her daily life. She sat down on the first empty table she saw, waiting for her friends to arrive and join her. Another benefit of being one of the older students, and being in the school long enough to be considered a "veteran" was the fact that the other students didn't bother her as much. So she didn't mind being alone in a place filled with teenage delinquents. Besides, something told her even the most unruly students wouldn't cause much damage today, seeing as the staff suddenly wanted to seem like a good school. Whatever the reason behind the changes in the staff were, Belladonna was not a fan. One of the only few good things about the school was the fact that rules were never applied, which meant she usually got away with things she never would've gotten away back in New York. Finally applying rules would make Haven's Row the official hell-on-earth it was advertised as, at least for Belladonna.

The baking heat of the Arizona summer was enough to cause anyone to go a little crazy. You were always sweating, always irritated and your palms always felt clammy and Primrose’s dumb school hadn’t installed any air conditioning making sitting in a classroom for an hour absolute torture. Normally teachers wouldn’t make a single effort to try and teach their students a thing but Primrose was determined to get some sort of education so she had some chance of going to college. She would take a seat at the back of the classroom and work her way through a textbook she’d found in the library, it was the hard way but with the way teaching was going at this school Primrose might as well kiss her chances for college goodbye as she could only do so much.

The bell let outs it’s usual ring and students immediately got up from their chairs almost running out of the door but Primrose actually had a few questions for her Maths teacher and so she waited until all the students had left before approaching the mans desk. Primrose would never of dared ask questions during class time as this would of led to bullying from other students, in this place it seemed to be cool not to do. “Mr Joseph, I actually have a few questions.” Primrose says as the man looked up to her with a dead glance. “Write them on a piece of paper and I’ll get back to you.” He says getting up and leaving the room. Prim let out a sigh as that definitely meant that he wouldn’t even take a look at the questions and so Primrose didn’t bother writing them down.

Over the past few days Primrose had noticed a few changes in the school. Dress code was being enforced and teachers were actually breaking up fights instead of just watching them. Was something happening in the next couple of days? Seemed like it to Primrose. The blonde Japanese girl walked out of the building and that’s when the full humidity hit her, it was like she had just walked into the Sahara desert as she immediately began to sweat more, it was her bodies attempt to try and keep her cool but the heat was just too much today and so Primrose jogged to the cafeteria.

The cafeteria was like a war zone, kids throwing inedible food around for entertainment, lunch ladies not really caring about health and safety caused 3 kids to get food poisoning almost every week. Primrose was one of the lucky students that didn’t have to eat the cafeteria food as she lived not far away, Primrose got the opportunity to always make her lunch at home and then also making a couple of extras for anyone who really couldn’t stomach the food that day. The young woman walked around the cafeteria looking for any familiar face when a certain tired, frizzy haired girl caught her eye. It was Bella. The two had been dating for a while and Primrose had never been happier.

“Hey.” Primrose says sliding into the seat next to Bella who seemed to be struggling with the food. Primrose rooted through her bag pulling out a PB & J samdwhich. “Don’t eat that.” Primrose says pushing away the tray of food from Bella. “Have this, My granny made it for you.” Primrose says pulling out a bright pink samdwhich box and handing it to Bella. “She wants to make more “American” food and that’s the only thing she could think of.” Primrose says pulling out her own sandwich box. This girl had Primrose completely under her spell “you look really cute today Bella.” Primrose says placing a hand on her girlfriend thigh and smiling at her.

Mercury Oriard
image-2018-06-23-5.jpg
Slumping down onto Eloise's back, Mercury placed a trail of delicate kisses over her shoulder, up her neck, and to her ear. "Ready for round two?" He breathed, his rich voiced laced with hunger while a wicked smirk curved his lips. The two students naked bodies glistened with sweat as they recovered from their sexual escapade, Mercury had said he left English class to go to the bathroom when really he was just bored and this was way more fun. Eloise was an attractive blonde whom he had seduced at a party a couple of weeks ago, she seemed to have almost as high a libido as him and a simple text had her meeting him here - her boyfriend probably wouldn't approve of this but what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him.

As if the school could detect when someone was having a good time and immediately needed to put an end to it, the bell rang signalling that it was time for lunch. Eloise spun around, resting her hands on Mercury's chest and connecting their mouths in a passionate kiss. "While I would love to...I told Lloyd I would meet him to eat and you know how finicky he is about punctuality." She explained with a sultry grin, tugging on Mercury's bottom lip as she pulled away. He sighed, stepping away and letting his head fall back onto the wall of the toilet stall. He watched as Eloise returned her clothes to her nubile body and fixed her hair in her compact mirror, she gave Mercury a cute little wave prior to opening the stall and swiftly exiting the toilets.

After redressing, Mercury checked over his appearance in one of the mirrors that hung above the sinks. His outfit composed of a light grey t-shirt, a pair of faded ripped jeans, and some white sneakers; not that any kind of thin material helped against the sweltering heat. It was Arizona, being here felt like walking on the surface of the sun yet being put through the torture of never dying to it. What actually made that worse was the knowledge that the school had A/C yet chose to run it on low, he would tell his parents that if they ever loved him they would pay this school to run the damn A/C properly. However, he didn't trust the school to keep to their word and not scam his parents out of their well-earned money. At least it was easy to cover up the fact he just had sex because everybody was sweaty and looked slightly dishevelled. Not that Mercury particularly cared about what people thought it was simply that the teachers had actually...been doing their jobs recently. It was strange. Regardless, Mercury didn't want to draw any undesirable attention to himself so he would prefer to keep his rule breaking acts on the down-low.

Mingling in with the crowd, Mercury left the bathroom and headed towards the cafeteria, ignoring most of the usual turbulent behaviour that occurred in the school hallways. He had to take a second glance at the staff taking a more active role in combating that, it was something he wouldn't ever get used to after spending a year here and every 'authority figure' letting it slide hitherto. The cafeteria was as chaotic as always, students throwing food, trays, running, shouting etc. This should be the real picture on the Haven's Row website. Mercury scanned the large room, searching for any familiar faces when he spotted Bella and Primrose sitting at a table together. He strolled over to his friends, grinning at the two lovebirds as he sat down next to Primrose. "My mind is still blown that a hardass like you could be softened up." Mercury commented, shaking his head slightly in feigned disbelief as he gazed at Bella. "Kudos to you Primrose, you've finally removed the stick from up Bella's ass." He uttered jokingly, flicking his sapphire gaze to the girl sitting beside him with an amused expression plastered to his face.

Bella and Mercury arrived at Haven's Row around the same time and, as the new kids, automatically gravitated towards one another. They soon struck up a friendship, mainly because of their mutual loathing of this place at the start but Mercury liked to believe it was more genuine now. Primrose was practically nice to everybody, Mercury had no idea how someone like her ended up in a school like this but he was thankful for it. Her kindness was a welcome change from the rest of the assholes here. It was right around then that a tray was carried over to the table by one of the lunch ladies, on it was a cold cup of apple juice and a delicious looking lasagna with a side of fresh salad. The cooks were actually pretty good when given the right motivator, aka bribed with money. Mercury couldn't force himself to stomach the disgusting food that they normally cooked so made a deal with one of the ladies, he gave her a bit of extra cash if she made certain he had a nice meal prepared for him every lunchtime. He glimpsed between his friends, waiting for them to begin eating before he did.

Suri Ortega

410full-alexandra-catherine-axelina.jpg
Everything about this was another reason in Suri's mind to panic. Dealing with these kinds of things was already leagues more difficult for her, given the add obstacles after the accident. But now... she was at a loss. She'd been seated in the back of a van, some hybrid between a tour bus and transportation for prisoners. Aside from the metal piece cuffing her to the seat in front with a modest lengthed chain, they were allowed to pretty much do whatever they wanted to. In front of her two kids were screaming at each other, threatening to do things Suri didn't want to visualize. Someone behind her was crying very loudly. Others chatted amongst each other like they were best friends and this was the run of the mill vacation. Wrong. Wrong. All of it was so horribly wrong. The environment outside was vastly different from Vermont, which was lush and green. Outside felt like a beach with no sand. Or. perhaps that wasn't exactly right. Beaches felt like they had life to them but this... Felt very dead. The scorching heat of Arizona seemed to reach her even in this air conditioned vehicle.

Suri wanted to badly for them to stop, to let her off, to turn around, anything, anything but this trip which felt like it had no destination. And as soon as the bus screeched to a halt and she got a good look outside, she wanted to get back at the bus. People were roaming everywhere. The place wasn't pretty, not in the slightest. It looked like a prison with tall barbed wire fences that reached towards the sky and blocky, brick buildings. Her heart hammered in her chest and various emotions swirled inside of her. Her eyes darted from left to right and as soon as she stepped off the bus, or more like was more or less dragged, she swore she was immediately covered in sweat. Some of the other kids walked ahead with confidence, and if it was because they were familiar with the environment or simply have been here before, Suri was unsure. She couldn't imagine getting cozy in a place like this and she'd only been here thirty seconds.

"Come on! Go!" Someone snapped behind her, giving her back a little shove. Her sneaker caught on a piece of unsteady ground and she almost tripped, managing to catch herself at the last second. And it was then her body faltered. She wanted to go back home. To her parents. To Vermont. To anywhere but here. She paused in her step and shook her head rapidly. Her words abandoned her. She always seemed to regress in these situations. The right words and sentences prompted in her head, behind her eyelids as if taunting her. But when she opened her mouth, nothing came out. Her tongue didn't move. And no matter how hard she tried, begged her body and mind to work together, they would not. So the only thing she did was quiver in place and shake her head.
"I ain't got all day, kid! Fucking get a move on!"

The shove was much rougher this time and Suri didn't have the strength to keep upright. She skidded against the ground, sure she'd collect a few cuts from the tumble as tears collected in the corner of her eyes. She struggled to get up, dazed from the heat, from their reaction and the emotions toiling within.

"Hey! We're supposed to be doing our jobs right, remember? Calm down. At least until after the boss threat is out of the way, huh?"

The other guy shook his head and walked away, clearly without patience for this unruly teen. The other one stepped closer to her and she shrunk back, keeping her eyes fixed on the ground.

"Come on, Snow White. We need you to follow everyone. It won't get any easier if you act up."

Unsure what else she could do, she nodded with her fists clenched at her sides and her head down. She was led along with the rest of them like a herd of sheep into a building that cooled her clammy skin. Instead of people dressed in uniforms, the people here were adorned with lab coats, clipboards, and various equipment. Doctors. Panic welled within her, something involuntary from the familiar environment that she could only paste a negative light over. A woman with a firm and cold hand, greeted her and told her they needed her in one of the chairs. Her eyes glanced over to the other students around her getting their blood taken and various measurements collected.
"Is this the girl with autism?" The woman muttered to another staff member who just nodded and fixed their eyes on her.

She hated the way they spoke about her like she didn't understand and yet she couldn't speak up and prove them wrong. They looked at her like their day was about to get a whole lot harder and Suri... well, she wouldn't mind proving them right.
"Sit down, Suri. We need to take down some information, okay?" The woman murmured to her leaning over to get to her level. Suri averted her eyes, refusing to look at the woman. She refused to do anything for these people. And if there was anything she hated, it was doctors fussing over her.

"N-n-n....."

"What was that?" The woman asked gently.

"N-N-....No!"

Suri's face whipped back around, sending the woman a deathly glare as she shoved her out of the way and ran toward what looked like an exit. She heard them mutter behind her, saying to leave her be and Suri cherished this small victory. She was certain they'd come after her later for the information they needed but for right now, she allowed herself a small amount of relief. Immediately she was greeted by a large group of kids her age and beyond them a cropping of picnic benches where kids ate and chatted amongst themselves. Simultaneously she felt like nobody realized she existed and that everyone was watching her judging her. Her hands shook and she clasped and unclasped them, trying to put her focus on something else. Black spots danced around her vision and her head swam. It was too much for one day, especially for her and her conditions. Her heart had worked too hard. She'd experienced so much. And this heat....

She did everything she could to keep the void away from the edge of her vision as she searched for some place to hide, to get away and to breathe.

The bus screeched to a halt, with the doors sliding open harshly. A pair of sneakers hit the blacktop, followed by a pair of leather chelsea boots. The bus driver unceremoniously tossed a duffle bag toward the ground, which was caught before it hit. A Brics Firenze was also thrown, leading the younger Drake to swan dive and catch it. He landed with an audible "oof" to which Lucky smirked.

"I don't see you trying to save any of this stuff!" Lars squealed, which he usually did whenever he was pissed off. The buss pulled off away from the two, back to whatever cave it probably came from. The boys were almost immediately approached by the guards--'What kind of school needs guards?'--and their things were taken. A stuffy looking woman of african-american descent stood before them, her arms clasped behind her back.

"Bollocks," Lars muttered under his breath, smoothing his hair back down.

"I am Annebella Hartz, the acting guidance counselor for the introductory year of your stay here. Mr. Lucius, " she turned to the eldest son and he found that one of her eyes was a dead, milky white and unerving to look at, "You are turning 18 and although we would prefer you stay longer than the year this is simply not going to be the case. However, your actions could easily affect your brother's stay. Do I make myself clear?" she asked, sounding like she was actually making a threat.

"Yes ma"am," Lucky replied curtly, though his voice fell from his lips with the smoothness of cream. The woman seemed to be appeased with his reply and beckoned the boys to follow her. They filed into the institution, past the metal detectors and into what one could assume to be hell. Both boys began to sweat even though the air conditioning was on full blast. Hartz was giving the basic introductory speech, but none of that was being paid attention to.

"And this is the cafeteria," she droned on, not even starting to turn back to the two behind her. Lucky was composed, but Lars looked as if he were ready to lose his shit. "I will be leaving you two to have a little food and interact with a few of the more reformed peers of yours, but I will return to retrieve you at 12:54 sharp. Dismissed." she turned on a kitten heel, letting Lars take off to find the nearest water fountain.

"Americans! What's wrong with this country?!" he yelled, pushing multiple out of his way.

Lucky laughed, but then found himself to slowly be surrounded by girls who were getting closer and closer. He scooted away slowly, immediately sitting at the first place he could find. he placed his head on the table and from where he could see, all he could see was blonde hair and a set of ripped jeans.

Belladonna Carter

tumblr_netca5speI1qk1atvo1_500.jpg

Location: Cafeteria /Interactions: Primrose, Mercury / Outfit

Belladonna's face gained a new glow when she set her eyes on her beautiful girlfriend, Primrose. One of the few reasons she didn't completely despise the school was the fact the facility had brought her and her girlfriend together. Prim, being the sweetheart she was, was certainly an anomaly in a place filled with so many delinquents, which was one of the many reasons Belladonna liked her so much. Wherever she walked, she brought a sense of positivity and hope with her, almost as if they were stuck to her like the sweet aroma of a perfume. It was odd for such a kind soul to be with someone like Belladonna and like her for something more than her looks, but the girls shared a chemistry unlike no other. A bond that not even magic could break (or so they hoped).

"God damn," Belladonna exclaimed, admiring her girlfriend's dashing good looks that only became more noticeable with the short sundress she was wearing. "I think we finally found the reason why Arizona's so hot today, god damn!" the girl teased, a bit loud enough to grab the attention of the students in a nearby table despite the commotion of the cafeteria. Belladonna didn't mind. She wanted people to know Primrose was all hers, and everyone in the school knew that messing, sometimes even looking, at Primrose would mean hell from Bella and the rest of her friends who all took it upon themselves to protect the most innocent one in the group. Or at least, the person they thought was the most innocent of the group. Belladonna had shared a bed with Primrose enough times to know that behind that adorable face of hers, lived a girl wild enough to give Mercury a run for his money.

When Prim took out her pink lunchbox, Belladonna immediately pushed the lunch tray with the disgusting food in front of her. Letting it fall on the floor along with the rest of the food thrown in the usual food fights that the younger students liked to participate in. Another thing she liked about being Prim's girlfriend, was her grandmother. She hadn't spoken much with the old woman, but Belladonna knew she loved her. For some reason Bella couldn't begin to understand, the woman had taken up the habit of spoiling her rotten with food, gifts, and the occasional advice whenever she needed it. It was like a mother away from home, only this mother didn't spend all her time working and probably wouldn't send her to a correctional facility even if she killed half of the earth's population.

"American, Japanese, Mexican, Martian, I don't care what kind of food she prepares as long as it's better than the trash they serve here," Belladonna replied, taking a bite of her sandwich and then taking a sip of water. The only downside to Prim having such an amazing grandmother was the fact that she lived close to the school, which meant Prim got to leave and head home every day after classes. Not only was this bad because she couldn't spend every night with her girlfriend like she wanted, it also meant Belladonna only had access to grandma's cooking during lunch period and had to eat the school's food during breakfast and dinner. So, Belladonna savoured every bite of the simple peanut butter sandwich as it if were the last thing she would ever eat.

Mercury joined the table shortly afterwards, immediately commenting on the couple's affection, especially now that Primrose was also complimenting her girlfriend with a hand on her thigh. "I've still got the stick in case you want me to stick it up yours, Mercury," Belladonna replied, smiling at the boy. Her friendship with Mercury was one of the few genuine friendships she'd managed to make during her time at Haven's Row. A friendship that mostly consisted of cracking insults and one-liners at the other and playful fights, but a wonderful friendship nonetheless. "And can't you blame me? It's practically a crime not to fall in love with such a pretty face. And we do make a badass power couple, right Prim darling?" she said, kissing Prim's soft lips and placing her own hand on her girlfriend's thigh.

"No kissing in the cafeteria!" came a voice behind her. Belladonna broke the kiss to turn around and see a man around his 40's wearing the usual guard uniform and walking towards them. "If I see you too kissing again, it'll be detention for everyone in this table. Understood?" the man continued, but left before Bella could answer. Even if he hadn't left, Belladonna doubted she would've been able to reply to the guard. Not because she was short on insults, of that she had plenty. But because the guard's behaviour was so odd it completely caught her off guard. It was normal for students to share kisses, and sometimes even more than that, in the school grounds in front of everybody. The staff, as always, didn't care about the student's relationships to intervene and reprimand them for their behaviour. And detention? She didn't even know the school had detentions!

"Have you guys noticed the staff have been acting strangely lately?" Belladonna asked, turning back to her friends. "I saw teachers taking away phones during class, guards breaking up fights, and now this? I've been here for a year, and this is the first time I ever see any kind of discipline being enforced in this place. Do you think they're being forced to act like this?" She wondered. If they were, it was most likely the doctors. Who were the only adults in the school who seemed to care about their job and didn't like the disarray the school was always in. But why would they intervene now and not before? More importantly, why would the rest of the staff care?

She pulled out her "borrowed" pink Japanese fan and began fanning herself with it, panting a bit because of the heat. Out of her peripheral vision, she managed to make out the new students coming in after getting off the bus. Their status as new seen thanks to the the horror and surprise most newcomers have when entering Haven's Row for the first time. "And low and behold, the fresh meat is here," she commented, scanning the group to see if she managed to find anyone interesting. "Poor bastards don't even know what's coming to them,"

Primrose couldn’t help but smile as Bella showered with affection as the young women’s cheeks became a light shade of pink. Bella always knew how to make Primrose feel special and she’d made Primrose special from the moment they’d met. Primrose couldn’t help but laugh at Bella’s appreciation for a single sandwhich but then again the food at this place really did suck and no matter how many time she Primrose asked for more nutritional food for the student body her requests were refused by a principle with a budget tighter than his asshole. Mercury joined the table not much longer after Primrose already commenting on the pairs affection towards eachother. “Thanks Mer, I tried my hardest.” Primrose says with a warm smile plastered onto her face. Mercury had been friends with Bella before Primrose and Bella together. Bella and Primrose were actually introduced when Mercury decided to peruse Primrose for his ‘needs’ but to Mercury’s shock and horror he was rejected and Bella and Primrose ended up together.

“Hm, I do agree that we are a badass couple.” Primrose says happily accepting the kiss from her gorgeous girlfriend but their loving exchange was interrupted when a guard ordered them to stop. “Sorry.” Primrose muttered under her breath not really wanting to be seen as defiant. Primrose listened to Bella’s thoughts about the teachers more proactive approach to discipline in recent days “I did see a few people get dress coded this morning but the teachers still suck.” Primrose says still slightly annoyed about how her math questions were ignored earlier today. Something then caught Primrose’s eye, a pink fan that had gone missing from her bedroom a couple of days ago “Bells! How many times do I have to tell you? If you want to borrow something just ask.” Primrose says scolding her girlfriend but also wanting to be fanned by her as the heat was becoming more unbearable by the minute. Primrose took a bite of her cheese sandwich as she turned around to look at the ‘fresh meat’ that her girlfriend was mentioning. Primrose had actually been told about the new kids a couple days earlier as instead of the teachers helping kids feel at ease it seemed to be Primrose’s job. “I’ll go see if they’re okay.” Primrose says placing her sandwich down and getting up from the safety of the table and winding her way through the jungle of kids creating so many different kinds of trouble.

Primrose finally made her way through the cafeteria to where the new kids were sat. One had his head on the table and so Primrose took the time to get to know him. She sat opposite him but he probaly hadn’t even noticed her presence. “Hey, I’m Primrose, Nice to meet you. I’m here to help you guys settle in, it’s supposed to be the teachers job but half of them can’t be bothered anymore.” Primrose says trying to make him feel at ease. The young woman looked up seeing a few kids walking the new kid, gone off milk in hand. Fresh meat for some kids meant new punching bags but Primrose was determined to let this kid have the nicest stay possible at this school. The kids with the out of date milk came closer, Primrose kept her eyes glued to them not knowing if they were actually going to do it or not. All of a sudden the kids made their move running towards the new kid but Primrose grabbed a tray covering the new kid as the spoiled milk rolled onto the tray and onto the floor instead of the new kid. “Did you forget what it was like on your first day? Cut him some slack!” Primrose says but she moves her attention to the new kid “Are you okay?” She asked genuine concern in her eyes. “Come sit with me and my friends. It may seem a bit primevil but it’s better to sit in a group, makes you less of a target.” Prim says to him hoping that he would take up her offer.

Lucky rose his head up from the table top, throwing back his hood in the process. He didn't expect to see a girl whose personality could easily be translated to being a ball of sunshine. Especially when she just saved him from being pelleted with expired milk.

"Thanks," Lucky replied, spotting something odd in behind her head. "I'm Lucius Drake, but you can call me Lucky if you want." He got up and the duo began walking toward the other table. Looking down while shoving his arms into his hoodie pockets, he frowned slightly at the fact that he wasn't as defined as he wanted to be. He looked as if he was sorta an adult, but kept some of the child-like roundness that seemed like it wouldn't just drop away. Sighing as he followed the ever luminous Primrose, the act of looking up proved to be an ill-advised one.

This fucker was beautiful.

It wasn't his perfect hair or his deep, strong eyes. It was that effing smile. A gasp escaped Lucky's chest, keeping him frozen in place for at least a beat. He then reached forward and grabbed Prim's arm, gently. "Is that your friend?" he asked, hoping it was false. It the fact was true, then they'd have to hang out together and eventually become friends. And Lucky had enough on his plate so far.

That fact was proven when his brother swung the lunch tray he'd picked up at milk-kid's head.

After getting his water, from the horrid water fountain one was expected to just drink from, Lars began to make his way back to his brother. The poor man had taken to the heat like a feather takes to the wind. Meanwhile, Lars was taking his time to get to him, preoccupied with a girl who had her hair dyed like the clown jester in that one supervillain movie. He barely caught a glimpse of when it happened, but he saw exactly who threw the rotten milk. And he wasn't having any of that shit, to be perfectly honest.

Picking up a lunch tray, he stalked over to the kid, who looked like a grimy sausage with grimier sausage fingers.

"Oi!" he called out, getting exactly the reaction he wanted. The kid turned and immediately ate a huge helping of hardened plastic. Falling over the table and taking a few plates of the rancid school food with him, the ingrate's friends quickly took up to defend what honor was left to defend. Lars tossed the plate aside and took ginga, the primary fighting stance he'd need to whoop ass. Rocking back and forth, Lars smirked and cocked his head, his ponytail fluttering a bit. The two parties would have met had it not been for his name being called.

"Lawrence, get your ass over here now!" Lucky's voice boomed, earning a groan from his younger brother. Flipping off his would be assailants, Lars turned around and began walking in the direction his brother had called him from.

Tucking into his meal that might as well be considered gourmet if compared to the standards of the school, Mercury quietly groaned as the first succulent bite hit his tongue. Losing what would be thought of as pocket change to him was absolutely worth it. You couldn't maintain a body like his on the disgusting excuse for food the school served which held no nutritional value whatsoever after all. Mercury's eyes lifted to meet Bella's at her witty reply to his jesting comment. "Oh, sounds like fun." Mercury smirked, before taking a sip of his apple juice. Honestly, banter like this is what often got him through the days here at Haven's Row, he wouldn't ever admit it to Bella but he was thankful for her friendship more than she knew. Imagine having nothing other than secret hookups (sometimes they weren't so lowkey) to entertain you at a place like this, things would be incredibly dull. "Well, I can't deny that Prim is certainly stunning and that you two make a badass couple. She missed out not getting a piece of this though." Mercury remarked, gesturing a hand over himself.

The couple kissed and Mercury was about to continue eating his lunch when a guard scolded them for the public display of affection. It was adding onto the exceedingly weird behaviour of all the staff recently, since when did they care what the students did as long as they were still getting paid? Both Bella and Primrose were as equally shocked at this as him, turning around with dumbfounded expressions on their faces. Mercury snickered at the word 'detention' being using in this school, for the year he had been here you were more likely to get hit by a stray train plowing through the building than getting a detention. He ate some more of his food as he listened to his friends observations of the strange activity within Haven's Row as of late, they had noticed the peculiar sight of teachers actually doing their job as much as him. "I've seen the staff giving a shit for once a lot lately, there is no way they just suddenly started caring of their own accord. Something big has to be happening soon, maybe the school's first inspection or someone important visiting. I have no idea but I do believe they're being compelled to act like proper authority figures by something, or someone." Mercury speculated, pondering about whether the government had genuinely took note that this school was a hellhole and needed to be fixed up.

A soft chuckle escaped Mercury's lips as Primrose chided Bella for 'borrowing' her pink fan, it was practically in Bella's nature to take things, he was willing to bet that in fifty years Bella would be a kleptomaniac. Mercury was plopping a cherry tomato into his mouth as the new students entered the cafeteria, the majority of the people in the room looking in that direction to survey the fresh meat; as Bella had accurately called them. In typical Primrose fashion, she announced that she was going to see if the new kids were okay. "Your girlfriend is precious." Mercury stated, watching as Prim strolled away from the table, frankly the school didn't deserve someone like her. He switched between finishing his meal and flicking his gaze up to witness Prim be the beacon of kindness and joy that she was. The sight of a student attempting to pour what Mercury assumed was expired milk onto one of the newbies made him raise his brows curiously. Of course, Primrose acted as a guardian angel and protected the stranger from the attack, Mercury couldn't help but smile at Prim's benevolence - if he didn't enjoy being bad so much he would follow her lead. A brief conversation passed between the Primrose and the guy she saved prior to them beginning to head this way, it finally gave Mercury the opportunity to get a proper look at him.

Clearly, the stranger had already taken note of Mercury because when he glanced to him they connected eyes. Mercury very slowly let his gaze trail over the new student and then back up to make eye contact once more, he was attractive that's for sure. The best part about having a plethora of fresh faces arrive at the school was that Mercury constantly had new prey to chase. He wore a roguish grin but was soon distracted by the loud smack of two objects colliding, looking past Prim and the guy she was with, Mercury saw a kid go tumbling over a table along with some trays of food. He sniggered at the spectacle, the one with the ponytail getting into a stance that said he was ready to fight whoever came at him. Unfortunately, Haven's Row wouldn't be blessed with such entertainment as Prim's new friend called out to 'Lawrence' and he headed over this way.

Mercury gulped down the last of his drink as Prim returned to the table with the new guy, he glimpsed between the two as they sat down and Lawrence quickly followed behind. "Welcome to Haven's Row, I'm Mercury and it is a pleasure to meet you." He said, with a velvet smooth voice that probably tasted like honey, his eyes lingering on the shorter of the males. "I'm afraid you're going to have to get used to assholes trying shit with you as it's a frequent occurrence here."

Belladonna Carter

Location: Cafeteria /Interactions: Primrose, Mercury, Lars and Lucky / Outfit

She let out a loud groan as her girlfriend stood to help the newcomers arriving to the cafeteria. She didn't dislike newcomers, mostly because they had yet to hurt her or the people she loved in any way, but she simply didn't want to feel responsible for a bunch of fresh meat. It usually took a long time for people to grow used to the way things worked in Haven's Row, and most lessons were learned the hard way. Belladonna had adapted well after her first few months. If she could do it, then so could the new students.

"Paige whyyy?" she whined, watching Prim as she approached a rather handsome new student sitting not too far from their table. "You know, Merc, I love how much of a sweetheart she is. But damn does it bite me in the ass sometimes. I don't know about you, but I'm not exactly looking forward to babysitting a bunch of low-life criminals. Babysitting you is enough."

Paige's conversation with the newcomer seemed to go well, which wasn't surprising. After all, no one could deny Paige and her friendliness. Belladonna had to admit, the stranger didn't look too bad. Definitely didn't look as vulnerable as some of the other students that came in, while also not having that psychotic demeanour some newcomers tended to give. He looked boring though, at least too boring for Belladonna's liking, judging by how he seemed to be hiding his face and hands in his hoodie. The fact that he was able to wear a hoodie in such a hot day was a complete mystery for Belladonna, and she made a mental note to ask him afterwards. If he somehow had a way to avoid the heat, or not be bothered by it, she could see them becoming very close friends in the future.

Belladonna was quick to notice the student walking towards the new student and Primrose with spoiled milk in his hand. She'd seen this kind of prank before, it was a quick way for bullies to assert their dominance and humiliate the weaker students, and it was usually quite successful. She even recognised the kid behind it. Known asshole, with enough friends to scare any of the younger or newer students into submission. What was his name? Thompson? Dawson? Well, it didn't matter. She usually wouldn't care much about the prank, but this time her girlfriend was in danger of becoming a victim, and she would rather be dead than to allow some low-life criminal to hurt her girlfriend like that. She quickly stood from her seat, ready to leap out at the bully before he could throw the milk, but it was too late. Fortunately, Primrose's reflexes were good enough to block the stream of milk thrown at the new student. Despite the fact Prim was well, Belladonna was still incredibly angry. The audacity of those students to attack such an important person of the school, she would make them pay.

"Thompson, Dawson, whatever your stupid name is, I swear to any fucking God that's up there if a single drop of milk touched Prim I will hang you from the top of the cactus and keep you there until hell freezes over!" She shouted, gaining a few angry looks from the staff who were too busy dealing with the other fights to bother her for threatening another student. But her threats didn't seem necessary, as a student quickly kicked the kid with one of the lunch trays, making him fall over almost immediately. Belladonna watched with unwavering interest as the stranger prepared to fight the other kids, when the stranger Primrose had picked up called him over to sit with them. Dumbfounded and amazed, Belladonna sat back down and whistled at the two strangers.

"It seems I was mistaken!" she exclaimed, glancing at the new students as Prim returned to her place next to her. "Maybe you're not as helpless as the other new students, good thing Prim knows which strangers to take under her wing. Thank you for the tray thing, by the way. That little asshole had it coming," she commented, pausing to take another bite of her sandwich before continuing. "The name's Belladonna Coben, Haven's Row veteran. Welcome to Hell-on-Earth."
