Fandom Boku no Hero: Peace Sign Academia Characters

He gives off an easygoing and fun aura, smiling, or calm in many instances. behind closed doors or when he thinks he is alone however he prefers solitude to 'recharge' his social batteries. Too much socialization can make him irritable and anxious. He often worries to himself about not being good enough or simply being a bad person. However he tries not to let it show. He will if he trusts someone enough, breaks down, or simply lashes out without thinking, dragging up self-doubt as a defense mechanism.
When upset he can become cold, and distant. Seemingly uncaring and neutral. This only lasts long enough to avoid publicly breaking. He tends to let emotions override intelligence, and can be goaded into letting his guard down through rage/emotion inducing tactics.
Personality is too short and terribly underflawed

claiming it was the reason his son was a freak.
Wait, wait, what made him a freak again?

User manifests a barrier of energy, and can manipulate it's size based on user's endurance. The shield takes blows, but each blow wears down it's protection of the user. after 5 minutes the shield ceases protecting the user effectively, allowing some blows to cause them harm. However those protected whom are not the user will be unaffected by this. Internal injuries can be cause through overuse. The shield collapses entirely after 15 minutes. At the 10 minute point, the user is exposed to full force attacks.
If the shield lasts that long, it needs a considerable cooldown

I also want more concrete definition of what each kind of blow is. I also take it only physical blows are blocked, correct? Are gases and things that aren't kinetic attacks something that bypasses the shield or are they blocked too?

Just some lady, Mao Mitsutada, at your service. I’ll do my best to live up to expectations. ...whatever ones you have for me anyway.”

Nicknames:
Just Some Lady

Hero Name:
Just Some Hero
{S}

Age:
25

Gender:
Female

What they will teach:

Appearance: (anime or description)
An average lady of average proportions, if a little tall. She features multi-colored hair of black and white, along with a tuft of crimson on the locks right in front, making her seem like someone who dropped out of a punk band. She also sports a pair of arrow tattoos on her left bicep, one red and one blue. Her custom-made tank top also features this same pattern.

Hero Costume:
Mao doesn’t bother too much with a costume. She usually dons a domino mask and draws on a white hooded coat over herself and goes as is. Perhaps she doesn’t fear being seen, or being recognised, and mostly just wears what can be constituted as a costume in the most minimal way possible just because she is obligated to.

Height:
171 cm

Weight:
60 kg

Personality:
‘Just some lady’ is how Mao prefers to describe herself. Just a normal lady who just happened to end up teaching at PSA. She is, personally, quite easy-going and approachable, making her the least intimidating person on campus on that account. She has a remarkable memory for faces and names, and the reputations of various people, allowing her to easily initiate conversations.

The public’s main opinion of her is that she is a nice lady, almost humble to a fault, and shies away from the spotlight most of the time. She makes light of her own abilities, and downplays all of her traits. She, personally, finds herself to be quite unimportant to the Pro Hero scene, and admits that almost anyone else could do her job better than she can, with less planning, thinking, and overall effort involved. That said, she also admits that she continues as a Pro Hero because she needs to carry some of that burden herself, if only just a little of it, indicating that she at least thinks she is able to do something.

She often prioritises other people over herself, and worries herself sick over others than herself. As a teacher, she is like to push for free time and personal study periods, and as such, exerts herself to plan well ahead of time what topics she will cover with strategic precision. Though it takes a toll on her stress, she is the most likely to ensure that her students are enjoying campus life and still be able to learn and ace their exams.

As a hero, she seems to be able to understand that some things have to be done. While she actively avoids direct confrontations with villains, and opts to claim an objective over combat, she has also expressed and exhibited the ability to use underhanded means to achieve victory. She doesn’t believe in killing a foe, but has severely crippled several villains, and knows especially soft targets on a body where a wound will put the limb out of commission, and when pushed to the extreme, she can toss out her usual disposition on killing out of the window without too much weight on her shoulders.

Her easy going personality is also one of her biggest flaws. She is so easily convinced and so ready to go with whatever other plan others have that she will defer to them than to take initiative. People find difficulty in forming opinions of Mao purely because she is just so flakey. It is rare to see her actually voice out her own opinions in a group discussion, and when she does find a plan disagreeable, she bottles it up.

Mao is also notably quite impatient, despite her lackadaisical behaviour. When a tasking is given, she will prefer it if everyone got to it post-haste or not at all. She absolutely hates sitting around and talking things over. Procrastination is one thing, but extended arguments over what should be done and how it should be done irritates her to no end, which ultimately causes her to just get up and go do everything on her own. Her over-considerate way of dealing with things usually end up with her being considered quite the doormat, and people who know how to push her buttons can have her do whatever they want her to do.

On the rare chance she loses her temper, however, as all people who just bottle up their anger, she showcases a genuinely frightening side of her. She will take the most drastic measures just to ensure that her target is humiliated or entirely annihilated, under any circumstances at all. While one of the weakest Pro Heroes around, to challenge her is the work of a fool, and she will prove it.

Likes:
-Gummy sweets
-Manga and anime
-Sweet drinks
-Metalworks
-Pork
-Just do it attitudes

Dislikes:
-Abject disrespect for others
-Sour sweets
-Vegetables
-Beer
-Babies
-Excessive discussions

Fears:
-Ghost stories and ghosts freak her out more than they should. Cannot watch ghost movies without leaving halfway through, and not being able to sleep for weeks.

-Deep bodies of water, to the point where she gets goosebumps in a swimming pool and rarely swims alone, and absolutely refuses to swim in the sea. Once panicked on a snorkelling trip, and was swept away by a strong current, only worsening her fear.

Mannerisms:
-Occasionally displays mannerisms of a yankee, such as crouching around corners while smoking, slouching or hunching over with her hands in her pockets, and using crass language. It only shows once in a blue moon, though…

-Rubs the back of her neck and laughs when nervous or embarrassed.

Relationships:
Nao Mitsutada: Younger sister. 17 years old. Quirkless. Studying for her university entrance exams and helps out at the family textile store. Gets along well with her sister despite the age gap.

Jun’ichi Mitsutada: Father. Quirkless. Owns a textile store in a rural area of Japan. A rather average man who has achieved all he wants in life. Believes in not pampering his children, but also does not tamper with their lives, leaving them to do what they wish to do.

Iwako Mitsutada: Mother. Quirkless. Works alongside her husband. A rather average woman who goes where her husband goes. Quite pretty for her age. She doesn’t involve herself with her children’s wants, but is always open to give advice to them at crossroads.

Tohru Tenryunnosuke: A Pro Hero going by the name Ryukaze. His Quirk allowed him to move at bursts of high speeds, allowing him to essentially teleport small distances, and use said velocity to deliver incredible punches, in exchange for his sight when he was moving with his Quirk. Mao was attached to him as a sidekick during her time trying to get a license. She still keeps in contact with him and sometimes defers to him for advice in issues that her mother cannot solve. Her skill with knives in general comes from Tohru's tutelage.

Backstory:
Mao ‘Just Some Kid’, ‘Just Some Schoolgirl’, ‘Just Some Youth’, and finally ‘Just Some Lady’ Mitsutada didn’t live a particularly flashy life. If it can be summed up in a few words, Mao’s entire 25 years can be described as ‘pretty average: has its ups and downs, but nothing special’, especially when compared to many of her colleagues today.

Mao grew up in a Quirkless environment, out in Akita, Japan. By some strange fortune, Mao was the only one in her family who could manifest her Quirk. Even her sister, born 7 years after her, did not pick up the rare Quirk gene. But even then, as she compared her Quirk to others, she realised that she had drawn the short straw. While she hung out with the local group of yankee girls, skipped classes frequently, and occasionally smoked, she never exposed her Quirk once. As a matter of fact, to tell one of her old friends of the fact that she had a Quirk at all would surprise them. Even to this day, very few of them knew Mao was one of the ones gifted with a Quirk.

Mao left Akita for Tokyo at 18, intending to finish her studies and find a job, studying at a local university. She managed to scrape through, but her applications were rejected constantly by several companies. While she waited on the other applications that haven’t been rejected, she worked at various companies as part-time help.

She was pushed into the role of a Pro Hero during a hostage situation which occurred at a bank nearby her current workplace. Purely out of concern, she managed to extract a few of the hostages and acted as a distraction for the most part before actual heroes arrived on the scene. When found out that she had no license to use her Quirk, she was quickly arrested for vigilantism, though was just as quickly let go with a slap on the wrist when the prosecution brought nothing much against her other than blatant disregard of the rules. However, she had to claim a proper license as part of her punishment. She was subsequently attached to a Pro Hero by the name of Ryukaze as a sidekick. She acted first as his primary form of distraction, and the combination of both his and her Quirk made them a rather powerful combination. As they moved on, Ryukaze eventually let Mao take the reins on a couple of missions, earning her quite the bit of experience.

At 24, she received her license, and was back to unemployment. She was then infamously known as Just Some Hero/Lady, who often walked into situations. The public unofficially named her, and she earned just a tiny bit of following. She was oft overshadowed by many other Pro Heroes however, and some of her acts weren’t even credited. She didn’t bother much. This hero shtick was just another part-time work to her.

When the PSA was under construction, she helped as bare menial labour, and significantly greased things along with her multitudes of general knowledge in several areas, such as repairing broken machines, bringing in backup generators, acting as replacement security, or basically just filling in for anyone who was on leave. Her rather easy-going attitude would go on to earn her a place as a teacher in PSA, much to her own surprise. After several years of unemployment, she was only too happy to accept, and prepared for it by cramming every ounce of information she needed for teaching into her head.

Reason for becoming a teacher:
Embarrassingly, because it was a solid job she could hold on to...it’s not to say she isn’t interested in teaching the kids, though.

Notable Feats as a hero:
-Participated in multiple hostage situations, serving as a distraction while other heroes moved in.
-Credited for rescuing numerous hostages herself over the years.
-Credited for the takedown of about thirty villains.

Hero Style:
A Pro Hero who works well from the shadows, and acts in both hostage rescue situations as well as villain capture/takedown. Mao relies on others setting up distractions for her while she moves in on the objective. She also relies heavily on sneak attacks, as well as guerilla tactics, to get the job done when confronting villains or other Quirk-bearing threats.

Quirk:
{S}

Special Moves:
N/A

Items:
Karambit: Mao’s only means of defense. A terrible weapon in all sense of the word, in that it is extremely close ranged, but the effects are devastating, especially in the hands of someone trained.

Skills/talents:
Knifeplay: Quite well-versed in using the karambit and other knives. In a one-on-one combat with her, her knifework is something to be seen and experienced.

Odd Jobs: Has worked part-time in multiple service areas, from restaurants to help desks. She packs a couple of non-specialised skills, such as minor IT troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, social manipulation, and fixing stuff in general.

Theme Song:
Mao Mitsutada:
Fujirokyu - Cry Max Do Heijitsu

Just Some Hero:
Daisuke Ishiwatari - In The Shadows

I just*sigh*. It's up to you. I can try and do it or I can give the basic of what happened, and expand on it ic later on maybe.

This was a very unfortunate accident, but it's not the kind of thing I can bend the rules for, I'm sorry. However, if it puts you at ease, you can give me the basics for a pseudo-approval. A pseudo-approval is like a regular approval, so you can roleplay, but at any point that right can be removed and you can't roleplay in major events without a proper approval, which would be given after you finish retyping with time.

I already started retyping it after I sent that. Ahaha my overthinking. Thank you though.

: Jesse keeps to himself most of the time, finding it easier to avoid others. If he lets them close, then the shadow of what-ifs grows overhead. He is riddled with self-doubts and anxiety. When he's extremely upset he runs his hands through his hair. During a panic attack he may mumble to himself in english. He carries earbuds and his cellphone with him, as if his anxiety gets too bad he can use music as a way to ground himself. If he has a total breakdown he needs something or someone to ground him. He avoids crowds, afraid that something might happen, that anything might happen. He can be a loyal and faithful friend if you manage to crack past that shell of distance he keeps up. He is the guy to make jokes and try to keep everyone happy. Glad to take jokes at his expense if it helps everyone laugh. Though he tries to be strong, he's extremely broken. If he wasn't so dedicated to helping others, or just throwing himself into some task, he'd fall apart. On nights where he wakes up calling out for someone to help them, he often stares at nothing. Letting tears fall silently as he grips his quilt tightly. Until he grounds himself enough to fall asleep, or rebuild that mask. His fatal flaw is his self-doubt. He doesn't trust himself. Always overthinking or overcomplicating simple things, and giving that dark shadow called anxiety more weight until it's suffocating him. He tries to be strong. But sometimes, even the strongest need help.
while the flaw problem is kinda fixed (with spit for glue), it's still one dimensional. We only get to see the facade to help others side of him. Please expand a little on other sides of the character

kind, aside from a few...quirks. His quirk had come from seemingly nowhere, with neither parents having had one themselves. Not truly concerned about this oddness,
Actually, having quirks is the norm in the boku no hero world

Jesse had been 9 years old on the night it happened. After a family movie night, he'd suggested they get ice-cream. After teasing him about his appetite, his parents obliged, taking the highway towards downtown. Jesse remembers staring out the window as the highway flew past. There was screeching metal. He was crying out for someone to help them, then it went dark. Only to be fully recalled in his nightmares from that night on. The metallic screeching, sirens wailing. His parents....sitting there. Lifeless. Someone dragged him away. He fought them because they were dying oh god why couldn't these people let him go?! He needed to get to them! He needed to help! Not too soon after he heard things like sedate, and custody. However in his shock and panicked struggles, he failed to notice someone bringing a needle to his skin. Then everything was a blissful cloud of muffled sounds and muted sadness. After he was released from the hospital, Soba came for him. Embracing him tightly as she shook with barely suppressed tears. Maybe it was just the painkillers, but Jesse was numb..hollow...empty. He stayed that way for a while...
I have no idea what I just read. Since it seems important, I'll read the rest of the backstory after you explain it to me

Barrier Defense- A quirk which allows its user to create a barrier that can block physical forces like bullets or small blasts. It lasts 8 minutes maximum, and takes 16 to recharge to it's minimum functionality. Overusing it at minimum functionality can cause internal injuries. After 8 minutes of useage, the user is left exhausted. To use the quirk again without fear of overstressing it, he requires at least 2 hours to recover. In theory he could split the barrier and protect a spread out area but he hasn't tried. He can however make the shield bigger. It just takes more energy to hold up, and lessens the strength.
how many blows of what can it take?

More edits! I hope im not bothering you too much D:

Name: Duriander Tragiasa

Nicknames: Duri.

Desired Hero Name: Rush

Age: 15

Gender: Male.

Chosen Extra Class: Mentoring.

Appearance:
Lovino-Romano-Vargas-3-hetalia-romano-30240872-354-500.jpg Height: 5"1
Weight:140 lbs.
(145 with the costume.)

Personality:
He's a total pushover who will more often than not just go with the flow. He's pretty good at acting out certain emotions even if he doesn't even remotely feel them, with his usual being happiness. Despite that, he's actually pretty sensitive and even a joking insult will cut pretty deep and have him thinking about it for a bit. He's pretty moody and can go from obnoxiously happy to extremely sad after a really terrible insult. It's not easy to agitate him, but there are certain things that'll do it instantly. He tends to overthink things, and will often procrastinate, and then hesitate whenever he starts to do what he was not doing.
He tends not to be very sociable, and if there's somebody he feels uncomfortable around, he'll just agree with whatever they say, and hope that his friendliness will fix whatever bugs him about them. Even if it doesn't, he'll still start to eventually like them. When he's in a group with nothing but friends, he tends to become more open. He's a mother's boy who does whatever he can to stay out of trouble, which mixes with his cowardice and paranoia, as he will rarely ever take a risk. Despite his cowardice, he is polite.

(soon to be) Hero Costume:
tumblr_inline_nv58b9uUSl1qm4ldg_500.png It gives a bit of protection with the gloves being thick at the knuckles to protect them from getting busted. It also has pockets at the legs, calves, and wrists. The shoulder fins are aesthetic and can be taken off in 5 seconds. The red parts are made of aluminum, coated in colored plastic. The rest of the outfit is thick fireproof spandex. Likes:
Sweets.
Reptiles.
Elderly people.
Classic music.

Dislikes:
Bitter or Spicy foods.
Drama shows.
Characters dying in shows.
Being insulted.

Fears:
Any sort of small and fast animal.
He's constantly afraid that anything he does might affect people he loves, especially his grandparents.
Mannerisms: He tends to lock his hands and push his thumbs together when around someone he's uncomfortable with. He tends to immediately get agitated when someone trash talks his grandparents. He also tends to hold doors open for other people, and rarely eats with his hands. He even has a handkerchief for wiping his mouth. He tends to wear the visor on his hero costume up.

Backstory: Duriander was a normal kid who never really knew his parents, but from what he heard from his guardians, his grandma and grandpa, they were part of a large underground drug circle, which killed people who didn't pay using their quirks. Duriander didn't mind, though, because he had his grandparents, who were always there for him. His grandpa was a firefighter and his grandma was a Hero, though both have since retired. His grandparents taught him to become an outstanding citizen, most likely in disdain for Duriander's father. They taught him good manners and a lot of other "Upstanding Citizen" type stuff.
Duriander was always into becoming a hero, but finally decided on the career when his grandmother told him about what her career was like.

Relationships:
His Grandma - The Retired Hero, Technocality. - His driving force for becoming a hero. She is the person he looked to for guidance in his life. Her quirk is Machine Reactor, a quirk that allows her to ingest electricity, gasoline, and most other fuels machines can use.
His Grandpa - A Retired Firefighter - The person he'd always go to when he needed a friend.
His Tortoise - Shelly - Caring for and playing with her is the main way he'd pass his time, besides reading.

Quirk:
Adrenaline Rush
His body produces a large amount of adrenaline when he gets agitated to a certain point. When he gets agitated to a certain point, Adrenaline Rush activates until he consciously switches it off. He can keep it going for 5 minutes at the maximum, though he'll pass out once that's done. He can stop it before then, with stopping at a minute leaving him tired, and four minutes leaving him very tired. After use, he'll need to rest for twice the amount of time he used it for him to recharge, or else he'll pass out after a few seconds of resuming Adrenaline Rush. While activated, he gets a 2x boost to his speed and strength, with a 4x boost to his endurance.
Special Moves:
Adrenaline Hijack.
This move is impossible for him to consciously trigger, but activates automatically when Duriander is pissed off to the extreme, i.e seeing somebody very close to him get beaten half to death. He receives a 3x boost to speed and strength, and a 6x boost to endurance. This lasts 30 seconds, with Duriander passing out after it's over.

Items: He brought a tablet with music and books on it, a handkerchief, and an old arts and crafts project.

Skills/talents: He's good with animals and children.

You didn't do anything wrong with the way you went about it, I just thought I'd mention there was a much easier way :)

And while I'm at it, I might as well ask if you understood the secret system. Cause your backstory contains some parts that are hidden (which is against the rules, unless you PM me the revealed information with the secret system)

He can't exactly remember what happened. Only that his father had yelled out a warning before the screech of metal rang out. It was a harsh grating sound that made Jesse flinch. His mother hadn't had time to say anything as the car suddenly lurched and spun in what felt like slow motion. He must have hit his head, because the next thing he could remember was waking up in an ambulance.
JustifiedRoles JustifiedRoles this is where you have hidden information. A memory lapse is fine for a character, but a character application must still have the info even if the character doesn't remember it.

When I approve a character I am approving not a perspective, but an existence in the cannon of this roleplay. Therefore, I cannot approve things I don't know- things which could risk being inconsistent with the roleplay and the plot.

or a few large blows to it's center
define "few" and "large blows"

This can perhaps be improved with time, but it is all he can maintain from his little to no training.
You can remove this. Improving a quirk is something that happens with the QEP system, so having this here is redundant

Jesse was thirteen years old when he lost his parents in a car crash. It had been sudden and unexpected. His father was a great driver, so Jesse didn't need to worry much when they were on the road. As he gazed out the window and watched the highway move past, the car quiet aside from his parent's soft chatter and occasional laugh. They were one their way to visit Soba and Sojo across town, deciding to take the highway in hopes of stopping by a shop on the way to buy the grandparents a gift for their anniversary. His parent's hadn't waited til the last minute, Jesse had just been busy with studying to a point where it slipped his mind. After asking the paramedics where his parents were and receiving unsatisfactory response, he'd began to panic. Sitting up he'd tried to stand so he could get out of there and find them. But the two emts were quick to restrain him, eventually sedating him when he refused to stop struggling. They hadn't wanted him to hurt himself on any of the equipment, and after a head injury erratic movements could do worse damage. The next time he woke up was in a hospital. He'd received a mild concussion and some bruising to his ribs but it wasn't bad enough to warrant an overnight stay. Especially after they explained the situation. His parents had died upon the second impact, after the car had flipped into another lane. The doctor thought it would make him feel better to know that they hadn't suffered. It didn't.

Sojo and Soba came to get him when he was released. They didn't speak much. Just comforting each other when it was warranted while trying to slowly move forward in life. Jesse moved in with his grandparents after that. He occasionally received mail or packages from his american grandparents, but they couldn't visit. Not with their wages, and his soba was terrified of flying. The next few years were dulled and monotonous. He used smiles and deflection as a way to hide his pain. The pain of having someone so close to you gone without so much as an 'I love you', only a simple 'see you when you get back!'. The kind of thing that doesn't go away. No matter how much you'd like to forget. But sometimes you could help others not deal with that pain. So, he enrolled in PSA. Using his past as personal reasoning for justice. Making sure no one else would have to learn that kind of sharp pain.... at least if he could help in some way...he could make his parent's proud from wherever they were now, and maybe that would be enough to move on from their deaths.
While you won't get rejected for this, I do want to warn you this is pretty overdramatic. There is a lot of drama and wastes the potential having living parents brings with it, and it doesn't appear to have any actual pay-off in the character's personality or any such traits. Again, this is not to say this backstory won't get approved, but a suggestion to really consider whether you really want that drama.

Oh. It's basically like you know when you get in a car accident you have a chance to hit your head and go unconscious? That's basically it. He woke up in an ambulance after being carried in. They drove him to the hospital afterwards. I'm sorry for being unclear. I'll fix that
