Of all the things Miranda had imagined that could happen, none were close to what the reply she got was. If the spirit wasn't being nice, but actually deceiving and malevolent, then her request for it to leave might have backfired into anger and possibly a curse. But if it was really being nice, It could have just let her be or insisted to help...
What the Skitty hadn't considered was the possibility that the voice in her head didn't belong to a something, but a someone!

"OK listen carefully."

Mi brought the machinations of her mind to a halt. The change to a more seemingly serious tone did make her uneasy, very uneasy, but the kitten took a deep breath in an attempt to calm down and comply with the stranger's request. Following the instructions, she turned her upper body to look over her shoulder. A speck of blue and white caught her attention, and now curious, she made a full turn, in a way that now the girl was sitting down and staring directly that the other 'mon. A Meowstic as he had let her know.
The Skitty looked at the other student for a while. Those were some very pretty colors! Miranda felt so silly out of a sudden. She had started assuming things from a children's book instead of thinking rationally... Again.

"Oh...That, that makes a lot more sense..." she admitted, glancing down a bit ashamed, "Hi Sil. I'm...Miranda...", the kitten raised a hand and waved shyly, "Hi. Uhh, again."

It was some progress, awkward, but progress.
Afterwards, Sil said something about using 'Psychic' and papers moving. A bit out of topic, but then, surprise! Her pile of colored papers did move! And re-organized themselves! Mi observed the spectacle of shifting pages in awe. If she ever had to watch this all day, she wouldn't complain at all~

"Talking in people's minds and moving things without touching them?? That's so...so...AWESOME!!!", the Skitty squealed in joy, her pupils in full, "I bet that when you're told to clean your room, you can do so lickety-split!"

"Yeah..." Sil said, rubbing the back of hid head embarrassed. He'd always cleaned up his room at the orphanage really fast, but he'd never had much stuff to clean up. Honestly, the wide-eyed look, while adorable, made him a little uncomfortable. He wasn't used to being stared at. However, the awe was a nice change from the anxiety that she'd been experiencing before. He finished sorting the papers, and they floated into Miranda's bag. "There we go. That should help you." He paused for a bit, not used to conversation. His mind frantically searched for something to talk about, and he spotted the notebook.

"That's a nice looking notebook. What's in it?"

Citrine eyes lit up when Zach spoke about his home village as well as a fancy fact about the geography of the island. "What, no way?! That sounds super cool! Man, I'm glad I join the club with ya then because I so wanna see the entire island change." She exclaimed and clapped her hands. "Just think, every day is a whole new terrain to explore." The thought made for a happy Citrine who now couldn't wait for class to start. The Jolteon's thoughts were soon interrupted by a mysterious fella came over and introduced himself. "Salutations! I'm Citrine, happy to meet ya Kvothe." Citrine introduced herself in her usual chipper voice. Riolux Riolux explosiveKitten explosiveKitten Dex118 Dex118

Kvothe was caught in surprise and he didn't knew why exactly, it was tremendously strange for him to be surprised by something that was already expected for that introduction situtation. Maybe it was because he was shy, maybe it was due to his happiness of a slow but actual progress of making friends, maybe it was because he was happy that he got where he finally wanted or probably for all the three reasons.

Kvothe heard the Jolteon say 'Salutations! I'm Citrine, happy to meet ya Kvothe.' , for another small matter of a tought he replied, now with not a truly strong and determined tone of voice, but he did his best and said after bowing into her direction "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Citrine." He paused again "By the way, any of you could tell me what time is it?"

The display of embarrassment from her new friend was completely missed by the Skitty, who while still listening, couldn't help but glance beyond, to the rest of the pokemon in the room. 'What kind of exciting things could the others do?', she wondered. Surely the surprises wouldn't stop so soon, and that sounded fun! But, simply running towards them to ask would be reckless. She couldn't expect that everyone was as friendly as Sil seemed to be so far. Miranda let out a short sigh. The same flame that powered her curiosity also fueled her apprehension.
Damn, she wanted to go there and talk to them, and ask a mountain of questions, and see all the things! But at the same time... At the same time, that was extremely scary. One wrong move and the kitten could be in big trouble!! As in, life threatening trouble!

It took the Meowstic to talk again for Mi to come back from her thoughts. She hadn't noticed it, but at some point the Skitty had starting holding her breath, and let out a low 'hoh' windy sound as she finally opened her mouth again, once again paying full attention to the other:

"Oh, you didn't have to go with the trouble of even putting them back in! But uh, that IS helpful. So thank you, Sil.", Miranda replied with a smile, but mentally. She had done so almost instinctively, in response to the boy's telepathy usage.

It took her a while to realize the mistake. Just because he could talk in her head it didn't mean he could also hear her thoughts! The smile faded back into a mix of awkwardness and discomfort. Thinking up about what to say was infinitely times easier than actually saying things.

"T-thank you, Sil", the Skitty managed to say with a shy nod. The well constructed phrase she had thought up before, refused to let itself be repeated out loud.

Not feeling very confident in her capacity to continue this conversation, Miranda decided it was time to get up and actually input her electives in the terminal. Or she was going to, but was stopped by a new question.

"That one?", the kitten, now back on her paws, pointed at the little brown notebook still in the floor and asked, despite it being the only one she had actually taken out of the backpack, "That's a uhh...", she hesitated, "Just a silly journal I do sometimes. It is a total wreck! Yep, suuuuper confusing~~"

Mi tried her best to respond normally, but inside a new twirl of anxiety was forming. Part of the truth had been hidden. Surely, saying something like: 'That's a journal that I need to fill out as part of my psychological treatment', would not give Sil a good impression of her.
She hoped that by lying about it being messy and hard to understand she could keep the Meowstic from asking any further. Miranda wasn't ready to open up about her mental state yet, and well, they had barely met too! Nu-uh! Better to keep it to herself, instead of potentially ruining what they had going on so far. He didn't need to know.

Underneath the Skitty's apprehension, Sil could sense a growing curiosity. That was good; while her anxiety was still present, there were other, more positive emotions to balance it.

"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

A shout of... something... rang through Sil's mind. He could tell that it came from the Skitty, and the emotion of the mental blast seemed to be one of appreciation, but he couldn't make out any words. Sil winced slightly at the shout. Did she just try to reply in telepathy? He couldn't, wouldn't, read other's minds, but her emotions were so raw, so open anyway, that her reply kind of threw itself at him. After she thanked him out loud, he asked, "Did you just try to speak to me mentally? I got something, but I couldn't make out words." A second later, Sil realized that sounded like he was trying to read her mind. The next words came in a rush. "I'msorryIwasn'tactuallytryingtoreadyourmindbutyouremotionsaresoopenanditkindofjustcameoutatmeandIcan'treadanythingelseIpromisepleasedon'tbemadatme." Sil said, apologizing profusely. He tried to slow himself down as he explained. "I'm very sensitive to emotions and auras. My mom was a psychic like me and my dad was a Lucario, so I can't help but notice extreme emotions. I promise I wasn't trying to read your mind." He apologized again.

He was so sorry, that he didn't even comment on the fact that he knew that she was lying about the notebook. While he was curious, to him it was unimportant. It didn't matter if she had secrets she needed to keep. He had secrets himself. He wasn't going to go around introducing people to Miles, Mom, and Dad. They would definitly think him crazy again. No, better keep it to himself rather than potentially ruining what they had going on so far. She didn't need to know.

Zach looked over at the clock again. "Looks like it's-" he started before one of the doors to the east side of the room opened, revealing an official-looking Kadabra, who approached the group of students.

"It is now 2:30, which means it is time for all present students to please make their way to the Miraculum Academy Teleportation Room, where you will be transferred en masse to the Academy, where Headmaster Adagnitio will show you around the grounds before escorting you to your respective Houses. So please grab your things and make your way into the room." the Kadabra announced to them, gesturing to the door.

"Welp. Looks like it's finally time to go. Ready guys?" Zach asked as he walked over to where he'd left his suitcase and shoulder bag, picking them up. "C'mon. I'll race ya there." he joked and started to speed walk towards the door, gesturing to Mars, Citrine, and Kvothe.

"Did you just try to speak to me mentally?", Sil asked after her thanks, much to the kitten's surprise. So he was able of reading her mind! Even if he did say he couldn't make up the words. Welp.

"I uhhh... M-maybe?", Miranda lowered her ears in an expression of embarrassment. She hadn't expected it to work at all! Now there was no way she could deny it, "Stupid, stupid Miranda. Why did you even think that was a good idea??"

While the Skitty reprimanded herself, the Meowstic seemed to have a sudden machine-gun speech outburst. Mi squealed, startled. She tried making out the words that came to her mind, light-speed, but was only able to catch a some of the start and some of the end. Be mad at him? Why would she be mad at him?

"Ahh! No! That's fine. I'm...kinda the one who put you to it in the first place.", she tried calming Sil down, giving him a heartwarming smile, though, behind it there was a mix of guilt and sadness, "If there's anyone to blame, it is probably me...", the Skitty's tail dropped slightly, touching the floor. The sudden cold sensation on the tip caused her to flinch and lift the appendage back up in a reflex.

The boy went on about his family. Truth be told, the girl could barely assign the pokemon names to their species. There was so much of that encyclopedia on 'mons she had forgotten. Dang, perhaps she should have brought that old book along with her... Even if it was probably outdated by now. Maybe the school has a library where she can borrow one? The part about the Meowstic himself made a bit more sense, however.
Mi wondered if being around her, who had such little control over her emotions, wasn't going to become a problem to the other in the future. She made a mental note to pay more attention to things, even though that would be hard, but didn't have the courage to actually bring the matter up at all.

"Hey, I'm not mad at you, I promise.", Mi reiterated once he had apologized again, putting her earlier concern in the back of her mind, "I'm more surprised that worked at all. I mean...kinda. That's pretty cool!"

That's when the sound of a door opening echoed through the room. Miranda instantly jerked her head in the direction. She did not jump or squeal this time but her heart still speed up. There was no indication of what could come out from that mysterious door and her imagination started running wild, all the way from aliens to a gang assault. Of course she would miss the most obvious and simple options...
Still, even though the message was something as simple as a round-up of the students so they would be sent to the academy, her uneasiness did not cease. Slowly, the Skitty took a couple steps back as the Kadabra approached. Her fear and reaction was irrational, instinctive. A stranger was coming closer, so she needed to retain the distance between them, as a counter measure, a prevention. Of what? Not even the kitten was sure.

The girl glanced back at the terminal. Dang, the interaction with Sil had been so delightful she had forgot everything about it. Still alert, but putting an extra effort to concentrate, Miranda finally inputted her electives in the machine: Choir and Outdoor's Club, whether unsure on how to feel about them, the feeling of uncertainty only growing worse when allied to her current apprehension.
She glanced back at the group further ahead, someone was cheerfully calling for their pals. If only MI herself could be excited about what was to come, but the thought of diving into a crowd alone was terrifying. Her breath started going heavy. Oh no, not now! This was not the place, neither the time, to have a panic attack!!

"Calm down, calm down. They're just pokemon, they're all pokemon. Just like you. Nothing is gonna go wrong...Nothing is gonna- Who am I kidding?! ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING IS GOING WRONG! I'm not READY!! I JUST CAN'T-!!!"

Miranda's flight instinct was flashing like crazy. The Skitty's breathing had not only grown heavier it had also gone irregular, panicked. She looked around in a frenzy searching for the safest place available and there was only one spot that seemed to seal the deal:

"SIL"

She ducked for her notebook and backpack, flinging the later over her right shoulder, then landing beside the Meowstic in, not a dash, but two unbalanced hops to cover even more distance. Mi almost fell, but upon making a quick recovery, hid behind her friend, eyes closed, holding the journal notebook firmly between her paws:

"Think of a happy place, think of a happy place. The sun is shining and there's grass and mom and EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE FINE.", the girl thought to herself, inhaling and exhaling slowly, bringing her breathing rate to at least something closer to normal.

"So uhh...", she finally started in a low voice, her behavior right now was outright pathetic and probably confusing the poor 'mon, but she really needed him right now, "...W-would you mind if I walked behind you for a little while?", the kitten let out a short 'Heh', with an awkward smile, attempting to mask her still lingering anxiety.
"PLEASE"

Sil gave a huge sigh of relief. Reading someone's mind without permission was considered rude in the psychic community, and he didn't want to give her the wrong idea about him.

"It's not like she knows that Sil." His mom said. "But I'm proud of you anyway."

"Thanks mom."
Sil said, making sure to hide that communication from everyone else. "Don't feel bad, it's not your fault." He said, noticing her tail droop. "I guess it is kind of cool that it worked, slightly." Sil said to Miranda.

Sil turned as well, when the large doors in the side of the room opened. The Kadabra said something about all the students teleporting together to the Academy. All of them? Sil didn't like the sound of that. Thoughts started swirling around his mind. What if he lost control again? He could kill all of these innocent Pokemon. He could kill Miranda and Kliff and Klay... Even if he didn't lose control of his telekinetic powers, he could still lose control of his telepathy. That would be almost as catastrophic; he could drive everyone here insane. He unconsciously began to dig through his bag with his left hand for his flute case, but stopped once he felt the massive explosion of anxiety behind him. Seriously, how could one single Pokemon generate that much emotion?

"So uhh... W-would you mind if I walked behind you for a little while?" Miranda said with a small laugh. "!!!!!!!!" rang through Sil's mind, a note of pleading clearly evident. It was closer to words than before.

How am I supposed to help Miranda stay calm when I can't even calm myself down. Sil thought to himself.

"Remember, it helps to have something to focus on." His father said to him.

An idea popped into his head. "Sure you can, Miranda." Sil said, trying to mask his own nervousness. "You know, when I'm nervous, like right now, it helps to have something to focus on. How about we just talk. The whole time we're nervous." Sil said. "I could tell you about different kinds of Pokemon, some funny stories, anything, just to keep our minds off the fact that we're nervous." Sil said with a chuckle.

Hearing the Meowstic speak again was like having a torch, though faint, light up amidst a dark and hazy cave. Despite not being enough to illuminate the entire area, it was capable of providing the her lost inside, a path, and some reassurance. The tightness in the skitty's chest loosened a bit as she concentrated on her friend's new words, nothing more:

"A distraction, huh? That- that might help.", Miranda replied, not giving it much faith in the start, until the subject of stories came up, "Ooh!", she exclaimed excited, "I'd like to hear more about other 'mons please!! I-"

"...haven't been outside much... Not through Rustboro, even harder other places. Yeah, that's definitely not something I'm supposed to say. It would only bring more and more questions I don't want to answer to..."

Mi went silent for a second. She hadn't missed it, when Sil said 'like right now'. He had his own problems to deal with, and here she was, leeching on him for her own emotional stability while there was a possibility this was actually making it harder on him.

"And yet, he responded so kindly...", the kitten reflected, a discreet melancholic smirk dawning on her face, but as soon gone as sudden as it had come.

Grabbing the journal with one hand and unzipping, with some difficulty, her backpack with the other, Miranda stored the brown notebook inside, safe from the current of people they were bound to face in the not so far future. The skitty took a deep breath. She had to calm down. Not just for her this time, but for Sil's sake as well. It was only just that they supported each other right now, not being a bystander:

"So, ready when you are! Who should start saying something?? Weeeell, this IS technically something...", Miranda rolled her eyes at herself for comedic effect. This would surely keep them both distracted...

Kvothe was listening to Zach when a Kadabra entered the room and said that it was time to enter the Academy. Kvothe was filled with different emotions and memories everything he made to get right where he was, all of his pain... But then, he remembered that he lived to this moment, he continued to live for being there and of course to keep a promise...

Kvothe putted his hood back on and nobody else saw what happened at that moment, Kvothe, the one called without almost any emotions dropped a tear. Maybe it was because he finally got where he wanted, maybe it was because he was going to be able to keep a promise, probably because he remembered of those he couldn't protect or maybe for all three reasons. After that, he began to walk normally towards the (recently open) door.

(Sorry for the short post, but I'm not entirely well and I needed to post here. Btw, sorry for the inactivity... Tests week)

Sil was relieved when Miranda agreed so readily. There was a tinge of sadness in her otherwise enthusiastic response toward him telling her about other 'mons, as well as a peculiar expression, but Sil didn't dwell on those things for long. He felt Miranda's anxiety lessen, and realized that she was actively trying to calm herself down so that he wouldn't panic himself.

"Oh, Arceus. She's trying to help me calm down," he thought to himself, a slight smile crossing his face. "Well, we could just start." Sil said, and he began to ramble. "Something interesting that you should know about Meowstic is that the males are very different from the females. They have different strengths and weaknesses. For example the boys, like me, are very good at setting up psychic barriers for a defensive role in combat. The girls," and here he projected a picture of a female Meowstic at Miranda, "are better at more... elemental powers, if that makes sense. Lightning, shadows, and the like. They generally take an offensive role. However, both boy and girl Meowstic control their psychic abilities through an organ in their ears." Here he lifted up his ear slightly to show her, and waves of psychic energy pulsed from the eye shaped organ. "It's said that Meowstic have the potential to grind a 10 ton truck into dust."

He looked around at the gathering crowd. "When does the meeting start?" He asked, somewhat randomly.

Riolux Riolux you should probably just cut your losses on this one and get the RP moving. I'll tag some people here, but we should keep going.

"Well, we could just start.", the Meowstic had commented as if it was the most simple and obvious thing in the whole universe.

"Oh.", Miranda laughed at her own silliness, "Right, that makes a lot of sense."

Interested in what Sil had to say, the Skitty fell silent, directing all of her attention to her friend's exposition. The other 'mon had decided to explain more about himself, or rather his species. Mi tried to follow, but some of the concepts went straight over her head. What did Psychic Barrier stand for? A barrier was a kind of wall... Was it an ability that let Meowstics make a wall out of nowhere? But then, why was it a psychic wall? Every wall was, well, a wall! Nothing special about them, right?
The mental projections make the kitten go 'Woahhh' both in awe of the pretty colors and the boy's ability to actually send her images like that. The more her friend did things like that, the more Miranda thought on how cool Sil's moves were. The list of amazingness kept going up! First telepathy, then the pile of papers, then mind reading and now this! The most she could do was run around and well... Slap things! Not nearly as cool...

Fun times were, however, put on a halt as the subject got more serious. After showing her the organ hidden by the folding of his ears, Sil made one last comment and completely caught Miranda off-guard, forcing her to take her gaze out of him. A truck?! Such a big and heavy object... Meowstics, could turn that thing to dust??!! OH MY, THAT'S SO SCARY!!
Instantly, a paranoid alert flashed in her mind and Mi tensed. 'It's dangerous here', 'If anything happens you'll be history', 'You're better off alone, at least it's safe', the barrage of thoughts attempted to cloud her judgment again, trying to get her to leave. Leave? But, to where?! Anywhere else she'd be surrounded by strangers, maybe even more dangerous pokemon!

"No way, It's Sil we're talking about. Even... Even if he CAN do that to a truck, he has been nothing but kind to me! I have no cause to be scared!", the girl retorted mentally, momentarily overpowering her fearful thoughts enough to get back to reason.
While that was going on, Miranda had lost herself, staring at the background, but also beyond it. For a split-second, her expression had changed to one of terror, though it was not clear of what, before it completely vanished.

Managing to get out of that by herself, the Skitty finally looked back at her friend. Acting as if nothing had really happened, Mi carried on with the conversation and walking towards the Teleportation Room to the Academy. In fact, after the boy's loooong explanation on Meowstics they were right by the door at this point.

"That's not fair Sil. You had so many interesting things to say! I'll never ever EVER top that!", she pretended to complain, "The most I can do now is tell you the story of when mom burned my birthday cake and we were forced to eat somewhere else!!", the kitten shrugged as they entered the room.

The conversation was going great. Sil was actually enjoying himself speaking with Miranda, which didn't happen often, and he could tell that she was enjoying it as well.

Then he mentioned the truck.

He didn't mean to... it just kind of slipped out. Why did I mention that? Sil thought tho himself. He was just on a roll, and that was just the next thing in a list of abilities that Meowstics were said to have. He immediately could tell the effect that that statement had on her. Miranda's face blanched, her tail quivered slightly, and a powerful sense of fear exuded from her mind. She's terrified. It's like I'm some kind of monster. Sil thought, immediately regretful. His emotions were beginning to spiral out of control. She's right to be fearful. I could destroy her. I could destroy this entire place.

Just like I destroyed my home. I am a monster.

Sil was keeping his ears tightly shut, trying his best not to let any psychic energy leak out, but to anyone perceptive in that field, energy was beginning to swirl around him. It wasn't having any physical effect yet; maybe a slight rustling of fur or papers if they were near and a highly charged atmosphere, as if lightning were about to strike. However, his control could soon deteriorate, and the results of that would be catastrophic. He noticed Miranda's emotions stabilize, but it was too late for him to just focus on them. She was speaking, what was she saying? He tried to catch the end of her statement while maintaining control but it was just so hard.

"... when my mom burned my birthday cake and we were forced to eat somewhere else." Miranda said.

"You're... mom?" Sil asked quietly, his mental voice strained slightly. His emotions began to stabilize, and the field around him began to dissipate. "Please... tell me... about your family..." He didn't try to hide the strain, or just the raw hunger of wanting to know what it was like to be in a family. "Please... my family... died... when I was young. I need to hear about your family." He slowly became more stable. "Please..."
