Sometimes, you have to fight...

Some things in history are bound to repeat itself. Let me tell you the story of the city of River Chime and the charming enclave off its port aptly named Outreach Island. The name of the isle has changed since then, permanently branding it with its dark history. Outreach Island was a prosperous place full of technical advances, scientific research, and superior education. But that was before the nuclear reactor at the core of the island had a major meltdown, causing widespread chaos for the Islanders. A mass exodus to the port city River Chime was an immediate effect, but the damage was already done. Thousands upon thousands of lives were lost from radiation poison, fires, and from the general chaos. The ones who survived the ordeal will always have the memories of their lost ones burned into their memories.

Sometimes, you have to run...

Since the loss of Outreach Island, River Chime has been a constant economic struggle to support the refugees. Because of the declining economy, many people were left homeless and in need. Under these conditions, it was an easy transition to a life of crime. Overcrowding in prisons became a huge issue and as a political ploy, the mayor of River Chime, at the time, decided to make use of the radioactive island. Through the mayor's pressure, Outreach Island was renamed to Outcast Island and hardened criminals were sent there in exile to live out the remainder of their short lives. Of course, River Chime dropped off food and other things to survive, but that was hardly anything to help fight against the radiation that still poisoned the lands, the overgrowth, and newly found deadly creatures manipulated by the poisoning. There was no survival expectancy among any of the hardened criminals... But there were some that survived. Sickly and deranged, possibly, but they are all out there, waiting for their chance to seek revenge on the people who sent them there. And they soon would get their chance.

But there is nowhere to hide.

Fast forward to present day. The many survivors of the Outreach Island meltdown have grown old and more than likely have passed on. But the legacy lives within the hearts of their offspring. Because of the radiation they were each exposed to, many of the children developed... unique skills. Superpowers. Anywhere between super strength and telekinesis. And they weren't the only ones. The criminals that were placed on the island in the last 5 years have also shown signs of superpowers. With the crime rates down and their economy bursting, River Chime only faces one problem: overpopulation. Scientists have been working on a solution to make Outcast Island livable once again, and they have done it. But with the super-powered convicts that live there now, there is no way for the mayor to begin rebuilding the island. That is where the Heroes come in. The Heroes are super-powered volunteers that are going to the island to exterminate the convicts by any means. Some volunteers may disagree with murdering the convicts, but that was the orders. What is going to happen to the Heroes when they are met with foes who aren't ready to be hunted?

Outreach Island was a prosperous place full of technical advances, scientific research, and superior education.

Rules I am not going to be a dictator about this really, but I need to lay out a few ground rules before we jump into the fun!
1.) All RPNation's rule not only applies- but will be enforced. Please review them if you are unsure.
2.) One power per character and try not to take another person's power if they have already claimed it. Some overlap is expected.
3.) No God-moding at all.
4.) Make sure your character has weaknesses. No one is perfect. No one can use their powers forever.
5.) There are a few OP powers that will not be allowed: Time control of any kind, extreme mind control (strong suggestions and things like pheromone control is okay) I might add more as time goes on.
6.) Drama is encouraged but please chat with me and the group that it will affect before just jumping to it.
7.) HAVE FUN!!!

Jenson Blake Dowdy
{ Squad Leader / Super Strength / Tagged: HaruAketchi HaruAketchi GamerCarrot GamerCarrot Shnuydude Shnuydude }
Jenson swayed with the rocking boat as it neared the overgrown island full of various of criminals on board. It was going to be dangerous for both the convicts and the heroes who volunteered to clear out the mess. The orders from his higher ups were clear. Kill the suspects on the island and return only when the place was safe for the other crews to clean up. He didn't know of all the convicts that remained on that island. Most of the information was sealed tightly for no eyes to ever see. So despite the crime the committed to be sent to this island, he would have to execute them without any mercy. The idea didn't sit well with him and he was trained to follow orders. He clenched his teeth, breaking the unlit cigarette that hung loosely from his lips. His team was always warning him that it would kill him one day, but he survived the poison that ran through his veins from day one. He wasn't afraid of cigarettes. He tossed out the remains of it to the sea and glanced back over the faces of the 'heroes' who volunteered to risk their lives to kill convicted criminals. He used the term the mayor labeled them- heroes- loosely. He didn't feel like a hero, he felt like a murderer. His eyes scanned the concentrated face of some, the innocent faces of others. Some of these people, maybe most of them, won't be returning. He hoped they understood the risk they were putting themselves through.

Jen cleared his voice loudly to gain everyone's attention. He was the youngest squad leaders who was picked to lead these people to the island. They were the second to breach the surface, the first being well equipped police officers to scout the lands- all mutants. They still haven't heard back from those men. But being young had its downfalls and many people believe he was chosen to be leader and sent out second was more bodies to sacrifice. Jenson would not believe that. He was smart, resourceful, and he wouldn't let his men die senselessly. Once everyone turned their attention to him, he spoke clearly with a deep timbre to his voice. "Everyone here has volunteered to eliminate the on-going threat that is the convicts and other hostlies making their home on Outcast Island. This is to ensure easily transition for the renovations to the island to make it habitable for humans. On behalf of the mayor of River Chime, I want to express the deep gratitude to you all for doing this for you city and country. For your service, you will all be awarded for your bravery once we return to River Chime." He narrowed his cat-like eyes as he finished the scripted part of his speech. "Rather, if, you return. There is a possibility you have just signed your life away for this task. For that I am sorry. I want to be frank with you all despite what my commander believes is right. He doesn't think you should all know, but he aren't the first people to come to the island. Another group was sent before us and has not gotten back to head quarters. It is safe to assume that they have all perished or at least most have. Furthermore, I will go out on a limb that the convicts, if not all, most of them have connected the dots that we are hunting them. Be on guard at all times. Do not trust anyone except those you see on this boat. We have been given orders to kill on sight any hostile." He hesitated, clenching his teeth for a moment before continuing his speech. "I will let you all decide the risk factor. We cannot leave until the risk has been eliminated. When we breech the shore, I want everyone to stick close by. We have to swim to shore because the boat will not dock and be overcome. We are on our own. We will all patrol a 50 foot perimeter out before meeting back on the shore for camp. You will wait for further instruction from then on. Any questions?"

Avery Claire Thompson
{ Medical Personal / Blood Healer / Tagged: Heroes }
Avery watched the waves as it rocked the boat to and fro. She didn't think it was possible to get sick since she was a blood healer, but she wasn't liking the sea as much as she thought she would. Sea sickness wasn't uncommon for normal people, but she wasn't normal so it didn't make any sense to her. She sighed, hanging her head over the side and shutting her eyes. She knew she had to do this. She was terrified, but she knew she absolutely couldn't back down. That only became more clear when Jenson, their leader, began to speak. They were getting awarded to murder people! It was ghastly to say the least. But she didn't come here just to kill off these people in cold blood. She was a healer; not a murderer. She came on this trip with one purpose, and one purpose only. She was going to save her sister Rowan from this hunt. She didn't know how exactly she was going to do it. There was bound to be some chaos she could sneak around in but there was no way she was letting her sister perish. She was a criminal but she did what she had to so they both could survive. It should be her rotting on that dreaded island, not her sister. But here she was, worried about some silly sea sickness. She paled considerably and glanced over at her neighbors. It was likely some of them would die. It was likely that she too would pass on. But at least she tried to save the only family she had left. She clenched his fist and look back to the leader as he finished up his speech. She wouldn't let the wounded die here either. She didn't mind healing them as long as they didn't kill Rowan. The instructions seemed clear enough. They had a lot of ground to cover and not much time. He didn't assign groups, which meant it was up to them. Perhaps she should follow him. But she doubted he would let her hold on to her sister, no matter how much she convinced him. So that meant she would have to find someone who looked gullible or easy to slip away from. But who? Another jerk of the boat caused her stomach to lurch but she forced herself to not tuck tail and vomit over the edge of the boat. A sheen of sickly sweat broke out across her forehead and she gripped a hand on her loose fitting shirt.

Rowan Elaine Thompson
{ Wild Card- Class B / Phasing / Tagged: Open }
Running. She was running for her life. Always running. Rowan didn't expect her 'peaceful' life to be disrupted by a hail of gunfire. The convicts that occupied this island were no saints. It wasn't uncommon to find dead bodies of other criminals freshly slaughtered by their own kind. It wasn't surprising since they were monsters after all. But Rowan didn't harm anyone who wasn't asking for it. She kept to herself on this island and never made a friend. She had been there a while now too and it was hard being this lonesome. It was all her sister's fault. Rage filled her petite body as she phased through a tree. She kept running while her thought drifted to the chubby face of her younger sister. It had been too long since she seen Avery and that was a good thing. But now she wouldn't ever see her sister. Because her kind was being hunted. It happened in the dead of night while she was sleeping in a tree. Men, so many men, flooded the shores on two boats. They came guns blazing, killing people she had seen over and over again. Then they turned their attention to her. She phased through most of the bullets, but one had nailed her right in the calf. It certainly made running hard. She felt like they were tracking her like a wounded deer they planned on killing later. That thought was the only thing propelling her forward. It kept her running because her life depended on it. She saw an old building, decayed from the fires and lack of maintenance. She didn't want to duck into there, but she had no choice. She was so tired and need to catch her breath. She ran into the opening, a crack the size of her, and hurried to the back. She collapsed on the floor and tried to slow her breathing. Instead, her body began to shake and tears streamed down her face. She cursed her weakness as she released the dam of her sobs.

Harrison Michael Knowles
AKA Garret Striker

{ Mentally Deranged- Class E / Metal Manipulator / Tagged: Open }
Harrison was humming softly to himself without a care in the world. Scattered around him was bullets that were aimed at him. They all came from the same gun, but the energy he used to have this little fun was tremendous. He wasn't injured, of course. He wouldn't allow himself to get that tired. He walked slowly to his target, who was dead on the ground. It wasn't a clean kill. There was no fun in that. He let some of the bullets pierce his fingers and other non-vital places. He didn't let any bullets hit his uniform, though it was soaked in his owners blood. When he got to the man, he flipped him onto his back where the kill shot between his eyes was evident. A wicked smiled formed on his face as he leaned over the body to grab his name tag. Garret Striker. He like it. He said it out loud to get used to the name. He reached in his pockets to see if he had anything else on him. A wallet. There was very little money it but there was something much better buried under a credit card. A picture of a woman and small girl. He ran his slender finger down the woman's smiling face. "I have such a beautiful wife," he cooed to himself. His eyes dropped to the little girl and he licked his lips. "What do you say, my darling little girl, are you ready to see daddy again?" He chuckled as he shoved his new found wallet into his back pocket. The back pocket of Garret Striker. He had taken a less bloody uniform from a different corpse, so he looked the part. He pushed his hair out of his eyes and slicked it back like Garret had it. Now he was him, father of a lovely girl and husband to a beautiful wife. He continued to whistle as he left the body behind.

Garret was staying in a little shelter he made himself. It was quint but it was his own. He picked up a piece of wood he was craving and continued on his merriment on the wood. Beside him was at least seven figurines of humans, all were him at one point. Now he would have to make one for his dearest new kill. Below those figures were other creatures he saw in the forest. One was a two headed dog carrying a piece of deer in his mouth. The creatures here had mutated like them and were almost as dangerous as the criminals themselves. Garret didn't seem to mind. He continued to whistle happily as he began craving the face he was just staring at. Vacant. Dead. Cold. Just how he liked them.

Luca Winter
{Wild Card - Class B / Radiation Reliant / Tagged: P pushed (Avery) }

It was loud, but muffled. The sounds were like that of a TV playing in another room, but it seemed to be getting closer. This is not a dream. Pressure from cold, hard stone could be felt on his back and arms, but there was another feeling. A constant throb was flowing up from his left leg, pain. Luca struggled, forcing his numb body from the floor. Smaller fragments slid onto the ground, mostly freeing his arms. He pushed hard with his palms against the wet floor, feeling every gravel-like debris indent his soft flesh. With the weight lifted a few inches, Luca began shimmying to one side. The large flat stone began to slide until it finally slammed an edge onto the floor. This seemed worthy of a sigh, but he could not muster the air to even do so. 'Why am I alive?', Luca thought as he freed himself totally. A new sound filled the darkness around him, someone sobbing. Forgetting the pain from his leg, he let his eyes wander until they spotted light from above. Dim light had shown through the small cracks and holes in the ceiling. In desperation and curiosity, Luca tried to speak. Nothing. Undeterred, he wet his throat with a gulp, and let out a weak "Hello?"

Felix Grant Dowdy
{Military Personal / Aerokinesis / Tagged: P pushed }

Felix had been relaxing for most of the boat ride, it was peaceful for the most part, but it was taking too long so now he was just getting restless. When he finally saw the island he smiled with relief, it meant he would finally have something to do. Jenson began the motivational speech about how awesome we are for doing this, our country loves us, and the ridiculous reward for murdering just because we were told to. He just closed his eyes and pretended to take a nap like he usually does whenever his brother rants. Felix was more concerned about what he was even going to do when he got there, he wont be able to avoid killing anyone forever, but he couldn't just let the people around him slaughter others without even understanding the crimes committed. He sighed in frustration and pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind, he'll just cross that bridge when the time comes. He turned and looked to the pink haired woman sitting near him, she really didn't seem like she was enjoying the ride. He leaned over and smirked "First time on a boat? You'll feel better if you just let it out." He thought he might as well make conversation until they reach the shore, couldn't hurt to get to know the people he has to work with either.

Olive Darlina
(Wildcard - Class D - Adoptive Muscle memory - Tagged: open)

The last gunshot echoed through the now quiet street or what was left of a street. Olive walked over to the trio of bodies to admire her handiwork. The girl used her foot to turn over the decapitated head. A woman in her late forties, that wouldn't do. There was too much blood on the neckline of the uniform. Using that one would be too suspicious. The next victim was a man in his twenties with chunks of eye goop decorating his shirt thanks to the bullet that went straight through his eye socket. His uniform wasn't too messy but would take a while to adjust it to her small frame, though he did have some usable bullets. The last victim was a woman in her twenties with a uniform that didn't have a suspicious amount of blood thanks to the bullet going cleanly through her head. Perfect.

Olive grabbed the arm of the woman and dragged her into the nearby house where she could get to work. She had settled herself in the house for a few days now it was a decent house very worn down from the elements as well as fires but for the most part it had one room which was together enough to be semi-livable. She took a moment to examine the dreary one story home she had been squatting in. Everything about the Island was dull and depressing. The girl ran her fingers over the walls the peeling paint highlighted the cracks that ran up the original bare walls like lightning. Her eyes drifted further up to the ceiling that was falling in on itself with wires hanging from holes like snakes ready to bite with electricity. The black mold danced in the water damaged corners almost looking like flowers in the spring. Olive stepped back from the wall only to almost fall into one of the holes where the floor had given way, creaking in protest as she walked around it. The broken glass of the windows were scattered across the ground. Leaving the frames to be covered with papers so no one could see in. The living room was decorated with her sewing supplies made up of random things she had found around the island. There was a lone couch in the middle of the room its cushions and fabric had been torn up leaving only the hard base. It seemed like the house she was currently in used to belong to a seamstress due to the treasure trove of sewing supplies she found. It may have just been a few needles and some more thread but it brightened her day.

"Sincerest apologies" She spoke with a hint of sarcasm as she pulled the pack from the dead woman's' back and began searching through it. A couple of rations packs, a half-empty water bottle as well as a flashlight. It wasn't much but it was better than nothing. Olive turned back to the dead body and began to strip off its uniform before putting a torn shirt and pants back on it so it looked like a dead convict. She stuffed her usual outfit in a little hole where she could come back to it if needed. She pulled the walled out of her pocket and stuffed it in the hole with the rest of her stuff, she needed to make sure she wouldn't be recognized. With everything in order, she slipped out of the building and started on her way. She was quite confident in her plan with how many soldiers were sent in the beginning there was no way it could go wrong. She would set up camp near the docs and wait for the next lot of soldiers. They were bound to send more with how little is left of the island now.

Day 1
The CVS was empty. No people, and heavily looted by his enemies, but a few things had been overlooked. Some bandages were left on the counter, the nearby cash register torn open and the supplies inside stolen. Not what he was looking for but bandages were good to have. Prepared for anything. Yeah, that was a good reason.

Surprisingly, there was some toothpaste to be found, a decent amount, most of it the basic mint flavour, as well as a toothbrush that hadn't been opened. The little detour was already proving advantageous. Márcio needed now was some deodorant. That would be harder to find. The hut was a mess, trashed, and nothing that remained was where it should be. It was as if someone had made a mess for the sake of doing so. Maybe they had. No blood that he could see so that ruled out a struggle. No bodies.

He shivered at the thought. The memory. Stumbling across the remains of someone ravaged by those monsters.

3 Months Ago

Márcio hefted about several large duffel bags on his person. He hoped that his armor and weapons were shipped here safely and without trouble. The huge man lurked in the back of the group, a half-bored, half-irritated look etched into his face. The large man did not care much for the sun on his skin, nor for the group of people he was subjected to traveling with. It didn't help that he was in a sleeveless shirt and shorts as the sun slowly burned his skin, only somewhat alleviated by the coolness of the strong wind created by the dropship.

Márcio had no interest in the other people in the group, as of the moment, nor in talk. He half listened to the speech given by Mr. Nunes while one ear was accompanied by an ear bud connected to his phone, listening to some tune provided by his Spotify music app. Tired amber eyes looked about him to briefly memorize the appearances of the other students as they hustled and bustled about. The only thing that piqued Márcio interest in particular was the mention of food. Now that was something he could enjoy. Hopefully, enough would be made to sate his mighty appetite.

Márcio waited behind a frost-colour-haired girl (or who he assumed was a girl), and waited to find out where he was rooming. It was unfortunate that he would be bunkered up with someone else, in his mind. He wasn't much for other people, especially strangers. But, he supposed, it could potentially work out, depending on the person. His mind shifted to other things, hoping that the campus would have a place for him to work out...

"Father did ya miss me? Been locked up a while, I got caught for what I did but took it all in style. Laid to rest all my confessions I gave way back when, now I'm versed in so much worse, so I am back again..." Mydahlia sang to herself, her cherry red lips curved upwards at the corners as she listened to the rebellious song. Her blood red hair was tied back in a high ponytail, a couple of strands sticking to the sides of her sweaty face as she sauntered down a completely devastated sidewalk, her slender boots stepping over each of the chunks of concrete that stuck up from the tainted earth. Her hair swayed from side to side while she walked, an earbud in each ear as she glanced around and made sure not to step in the pools of blood that were scattered around the area, coming from the bodies of her fellow convicts and the patrol that had arrived not long ago. Most of the corpses had already been looted by other convicts, but the first patrol Lia had come across - and was consequently the end of - had a set of headphones and an MP3 player. It was old, but it was better than what the island had to provide, which was close to nothing. The dead man also had some 9mm rounds and an automatic rifle, but he had cleared the clip he had and didn't come with any spares, thus proving to be useless for the redheaded woman.

A sigh escaped Lia's lips as she continued through the worn down city, keeping her steps upbeat and light on the irradiated grounds of Outcast Island. The island not only changed in relation to the population that lived there prior to the accidents, but it already caused changes in the young female during her time there, so she had to become used to its exotic nature. A tingling in her fingers reminded her of the powers she now exhibited, and a glance around the area made her realize that she was not the only one in the small town. It's unsafe to walk out in the open as obviously as she had been, but Lia was more than capable of taking care of herself and making it look like she was never there to begin with (not that anyone here would care, unless perhaps more forces were sent). Nonetheless, the slender female made her way to some nearby brush, keeping her scarlet gaze on the town and anyone nearby. She remained attentive as a couple gunshots sounded nearby and a female came into view, dragging what appeared to be one of the members of the patrol that came to the island a couple hours prior. The female had long brown hair tied back with a ribbon and pale skin, the majority of it covered by clothing that would not be seen in any fashion show in existence. Lia smirked slightly as she watched the petite female drag the body into a nearby building before moving in the direction of the shore, keeping in mind that the female was undoubtedly using the soldier for something more than whatever small items she had on her person.

Her footsteps remained light as she went up and down forested hills on the island, completely overrun with the radioactive growth of plants that looked anything but normal. Her music continued to play through her ears as she traveled, once more happening upon an area concentrated with cadavers. They all appeared to be pickpocketed as well, which was a bummer for the exploring scientist. Lia detected movement out of the corner of her eye, but it was just a small, notably harmless creature of the island passing through, curious of the wreckage that lay before it. "Me too, little guy. I wonder who survived this shit." Lia muttered to herself, her voice soft and calm, despite the array of bodies that littered the area before her. Continuing on, Lia made a mental note to go back to the area where she saw the brunette female. The sweat at that point became less stifling and made the female glad her outfit could be adjusted when needed. It normally had long sleeves, but the zipper along the side of her outfit allowed her to slip out of the top half of her outfit and wrap it around her waist, letting her cool her upper half off. If you're assuming she's walking around in a bra for a top, you'd be correct. Despite the black material, the exposure of her skin allowed her to cool off faster in the island heat, despite her walking so much. It didn't take long for her to get to her destination, seeing that the female was rather limber and could walk pretty long distances. A couple of miles more and the terrain turned from coarse dirt with thick patches of grass to blackened sand, alerting the female that she'd be reaching the water soon. However, one glance towards the horizon caused the female to quickly hide as she noticed a ship in the distance. Anything from the mainland was never good news, and that meant the convicts - however many of them were still left - were in for some deep shit.

"Fuck."

ADDRESSED: No one in particular. | MENTIONED: Maree Maree and boat people :3 | STATUS: Singing -> Watching Olive -> Heading to Shore -> Watching Boat | MOOD: Cheerful (for the most part) -> "We're fucked." | LOCATION: Old Town (let's name it Windvale or something, since they should've had named cities and towns before the whole radioactive shit went down) | INVENTORY: Glock G19 w/ 13 rounds, switchblade, MP3 player & headphones, and her brush/powder. | NOTES: Boop.

"Almost out.." Ross stared plainly into his cigarette carton, having taken the second to last one, and placed it between his lips. He deftly shoved the carton into his pocket, and replaced it with a lighter, setting the tobacco ablaze. Ross leaned over the edge of the boat, facing the water. He was starting to regret his decision to come here, in the face of military trained personnel one couldn't help but feel outclassed.

Ross absentmindedly strokes the hilt of his katana, when he hears the brass on the boat begin to speak. Ross can feel himself subconsciously letting his pheromones seep into his veins, slowly deepening his perception and allowing him to analyze jen's speech word by word. As the man continues to speak, the faint crackling of Ross's burning cigarette could be heard to anyone listening hard enough.

"Any questions?"

"Yeah, when'll we break land? And is there any chain of command we should answer to?"

Elvira watched as the waves of the water hit the boat, looking off into the distance waiting to arrive at the island. As Jenson spoke she turned her attention down to the chain in her hand, as her fingers run over its metal she could see small sparks light up from her touch. In her mind she didn't want to kill any of the inhabitants but undoubtedly she had no choice in the matter , orders were orders even if she didn't like them. She looked around at her fellow companions she knew a few faces just from the military, unfortunately their names were unclear to her but the one face she didn't recognise was the civilian who was joining them she felt kind of bad for the guy being brought in with no military experience would be hard for a person.

She looked up at Jen and he spoke, when he eventually asked if there were any questions she stayed silent letting others ask questions since the only question she had was whether or not they really had to kill all of these people but she already knew the answer and deep down it hurt to think that there maybe a chance there will be a lot of blood on her hands from this, if she wasn't killed that is.

Alex looked down at the dead soldier. Everything good had already been looted by either those who killed him, or other scavengers. But the body proved the stories he had heard, there were people from the mainland coming over. He squat down and ran a hand over the dead man’s face. “Ah, you poor fool. You got separated from your group only to die out here alone. A pity really. Anyways, let’s see what I’m left with.” He rummaged through the corpse only to confirm what he had previously assumed.

A gurgling throaty groan emerged from his mouth as he stood up. Just his luck, missed out on something exciting. At least some of the soldiers were still alive hiding somewhere. The crazies on the island couldn’t have killed all of them. Someone must have kept at least one alive for interrogation purposes. Or other less amiable ones.

As he was about to saunter off, movement from the horizon caught his eye. It was brief, but it was definitely a person. An old pharmacy store it seemed. The letters had long fallen off, but the tan lines remained. He smiled as he took off in that direction. Looks like he’d get to have some fun sooner than he imagined.

Even from the boat he could see the great beasts winding their way through the broken buildings and to the shoreline. They must have been looking for prey. How could something originally so small get so large? It must have been close to the center of the radiation when everything went to shit. Alaster pulled his leather bound journal from his bag and begun to sketch the creature though he would have to get closer to catch the fine details. He had brought himself a new journal just for this trip so he could record his findings. Jenson was going on about how they might not make it back but he didn't mind to much as long as he got to finish his journal first. Dying would just make his work Posthumous. As the best artists are often recognized when they are dead making his work more popular than it would be if he lived. It might have been a bit morbid for him to think that way but he didn't care that much.

When Jensen asked if anyone had any questions he paused his sketching and raised his hand. He waited a bit for everyone else to ask their questions before he spoke. "What makes you think we are actually going to go back to some large handsome rewards. What's stopping them from deciding we need to die as well as the criminals? I mean the whole point of this is to get rid of the dangers to society. And also seeing as we too are mutants with freaky powers that could turn on the country and destroy everything" he asked, tilting his head a little as he awaited the captains words. It might not have been the right thing to say because if the captain couldn't figure out a quick comeback to the males words then everyone on board would probably go into mindless panic. In his mind they should have already thought of that possibility but no everyone has his mind.

Jenson's attention was brought to the head of the boat momentarily as the gruff, military trained captain motioned that they would be approaching the drop-off point very soon. He nodded his head with a curt jerk and turned his attention back to his squadron. The people who looked back to him were... a little worrisome to say the least. His eyes connected with his brother's own solid blue ones and he quickly looked away. If it were up to him, he would have never let his younger brother into his squadron. Or anywhere near this island. He was terrible at showing affection and that went doubly true for his little brother Felix. He simply commanded him like his leader and assumed he knew best. It caused somewhat of a rift there but that was how he liked it. His only family didn't have to depend on him to survive. So if he died here on this mission- Felix would live on and find his happiness. That was unless he died here on this god-forsaken island. He didn't speak to him before they entered the boat. He couldn't. And now they both were on a boat facing imminent death. His attention was taken away almost immediately by a male's voice speaking up to ask a question. He was surprised anyone had a question. The another one voiced his own question- this one was a pretty boy with a sketchpad in his hand. He gave him a once over quickly and mentally gave him a week before he would break. He seemed to clean cut for a mission like this. He never liked cops and this one reeked of "justice". His military training didn't leave much room in terms of justice. Perhaps he didn't like the male because he had some freedoms that he did not share. Nevertheless- it was time to get a few things straight right off the bat. His posture was domineering and commanded the attention of the others. The muscles in his body were tense and rigid. "Let's get one thing straight here guys. While we are on this island- I am your squad leader. I am in charge of you. If we get separated- you find your way back to me. If I die- you follow my second in command- Felix Dowdy." The name of his brother sounded weird in his mouth. It was odd to think he may die and leave his brother in this mess. But he didn't trust anyone else with the job. He was trained and skilled. "If you disobey my command- I will assume you are with the enemy." It was tough- but there were too many risks for a mission like this. "As for this supposed award- if you are here for that.. you might as well stay on this boat. I was told to tell you all that little speech before entering on the island. The only award you should expect is your life." His eyes narrowed at the white-haired detective. "And for your little theories- I have no time for that. If you suspect foul play is involved, then by all means stay. But I won't tolerate you putting doubt in the heads of my soldiers. It is already hard enough what we must do." The male struck a chord with him. His theories are something that has crossed his mind before- though he would never admit such a thing aloud. He was supposed to support these people and lead them to their deaths. Perhaps he wouldn't let all of them die. Perhaps he would die. But all the investigating he will be doing will not be in front of these men and women. Not if he wanted their undivided trust. This detective will be trouble indeed. "I clearly misspoke when I asked if there were any questions. What I mean to say is get your shit ready because it is time to go. We are jumping off the side and swimming ashore. If you don't want to die or can't swim, stay on the boat and don't come back." He adjusted the pack on his pack that was filled with barely anything. They were told not to bring much stuff in case they failed their mission. Their job wasn't to arm the enemy. He stepped over to the railing and looked over. He didn't jump. He stared back at the people- waiting for their reactions. Waiting to see those who would stay behind... and save their own lives.

Blinking against the cramping pain happening in her stomach region, Avery attempted to breathe evenly through her nose and mouth. A masculine voice sounded off beside her somewhere and it took a moment to register his words in her mind. Just let it go? What did he mean by that? She lifted her wide eyes to stare up into his and was taken aback by a sudden familiarity behind those white locks of hair. He... did he look like someone she knew? Before she could figure it out, her stomach took another twist as the boat hit a choppy wave. It finally dawned on her what he meant. Let it go as it... She couldn't finish the thought. She jumped forward and gripped the edge of the boat seconds before her will gave out and her stomach emptied its contents. Her shoulders shook with the effort and tears burned at her eyes unshed. She slumped forward and slid slowly down the side of the boat until her knees hit the damp floor. She kept her eyes shut tight but the pains in her stomach eased since there wasn't much left in there now. She addressed the male looming beside her without any clue as to what he was thinking or doing. Her voice came out a little more raspy than she liked but at least her tone seemed light despite the vomit she just expelled. "You were right. I feel much better. I think I will be much better once I get off this boat." Her mind quickly jerked to the idea of jumping into the water and swimming to shore and a chill fell over her. The water was gross. The waves choppy and foreboding. She didn't like the water- there were too many unknowns about the water. "My name is Avery. Sorry about... the uh... mess. I never suspected that I would be seasick." And that was the honest truth. She didn't move to look at him. She found that kneeling in that position made her feel a bit safer. "Excuse me for not shaking your hand. I think if I let go of this- I may float away." However, just as she said that Jenson's words hit her. What she was contemplating on doing could end up getting her killed. Not only that... They were about to leave. She attempted to cover her whimper as she straightened up to a standing position. She wanted to pace to gather the strength to jump but the fear of getting sick again on the rocking boat was still fresh. She attempted a smile at the kind male to hide her discomfort. "Looks like we need to go." She wasn't afraid. She was brave... Who was she trying to convince? Before anyone jumped off the railing into the sickening inky colored water, Avery cleared her throat to get everyone's attention. Sadly, it was a weak attempt and she didn't think anyone except the male close to her heard it. She tried again- speaking somewhat loudly for all to hear. "Everyone, I am the medic aboard this ship. Let me advise you to try not to swallow the water or let it into your eyes." With that, she took a step back to let the others surge forward. She was hesitating in fear. She was afraid. Her eyes widened slightly as she looked into the murky depths just below them. Taking a deep breath, she turned to face the people left on the boat. "I- uh. I will go last. Just to make sure there isn't anyone injured by the jump. Don't worry about me. I can swim."

These tears... Who was she crying for? Her life that was over? Her sister who betrayed her? The helplessness that drowned her like waves? Rowan struggled to catch her breath between the tears that streamed down her dirty face. The pain from the shot was easily ignored at this point. She pressed her palms hard against her eyes in an attempt to stop the floodgates. The panic attack was slowly disappearing from her body and her heart was starting to slow down. The sobs turned to hiccups as her hands dropped from her eyes. When she did so, she took in her surroundings. The building was... okay. The place was somewhat livable. She could stay for the night and leave at the crack of dawn- before anyone knew she was there. All hopes were dashed at a single word. Hello. Someone else was sheltered by this building. Stupid. Stupid! How could she be so stupid and let her guard down? She hobbled a step back as the wound on her leg intensified. She gritted her teeth and faced the direction the voice came from. It was dark and her vision still wasn't adjusted from all the crying. Hell, she knew she looked crazy with red, puffy eyes. No matter. She was not planning on staying long. She lifted the handmade bow with an arrow readied but she doubted it would do much in this circumstance. "Who's there? What do you want?" Her voice came out strong despite the fear lodged deep within her. Her heart was racing again and she desperately wanted to flee. Like she always had.

Harrison was humming softly to himself without a care in the world. Scattered around him were bullets that were aimed at him. He didn't let any bullets hit his uniform, though it was soaked in his owner's blood. When he got to the man, he flipped him onto his back where the kill shot between his eyes was evident. A wicked smile formed on his face as he leaned over the body to grab his name tag. Garret Striker. He liked it. He said it out loud to get used to the name. He reached into his pockets to see if he had anything else on him. A wallet. There was very little money it but there was something much better buried under a credit card. A picture of a woman and small girl. He ran his slender finger down the woman's smiling face.
"I have such a beautiful wife," he cooed to himself. His eyes dropped to the little girl and he licked his lips. "What do you say, my darling little girl, are you ready to see daddy again?" He chuckled as he shoved his newfound wallet into his back pocket.

One was a two-headed dog carrying a piece of deer in his mouth. The creatures here had mutated like them and were almost as dangerous as the criminals themselves. Garret didn't seem to mind. He continued to whistle happily as he began craving the face he was just staring at. Vacant. Dead. Cold. Just how he liked them.

The sound of the person above moving was barely audible, but their words were clear. It was a woman, Luca could tell that much. She spoke in an intimidating manner. Nothing was making sense to him. The sharp pain in his left leg had nearly vanished, he was surrounded by darkness, and there was a strange woman on the floor above him. Strange. Strange, but not a dream. Bending his neck back slightly, Luca wet his throat again with a gulp and spoke with a slight hesitance, "I.. I am Luca Winter. I believe I am on the floor below yours... And.. I don't know what you mean. I don't.." He thought about what she asked once more while pausing, before continuing, "I- I just need help. Where am I? Is this Outreach Island?" His memories felt intact. The last thing that Luca could remember was laughing as his very expressive lab assistant, Jones, spilled coffee on his new coat. The man went nuclear, yelling all kinds of nonsense, while running back and forth. Luca was in tears at the meltdown.

Alaster Sterling
(Military trained - Water manipulation - tagged: Open )

Alaster chuckled softly at how bitterly the captain replied to his theory. “You can’t say it hasn’t crossed your mind,” he said more to himself as he shoved the journal into his bag. He was just happy that the thing was waterproof but he wasn’t too keen on getting into the water. But then again if there are giant monsters on the island would there be giant monsters in the water? There was only one way to find out. Taking the medics advice he shut his eyes and blocked his nose before jumping into the water. When he resurfaced he noticed that he was the only one to jump in so far. “The water is quite lovely you really should give it a try” he spoke while trying to prevent water from entering his mouth. The water was quite chilly and burning his skin though he wasn’t sure if it was from the temperature or if it was the water actually burning his skin. “I'm gonna meet you on land I don’t know how good it is to stay in this stuff” he called up to the others before swimming the rest of the way to land.

A good few minutes later Alaster was pulling himself out of the water and examining his skin. There weren't any signs of a rash or anything though he was slightly pink, though that could just be due to him being cold from the water. He took a moment to survey the island a bit better now that he was close up and not on the boat. He figured that it would take a while for everyone to gather so he sat himself down by a rather interesting looking plant a begun to sketch it.

Olive Darlina
(Wildcard - Class D - Adoptive Muscle memory - Tagged: open)

Olive had to duck behind a bit of rubble in order to avoid being seen by another convict that was just walking around. What she was doing was extremely risky firstly because it makes the other convicts ten times more aggressive towards her. But also because they might not even believe her story when she told them. She carefully poked her head out and looked around being so cautious all the time was quite annoying. When she had determined that the coast was indeed clear she slipped out of her hiding space. It was only a few minutes walk to where she believed they would pull up so she decided to go over her story. She had been planning this for weeks after finding the information out from one of her victims. They were quite easy to crack when tortured it was almost pitiful. She had caught as many soldiers as she could alive so she could get enough information about their mission to make her act more believable. It the first proper mission she had been assigned to. She had no idea what she was getting herself into as they didn't really give them too much information. they weren't allowed to bring a lot of supplies with them out of fear they would be arming the enemy. Ha. Look how well that worked out for them. On her first day, half the soldiers were wiped out and almost all of her of her team. They had tried to kill one of those giant praying mantis beasts but it shot out liquid radiation, it was terrifying. Then came that actual convicts themselves.. There was no one left now... Just her. It was the perfect story she would probably cry a little bit maybe chuck in a sibling who she had to watch die just for a little more zest.

As soon as she reached the end of the beach she saw the boat. It looked rather large so there would be quite a few people but whether they actually all got off the boat of not was another thing. There was already one of them on land he looked like he was sketching one of the plants. Interesting. He must have swum across as the boat was a bit of a distance away. Were they all going to swim? now that would be interesting to watch. There were... Methods in place to make sure none of the Convicts tried to swim to freedom.

A glance of his bright blue eyes said everything he needed to communicate to the leader and everyone else on the boat. He understood his duty on that boat just as he understood everyone else's. Since he already knew Alaster, predicting his role on the mission was rather easy - the detective was going to investigate what was going on at Outcast Island, and possibly get to the bottom of the treasure mystery that was rumored to be on the island. The pink-haired girl on the boat, who obviously did not have experience being on a boat, was going to be their medic. She was equipped with bandages, no weapon, and evidently had no militaristic training of any sort, unlike the captain himself. The next person to catch his gaze was the smaller clone of the captain, save for his much longer hair. The two didn't seem quite that close, but Dimitri could always determine that later. The other girl on the boat had white-ish hair and was not much younger than he, similar to the rest of the crew on the boat, possibly by five or so years. Everyone appeared younger than him, but it was always good to have someone experienced on every team, and Dimitri figured he was the one for that role on this mission. A slight shrug to himself, Dimitri accepted the fact and stood on the boat immediately after the healer did. When she chose to wait for the others to exit the boat, Dimitri revealed a sly grin and shook his head, sighing audibly.

Alaster was the first to leave, driven by curiosity as usual. Not long after, Dimitri vaulted the edge of the boat and landed in the strangely colored waters, flinching slightly as he did so. No one else needed to know of his fear of the ocean. He gritted his teeth as the water splashed above his waist, but the tall male was not overcome by the water as much as Alaster had been. They were capable of standing in the water level they had ridden up to, but if the boat had gone any farther inland it would get caught in the current surrounding the island or worse - it would be banked and they would have no means of escape. This thought led Dimitri to wonder - who is going to protect the boat and keep the convicts from stealing it? Do we have any protective countermeasures? How can we even be sure that the convicts are a threat? A whirlwind of questions went through the thirty-two-year-old's mind as he looked back up at his temporary companions, gesturing towards the island. "Time to go, is it not?" The underlying Russian accent in his husky voice made his words rather attractive by themselves, urging his companions to jump in and accompany Alaster and him to the land deemed unknown by their small party. A gloved hand slicked back his black and blue hair with the radioactive water, making sure to keep it from entering his eyes, nose, or mouth. He heeded the healer's warning and turned to look at her, giving her a quick wink and a brief smile before following his previous acquaintance. "Wait up, Alaster! Do not have all of the fun without me!" He chuckled, trying to remain lighthearted about the whole situation. He was rather skilled at staying good-humored, despite his difficult past.

Felix turned away as the woman emptied her stomach, he wouldn't want anyone staring if it was him, he turned back to her and introduced himself as well, "Call me Felix, and don't worry about shaking my hand, i understand." He heard his brother speaking and frowned, he didn't understand why he would choose him for second in command, he never wanted a leadership position, and leaving him in charge if his brother died seemed like a horrible idea to him. He would much rather keep Jenson alive so he doesn't have to start leading people, the responsibility of everyone's lives on his shoulder and having everyone look to him for orders like he was always supposed to always know what to do just wasn't for him, the thought alone was already giving him a headache. Since it seemed like Avery was going last he gave her a little wave to say goodbye and walked over to his brother to get a word in before they jumped into the water. He stepped over the railing next to Jenson and frowned, "Second in command? Come on, we both know more than half the people on this boat would be better for that position." It was true, even the Medic who just puked her guts out could probably be a better leader then him, or maybe that guy with the Russian accent that just jumped off the boat could do it, anyone but himself would be fine by him. He was trying to convince himself not to worry even if he was stuck with the position, its not like mister super soldier was gonna kick the bucket anyways, especially if they stuck together.

Jenson Blake Dowdy
He Squad Leader / Super Strength / Tagged: Shnuydude Shnuydude - then the heroes }
Jenson watched as one by one his team jumped off the edge of the boat into the murky water below. Disgusting. The water seemed like slime at this angle and with each person who jumped into it, the inky water rippled uninvitingly. Tilting his head, he was about to jump in head first but the words of the medic stopped him. He needed to be careful before simply diving in. The water could weaken him and at this rate- he needed to be healthy for the team. It really got under his skin... the words of the detective still ran through his mind like a never-ending loop. Could he be sending these people to their inevitable deaths? Would it weigh on his conscience to see them die in this place? He refused to accept responsibility. These people knew what they were signing up for the moment they stepped onto this boat. The image of his brother entered his mind and quickly it turned into a morbid scene of death and dismemberment. He tightened his fists into balls and took a deep breath. Felix was a grown man. He wasn't the boy he watched hobble around in diapers and a goofy smile. When his brother was born, he watched over the small baby like a hawk. He took his responsibility as the older brother very seriously. But something happened between them. A riff- some tension that wasn't easily explainable. And now- he was simply the captain and his brother a member of his squadron. As if his name was called, Felix moved to stand next to his brother near the edge of the boat. His crimson eyes darted over to his face and it took him a moment to focus on his features. No one knew his eyesight was deteriorating. No one knew that he would be completely useless to them once that happened. The other male spoke up in his neutral male tone and informed him his feelings on taking control of the squadron when he passed. He never wanted to be a leader. Never wanted to take charge. But Felix was strong and capable. He just needed to see it for himself. A crooked smile formed on his sunkissed face as he slung a heavy arm around his brother's shoulders. "What are you talking about, Felix? You will do well in my place. You got the brains for it- you just need to use it." He took a moment to ruffle through his hair before moving away from him slightly. "And if it bothers you so much- just keep me alive." With that, he reached his gloved hand up to place a pair of goggles over his eyes. With his free hand, he reached out like he was going to wrap his arms around Felix's shoulders once again but this time, his hand wrapped around his nose and mouth. He smiled at his widened, shocked eyes and said in his most matter-of-fact tones, "well you heard the medic. Don't want any water going up your nose." With that, he jumped in with his brother at his side. When his body hit the water, he forced his head to reemerge past the surface as quickly as he could. The water smelled like rotting fish. He wanted to gag and it took him a moment to realize he was still gripping Felix's face while they floated there momentarily. He released him immediately but didn't speak a word to him. Instead, he started kicking his legs that were heavy with his camouflage pants. He was on now- completely aware of his surroundings and possible dangers. Everything on this island was trying to kill them.

Jenson swam ashore rather quickly despite his clothing and pack weighing him down. Stepped onto the sandy shores of the island and turned to see if Felix needed his help. He stopped himself from offering a hand to pull him out of the water. He didn't want the others to see him as playing favorites with his brother. And he didn't want the others to see his brother as weak. He pulled off his goggles and wiped off his face from the watery muck that accumulated. He glanced at everyone's faces to ensure everyone made it fine but he was missing one. The medic. Well, he knew the girl didn't have a gun- or at least he didn't think she had one. So before he addressed Avery herself, he turned his eyes to his ragtag team. "Everyone, listen up!" He exclaimed loudly. "Out here, we are all targets. We would like somewhat the element of surprise. So do NOT fire your guns unless it is an absolute emergency. Use everything here at your disposal. We have limited ammunition and guns are very loud." He didn't like the idea of not using his gun- he rather liked it- but it was the only way to ensure they would make it farther than the team before them. With that, he turned to face the boat and waved at the pink-haired girl still standing on the boat. Was there something wrong with her? But just as he thought that she jumped into the water. He sighed in relief. Then all hell broke loose.

The waves still lapped up the side of the boat as if it were trying to swallow it whole. Avery felt as if there was a cotton wad stuck in her throat as she stared worriedly into the opaque water. It seemed like there were shadows lurking beneath the surface threatening her if she dared to jump in. Shivering, her tentative glance was moved to the gruff captain he urged her to hurry up so he could get the hell out of there. She didn't blame him. Part of her wanted to stay on this big boat and sail back to the safety of River Chime. But she couldn't abandon her sister again. She nodded more determined this time and only hesitated for a moment to look at her team already swimming to the shore of the radiative island. Captain Dowdy was waving at her. She felt her face flush a bright crimson as she realized how much of a coward she must have looked like in that instance. She moved to the edge of the boat and clamped her eyes shut. She didn't worry about the water poisoning her or making her sick. Her blood prevented that from happening. She clamped her eyes shut tight because she was still afraid. She thrust herself forward and the water enveloped her in moments. Even before she resurfaced, the boat was already making it way back to River Chime's ports. She resurfaced and sucked in a panic breath before realizing the water was still dripping from her face. She coughed and nearly vomited again from the taste of it. Nevertheless, she was in the water. She did it. She grinned as she looked at her team on shore. She waved at them happily before she started doggy paddling in their direction. She said she could swim- she never said she could swim well. At least she could float. The motion of people jumping into the water arose the attention of a once sleeping giant. The creature, which was a much better description of the sea animal, had roughened scales the glistened black under the light. It was huge, at least 10 feet long and his teeth were pointed and sharp. As Avery got closer, smile still in place despite the smell that was alarmingly rancid, the fish made it slow inch towards her. The change was subtle but it was enough to slow her pace slightly to peer into the murky water. "Uh. guys?" She said loudly, trying to get their attention. Fear laced every word as she yelled out again. "Guys! I think there is something in the-" But it was too late. As she tried to swim and yell out, the giant fish opened his wide mouth and water was pulled towards it. Her words were cut off as she was pulled quickly with the water filling his mouth and her own open mouth also filled up. She choked as some of the water filled her surprised lungs. She fought against the current while clawing at her throat because she was desperate to breathe. She kicked with all her might so when the devilfish finally shut its powerful jaws, her leg was the only thing caught by its sharp, crooked teeth. Blood gushed from the wound and gave the lake a fresh color. She pushed her head above water with sheer force and began to cough. She was drug but down by the leg still trapped and excruciating pain exploded behind her closed eye. She kicked at him, using his head as a way to push her back above the water. Once her head broke the surface of the water, she let off an agonizing scream as her skin continued to he shredded by the fish's razor sharp teeth. The scream barely came out as a strangled cry.

Outreach Island? Did this man just say he thinks he is on Outreach Island? It hasn't been referred to by that name in... at least twenty years. Curious, she lowered her weapon to her side and stared at the floor below her. Rowan wasn't a stupid girl- or at least that is what she thought. She wasn't just about to trust a guy who drops the island's old name and cries a bit. They all had something to cry about- and her death wasn't going to be one of them. She looked at her leg, the blood had mostly stopped pouring from the wound. The adrenaline made it impossible to feel- which was a good thing. She still had some juice in her. If she phased through the floors and the man tried to kill her- he will have a tough time. It was decided. She felt her powers wrap around her like a heavy blanket and the floor that once held her now slipped past her in a rush. She materialized her feet before she hit the floor to ensure she didn't fall to another level. The pain from her wound couldn't be ignored at that moment. Still, she only cringed slight and hissed between her teeth at the pain. She lifted her bow at the man who stood close by and took a step forward. "Okay, Luca. Enough with the waterworks. Why did you lure me in here? I am not going to die so easily-" She stopped and took in the man before her. He didn't look like a convict. He looked... pitiful. Shit. This could be all apart of his plan. Her arm shook from the effort of holding the string taut with an arrow. She lowered her weapon again despite herself. Perhaps she was getting soft. Or maybe she was ready to die. But she never let her power leave her body. She remained phased- besides her feet. "This... this place isn't called 'Outreach Island' anymore. Don't you remember? After the nuclear blast... there was nothing left. So many people died... But that was in the past. This is now Outcast Island. Home of convict and monsters alike." She didn't know if she believed his ignorance or not but the look on his pale face was convincing. She would kill him if he even dares take a step towards her, she told herself. Still... She blinked slowly as she stared at his dirty face. "And if you live here, you are sentenced to die." The words felt like a rock being dropped into the pit of her stomach. She was sentenced to die here because of her sins to survive. How... poetic.

Luca Winter

Luca watched the ceiling in anticipation, while trying to wipe sweat from his forehead. His hand felt coarse from the dirt and pebbles that clung to him. He wondered how he looked right now. Disheveled? Dirty? This train of thought was replaced with astonishment and fear, as the stranger fell through. Fell through what? Luca's mind couldn't understand what just happened. He was alone, and in a second, a long, lanky woman landed on the floor in front of him. When she landed, he noticed her pain, but there were many other questions that flooded his mind. The stranger aimed a makeshift bow at him, as she took one step forward and questioned him in a hostile tone. Luca made a small step back, almost tripping on a broken chair. He held his hands up and could only stutter "I-I.. I". The woman let her bow face the ground, which calmed the scientist, but her words hurt more than any arrow could. It can't be true. Please. It has to be a lie. No words came from his slightly open mouth, but tears began to push away from his eyes. Nothing on the stranger's face showed any sign that she lied. Her malnourished body, dirtied clothes, makeshift bow, and attitude gave credit to her statements. Even her act of falling through the ceiling gave a sense of reality to the impossible. Luca broke. His knees buckled, forcing his body forward onto the debris covered floor. Pain. What pain did they suffer? He couldn't choke back the tears long enough to say anything to the woman standing in front of him. She disappeared from his mind. All he could see was tears dripping onto a flat palm-sized rock. All he could feel were his fists cradling his head and the sting surrounding his eyes. Scarlet. Crystal. His stomach dropped even further at the thought of his loved ones. Luca forced his body closer to the ground and quietly cried out, "I.. I have... nothing. The-They're all gone.." He lost everything in that moment. Every aspect of his previous life vanished, leaving only himself. He closed his eyes, as he choked out, "How.. do you survive.. when e-.. when everyone's.. gone?"

Katja had been hunting near the shore when she heard a boat engine off in the distance. She wasn't actively tracking anything so she wandered over through the treetops, curious as to what it would be. Something was happening on the island, involving an invasion force being sent over so she didn't think it would be new convicts. She had found one of the battlegrounds where that force had severely overestimated their capabilities. They hadn't had much of use on them since she couldn't use guns, but she had found some medical supplies and binoculars. When she reached a tree at the edge of of the forest she pulled out her new binoculars, focusing in on the boat out in the distance. She watched it come to a halt and offload passengers into the water and winced. As they started swimming she saw one of the numerous reasons she avoided the water coming to the surface behind them and she reached back and pulled her bow into position. She knew this fish, and she knew her normal stone arrows wouldn't cut it. For a moment she hesitated but as she watched it bite into one of the swimmers she took pulled a glass arrow from the separate compartment in her quiver. She had two shots, and an eye shot was too much of a risk. Instead she dropped the binoculars and took a brief moment to aim, relying on years of practice at these kinds of ranges to loose an arrow. It arced through the air, and as the people around the swimmer in danger reacted it had already landed, biting into the base of the creatures dorsal fin. That would limit its mobility especially at short range and maybe distract it. She would have preferred to hit the tail to slow it down overall but with it facing towards the island she didn't have a clear shot and they might be able to kill it before its forward speed could be an issue. Pulling the binoculars back up from the lanyard she let them fall on she looked through, trying to get eyes back on the figures in the water. She was sure the shot had landed, but she still had a moment of worry.

Felix Grant Dowdy
{Military Personal / Aerokinesis / Tagged: @Heroes and whoever else is here}

Felix listened as his brother tried to reassure him that he could lead, which he disregarded immediately, its just not gonna happen. He swatted at Jenson's hand as he messed up his hair, he began to fix it and mumbled with a hint of annoyance in his voice "Just because you don't care how your hair looks since you just chop it off doesn't me-" he was cut off as his brothers large hand grabbed his face, his eyes widened in shock, Jenson couldn't be serious? He hasn't even put his goggles on, he didn't get to double check if all the sweets he brought in his pack were still triple wrapped and safe from the radioactive water! He tried to yell but it came out muffled "Jenson you better-!" he had to quickly close his eyes as he was pulled off the boat. When he hit the slimy excuse for water he tried to pull himself to the surface immediately and found that he couldn't move, Jenson hadn't let go of his face yet, damn his super strength and his unbelievable grip! He had to wait until his brother swam up and realized that he his face was still attached to his hand before he could start coughing from the lack of air as he finally surfaced himself. He turned to Jenson "What the hell!? are you trying to kill me!?" But He wasn't listening, he was already swimming towards the island. Felix just sighed and swam after him.

When he finally pulled himself onto the shore, he threw off his pack and sat down next to Jenson as he waved to the Medic. "She still hasn't jumped out? Think we need to go and get her?" But she jumped in before he could get an answer, he was about to lay back on the sand and relax as they waited for her, but shit hit the fan fast as she was pulled into the water. Felix quickly stood up as she struggled against what seemed like a giant fish. The fear of someone dying so quickly after they got here, someone that he was just speaking to moments ago, caused him to take action without hesitation. "Jenson! Throw me at its face!" He didn't wait for an answer, he leaped towards his brother and curled into a cannonball position and hoped to god he would just whip him at the fish without Felix having to convince him first.

Olive Darlina
(Wildcard - Class D - Adoptive Muscle memory - Tagged: P pushed - Jenson)
Olive let out a soft sigh as she massaged her temples. The couldn't have gone across in a little rowboat? That would have prevented the sleeping giant from waking. But no they had to all swim across and put their scents all up in the water. She didn't realize when coming up with her plan that she would have to put her life this far on the line. Well, no one could say she wasn't committed to her roles now. She had started to move from her hiding spot when he had shown himself to the new arrivals. There was a reason the beast was named 'Devil Fish' and sadly she wasn't allowed to watch. On the bright side, a monster showing up also gave her the perfect opportunity to prove herself as their ally.

"Jenson! throw me at its face" Oh dear god these people were idiots. Olive understood that their comrade was in the water but at least pause for a moment and come up with a plan instead of going in guns blazing. "No! Don't! he's a class D you can't just run in and stab it!" she called while stepping out from her hiding place. A few soldiers turned quickly to point her weapons and her, causing her to put her hands up to show she meant no harm. They lowered their weapons at the site of her uniform but kept them nearby in case she tried something. She took that as meaning she could walk over to the person who looked like they were the captain. "Captain, They have a hard shell and their scales secrete mucus. There would be nothing for you to latch onto. No time for introductions! Aim for the underbelly it's soft but he can smell you as soon as you enter the water. The best option is to stay on top of the water but that's not really possible. You don't have to trust me but you need me, Sir." she kind of bowed her head a little as she spoke. For all, she knew they might decide to cut her down where she stood but she didn't have time to think that way. Why would they pause to kill her when they have a giant monster to kill.

Alaster Sterling
(Military trained - Water manipulation - tagged: the heroes - Avery)

Alaster's pencil slipped as the voice of none other than Dimitri sounded off from behind him. He tended to be quite childish the majority of the time but Alaster put up with it because he was a good ally to have around. It also didn't hurt that he was also quite good looking. He let out a soft sigh and erased the slip up before looking over at the male. "Demetri we aren't here to have fun and I was just noting down this odd plant. Just make sure that the " He spoke, shaking his head a little as he turned back to the plant. As he stuck his finger in one of the flowers the petals curled around it so it had a tight hold. "Curious" he mumbled while wiggling his finger a bit to get the flower released its grip. He had never seen anything like the plant but he guessed that was to be expected. The petals on the flowers were such a bright blue that they almost seemed to be glowing. Then again the radiation might be causing it to actually glow but he wasn't sure. One thing he did know was that he was going to find out every secret the Island held.

Then everything plummeted into chaos so fast that Alaster barely had time to register what was going on. There was something in the water attacking the medic that much he did know. He stayed kneeling by the plant for a good few moments as he debated whether he should help or use this moment to note down the monster in his journal. He ran his fingers through his hair as he decided the first option was probably the best so he could witness the thing for himself. He had begun to pull his goggles on when a foreign female voice sounded out from near Jensen. Was it a soldier? They looked dirty and in quite a bad shape so it was safe to assume that they were from the first team. If there was one of them maybe more would show up to help? As soon as she reached the captains' side she started telling him what to do which he found quite funny.

It wasn't until she mentioned walking on water that Alaster realized how needed he was at that moment. "I got this," he said and threw his goggles to her as it seemed she would need it more. He stepped onto the water causing it to freeze under his feet. He had only done this a few times and the others would have to follow relatively close behind as he didn't know how long they would stay frozen in this heat. He then started running out to where Avery was leaving a trail of ice stepping stones floating on the water. He sure did hope they had good balance or they might fall in. Once he reached Avery he made his ice platform a little bigger so he could pull her up onto it as well. He almost fell off due to the waves the fish was causing. The male quickly came up with a solution and made the ice encase his feet so he wouldn't fall off. He tried to grab ahold of her but wasn't having much success so he changed to holding his hand out to her. "Grab my hand" he called, wanting to get her out of there as soon as possible as she was loosing quite a large amount of blood.

Sasha Pavlov
{Sergeant / Telepathy / Tagged: P pushed and Heroes }

Sasha lifted her metal mask and coughed up the water onto the shore's sand. Disgusting. This island was a hell unrivaled by every battlefield she had experienced. She could feel danger in every direction. A smile crept unto her face as she gripped the wet sand in her hands. Perfect. Sasha felt so excited and in her own thoughts that she did not hear the medic's voice calling out. She had separated herself from the group, swimming at an angle towards a rock jutting up from the shore. It stood twice her height with small cracks flowing around its surface. As she pushed herself onto her feet, her eyes watched the others crowd together. They spoke, but nothing reached her ears as words. The sounds were lost between the sea waves crashing and the water lodged in her ears. Annoying. Sasha forced the water out by shaking her head and pulling at her earlobes.

Listening to the conversations once again finally revealed the situation. The medic that went last had succumbed to some beast in the ocean. What a wonderful struggle. Sasha was excited to see the captain and those around him speak with urgency. Suppressing her smile, she let her eyes wander over the forest further inland. The vegetation gave an alien appearance, while some of the trees showed wilted branches. An island surrounded and filled with death and danger. Who else in this group craves struggle? Sasha stared into the distance and questioned the residents in her mind. Do any of you enjoy this life? She remarked how sad and miserable a life would be for a convict that didn't embrace the island. Such a gift for someone that can't put it to use.

A glimpse of cloth waved in a slight ocean breeze. Hidden in a tree at the edge of the forest was someone. Hello there... Sasha could not hold back her smile anymore. Her body had rested long enough from the swim and wanted more. There was no fear for her own life, but there was a fear that her new friend may run away. She faced the figure, pointed directly at them, and gave a little wave. Waving shows your new friends that you care. Sasha slung her rifle behind her back, and began a slow march toward their tree.

Jenson Blake Dowdy
{ Squad Leader / Super Strength / Tagged: Shnuydude Shnuydude - then the heroes }
Jenson cursed under his breath as he watched pink hair disappear under the water. He jumped up to his feet preparing to bark out orders when his brother demanded he threw him at "its" face. The older man didn't even comprehend what Felix was telling him to do until he looked out past the shore again into the cream-colored eyes of the monster. Who had his healer in its grasp- hell-bent on killing her. His brother was reckless at times but that drives him to do better himself to ensure his safety. Somewhat of a dynamic duo. He nodded at his brother with understanding before gripping his brother's waist. The muscles in his arm sprang to life as the veins popped forward with the effort. He lifted him from the ground and smirked at him before spinning to gain momentum. He released his brother like a bullet straight for the fish monster's face. Bullseye. But with his brother gone from his arms, the voice of an unfamiliar female made its way to his ears. He quickly slipped on his brass knuckles with ease and turned to face her in a fighting stance. His eyes widened slightly at the sight of a female clad in a uniform similar to his own. His eyes couldn't focus on the details of the uniform so he couldn't tell what her position was in the unit. He didn't care either way. This was his unit and there was no way some girl was about to intrude on that. Though it was feeling less and less like his unit since Alastar jumped into action without orders and Dimitri followed suit. One thing at a time, he reminded himself. His bright, crimson eyes never left the girl's caramel colored ones. And girl she appeared to be. Her eyes were large and doe-like giving her an innocent aura. Her long hair was tied back with a ribbon and fell far below her back. He tilted his head and widened his stance- there was no way he was buying it. Not on this island. "Who are you?" He demanded as he bounced from foot to foot. "And how the fuck do you know about that... thing?" In his mind, it didn't make sense. She looked like she was one of them and yet she spoke about the monster here in the water like she had intimate knowledge. That was seemingly impossible with the amount of time they all have been there. But what if he is wrong? Is intuition was off and he wasn't feeling like himself.

Avery Claire Thompson
{ Medical Personal / Blood Healer / Tagged:- }
Avery felt the pain shoot up her body with each movement she or the fish made. The water had her floating barely above the water and who knew how long that would last. The monster in question was upset at not sucking in the good smelling morsel immediately. But it could smell her fresh blood pouring around it. Suddenly, pain rippled through the monster as an arrow lodged in its body. The move gave Avery a second to get herself higher above water, but the agony of the shift caused her to cry out once again. Tears wetted her cheeks and her eyes shot open searching for some relief. She didn't expect to find any- and yet there he was. His hair was a striking silver color and his eyes were piercing right through hers. It took her a moment to realize she has seen this man before. On the boat. The one with the doubting questions. And yet he was there trying to help her. She felt herself smiling despite the pain through the tears never eased up for a second. He held out a hand and urged her to grasp it. Using the strength she mustered up on her need to survive, she thrust herself forward with another shout of pain. Her fingertips grazed his soft palm and her hope drained from her body as the fish drug her back under the water. Her mouth filled with water that choked her and logic escaped her panicked mind. She clawed violently at her throat not really understanding why. The fish was moving its backside to swipe at her savior. Was she going to get everyone killed? The fish moved his head up to smell his surroundings outside the water and when he did that, something violently slammed against him. Avery coughed and sputtered trying to expel the rancid water from her lungs so she could take in that sweet air. She was even more shocked to see Felix. Maybe she had died. Without thinking, she reached her arms up to grasp whatever part of Felix as she could. This wasn't going to happen like last time. She gripped onto him like he was her lifeboat. She clutched him tighter than she ever did anything before. She cried out against the roar of the commotion, "Please, don't let me die!"
