Name: Shinji Kakutama

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Confidant or Thief: Thief

Arcana:
144d84d17b9d3130fb9a9a8b0950c119.png

Height: 5'6

Weight: 136 lbs

Personality: Shinji is a goofy and playful person on the surface, but deep down he is quite frustrated with his situation. He is also rather tolerant and determined.

Backstory: When Shinji's mother was a young woman, she moved from England over to Japan to study overseas. There, she met Shinji's father, settled down to live there, and started a family. Shinji is the oldest of two children.

Ever since he was young, Shinji felt that he had bad luck in life. When he was twelve, his mother was involved in a car accident that she was blamed for. The accident killed four people and badly injured his baby sister. His mother was sent to prison for this while his little sister received multiple life-altering injuries and paralysis from the waist down.

Because of his mother's reputation, Shinji is treated poorly at school. This caused him to act out in order to gain more attention. He became a class clown of sorts, goofing off and drawing attention to himself with pranks and jokes that only made things more difficult for him.

During his days off, he spends his time working at various part time jobs to help his father pay for his younger sister's medical bills and also spends his time trying to find ways to make her happy. He even steals things for her, doing absolutely anything he can to brighten her spirits.

Shinji likes the color green, is superstitious, silly, and enjoys collecting good luck charms.

Persona: Icarus

Metaverse Outfit: https://i.gyazo.com/51a07be030189e2d43c0abbe21f85c25.png

Main Element: Electricity

Current Skills: Zio, Kouha, Sukukaja

Why did you decide to become a thief: He became a thief because his sister was impressed by the phantom thieves and he strives to be someone she looks up to. He figured it might be fun and, besides, he's pretty good at stealing things. So why not?

What was your awakening like: It came to him as a sharp pain in the center of his forehead. The aching sensation quickly became a voice in his mind, that introduced itself as Icarus. It promised to give him the strength he desired. No longer would he fall, but at last he would have the power to rise up over his problems, spread his wings, and touch the sun. A white mask then appeared on his face and he tore it from his flesh as he mentally agreed to work together with Icarus. His body was then engulfed in feathers. After they fluttered to the ground, he was then in his phantom thief garb.

Name:
Toshiro Akamine

Age:
23

Gender:
Male

Confidant or Thief:
Thief

Arcana:
Death

Appearance:
Toshiro has the appearance of a very tired man who honestly seems done with his life. He often times tries to keep a smile on his face but one look in his eyes and it is very easy to tell he is dead inside. His eyes are a dark, almost reddish, brown that seem to look empty in a sense. He has long, dark black hair he usually ties into a side ponytail when at work. His hair tie is a bright red ribbon. He's incredibly small and almost sickly looking, with incredibly pale skin. Due to his small and almost sickly appearance he tends to pass for someone younger then he is. He has one of his ears pierced, however he doesn't typically wear an earring unless it's his day off. When he does, his earring is usually a very simple black stone. He always wears an eye necklace that he got from a gift from Aya, his currently comatose little sister.
On weekdays, he typically wears his work outfit. This outfit consists of a plain black T-shirt, a white coat over top, and sleek black dress pants. He tries to go for a business casual look at his job, given how he's a guidance counselor he wants to seem more 'friendly' and 'open'. He usually ends up appearing the opposite however given his generally 'fake' seeming nature. When he is off, he wears the same jacket, but with a shirt from a metal band underneath. His pants are also replaced with plain black sweatpants.

Height:
5'4

Weight:
172

Personality:
Toshiro is incredibly quiet, not out of preference to sit and listen or simply because he's a quiet person, no. Moreso quiet because he is hiding something at all times. Toshiro is an incredibly secretive person who typically hides behind the guise of a caring and friendly therapist. He is generally caring in nature, given his chosen profession, but only when he has deemed someone needs his care. He's incredibly choosey about who deserves his care, but when one is chosen he will fight for them until the very end of his life. Toshiro will never let it slip he has preferences however, though it becomes very clear in his actions who he genuinely cares about more very quickly. For those he cares about he is willing to spread himself incredibly thin just to make sure they lead a life of comfort.

Toshiro, when he is not pretending to care, is incredibly and almost scarily violent. He hides the side of himself that is more cold and calculating, this tends to be for good reason. As when he drops his act the change in personality is incredibly jarring, though one could predict that the true him is far darker then what he presents they typically wouldn't expect the borderline sociopath he is. He is incredibly calculating beneath his mask and highly values logic. He deeply values intelligence and is incredibly studious when he dedicates himself to something. When he does dedicate himself, he tends to block out most other things and focus solely on his desires.

Backstory:
Toshiro's mother was very in over her head when she decided to keep Toshiro, she was in an incredibly abusive relationship with his father at the time and thought that he would go softer on her if she had him. He didn't. She ended up cheating on him several times, and produced two more children with this other man. Toshiro's little sister's Aya and Chiho. Toshiro dedicated his life to protecting them from his father when he found out they weren't his, part of that protection extended into making sure they got out of there as soon as humanly possible. He became something of a 'child prodigy' and graduated high school a few years early, as such he got into college early and got a degree in child psychology. He hoped that he could start his private practice and help others in need while helping his own family.
He was incredibly naive.
He soon realized having a private practice meant nothing if no one was willing to come see you, but he didn't give up hope for his dream of helping others. He barely made enough to keep himself and his sisters afloat, but he was happy. Both Aya and Chiho had gotten part time jobs to help him, and they seemed to be happy to be away from the situation they had grown up in. They were a happy family.
For a time.
Everything came crashing down when Aya got into an accident. They instantly lost a source of income, and instead due to how she had become comatose, gained a suck of money. Both Toshiro and Chiho were both destroyed, mentally and emotionally. Chiho became a stay at home mess of moping and sadness. She refuses to return to the workforce despite what Toshiro attempts to do for her, and has become more of a parasite on her brother's goodwill then anything else. Toshiro due to losing both sources of income has been forced to take a job at the local high school as the guidance counselor, which pays a lot more then he was earning at his own practice but at the cost of him forcing himself to be far more emotionally available then he would like.
He found out about the metaverse only a few months ago, still being relatively new to the entire thing.

Persona:
Toshiro's persona is Azazel, an angel cast out from Heaven for teaching humans to make cosmetics and weapons.
His persona takes the appearance of a humanoid figure wearing an incredibly long purple cloak with a hood obscuring it's eyes. It has an ever present smile that show incredibly sharp teeth and bright pink cheeks. It has long, flowing black and white hair tied into a ponytail behind it. The band keeping it's hair back has two wings on it that seem to flutter when it uses an attack. It's holding a comically over sized and bloody scythe in it's hands to mirror it's summoners weapon of choice.

Metaverse Outfit:
Toshiro's Metaverse outfit is made mostly of black leather, consisting of a sleeveless top that parts at his waist and flows out in a tail coat-esc way behind him. His Metaverse outfit shows his naval clearly on it's front. His top has a small zipper on the front that reaches to just below his collar bone. He wears black, fingerless gloves that reach to his shoulder. His bottoms are incredibly short black shorts. He has thigh high boots boots that lace up with white lace. His mask is black and white, splitting down the middle with rings of the opposite color around his eyes. In his Metaverse outfit he wears a pentagram earring on his right ear. Toshiro's hair is always out of it's ponytail when he's in the Metaverse, it usually poofs out making it look large. When wet his hair goes down to his waist.

Main Element:
He uses Curse skills mostly, and is weak against Bless. He has a secondary focus on Physical skills.

Current Skills:
Eiha
Lunge
Rakunda

Why did you decide to become a thief:
Toshiro learned about the original Phantom Thieves through his sisters, he didn't think much of it at the time but as he was introduced to the Metaverse himself, he thought he may be able to help others just like they had. Maybe eventually, he could even help those who seemed too lost for him to be able to save with normal methods.

What was your awakening like:
He first came to the Metaverse through trying to help a student who seemed unsaveable, they told him they were going to end themselves and that he'd been their only friend to the end. He could not accept this. He would not accept this fate for them. He ended up in their mind palace, and had his awakening there. It came to him in a sudden, sharp pain in his heart. The sharpness of the pain soon turned into a pleasurable pain, as a voice began to speak to him claiming to be able to help him. Promising that he did not have to play victim to the world any longer, and that he could open the eyes of the other scapegoats surrounding him. All he needed to do was give it a sacrifice.
His sacrifice came in the form of ripping the mask off. The blood coming from his face was a satisfactory sacrifice to form a pact with the fallen angel of his heart. The darkness came to him, surrounded him, drowned him, yet finally he felt able to breath. When he stepped back into the light, he was in his Metaverse outfit and ready to open his first set of eyes.

Name: Akari Kishiri

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Confidant or Thief: Thief

Arcana: The Sun

Appearance: Akari is quite an intelligent-looking young man. He has dark blonde, almost brown hair that extends to the base of his neck and is combed back to show his forehead, brown-hazel eyes that are almost always complemented by black, rectangle-frame glasses (the exception being the Metaverse), and light, semi-pale skin. Akari also has a long, diagonal scar along the left side of his neck. He doesn't typically smile, and instead favors a soft, neutral frown. Akari's typical "out in public" outfit includes a black or otherwise dark-colored sweatshirt on top of a grey or dark-colored long-sleeve shirt, a pair of light grey sweatpants, a pair of grey, laced-up sneakers, and white socks. On especially rainy or snowy days, his sneakers are replaced with boots. During the summertime or on hot days, the sweatshirt is replaced with long- or short-sleeve Hawaiian-style shirts that may be light baby blue or light brown in color, and his sweatpants are replaced with cargo shorts.

At his job, Akari wears a white apron atop a short-sleeve, light-colored shirt as well as a pair of blue jeans and the aforementioned sneakers.

Height: 6'0

Weight: 150 lb

Personality: The best way to describe Akari is that he's the human equivalent of a cat. He is socially awkward around new people, to the point where he may not even speak a word unless he either feels he is required to, or if he actually feels a desire to. To those that manage to build a relationship with him, however, he is loyal to a fault and is always willing to discuss anything that interests him (though he may run on for much longer than others would like). Akari views the world much differently than others, and it is this difference in perception that results in philosophical insight from him every so often. In addition, he can come off as sarcastic in a comical way, and though it is very difficult to make him actually laugh, it is more than possible he'll brighten up his friends' faces. Despite his negativity, he tries to find the best in others. That said, however, he may not realize when he is hurting someone's feelings by mistake with a joke or two. That said, he can also be prone to having a short fuse at times if someone manages to push his buttons enough.

Backstory: Akari was born with a form of autism spectrum disorder, and as his mother was the more experienced one of his two parents when it came to such things, Akari tended to favor her over his father, who was prone to accidentally make him upset on account of his lack of knowledge as to how to properly treat his son. This led to Akari becoming somewhat estranged toward his father, to the latter's dismay.

In school, Akari discovered an interest in science and, to a lesser extent, mathematics. Upon reaching high school, he then discovered a particular knack for his peers that were willing to learn using explanations that went above and beyond the ones that the lackadaisical teachers could give. Soon, it wasn't long before "Kishi-kun is in the library" became a commonly-spread phrase that was being used by members of his class whenever he had a break period to study and relax. Understandably, Akari was annoyed at first by all of the help requests, but grew to not mind them as much, and derived an amount of pride from it.

Upon graduation, Akari pursued a field of engineering on account of his aptitude for the necessary fields of math and science, but it was only a matter of time before he realized just what sort of terrible fate would befall him. His professors (at least, the ones that taught the actual Engineering courses) were unfathomably arrogant, and seemed to not give any care in reciting their lectures. One, in particular, even managed to indirectly make fun of Akari for having his disorder. Akari did his best with what the world had dealt him, but it was when he was just two courses away from a degree that the final straw broke the metaphorical camel's back. In what was considered the most difficult course in his major, the professor outright insulted his students for "not trying hard enough", when in reality Akari was spending several back-to-back hours trying to comprehend the complex material, even going so far as to skip lunch breaks just to visit tutors. No matter what he tried, no matter how hard he worked, it was never enough. Akari did not have the heart to tell his parents that he wanted to quit this close to a possible end, and it all came to a head during an exam near the end of the Fall semester. During said exam, he wrote what could only be described as a hopeless suicide note - a soundless voice that he had to let out - on the back of the exam. He had it all planned out, and by the next morning, Akari placed a knife to his neck and made a deep cut before resting on a towel he had placed on the floor as a makeshift pillow, waiting for the pain to finally end. Akari passed out several seconds later.

Then... he awoke in a hospital. To his surprise, the professor had contacted his parents about the note and allowed them to come home just in time to stop Akari from dying of blood loss and get an ambulance. Now frail and weakened, but not dead, Akari told them the truth, and apologized profusely for not being brave enough to inform them before he put his life on the line. The three of them shared a short hug before Akari was given time to recover. After a couple of transfusions and stitches, Akari was given a new lease on life, but at the cost of a major hit to his self-esteem. He was a hard worker, but now he was afraid of a second major failure.

Fortunately, the restaurant where his father worked had a job opening, and having dropped out of college, Akari and his father decided he should take the owner up on his offer. Akari proved to be frankly overqualified for the job, but was nevertheless praised for his dedication to his work.

Persona: Akari's Persona is Hershel of Ostropol, though he refers to him by just "Hershel". He is a figure in Jewish humor, known as an impoverished trickster from the river town of Ostropol, Ukraine. He was said to have primarily targeted the rich and powerful, but wasn't shy about targeting commoners, albeit with many fewer repercussions or being let off entirely. Among the Gentiles of Ukraine, he was seen as an ethnic folk hero who could overcome any force with his wit alone. One of the more popular stories containing Hershel involves him bringing back the Festival of Lights to a town by challenging and outwitting a band of Goblins and eventually their King over the course of the eight nights.

Hershel himself takes on the form of an old, sage-like man with a long white beard and a perpetually cheeky grin upon his face. He wears a hooded cloak that is a patchwork of many dull, earthly colors, as well as a dark grey bandoliered coat with matching trousers, brown buckled leather gloves, and fur-lined boots. In his right hand is an iron-shafted trident whose golden-brass head resembles the Ukrainian Coat of Arms, along with a round amethyst in the bottom-center, close to the tip of the shaft. At Hershel's feet is a magic circle with a collection of runes and symbols from various cultures, which rotates clockwise.

Metaverse Outfit: Akari sports a suit of light-grey, almost whitish suit of helmet-less armor. The cuirass bears a golden fox head at the top-center, along with a fur ruff at the neckline. Below the belt, Akari wears a set of platelegs and fur-topped boots. The other ornamental parts of the armor itself are the greaves above his boots which bear golden motifs that resemble phoenixes, his gauntlets, vambraces, and pauldrons, all of which bear decorations resembling golden roses with thorned vines, and a violet half-cape which travels along the right side of his back and can be pulled forward to cover his arm. On his back is a pair of leather holsters for his sword and crossbow. Akari's mask takes on the shape of a gold-colored metallic visor with wing-shaped ornaments near his ears. This armor, according to Akari, is "surprisingly more lightweight than it looks".

Main Element: Bless for offense, with a secondary focus on Healing and Buffs.

Current Skills:
- Kouha
- Hama
- Media
- Rakukaja

Why did you decide to become a thief: Akari, with his waning self-esteem, wanted power to help others in need, more specifically, to help ensure that others like him would never have to experience the pain he had gone through. He had heard of the Phantom Thieves through discussions coming from online gamers as well as the Phanbase site, and with the original group apparently gone, this was his chance to contribute to society in ways that most others could not.

What was your awakening like: A castle stood before Akari amidst a red sky, choked with pulsating thorned vines-- his own Palace, symbolizing his heart feeling strangled by the hatred he bore. Upon entering the dimly lit halls of this once-noble edifice, he was off-put by the countless decorations that depicted his inner feelings. They weren't real, but nevertheless they held truth to them. He found his way to the castle's throne room, and the second the enormous double doors opened, he was met with pitch black and the foul, sibilant sounds of serpentine hissing. One by one, candles flickered to life, slowly revealing a horrific monstrosity: from the chest of a crying mannequin resembling Akari himself emerged an enormous black rose with a slitted snake's eye at the center of its petals, aided by four vines that ended in heads akin to those of vipers.

A voice rang in Akari's head as he shakily stared down the monstrous entity: "So, a young man steps forth to be a bearer of light. As you wish, for I can tell your inner resolve is strong in spite of how asphyxiated with darkness your heart is. I am thou... and thou art I. But first, to truly help others as you so desire, you must first help yourself. You know what to do, don't you? Remove the mask, and together, let us bring the light back to this world gone dark, and shatter the thorned shackles that bind your very essence." Akari laid a hand on the metallic mask which had appeared upon his face, and replied: "This power... this is it... the true strength of my heart, to... to bring light to even the darkest of places. Come forth... Hershel!"

With a mighty tug, Akari ripped the mask clean off as a pillar of bright golden energy surrounded him. Then, after several seconds, an enormous blade cleaved straight through, causing the energy to dissipate. What was left behind was Akari, clad in a fantastic suit of armor with a powerful two-handed sword clutched firmly in his hands. "The dark emotions that so mightily strangle my heart... I shall rend them all asunder!" Sensing the power that now flowed through Akari's veins, the rose let out a high-pitched, blood-curdling shriek and began striking at Akari with its viper heads, but try as the monster might, each head would only be cleaved in half before they could even touch him. Its heads now severed, all that remained was the main flower. Akari raised his sword into the air and forcefully stabbed it into the rose's stem, causing it to thrash and writhe until it ceased to move and the castle began to crumble around him. Akari escaped-- and not a moment too soon, for he collapsed to one knee in exhaustion shortly thereafter. Thus began the journey of the one known as "Paladin".

Hotaru Fujioka

Age: 16
Gender: Female
Confidant or Thief: Thief
Arcana: Hermit

Appearance: Hotaru has sharp, narrow eyes, and she often gets mistaken for glaring at people. She has a thin face with high cheekbones. Her black hair is naturally curly, but every school she’s been to has made her straighten it, so it’s become habit for her to do so every morning regardless of where she’s going. Her casual-wear is very plain.
Height: 175 cm (5’9”)
Weight: 60 kg (132 lbs)

Personality: Hotaru often doesn’t feel as if she has a goal in life, not excelling academically or holding an interest in any particular subject. Around others, she’s quiet and on edge, never knowing what the other person wants with her. She has a difficult time trusting others, especially her teachers; as far as she’s concerned, she has no reason to believe that they have her best interests at heart. While she does hide it, it’s not hard to make her cry, and bullies have learnt to take advantage of her apparent spinelessness. If she were to fight back, the bullies would cry to the teacher, and she would take the blame for the whole situation. When at school, she tries to keep her head down and away from attention. When she is around close friends, she seems more open and cheerful, able to relax around a small group of people.

Backstory: Hotaru’s mother abandoned her and her dad when she was still a baby, and Hotaru has no memories of her mother. In her early years, Hotaru was partially taken care of by a housekeeper that her dad had hired, but once Hotaru started school, she was more able to stay at home by herself, and the housekeeper no longer works for the family. On occasion, she’ll joke that she has more memories of that woman than of her own mother, and that it took some convincing when she was especially young that the housekeeper wasn’t her mother. Really, Hotaru isn’t sure how she should feel about her mother, never having met her, but it’s hard for her to hold many positive emotions for someone who abandoned them and clearly hurt her dad so deeply.

Her dad rarely talks about the woman he married, only saying that his parents didn’t approve of the marriage, resulting in a falling-out between him and them. Hotaru and her dad have almost nothing to do with the extended Fujioka family. However, even with just the two of them, Hotaru has a good home life. She trusts her dad enough that she can go to him with most of her problems, but after a point, she became more telling him about being bullied. All it does is worry him, and his complaints to the school have gotten no results.

For Thieves only
Persona: Erinys, one of the Greek deities of vengeance, who punishes oath-breakers.

Why did you decide to become a thief: When the original Phantom Thieves were active, Hotaru did follow the Phansite somewhat, but she never had the courage to put in a post of her own. Now that she has the same power, Hotaru made the decision to steal back her own future, as well as those of the other people who had been wronged.

What was your awakening like: It seemed like it was only chance that she happened upon the principal’s Palace. While there, she was confronted by a bizarre version of the man and his demonic cronies. He held absolute power over the hierarchy the school, allowing some students exaltation, while treating the rest as faceless goons or fodder. He would only grant these privileges to those who could bring him further prestige. She tried to escape, but he had her surrounded. It was then that she heard a voice accompanied by a stabbing pain in her skull.

“Are you going to allow this man to continue his crimes? Join with me, and we can ensure that he receives what is due.”

After Awakening and defeating the initial onslaught, she was forced to retreat to the real world.

Name:
Leanne Musashi

19
Gender:
Female
Confidant or Thief:
Thief
Arcana:
XX - Judgement
Appearance:

Height:
5’ 10” - 1.78 m
Weight:
130 lbs - 59 kg
Personality:
Leanne is very outgoing, a cheery girl who seemingly does not have a single care in the world. Of course, masks can be confusing and misleading, and when you wear when your entire life, it becomes natural. Leanne is simply lost, and uses happiness and cheer as a shield against the darkness in her heart. She strives for something, a deeper sense of meaning to her life, one that isn’t defined by who she was, but by whom she will be. Everything she does is to find that purpose, and underneath all the cheer is a girl determined to find her path.
Backstory:
The heiress to a rich business tycoon, Leanne wanted nothing to do with the business. She wanted freedom, she wanted to find her own path, but she was always shackled down by her own self-loathing. Born to a rich business man and a stay-at-home mom, Leanne was told from the very start to be perfect. She was told to perfect everything that came her way, and at the center of it all, Leanne cried for help in a cage of expectations. She wasn’t always Leanne Musashi, she was a girl she didn’t want to be.
She grew up being given the best, being taught to be best, and accepting only the best. Her father and even her mother kept telling her she would be married by a man worthy to take over the company, not her, some guy she would marry. Of course Leanne did not agree with this, she did not agree with anything, but how could she rebel against the authority of her parents? Leanne found solace in one place, the tones of a violin, in which she started to play without her parent’s awareness. She would sneak out at night, her parents not knowing, and play for strangers on the street corners. She would often get tips, and any money she earned, she sent to charity. This continued on from age 14 to 17, until her parents discovered her rebellion, and crushed it.
She ran away. Leanne ran away from her home, leaving everything behind. She took to the streets with just the clothes on her back, a backpack of precious memories, and her violin. She ran and ran and ran, until she came upon a place willing to let her stay as long as she paid rent, even if she was a runaway. She now attends the local highschool under a different name, a different look, and a different out view on life.

Why did you decide to become a thief:

What was your awakening like:
What could one do when faced with yourself, but fight? When she appeared in the world she would soon know as the Metaverse, Leanne thought it was only a dream, but onset by the Shadows of his own self-doubts, her paranoia, her worries, and a shadow of herself, Leanne was forced to make a decision. Does she live and die by the hands of what made her afraid, or does she take what is hers and unleash her judgement upon the world? Taking matters into her own hands, Leanne ripped off the mask the covered her face, and she could feel it as it embraced her. A voice spoke in the back of his head… and thus Ereshkigal, the Goddess of Kur, brought her spears unto the wicked, slaying all who disrupted the balance within.

Mizuki Kohaku

Age:
19

Gender:
Female

Confidant of Thief:
Confidant

Arcana:
Temperance

Appearance:
5CF4281F-8F91-41F5-8C19-1F958006645B.jpeg
Mizuki is a little tall standing at 5'7. Her eyes are a bright amber colored. Her hair is a light pink which she usually wears in a messy ponytail or down over her shoulders. Outside of school she likes to wear flashy colors like the picture, or more monotone hoodies and sweats in the winter.

Height:
5'7

Weight:
129 lbs

Personality:
Mizuki is a proud, stoic girl willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants. She's very loyal to those special to her, and is willing to go great lengths to make sure they're ok. Mizuki is no outcast, and likes being with other people. Around school she enjoys talking with others and socializing, but catch her as she's leaving and you'll get the cold shoulder. Her time during the day is very short and she hates spending being unproductive.
Although she runs her fathers shop she knows hardly anything about customer service and can be rather impatient with new or uneducated buyers. She just expects that everyone who comes through her doors knows specifically what they want and doesn't want to waste her precious time babying someone. However she does cave in to persistent people, and is very passionate when talking about things she loves.

Backstory:
Mizuki's life had been pretty run-of-the-mill life, her mother working in television while her father owned and ran a small airsoft shop in Akibahara. She went through school with passing grades, played softball in middle school, spent time learning her fathers hobby and eventually found a good group of friends at the start of high school. It wasn't until recently where fate decided to deal her a bad hand. Her father came down with a sudden heart disease, which effectively knocked him off his feet and into a hospital. With hospital bills stacking and a doctor adding on extra expenses for under the table medical treatment one source of income wasn't enough to keep their family afloat. In the midst of this Mizuki took it upon herself to run her fathers shop and power through her final year of high school.

Name: Toru Takehiko
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Confidant or Thief: Phantom Thief
Arcana: The Magician

Appearance: Toru is someone very close to his friend and families hearts, and his appearance reflects that. Toru has short dark brown hair, which is usually combed up in the front for a quaff-like effect. His eyes are almost the exact same color as his hair, if not a little lighter (his thin, tight-fitting gray glasses help accentuate this). Torus skin color is that of a slight-tan, but not one that would be noticeable by most, which is caused by his experience of sport outside.

Toru has a variety of outfits, but most of them are simply variants of his school uniform. His usual out-of-school outfit is that of a warm, scarlet-violet button, and a pair of black jeans. When it's colder outside, he simply adds a gray jacket to it. In the hotter seasons, Toru wears a crimson T-shirt with a masked fox depicted on it, as well as a pair of black sweat-shorts.
Height: Six Feet
Weight: 154 lb

Personality: Toru is the kind of friend we'd all like to have one day. Or at least, that's what he seems like. Toru is usually very humorous and friendly , but not class-clown worthy. He is shy around new people, but once he gets to know someone, tries to become great pals with them. Unlike his predecessors, however, he is not a pervert or a source of comedic relief. He enjoys literature, specifically fiction and magical realism, thus giving making him well-read and literate. Toru is also very creative, having many ideas in his head at once without any creative outlet for them.

However, his friends are sometimes more important. What he struggles with, however, is the fights between them. He can never choose a side, or risk a loss of a bond. This takes a toll on Toru, and builds up inside him. Plus the constant weight of grades and sports, Toru (though he acts as if it doesn't bother him and pushes through) is very stressed out most of the time, but has learnt how to keep his cool.

Backstory: Toru led quite a normal life. He had been born to his parents, and later had a younger brother three years younger than he. His parents moved into a larger home in the country, and worked as college professors for most of his childhood. His friends at school and friends out multiplied as the years went on, as well as his brothers. Things were good.

Until the incident.

A greedy counselor pulled Nao (Torus brother) from class, and manipulated him to say that Toru and his father had abused him. This caused the justice system to take affect, splitting Torus family apart. They were each placed somewhere differently, away from each other. Toru almost lost his family. But the good prevailed, and attorneys and defenders were able to put Torus family back together. They soon moved to a bigger city, where he began to attend a bigger, much more respectable high school. Here, he tried to move on, and started attempting to make friends again. He even joined the swimming team to attempt to compensate for his new being there.

Persona

Why did you decide to become a thief:
To take down those who use others for their own desires, such as he and his family were used.

What was your awakening like:
He was trapped. The creatures of darkness had cornered, literally, against a wall. As they broke free from their masks and showed their true forms, Toru knew this was the end. Then he heard a voice. "Shall you truly die here, unprosperous and with an unsubtle end?" this voice sounded like... no one, and everyone at once. Regaining his composure slightly, Toru responded with a mental negative note. "Very well then. Since you show to have no abilities against these simple kabuki, I shall lend you my abilities." A sudden pain shot through Torus head, hot and intense, as if his brain itself were about to explode. He began to thrash around, his glasses falling off in the process. As he stood up, breathing heavily, he said, "Fine. Then the power to obtain the success I desire run through me. Come, Inari!" Toru ripped off the mask covering his face, unleashing a pillar of fire. As it cleared, he was revealed to be wearing a new, sleek outfit. Smirking, he threw his hand up, as a figure of largely bigger size and power appeared.
