It's a warm and sunny day today for the island of Himitsu, the only breaks from heat being the occasional cloud and a gentle breeze that wafts from the shoreline. The streets that line the town are filled with bustling people both villagers and guests alike. After all, it is just a day before the festival begins and some people are scurrying to finish the last of the preparations in suspense while others fulfill their daily duties along side them. Many of the guests are visiting with relatives, or settling in for the next few days at the inn. The village itself is livelier than ever, as more people come to see the festival each year, which helps with the local economy more than some would like to admit. Among all of the noise lies a small convenience store near the middle of town, where a young boy waits expectantly.
Although so much excitement fills the air on this lovely afternoon, Haru is uncharacteristically quiet. His beady eyes are settled on the door of the small convenience store with sheer focus as his feet dangle from the stool chair he had climbed on to earlier. The chair itself is placed outside of the counter next to the cash register, where his mom shuffles about aimlessly waiting on a customer. Earlier that day Haruto had come into the store with a bounce in his step, exclaiming to his mother that his club has an official meeting today. The store makes for a good half-way point for all of them, and it allows them to grab snacks before leaving. However, he had forgotten about what time they were supposed to meet up at the store before they head to their club house. This led him to come extra early and wait for them at the convenience store, but it was already three in the afternoon. "Are you sure they are coming?", his mother asked with a gentle tone and Haru nodded vigorously. "Yes, they are coming! I know it!" His voice carried a confident tone to it that made his mother gently laugh and let him be. Haru has full faith that his friends would be coming through that door at any moment.
