"Children, did you both take your baths?"

A young woman strode through the hallways of her home, peeking into a room with a pair of bunk beds. Within the room, she saw a young girl running a brush through her brunette hair, and looked up to her mother with a sweet smile.

"Yes, Mommy." The girl spoke with a nod, then jumped up and twirled in her frilly light blue dress. Both red eyes gazed into each other happily, and Alaire tugged her shawl over her shoulders.

She had a performance tonight, and since she wouldn't be back until late -- she had to get a babysitter for her beloved children. Being the worrying mother she is, Alaire needed to make sure everything was danger-proofed for the children whenever their babysitters arrived.

A boy poked his head out from the top bunk, and grinned as he stood, dressed in a pair of brown shorts and a blue shirt. "This is gonna be so fun, Mom!" He leaped out of his bed, and his mother immediately dove in for the catch, heart practically pounding in her ears.

Alaire managed to catch the boy, and wrapped her wings around herself and the boy protectively, her heart raced, and she felt ever so dizzy. Was she really ready to be leaving the children so soon? She wasn't used to leaving the children behind...

"Fenris, what did I tell you about doing that?!" The false angel scolded, her wings folding behind her back as she knelt to set the boy down. Her son merely grinned, and his sister rolled her eyes with a pout.

"It's over here, Papyrus!" A short skeleton called out, once he had found the house that belonged to the woman that they were supposed to be babysitting for. His blue scarf tied up in a bow behind his neck, he waited for his brother to come along since Papyrus had doubted that he would even find the house. It was a small town, seriously, it wasn't that hard to find people. Yet it... Had taken a lot more time than needed. Sans was ready for whatever sort of things these kids threw his way, they were going to have the times of their lives with Papyrus and him as their babysitters.

It was a snowier day than usual in Snowdin, but nothing was wrong with that. Meant more snow to stomp on, and if they wanted, more snow to make awesome snow angels and snowmen. He waited patiently for his brother to come meet him, soon enough the tall skeleton with an orange sweater appeared. "What took you so lonnnggg?" Sans dragged on the last word to show his impatience. He really wanted to meet the kids so he could possibly have some fun with them, before they had to go to bed.

"Just locking up the house, checking in on a few people. Either way... I'm done now." Papyrus spoke, Sans gave a nod and then he stepped closer to the door. He leaned forward and as he knocked, he was close enough to the door it was like he was listening to his knock, making it the right pitch or something. He then pulled himself away and stood confidently, glancing back at Papyrus, who had moved slightly closer. Discarding a cigarette that was a dirty habit of his brother's, Sans hoped that he would be able to avoid the habit for the time being while they were babysitting.

Sans found himself, glancing at the snow, door, Papyrus, the 'sky', and anything else that happened to catch his attention. "I bet these kids are really nice! Aren't you excited, Papyrus?" He gazed back at his brother for a second, turning himself on spot to see Papyrus's face better. "Certainly excited, probably not more than you, but a considerable amount. The kids are most likely nice." Papyrus replied back, which made Sans turn back towards the door happily.

Alaire spent her time straightening the house up, both children waiting on the sofa of the living room, watching their mother hurriedly rush from room to room. Fenris glanced to Olesia, who seemed intent on studying her mother's behavior for future use, and the boy merely shrugged and slumped back against the couch, pouting and swinging his legs impatiently.

The knock sounded at the door, and Alaire's feathers ruffled with surprise, her eyes wide and her shoulders pent up. It took her a moment to relax again, composing herself and taking her white shawl to wrap around her shoulders again. She looked herself over once more, worried that she wouldn't look well enough for her performance in her lilac gown, then turned to her children for their opinions. The girl smiled brightly and nodded vigorously, as her brother gave a thumbs up and a half-smile. With her own small smile, Alaire hugged her children before walking to the door, she noticed the snow was heavier than usual and made a last-minute decision to see the Riverperson for transportation.

The twins rushed behind their mother and stood behind to see who their babysitters were, both tilting to the side to peek from behind their mother, wolf ears perked up in interest. The door opened, and Alaire gave a tiny, instinctive curtsy in greeting (a habit she'd picked up from her own mother as a child). "It's a pleasure to meet you two, I'm Alaire. These are my children, Olesia and Fenris." She stepped aside to allow the brothers inside as well as reveal the boy and girl.

Olesia, whose eyes practically twinkled from watching her mother, made an attempt at the curtsy, and smiled proudly upon believing she'd nailed it. She, personally, was a bit anxious to be without her mother for a while, and was already beginning to feel the separation anxiety. While her brother was waving eagerly, canines flashing in a wide, cheerful grin -- He was ecstatic to meet new friends, and after living with a home full of females after his father leaving, he was just dying for their company.

Sans was almost overjoyed when the door opened to reveal Alaire and the twins that they would be watching for her. "I'm Sans, and this is Papyrus." He quickly introduced him and his brother as soon as the door opened, as he had gotten ready for it as he had waited. His brother gave a wave in response to his name. "Nice to meet you, Alaire!" Sans put out his glove for a handshake, thinking that it might be a good gesture. When Alaire had moved out of the way to let them in, Sans let his brother go inside first before going inside himself.

"Olesia and Fenris, those are really nice names." Sans commented, looking at the two twins with a smile. They did look like good kids, he couldn't wait them to maybe play some boardgames or something. Anything fun that they were able to do. He turned his attention away from the kids over to Alaire. "Is there anything specific that needs to be done while you are away?" Sans wanted to make sure he was able to keep track of all the things he had to do, as well as fit fun things in between it all.

"We are willing to help out as much as we can." Papyrus added, Sans nodded in agreement.

Red eyes gazed over to the twins, and she knelt down to press kisses to both their heads, to which Fenris loudly detested. Alaire stood up and nodded slowly, "Yes, just make sure Olesia and Fenris take their vitamins before bed at 11 - Please.." She looked down at her children with a wary gaze, then gave Fenris' head a gentle pat. Alaire was more relaxed now, knowing that their babysitters seemed to be a good pair to care for her children. Thank goodness... She thought with an eased sigh.

With a small smile of contentment, she lightly patted the twins' heads, who beamed in response. "You two, try to help out, okay?" Her tone was gentle, before she gave a small nod to the skeleton brothers. "Any numbers needed are pinned to the bulletin board we have in the living room, so if I'm needed for anything then you can contact me or anyone else if I'm unavailable."

Fenris was fidgeting in his spot, eyes wide and twinkling with excitement as he watched his mother pick up her purse to leave. "That's about all for now.. Thank you both so much. Bye for now.." Alaire spoke with a small wave, and exited the home to leave for the Riverperson's usual placement. Olesia whimpered as her mother left, her ears were flat against her head sadly, compared to Fenris who was cheering and jumping up and down, wings spread open in exhilaration.

"Alright! We'll make sure they take those vitamins." Sans said, saying it again so he could remember. He listened as Alaire spoke, making sure to take note of the things she said. Vitamins before 11, and there was phone numbers on the bulletin board. Nothing too hard to remember, and since they had some time, it was definitely going to be a fun job. Sans moved over towards the kids. "We will make sure that everything goes great. You're welcome, see you when you get back."

"So, what would you two like to do for the meantime?" He asked them, curiously. His excitement growing now that they were able to figure out what they were going to do. "Anything you two like to do for fun?" Papyrus observed his brother already getting into the plans, he couldn't help being amused by how excited Sans was about the babysitting job, from the very beginning. Saying that it would show how responsible he was, and that he just wanted Papyrus to come so he could witness how good he was at keeping care of kids.

So, obviously, Papyrus did. He was allowed to go and come back, check in, such and such; help out if Sans asked him and that was about it, as Sans mainly wanted to try doing it himself.

Fenris smiled gleefully, eyes sparkling with delight as he nodded vigorously. "I wanna build with the blocks - no wait! I wanna play Heroes! Or, or, or, or play Spoons!" Ideas began forming in the boy's mind, as he jumped up and down happily. His wings were fluttering excitedly as his smile widened, glancing over to his sister for her input as well, his ears flickering.

Olesia simply shrank back ever so slightly, her ears laid flat against her head as she stared at the door longingly as though her mother would return any minute if she tried hard enough. It was nice to meet new people, but to be without her mother for a long period of time was practically a nightmare for the young girl. She merely whimpered and closed her wings around herself, lightly shaking her head. "I want Mommy..." She whispered softly.

"How about you come with me?" Papyrus headed towards Fenris, knowing that his brother would handle Olesia. Or that he would wish to make her feel better. "We could start with the blocks and then proceed once we got bored of it. How does that sound?" He looked around, it would make sense that the blocks were put away in Fenris' room. He waited for Fenris' response, as it would then tell what they were to look for. Blocks, spoons? He wondered what game that was, Papyrus was pretty sure that Fenris would be willing to understand the kid seemed like the type that liked to explain things.

Once Papyrus had went off with Fenris, Sans turned back to look at Olesia. He held a smile, even though it held a slightly different meaning than a few seconds previous.
"I know you do. Your mother probably wishes she could have just stayed here. Plus, it will only be for a couple hours. Then by the time you wake up. Would you like a hug? We can go join your brother or do something else if you wish." Sans put out his arms for Olesia to possibly give him a hug, he felt that it would be a good way to resolve the conversation, before they did something else.
