The doctor arrived at his office, shifting slightly as he felt for the correct key with one hand and held his cane in the other. Same process as every other day. Some would think that hiring a blind man to evaluate some of the most dangerous criminals on American soil was a most idiotic move on Belle Reve's part. Little did they know that Dr. Gordon could hold his own, regardless of an impairment that was "gifted" to him long ago.

It comes to no surprise that Dr. Mitchell Gordon was in fact the grandson of the all too famous Commissioner James Gordon, rest his soul. And no one ever lets Mitch forget it--his grandpa did sacrifice his own life to save his and his mother's. But that is a tale for a later occasion.

The good doctor entered his office, in which 6 individuals were strapped down in constricting metal contraptions. "Gordon," he heard a familiar voice creak, causing the corners of his mouth to twitch, "Your requested six are here, with the seventh still being a low possibility. Are you sure you can handle this?"

Mitchell had read all of their dossiers, observed their histories and actions even before entering the institution. He'd only exercised his degrees and connections to make sure he had the opportunity to get all of the persons in question to be in the same place. Some of them he knew personally, such as the daughter of the Cat and the Bat, who couldn't resist a good plunder. Or the Quinzel boy, who had just as big of a score to settle as he did. The spawn of Boomerang and Power Girl honestly confused him, but her warrior blood would prove quite useful in the long run. There was no better of a time than now, when the world was slowly being gripped by forces the Justice League couldn't even fathom. So when he replied to the question it was with a bitter and dry cackle.

"Proceed with Protocol: Prophet. Make sure they are prepped with the nano-explosive serum before the sedative wears off and if anyone asks questions make sure they are silenced, one way or another."

His assistant responded with a curt "yes, sir" before dialing in a directive that would allow for the cargo plane to arrive, in which the prisoners would be escorted. Gordon felt for and took his seat before the group. "Welcome to the Squad, folks. Let's hope you don't kill the messenger." he sighed, cracking his knuckles as the sound of an airplane engine made the small, clammy room shake thunderously.

Previously that day...

The halls were silent, which was calming to the young leader. Though, there was the chatter of the new recruits. He was far too tired to deal with their noises today. His interrogation of the newest disloyal subject had left him slightly tired. He had received word that there would be a... guest today. He was waiting for the arrival. It was in good hands, Copperhead was capable and she had taken help.

His frustration grew as the noise grew louder. He entered the room with them. "Recruits." He spoke and a chilled silence fell across the recruits. "You are not here to chatter about senseless nothingness. It's time to begin your training. I expect all of you to follow me, immediately." He lead them to the training room. Those with powers would require a more unique approach, but those without needed to become physically stronger soon. He left them there, in the care of some of his higher ups.

Ryder had heard rumors that something was being cooked up to get rid of the Phoenix. He did have his own source of information, after all. The leaks in his own organization weren't the only leaks in this world. The young man found himself in his office. That would be the best place to think while he waited. He didn't have much time to get this done. He
needed this handled quickly.

Matilda Queen ~ Black Phoenix

Matilda slammed the bloody evidence on her client's table, her recent target was a middle age man who was stalking her client. "He won't bother you anymore Miss Capello," she spoke bluntly. "I expect my money in two days otherwise expect your death." Tilly threatened, walking towards the open window. "Thank you so much Black Phoenix. 10 thousand dollars will be in your bank by tomorrow." Miss Capello assured the mercenary. Tilly jumped out of the window and climbed to the top of the building. Reaching the top of the building, Tilly chucked her gear onto the ground with a sigh. She sat down and checked her phone, there were a few messages from her parents back in Star City, most likely asking her to come back.

Tilly rolled her eyes and switched her phone off, why would she come back? Sure the job of being a mercenary was very uncomfortable and gruesome but it was what she wanted to be. Tilly hated the expectation of living up to her parent's hopes and dreams. The pressure they put on her was stressful, at least she can release her anger when she's on a mission anyway. A soft sigh escaped Tilly's blood red lips, her petite hand wiped a small splatter of blood on her face as her gaze stared down at the busy traffic in the city. She found it relaxing, watching cars honk their horns at other people. Most people would found it irritating, even her parents but not her.

"Dad? Can you sit down please." Tilly sighed, sitting on the coffee table in front of her father. There was a concerned look on Oliver's face, almost worried that his daughter snuck out at night to smoke weed with her 25-year-old boyfriend. "Dad," she began,"I know how you and mom always wanted me to be a hero just like you guys but," Her voice trailed off softly, she was nervous. What she was about to tell her father may have been better kept as a secret but honesty was the best policy apparently. Tilly kept a straight face as she spoke loud and clearly. "I don't want to be the next Black Carnary like mom, I want to be a mercenary."

Tilly groaned at the memory, every time it replayed in her mind she always felt guilty like it was her fault that she didn't live up to her parent's expectations. Matilda grabbed her phone and threw up in the air as high as she could. She quickly grabbed her bow and pulled a small explosive arrow, her eyes squinted as she focused on the spinning phone. Tilly released the arrow and watched it fly through the phone, causing a small explosion during the shot. Rule 1 of being a mercenary, get rid of all connections. Besides, she had a phone back home. It wasn't like she didn't needed two phones.

Red X folded his arms quietly as he stood in the training room, eyeing the new recruits with a hint of anticipation. Turning his head, he watched Ryder exit the room, then gave a shiver. He was completely fine around new people, and wasn't creeped out at the moment, but he was shaking slightly. For the most part, he tried to hide it, otherwise he would have looked frightened or cold. He wasn't one to give away unnecessary details, and he remained unnoticed as he slipped out of the room.

Rubbing his arms quickly, Red X nervously walked through a hallway until he found an empty corner. This was perfect, but he needed to act fast, he didn't like being seen like this. Giving one last quick look around, the caped criminal reached his hand into his belt and fidgeted around until he found what he needed. "There you are! Oh, why does time have to fly by so fast? Time for a refill,," He muttered to himself in a shaky voice.

Having done this many times before, Red X pulled the sleeve of his arm back to expose his skin. With the precision of an experienced user, he slid the needle into his flesh and injected the chemical into his blood stream. Squeezing the last bit empty, he puled it out carefully, then tucked it away. For a moment, he paused and waited for the effects, then gave a satisfied sigh as his eyes glowed green. The process was over, Red X was now temporarily a pure tamaranean until next time. "I believe I can fly,," the maniac chuckled slightly as he hovered in the air.

"As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death

I take a look at my life and realize there's none left

'Cause I've been brassing and laughing so long that

Even my mamma thinks that my mind is gone..."

He walked down the aisle of the locker room, giggling hysterically as his Walkman cassette player churned out the 13
th song on his playlist. Sure, it was labeled "4 my Mistah J", but that really didn't phase him as much as it used to. It was something that was a part of his mother, no matter how horrendous of a time it was for her. Sighing deeply, the man slid out of his towel and into his underclothes. As he pulled on his orange scrubs, which had become a bit snug since he really started hitting the weights in the courtyard, he smiled a little too fondly at the faint bloodstains on the material.

"Hmph...oh well. At least I don't have to do laundry all over again." he quipped as he slid his shirt and shoes on. Walking toward the exit, a few shouts and screams could be heard coming from within the shower. It seemed someone had found the few 'gents' the guy had to bang around while getting clean. That's what they got for smacking his bubblegum out of his mouth. Do you know how much that costs here?

Try messing with Ollie Quinn's gum and he'll teach you a bit about punches with interest.

"Been spending most their lives, living in the gangsta's paradise

Keep spending most our lives, living in the gangsta's paradise..."

---

Ollie had just gotten out of solitary for teaching a slinky, one eyed dolt a thing about manners in the kitchen. Sure, it was a little dramatic trying to drown a guy in a pot of chili, but the smug fucker had it coming. Ollie spent weeks working with the fool and in that time One-Eyed Pete decided that Quinn was gonna be his lucky piece of sweet meat. As if. Due to an understanding of his motives, Ollie only had to spend a week in solitary, which ended with a visit to Dr. Mitchy. The two were well acquainted with one another of course, with their home turf being Gotham. Ollie moved back to the shithole when his Ma passed, staying with his Aunt Pam while his Pops ran the apartment complex on Conney Island for the both of them. In that time he rose to a position
suitable for his disposition, and it was only natural for the son of the Commissioner to be involved with many of his cases. Unfortunately, one of those cases led to the man losing his eyes, something Quinn actually felt guilty for.

In any case, the two had an understanding of the younger man's nature. This time, however, there was something strange about Mitch's hollow stare. It was knowing...as if something was on the horizon that was about to tip the boat over. But nothing was said of it and 25 hours later Quinzel found himself in the commons area when all of a sudden punches were being thrown for no reason whatsoever. Not like much reason was needed for a yard brawl, but who doesn't like gossip? It was bad--even the chicks were throwing and taking punches. Ollie didn't need a reason at all to get in on the action. And those who were aware of his infamy knew he wasn't holding back as his personal battle cry rung out across the court:

"BINGO, BABY!!!"

STAR LABS|2300hrs

Two figures stood outside of STAR Lab Industries, the night air was cool and Copperhead attributed that to her companion tonight.

“Attack me.” Copperhead turned to the flamboyant man beside her. His hesitant look brought a smile to her face. It was good to know that she was feared and respected in the ranks of Phoenix.

“No, go ahead, I won't bite.” She needed to look a little roughed up if her plan was to work. She took on a few hits, before her hand raised for a halt.”That's enough.” Copperhead's voice had taken a dark tone and her eyes nearly glowed in the night sky. Her own hand reached up, ripping her hair down and the strap off her own
dress. She had achieved her look. Kicking off her shoes Copperhead cracked her neck from side to side before rolling her shoulder back, like a predator preparing to pounce. She glanced at Winter before a small sadistic smirk spread on her lips.

Suddenly Copperhead's features changed; no longer did she her face exude confidence and power but now an expression of pure horror. Barefoot she ran up to the glass doors of STAR Labs, two guards were sitting at the desk when the horror struck girl began crying banging on their door. She was hysterical, clearly frightened, and speaking incoherent Spanish. Quickly they could tell the beautiful girl must have been attacked and the attacker could be right behind her. One of the guards unlocked the door and the frightened girl flung herself upon him wrapping her arms around his neck.

“Gracias, gracias, gracias.” One hand slid behind his neck gripping while the other slid up his chest,”gracias.” Copperhead snapped the man's neck and his body fell limp to the ground. The second guard who had come to see the commotion was shocked, but immediately had his gun up and as he fired Copperhead slid down on her knees under the bullet and through the man’s legs. Her leg reached up and forced the guard down into a locked position between Copperhead's legs, his hand holding the gun was reached out over one of her legs, she broke it before snapping his neck.

Flipping her hair over her shoulder she gazed right into the lens of a security camera, with a hiss and a wink.“Frost the cameras, freeze the security circuits.” She called out to Winter.

Ava Mercer ~ Captain Boomerang

ezgif-2859517434.jpg

ezgif-1088833106.jpg
Whistling and cooking. One of the two things Ava enjoyed doing in her spare time. Whistling was calming and fun at the same time in her mind anyway cooking, however, was her worst nightmare. The poor Australian was suffering cooking duty with Ollie Quinn or Quinzel, whatever his last name was. This was her first time in kitchen duty and she wasn't enjoying it. Ava continued to whistle while her orange hair were in two dutch braids, Ava's favorite hairstyle. Her orange jumpsuit was tied halfway showing off her dirty white tank top and black bra, she heard most of the perverted criminals whistling at her. Ava bit a chunk of air in front of their faces as she headed for the stove with her big pot of chili stew. She turned to the female inmate with a cocky smile. "Mind watching this for me while I chop up some veg love?" She asked, the inmate grunted at her without a care, Ava shrugged and went back to the chopping board where the prechopped tomatoes sat. She grabbed the tomatoes and turned on her heels. Splash, next thing she knew Ollie had dunked One-Eye Pete into her chili stew and covering her in her own stew as well. "Ollie you motherfucker!" She screamed, dropping the tomatoes on the ground.

That was last week's incident, luckily this week Ava is on laundry duty. Although she was on laundry duty, Ava was still pissed at the clown who covered her in chili stew that was probably not even cooked right to begin with. Ava doesn't remember what happened to Ollie after that, she was still mad at him. Some inmates told her that he was sent to solitary but others told her other stories. She didn't really care, he deserved what he got. A small yet tired sigh of relief escaped her lips once she finished doing the laundry, Ava was slightly disturbed on how dirty the female inmate's clothes were. At least they weren't splashed in chili.

Ava still had to understand the way the Belle Reve worked, being the new meat wasn't very fun to begin with. She did know that her grandfather was here as well when he was Captain Boomerang. Ava began to explore the common area where most inmates hung out, maybe she could find someone that will help her escape? Ava sat down and scanned the area, most of them had their own groups as if it was like high school all over again. As she sat quietly to herself, she began to daydream once more. Ava looked up and saw someone running towards her. She had enough of the prisons' bullshit. Ava ducked between the inmate's legs to pop up behind him. Ava tapped his shoulder with a cocky smile and quickly aimed to punch him, she didn't honestly care where. Ava ended up punching him in the jaw which was a good move for her. She jumped over the male and kicked him behind where it really hurts. "
Don't mess with me mate.." Ava whispered as she wiped her hands clean from the blood.

"How could you do this?" "She's not going to answer you." "Master Wayne, they're here for her." "Thank you." "How could you let this happen?" "She's not going to answer you." "Shut up, Thomas." "Selina."

The girl's eyes opened, blinded by the light. She found herself in the present, on the balance beam again. She took a deep breath and jumped down. Her bare feet were cold against the floor. Her fingers were twitching, she wanted to move. She wanted to fight. Tabitha Wayne had always had slightly violent tendencies. Like a cat, really.

She looked around the room. There wasn't enough room to do any gymnastic. No matter how badly she wanted to feel her bones move like that. She wanted to feel the click of her joints. She wanted to
move. She felt trapped. Confined. She'd never liked those feelings much.

The Wayne girl slipped on her shoes and made her way to the common area, suddenly very aware that things were going to change. She wasn't entirely sure what brought the feeling on, but it didn't slow her belief in it. She caught the fist flying in her direction, twisting the arm and scrunching her brow. Yes, she was familiar with fights in prison, but this one was different somehow. Call it cat's intuition, she had a feeling.

"Hey there little kitten," a gruff voice spoke behind her. "Let's rumble." An inmate she had fought before. Winning, of course.

A smirk graced the brunette's face as she turned to face the other criminal. "Bring it on, bitch." She practically hissed. Why anyone thought challenging the Wayne girl was smart was beyond her. Sure, it wasn't quite common knowledge that her parents had alter-egos. Hell, most people didn't even know about their martial arts abilities. What was common knowledge was that Tabitha had taken on plenty of fights while in prison and came out as the winner of each.

A fist to her mouth broke her from her thoughts. She spit the blood before turning to look at the other inmate. "You call that a punch?" She smirked, spinning and kicking. Her opponent was larger than she was, but luckily, her mother had taught her how to fight those who were larger than she was. Her foot locked on the occipital and she yanked her leg forward, pulling her foe to the ground. A swift blow to the temple rendered the woman unconscious.

"BINGO BABY!!!" She smirked lightly when she heard his war cry. Fights were always more fun with Ollie involved.

She slung her fist backwards, in a typical Bat-kid manner, and knocked the newest assailant to the crowd. "Anyone else want a piece of this?" She called, throwing her hands out. She was just getting started.

Winter

It was late. At this point, he was usually taking a shower or brushing his teeth or picking his outfit for tomorrow in preparation for bed. It seemed that the second-in-command considered him strong and dependable enough to accompany her on a mission like this. The biggest mission one can be issued. He was flattered, yet a bit apprehensive at first.

"Hit me." Winter turned to the girl, narrowing his eyes, many things running through his head. Eventually, he agreed, roughing up his higher-up on her orders. She ran into the labs, acting like a distraught girl. He had to applaud her acting abilities. He calmly walked down the way to the labs, picking up her discarded shoes on the way, hearing the commotion Copperhead was causing inside. His boots made a bit too much noise for the operation, but he didn't care, they looked cute. Copperhead called out an order, Winter replied with a whisk of scarily cold air encircling the cameras, snow drifting into the circuit systems. The devices froze, being able to be completely broken by an almost effortless kick or punch. He caught up with Copperhead, and their mission continued.

It was weird. He'd never been to this lab before, and didn't know how it worked, but did know the end goal and objective. Only Copperhead knew how to operate this mission and how to maneuver around the labs, he'd just have to follow her lead. He didn't mind doing it though.

"Do you need a touch up before we continue?" She had no shoes, her dress was atrocious, her hair was even worse. Winter gave the girl her shoes back.

TRUTH

Batman's contact had proven to be correct. Martie watched as a young female successfully manipulated her way into the S.T.A.R Labs location and snuffed out the guardsmen with ease. The woman's moves were quick and almost as fluid as water. That would be a problem for the young hero, who had gotten rusty with precision and technique. The fact that there was also a metahuman with her posed more of a threat, his affinity seeming to be Ice Temperature Degree Manipulation. That one, she could deal with.

She knew exactly who to call for the girl.

As she watched the two enter the inner workings of the building, Martie activated her comms link to JL. "This is Truth, I've got eyes on an operation unfolding at a S.T.A.R Labs Facility. My coordinates are locked in and I'd like to ask Velocity to get her ass out here, if she doesn't mind." she relayed, stepping out of the bushes and zipping the jacket to her get-up. She knew she wouldn't have to wait long for the speedette to reach the destination. And it was that same speed she would be relying on to take on the 'yoga princess' and her frosty sidekick.

Copperhead threw a glance at Winter, his boots slapping against the tile floor of STAR Labs lobby. She pressed her tongue to the inside of her teeth with a slight roll of her eyes, she headed over to the security booth. There, on the 10th floor, was her target. He was a renowned scientist studying meta human genes: what suppresses them and what strengthens them. On the floor was on more guard posted for protection over the great doctor. Hopefully Winter could incapacitate the guard easily enough to let Copperhead slip into the lab and snatch her target.

“Do you need to touch up before we continue?” The vein Phoenix operative had a disapproving look over her current attire. She herself didn't care, they were on a mission and it wasn't one about glamour. Winter handed Copperhead her designer shoes, but she tossed those aside (she hadn't paid for them after all anyway) she worked better barefoot. However, she did reach into her handbag pulling out her clawed gloves and a serum in which she coated them in. It wasn't the infamous deadly neurotoxin of the Copperhead organization, this neurotoxin simply provided temporary paralysis.

“I have all I need.” She admired the claws that extended over her index and middle fingers.”You have the guard on the tenth floor. I'll take the old man.”

"
These are heroes? These aren't heroes."

Alice walked through the main hallway of Gotham University with two expressions mixed into one: glumness, and shock. Just a few seconds ago, Alice attended a lecture on the current status of superheroes. It wasn't like it was going to help with Alice's studies or anything of the sort, though she was curious how a "knowledgeable" individual would think of the current status on heroes. She didn't expect full appraisal and support, but at the same time she didn't expect a full hour of hateful criticisms.

"These are people in funny outfits looking for love and attention. I, in fact have a niece who's four and does the exact same thing. She puts on a princess costume and runs around the house till' someone stops her."

Alice balled her fists, pushing it any further would cause her to walk all the way back to the lecture hall, punch the guy who was talking, grab the mic, and say otherwise. She wanted to step into an enclosed, private area such as a washroom stall, and then proceed to dash her way to Central City and find her dad, venting her frustrations. He always knew how to calm her down during these rare, angry moments. Right now, is not an exception. Just as Alice was walking towards the washroom, she was stopped by one of her friends. "Hey are you okay? For like, the half hour you were there you had one your rare pissy faces on and now you walk out. Are you sick? Or..."

"If you're such a hero, spend a little less time putting on your costume and a little more time doing something other than lying to everyone with your little secret identities and trashing public property and stopping traffic.

"No I'm fine," Alice began, with a tightly knit smile. "I'm just having really bad cramps right now and I need a moment." It was an obvious lie. If this was true, Alice was simply deal with it and make the through the entire lecture. She often loves the fact that her friend is extremely gullible, otherwise Alice would never get away with anything.

"Oh! Okay then. I'll leave you to yourself then," she smiled at Alice, which Alice responded with a nod. As her friend began to walk back towards the lecture hall, Alice dropped the smile and disappeared in a flash.

"Hero? You want to be a hero?"

A couple seconds past, and Alice laid there on her bed, sighing deeply. A couple more seconds past, and she heard something through her comm. It was Truth, called for some assistance, calling specifically for Alice. It seemed like something that Alice could occupy her troubled mind with, so she accepted the request for help with a, "On it. Give me a couple seconds." And with that, Alice put on her costume and made it to STAR Labs in the matter of twenty seconds.

"Start working on stopping wars, curing diseases, and helping the homeless."

Alice stood there next to Truth, with a convincing smile strewn across her face. "Sorry about being a lil' late. So! On the scale of 'super-powerful' to 'runt', how's the problem we're dealing with here?"

It was time to forget about the lecture.

Winter

Winter followed Copperhead to the security booth. She was clearly annoyed by his boots, but she clearly didn't know anything about presentation. He shifted his attention to whatever she was looking at. It was a security guard, guarding the door to the objective. They'd have to take care of that man before proceeding to capture the scientist unfortunately. He figured it would be an easy snatch. Well, it would still be, the security guard looked about as threatening as a plastic fork.

Copperhead took her shoes back, dashing them across the floor to the other side of the room to his dismay. He considered snatching them up before they left, but he didn't want her to hate him even more, so he pushed the thought out of his mind. Copperhead took out her claws and explained to him the plan.

"'Kay." With that, Winter's lower half transformed into a flurry of snow. This was for stealth purposes. If his shoes continued to disturb Copperhead, he'd figured that the neurotoxin might be used on more than one person this time around. He traveled to the tenth floor, stopping at the corner where the guard was stationed. He peered around it, things seemed to be normal. Winter let the cold overtake the floor, soon enough the guard started to feel it. Before he could react, a burst of unrelenting snow smashed into him, smacking him into the walls on the other side of the floor. He might've been dead, but Winter was almost sure he was just unconscious, so it was really nothing to fret over.

"Your turn." Winter didn't know if Copperhead followed him or not, so he made his way to where the guard was stationed, watching for anyone who may interrupt the mission.

Martie smirked at the quip from her colleuge. "Nothing we can't handle." she replied, taking the opportunity to stretch her limbs. "There is at least one meta inside, but I'm not too concerned with him. The female was a little too nimble for my tastes. She moves like a damned snake and I don't like it."

She squat into a lunge popping a kink in her neck simultaneously. "Reflexes are your thing." Martie reached into the bush where her shield lay. It was embossed with a white three pointed star that vaguely resembled a "T". It's red and blue colors were dulled and chipped with war scars of all the good it had ever done. She let herself levitate, only a few inches off the ground. Martie was much faster in flight than on foot. Looking back she smirked knowingly at Velocity, who probably knew what was about to happen. Truth didn't care. "Race you!" she bellowed, headed toward the doors of the facility at full speed.

Copperhead followed behind Winter, watching his moves with criticizing eyes. The man was older than her, but she had the authority over him and far more time dedicated to Phoenix. This mission was a test; a test in Winter’s abilities, his loyalties, and just how far he was willing to follow. But, every mission was a test after all, Copperhead had to prove herself worthy of her high position of second-in-command, prove herself to their leader she was loyal and trusted. She had to be these things convince their leader everyday she was to be trusted to rely on. She had not yet disappointed.

The room became uncomfortably cold, especially for the girl that joked about being cold-blooded. An avalanche of snow hit the guard sending his body against a wall rendering him unconscious. Copperhead stood her arms folded over her chests waiting for the finish product.“Your turn.” Winter chimed before taking the guards previous position, thus becoming look out. Copperhead smiled what of those predatory looks as she waltz through the doors of the lab, greeting the face of Dr. Lewis Hosen's.

His face was one of shock and possibly and underline of fear, but the older man seemed to try to mask it. The scientist must have been in his early 50s, a handsome man, tired from long hours at work. Copperhead ran her hand across the countertops as she made her way around to the doctor, playing with beakers and test tubes on her way.

“Who are you? What do you want?”Dr. Hosen’s voice spoke low and gruff.

“Me?” Copperhead’s voice became sweet and coy,” I'm just woman looking for a man, and what I want is you. Though not nearly as bad as my boss does.” On the last line the girl’s voice took a dark tone, her hand was poised, ready to swipe the doctor with the neurotoxin.

There's me, a person who can run at superspeed and do other amazing things that I don't feel like listing," Alice started in a triumphant manner, acting as if she had the abilities of Jesus or Darkseid. "Then there's you. The product of the two strongest people in the Justice League. So I think we're fine." Alice finished with a smile and a nod, as if she needed to confirmation to her own encouragement. Truth proceeded to walk towards a bush, which frankly looked pretty sketchy in Alice's point of view. With a simple grab, she produced a shield out of the bush, which made Alice mentally go "ooohhh". With the shield now in her possession, Truth began to levitate. Judging by the smirk plastered all over her face, Alice could tell what was going to happen. Speaking in a low whisper, Alice said, "You probably want to-"

"Race you!"

"Race me. Knew it," Alice spoke quite quickly, adding a light sigh to the end of her words. In a split second, she zipped over to the lab with ease, finding herself now at the entrance of the building. Looking up at STAR Labs, the concave style of the building seemed pretty intimidating from where Alice was standing. It looked as if at any moment, the building would fall on her; crushing her if Alice didn't have any way to escape. Her mind didn't stay set on this one topic for too long, in fact it only lingered for around two seconds with her supercharged brain activity.

Alice didn't pay too much attention to if Truth was in her proximity, though she would assume that Truth was in Alice's general area. "Alright. JL roll out!" Alice commanded with a point of her finger. It was more for self-empowerment than an actual order, and she moved her head over to face Truth. "We have to find a catch phrase for the group after this passes." With a turn back to STAR Labs, Alice vibrated into the building, completely ignoring the door. Once inside, Alice opened the door for Truth as if she was incapable of doing it herself. "There you go madam!"

With the door open now, Alice went into full investigator mode. First thing that was quite clear, was the fact that it was cold. Either the staff like it really chilly, or something bad happened, Alice was expecting the latter. She began getting vibes that the meta could be a Captain Cold kid, which would be just wonderful. Looking at the ground, there were shattered pieces of tech, torn to too many pieces to be distinguishable. Alice ran over there quickly, and crouched down, picking up a piece. Staring at it deeply for a couple seconds, she glanced upwards. There was a black circle on the wall, signifying that there should've been some sort of camera there previously. "Hey, they freeze-blasted the camera here. If they're consistent, then they probably did it with the rest," Alice said over to Truth, completely out of her joking mood from earlier. From the corner of her eye, Alice spotted a dead body as well. Dashing over to it, it looked...obviously dead. Alice chose to stay quiet about this, since Truth's eyes would probably look over at the body first.

"You have have any x-ray vision like your dad? 'Cause we could just x100 x-ray zoom up, down, sideways, or any other direction to see where they're at," Alice stood up and faced Truth once again. It would be quite useful. If not, Alice would be forced to tirelessly scan each room until she found the right one.

Winter

Winter sighed as he saw Copperhead enter. Keeping up the cold temperature on the floor and throughout the building could be to their advantage. If a fight were to transpire due to interlopers, he would have a slight advantage, being able to spawn snow and freeze a bit easier. Although, generating cold was hardly able to be avoided when you manipulate snow.

His cloak swayed as the cold winds passed. Winter was smart, as he liked to think. Part of the snow was himself, turned into it monitor the surrounding area. It's not like he could see through it, but detecting warm bodies was easier this way. Every part of the floor was able to be monitored, this surveillance did not extend beyond the floor however. His earpiece rang, and he accepted the call. Presumably the only person who could possibly be calling was the boss. His voice instantly became a bit more dignified and professional.

"Yes, the scientist has been neutralized." Winter peered into the room. It seemed Copperhead was in the act of doing so, and he returned back to his conversation. "We should be able to return swiftly... Understood." He sighed, feeling like a weight had been lifted off of his shoulders. Talking to the boss, you had to make sure you carefully picked out each word you spoke. You could be vaporized in an instant if you slip up.

TRUTH

The heroine froze at the mentioning of one of her father's trademark abilities. Of course it had to be the one that she didn't acquire. The super strength and overall durability were a plus, but she did still feel a little dejected about not being the all powerful amalgam of two powerhouses that most people just assumed she was.

"I actually-" she started as she turned to the speedette, but words came to a halt when she saw her examining one of the deceased guardsman. 'Another one you didn't save.' she involuntarily thought. Her brow hardened. She would have to get over the Metropolis incident someday--a good enough part of her was only human and prone to mistakes, no matter who her parents were. She sighed and listened closely for another heartbeat in the room. Aside from the three others, there was deafening silence. And then it occurred to her, and when it did a large grin formed on her face.

"Hey, their heartbeats are rather calm...which can only mean they don't know JL is here." she smirked, her eyes lowering to cast a determined shadow on her face. "They're above us, if you wanna catch 'em first. Either floor ten or eleven." Martie walked to the guard and snagged his key card. "I'm taking the elevator, meet you there." she announced, entering the confining box and punching the 9
th floor button.

Nathaniel woke up on his Cell Bed thinking about his Second Day in Prison Life due to being set-up by his employer. Sitting on his Bed he stood up an yawned as he washed his face. "Heh... just another day. (Hopefully I don't get bothered Today)." He thought to himself rinsing his face from the soap as he exited his Cell. Walking towards the Mess Hall two other Prisoners blocked his way. "Do you two have a Death-Wish?" Nathaniel said towards the two Inmates as they laughed at him. As the taller of the two leaned in he was about to punch Nathan as he spoke. "Heh, Fine then." He uttered as he caught the Inmate's punch, looking at him Nathaniel had a Sadistic grin as he kneed the Inmate in the Rib Cage, breaking a Rib or two. Smashing the Inmate's head on the ground knocking the Inmate out, staring at the other Inmate he saw the fear in his eyes as Nathaniel began to continue walking towards the Mess Hall.

(I apologize if it's short. But I didn't have much to go with other than Nathan fighting among'st the other Inmates.)

Copperhead raised her hand poised and ready to strike the doctor with the neurotoxin, but as her hand came down the man grabbed her wrist, stopping her. A smile lit up the young woman’s face; she hadn't quite expected fight from the old man, she was impressed. Her smile grew wider but her eyes glowed and her expression was seemed dark. The old man still had a firm grip to Copperhead's wrist, so she swung her body around him coiling her legs around his upper arms. The scientist was shocked by the speed and fluidity of her movements and the strength of her legs, her wrist easily slid through his grasp. Her arms began to coil around his neck too, this where Dr.Honsen’s legs began to move and he threw them against the wall. Copperhead took a sharp inhale of breath as it tried escape her lungs, though her grip only tightened more.

“Be still old man.” She hissed in his ear before sinking her claws into the scientist neck leaving a deep scar. The neurotoxin just had a few short moments to begin to take its effect, the young woman loosened herself from the old man to watch her favorite part; where they tried to fight the invasion in their body but would surely succumb to it. Dr. Hosen stumbled around the lab quickly losing the function of his limbs. When his body finally had no movement left Copperhead placed a sack over his head and drug his body out the door.

She greeted Winter who was standing guard. She patted the doctor like a prize with a proud smile on her face. “Let's get out of here. I can't wait to see Leader’s face.”

The green eyes of Bethany darted across the room as each recruit performed their training exercises. If she was honest, Beth couldn't understand what their boss saw in these men and women. None of them seemed to be anything special and hadn't impressed her so far. But she supposed she'd just have to trust him for the time being. Suddenly a slim finger shot out and pointed at a recruit on the far side of the room. "You, over here now." She demanded. The recruit slowly walked over to her with a slightly worried expression on his face. "Who taught you to shoot like that, a five year old?" Beth mocked. "Hip firing isn't really accurate and you're more likely to miss your shots." She spoke in an intimidating tone as her eyes hadn't moved from the man's gaze. "Now get back over there and prove to me you aren't an idiot." She said.

Beth let out a sigh in annoyance as she watched the recruit return to his training. "How are we meant to defeat anybody when we have idiots like him on our team.." She muttered to herself. Beth noticed a few recruits were struggling a bit with hand to hand combat and were hitting incorrectly. Beth marched over to the two recruits and grabbed one of their fists as they were swinging for a punch. "Wrong! A punch like that will get blocked easily and you'll be on the ground before you know it. Now watch how a real fighter does it." Moving the recruit away from her, her focus switched to the remaining one. Lifting a hand at the recruit, she motioned for her to try and attack her. The recruit managed to throw a somewhat decent punch but Beth read it like a book and with one swift movement, she blocked the punch and hooked her leg under the recruit and tripped her up. Beth smirked and wiped her hand before pulling the recruit to her feet. "That's how you do it, now once more."

Patterson paced before her new charges with a sneer twisting her upper lip. While she was advised not to be anywhere near the "operatives" upon awakening the need to keep an eye on the bunch overrode every other sense in her body. She didn't trust them as far as she could spit and who could really blame her for that? Most of the lot was bred from criminals, inherently evil. They started to move, the sedative starting to work it's way out of their system. When it was all said and done, the warden and guards were paid their due and the abominations were knocked out and ready to go. As soon as the group arrived, they were taken out of those evil looking contraptions, but shackled together like the chain-gang they were.

A grunt rose from the strikingly pale one, Quinn. A name she knew well, thanks to the documentation of her grandmother's efforts. A good few faces were linked to the old squad in familial ties, but Patterson cared nothing for that. It would grant them no leinency from her. She bent down and wiped her shoe. Their hideout was scummy at best, resembling the opening scene of
Saw in her opinion. "As if you deserve better," she perked up, finally done waiting on them like they were princesses in some cracker fairytale. "I don't have time for this SHIT! Wake ya'll asses up! NOW!" yelled, her voice and demeanor vastly larger than her small body. The squad was in for a rude awakening.

"I actually-"

There was a pause in Truth's words, until there were no more words being produced at all. "You wanna continue?" Alice questioned her, before she began to look at what Truth's eyes were so fixated on. It was the body, and by the length of time it's taking her to look at it, it seemed like she could be feeling a wave of guilt or something of the sort. Alice mouthed a "nevermind", and looked over at Truth with a face of slight sympathy. Given a couple seconds, Truth's expression completely changed. From troubled, to joyful, something must have caught her attention. That, or she has mood swings which Alice has never known about.

"Hey, their heartbeats are rather calm...which can only mean they don't know JL is here, " Truth said over to Alice with a grin, in which she returned with a nod. That was good. Now, if they were silent enough, they could take them out without a fuss. Truth kept talking about how they were in the 10th or 11th floor as she began to make her way towards the elevator.

"Since you're taking the elevator, I'll take the stairs. Need to get some of my daily cardio in," Alice yawned, running on the spot for a couple seconds in order to add emphasis. "I'll meet you there." The elevator closed, and Alice was alone. Turning her head over to the right, she identified to stairway and proceeded to run up the stairs. It took a few moments, though she finally made it. Waiting silently on the 9th floor, Alice rested her hands behind her back and began rocking back and forth. Humming a tune, she wasn't sure how slow the elevator was going to be. If the elevator took even five seconds more, Alice would just as well beat up all of the villains in this place without Truth.
