Kirijo Group Private Helicopter
Somewhere off the East Coast of Japan...

The sea passed by below as calm as can be, its dark blue hues contrasting with the tan of the helicopter that flew over it. Seagulls passed by the flying machine as it drew nearer and nearer to its destination: but the inside of the helicopter was surprisingly quiet...
One woman sat at the pilots seat at the helicopter, her tidy purple hair tied back in one long ponytail. Her bright red eyes scanned the instruments of the helicopters dashboard, but beyond that, she was focused completely on keeping their course straight. She wore what seemed to be a maids outfit, albeit without any sort of dress: just some dress clothes and an apron on her front, the small frilly white crown all maids traditionally wear resting upon her head, though it was perhaps outshines by the massive headset she wore.
Kikuno adjusted the headset once more before sighing to herself, and glanced back towards the cargo compartment of the helicopter. The cargo compartment contained all the Agents that were being deployed on this mission: while the helicopter supplied plenty of seats and space for them, Kikuno had to wonder just why Lady Kirijo decided this many people was neccesary. The mistress knew what she was doing, but it was a little unnerving having all these people in once place and not having them talk: though they were technically a team, this might be the first time out on a mission as a group for some of them...
However, Kikunos thoughts were interrupted by a message playing through her headset. She held a free hand up to one side of it to help her listen in and nodded. "Understood. Patching you through." She said into the mic, then began to hit several buttons on the dash. "Lady Kirijo is hailing you. Please give her your full attention." Kikuno said into her mic. Each Agent in the helicopter was given an earpiece they could use for communication between each other, Kikuno, and Kirijo HQ: hopefully they had actually put it on before they had departed. After a few seconds, a low yet powerful and commanding voice struck through the channel, filling the ears of all the Agents who had bothered to put their earpiece in. "Good afternoon, Agents. I know we called you all together rather abruptly, and we didn't have much time to fully go over the debriefing. If any of you have any questions as to your objective or the area you are being brought you, you may ask them now."
This was the voice of Mitsuru Kirijo, the current head of the Kirijo Group. What was once an almost mobster like family had now turned to a source of good, due mostly to the takeover of Mitsuru when her father passed rather abruptly in her teenage years. She now works tirelessly to bring back the glory the Group once held: and she is most certainly not a woman to be trifled with. She was not know as the Queen of Executions for nothing, after all.

(sidebar is still a draft)

Listening to the loud, but uniform noise of the helicopter, Emi found keeping herself calm and focused on the present was not as hard as she had worried when the other agents present here and she herself had first received their mission. She had indeed been taken by surprise that a rather average persona user like her (no matter how little she would like to admit that to anyone) had been chosen to go on what didn't exactly scream "routine mission", but now that they were actually on the way, the second youngest member of the team didn't feel like things were much different from the smaller tasks she had been assigned to before.
Well, aside from flying in a helicopter and being a bit fuzzy on the details, but the first was a pretty exciting new experience and as for the latter - it wasn't like she didn't have any idea about what they were headed into at all, so it really shouldn't be a problem, right?

The one thing still bothering Emi at the moment was that even she, taking pride in her abilities of brightening the mood, couldn't think of a way to strike up a light-hearted conversation. The faces of the other agents were unreadable for her, and besides from knowing them superficially from the briefing (and possibly having seen them every now and then in the Kirijo building before that, though she couldn't remember right now), she was not acquainted with them. Without anything to go on, there wasn't much for her to speak about except for common small talk topics, which rarely did anything to improve the atmosphere.
So all she could do for the moment was to keep up her usual optimistic, agreeable smile, hoping it to prove somewhat infectious to the other people in the compartment.

Mitsuru Kirijo's announcement provided a new focus for the young woman.
To be honest, Emi couldn't really imagine anything important enough to warrant a question. From what she remembered, the outline of the plan had been pretty straightforward.
After a few moments, however, she remembered something that had popped up in the more curiosity-driven parts of her brain. Seeing as no one had yet asked about anything more relevant, she decided to go ahead with it.

"I was actually wondering about something. The facility - is it still the same after reappearing?" she spoke out, breaking the silence, then clarified, "I mean, is the layout of the building still the same, or was something changed after the incident?"

Lee simply sat in his seat, his headphones plugged in to block the sound of the helicopter's blades singing high above them. His eyes were closed as the music played in them, the soft tones of rock music blaring. He had actually not put the earpiece on like he was instructed to do so, finding the earpiece quite uncomfortable. His mind soon wandered to the client of the mission, the Kirijo Group. While seemingly routine for Lee (S.A.S.W. being his specialty of course), his work with the Kirijo group was less than ideal. He had a few enemies, yes he did, within the group. Most of them were academic rivals rather than real enemies. He had nothing against the people he worked with, but some of them could be a bit snobbish, being scientists and all. Taking his headphones off, Lee put in the earpiece just in time to hear Mitsuru speak.

Opening his eyes, Lee took in the rest of his team. His eyes fell on the girl across from him, Emi Tachibana. Picking up his Evoker, he pointed it at the girl across from him and playful 'shot' her. "I don't think you understand Tachibana-san." Lee spoke before Mitsuru could respond, his voice gentle and calm in the seemingly tense atmosphere. "The facility while reappearing a bit of time ago, has never been explored past before the disappearance. We're the vanguard in a sense. We're the first ones in a while to even step foot inside. All our information could be completely useless and obsolete. We're really going in blind sweetheart." Closing his eyes once more, he rested his Evoker on his thigh as he hummed to himself.

"Ah... Miss Kirijo, is there a reason why I specifically was sent on this mission?" Lee asked, his voice communicated through the headpiece. "After all, you of all people should know my more...disturbing tendencies."

Emi couldn't help but flinch when the older Korean fired his Evoker at her, not expecting such a gesture in the least. What the...!
Her eyes, widened in surprise, soon narrowed in flustered anger when Lee Wang-ho started speaking, though. Although his tone sounded friendly enough, combined with his words she couldn't interpret it in any way but condescending. Not knowing whether to allow her mouth to gape open in disbelief or grit her teeth in frustration, the young woman searched for words more articulate than "Grrrr!", resulting in a rather incoherent first reply.

"I-I was just thinking maybe- I didn't mean to say- and also..." Feeling her face starting to burn, a sure sign a blush was starting to form, Emi realized she had no way to make her point valid anymore, so it was better to stop now before she went from making a fool of herself to making an utter fool of herself.
Clenching one hand into a fist, she forced herself to take a deep breath, then forced her face back into a smile, albeit it still looked a bit frozen.
"Thank you for clearing that up, then," she addressed the man across from her again in the most agreeable voice she could manage - which, to her credit, at least fulfilled the requirements of general politeness.

Even after that exchange, she could feel her heart beating faster and noticed that her face made no effort to stop being flushed. How embarrassing to start bickering over her own mistake in front of the whole team and her employer on top of that! And even if she had made a blunder with that question, what was the issue of the other agent calling her out on it? If that is his idea of fun, then this trip is going to be hard, Emi concluded resentfully, allowing herself to sulk for a moment.

While waiting for a reply from Mitsuru Kirijo (though she wasn't looking forward to it too much, if what Lee Wang-ho had said was correct), she used the time to rearrange her ponytail in a way that some of her deep copper hair covered the tips of her ears, which had turned slightly red as well.

"That's enough, Lee." came the sharp, irritated voice of Mitsuru through the earpiece. "This mission is too important to be picky about who goes on it. We need every able hand we have to retrieve the objective. So play nice, or you will face the consequences later." She finished with an ominous tone. She let that hang for a moment before sighing. "But he is right, Tachibana-san. Due to the extreme nature of the island, we have next to no idea how things will be. From the glimpses we have seen, the facility that was housing the objective has crumbled to ruin. It's mostly jungle now, but if our theories are correct, the objective should still be somewhere in the facility. Don't worry about the rest of the island: just find the facility, retrieve the objective, and return to Kikuno as soon as possible. We don't know exactly when the island might dissapear again: and remember, this mission is volunteers only. If any of you still have doubts about your safety, please remain with Kikuno on the helicopter until the others return."

Her tone was rather grim, and for good reason: the island disappearing again was a very possible thing that might happen. Mitsuru was very apprehensive with sending anyone at all: but what was hidden there was simply far too valuable to just let it be lost. At this point, Kikuno spoke up through her own headset. "I will be waiting here a few miles away from the island, just in case something happens to it. Once the objective has been recovered, radio in to me and I will come pick you up. However, once our time limit has been reached, you will need to return to our pick up zone, as any further exploration could result in all of us becoming lost with the island. So please don't be late, okay?" She finished with a giggle, though it leaned more on the side of sadistic...

Almost sighing in relief that she wasn't being scolded again for asking what had apparently been a silly question, Emi reflexively nodded at Mitsuru Kirijo's reply. Then, realizing she couldn't be seen on the other end of the line, she replied, "I understand. Thank you for the explanation." Now that she no longer felt she was being put on the defensive, her usual confident, optimistic tone came to her more easily.

Breathing deeply once more, the young woman managed to calm down again enough to put her thoughts in order.
While still feeling fairly agitated towards Lee Wong-hu, she could make a conjecture that he simply had a strange sense of humour that involved pretending to shoot people, and that this had put her on edge and interpret his words more negatively than they had been meant.
Right. Benefit of the doubt, don't dwell on the negatives, Emi told herself, her smile straightening out again as she started feeling her prior calmness to some extent. It would take a good deal of work to maintain this mindset, but as long as she didn't think of how hard it could get, she could keep going at it, as always.

Lee stuck his tongue out at Emi, and pointed his Evoker at his own head. Faux shooting himself, Lee smiled in a means of forgiveness, before replacing his Evoker in it's holster on his right arm. His eyes then lot focus as he stared at the ceiling of the helicopter. He thought back to the facility they were going to infiltrate. The facility itself, not some place he had even been to, but he had heard stories of it. The group of people that went to the facility were top of the line when it came to Suppression Anti-Shadow Weapons. A weapon like that, it could change how the battles in the Dark Hour were fought. The mission was priority, and no one was going to stand in his way.

"Ah..." Lee sighed as he cracked his knuckles. "One last thing Miss Kirijo. This S.A.S.W. we are being sent to retrieve, do we know its armament? Do we know its personality, its way of thinking? All of these things should be considered." Eyeing the island from his seat, Lee could only think back to the number of S.A.S.W. the Kirijo Group had. Each was unique in there own right. Knowing what they would be dealing with could be useful.

The radio went silent for a few moments before a displeased hum rang out over the comms. "We know next to nothing about it: this entire operation was completely held under the discretion of the Kirijo higher ups at the time. It is experimental in nature, so that could mean any number of things. What we could decipher from the mass of jumbled documents was that they were trying to make it seem more 'human' in appearance...and that they were experimenting with Plumes of Dusk. To what end, we aren't sure, but we think it may have something to do with same experiments that were being done on Labrys. Exercise extreme caution if you believe you have identified it."
Her advice on the matter was fairly standard, but what else could she say?

"ETA to destination: ten minutes. Ready yourself up, Agents." Kikuno said through her headset, and pressed a button on the dashboard. In the cargo area, the walls of the helicopter flipped themselves over in certain places, revealing melee weapons of all kinds, from basic brass knuckles all the way old style flails. The wall nearest Kikuno flipped to reveal a layer of ranged weaponry: most of it was firearms, but there was even a selection medieval weapons, such as a crossbow, bows and yumis, and even a slingshot. "While we don't know if it'll be dangerous down there, it can't hurt to be prepared." Said Kikuno with a smile that could practically be felt through the headset.

Seeing Lee repeat his previous act on himself, Emi felt a knot in herself loosening - though him sticking out his tongue caused her eyebrows to raise somewhat. But no matter what could be said about his behaviour, beside a growing certainty that his sense of humour was truly odd, now was not the time to draw conclusions about his personality from it. They were on one team, and she'd do her best to keep the atmosphere positive. Well, at least from now on, Emi had to admit to herself.
Meeting his eye after the man smiled at her reconcilably, she nodded decisively once with a similar smile on her face, signalling that their little incident was now water under the bridge to her.

As the walls flipped and displayed the assorted items behind them, the young woman couldn't help but stare in awe for a few moments. The Kirijo weapon selections never failed to impress Emi. Although she wasn't proficient with most, just seeing this many different weapons lined up was impressive - not to mention the logistical feat of fitting them onto the helicopter.

Unsure of whether to be the first one to go ahead and grab her weapons of choice - was standing up even such a good idea inside a flying helicopter? -, Emi first scanned the walls for the sections relevant to her.
The first one was rather easy to spot, next to the selection of firearms. There was only one crossbow from what she could see, but she doubted anyone else would be using one, anyway. Sure enough, she also detected a small quiver containing the bolts she would need. Nodding to herself, she turned to the melee weapon side.
There was quite an assortment of fighting sticks, so it took her a few more moments to locate the type she would want - a cylindrical, about four feet long stave. She finally spotted three of them: a wooden one, a metal one and one whose material she couldn't quite determine - possibly some sort of specialized synthetic material. She made a mental note to check out whether the weight and feel of that last one would suit her, else she decided to go with the wooden one.

Having made up her mind about what to go for, Emi further resolved that she might as well get up and take her weapons. If she made a fool of herself again by now being a physical klutz on top of a mental one, well that would be that. She hadn't got that big of a reputation to ruin, and her competence display of the day was in the low already, so there was not exactly much for her to lose.
Standing up on slightly shaky legs, the young woman made her way towards the wall with the crossbow, to her surprise arriving there without losing her balance.

No Coming Down || Tomomi's CS File

Tomomi was relaxing most of the way there. It was easier to listen in and observe when it came to a new team. Besides she’d figured that soon they’d all be in hot water soon anyway no point in jumping in and forcing conversation, she was well aware that she was a lot for some people. She’d listened to the two go back and forth for awhile before she realized that the rest weren’t going to join in. She wondered if it was that they were shy or nervous. She heard the ETA announcement and realized that it was now or never.
She stood up from her position in the back and walked up the aisle down to the weapons. While she had already been carrying her own trusty brass knuckles it never hurt to be fully prepared. She grabbed a gun from the wall, opening the chamber and checking what type of bullets it had. It didn’t seem any different from the standard police issue gun. Which meant that for the most part it should be a perfect back up. She grabbed a holster strapping it on before going to grab another box of bullets tucking it into her vest.
She turned to the woman who had been looking at the bows before throwing her arm around the woman. She pulled her a bit closer and with a cheery voice started to talk to her without actually letting go.
“Hmmm Tachibana-san correct? I’m Hisekawa, Tomomi nice to meetcha. Interesting that you went straight for the bows. You got training in them? That’s pretty kickass.”
She looked back to the rest of the team and let go of the woman, after all she didn't want to get on people bad side just yet. She lifted her hand in a wave and beckoned to the rest of the troops. They couldn't get far if they couldn't even talk with each other, time for some ice breaking.
"Anyone got any ideas so far of how they wanna play this? We grouping up or just free styling it? After all the big boss can't be our eyes on the ground all the time."

Lee looked towards the wall as the weapons appeared, the assortment, expected of the Kirijo Group. Standing and walking to the wall, Lee grabbed two katars, the traditional push daggers of Southern Asia. Holding the two, Lee tested their weight, balance, strike potential, and durability. Nodding to himself once everything was in line, he sheathed the two in their scabbards on the back of his waist. Picking up a few throwing knives, he lined the inside of his jacket with them. It was best be prepared or anything, and an assortment of weapons was always good. Sitting back down, Lee waited for the drop off point.

Listening to the conversation at hand, Lee looked to the woman who spoke. "Tonomi Hisekawa? Correct?" he said, but before she could answer, he continued. "The ideal way to carry out this mission would be possible if we had more information, but as it stands, we know nothing. For now, we should keep a simple raid formation, tanks and DPS in the front, ranged in the middle, and support in the back. Depending on what you classify as, will depend on where you go."

Not having noticed the other woman walking up to her, Emi was slightly startled to suddenly feel someone's arm wrapping around her shoulders, but it was in all honesty a more pleasant surprise than the last one she had experienced today. To find someone seemingly even more energetic and cheerful than herself proved to be an interesting and not unwelcome change of pace for the younger woman.
"Uh, thanks! Nice to meet you, too, Hisekawa-san," she replied, smiling, happy to talk about a subject she was fairly familiar with. "Though actually, I was going to take the crossbow-" she pointed the object out, "-because I still don't have a reliable aim with normal bows..."
Emi trailed off as the other agent turned to address everyone else.

Unfazed by being cut short - it was just a habit of hers to start chit-chatting even in professional situations, and she didn't expect people to actually go along with it every time -, she used the time not caught in a hug to actually retrieve the crossbow from the wall as well as the quiver of bolts. The latter one she latched onto her belt, while she fixed her weapon to a set of straps crossing her back, a contraption which, while far from perfect, allowed her to switch between the crossbow and her stave in a reasonable time-frame, even with only one free hand.

Her hands free again, Emi crossed the compartment - a little steadier on her feet this time - to the melee section to fetch one of the staves she had in mind just when Lee Wang-ho spoke up again. With her attention divided, for the moment she only nodded at his words to show she had both heard and wasn't going to disagree, then focused on the items in front of her again.
Testing both the wooden and the synthetic one for her preference by lifting them up and going through some less space-extensive moves with them, the young woman decided to go with the one made from synthetic material. Weight and balance seemed to be almost the same as the wooden one, but knowing the technology of the Kirijo group, it was a safe bet to assume this one was more durable, should it come down to it. Although the staff was intended mainly as a back-up weapon, Emi felt reassured to know it wasn't likely to break if she took a swing against something harder than wood or bone.

Turning towards the others again, she now gave a proper reply to the male agent's proposal. "That sounds good to me," she answered. Staying together in a reasonable formation was surely a good course of action when they didn't know what awaited them.
As if to demonstrate what her role would be, Emi exchanged the melee weapon in her hands for her preferred ranged one in a motion that showed she had put quite some thought and practice into the equipment system that enabled her her bring two somewhat cumbersome weapons.

[div class=body]____The ride had been rather uneventful, for the most part. She spent the first few hours catching up on sleep, as the night before she had only gotten about four hours. If she had to be generous, at least. It was a bit awkward, falling asleep with her clunky military grade ear muffs, she had opted to forego bringing an MP3 player to conserve space, and well, a cellular device seemed rather useless on this expedition. She did pack a sudoku book, just in case she got bored, though that likely wouldn't make her sleeping more comfortable. (In fact, it would prevent her from sleeping.)

____Why had she brought her ear protection? The helicopter ride would have only been for a few hours. It took a bit of pondering. Five minutes, actually. The first few being her drifting back off to sleep, and the very last was her revelation, her eyes snapping open.

____That's right. She had a new weapon.

____Admittedly, it didn't seem to fit her. It was loud, clunky, heavy, and, if she wasn't careful, terribly inaccurate and rather messy. But well, she liked surprising people. No one would expect her to lift such equipment with her slender, bony arms. And besides, she thought, a smile breaking her face, it was quite sensible bringing it along on this mission. It'd be useful for the lush, dense jungle.

____Her back straightened as a low crackle came into her right ear, followed by Miss Saikawa's announcement of Miss Kirijo's presence.

____The lady's eyes narrowed at the minor conflict between...copper-haired lady and white-haired gent...Ah, it was Miss Tachibana and Mr. Lee! (Mr. Lee...Mr. Ree...Mystery, haha...Oh, focus!)

____Ah, no matter the names. They already made an impression on her. Miss Tachibana showed some admirable foresight, if a bit unsure of herself. Though, perhaps that was because of Mr. Lee, who admittedly, seemed rather unsavory to work with already. No matter. A mission is a mission. Work is work. She can't pick her colleagues.

____Still, it's better to ask and be informed than to walk in blind pretending you understood the case. Or at least, that was her stance on the matter. She's not Miss Kirijo however, so she had no place interrupting this spat.

____Miss Kirijo went on to speak of what they had already knew—nothing. It was a rather displeasing fact, and she could tell that Miss Kirijo too, wasn't happy about the lack of information. Oh well, she thought. It is what it is.

____The walls of the helicopter flipped and she would have jumped had she not remembered she was a trained Persona user, prepared to deal with much, much more dangerous threats than mildly advanced and state of the art technology.

____She noted the arsenal of weapons stored within the helicopter, leaving little to be desired. Had she chose to specialize in alternative armaments she might have been tempted to push aside the weapon she brought for herself.

____She glanced down at its case again, olive in color. She had pleaded her case with Miss Kirijo, presenting her very reasonable argument that—as she had recalled before—it would be useful in the jungle. She ended up forgetting how she managed to convince the lady, but that's trivial information.

____Standing up with a stretch, she observed the variety of ranged weapons offered. She spied her regular little pistol she always trained with—well, not quite the same one, but still the same model. It was familiar, it was easy, it would be good enough. She took it, placing it in the holster opposite of the one with her Evoker. She didn't use the device often, as her past experiences made it significantly easier to summon her Persona, though, one could never be sure. Better safe than sorry.

____Hefting up her melee weapon's case came effortlessly, one hand on the handle and the other underneath. It surprised her sometimes, her physical capabilities since awakening her Persona those five years ago...

____"Anyone got any ideas so far of how they wanna play this?" spoke the woman who introduced herself as Hisekawa Tomomi. "We grouping up or just free styling it? After all the big boss can't be our eyes on the ground all the time."

____She hardly had the time to answer as Mr. Lee cut in with his thoughts on the matter. Despite her initial impressions of the man, she had to agree with his decisions, but...

____"Ah, I suppose I could act a bit more offensively," the brown haired woman spoke up, her first words on this mission. She unlatched the lock on her weapon case, letting the much lighter plastic fall to the ground with a thump. "Unless, you'd rather I play support. That's reasonable as well," she said, lightly running her hand along the motionless blade of her chainsaw.

____"Oh, I'm sorry," she said, standing up a bit straighter. "It was rude of me not to introduce myself."

____She pushed a bit of hair behind her ear and gave a smile. "Fukui Suzuna. It's a pleasure to work with all of you."

As usual the first thing that stood out to her was the choices the others gravitated to in the wall of weapons. Her own brass knuckles were something she was the most used to but having an extra never hurt right? It seemed like for the most part they all grabbed at least one ranged weapon and one closer quarters one. Hmm at least they seemed to have their bases covered. Even if Tachibana had already admitted to still practicing in that area.

She decided to plant herself near Lee. She nodded when he checked that he was getting her name correct, wasn’t perfect but eh it was close enough. She giggled a bit at the game terms, somehow she didn’t expect it from the man but from his whimsical handling so far maybe she should have. She turned to face him with a grin she would have gone on to tease him about it but she was stopped by the approach of another woman, who previous to this had been quite the wallflower.

“Fukai-san huh? Woooooo, better not make you mad eh cutie. Definitely didn’t expect that to be carrying a chainsaw of all things. I suppose I can run offense or ranged. If I’m being honest I prefer my own trusty knuckledusters, but I’m pretty used to the standard police issue gun as well. I don’t imagine I’ll be pulling out any of these fancy weapons you guys seem used to. How used to your guys’ alter are you? Persona right that’s what they called it?”

Happy that the atmosphere was warming up a little - or at least, people were starting to talk to each other, Emi smiled at the woman who had spoken up for the first time. "Nice to meet you, too, Fukui-san!" she replied brightly. Then, noticing the weapon the other agent had unpacked, added after a moment of surprise, "Um, also, it's pretty cool you can fight with a chainsaw! I'm impressed!" Having thought that her own combination of weapons was on the unusual side already, Emi was intrigued to see someone with an even more unique choice. Though I'd probably never get the hang of wielding that thing, she thought to herself, mentally commending her teammate once more.

Turning back to Hisekawa, the young woman replied in a joking tone, "Well, I don't want to set expectations too high after my previous... streak of genius, but I am decent with my Persona. At least I'm better in that area than in close combat, I guess." She shrugged as if to say 'nobody's perfect', her expression turning a bit self-conscious, and continued, "Though I'm sure most of you have more experience than me." The young woman shrugged slightly a second time, then, swallowing down the beginning worry about not being competent enough to keep up, put her energy into straightening out her smile again for the x-th time this day.
What's wrong with you today? Emi asked herself, growing angry with herself for being so easily discouraged twice in what had not even been an hour. This isn't so different from what you've done so far, so get a hold of yourself!

Controlling the urge to flinch back when Tonomi sat next to him, Lee relaxed himself back into his seat. Listening to the exchange between his two squad mates was a show within itself. Already he could see a bond forming, one that would only continue to strengthen as this mission went on. "Emi Tachibana and Tonomi Hisekawa... huh..." he muttered to himself from his seat within the copter. As it stood, everyone was somewhat of a front liner, high damage outputs and aggressive fighting styles when he saw their weapon choices. A bo staff, one undecided, and was that a chainsaw? Blinking again, Lee looked to the women who held the saw, hearing her introduce herself.

"Suzuna Fukui..." he mumbled. "What is with all the Japanese names? Are they all Japanese or something? Am I really the only foreign agent?" Chuckling to himself, Lee stood in the helicopter compartment and grabbed onto a handle from the ceiling of the room. Steadying himself, he turned towards Suzuna. "Nice to meet you Suzuna." Pondering on the formation, he made a choice. "From what I can see so far, Tachibana and Hisekawa would be our main source of damage. You Miss Fukui can rotate between support and damage as well. I'll take most of the aggro from any enemy we encounter."

Turning to Hisekawa once more, he listened to her question about their Personas. The reaction from Tachibana was intriguing to say the least. She seemed hesitant, almost nervous with herself. The lack of confidence would have to be fixed if they wanted to remain stable in the mission. Thinking it was his time to answer, Lee spoke up. "I'm fairly skilled with my Persona. I like to think of them as an extension of ourselves rather than a separate entity. They embody us. They are us. I am Thou, Thou art I."

[div class=body]____"Oh, thank you! I was thinking Miles would be a bit much for a weapon. It's very reassuring to know that he's acceptable," Suzuna responded, her smile growing a tad brighter. "You don't have to worry though. It's terrible conduct to attack allies. Oh, and I would get fired."

____Or at least, that was the only logical choice of action. If she were excused for friendly fire, she'd be sure there was something wrong with the higher ups.

____"Ah, yes, they are indeed called Persona, Hisekawa-san." Though Suzuna was fairly sure it was a rhetorical question, it still didn't hurt answering. Questioning leads to the pursuit of knowledge after all, which wasn't normally a bad thing.

____That's what a smart person would say anyways. Suzuna didn't consider herself a particularly learned person.

____She placed her finger on her lip, taking on a rather thoughtful stance. "I would have to say I'm comfortable with mine. It comes rather naturally to me. Although, it's rather tempting to go wild." Looking at Miss Hisekawa, she replied, "I like to think I'm proficient with mine, though there's always room for improvement."

____She finally said her motto on this mission. "Oh, pardon me! I end up saying that a lot, so forgive me in advance if that becomes annoying," she said with a breathy laugh.

____Suzuna faintly heard Mr. Lee taking note of the majority of Japanese on the trip. Ah, well that did make sense, considering her culture's general stance on foreigners. She liked to think she was fairly open-minded about them though. It's a shame that some companies would reject people of foreign origins.

____"From what I can see so far, Tachibana and Hisekawa would be our main source of damage. You, Miss Fukui, can rotate between support and damage as well. I'll take most of the aggro from any enemy we encounter," declared Mr. Lee.

____The plan seemed rather sound to Suzuna. "That sounds fairly reasonable. Will do with pleasure, Mr. Lee. But," she added, a slight lilt to her voice, "you don't have to refer to me as Miss Fukui. Fukui will do just fine."

____With that said, Suzuna took to evaluating these people from what she's seen so far. Miss Hisekawa Tomomi certainly was the most outgoing of the group, speaking loudly and moving about with a certain energy to her. Not that she minded, of course. Suzuna quite admired the individualities of humans. Miss Tachibana Emi was less outgoing, though still rather sunny and cheerful. She faltered often in her words though. Shy perhaps? She was quite modest, if Suzuna had to be honest. Mr. Lee Wang-ho on the other hand, seemed rather sure of himself. He spoke with a bit more authority, verging on haughty. Well, Suzuna didn't quite want to think to badly of him. He was smart, if she had to give him some credit.

____"Ah, do you suppose Shadows will manifest here?" Suzuna asked. "Just to make sure," she added. It wouldn't hurt to check.

"Oh, that's a good way to put it!" Emi couldn't help but exclaim, agreeing with Lee. "I am Thou, Thou art I. It sounds really fitting." Although she couldn't quite put her finger on it right now, that phrase seemed familiar in a way, making her wonder whether it was a sort of saying that the agent had recited rather than made up. In any case, it was starting to appear to Emi that his superior attitude was not all due to him having an arrogant personality, but also due to him being competent in the matter. The amount of both of these influences was something only time could tell, though.

Then the young woman realized she had skipped over the man's earlier remark and hastened to add, "Sure, as I said, sounds good to me. I'll do my best!" She did her best to sound like the cheery self she had unusual trouble displaying today, and to her relief found it came easier to her now that the topic shifted away from their individual abilities and towards the overall mission.
Her confidence restored for the most part, she straightened up (after her previous reactions, there was more room in her posture for that than she would have liked) and turned to back to Fukui.

"Ah nice, you named your weapon!" Emi smiled at the other woman's remark before her face fell again slightly. Wait, that sounded better in my head than out loud, she realized. Though she had meant it to sound approving and a bit excited, the words could be heard as her thinking of naming weapons childish, if someone was sensitive in that regard, and after all that that happened today...
With an apologetic expression she tried to amend, "I mean, I tend to switch mine a lot, so I never really got around to doing it myself. Err, as for Shadows," Emi went on, quickly changing the topic, "I guess that falls under 'we don't know anything' as well? But I'd assume it's possible. I mean, if they had ruled it out, they wouldn't need to send Persona users, right?"
She looked back to the others, curious to hear their guesses about the situation - and hoping she hadn't overlooked the blatantly obvious for the second time today.

Jun had been sitting in the back and listening this entire time. Of course he made sure to listen to whatever Mitsuru-nee tended to say normally. She was usually never one to mince words or redirect conversations. It would seem she needed this group to check out what could be a particularly dangerous site. Checking his weapons, Jun saw they were in perfect working order. Reaver, his swords, were sharp and their mechanisms had been oiled. His guns, Hikari and Yukari had been carefully looked over by himself and Aigis-nee. With one shot, he could blow holes in weaker Shadows.

"Its probably not a simple sweep job. We need to expect enemies who may be stronger than us" Jun's reply was short and concise. While he was more jovial and sociable with the Senior Shadow Operatives. Here he was a rank and file agent doing a job. That was his role and he would fulfill it to the best of his ability. The other assembled agents had already begun chatting and comparing notes. Jun took note of this when thinking up battle plans. However what he didn't understand was why he still felt so apprehensive about the idea of a "Team". It may have been his tendency to work alone since his fight with Sho Minazuki. He went on ops alone so he could become stronger.

Kikuno must have been looking at him worriedly. She was Mitsuru-nee's personal maid and one of her closest confidants. Ever since she accepted him into the Shadow Operatives, Mitsuru-nee and the other senior Shadow Operatives had begun to care for him as one of their own. No doubt Mitsuru-nee had asked Kikuno to watch over Jun just in case he got himself into trouble....

Part of her wondered if Tachibana was simply being modest, after all if she were really just average across the board then she probably wouldn’t be here. Nah she just need some self confidence she was sure of it. She wasn’t sure if the smile Tachibana gave was more to reassure them or the woman herself, either way she gave her own toothy grin in response before focusing in on the others’ responses. From what she saw they had the potential to be a pretty balanced team, assuming everything went well.
“Ah nice, I suppose going wild isn’t quite how I picture it. I like to think I’ve become pretty adjusted to Ra by now, after a couple of years it seems almost second nature to call him out. For me it’s more of a focusing in, still for awhile I didn’t have much to do when I called him out so he’s probably gonna be pumped to finally have some action.”
She was quick to wave off the woman’s snap back into more proper speech with a it’s all good motion. After all there really was no need to be walking on eggshells when in a few minutes they’d be relying on each other to cover for each other. If they couldn’t trust each other enough to talk that was gonna be a lot harder in the long run.
Ultimately she wasn’t surprised to see mostly Japanese, even with Lee’s foreign name she half expected that he was at least from around here. Whoops better not make so many assumptions in the future she supposed. She listened in on his suggestion for a plan and nodded along where necessary. Sounded pretty solid to her, not like she was gonna be the best for planning around unknowns anyways. It’d all work out in the end.
“Ah yeah now that I think about it Ra did say something like that. He was being a little asshole though so I wasn’t really paying attention since he wanted to split my skull open in pain. It all sounded a bit grandstandy to me though yeah that totally sounds like me anyways.”
She leaned back into the chair getting more comfortable while moving her body more to direct to the outlier in the back. She would have commented on the shadows question that Fukai raised if not for the fact that he had finally decided to jump in with what sounded like chastising to her. Did the dude think they weren’t taking this seriously? Or did he think that the boss would through a bunch of unprepared newbies together and just hope for the best? Nope not gonna fly.
She stood up and walked up to the man, after a friendly nudge to Fukai and Tachibana who both seemed to be more willing to be open and friendly. She threw herself down on the seat next to him and started to softly push and elbow him, trying to get him to stand up and be corralled to the others.
“C’mon up up time to join the crew Mister Quiet Brooder, no point in not at least attempting to know the team. Or are you trying to look down on us? If there’s one thing I learned in my years of being a cop it’s that ya never know when that person watching your back is gonna save ya. I dunno about you but that is a lot easier for me to handle when I at least know names.”

Listening to Hisekawa about her Persona, Emi started thinking about what she knew about her team members so far.
Lee might prove somewhat hard to get along with, but he seemed very competent, so she had no objections to him assuming the lead as he had done with assigning roles for the team members. If she could keep her cool in case she made a mistake again, there would be no problem.
Hisekawa was certainly the most outgoing and jovial one out of the people who had spoken up so far, with a good amount of humour and confidence. Emi found herself tempted to label her as a "big sister type", but it would be weird to apply that term to a fellow agent, she conceded.
She couldn't yet gauge Fukui's personality well, but she too seemed like someone with whom it was easy to work together. She had a sort of elegant, lady-like confidence to her, though, so Emi was curious to see if that reflected in her fighting style, too.

Something in Hisekawa's words caught her attention, causing her to drop her current line of thoughts.
"Ah yeah, now that I think about it Ra did say something like that."
That's where I heard it before, Emi realized. Of course, it had been her Persona's own words: I am Thou, Thou art I. But to be fair, during her awakening, she hadn't paid much attention to her other self's word choice.

Turning her head towards the agent who had spoken up now for the first time, the young woman wasn't quite sure what to say. Even she, reluctant to consider things more of a problem than she absolutely had to, was aware that "not knowing what to expect" usually equaled "expect difficulties".
Still searching for words, Emi felt a nudge, and, reverting back to her previous stance, noticed it came from Hisekawa. Before she could react to or ask about it, she saw the other woman was already walking towards the young man. I guess she wants me to come along? she concluded, uncertainly taking a few steps after her, unsure if she had understood correctly. Moving around in the helicopter itself, was no longer a challenge, though, much to Emi's relief.

Seeing how Hisekawa started the conversation with the other agent, Emi found the assumption that the nudge had indeed meant "follow me" reinforced and quickly closed most of the distance between them to add her own two cents. While she appreciated that the other woman was trying to bring everyone together in one team, she found that she might be jumping to conclusions too quickly. After all, there could be other reasons for the young man staying quiet so far - maybe he had been just spacing out before.
"Well, everyone has their own way of doing things, right?" the younger woman tried to diffuse the situation - maybe prematurely so, but better to be safe than sorry. There was no need to start the next bout of drama after her and Lee getting into each other's hair earlier. "Though I agree it would be good if we could all work in a team, and I don't believe proper introductions ever hurt. My name is Tachibana, Emi - I think I didn't really introduce myself formally yet. It's nice to meet you."

[div class=body]____Suzuna likely would've responded to Miss Tachibana with a sheepish laugh, a scratch of the head, had it not been for the sudden entrance of the other young man into the scene.

____She recognized him from the assignment file. Mr. Hyuga, eighteen years, was it? His tone came rather vague to her. The young man seemed aloof and standoffish the the group as a whole, and while he brought up a valid point, did he think she wasn't taking the mission seriously? It likely wasn't the case, and the boy probably had mild tonality issues, a trouble she could understand well since her teenage years, so the woman inhaled, placating herself.

____"Ah, you must be Jun Hyuga-san, right? It's an honor working with you, seeing how close you are with Miss Kirijo and the other senior members," Suzuna started, recalling what she had read on her teammates' past work within the Shadow Operatives. (Admittedly, it was rather intrusive of her, and she quickly burned down any assumptions she had made on their skill level based on that research.) She attempted to curb any hints of an edge to her tone. She had to get along with her team, and she didn't want to seem uncooperative or hostile right from the get go. "And well," she continued, "I wasn't expecting anything easy from this mission, Mr. Hyuga. It's just...Shadows don't normally appear outside of the Dark Hour and the Midnight Channel, yes?"

____There was a nudge from Miss Hisekawa, and Suzuna straightened immediately, clearing her throat. "Sorry, sorry! I hadn't introduced myself properly to you either." She felt suddenly aware of her untimely hostile resting face and quickly mustered up a sheepish smile.

____"Fukui. Fukui Suzuna. Pardon my tone with what I just said earlier, Hyuga-san. I tend to forget about the importance of facial expressions."
[/div][/div]

Jun kept silent out to think over something. As such Kikuno took over for him "Yes that is normally true. Environments like the Dark Hour and the Midnight Channel are where Shadows are normally known to appear. They are in essence places where aspects of the human mind can take physical form. So while it shouldn't be surprising that additional places that fall under such classifications do come to our attention. It does still concern us... is that what you wanted to say Jun-dono?" Kikuno hid her smirk very well.

"Something similar..." Jun was not surprised that Kikuno was able to read him so well. A maid of her skill shouldn't be taken lightly. "As you might be aware from the case files, Jun-dono is one of our top agents. He has taken on almost as many solo Shadow Ops as Lady Mitsuru herself. Of course, his combat abilities still rank below the senior members. Which may be why he finds it hard to function in a team enviroment". Jun frowned at Kikuno, does her evil know no bounds?

"Mitsuru-san has entrusted an important mission to us... I simply feel we should proceed with both caution and efficiency. I'm Jun Hyuga... but I guess you already know that"

Kikuno almost let her smile show. Normally he called Lady Mitsuru "Mitsuru-nee" It was only during official business such as this that he used proper honorifics.
