Mission: Report Cards [closed, staff only]

Luther Rousseau
Assistant Physical Discipline Teacher
Interactions: Urial @St Sin , Aaron Gus Gus , Jason Giyari Giyari , Page ManicMuse ManicMuse , Allen B Bag o Fruit

Today was not a day for anyone with a queasy stomach. After swiping the muffin (her half-hearted attempt at breakfast) and being greeted by the super-in-a-dog-body Urial, she had barely finished shoving the delicious baked confection in her mouth before a lumbering giant made his entrance. He wasn't particularly tall but he was wide enough that she had half a mind to request their director insert him into Physical Discipline classes for his own good. One eyebrow raised as she observed the fellow staff member prove to everyone that yes, he was just as unhealthy as he appeared, by practically swallowing the rest of the muffins whole. The other eyebrow raised when Aaron Mallory fell to his knees and blurted out something about feeling ill and the 7-11. If he had stopped by a convenience store in addition to wiping out all of their refreshments she wasn't certain that he didn't deserve punishment for it. Luther was certainly a woman who enjoyed doing things to excess on a regular basis but there was a method to a mayhem. Getting drunk enough to mistake a door for a man in a suit was a nighttime sort of excess, not one for immediately before work.

She caught the gaze of some of the rest of her peers, or at least tried to, and shrugged her shoulders as if to say, Get a load of this guy! Military and ex-military had their fair share of crazy happenings, many of which did involve bodily fluids, so she wasn't damning the poor soul. No, she was just... amused. After he got it all out he'd probably feel better, they could all have a good laugh, and life would go on. Not that Jason Swan would likely laugh. If her supervisors in the past were any indication, he'd frown deeply at Aaron, chastise him, and then either send him away or order him to clean up after himself.

It was all fun and games until the splat on the wall was congealing, moving, and talking. Luther felt sorry for Page- puking in a bucket in front of your boss was hardly the great start to a day and really Aaron was to blame for that- but was pleasantly surprised when she jumped back and offered to burn the parasite with fire. Not that anyone was going to be paying attention to the teaching assistant but she was nodding enthusiastically. Who the hell cared about containment protocol? Destroy it with extreme prejudice and investigate after the fact!

Luther's jaw dropped as she watched the awkward spectacle that was Allen McNabb lunge towards the foreign being. She almost felt pity. Allen smothering you was a far worse fate than being burned alive in her opinion. While Luther was exceedingly accepting of men of all sizes, shapes, and ages, there was something just creepy as hell about the senior citizen. The stumbling man didn't make contact, however, and landed on the floor, then uttered 'We are here for you.' A second later and Aaron was reassuring the thing that they didn't mean harm and he only had a few questions...

She stared incredulously. Were they trying to console what she assumed was a bizarre super? Maybe they had very profound paternal instincts but it had willfully invaded Aaron without his consent, hid its presence from him (based on his surprise), and, if she had seen correctly, almost slithered its way into Allen McNabb! At best he/she/it was guilty of assault, but who knew how else it had violated the teacher. How long had it intended to sit in the backseat and observe everything it had no right to see? Why were they giving the criminal the benefit of the doubt? Given how incredibly sympathetic they were being, she wagered that if a malevolent old witch offered them poisoned apples they'd be applauding her generous nature.

Jason Swan was the most sane individual in the room. As he rose, commanding his staff back from the creature, Page dashed out (probably the smartest course of action for all of them). Luther crossed her arms and legs, content to let Boss Man handle this fiasco. She was confident her powers made her body as uninhabitable for oozes as it did for fetuses so she did not recoil in fear. Unfortunately, Aaron blundered his way into Jason's line of sight and Luther stood up, half a mind to draw her own weapon to back up the headmaster. There was a time and place for insubordination- she was intimately familiar with it- but this was not it. Aaron was intentionally or unintentionally coming close to undermining Director Swan's authority by making a proposal, taking for granted it would be accepted, not backing from Kingsley when being explicitly ordered to do so, and then implying that Kingsley would be treated as a friendly guest. "All due respect, Mr. Mallory, but it's not your place to be guaranteeing the safety of the offender," she asserted, "or offering it any help."

"I am not an it. I must request to not be referred to as an it. I was born, I was given a name, my social security and identification have names and gender on them. I am Kingsley Rothlundt and I will not be treated like some common criminal! If there is anyone here to be fearful of, it's Mallory! I had fled into him when I was attacked by rodents and then had to flee from that storm inside him! He's a ticking time bomb and I did not wish to be in ground zero!"

Looking around and finally gaining her bearings, Kingsley scoffed.

"By the looks of it, I've been ejected into some sort PTA meeting? Instead of threatening me, please just allow me to leave."

Aaron glanced across at Luther, somewhat taken aback by the PD teacher's callous tone. Whatever her crimes might be, this was a human being, however alien she might appear. ...and however haughty HER tone might be. Jesus Christ, he thought, does she really think she's just going to waltz out of here with nothing but a 'terribly sorry to have troubled you miss, hate to have incommoded you by giving such poor choice of hosts! Safe travels to you, and fare well!'

Shaking his head he gave the girl a stern look.

"Leaving is not an option on the table for you Ms. Rothlundt. Luther, I am not guaranteeing anybody anything, nor 'offering help' in any way. I am just trying to resolve this matter as quickly as possible, short of violence. "

Turning back to the intruder, he continued:

"You would do well to understand that violence is still an option on the table, miss, and you'll do well to keep a civil tongue. This is not the PTA, this is the staff of facility 108, and I assure you I am the least of the threats to you in this room, so if you are afraid of me, you should be very frightened indeed. You may be 'no common criminal' but you are at the very least guilty of trespass, and of a nature I take rather personally. As blue card holders we have the authority to hold you for up to 48 hours without charge. After that, whether you are turned over to the legal system, or enrolled as a student here, depends very much on your behavior. Are we perfectly crystal clear?"

"How about it, boss? Ten minutes? Reconvene in the library? You are certainly welcome to accompany us down to the holding tank and see her secured."

Director Swan
As Aaron fumbled his way into Jason's sights, the director took a quick side step, fixing his gun firmly back onto the stranger that has invaded their meeting. The current security climate gave him no room to be civil, and even less room to be lenient.

"Holding cells, under the clinic." Jason replied sharply before their guest spoke up.

"Well, Miss Rothlund. As Solo has explained, you are trespassing in a secure area, and may have been privy to confidential information. So sadly your freedom to leave is not an option. In light of recent events against the powered population, you will be held for questioning by Commonwealth as a suspect of Espionage and potential links to Terrorism. I do not take this lightly, and neither should you. You are in a very serious situation." Jason explained, keeping his pistol steady as he clicked a button on his watch shaped limiter.

This was just bizarre. Possession wasn't an unheard of power, however it was usually through psychic links. To be able to parasitically link with someone, that was an impressive power with dangerous possibilities. The person did however seem to be as confused as the staff members around him, but perhaps it was a ruse. She had already mentioned Lazarus by name, and therefore was at least aware of who she had existed inside, or at the very least, been able to observe Aaron's surroundings for a time. Her intentions of espionage and terrorism were probably quite questionable, but Jason wasn't about to take the risk, not after everything that had happened.

Keeping his eyes on "Kingsley", Jason picked up his phone from the table and quick dialled his first emergency contact.

"Codename, Audio. Identification zero, zero, zero, three, two. Request interrogation and containment team, We have a security breach... Affirmative, yes... Understood." he said calmly in a well practised manner before hanging up. The team would take a while to arrive, until then Solo was right, the holding cells would be the safest option, for everyone involved.

"Solo, escort Miss Rothlund please. Library in ten minutes..." Swan finished, holstering his gun for the time being. He was certain Aaron could do more than a bullet if need be, and looking at this person's physiology, bullets might not have worked much anyway...

Kingsley

One day, eventually, a master of the craft of Acting will in the prime of his or her ability manage to reproduce the absolute exasperation in the form of a sigh that Kingsley emitted. A gift passed down her family line for generations.

"My tongue has been nothing but civil and I shall go willingly with you. I believe I understand that you are somewhat afraid of me, which from my perspective is outrageous. But all things considered, you've been very civil with me and it was a long shot to simply ask to leave. May I request to not be placed in some sort of bucket or container? It's demeaning and I don't think I deserve it."

Compliantly but sarcastically she raises her hands up and behind her head, letting the fluid of both drip and merge together into one solid mass.

Aaron slipped into the library a trifle sheepishly, embarrassment mixed with a nearly hypochondriac level of concerns about lingering effects of hosting a super parasite for goodness knows how long. Was this normal light-headedness or a symptom of something sinister? Rolling his neck around and trying not to think about it, he stumped over to the table and sat down. Glancing around at the others he said quietly "Sorry about all that... anyway, shall we get started? Are we beginning with overall raw scores, highlights, or areas of weakness? I have two students in particular I'd like to see commended for personal growth."

"Yes. We haa-have to get d-d-down to business. Is whhat we individivuals here m-must do. I, Mister McNabb, and not f-former precedent George Washington, have... a ffew comments about a Mister Jordan Brahn...

Aaron pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "Allen, is this about him challenging you about the details of your stroke? We've been over this before. You can't let adolescents get under your skin like that. Not even hyper-intelligent ones... especially the hyper intelligent ones, really. He doesn't mean anything by it, he's just another socially awkward misfit kid, and you can't hold that against him in his grades... ...admittedly, I'd be surprised if he got a good score in emotional composure anyway... In my class, while he can do lightning fast theoretical calculations regarding the structural integrity of a building, but he spends most of his time yelling at the other students (and me, come to that) that we're all idiots who should just do as he says. Anyway, I'd rather not let the Brahn boys become the focus of this meeting, whatever their horrible mother might say about that. If I could nominate a student for 'most growth' over the last marking period, it would definitely be Tabitha Crane. And before anybody makes the obvious joke, no, that's not why. She has really started to open up in my class. I had never seen anyone more closed down when she first arrived here. She speaks now! She participates in activities! The difference is stark. Has anyone else observed this?"

Yes we hhaave, which, is, t-to say, we whho have had Tabitha C-Crane in class have n-noticed this." Allen blathered, buying time for Lazarus to comb their memory files for Tabitha Crane. She's definitely in our class... but which one is she?? There's no image file in the memory banks, and so many of our students match Mallory's description... WAIT! Mallory made a growing pun! Haha! Tabitha must be the odd girl who shrinks into a little bug-person!

"Y-yes, I have n-noticed an admirarable adherence t-to classroom regulations frrom Ms. Crane as well!"

“Dudes..wut” Stunned enough by the display and subsequent activity to remain largely silent while things unfolded.

“I’m gonna...shit this was better than I dreamed. I think I’m actually good for once. You can make your stupid small talk I’m gonna edit this gift I’ve been given.

Cutting her camera abruptly, Penny vanished from on screen.

Aaron sighed heavily.

"Oh, I'm sure that won't go wrong. Director is there any way to put her outgoing feed on a ten minute delay without her knowing about it?Whatever she's planning to 'edit' I have my doubts whether it will show the facility in a good light. Maybe somebody could go down and talk with her about that? Imogen seems to have a good working relationship with her."

Aaron thought ruefully how he had thought that he did too, until those videos started popping up in his news feed. He still brought her food and played cards with her whenever he was able, but he had to admit it hurt, being blindsided like that. He hoped it didn't show. He wanted very much to believe she was acting out merely for lack of human contact, and that she would eventually come around. Since he and Imogen were effectively her only company, he could hardly stop visiting her in good conscience. But it wasn't as easy as it had been at the start.

Putting the unpleasant thoughts aside, he spoke up again.

"Does anybody else have any highlights? Besides Tabitha, I would nominate Luci for hardest worker. He has really poured his all into his training this session, and I see marked improvement in his skill, strength and power."
