You’ll never see me shut down faster than when someone tries to push me into starting when the idea is barely developed. I’m a detailed writer—I dig deep; there’s a certain level of quality I expect to hit with my posts, and I can’t do that when I barely know anything about our project. You’re effectively asking me to write a thesis paper on the world and my character’s place in it when my functional knowledge is that of a newborn.

Fuck that.

I wanna get to know your starting character(s), the world, and at least the gist of the first arc before we start. That gives me enough to go on so I can be comfortable writing how I want to write.

My creative process tends to involve spontaneous bouts of IC and lazy pseudo-posts to convey, explore, or discover ideas in the planning stage. I do best with people who don’t shut that down. That’s a major way I develop things so it’s really frustrating when someone always ignores that and never responds with their own character, pseudo-post, or even just a brief explanation of what they think their character would do.

You don’t have to respond every time—sometimes you don’t feel like it, or don’t know what the reaction would be, or it’s just a dumb bit of IC from me that doesn’t necessitate a response—but if you ignore it most the time, we won’t be compatible.
