Dazed, confused, but chugging on.
-Don't powerplay. Being able to solve the main source of conflict on your first post throws the whole plot out of whack.
-Don't hurt another character without their writer's permission. You can talk it out in the OOC.
-Try for at least three sentences for others to work with.
-Try not to leave anyone behind. If someone's left without anything to do, you can invite them into your group.
-No NSFW. Romance is okay, but no "icky stuff".
-Minor gore is okay, but not intense gore.
-No OOC drama. If something's wrong, please DM the other person.

Lore
How are worlds created?
Like galaxies form in outer space, worlds slowly push themselves together when stray magic collapses and collect debris from the creation of preexisting worlds. The space between universes is simply known as the Backyard, and its inhabitants must alert the preexisting universes when a new one is formed. One of the MPB's other tasks is to travel to these worlds and connect them to the network.
Okay, how does that work?
It's as simple as stepping in the new universe and opening a portal home! Doing so connects the universes together, like connecting two pins on a conspiracy board with string.
In order for the MPB to know of these knew worlds, beings in The Backyard usually float in to tell them.
Beings outside the multiverse
Not everything has a set home in the multiverse. Sometimes, when new worlds shape themselves inside the Backyard, new creatures form out of the leftovers. Some are benevolent and even help put new worlds together, others are more malicious, and the latter type likes to group up and cause problems in the multiverse. Sometimes they're even able to persuade more villainous beings already in a universe to help.
They say the multiverse used to be one big land. Is that true?
The legends says that the multiverse, indeed, used to be one, gigantic continent. Then, a fierce battle between the kirin Misamkora and the demon Lapitido caused it to break apart into multiple pieces. While it's possible to unite all the worlds into one land again, it'd be dangerous and difficult. Then again, this is just a centuries old story told by an elderly horse, so don't put too much trust into it being true.
If I took something from one world, and tried to sell it in another world, would it be worth more?
It depends. If you had, say, a gold statue, it will have greater or less worth depending on how that universe sees gold. Be careful, however; an enchanted artifact still retains its magic even after being carried over, and thus can still lay waste should it fall into the wrong hands.
Also of note is that you'd be hard pressed to find two universes that use the same currency.
Won't we have trouble surviving in each other's universes?
Hopefully not. When Backyard beings describe a new world, it's imperative that they also identify the atmosphere, the wildlife, and the fauna. If the universe has a poisonous atmosphere, for example, then it's highly recommend that the traveler wears an oxygen mask before entering.
Won't we change appearances between universes?
You might! Sometimes the universe has magic embedded in it that changes your species or appearance accordingly. This isn't usually an automatic process, however, and sometimes the magic needs to be found and activated so it can take effect.
What would happen if I got stranded in a universe?
You better hope it's a friendly one! The Portal-ble has a tracking device of sorts, which has its own separate battery so it can stay working if the main one that powers the rest of the device dies. So, hopefully, the rest of the Brigade will realize that you didn't make it back and come back to get you.
Good teams and...not-so-good teams
Although the RP primarily focuses on one team, there are plenty more existing both within and outside the organization. When these teams come together during a crisis, it can quickly turn into competition, friendly or not.
On the flipside, some teams don't mind chaos in the multiverse-in fact, they might be causing it! Like the malicious outside beings, these groups will travel around the multiverse for the sole purpose of wreaking havoc. Teams of the MPB are meant to have any members of the bad teams locked up in headquarters, then shipped off to their own universes to have authorities deal with them there.
Team recruitment
The MPB is always accepting new members, but it's not as easy as signing up for a team and receiving the equipment. First, the desired team must be chosen and summoned, then the newbie is escorted to an obstacle course where their stamina, speed, agility, physical prowess, and wit is tested. The members of the desired team may either help or harm, providing aid or being an obstacle. If they fail, the would-be must wait a minimum of six hours to try again. If they pass, they are officially recognized as a rookie member of the team, but as they are shown the ropes they are usually limited to Nuisance or Threat missions.
Team equipment
Typically, the MPB's teams are told to bring whatever they can carry, but they do get supplies on top of that.have
-A swiss army knife, in case the member's weapon is lost, or something needs to be cut.
-A flashlight, in case the universe or an area within it is dark.
-Walkie talkies, if the members need to communicate with each other from far away or in a loud environment.
-A magnifying glass, which comes in handy when searching for something small.
-The most important item is the Portal-ble, a small handheld device which has four main buttons: one that creates a portal to the headquarters, one that creates a portal to the user's home universe (It's required to tell it your home universe when you first receive it), the previous universe the user traveled to (useful if the user forgot something), and the nearest universe. It doesn't have as much power as the headquarter's computer, and cannot take the user as far.
Are there sub-teams?
Yep! Sometimes members will branch off to form their own mini-teams under the wings of the MPB. If they get experienced enough, they might branch off altogether, forming a standalone group.
Who's Yuchino?

Ain't she cute? Yuchino is the young girl who you helped liberate her world. Hailing from Erinn, she owns a special (though standard in her world) quill that allows her to walk between universes. Unfortunately, she's not very good at navigating yet, and, on her journey, she quickly found herself lost in the multiverse. Unusual for someone her age, she's very quiet and fickle in nature, usually not talking to anyone unless she trusts them. Once you've earned her trust, however, she has unconditional loyalty, especially to you and the MPB.
Nao
Nao.png

Nao is the one who guides new Miletans to Erinn. A kindly goddess, Nao sometimes goes into The Backyard, looking for potential Miletans. She's the one who issues the multiverse traversing quills, as well as resurrecting fallen Miletans. It's because of her that true death is not possible in Erinn.
Lapatido
One of the oldest Backyard beings, and one of the cruelest. Lapatido loves attention, especially from "smaller beings". His goal is to become a deity among them, whatever it takes. He is also attempting to put together his own world to grow his cult in.
A Strange Corruption
What appears to be a granite cat statue with eyes of jasper is really a prison for a dangerous spirit. All it needs is a nearby presence to jump to, and it loves happy, soft, open hearts. When it enters a heart, is quickly climbs to the mind, in the process shutting off all emotions other than contempt and fury. From the "alpha", it can easily spread to new victims. No permanent cure has been found, and the best temporary solution is a blow to the head. Each time the victim is free, they become more vulnerable to being corrupted again. Fortunately, this parasite is currently deep in a cavern where chances of finding it, even by accident, are slim.
Mismakora
A very old, but still lovely Kirin who is very thankful towards the MPB. While you, your team, Yuchino, and Nao helped banish Lapatido, she helped you reconnect the multiverse. She swears that the multiverse used to be one, united land, but very few believe her.

Name: "Jodie Holmes"
Age:
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Home universe: Beyond 2 Souls
Skills, powers, and weapons/equipment:
With Aiden:
  1. Superhuman Senses of the Abnormal
  2. Telekenesis
  3. Can heal people
  4. Clairoyance
  5. Invisibility (Aiden only)

  6. Can interact with things intagible (such as Ghosts or something similar)
  7. Can react to bulletfire.
Without Aiden:
  1. Martial Arts: After being recruited by the CIA, Jodie quickly learned hand-to-hand combat and other self-defense techniques, since Aiden couldn't protect her all the time.
  2. Marksmanship: Jodie's CIA training has made her proficient with firearms and an accomplished markswoman. When the Infraworld took over, Jodie was shown observing the chaos armed with an assault rifle.
  3. Equestrian: During her stay at the ranch, Jodie learns how to ride a horse.
  4. Motorcyclist: Jodie was shown to be capable of riding a motorcycle, using one she stole to evade the authorities, and later using another one she was gifted by Jay to leave the Ranch, and depending on the ending, return on it.
  5. Submarine pilot: As part of her CIA training, Jodie knows how to operate a submersible, having practiced with a simulator.
  6. Mechanical Skill: If Jodie finds the motorcycle in the Barn, she can fix it herself.
  7. Cooking: As a bachelorette, Jodie is more than capable of cooking for herself, shown when she had the option to cook either chicken curry or Asian beef for her date with Clayton.

It's okay to do that, right? I don't want to clog up the extra pages, so I tried doing something different with threadmarkers.

Before we begin, we should lay down a mission so we're all on the same page. Any suggestions?

Maybe a raid on some random villain's lair from one of the universes? Like, the team tries to break onto Meta Knight's airship or something? Just spitballing

Well, first we would need for the team to get to know each other in a sense. Can't work together if you don't know who you are working with, unless we establish that we already know each other.

Good plan! Maybe we could begin with everyone having breakfast.

Ooh, that'd be cool for a first mission!

Well more than villain teams I feel they are more antagonist teams, I don't feel like everyone in our team is a pure hearted hero.

A traitor would be interesting!
Definitely... but if there was a traitor, it'd be cool if you PM'd them that they were the traitor and kept it secret from everybody else, so nobody knows if there's a traitor or not, and if they suspect there is one, they don't know who

That'd be cool, though there's definitely no characters so far that could totally be traitorous. *cough cough*

Just a little reminder: Giffany's ultimate weakness is rubber. Trap her in a glob of it and she'll effectively be immobilized. Do with that whatever you will.
