• Make sure you have read the RPN's rules.
  
• Make sure you have the read all of the OOC threads of this RP (This means the Overview, Battle Arena, Setting/Locations, and the Q&A threads.). If you don't like reading, this might not be the RP for you.
  
• I want quality posts, I don't want four posts in one hour from the same person. Take your time, proofread, and then post. Look up or ask me if you're confused about something. One - three paragraphs means one - three paragraphs at least. No one liners, I'll make you redo your post before allowing you to post again if you do.
  
• Don't ignore anyone. Try to give attention to characters you notice aren't getting any. Keep in mind, this is a group RP.
  
• Bunnying and Metagaming isn't allowed.
  
• I like to brainstorm with everyone for plot ideas, so feel free to give your suggestions and ideas in the OOC thread.
  
• I have the right to remove anyone from the RP, with or without warning.

• Wonderguy's an overly enthusiastic Pokémon Link player. He's obsessed with superheroes - as you probably tell by his Kamen Rider getup - to the point where he pretends to be one. He's always yelling out cheesy catchphrases and jumping into other people's business.
  
  
  Other players usually find him creepy and annoying. It's Wonderguy's dream to be a guardian and help make Pokémon Link a safe place for all, but all his attempts at being one have been rejected thus far. He really does mean well but lacks a proper way to express himself.
  
  
  
• "C'mon, out with it. Gimme all your cash," a shady-looking gengar-player pointing his pistol at a scared clefairy-player.
  
  
  "P.. Please, let me go!" The clefairy-player pleaded as she gripped her purse tightly. She looked like an an aristocrat judging by her appearance. She had flowy pink hair that was tied into a long braid, and wore a dress that matched it.
  
  
  "You aren't going to make this easy for me, are you?" the gengar-player asked, grinning.
  
  
  "Stop right there!" Wonderguy shouted from on top of a tree branch. Both the clefairy and gengar players turned their attention to him, looking kind of stunned. "Ha! You thought you could get away with doing stuff like this in a secluded little park, but guess what, justice never sleeps - justice always has its eye on people like you," Wonderguy jumped from on top of a tree and landed on his feet.
  
  
  "Um, who are you?..." The gengar-player asked, looking genuinely bewildered.
  
  
  "It is I, Wonderguy, the new wonder of the world that will vanquish all evil!"
  
  
  ".... Is this a joke?" The clefairy-player looked around to see if any other players were present.
  
  
  "Don't worry, fair lady. I will save you!" Wonderguy exclaimed approaching both of them. "Step aside as I defeat this foe," the butterfree-player shoved the clefairy-player to the side. "Hey, wait!" She called out from behind but Wonderguy was done listening, instead he struck a dramatic fighting stance.
  
  
  "Okay then, if you insist, let's see what you got," the gengar-player smirked, his gun now facing Wonderguy.
  
  
  "In a matter of moments, you will be sorry!" Wonderguy took out one of his spray bottles from his belt. The gengar-player burst out laughing.
  
  
  ".... Are you serious? That's your weapon?"
  
  
  "System, Stun Spore!" Wonderguy yelled out, ignoring the taunt, and sure enough a bunch of spores released on to his opponent. Lightening effects appeared all over the gengar-player's body. "Hey, what the heck.... I can't move! I'm paralyzed."
  
  
  Wonderguy gave a hearty laughter. "Justice conquers all."
  
  
  "System, Double Slap!" The clefairy-player grabbed Wonderguy from behind and gave him many tight slaps across his face before finally releasing him. "Dude, what the heck is your problem?! You do know this is the roleplay server, right? Ugh. Hold on, Monty, I think I might be able to help you...." The clefairy-player's voice sounded completely different from the damsel-in-distress tone she had earlier. She ran up to the gengar-player for his aid, leaving Wonderguy flat on the ground.

  Riptide's avatar appearance is a busty Lapras gijinka, who appears to be around eighteen. She dresses like she's walked right out of a Wild West movie, and even carries a pair of bedazzled pistols that she fires some of her ranged attacks from.
• Despite outwardly having a prim and proper demeanor, Riptide fancies herself to be a total badass, a siren of a gunslinger. She’s fashioned herself after the lone heroes of spaghetti western movies, wandering from town to town and picking battles with arrogant blowhards.
  
  
  She prefers to use her status moves to win battles – shrouding herself in a dramatic and protective mist, putting her opponents to sleep, and dancing a rain dance to make her Water Pulse more powerful.
  
  
  Recently, Riptide has been accused by a couple other players of being a MissingNo hacker, mostly because of her condescending attitude. Admittedly, she wishes she had linked up with a Milotic instead, and of course she’s not the nicest girl around – but fair is fair! It’s just a game, after all – what would she have to gain from any of this?
  
  
  
• “System, Mist!”
  
  
  A cool, clean mist flowed in suddenly, surrounding the Lapras player in an aura of vapor.
  
  
  “Annnnd… System, Rain Dance!”
  
  
  She spun around a few times on the large boulder she was practicing on, her blue hair spinning around her and the frills on her skirt flaring out. A sudden downpour started in her immediate area, kicking up the mist even further.
  
  
  “Finally – System, Ice Shard!”
  
  
  Unholstering a pair of blue pistols, the girl theatrically fired a pair of ice shards into the sky. They exploded with a sound not entirely unlike thunder, glimmering beautifully as the tiny specks of ice fell to the ground.
  
  
  “Et voila!”
  
  
  Riptide the Lapras struck a dramatic pose. Her audience of one – a young player, a Ratata that looks to be no more than twelve years old, dutifully clapped while standing under a purple umbrella. Riptide blew the frigid mist at the end of end of her pistols, and reholstered them. The mist faded away and the rain stopped, leaving naught but cold mud.
  
  
  “And that’s how you make an entrance at a Pokemon contest!”
  
  
  “But lady, you said you did mostly battles. Why don’t you become a serious coordinator player?”
  
  
  Riptide almost shrugged, before reminding herself that shrugging is not something that delicate lady-like gunslinger heroines did.
  
  
  “I’ve considered it. But I find battling to be more entertaining.”
  
  
  To say nothing of the time she nearly threw her entire computer out the window after she lost seventeen contests in a row…

• Alicia plays her character pretty much how she acts in real life, or rather a complete carbon copy, heck she even named it after herself. Typically she is a kind, excitedable, and a definetely hyperactive girl. She's play Pokèmon Link for a long time, so she inevitably knows quite a bit about the game. She won't heistate to explain things to newer players or make friends, which is typically most of what she does the entire time she's playing.
  
  
  She can be viewed as annoying, or rather very annoying, as the girl seems to know absolutely nothing about personal space. Really, the entire concept seems to elude her, she has no qualms with getting up in your face and asking you fifty questions. She typically speaks what's on her mind the second it pops into her mind, random or not. That said, she has a pretty low attention span. The second she loses interest with something she'll move on to something else.

  Alicia sat in Union hall as she usually did waiting for and helping new members. However, most were slightly offput by the short raichu enthusiatically greeting them as soon as they materialize in the game. Nonetheless that didn't stop Alicia from doing her thing, even if it did cause some people to run away from her. They'd tottally get over it later anyway!
  
  
  Eventually her next victim, target, person she was going to help appeared. A Pikachu player dressed similar to herself except..yellow, to be precise. She quickly ran up to them waving, "Hai! Welcome to the game! I'm Alicia!" She shouted enthusiatically. Of course the players' first reaction was advancing in the other direction. "Awh don't be scared! I just wanna help!" She whined while walking after them.
  
  
  The female Pikachu player, albeit skeptically, stopped and stared at them. "That's more like it!" Alicia cheered, walking up and giving them a hug. Who needed personal space anyway? The Pikachu player immediately moved to shove her off accompanied by "Get off me you weirdo!" Alicia simply giggled and did as asked. Though once released the Pikachu completely ran in the opposite direction, clearly not a fan of Alicia's intrusive helping style.
  
  
  "Jerk.." She mumbled with a sad pout before walking back over to the bench she was on previous and sitting down. And thus, the process was doomed to repeat itself until she got someone that could tolerate her.

  His avatar has a face that settles into a hostile glare, much like the one he has in real life. The face mask obscures his expressions and at times seems to make him sound more sinister than he actually is. Coupled with his dramatic poses meant to evoke the image of a hero, A.U. comes off as an armored scoundrel.​

  
  
  
  
• A.U. is a young man who was drawn to Pokemon Link because of a desire to escape the real world, though his circumstances are far more outlandish than one might expect. This player's naivete and lack of knowledge about the real world seems to imply that he's one of those types that never leave their rooms. And due to certain conditions imposed on his life, these assumptions are well-founded. As a result of this seclusion, A.U. has grown into a shy individual who finds it difficult to confide with others.
  
  
  The Pokemon line he linked with seems to show the growth of an innocent creature into a hardened tyrant. A.U. was someone who idolized the toku superheroes that aired on Sundays and desired to become a person who could benefit society as a whole just like them. While his intentions are good, his lack of communication and tendency to spring into action always cause misunderstandings. Obviously, his rather villainous and hostile avatar does not reflect his wishes. His lonely play-style does, however, seem evocative of the struggles of the first Kamen Rider.

  "..."
  
  
  The young man clad in an armored cloak surveyed the battle that unfolded under his feet. He crouched down on a knee and watched as the assembled players struggled against a boss NPC. A Roselia-linked player dropped their rapier and cried out in agony as the Infernape NPC scorched her with a Flame Wheel charge. Its Close Combat had already taken out the Omanyte player who was likely the leader of the 5-man party. Only three members remained now, and with the way things were going a party-wipe seemed inevitable.
  
  
  I can't just stand here and watch. Maybe... maybe if I can buy some time for them to escape and regroup, maybe I can finally make some friends. I might even get a guild invite... Those hopeful thoughts filled the young man's head as he stood up from his rocky vantage point on the overlooking cliff. Tactically, this was suicide. They had only managed to chip off a third of the boss's health and it was likely that the remaining three members were exhausted.
  
  
  He gulped, both in the game and in real life, as he leapt from the cliff. The fall damage would be minimal as long as he aimed for the trees that surrounded the clearing that served as the battle's arena. He grunted as the screen shook and a few ticks of health were depleted.
  
  
  The party members heard the rustling of branches behind them and immediately recognized the figure who had dropped from the sky. A.U., a notorious solo player and someone who arrived to steal kills. His conduct was incorrigible and many believed that his name stood for "Awful User". They consigned themselves to the their fate, they would survive this day but the hard work was all for naught.
  
  
  A.U. smiled under his mask as the party-members ran for the hills. His plan had worked, but now he needed to focus on surviving. Though, in his experience, the party he saved never ended up returning.
  
  
  "System, Sandstorm." He thrust out a hand from underneath his cloak and waved it around. Soon enough, particles of sand began to violently swirl around the clearing. The boss roared out as the sand buffeted its skin. The artificial being charged A.U. and began to claw at him with Fury Swipes. Close Combat would have easily annihilated him but its uses were all spent while engaging that party. The strikes rang true, but his armor blunted each blow.
  
  
  "System, Stealth Rock." A.U. spoke softly into his mic, as if he was trying to avoid waking up someone else in his residence. He reached into his cloak and threw out jagged rocks this time. They floated in the air before bending light around them and becoming hidden in the swirling mess of particles.
  
  
  A Flame Wheel bowled the hard shelled player over as he carefully took note of the position of his arena traps and the boss's health. Still, this was all according to plan. As a result of his hostile appearance, quiet nature, and awful reputation, A.U. was a player that others avoided. These experience led to the development of a play-style that suited these circumstances.
  
  
  Gradually, he whittled away at the Infernape boss's health by kiting him into Stealth Rocks and spamming Rock Slide to flinch the monstrous entity down whenever possible. Leer and Scary Face were applied to keep the boss de-buffed and easier to handle. With his tank-like nature, even the Mach Punches were survivable.
  
  
  After about fifteen minutes of gradual grinding, the Infernape was finally defeated. The loot was automatically collected and A.U.'s health was in the red. He sighed, once again there was no sign of the party. I hope, at the very least, I made an impression on them. I should have remembered their names though.
  
  
  
  
  
  When he first started out, the young man wanted to incorporate wordplay into his username. Hence, A.U. Phonetically, it sounded like eiyuu which translated to either "hero" or "luminary". That was the reputation he strove to achieve, both as a person and a player. The young man stood in the center of that burnt out and worn clearing exhausted but silently proud, unaware of the hatred that he cultivated from his actions. The hope he carried would bear no fruit this time.

• Bouncer has been around since the beginning of Pokemon Link. A veteran to MMOs long prior to this one, he hasn't had much trouble ranking in the experience, nor the in game currency. Known for creating a Guild, [Gilded Bounty] right in the middle of Union Hall. The Guild Hall itself was fashioned to look like a bar from any number of sources- damn place seems to change it's theme with the seasons it seemed. They catered to not only act as a dive bar, but as a place to help players, new and old, get around in the world with bounties and pointers. Bouncer himself acts as the lead Bartender most nights.
  
  
  As for Bouncer himself, the man is sparce with his words. Him starting a conversation with anyone is a rarity. He likes to see if people have the stones to walk up to the towering figure with the intimidating mug. They pass that little 'test', he'll help them if they need it. Whether it be advice, a bounty, hell, sometimes he'll show them around the area if the traffic is light that day..
  
  
  
• Another quiet day for [Gilded Bounty]. The tide of newbies needing help finally ceased, and the transition from Midday to Evening time IRL meant the more seasoned players would be piling in soon. All was well...Kinda. From the bar itself, Bouncher seemed to have his gaze fixed upon a particularly annoying Psyduck avatar that was practically yelling at the top of its lungs towards anyone within a block radius some way to get in-game currency for actual money. Bouncer's eye twitched before his gaze glided from the annoying character to a crudely made sign hanging near the doorway near the bounty boards.

  Well...He supposed it was time for a show... As he moved from the bar, several other patrons gave snickers and low cheers as he walked toward the Psyduck character, one clawed hand planted on his shoulder as he began rolling and stretching the arm. The spammer in question didn't even register what was coming their way. Pity them.
  
  
  Two claws tapped the spammer's shoulder as the other arm was already glowing, charging up the swing. When the poor fool looked up, their face was met with Bouncer's Fist right between its idiot eyes.

  The patrons cheered as the Psyduck was ejected from the bar, making a hole in the wall that slowly fixed itself, leaving no trace of the spammer. Having Mod Status over this building had its perks....
  
  
  "THAT'S FOURTY-ONE, BOYS!" a Haunter player laughed, causing Bouncer to roll his eyes.
  
  
  "Shows what you know. That's eighty-seven. You're never around when spring break starts." He retorted in his usual, monotonous voice as he walked back to the bar where a few new faces had already arrived, waiting to be served.
  
  
  As always, he waited for them to ask for something first. In the meantime, he would just go back to cleaning a virtual mug.

• "The best offense is a good defense." This not only defines Cerulean's tactics on the battlefield, but her way of life as well. Thoughtful and calculating, she thinks through most of her decisions carefully before acting. She's also more than ready to hold her own if the situation calls for it. Somehow or other, Cerulean managed to gain a reputation among the newer players for her helpful yet hardened nature, and she modeled herself as a knight when becoming a guardian of Pokemon Link to reflect this.
  
  
  In reality, Cerulean is actually quite naive, as she's hardly aware of how influential her "knight character" has become. Her actions are interpreted as chivalrous acts of bravery to others, though she hardly thinks of them as such. She just really likes to help people! Her gullible nature doesn't help with this either, meaning she doesn't really grasp the situation well enough to explain herself. Nevertheless, she takes it mostly in stride and with a positive attitude.
  
  
  
• "Hold it right there!" The girl's cry reverberated throughout the whole plaza, sending everyone into a standstill. The targets of Cerulean's hostility were a group of Houndoom, a small gang that had been known to harass much lower leveled players and extort them of their items. Though their influence was well known throughout this section of the city, she had tried to pay them no mind. However, she would only find herself getting involved with them at the urging of a younger Meowth player crying on the street. She could see the startled looks on the crowd's faces at the situation, though they had simply ignored him afterwards. It wasn't in her to follow their example, however, and Cerulean couldn't help but walk calmly to the young player and offer her assistance. She knelt down to him and spoke in a hushed tone.
  
  
  "Now now, no need to panic!" she urged him. "Err, could you tell me what's the matter?"
  
  
  "M- my friend! They won't leave her alone, they want all her stuff! T- they got her surrounded! I keep asking but- but no one wants to help!!" His words could barely be made out through his sobs. The Empoleon simply kept a warm smile gave him a nod, which seemed to help calm him down.
  
  
  "I see... Well, there's no use standing around here, I guess. If you'd show me where these people are harassing your friend up, I'll be glad to help."
  
  
  Those few words would lead to the current scene, with Houndooms now surrounding the both of them.
  
  
  "Oh yeah, says who?"
  
  
  "Well well, if it ain't that little Meowth from before!"
  
  
  "Decided to call on mommy, huh?"
  
  
  "Thinking you can rescue your Swablu friend, runt?"
  
  
  The Houndoom's taunts followed one right after another, but Cerulean's stance didn't waver. In fact, it only caused her to approach them more seriously.
  
  
  "As a Guardian, I'm afraid I can't tolerate this kind of behavior, especially towards those who can't defend themselves." With each step she took forward, the Houndoom would slowly lose their composure and begin to get on their defensive. "If you know what's best for you, you'll leave. Now." The trident she had in hand would now be pointed towards the thugs, enough to send some of them even running.
  
  
  "... Eh, forget it! This little runt isn't worth it anyways, let's scram!" With what little dignity they had left, the rest of the Houndoom pack scrambled out of the plaza, and business in the plaza resumed. Cerulean would find herself immediately being pounced upon by the two younger players she had just rescued, and had to urge them to calm down to give her room to breathe.
  
  
  "Wow lady, that was so cool!! You got to teach me how to scare bad guys like that too!" the Meowth piped in. He was followed by the Swablu player, a girl about his age.
  
  
  "Are you a knight, miss? It felt like I was the princess being rescued, like in a story!" she said.
  
  
  "Ah, well, I wouldn't say that...!" she found herself blushing and scratching her head in embarrassment. Dealing with villains was one thing in itself, but Cerulean always found herself having more trouble dealing with the praise afterwards. It was just in her nature to help people, after all. It's what anyone would do, right? Still, it did make her happy to be seen in such a way. A knight, huh... "But if you ever find yourself in trouble again," she continued, "I suppose you can rely on me once more."
  
  
  She couldn't think of herself as such a hero yet, but for now, this would do.

• Robin's joined more than a few parties in his time playing, but usually ends up leaving the one he's currently in when the excitement dies down. He claims that he would rather become strong on his own, yet he's hardly ever not in a party or group of some kind. He doesn't have much of an indoor voice, and can come off as obnoxious.
  
  
  The player behind Robin developed him into a thief character, figuratively however, as you can't steal in the game, because of his decently high attack and speed. His defense is overall low, and he isn't good with attacks that aren't physical. The player first started playing Pokemon Link primarily out of boredom, but became more invested in it, genuinely having fun in the game.
  
  
  
• The chatter of a group of four players were one of the only noises audible in the area. The party searched through the planes covered in tall grass, where wild unlinked Pokemon were supposed to spawn. The group was led by a male Arbok-linked player, whose hands were placed in his pockets. Following behind him were Robin, a female Marill-linked player, and a female Carbink-linked player. Robin's arms were crossed, but he lifted one up for a few seconds as he yawned. The Marill player glared at nothing in particular, while the Carbink player followed silently behind them.
  
  
  The party stopped as the grass they were standing in rustled. Before they could react, five Pokemon jumped out of the grass and landed right in front of them. They stood on guard, ready to attack the party. All five of them were Spearows, but they were several levels below the four players.
  
  
  Spearows started to fly at the party, cutting through the air. The Marill player and Robin dodged the ones headed for them, then Marill called out for a Bubble Beam, shooting bubbles at the one Spearow like bullets. The Carbink player braced herself as a Spearow hit her, though it wasn't very affective. She used Rock Tomb on one of the Pokemon that hadn't moved yet; a chunk of the earth rose and landed on it, taking out most of its HP.
  
  
  "System, Pursuit!" Robin yelled, aiming for the Spearow the Carbink player hit. The sound altered it, but as it turned to look over at him, in the blink of an eye, he ran up to it and jabbed it, knocking it out. It disappeared, and he looked at the Carbink player with a smirk. She briefly waved at him while glancing around. A loud soaring sound above her grabbed her attention. She pointed up at it, and following where she was pointing, Robin was greeted with a Spearow diving down right at him. It didn't miss him; he was pushed to the ground as it dove down beak first.
  
  
  He stood up and grimaced, he had lost a lot of HP from that attack. He put some distance between himself and the battle, and then examined what the current situation was. There were only two Pokemon left, no, one as the Arbok player knocked out another with Acid. The other players looked like they were in okay condition, but the Marill player looked a bit low on health too. He watched her charge at the remaining Spearow and then Tackle it, hearing its cry before it faded out of the ending battle.
  
  
  The Horde Encounter of Spearows had been defeated. Everyone was quiet while they checked to see if they needed to heal or if they had the items for it. After a long silence, Robin spoke up. "Looks like I've gotta avoid birds next time, huh?" He commented, followed by short laughter. The Carbink player barely suppressed a chuckle, the avatar of the Arbok player smiled, while the Marill player sighed. "What are we gonna do next?" She asked, which began a discussion amongst the group.

  Fiona was a beta-tester for the game. She no lifed Pokemon Link trying to learn as much as she could before it went live and she'd have to restart from the beginning. With that knowledge she managed to help several new comers get a head start before she kicked them to the curb to fly solo. She wasn't a fan of making a guild or joining one for that matter. Since reaching level 50 she has slowed her grind down. She has started joining adventuring parties, but has found more pleasure in other areas.
  
  
  She started breaking up "guilds" that would break the rules. Stealing from other players and extorting newer players out of their in game currency. She finds people that take advantage of their level over new players in secret should be punished the same as anyone that does it in the open. Given moderator status for her investigations and busts, she has broken up a total of six official guilds. Often times when she appears in a guild or hanging around the head of a guild, a rumor spreads about the guild flirting with death.
  
  
  This rumor is based off of two things. The first being that she has closed down six official guilds and countless unofficial guilds. The second is more a part of Fiona's personality flaw. She's a completely terrible flirt and seductress. Her avatar looks good and she has no problems showing it off. This tends to lower both men and women's guards when it comes to talking about their underhanded activities. I mean how could such a pretty girl be a moderator?

  The guild hall fell into silence the minute she walked in with her arm around the head of the guild's. All eyes were focused on the two. Several of the people she recognized from former guilds. They looked at her with disdain, but knew if they said anything that she'd end their accounts right then and their. The power of a moderator was one to be feared. The second group, those that didn't know her, gawked as she displayed herself as the clingy girlfriend.
  
  
  "This is the guild hall for Shadow Flames." The sharpedo gijinka that she was currently attached to said with a bit of pride. Terrible name. So cheesy. Fiona's thoughts were pretty spiteful, but she just smiled and pressed her chest against him harder. She was following a lead from some level twelves that had had their gear stolen while they were recovering out training in Viridian Forest. She followed the clues back to these guys.
  
  
  "It's just amazing babe." She wrapped her arm around his shoulders with a playful smile and light kiss on the cheek. "It's EXACTLY as you described it. And how many members are in this guild?" Fiona continued to lean against the male who seemed a bit preoccupied.
  
  
  "About four hundred." He gulped as his eyes left her face. Ingrate, but if it gets you talking. Fiona gently caressed the male's cheek while still smiling at him. She batted her lashes at him a bit before she asked her next question.
  
  
  "Raks, is there somewhere more private we can speak? I don't like all your little boys listening in on an ADULT conversation." Though there were limits on what could be done in Pokemon Link, meeting up outside wasn't forbidden, so these kinds of things could happen on occasion. She followed as the completely stunned male led her away into another room. As she looked around she caught sight of what she was looking for. It was three bags containing the EXACT items described by the three victims. She had what she needed now she just had to end his account.
  
  
  "So, this is my office." The sharpedo took a seat as he noticed Fiona picking up the bags. "What are you doing sweet cheeks? That's our property."
  
  
  "No it's not." Fiona stopped playing sweet as she pulled out her crossbow. "I know for a fact that all three of these bags belong to level twelve members who were robbed about ten hours ago. And honestly, you have A LOT of stuff that's against the rules." Her lips curled into a smile as she considered how to blow the wall off the place before she reported the stealing to the admins. "So sorry to say it Raks, your sorry excuse for a guild will be coming to a close. And the only way I'm not going to end your account is if you tell me the names of those you had steal the gear. Or those that stole the gear without your knowledge." Fiona loved this part. She held all the cards and was the one in power.
  
  
  "You know, you really shouldn't have shown your hand so early Ms. Fiona." The sharpedo spoke smugly as the door opened and a few of the goons that she recognized came in. They were armed and ready to fight, but there were two things stopping them. She already had each of them on one act of stealing. The reason they weren't banned before was because she didn't report it in exchange for their information on the corrupted "guild". The second thing was that she'd already beaten them all in a fight before. Her moveset and ability really gave her an edge that she enjoyed in combat. And although she wasn't an all out fighter with six damage moves, she was ready to stop a lot of problems.
  
  
  "System, Air Slash" She pulled the trigger on her crossbow. The gust of air tore apart the wall and took the head of the guild with it. "You three behave and you won't go down with him." She nodded to the three people that seemed to breathe a sigh of relief. She approached the man and set the crossbow to his head. "System, knocking in an arrow, prepare another Air Slash." She heard the porygon AI confirm that it was loaded. Now all she had to do was pull the trigger. "Alright now handsome, names or do you go down solo? Your guild is gone either way."
  
  
  "I'll just get another copy. So do it." The guild leader said through pursed lips. Fiona pulled the trigger and watched as his avatar was warped off to a pokecenter. At that very moment she got a message from her boss admin.
  
  
  "What's up?" She answered the phone. She listened to him gripe about blowing open a wall in a building, but didn't mind. "Come on, I got the guy, the gear and I'm sending you the evidence to shut down the guild. I did my job." Another slew of angry banter. "Can you take a second to breathe hun. You know I hate it when you get all steamed." Her voice suddenly became soft, sweet and seductive. "How about when I wrap this case up we just go over to the pokepark, have some dinner, I'll rub your shoulders and you can figure out how to keep me from getting in trouble?" Hearing the sigh from her boss Fiona smirked. She knew he couldn't resist her, he was just another mindless guy moved around by beauty.

• Not every "hacker" is a bad person; some, like the player behind AviTudios, have completely legitimate reasons for having modified game files. For some, it's the challenge, for some it's usability, for some it's shader replacement, or maybe macros on a mouse. The line between legit player and evil hacker is a fuzzy one. AviTudios' player believes that s/he's on the good side of the fence in this case; s/he certainly hasn't stolen anyone else's accounts, nor has s/he obtained an illegal Pokemon as her/his own link. But s/he has modified his game files, and some of those changes might just be giving her/him an advantage over other players.
  
  
  AviTudios was only able to get into Pokemon Link in the past couple weeks, putting her right in the middle of the leveling pack, even though she has been no-lifing the game since getting in. AviTudios is controlled by a serious player, who intent on reaching the endgame and becoming one of the best DPS in the game. She is built around standing in the back and playing off of a good support player, though those are few and far between, apparently. AviTudios is critical of others, but never tries to let them notice, opting to give advice or simply leave rather than lambasting awful players. AviTudios isn't actively mean, but she does have little time for messing around.
  
  
  
• "Use. Sleep. Powder. Please." AviTudios dodged to the side, desperately dashing through a crowd of trash mobs as she tried to lose the aggro from the world boss. Their tank had already blacked out and revived at some Pokemon Center far away, and their melee DPS had immediately left the party and run off scared. Now it was just herself and a worthless Venonat who apparently thought that he was supposed to be DPSing with Leech Life rather than providing the support that they had brought him along for.
  
  
  "System, Leech Life!" she heard him exclaim in that annoying "I've watched too many Pokemon episodes!" kind of voice. System dutifully put another seed of some sort in the character's slingshot, and he hurled it at the wild Machoke.
  
  
  "It's not very effective!" System informed them. "ImTheBestVenonatEver restored some HP!"
  
  
  You don't say.
  
  
  As she continued running in tight circles, hoping to throw off the enemy and really wishing that she hadn't forgotten Double Team for that stupid TM, Avi silently queued up her next move, causing her white skull-like helmet to glow a slight pink around the teeth. Hopefully, hopefully she had put enough speed into her stats for this fight, because if that Machoke got off the first shot, or if she missed, this was going to be the end.
  
  
  As the Machoke came down for another shot at her, Avi suddenly veered around and slammed her helmet against the foe. Her teeth pressed hard against the Machoke's lips, and he paused in his attack, caught off guard by the sudden kiss.
  
  
  "It's super effective!" System crowed, and the Machoke teetered for a moment. "AviTudios restored some HP!"
  
  
  "ImTheBestVenonatEver's team defeated Machoke!" Avi finally relaxed as the Machoke fell backwards, leaving her there standing on her tiptoes. She rocked back onto her heels, wiping her mouth on one of her large sleeves, and let out a long sigh. At least the stupid low-HP beep had stopped from the HP drain.
  
  
  "Eat it, you big ugly grey man! No one can beat me; I'm the best Venonat ever!" The purple fuzzball gijinka ran over to gloat on top of the corpse and check the loot, starting the roll for the cosmetic that Avi had been hoping for this whole time.
  
  
  "Oh, sweet! Uh, System, roll Want." Avi cracked her knuckles as she started to pop open chat windows to see what she had missed during the fight.
  
  
  "System, roll Need!"
  
  
  "ImTheBestVenonatEver won Awesome Cosmetic Item with a roll of Need(1). Other rolls: DeadTank Want(13) AviTudios Want(20)."
  
  
  "EAT IT, YOU BIG UGLY WHITE WOMAN!" ImTheBestVenonatEver began spamming some sort of dance.
  
  
  "You just rolled Need on a cosmetic," Avi muttered, pushing some chat windows out of the way to stare at her "support."
  
  
  "ImTheBestVenonatEver cannot receive your message. Reason: blocked."
  
  
  Avi stood still for a few minutes, until she was signalled as AFK. Half an hour later, she suddenly woke up, muttered something full of hate and resignation under her breath, and opened up region chat.

• Risa's player came to Pokemon Link under the influence of a bunch of friends from another MMORPG. That one was your classic fantasy game, with magic and what not, and the group had played it for many years, with Risa's player being the leader of their guild. Eventually, their beloved game met the fatal end and was shut down. That was when Risa and co. switched to Pokemon Link to seek their fortune in another virtual world. As much as it did not seem like Risa's ideal game at first, she ended up enjoying it the most and sticking to it, while her friends were slowly losing interest and moving on. Before long, she was the only one out of her group who was still active. Her usual group has, more or less, fallen apart.
  
  
  While Risa hasn't involved herself with the community yet, she hopes to join or create a guild and contribute to it as a mentor to new players, just like she used to in her past game. She's that kind of a calm and calculating person, who usually minds her own business, but doesn't mind helping out if it can help her gain something (such as potential team mates). The Meowstic gijinka hasn't progressed that much in Pokemon Link due to being busy with work, but she's a dedicated player, aiming to be a powerful Special Attacker. She has a bit of a sarcastic sense of humor and lots of confidence in her abilities. She keeps her profession secret from fellow players (seeing how many mmo players are teenagers, she gets weird looks when she reveals that she's a history teacher in real life). As expected of a real life teacher and an ex-guild leader, she happily accepts her role as a motherly figure to those who befriend her.
  
  
  
• The sun over the fields was starting to set. The surroundings were quiet and seemingly peaceful. Nothing seemed to imply that just a few minutes earlier a battle to virtual death took place right there on the meadow. Maybe apart from the two adventurers sat on the grass, resting against a tree. Both were low on HP and panting heavily. One of them was a boy in an orange Chimchar outfit and a grotesque-looking flame tail. He was smiling proudly, as he looked as his companion, Risa the female Meowstic.
  
  
  "We sure showed him!" the boy, known as MuffinWarrior, commented joyfully. "You saved my butt back there!"
  
  
  Hearing that statement, Risa the Meowstic player thought back to the battle with the field boss. It was around her level, but higher than MuffinWarrior's. Under these circumstances, attacking it with just two people seemed like a bit of a bold idea. Not to mention attacking it completely alone, which is exactly what this newbie had done. Of course, he stood no chance and the field boss was just about to defeat the boy, when Risa, who had been farming nearby, heard his pained cries. Although the Meowstic player had been busy with her own stuff, it was personal between her and that Venusaur. She had sworn revenge on it after being wiped mercilessly 20 levels ago on one of her exploring adventures with her old group of friends. Even though they were gone, Risa was still looking forward to defeating that boss, and this seemed like the perfect chance. At the very least she could try. And she managed. She protected the MuffinWarrior with Light Screen and sent some Psybeams at the enemy, while taking some heavy hits herself and having to consume quite a bunch of potions to survive (she couldn't just die in front of a newbie, after all). In the end they were successful and Risa could be proud of her power.
  
  
  "Butt saving is something I tend to do," Risa admitted with a smirk. "But I'd suggest being more careful next time. Dying is not very pleasant."
  
  
  "I'll watch out now! Thanks a lot, lady!" MuffinWarrior chuckled, scratching the back of his head. "I got that drop I needed, so I'll log off here. I gotta start studying, finals are coming up... Mind if I add you?"
  
  
  "Yeah, sure. Send me a message if you're in need, I'll help if I'm not busy," Risa answered with a shrug, although she doubted the Chimchar boy would be sticking around for along. Newbies rarely do, especially students. Despite that, Risa accepted a friend request from MuffinWarrior, before he logged off. Just in case.
  
  
  The Meowstic gijinka headed back to the forest, where she had been farming. This small distraction was pretty interesting. At least she got her revenge. And another "friend" who would probably end up being consumed by his real life duties in a few days.
  
  
  On that note, I should start preparing those tests, she thought and gave a sigh to herself, before grabbing her staff and finding a bunch of Shroomish to farm.

• Reality has never been Fairytale's strong suit. Well, she never had a reality to begin with so that would probably be an understatement. Thanks to her lack of 'life' skills, as it were, she has a hard time pinpointing what attitude to take towards people. Although, she never really needed any until joining Pokemon Link. It was already bad enough that she bought the game without approval, but now having to actually communicate with other people was a whole new level of bad. What was she to do? What was she to say? She bought this game on a whim and now that she had it, she wasn't just going to waste it. It was her money after all. Or, the money her parents gave her not to spend on idiotic stuff because they trusted her . . . Regardless of how she worded it, the end result never sounded good.
  
  
  Fairytale had bought the game fairly early, being a big fan of the pokemon plushies and all. She never played an actual handheld device nor any of the games, so as far as mechanics went, she had no clue. Nothing tried nothing gained, right? Her first attempts at the game were horrible. She was cheated out items she found, lost miserably in battles, didn't even know how to attack nor what her moves were. In short, she failed at life and in gaming. However, she bought the game, she sure as hell was going to figure it out. Apologies for her vulgar language. She played the game a few more minutes, the same things happening to her as before. She stopped for awhile.
  
  
  Resuming the game the next day, this time she knew to reject those asking for trades and to research items for their value. Today turned into tomorrow and she was steadily reading up on her pokemon's, Spiritomb, attack. Next day, she didn't play. There was only so much in-gaming could do for a person, so she decided reading the manual to be the next step in mastering this device. Soon days became weeks, and she found herself improving gradually as she continued to study up on this whole 'Pokemon' franchise. Now a few months in and she has become quite the adequate/binge player, although her communication skills still needed a major fine tuning.
  
  
  
• Was sweating in a game normal? She was glad technology was evolving at such a tremendous rate. Amazed at how the developers strived for such realistic effects. Really, she appreciated the realism. However, realism had to draw the line somewhere, right?
  
  
  Fairytale cried, or attempted to. The sweat drained from her ghostly body, the green beads circling her seemingly sweating along with her as the drops fell from her arms onto them. Why was it so hot? She didn't understand. Normally, when she walked around the wilderness there was a satisfying cool breeze that followed her like a puppy, blowing fresh air onto her after a long day of battling. Where had that been now? Did she do something to anger the administrators? If so, send an email her way and she would be sure to fix it. Now would've been great. She sighed, the sun seemingly laughing at her struggle to find shelter from it's rays. As she searched for a suitable tree, she took note of a faint trail of smoke coming from beneath her. What? Emerald eyes glanced down to see the path steaming beneath her feet. It took awhile at first, but as she took her next step she felt the sting of the burning stove she'd been walking on.
  
  
  " . . . HOT!" she hollered, jumping up and down to avoid further destruction to her feet. The ground was burning! The ground was literally burning. Hot, tired, and some what angry she ran towards the nearest tree she could find and plopped herself on the ground, the grass becoming a nice alternative to the ground she had been cooking , cooked, on. Fanning herself, she thought that this had surely been the reason as to why her parents didn't allow her out. It made sense now that she took the time to think about it. If outside had been like this back in the real world, she would have voluntarily stayed in her room.
  
  
  Another sigh escaped her lips as she lied down on her back, gazing up at the leaves above her. Sweltering heat aside, she had done it. It had took her days to do it, but she had done it. Fairytale had spent her days in search of the fabled Audino that lurked in shaking grass. Being an amateur to 'Pokemon' she had never even knew of the hearing pokemon's existence until she 'accidentally' overheard a group discussing the best way to gain experience. Somewhat interested, but not at all snooping or prying into their conversation, she strategically sat next to the table 'watching' the nurse Joy's Chansey. The group spoke fondly of the creature and explained vaguely, the importance of hunting one down.
  
  
  It was cute one said. Fluffy, said another. She had to wonder what all the fuss was about if the pokemon had been just 'cute' and 'fluffy'. Couldn't you say the same thing for a Mareep? It wasn't until a masculine voice stated that it gave extra experience that she became more involved with the group's conversation. Unintentionally of course. He told them in great detail of why many people search for this pokemon and the advantages it brought to the one's who defeated it. Clapping to herself, she decided to take a trip to the Wilderness and there her search for the shaking grass began.
  
  
  It was hell. The grass shook, check. Audino . . . nope. The grass shook again, check. Audino, still nope. Every time the grass shook, she'd find all but what she wanted to. A Parasect had been in one. A dreaded Swirlix in the other. That Swrilix. The thought killed her to remember her worst nightmare in the form of a delicious ball of cotton candy, hitting her with a repeated 'Draining Kiss'. Oh it was awful. Swiping away the horrid thought, she fast forwarded to today's earlier events. She was walking, it had been a moderate temperature, the sun not yet at its peak. Fairytale groaned due to the unnecessary amount of stress she was beginning to feel looking for this mystical creature. And there, in that shaking grass, was an Audino. A god did exist. As soon as she laid eyes on it, they battled. A well fought matched between the both of them, but only one could come out as the victor.
  
  
  Now, here she was. Dying in a pool of her own sweat. No matter, this sweat had been the sweat of a winner. This face oozing steam was that of a winner. She was a winner. Somewhat satisfied with her little victory, she rose back up in what would soon be seen as one of the worst decisions of her life. Or more so that day. Lifting her dehydrated body, she saw it. Him. She turned her head, but it was to late, eye contact had already been made. The music rang loudly in her ears as she was forced to get up back on her feet. It was an NPC, a cute little boy dressed up in pink. A Chansey, maybe? Please. No. It was . . . an Aromatisse.
  
  
  Fairytale had nothing against fairy type pokemon. Like every other girl she found them cute, but when you're a pokemon whose biggest weakness are fairy types, then they became deadly. Muttering to herself, she scratched her her head, her opponents readying his attack. Taking a step forward, a slight grin ran across her lips as she mumbled something.

• Luna would be willing to admit the appearance her Absol form took was more than surprising. That said, she did adjust to it fairly quickly, even choosing to play using personality traits that tied in with the almost ghostly appearance. She can be cold and distanced, particularly in a fight. But that doesn't stop her player's personality from slipping through on occasion.
  
  
  In all honesty a Pokemon MMO was something that was bound to happen. Even someone who hadn't really even played the series would acknowledge how well it would work, Luna being one of them. Sure, Luna had seen plenty about Pokemon, it's kind of a hard thing to avoid in all honesty. Out of all the games, she'd only played a little of the original Red, some of X, Stadium, and even the spin off Pokemon Pinball. (Because pinball) So Luna may not be the most knowledgeable player out there, and certainly don't expect her to have any idea what you're talking about if IVs are brought up, but that hasn't stopped her from enjoying Link.
  
  
  
• A chilling mist crept over Eterna Forest, capturing the otherworldly glow from the shafts of moonlight breaking through the thick canopy. Luna made her way down the forest path, eyes open for any signs of a berry bush.

  What kind of berries did the quest need again? The Absol stopped in her tracks, an annoyed sigh escaping from her lips. "System, journal, current objective." A blue screen appeared before her, showing who she'd taken the quest from and its objectives. "So I need five Razz Berries . . . why do they have do be from this place and not anywhere else?" The forests of any region were rather infamous for being natural mazes. Eterna was no exception.
  
  
  "System, quick attack!"
  
  
  Luna wasn't given much of a chance to react as the Rattata lunged through her screen and slammed into her. A low growl escaped the Absol as the battle HUD appeared in her view. Looks like she'd have finish this fight before getting on with her night. "Tch," her crimson hues narrowed at her challenger, "system, detect." Just as the command left her, Rattata lunged with another quick attack. With help from detect, Luna appeared to glide out of the way. The moon's icy light only adding to her near ethereal appearance.
  
  
  Her frown remained as she called up her next move, "System, shadow ball." An orb formed from smouldering dark energy appeared above her hand before she launched it at the Pokemon across from her. The attack hit dead on, even though it didn't cause him to flinch.
  
  
  It seemed the difference in levels between the two of them became apparent from the damage her last strike had done. Instead of trying another attack, the Rattata instead attempted to flee the battle.
  
  
  Luna snorted in disgust, "System, pursuit." He initiated the battle, did he really think she would just let him walk away after that? Wolves made from the same darkness as shadow ball appearance around her before chasing their mark down and attacking.
  
  
  A bright flash. The battle was over with Luna being the victor. Shaking her head, she turned and continued her hunt for berries. It seemed luck was on her side as a bush was nearby from where the fight took place. A small smile crossed her lips as she leaned in to claim her prize.
  
  
  "The hell?" She blinked in confusion at the single berry in her hand, the bush now empty. "There were like twenty berries on that thing, what do you mean I only get one!?"
  
  
  It seemed her cold and distanced facade wasn't a perfect one.
