Everyone's familiar with Minecraft- that quirky block-building and survival game with a lively, dangerous world. It's such a fun experience when you're divorced from the setting by a screen and the graphics.
What nobody realizes is that properly written, that very setting- the same one of roaming pigs and epic builds- is a terrifying fight for survival every day and night for its sentient inhabitants. It is a setting of unceasing war. A setting of grim men and women in their villages, facing death every night from undead hordes, and of shadowy forces poking at the Overworld in service to a dark god that destroys all it touches.
To shorten things up: Minecraft, when you take a look at it away from the superhuman player, is a hell of a setting.
The players are Testificates- villagers, people of all lands and regions. Whether they be simple farmers, soldiers, priests, or adventurers- one thing is for sure. Fate has chosen them. Perhaps their small hamlet fell to the hungry corpses that wander the lands. Perhaps their father was spirited away by a black demon, unnaturally tall and with eyes shining like the moon. Perhaps they sighted a pale man in black robes wandering the outskirts of town, and now they are dogged by cultists at every step.
Whether they will survive is up to you.
Feel free to post if you're interested.
