December 18th, 3068 It was like any other day of the Human Galactic Empire. Another day of seeking answers to unsolved questions. Another day of greed fueled expansion into unknown territory.

It was the day Mother Nature roared to life and consumed the creation she once loved the most.

Nothing could escape her grasp, core rising through the cracks and consuming all in its path. Many tried to leave, to run, flee into the cold unforgiving space. They, too, were clawed back into her waiting embrace. It was a reset back to the beginning unlike anything ever seen or heard of. When the fires receded and her rage had calmed, Mother Nature relaxed her claws and entered a deep slumber to give her home time to recover.

To begin anew.

There are eight planets in the solar system: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Space used to be the home of eternal beings, birthed from the explosions of a star. They travelled through the asteroid belts playfully and created meteor showers whenever they cried. Primordial energy made up their veins. These were the Celestials. They were ethereal, primal and never-ending. So rare that few space species know of them. The reason? Celestials undergo eons of hibernation. Once a creature like itself reaches a point, they curled into soft orbs and shut their eyes. The asteroids and meteorites they used to play with are naturally attracted to the primordial energy, latching onto there sleeping forms to protect from the space elements. Over time, they form protective shells repeatedly of reaching massive sizes. Large shells capable of supporting lifeforms. Minds of these hibernating Celestials connect them in a network of five to forty, based on relation to one another.

A group of twenty or so had been fleeing along what humans lovingly dubbed the Milky Way but is actually an accumulation of stars pushed together in streams of art by Celestials. The Hunter wandered upon the trail to strip the luminous skin from their bodies and covet their energy. One by one they were picked off until eight remained. Eight that were able to cast The Hunter deep into space but such a sudden and large burst of primordial energy forced them to enter hibernation long before their time. For a very long time, they remained in deep slumber to become a foundation for new lifeforms. Earth was the first to see little creatures, Dinosaurs, come to life. Innocent and non-sentient creatures, swaying by the dreams of the Celestial.

They met an unfortunate end when a meteorite struck the shell and cast the world into fire the first time. Scorching heat seeped through the shell to the core of Earth, her Celestial form burned away and leaving behind a rotted core.

Earth was gone, Gaia was born.
The planets are actually hibernation dens of Celestials. The den builds up over time with hundreds of sediment and eventually are able to have lifeforms form. Eight Celestials are hibernating near each other, Earth being one of them. She was infected with The Hunter's poison which wiped out the "good" lifeforms forming on her den and spawned "bad" lifeforms, ones with Sentient thoughts. Good lifeforms helped keep thick layers of a healthy barrier that made it difficult for The Hunter to dig a Celestial out of its shell. Bad lifeforms would slowly suck out the nutrients from the shell and cause it to become brittle -easy prey. Humans were a bad lifeform, expanding too much like a parasite and draining Earth of her heavily built den. Poison had mixed with the energy of her Celestial form and changed her into a flaming beast of chaos. Her last ditch effort to rid herself of the poison, to regain her sanity, was purge her shell of the lifeforms. It did the trick, nearly purging the toxic beast but not quite.

Her distress was achingly heard by her slumbering companions and roused the Celestials enough to project forms that would not be rejected by Gaia, the chaotic core of what was once Earth. The seven Celestials land on the shell of their weakened Companion, searching for the pieces of their lost energy. Once all the lost energy pieces have been collected, they will be able to be fused back together and restore the corrupted core of Earth.
