Augustine Beck

savef.pngHe stood from a crouched position, looking down at a newly created being. Augustine had spent what only felt like hours, populating the rocky island with slumbering men and women of greater builds than the humans of earth. They averaged at 7 to 8 feet tall, and were stronger than humans. They would need this strength for the unforgiving, rocky wilderness where the ground was often uneven and hill-like. It was a gray world he made for them, but for now, they slumbered. He would wake them once he finished with his plans.

He looked back at his people of deep tanned skin before his feet began to leave the earth below him. He turned to follow the setting sun in the distance and traveled as fast as he could towards it. He began to note the feeling he had of all the flying creatures that populates to air thus far. it was like his nervous system extended beyond his flesh and presented themselves around the earth. This was his domain, and if he were to make a home for himself then it would have to be here in the clouds.

An idea gnawed at the back of Augustine's mind for some time now. The feeling of regret for his outburst upon arriving. He had time to calm down and reflect on that. It was warranted, he was reasonably upset, but it was ultimately unnecessary he thought. He shouldn't have expressed it so outwardly, and In light of this, he decided he would make a place where all the gods can come together and watch over their world from atop their mountain. He found a landmass suitable for the desired outcome. Already high in altitude and mountainous, it was a perfect place for him to set up shop. "This looks promising." He said to himself before raising his hand to the center of the foggy ground below him.

As his ring began to shine, the earth below him rumbled to reveal a spire poking through the thick fog, only to continue to rising into the sky. He wanted to see just how far he could make it, letting loose on this ability of his. The mountain grew and pierced the clouds, splitting off into smaller mountains, cliffs and cave systems in its wake as the rocky earth warped to fulfill his creation.

The earth around the marvel continued to rumble as the peek rose and reaching a point that it truly pierced the sky. The clouds around it began to swirl as Augustine lifted his other arm up, commanded them to surround the mountain he had nearly completed. Clouds too began to form above the rest, creating a cone to meet the mountain top, swirling and descending, two obelisks ready to converge. And with a brilliant blue light, like an explosion in the sky was the formation of it's very own pocket in space. A mountain no mortal could climb, reserved for the gods of this new world. The light created a blue ring that began to fan out from it, a traveling aurora that opened up the sky to a view of the stars, each one sparkling brilliantly only for a moment. The Jinsi and other beings, including Augustine's apes, witnessed as the ring passed by over head, changing the sky as it passed, only to return normal once the ring met on the other side of the planet. It then vanished, returning everything back to how it was, but the sight of such a thing left the apes in their jungle inspired despite their low intellect. They huffed and howled to each other in a display of minor intrigue.

Once it was complete, Augustine flew beyond the clouds to admire it. A constant blue glimmer illuminated the peek, much like Aurora Borealis, and a continuous flow of water spilled off of its edges, forming a dish surrounded by cloud cover. When he decided to investigate, he found that it imitated the blue sky with rolling clouds, but was in fact a solid platform of water that he could walk on all around the mountain. "Trippy..." He said to himself, before flying up towards the cliff side where a small river flowed beside him. He took a seat there and listened to the sounds of flowing water from distant waterfalls, and the brisk breeze of such a high altitude.

For a moment, he was at peace, but he ultimately decided not to stay much longer. Returning to where he started would be his next objective. Standing up and flying to the top of his mountain he moved his eyes around slowly to regain his bearings, before blasting off to the building that was made for him and the other gods. He wondered how that was created and by who. He could assume it was the god who dragged him here and give him godhood. "If that's the case, are there gods above even us?" He questioned himself and the power he was given. If he meets the others, he would definitely see what they thought about that.

The sound barrier broke as he approached, creating a dull, booming sound before making a hard landing back where he started. He turned back to see the mountain he had made before entering and making his way back to the banquette hall. Once there, he first noticed a shattered window to the side of him, but he didn't pay it much mind. He looked around for any sign of the others in the hall as his almost cautious footsteps echoed with the clacking sound of hard boots. If there were any, he would give them a plain hello.
